• The Valentino Roma label launched in 2000 to take the place of the Miss V line. It was sold at a price point that was a bit more accessible then their main line and was meant to be available in more shops then the main line would be. The pieces were still very well made. This one caught my eye simply because of how gorgeous and sexy it is. It is a stunning dress with beautiful lines.
• It is made out of a synthetic purple stretch fabric that almost has the finish and feel of a very light in weight swimsuit fabric. This lets it fall fantastically over the body while keeping shape and structure.
• The dress is strapless and the upper bodice has a soft rounded shape to it. The silk is draped over the bust to give the feel of a bandeau and it is gathered in along the centre. Inside there is a full built in boned corset that is shaped for support. 
• It is cut to skim over the body in a way that it drapes softly over you but still highlights your curves to past the hips to suggest an hourglass feel.
• The skirt falls from there and widens out slightly as it nears the hem. There is a slit up the front that is very high so that you get a flash of leg when you walk or sit. This also gives it incredible movement when you move.
• The final perfect detail is the long vertical panels that have been done in the same purple fabric as the rest of the dress. These begin as a twisted knot at the front bodice and then the two panels fall in a ruffle down the full length of the dress to the floor. Where the dress is slit at the bottom the ruffles continue on each side of it. This little extra and pretty detail adds that perfect finishing element of romance and femininity.
• The dress is unlined with a built-in black corset that is lightly boned that closes with its own side zipper and then a second zipper sits over that to close the exterior dress. Lightly boned through the inner bodice. An attached inner waist stay hooks to close.

• This dress is from the early-mid 1970s.
• It was made under the creative of direction of  Hubert de Givenchy.
• In 1952, Givenchy founded his namesake house on Rue Alfred de Vigny in Paris and quickly rose to fame as one of the grand couturiers. 16 years later for the 1968-69 season, he added a ready-to-wear line of clothing and accessories called 'Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique'. The line was initially sold in the United States exclusively through Bergdorf Goodman stores and was eventually available at other retailers as well.
• The line was still high-end and the clothing very well made. He launched this line to expand his customer base and it was made to appeal specifically to his non-couture clients.
• The dress is made out of a blue dotted red silk organza that is set in overlapping ruffled layers that run from the top of the dress to the hem.
• Straps made of the same silk curve up and over each shoulder and then the first ruffle of silk organza starts from the very top edge of the neckline.
• The ruffles fall down the entire length of the dress and each one gets wider than the one above it. There are eight ruffles in total and it is just spectacular.
• The movement that the ruffles create as you move is fantastic. The choice of silk organza keeps it very light in weight so the slightest bit of air or your movement allows them to move softly around you.
• The dress underneath is made from the same dotted fabric and it also follows that widening line of the dress all the way to the hem.
• The skirt widens out as it near the floor making the cut incredibly easy to fit and still be flattering.
• There is a little silk flower attached at the base of one strap that gives the dress a little extra pop of colour for the perfect finishing touch.
• The dress is fully lined in a red silk and closes with a back set zipper. Over the zipper area each ruffled layer has tiny snaps to close them over the zipper to hide it. I see one tiny hole near the hem of one ruffle near the bottom. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all. Hand finishes throughout.

• This fabulous Pucci dress that dates to the 1970s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Emilio Pucci. 
• By the 1960s and 1970s, Pucci was a world-wide phenomenon. Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and even first lady Jackie Kennedy were huge fans. For all of the many attempts since to catapult the label back to the height of its glory, the days when Emilio himself oversaw the label and designed the prints will always be the most special to me.
• This is a very easy-to-wear and travel with kind of dress. It is made out of one of his signature silk jersey fabrics. This silk jersey fabric choice is what gives these dresses their perfect drape and ease.
• Each of their dresses were made of a custom designed print. On this one a beautiful classic Pucci floral print runs over the entire dress. The base fabric is black and then the print combines pinks and taupes. A smaller floral print sits inside the edges that run along the neckline, waist, bodice, cuffs and hem.
• The front dips into a V that meets an upward angled band that sits just below the bodice. I love how the edging highlights, the V and the waist and adds very pretty lines to the dress.
  
• The shoulders are soft and each sleeve is set into the shoulder with a slight gathering. They have a gorgeous fullness to them that balloons out over the cuff. The cuff is done in a double band of the contrasting fabric. They are just fantastic.
• Under that the skirt skims over the hips and flares out slightly as it nears the hem. There is quite a bit of fabric in the skirt so it has great movement when you move.
• A slit runs up one side from the hem and it is also edged with the contrasting border. It allows for a little bit of extra leg to show when you walk.
• These original Pucci dresses are getting harder to find and this one is an outstanding condition and is absolutely gorgeous.
• The dress is unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The cuffs close with silk covered, hidden set snaps. The printed part of the fabric is signed throughout. Hand finishes throughout.

• This is a more recent dress from the Prada label. 
• It was made under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada
• The dress is made out of the prettiest pastel pink silk chiffon. The chiffon has a pretty texture that runs through it that adds to its visual appeal. This fabric choice keeps the weight of the dress perfectly light in weight.
• Two tiny straps made out of a matching pink chiffon curve up and over each shoulder. The front has two triangle halter fronts and the upper back is left bare and exposed.
• I love how the silk has been gathered into the triangles at the front. A seam runs under each and the dress has been gathered into a centre seam that runs down both the front and back of the dress. Seams sit on either side to create beautiful draping.
• The silk is left raw at the edges, a Prada signature, which adds a bit of extra texture.
• The shape is created through the gathering of the chiffon and it has been shaped to follow the curves of the body. It curves in at the waist and then curves back out and over the hips. I love the hourglass feel this gives the dress.
• The skirt is made from two stacked layers of the same pink silk chiffon. The the inner layer extends slightly past the top silk layer. The two layers are lightly tacked to each other at different points all the way around the skirt.
• There is just an incredible amount of fabric used for the skirt. It has fantastic movement as you move.
• The dress is fully lined in a pink silk through the body and the inner layer of the skirt acts as the lining. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• The dress dates to the late 1980s and is most similar to the pieces we see in the 1987 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• Its easy cut and open smock shape through the body is a strong nod to the pieces from the 1920s.
• The dress combines a brilliant pink silk with black floral patterned lace used for the sleeves.
  
• The neckline is cut slightly wide across and the shoulders are soft. The neckline is bordered with a panel of the same pink silk and the fabric is gathered in along the edge on the front and the back. It buttons with two buttons at the back of the neck that sit above a small slit.
• The sleeves are spectacular. They are made out of a very pretty floral black lace. The lace is unlined so you can see a peak of skin between the lace once the dress is on. I love that for the cuffs he used the same pink silk used in the body of the dress for a little contrasting pop.
• The dress skims loosely over the bust and waist into a low set seam around the hips. If you wanted to wear the dress shorter, you could add a belt for a completely different silhouette. The very bottom part of the skirt is a little soft and flirty silk ruffle that is just under 9" wide.
• The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. It closes with two buttons at the back of the neck. Each sleeve has a loop and button to close. It's loose and easy fit should allow it to work on a range of sizes. The pink is a touch lighter than how it photoed here. It is meant to fit slightly oversized.

• It is a stunning dress with beautiful lines that is made out of a vibrant pink silk. 
• The dress is technically a one shoulder dress although the detail on the side that drapes over the opposite shoulder gives it the appearance having coverage on both side sides
• The strap that does go up and over the shoulder extends out from the bodice from one of the wrapped over panels at the front. It curves up and over the shoulder, widens out near the top of the shoulder and then narrows back down to insert into the back.
• I love how the back scoops low to expose bare skin.
• On the side opposite to the shoulder strap it extends out into two draped panels. They are large enough that you can have them sit on your shoulder or you can have it draped down more like the end of a tie of a bow. From there it curves inwards to create shape through the waist. 
• It curves back out over the hips and falls to the floor gently widening out a touch as it near the hem. There is a slit at the back for a little bit of a kick when you move.
• Inside the bodice there is a built-in inner structure to give some added support and the fabric itself has some structure so that it holds a shape around you.
• It very much has the feel of an old Hollywood but done in that brilliant and highly saturated pink colour.
• The dress is fully lined in a lighter pink and closes with a zipper at the back. The inner bodice has its own set of hooks to close with an attached inner waist stay. There is light boning hidden inside the bodice. I see a slight colour change along one side of the dress that continues down around the hem. You can see a very soft change in saturation in the shots and I tried to capture it in the photo after the label shot. It is extremely light and feels like the light is catching the fabric in a different way. Priced accordingly and sold as found.

• This jacket is from the Spring 2006 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld.
• The collection was called "Coco meets James Dean" with the idea that Lagerfeld had organized an imaginary meeting between the two. In real life they had never met, but in his eyes he saw them as being rebellious figures and wanted to explore the meeting of the two stylistically.
• The jacket has a gorgeous woven feeling to its tweed exterior and the boucle is a mix of silk and cotton.
• The shoulders have very light padding but are soft and shaped to the body. The sleeves are slightly cropped. Each sleeve has a fringe finish around its end.
• The collar is scooped with the same fringe finishing that you see on the cuffs. The jacket closes down the front with hand-made buttons to look like wax seals. The famous double C has been hand stamped onto each button.
• Two tiny top set pockets sit on each side and these also have a fringe finish to perfectly tie everything together.
• The jacket has the signature Chanel multi-panel vertical seaming that pieces all of the panels together to create the shape of the jacket.
• Triangle inserts have been added around the hem so that it flares out over the top of the hip and then you have your final fringe finish running around the hem.
• The jacket is lined with a black silk that is also pieced to match the panelled pattern of the jacket. A signature silver chain that runs around the inner hem.

• This set dates to the late 1970s and it was made under the Creative Direction of Oscar de la Renta.
• These sets were easy to wear and ones like this one where made to cover a variety of occasions from casual entertaining to being used for less formal evening wear. It is a classic and easy feeling piece that still feels fresh and fabulous now. It is very rare to find the full set.
• In the late seventies and into the eighties this caftan/tunic and pant look was at an all time high and many of the top designers of the day designed options for their clients who wanted the look but still wanted to wear their favourite brand name. This one is a great example of that.
• Oscar was a master with cut and colour and this set has both.
• Both pieces are made out of a fine silk that has a secondary floral pattern woven through the silk. Onto that is a design done in a matching silk cording.
• The tunic completely unbuttons down the front so you can wear it layered over other pieces to act as an ultra light evening coat. It is perfect to be worn as a chic day or evening dress if you dare to wear it alone with the high front slit. And of course it perfectly pops over the matching pants for a chic evening pajama feel.
• The silk is feather light and this lets it flows around you when you move or the slightest breeze hits it.
• For added detail he used a matching coral cord embroidery to edge the neck and then run down the front. There is more cording at each cuff.
• The tunic has long sleeves that taper down to the wrist slightly. The shoulders have a very light padding for shape and then it falls from there over the body widening out gently as it nears the hem. When you are standing still it settles perfectly about you but when you move you really get the sense of movement because of the slit at the front.
• The pants have wide straight legs and an easy fit around the hip. The waist has a small band in the same silk.
  
• Unlined and the tunic buttons down the front and has decorative buttons at each cuff. Light padding in the shoulders. The easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes. The colour has a slightly more pastel feel in person. There is one mark on the pant that is up toward the hip, so completely hidden when the tunic is worn over it. • This pretty printed silk caftan dress dates to the 1980s.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of Hanae Mori.
• Hanae was the first woman of Japanese descent to have presented on the Paris and New York runways and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official Haute Couture house to La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
• Her work is exceptional. Hanae Mori excelled at these beautiful prints that combined nature with elements of her home.
• The dress is made out of one of her custom designed prints screened onto feather light deep blue silk. There is a secondary large dot pattern woven into the blue parts of the silk.
• The silk is light in weight and easy to wear. Think the weight of a fine silk scarf in terms of weight and feel.
• The entire dress has been printed with that gorgeous flower and leaf design. I love the colour combination of the deep blue with the bright pops of colour that cover it.
• The neckline is rounded and finished with a red silk piping. It parts in a slit down the front with four silk covered buttons closing it. This lets you wear it open or closed.
• The shoulders have padding that are rounded so the shoulders feel soft but with some structure. If you wanted it softer you could easily remove them.
• The sleeves extend straight out from there and have a piping detail at each end and again just past the shoulders. They are extremely wide and are just over 26" around. I love the movement this creates around you as you move.
• The inside of each sleeve is lined in red silk which means when you move your arm you get that unexpected flash of colour.
• It is cut to have the feel of a caftan and it skims loosely over the body, gently widening out just a touch until it reaches the hem. The dress is cut to simply float over the body.
• It has a slit on one side at the hem and this adds to the movement it has once on the body. The slit is defined by red silk piping.
• The dress sits loose and easy over the body. If you did want to add shape, you could add a belt or sash around the waist and this would completely change the look of the dress.
• This is a dress that you slip on and feel completely comfortable when wearing it and yet it has as much drama and impact as you could ask for. It is a stunning example of her work and beautifully made.
• The dress is unlined through the body and slips over the head to wear. Each sleeve is lined in red silk. Four buttons at the neck as described above. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• This dress is from the 1960s Oscar de la Renta boutique label
• It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
• The Oscar de La Renta boutique label first appeared in 1967. His boutique label is important as it is know for being the first ready-to-wear line for a Seventh Avenue designer to be launched. These early pieces have lots of hand finishes and are just stunning examples of his work during these early days of his career.
• The dress is made out of a deep blue silk organza that has a touch of transparency. The fabric has a slight texture to it and it has an almost crisp feel. It is printed and has a metallic gold thread added to the fabric. 
• The organza is shot through with gold thread on specific parts of the dress to highlight the design. Oscar loved this technique during this time period and you see this often in his work from this era.
• Just enough gold has been added to let the fabric shimmer softly as the light catches it from every angle.
• The top neckline of the dress has been finished with a wide ruffle of the same fabric. There is a band of the silk between the ruffle and the shoulder, so that you can wear the dress on top of the shoulder and have the ruffle frame your face. However, you can also wear it completely off of the shoulder to leave the shoulders completely bare. I love that the way it is designed gives you that versatility.
• The sleeves are kept simple and have been left semi-sheer with no lining so that you really get a sense of that incredible pattern.
• Under that extravagant ruffle around the neckline the bodice skims down to the seamed waist.
• The dress comes with its original wide sash made out of a double layer of the same fabric. This allows you to cinch in the waist as much as you wish.
• The skirt billows out from the waist and widens out as it falls perfectly to the floor. I love the fullness through the skirt.
• The dress is fully lined in a blue silk and closes with a combination of a back zipper and snaps. The sash belt is original to the dress. It appears to have been worn very little if at.

• This is a gorgeous Christian Dior dress that dates to the 1970s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan
• It is a wonderful example of the work being done during this time period and shows how well the label could be when it delved into a more minimal cut combined with that full out glamour.
• The dress has classic feel of the best of Old Hollywood and the closer you get to it the more you see the incredible and elaborate amount of detail that has been put into it.
• The dress is made from a soft grey silk chiffon with a curving pattern worked over it made from matte silver sequins. 
• The silver sequins are set in pretty curves that create individual little designs, and then these are set by side-by-side over the entire dress. It gives it a slight Art Deco feel.
• The top sequined layer sits over an inner pale baby blue lining. This tiny little shot of colour underneath creates a pretty overall colour to the dress. It is very clever.
• The dress is suspended from two silk chiffon straps that curve over each shoulder. The front neckline dips into a slight V and the back is a simple scoop.
• The front is a more halter and then the dress falls from there. It is cut to skim over the body from bust to hips with no seaming to break the design of the sequins.
• The shape of the dress is created by vertical seaming. The skirt widens out a touch as it nears the hem.
  
• The sequins appear to have been applied by hand and catch the light from every angle.
  
• The dress is fully lined in a baby blue synthetic fabric. It closes with a back zipper. I see some small repairs around the hem. The dress came to me hemmed up and I decided to let it down to its full original length even though this disclosed some of the repairs around the hem. I see a slight bit of darkening around the edges of the bottom, near the zipper and on the straps. There is a tiny bit of fraying on the top of the straps. Please see the pics after the label show.

• It was made under the creative direction of Adele Simpson.
• Adele Simpson launched her label in 1949 and remained at its helm until the early 1980s. She became known as 'America’s First Ladies’ Designer' after dressing 6 first ladies over the course of her long career.
• She was also one of the founders of both the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Fashion Group International (FGI).
• Her pieces were well made ready-to-wear at prices that were attainable for the modern woman. She was once asked what fashion was to her and she replied that for her it was 'a fascination with the way people all over the world express their sense of beauty.'
• This is a beautiful example of her work during this point of her label.
• The dress is made out of a very pretty light in weight blue silk that holds the shape and volume very well.
• The dress has a simple wrap silhouette. You simply slip your arms in and then hook it into place along the waist. The brilliant pink silk sash ties around you so that you are able to cinch it as much as you need.
• You could dramatically change the look at the dress by changing the sash out for a belt or a different colour sash. I love the versatility that this gives you.
• The top has an inner body with a panel that drapes over your shoulders and down the top of the arm. This continues around all the way to give you that lovely cape effect that you see.
• The waist is defined by a wide 3.5" band of the same silk.
• The skirt is set in along the waist and lightly gathered. This is what gives you the fullness all the way around you. 
• Inside the back of the skirt is an added attached panel of black netting that has been stiffened and starched and this helps to hold the volume of the dress away from the body slightly to add to the fullness that it has.
• The skirt is cut so that it is shorter at the front and then falls into a peak at the back. This allows for a bit of leg to show as you sit and move. 
• The dress is fully lined in a second layer of the same fabric. It closes at the waist with a series of flat hook and eye hidden inside and along the outside once it is wrapped into place. If you needed more or less room at the waist you could move the hooks as needed. The measurements below are based on where the hooks are set at the moment. I see some marks at one end of the sash.

• The fabric on the dress dates it to the 1972 collection. He did use some fabrics similar in 1971 as well so it is in that range.
• It was made under the creative direction of Jules-Francois Crahay.
• Crahay headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984 and he has been noted as one of fashion’s 'great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugely desirable and influential.'
• His time at the Lanvin label is one of my personal favourites for the house. I especially love the his work during the period through the late sixties and into the early 1970s.
• He was a genius at print and colour and he pushed the envelope in terms of using cutting edge fabrics available during this time period. This Lanvin dress is gorgeous and is from the main label.
• The dress has a gorgeous colour and print combination and it is made from mixing two fabrics and both hold colour exceptionally well so the colours are still crisp bright and true.
• The top portion of the dress is an easy silk jersey and then the skirt is one of his signature waffle weave cottons.
• The sleeves are long and simple. The neckline is scooped with a slightly wide cut. The top skims over you and the back goes down in a scoop to leave a bare expanse of skin showing.
• The waist is seamed and I love how the skirt is set into the waist in soft gathers so that it puffs out slightly around the waist. It also has a bit of a wrap effect where one side is open down the full length, but it is fully wrapped underneath so that you are completely covered.
• From there the skirt falls to the floor and it widens as it nears the hem.
• The fabric change on the skirt gives it a touch of weight so that it holds the shape well. The pattern is the same on both fabrics and yet they look slightly different because of the change in texture. It is brilliant.
• This full on pattern from head to toe makes the dress instantly recognizable as a piece of his work.
• The bodice is unlined and the skirt is fully lined in a white silky rayon. It closes with a back zipper. I see what looks like remnants of a lining here and there along the seams of the top. I see a small mark at the front. Please see the photo after the label shot. Hand finishes. The fabric of the top has some stretch and I have put the comfortable range below.

• Based on the jagged flame pattern on the dress, this dress is almost certainly from the 1973 season.
• It was made under the creative direction of Loris Azzaro
• Loris Azzaro launched his label in 1967 and quickly defined his trademark looks by using ornate fabrics and avant garde ways of defining the body. Some of the most beautiful women in the world wore his clothing including Marisa Berenson, Raquel Welch, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Tina Turner.
• It was a label that defined sexiness and had a certain French flare that women world-wide loved. By the seventies and eighties he was experimenting with volume and proportions and new fabrics that at the time were all cutting edge. This is a stunning example of his work during the mid-seventies.
• This is a dress that will come to life even more once on an actual body and I hope the photos convey enough of how fabulous it is because when worn this one will be even better.
• The entire body of the dress is covered with densely applied black sequins and these catch the light from every angle.
• The sequins are set in long vertical rows to the hem and appeared to have been all hand placed.
• The top of the bodice is a single layer of black silk chiffon. This bit of transparency adds an incredibly sexy feel. 
• He used that same silk chiffon down the back where it dips into a low scoop.
• I love the way that the jagged flame pattern defines the bust and that low scoop at the back.
• A high slit up one side lets you have the perfect flash of skin when you walk or sit.
• The dress is fully lined through the body in a black silk and it zips to close at the back.

• This dress is from Fall 2007 John Galliano collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• We have included a photo of six and we believe that this is the dress that the other pieces in the photo are layered over top. You can see the hem of this dress peeking out underneath the trench coat in this look.
• The dress is made out of a combination of an ivory silk chiffon that is covered in an ivory net lace.
• The dress has a strong nod to the flapper dresses of the 1920s. It is generously cut through the waist and has a scooped neckline.
• The straps are wide and it falls loosely over the bodice to the waist.
• The waste is also cut on the more generous side and has a band of fabric around it to give a bit of definition.
• The skirt falls over there skimming over the waist and widening out a touch as it near the hem. You can see the more tubular feel of the dress that is the nod to the pieces from the 1920s.
• Silk chiffon has been formed into little rosettes on either side of the buttons that run down the side of the dress. Panels of chiffon wrap around the waist from the flowers to add a bit of detail and shape.
• There is a long panel of silk that hangs from one of the rosettes at the front. You can allow it to just trail down the front or hook it over one of the rosettes at the back to create a pretty draping down the full side of the skirt.
• The dress is very light in weight and just preferably made.
• The silk chiffon underlay acts as the lining and closes with the series of silk covered buttons down the side. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This is a more recent Givenchy piece and is a great and easy dress to wear.
• It is made out of a vivid pink silk chiffon with a softer pink silk lining. This keeps it nice and light in weight and gives it a pretty drape.
• The dress is suspended from tiny straps that curve up and around the neck. At the back, they fall down the bar expensive skin there and each one ends with an elaborate finish of big iridescent round beads. The two ties each have a different amount of bees on the end, and that same little quirky detail is picked up on the tiny little beads that sit on the top of each strap as well with one side having more than the other. 
• At the front you are covered by two long triangles of the silk which create a deep plunge all the way to the waist.
• The back is left completely open and bare and I love how sexy this is when you turn around.
• The waist is cinched and highlighted with a pink band of silk that has a different finish and has top stitching set horizontally all the way around.
• The skirt falls in different lengths with jagged edges. It is amazingly full, and having all of those links, gives it an incredible amount of movement when you move walk or twirl. The chiffon of the skirt has been lightly pleaded, but purposely allowed to soften and open.
• This would be an incredible dress to dance in.
• The dress is fully lined in a pink silk and closes at the back with a hidden set zipper. It ties behind the neck. I see a small mark on the back of the skirt. The pink is perhaps a little less vivid than how it photoed with a touch of coral to it

• The dress dates to the 1970s making it an earlier piece of his work.
• It was made under the creative direction of Bill Blass
• Blass launched his label in 1970 when he bought out the Maurice Rentner label and re-launched it under his own name. 
• Blass was arguably one of the most famous of  the American designers. His forte was the ability to mix simple styles with luxurious materials and his evening wear in particular seemed to have a way of flattering the wearer. He knew how to walk that line perfectly.
• The dress is made from a light weight black silk organza and it is an easy-to-wear and very pretty dress.
• The dress is made to look as if it wraps around you but it actually is fully secured all the way around. The bodice has a cross over front and it skims over you to the waist.
• At the back it closes with a hook and eye at the top of the neck and then there is an open keyhole slit to where the zipper begins just above the waist.
• I love how the back and upper part of the shoulders are made from only one layer of the organza so that they have a touch of transparency.
• This transparency has been carried over to the sleeves as well. The sleeves are spectacular. Each one is extremely full and balloons out over the cuffs. They are also open with a keyhole from the top of the shoulder to the wrist. The wrist is highlighted with a bow made from the same organza and then you have a huge double ruffle of silk that falls over your hands.
• The waist is brought in and has an attached band of the same organza that you tie to one side.
• Under that the skirt falls to the floor and widens out beautifully. It is scooped up at the front at one side and there is another double layer of ruffles that begins at the top of the hip and then falls all the way to the floor. It follows the edge of the skirt all the way around the back and then scoops up the other side. This adds that incredible volume and drama to the skirt that you see. 
• The skirt is lined underneath and the inner skirt has a smaller open slit so that your full leg is not exposed. If you wanted to, you could easily expand that inner slit so that opened all the way up and you more of your leg.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk. It closes at the back of the neck with a hook at the top of the neck and a zipper starting just above the waist. Each cuff hooks to close and the belt at the waist snaps into place. Perhaps the tiniest bit of fading to an edge here or there but this is a natural occurrence with this type of fabric in this age of garment and I am being pretty picky.

• This neckline and silhouette was seen around the 1973 time period and this is a very pretty example of that era.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent. 
• The fabric is a beautiful light weight black silk chiffon that has a pattern cut out from a similar fabric fused onto that. I love this play on transparency that it gives the silk.
• The cut of the dress is incredible and very easy to wear. The neckline is squared off at the front and then scoops at the back. 
• The border of the neckline has been finished in the same fabric and love the suggestion of a yoke collar that this creates.
• The sleeves are fabulous. Each is cut to be very full so that they balloon out over their elastic cuffs. They are not lined so you get that pretty transparency between the fused on pattern. 
• The cut through the bodice is very loose and easy. It simply skims over you to the slightly dropped waist seam. 
• The waist is cut very generously and for some of these photos I have tied a black ribbon around where the natural waist sits so that you can see how it looks once you add more shape. I love that you can wear it either way. 
• The skirt falls from the dropped seam and is gathered in tiny gathers all the way around. This allows the skirt to flare and open out slightly as it nears the floor. An extra wide ruffle of the same fabric runs around the lower portion of the skirt to create two tiers. There is no lining through the skirt so it allows you to wear as little or much underneath as you wish.
• The quality of the fabric is beautiful and the workmanship in this dress is fabulous. It really showcases just what a genius he was that he could create such a simple piece with such a masterful hand. 
• I love the play on transparency the dress has and the dress in person is even prettier than how it photoed here I think.
• The dress is lined through the bodice to the drop seam of the waist and the sleeves and skirt are unlined. It slips over the head to wear. The ribbon ties around the waist and some photos are not original to the dress but will be included.

• This sweater coat is from the Fall 2006 Galliano collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• It is made out of a light in weight knit that combines several different weaves to create the overall effect the coat has.
• The part of the collar that curves around the neck is done in a wide ribbing and then it notches, and the lower part of the collar is a combination of a loose ribbon weave with a more chunky feeling knit. It runs down the front to about the waist.
• The sleeves are long and I love the little flare at the end of each sleeve. Here again we see that more loose knit effect and a more exposed seam that runs down the length of the sleeve and around where it is set into the body of the coat. 
• It is cut with a bit of a great coat feel to it. It is shaped to come in at the waist and then the bottom flares out. This is all achieved by ribbed seams that expand outward as it near the hem. Around the hip area you see another inset of that more loose weave that adds texture and a bit of colour detail.
• It closes with double buttons set lower down the front. The buttons are quite fantastic. Each one is stamped with an elaborate design and has open cut work. They are a muted and blackened silver toned metal.
• The coat is unlined and buttons at the front to wear. It looks to have been worn very little if at all.

• This exceptional little jumpsuit would be from the 1970s
• It made under the creative direction of the original Loris Azzaro
• The jumpsuit is made out of a white silk jersey that has lots of drape and movement.
• The bodice is strapless, and I love the rounded peak around the neckline.
• All of the fabric of the bodice has been gathered into a centre point on both sides. Inside there is boning to help hold the jumpsuit in place around you.
• The waist nips in and the jumpsuit comes with a matching tie belt that you can use to cinch the waist in as much as you want.
• The tie belt is extra long so it can be wrapped and tied as you wish. I love the fringed tassels that fall from each end of the belt.
• Below the waist it curves very full and easy over the hips and this then falls into these amazing draped harem feel pants.
• The draping through the pant is extensive and they are extremely elaborate down each side as the fabric curves down the leg and then narrows back in at the ankle.
• The fabric is light and easy to wear and it is a fantastically fun and yet still very sexy piece.
• The bodice is lined and the pants are unlined. There is light boning and cups through the inner bodice. The jumpsuit closes with a back zipper and the built-in bra hooks to close at your back. There is lots of stretch and I have put the range when lane flat below. If you are small around the upper back there should be room for an A to small B cup.

• The dress is from the 1990s Givenchy wedding dress line.
• It is made from an beautifully weighted ivory silk that has a bit of a silver undertone to it. This gives it a bit of an icy finish in feel.
• The dress comes with a matching oversized and long panel of the same fabric that is double-sided and beautifully finished. It can be worn draped around the shoulders.
• The bodice is strapless with inner structure to hold the dress in place. It curves slightly upwards at the front and then curves down into the very slightest bit of an angle at the back for a pretty line.
• The waist comes in by the gathering in at the back for shape and then the skirt curbs back out over the hips. From there it falls to the hem and slightly narrows inwards for a pretty line.
• The back is spectacular. All of the silk has been gathered in along the centre seam that runs from top to bottom. It is this gathering that creates all of the shape at the front and then when you turn you get this beautiful unexpected effect.
• Extra fabric is built in from the waist down to add a bit of a flare and shape. That portion of the back is also extended slightly in length so that you get some movement as you walk.
• The dress is fully lined in a pale pink silk adding an unexpected romantic touch.
• Fully lined in a pale pink silk and it closes with a back hidden set zipper. There is a hooked waist stay inside. I see a slight faint mark on the bodice and there is some grubbiness along the edge of the back skirt. A couple faint marks here and there on both the dress and shawl. • The label on this dress tells us that it is from the late 1970s. At this point Ossie's career he was just doing the occasional dress for a private client.
• Dresses with this particular label are not as easily found since they were mostly one of a kind pieces made for clients. It is from a fascinating little bit of his history.
• It is a set of a halter dress combined with a full and open jacket.
• Both pieces are made out of a white bias cut jersey that has some movement and stretch.
• Two tiny straps made out of a matching white jersey curve over each shoulder. The front has two triangle halter fronts and the upper back is left bare and exposed.
• Each of the triangles at the front are covered in stacked overlapping rows of silver sequins with a bronze sequins edging the inner neckline edge. The sequins wrap all the way around you.
  
• From underneath the bust it falls loose and easy over the body. The skirt widens out as it reaches the hem. The easy cut through the body makes it very easy to wear and fit. The jersey keeps it light in weight.
• Over that is a matching jacket made out of the same white jersey. The sleeves are long and narrow in at the wrists. The shoulders have light padding and the jacket underneath has an amazing amount of fabric. It is cut to be very full and open so when you move you get fantastic movement.
• I love how each shoulder is detailed in the same stacked rows of sequins as on the halter. For these he reversed the colours with the bronze sequins taking centre stage and then those are edged with silver sequins. 
• Little slash pockets sit on each side of the jacket at the hips for the perfect slouchy feel.
• The back of the halter triangles at the front are fully lined in the same white jersey and then the rest of the dress and the jacket are unlined. The dress closes with three hook and eye at the side above a keyhole. The jacket has light padding in each shoulder and slips on to wear with a tie at the neck. I see a couple of marks on the jacket here and there. Please see the photos after the label shot.

• The dress is from the Fall 2005 Galliano collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• The dress is absolutely dreamy. It is meant to skim over the body and it has that beautiful movement that Galliano is so well known for.
• It is made out of a combination of a cut velvet floral fabric that has been applied to a printed bias cut brown backdrop. This gives it an amazing texture. Highlighting the seams are little inset panels of lace with more lace added around the hem and edges.
• The dress is suspended from the shoulders with two brown lace straps and the lace continues around the neckline. The front is set into a shallow V and the back repeats that same V finish.
• The silk  is cut on the bias and the entire dress skims over the body in that perfect way that he always cut a piece.
• The bias cut allows it to be easy fitting over the bust, waist and hips. It is not tight at all but does drape and fall to accent your shape once it is on the body.
• The skirt is made up of panels set in and along angled seaming that is very reminiscent of Old Hollywood dresses from the twenties and thirties. The skirt is made of two panels that expand outwards and are open along the sides. So when you walk or move you get a bit of leg and extra kick along the lower skirting.
• Each panel has elaborate lace edging with ruffles made out of the lace for a pretty and feminine finish. I love how this ties all the elements of the dress together.
• The skirt has an amazing amount of fabric in it and the cut and open sides allow the smallest bit of air to catch the skirt and let it move around you as you move. When this is on and you are walking the movement it creates is absolutely gorgeous.
• This is John at his best and it is a tremendously beautiful dress.
• The dress is fully lined in a brown silk and slips over the head with no closures. It is cut on the bias so we put the comfortable range of measurements when the dress is laying flat below. It appears to have been worn very little if at all

• This dress dates to the early 1970s based on the print that covers the dress which is very representative of the work being done during this era.
• It was made under the creative direction of Jules-Francois Crahay
• Jules-Francois headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984. He has been noted as one of fashion’s 'great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugely desirable and influential.' His time at the Lanvin label is one of my personal favourites for the house.
• The dress has a gorgeous bright colour and print combination that has pops of flowers in the mix.
• It is made out of a stretch synthetic jersey that keeps it light in weight and holds colour exceptionally well so the colours are still crisp and true. 
• The neck line has elastic through it so that it can sit fully off of the shoulders. I love the bare expanse of skin that this leaves exposed.
• The bodice is meant to skim over you with a more generous feel so it's easy to wear and fit.
• The cut is also more generous through the waist with a lower dropped seam. I have tied a black ribbon around the waist and you can see that it sits just above that seam. Depending on your height, that is how it should sit on the body. The ribbon will be included when the dress is sent. You could add any belt if you wanted to add even more structured shape or wear it without any for a more loose and easy feel.
• From there the skirt curves over the hips and widens as it nears the hem for some pretty movement. It falls to just past the knee, again, depending on your height.
• The colour combine pops of bright colours on a black backdrop and I love how the print is laid over the dress to emphasize the different parts.
• The perfect finish are those phenomenal sleeves. Each curves out from the edge of the neck line and as they near their ends they balloon out for a beautiful fullness just above the elastic wrist. 
• The dress is unlined and it closes with a back zipper. Elastic through the neck line and each cuff. The ribbon is not original to the dress but will be included.
• There's no size tag present so please go buy the measurements listed below

• The dress is a more recent one but has the has the same feel as some of the Spring 1978 Dior dresses that I have had in the shop in the past, and I believe that era may be the archival inspiration for this dress.
  
• It is a very pretty little dress and even without any firm documentation it is an absolutely beautiful dress in its own right.
• The dress is made out of a deep blue silk that is very light in weight and then it has a red heart print scattered over its surface.
• The dress is suspended from the shoulders from straps made out of the same silk. The top neckline is cut across and the entire neckline has elastic. The neckline continues past the straps and expands outwards to become the top of full balloon shaped sleeves. 
• Under that the silk skims over the bust and then the waist is banded. Attached to the top of the band at the back is a wide panel of a matching silk that extends out to very long ties. These wrap and cinch around you to add shape and detail at the waist.
• The skirt falls from there to just below the knee, depending on your height, and it floats outward for a bit of fullness and movement.
• The lightness of the fabric and ease in the cut allow it to move beautifully when you move and the cut through the body is loose and open so it is very easy to wear and fit.
• And above all else, I love the little scattering of hearts over the print. From a distance, it has a more dotted feel but as you get closer, you realize that it is little hearts.
• The dress is unlined and closes with a hidden set side zipper. Elastic through the neckline and at the end of each sleeve. The belt is attached and a part of the dress. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• Jan Faulkner is a leather artist who began her career about 30 years ago. This is an early piece of her work from the 1980s
• It is made out of a brilliant blue suede that has been dyed to the colour that you see.
• The suede is almost certainly deer skin as it is extremely soft and supple
• It has the big padded shoulders so common from the 1980s and these could easily be removed if you wanted a softer look. It slips over the head and is meant to be full and easy through the body.
• It comes with a matching belt that ties with a gold braided cord. You can wrap the belt around the lower hip or the waist. The belt is reversible with blue suede on one side and gold on the other.
• The sleeves are long and very full where they insert into the dress and then they narrow down slightly to the cuff.
• The entire dress has fringes made out of hand cut strips of the same suede. These are inserted and hand tied into the suede.
• Gold beads mixed with gold toned round beads are set scattered over the dress and also onto the fringes. More circle around the wide cut neck.
• It is meant to be worn oversized and if you cinch in the waist it becomes very short and can to be worn as an ultra mini or tunic.
• It slips over the head to wear with no closures.
• There is fading on end of the blue side of the belt and across the top of each shoulder. Otherwise excellent condition.

• This dress is from the 2007 Alexander McQueen season.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen.
• The cut of the dress is a play on a traditional men's tux. McQueen often pulled from menswear to add touches and play on gender and this is a gorgeous example of that.
• The dress is made from a beautifully weighted black silk that has a very slight texture running through it.
• It has that same liquid feel that the best of the 1930s pieces did that were made from this similar fabrics.
• Like those dresses of the thirties this is also cut on the bias but with a more shaped silhouette. I love that the fabric is heavy enough and that the dress is lined so that it will not highlight 'flaws' underneath like some bias cut pieces can.
• It is cut to flow over the body and skims over the bust, waist and hips to the floor.
• The neckline drops into a V at the front and has an amazing collar. The cop the part that runs behind the neck is small and neat, and then the larger dropped. Part of the collar has been completely covered in curving patterns of tightly spaced black sequins. I love how these pick up the light from every angle.
• The shoulders are soft and the sleeves have the slightest bit of flare at their ends.
• It glides over the bust and there is a a little faux slip pocket on one side. Everything is cut on the bias. It curves in slightly for shape around the waist and then back out and over the hips. 
• The skirt continues past and over the hips and then flares out as it reaches the hem. As it near the floor, it curves down and around you for a dramatic trained feel..
• This flaring out at the bottom and the extra silk at the back give you fabulous movement when you walk or move.
  
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set side zipper. The bias cut fabric has some stretch so should allow it to fit a range of sizes. The measurements below give you the comfortable range the fabric has when lying flat. It is in its original length. I see perhaps a touch of dustiness along the seam of the inner arm but it is very minor and mentioned for accuracy. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This gorgeous dress dates to the 1980s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Louis Feraud
• Feraud opened his first boutique in 1950 in Cannes selling sundresses to the jet set. By 1956 he had moved to Paris and opened a couture atelier and in 1960s made his first official couture presentation. Ready-to-wear followed in 1970. He won the Golden Thimble in in 1978 and again in 1984. 
• The dress is made out of a black silk chiffon that is densely covered in glossy black sequins. 
  
• The neckline is cut wide across and then a single layer of black silk chiffon covers to where the sequins start and extend out into the sleeves. 
• The sleeves are phenomenal. Each sleeve has three tiers of pleated silk chiffon wrapped around them. The ruffles start just above the elbow and then they fall in stacked tiers to the wrist. Each sleeve is wide and the layers create fantastic movement. I love how the upper portion of the sleeve is transparent and then you have the drama and movement of the lower part of the sleeves when you move.
• The sequins start just above the bust and the dress is cut to skim over you past the waist and hips and fall to the hem. As it nears the hem it widens out a touch for a really beautiful line.
• The sequins are densely applied to cover the entire dress from the top edge of the bodice all the way to the hem. The way this lets the dress catch the light from every angle is fantastic.
• A slit runs up from the hem on one side that lets a bit of leg to show when you walk or move.
  
• The body of the dress is lined in black and the upper bodice and sleeves are unlined. It closes with a back zipper that starts at the sequins and there is a button to close behind the neck with an open slit between.

• The label on this piece dates it to the mid-late 1980s, maybe early 1990s 
• It was made under the creative direction of Carolina Herrera.
• She launched her label in 1981 and prior to that had been known as a style setter.
• This is a fantastically rare and wonderful piece from those earlier days and it is one of the best capes that I think I have ever come across in all of my years of doing vintage.
• The knits used in it feels like it is a combination of an angora and mohair. Mixed in with that are gold and a reddish gold metallic thread used for some of the long rows that run the length of the cape.
• This mix of autumn feeling colours is just phenomenal and the metallic pieces that are woven in with the knit add a beautiful subtle shimmer to the entire cape.
• The knits have been set in long vertical rows that run the entire length of the cape. 
• I love how the panels are sewn more tightly together to about the waist area and then they open up. This technique gives you extra volume for the bottom portion of the cape.
• There are no arm openings on this one. It simply slips on to the shoulders and then ties at the neck with long matching knit ties.
• Inside, the cape is finished in a deep burgundy so you get a gorgeous flash of a solid colour when you move.
• There is padding through the shoulders to help add structure so that it sits properly on top of the shoulder.
• The cape slips on and ties at the neck. It is fully lined in a burgundy silk. I see some light discolouration here and there along the lining. Please see the photo after the label shot. The exterior is pristine.
• There is no size tag present and the easy cut should allow it to fit any size. On a smaller frame it will drape more.
• Excellent condition

• This is a more recent Givenchy piece and is a great and easy dress to wear.
• It is made out of a ivory crepe silk with a silk lining. This keeps it nice and light in weight and gives it a pretty drape.
• The dress is suspended from tiny straps that curve up and around the neck once it is wrapped around you. At the back, they crisscross over each other. To wear the dress, you slip your arms through the straps, wrap and hook it into place inside and out. A little hidden snap sits along the neckline.
• Wrapping it creates a V at the front and the back is scooped to leave your back bare and exposed.
• Attached all along the edges of the entire dress are white fringes and I love how these add movement and added texture to the dress. This would be an incredible dress to dance in.
• The fringes follow the angular hem all the way around. One side of the hem sits shorter and then the other one longer.
• It is very easy to wear dress that would make a great piece as part of a wedding celebration or to just go out and dance in.
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk and wraps and hooks to close. Little darts have been added at the sides of the back and I have left it as found. There is a tiny bit of fraying under one strap on the inside lining. Please see the photo after the label shot.

• This is a very pretty Valentino dress from the 2000s and is from the main label.
• It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino.
• The dress is made out of a beautiful red silk crepe  and then is highlighted with a more matte satin finish in the same red for the contrasting details.
• The dress curves over the shoulders and it is set so that it sits a bit wider across the front.
• The neckline comes down into a V and the fabric on each side of the neckline flips over to form the suggestion of a small collar.
• Starting at the top of the neck on each side are two bands of silk that run vertically side-by-side all the way down the length of the entire dress to the hem. They are split partway up from the hem to create a slit so you get a flash of leg when you walk.
• A small band of the same fabric crosses over those just below the bust and then there are these very pretty and interesting partial bows made out of the same silk. They sit up and off the dress on either side a touch and create a very pretty point of interest.
• Pin tuck seams give some shape around the waist and add a little extra added detailing.
  
• From there it skims over and past the waist and then curves over the hips. The skirt falls to the floor in a beautiful column of red and flares out quite a bit as it nears the hem. 
• The back of the dress is cut slightly longer and has extra fabric built-in so that you have a beautiful bit of a sweep behind you as you walk. I love how the dress falls in the lovely folds that you see in these photos.
  
• The dress is fully lined in a red silk. It closes with a hidden set back zipper that follows one of the seams at the back to give the appearance that there are no closures. I see a bit of grubbiness along the back hem here and there. It is very minor but mentioned for accuracy.
• There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.

• The dress dates to the late 1970s
  
• The Lillie Rubin label was the name of a chain of boutiques that sold mainly evening wear under their own label and they carried other labels as well. Pieces often had both the Lillie Rubin shop label and the designer label. So it is always a mystery when you find one with only the one label on whether or not it's by a more famous designer.
• The base fabric is a light ivory silk that is cut on the bias so that the dress drapes over you to skim and highlight your curves without having a super tight fit. 
• The bodice crosses over itself at the front and is meant to be more loose and generous in feel. I love how one side is finished in rows of sequins and beads and then the other side has a more elaborate floral beaded pattern on it.
• The waist is brought in and seamed for shape and then the rest of the dress just flows over you over you. This makes the. cut of the dress very flattering and an easy silhouette to wear.
  
• Highlighting the waist area is a wide angled panel that narrows in on one side. This is a clever detail that adds the illusion of a smaller waist. I love that the beads have been purposefully set to follow that shape.
• The dress falls to the floor from their with a slit running up one side so that when you move you get a flash of leg.
• Long vertical rows of iridescent ivory sequins have been placed so that they slightly overlap each other as they run down the length of the dress. Sitting beside each sequin row are vertical rows of ivory tube beads that are also an iridescent ivory. 
• I love how all of the extensive beads and sequins catch the light from every angle with your slightest movement.
• The arms and neckline are perfectly finished with an edged band of the same beads run in the opposite way.
• The dress is unlined and closes with a side set zipper. I see some slight stretch to a seam that I have shot for you, and there is a tiny dark mark on a couple of sequins that I also have shot for you to see.
• There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.

• This would date to the late 1970s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston.
• I recently had a red version of this Halston IV line dress in the shop and it instantly became one of my favourites. I love it even more in this ivory.
• The design is so simple but at the same time it has so much impact with its low plunge front and sexy feel created by the easy wrap design.
• The cut of this dress is perfectly in line with what he was doing with his main label during this time period.
• The base fabric is a synthetic ivory jersey that has the added bonus of being easy to care for and travel with.
• The dress feels very sexy but in an easy-to-wear kind of way.
• It slips on and closes at the waist with hidden hook and eye.
• The way that is wraps insecure into place keeps you fully covered but still allows for the skirt to open to show your legs when you walk.
• The dress has its original extra long tie belt in the same fabric that you can wrap and tie around you to cinch in the waist as much as you want.
• The dress falls to the floor from the waist and the skirt widens out slightly as it nears the floor.
• The top is spectacular. It is cut to skim over you to the waist and the front wraps over itself. The sleeves begin just above the waist and are cut wide and straight. That makes them very full and they sit beautifully on the body.
• The dress is unlined and wraps and hooks to close as described above. It comes with its original sash tie belt. The dress could be easily adjusted by moving the hooks at the waist if needed. The measurement below is where they presently are. You could easily have them moved up or down at least a couple of inches either way.

• This dress is from the 2010 Alexander McQueen season.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen.
• A copy of this dress that was re-issued in an ivory for the 2011 wedding collection and versions were also made in 2007. 
• I love having this version. It has that same bias cut draped feel as the McQueen that Elle Fanning borrowed and wore recently so we have added a photo of that to give you an idea of it on.
• The dress is made from a beautifully weighted silk that has that same liquid feel that the best of the 1930s pieces did that were made from this similar fabrics.
• The colour is fascinating. It is a black in most lights, but in certain bright lights it has a blue undertone that comes out and gives it the appearance of an almost deep deep blue black.
• Like those dresses of the thirties this is also cut on the bias but with a more shaped silhouette. I love that the fabric is heavy enough and that the dress is lined so that it will not highlight 'flaws' underneath like some bias cut pieces can.
• It is cut to flow over the body and skims over the bust, waist and hips to the floor.
• The neckline drops into a V at the front. It glides over the bust and there is a soft curving seam that starts at the bust and runs down into the side seam. This not only helps to add a little shape but it also becomes this interesting design feature and a subtle way for him to work in one of his signature angled seams.
• The skirt continues past and over the hips and then flares out as it reaches the hem. At the back there is extra fabric worked around the centre seam to give you a trained effect behind you.
• This flaring out at the bottom and the extra bit at the back give you fabulous movement when you walk or move.
• The sleeves are incredible. They are set in these soft loops around each arm. They leave the sides of the shoulders bare and really add to the thirties feel of the dress.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk mix and closes with a hidden set back zipper. The bias cut fabric has some stretch so should allow it to fit a range of sizes. The measurements below give you the comfortable range the fabric has when lying flat. It is in its original length.

• This jacket has the Christian Dior-New York label in it and is considered to be demi-couture from this time period of Dior's history. These where made for the American market and were most often based on the Haute Couture runway designs with many of the same high standard finishes that Haute Couture pieces incorporated. 
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan
• This would be an incredible piece for any collector and it is almost shocking how modern it feels despite its actual age.
• The jacket is made out of a butter soft deep mustard coloured suede that is very pliable. It is perhaps a touch more pastel in person than how it photoed here.
• There is no collar. It simply has a band of the same suede that runs around the back of the neck and all the way down the front.
• The shoulders are soft and slightly sloped and the sleeves are short. Each sleeve is finished with the same band of the suede around their ends that the front has.
• The jacket has no closures so if you wear it without the belt it has an almost cardigan feel to it. It skims over the bust, past the waist, and then widens out as it nears the bottom hem.
• It comes with its original belt that is backed in a leather and stamped with the Dior name. You can wrap it fully around you or leave the front partially open and use the belt to add shape.
• I love the three top set flap pockets. There is one tiny one at the top of the chest and then one sits on each hip. All three pockets are fully functional.
• This is just an incredible and rare piece of Dior history.
• The jacket is fully lined in a matching colour silky rayon. It has no closures and can be worn with or without the belt. The belt is a slip buckle, so can be adjusted as needed. There is perhaps the slightest bit of rubbing to the suede at the more common touch points and a couple of tiny little darkened spots on the suede but it is very minor and it adds to the perfect patina this vintage piece has. • It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• This is a gorgeous little set that is very pretty and has that perfect feel of the work that Galliano was doing for the label during this time period.
• I always love finding a pretty little set like this because it just gives you more options to be able to style the pieces. With this set you also have the option of wearing the top tucked into the skirt or letting it lay above the skirt's waist-line for a softer feel. Both pieces will also mix and match with other things you already have in your closet.
• The pieces are made from a beautiful light in weight silk that has a secondary deeper ivory flower woven into it with a different finishing thread.
• Small medallions of embroidered flowers paired with a scattering of gold flower and leaves cover the fabric. These give the fabric an almost antique feel that is gorgeous.
• The top buttons to close and it is suspended from the shoulders by tiny straps that come out from the centre of the top and cross over the upper back on the other side.
• The top has the feel of a lingerie piece with soft gathered cups and little insets of lace underneath the breasts.
• Both the top edge of the camisole and the bottom hem are detailed with a lace finish that has a pretty ivory ribbon running through it.
• The top buttons to close up the front. My dress form doesn't have quite enough chest to really have this sit on it properly but it will be better on an actual body.
• The skirt is a little masterpiece. It has a banded waist for shape and then it is made of several panels placed horizontally on curving bands down the skirt. When you lay it out flat it is tremendously full across the bottom and this is what lets it fall in those pretty folds that you see here.
• It is a gorgeous little set.
• Both pieces of the set are unlined. The top closes with a series of Mother-of-Pearl appearing buttons down the front that have Dior engraved into them. The skirt zips to close with hidden set snaps on the waistband. I see that the very bottom button is missing.

• This is a spectacular vintage Valentino from the main Valentino line.
• It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino.
• This is the full two piece set that consists of a stunning a little top and its matching skirt. Having the two pieces means you can mix and match it with other things you already own.
• Thousands of little gold sequins in three shades of different metallic gold cover a layer of lace and netting on both pieces with different degrees of coverage.
• The top has a base of an embroidered lace and netting. The embroidery forms the suggestion of flowers and also creates the elaborate edgings of the top. The sequins are applied onto that to highlight the design and give some coverage while still allowing a slight bit of transparency underneath. The top is lined in a second layer of netting, but you do get transparency through the design. It is fantastic.
• The neckline of the top is high to frame the neck. The shoulders are soft and curved down into pretty sleeves that have a scalloped finish. That same scalloping finish also edges the bottom hem.
• This is a top that is meant to be worn untucked. There is a band of gold silk that wines through the waist of the top and ties at the front to send it in for added shape. It skims over the bust above and then curves out over the hips below.
• The skirt is equally as fabulous. It has an inner hidden banded waist for shape and then it curves over the hips and falls in a chic little pencil to just above, or at, the knee, depending on your height.
• The skirt has a dense coverage of the same sequins that highlight the shape of the top. Here there are no gaps left in between and the sequins are applied so heavily that some of them actually sit off the skirt for added texture and a slight 3D feel.
• I love the contrast created between the two pieces by changing the density of the sequins. It makes the set feel even more luxe and rich.
• I have taken close-up shots of the sequin work for you to see how beautiful it is. There are three shades of sequins used in the pattern a more shiny light gold a matte deep gold, and an almost copper coloured version. The combination of the three are what give the set a beautiful extra glint in the light. These are all set to form the pattern that you see over the entire set. 
• With all of the sequins and beads applied onto it the pieces catches the light perfectly from every angle and every angle that you view them from is absolutely stunning.
• This is an outstanding example of how good Valentino can be and the very high level of quality original Valentino was made at.
• The top closes with a hidden set side zipper and also has a hidden side zipper at the back of the neck. The skirt closes at the side with a hidden set zipper.

• This gorgeous ODLR dress that dates to the late 1980s maybe early 1990s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
• It is a classic design that is extremely wearable. You see this silhouette repeated in variations throughout his career and it is very flattering once it is on the body.
•  The dress is made out of the perfect deep fuchsia pink silk that has a touch of a deep coral undertone. It is strapless and the neckline curves around and over the bust on a slight upwards curve. The strapless silhouette leaves your upper back bare and exposed.
• The seamwork on the top portion of the dress has all been done vertically and this is what shapes it to hug your bodice and curve in at the waist.
• Inside there is a full built-in corset encased in its own layer of pink silk. It is cupped, boned and shaped for support with its own zipper and hook at the waist. This is what holds the dress in place around you..
• The skirt is spectacular. Here you see the full genius of Oscar. The skirt has a ton of volume to it that shows best when you move.
• The skirt becomes wider and more full as it nears the hem. At the back it falls longer then the front so that you get this pretty curve from the side along with a fantastic sweep of skirts from the back. 
• The way that it is cut causes a natural inward curve at the sides. This gives it the feel of a more column shaped skirt from the front and it then curves slightly inwards and back out around you at the sides. When you move, that inward curve expands outwards to move with you so the skirt becomes fuller. It is just a beautiful silhouette and shows his skill at tailoring and cut.
  
• All of the volume through the skirt is created by the addition of a separate matching underskirt that is original to the dress. It has a silk inset around the hips for a proper fit and then has matching pink tulle that falls from the waist over the hips. I love that the front tulle has less layers and fullness than the back so that it matches and highlights the design of the ski skirt. I shot it from both the back and the front so you can see the change in volume.
• When this is on and you are walking, the effect and movement that it creates is absolutely gorgeous. It is so much better and more dramatic in person than how it looks on the dress form.
• The dress is fully lined in a matching pink silk organza. The interior corset is encased in pink silk and it closes with its own zipper at the side. A second hidden set zipper closes the dress over that. The inner corset is fully boned and cupped. An attached inner waist stay hooks to close. At some point the seams were let out a touch on at each side seam and you can see evidence of that. I have taken photos of both sides. There is some slight grubbiness around the hem here and there which is minor but mentioned for accuracy.
• Note that if you increase the size of the underskirt, the measurements of the actual dress should accommodate a small-medium. The modern size range mark below is based mainly on the measurements of the underskirt.
• The accompanying underskirt is tagged a vintage Oscar 8 and the dress has no size tag

• This early pretty silk chiffon dress dates to the 1980s.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of Hanae Mori.
• I love the pink striped silk chiffon that has a gold thread shot through the striped pattern. It is a beautiful fabric that is light and easy to wear.
• The gold thread runs vertically through the silk to accent the stripe pattern. It picks up on the light to give the dress a subtle shimmer.
• The front falls into a V neck and it buttons to close down the front. It comes with its original tie belt in a matching fabric that you can use to cinch in the waist as much as you like.
• The sleeves are long with a snap at their ends and the shoulders are soft with just a light padding to help hold the shape.
• The sleeves and the entire back have been left online so they have a slight bit of transparency. This is a very pretty detail.
• Under the waist the skirt is cut to be slightly more full. As it falls to the floor it widens out. This allows it to move beautifully around you as you move.
• It is a very pretty dress that is light in weight and I love the subtle touch of gold that runs through the fabric. I think it is even better in person.
• The front of the bodice and the skirt are lined in a nude silk chiffon. It closes with fabric covered buttons down the front and snaps at the waist. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This is a gorgeous dress from the Lanvin Spring 2011 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alber Elbaz.
• It's twin was worn by Kate Hudson that season for the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year gala. I love that these photo show you how spectacular this dress is once on the body.
• The dress is made of a very light in weight silk mix. The fabric is detailed with gold and silver metallic threads that give the entire dress a subtle glimmer. I love how the metallic feel is muted but it is still definitely a metallic feeling dress. 
• The mix of using both gold and silver threads let it catch the light in a different way, and it almost has a slight ballet pink tone to it. You can see that in the photos.
• All of the edges on the dress have been left raw and this is purposeful and was one of his signatures techniques.
• The fabric is gathered in on the side with the zipper and then it sweeps up to a wide set seam across the top of the shoulder. This drapes down over the very top of your arm in a very soft and pretty way.
• Inside the bodice there is a full built-in corset that is lightly boned and holds the dress in place around you.
• The fabric continues down from there to skim past the waist and hips. The lower skirt flares are quite a bit and one side falls longer for a beautiful line.
• There is a bit of a ruffle set on the other side of the zipper towards the back of the hip and a raw edged panel runs all the way down the length of the dress on the other side.
• The zipper is really what makes the dress. It is one of his signature exposed chunky zippers that runs down the side. What makes this one different is that it opens from the top and also from the bottom which allows you to make the slit that runs up the side as high as you dare to go.
• It is a phenomenal example of his patterning and draping skills.
• The dress is unlined except for that built-in corset. The corset closes with its own zipper and is lightly boned. It has an attached inner waist stay that hooks to close. The dress zips to close over that and you can open that outer zipper from both the top or the bottom as described above.

• This is a fabulous dress from the late 1990s Versace.
• It was made under the creative direction of Gianni Versace.
• The dress is very sexy with its cut out and made of a stretch fabric that hugs and shapes the body. All signatures of Versace from this time period.
• The colour is a bright chartreuse that is just an exceptional and unusual colour.
• There is light padding in each shoulder and this holds the dress and gives it a tapered feel to the waist.
• It skims over the body and then is gathered into one side at the waist. The other side has been left open with a cut out that exposes your bare skin. It is meant to drape down on the top of one hip. This open cut out continues from there to wrap around to the opposite side the back extending out the opening.
• Under the cut out on the hip the fabric has been gathered in on that side for added detailing. 
• The skirt falls from that point and narrows down as it reaches the hem.
• On the same side as the waist cut out there is a high slit that starts from the bottom of the gathering on the hip to the hem. This allows a mile of bare leg to show when you walk and move.
• A small gather of the fabric sits on the opposite side to that placed several inches above the hem.
• All of these gatherings and cut outs give it a really sculptural feel around the body.
• It is fully lined in a more matte version of the same stretch material. The fabric has stretch and the measurement below are the comfortable range when the dress is laying flat. It has no closures and slips on to wear.

• This incredible YSL jacket would date to the late 1970s, perhaps early 1980s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• The jacket was integral to every YSL collection and the ones like this that are especially ornate are among the most prize by collectors.
• The silhouette is classic Yves Saint Laurent from this time frame.
• The collar is neat and small. It can be worn flipped up to frame the face as I have photoed it or flipped down as it does have a backing of a soft black velvet.
• The shoulders have light padding for shape that extends into the cap of the shoulder to form that structured shape that you see. The sleeves are long and simple and have a cotton braid edging at their cuffs. This is a signature edging that Yves used throughout the years.
• The shape through the body is boxy so it is very easy to fit. On a smaller frame it would feel more oversized and on a larger frame it has the room to accommodate curves.
• It closes down the front with five matte black buttons. The jacket even has an extra button still sewn along the inner seam. The edging of the front and around the hem has the same cotton braiding finish as the sleeves.
• It is very well-made and an exceptional piece of YSL.
• The jacket is fully lined in a black silky feeling fabric with panels of black velvet along the inner edge behind the buttons. There is an extra button present. The box cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The Valentino Roma label launched in 2000 to take the place of the Miss V line. It was sold at a price point that was a bit more accessible then their main line and was meant to be available in more shops then the main line would be. The pieces were very well made. This one caught my eye simply because of how gorgeous and sexy it is. It is a stunning dress with beautiful lines.
• The dress is made out of a black silk chiffon that is cut on the bias and flows over the body beautifully. The fabric choice keeps the dress very light in weight and gives it beautiful movement. 
• The bodice is comes down into a V at the front and the silk is gathered on an angle over to the side. A deep V is also set at the back for a bare expanse of skin to show. One side of the V at the back extends out and curves around the waist and is secured in at one side under the bow. The gathering and draping over the body feels very inspired by the bias cut gowns of the thirties and forties.
• The bow is the key design point on the dress and it is so special feeling. It is made out of a rounded piped fabric that holds its shape. It is completely covered in tiny silver sequins, beads and rhinestones for the perfect little bit of glitz.
• The skirt falls from under there and it is draped heavier on the side where the silk angles upwards. This creates more of a draped panel down the side that sits directly under the bow. The skirt has an extra panel of chiffon added at the front and the drape is set on the side under the bow so that it curves upwards. So when you move you get fantastic movement when you move.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set side zipper.

• This is a very rare dress from the 1970s created by Holly Harp.
• Harp opened a shop LA in 1968 where she created custom clothing under the Holly's Harp label. When she started designing her clothing she tended to create her clothing out of a hodge-podge of new and old materials but once she opened her shop her designs became more slinky, and sexy. They began to reference the glamour of Old Hollywood and she preferred the bias cut feel of the 1930s.
• She had a huge following of Hollywood and Music stars; Liza Minelli, Diana Ross, Ali McGraw, Sally Field, Janis Joplin and Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane were all fans.
• This is a phenomenal dress from the early - mid 1970s and it is even better in person. The bias cut really needs a body in it to truly come to life.
• Dresses like this from her are impossible to find anymore. Her work is magical.
• The dress is made out of a bias cut black jersey that is light enough so that it drapes fantastically but also has enough weight so that it is opaque.
• The combination of the fabric and cut make it very easy and comfortable to wear.
• The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are set into the body of the dress starting off wide and then they narrow to a cuff at the wrist. This lets the fabric puff out slightly above each cuff.
• The neckline crosses over itself at the front and has long attached ties which tie around the waist for shape and to hold that front V perfectly in place.
• The dress skims over you all the way down the body to a low set seam under the waist. The dress ties at the waist and then that seam sits at the top of the hip.
• The skirt is fantastic and it is made out of two layers of the black jersey. This gives it the weight to fall in a smooth column when you stand still but also explodes with movement when you move. When you move it all moves around you and the lightness of the fabric makes it all feel incredibly easy on.
• The bodice has a second layer of the same fabric acting as the lining and the skirt is made of two layers of the jersey. It slips on to wear and crosses over itself at the front and ties. The fabric does have some stretch and I have put the comfortable range below.

• The dress dates to the 1970s and this is one of those things that you will only ever find in vintage. It is a remarkable vintage piece.
• It was made under the creative direction of Roland Klein.
• One of Klien's greatest claimed to fame was that he was one of the handful of designers that worked with Princess Diana.
• The dress is made out of a bright metallic silver lame that has a touch of structure that allows it to hold both its shape and those amazing pleats that run over the entire dress.
• The front part of the bodice is done in a series of angled knife pleating. This is shaped to have the feeling and shape of a fan on each side from shoulder to waist. In between the two side sides it plunges all the way to the waist and a small panel of the silver fabric covers the seam where the two panels meet at the waist.
• Underneath the outer panels of fabric are simple triangle shaped inner halters that keep you covered and holds everything in place. Ties extend out from the top to tie behind the neck.
• With only the two triangles at the front of the dress the entire back is subsequently left completely open and bare.
• The waist has elastic all the way around so it is incredibly easy to fit and very comfortable to wear.
• Under that is the skirt and the skirt is equally as phenomenal as the top. It is knife pleated into sharp pleats that run from the waist to the hem. There is an incredible amount of fabric in the skirt and when you lay out flat, it is more than a full circle around. This allows the skirt to flare out as it reaches the hem and really balance out the bodice.
• The fabric is ultra light in weight and between that and the pleats this has fantastic movement once it is on the body and you are moving.
• The dress is unlined and slips on wear with an elastic waist. It ties behind the back of the neck. The easy fit should allow it to work on a range of sizes. I see one tiny pinhole in a pleat on the skirt. 
• Excellent condition

• This dress is unlabeled but we have had it twin before so I know that it is by Fernando Pena.
• Fernando Pena was born in Spain and ended up based in Miami where he ran a small independent couture house.
• The first time I had this dress a bride bought it for her wedding.
• The dress is made out of a pale nude pink silk net that is covered in thousands of tiny glass tube beads hand sewn into place and following the vertical lines of the netting.
• The beads are done in rows of gold, pink and silver. A heavier bands of beads circle each cuff.
• A flower design runs across the front bodice and wraps around to the back. A second wide panel of beaded flowers runs just above and around the hem. 
• The edge of the neckline and hem are finished in a metallic silver thread.
• The shoulders have a tiny band of padding to create their caps.
• The dress is unlined so it does have some transparency through the netting.You could easily add a slip under it to make it opaque.
• It closes with a back zipper and each cuff has a small hidden set painted zipper. Hand work through out. It is easy to fit because of the loose cut through the body.
• There is no size tag present so please go buy the measurements listed below.

• This dress is from the 2007 Alexander McQueen season.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alexander McQueen.
• A copy of this dress that was re-issued in an ivory for the 2011 wedding collection. You will recall that I recently had a lace dress in that was made under the same circumstances where a original dress done by Lee was re-issued at a later date for a wedding collection.
• I love having the original and as far as I am aware it was only produced in black and this purple in 2007. It has that same bias cut draped feel as the McQueen that Elle Fanning borrowed and wore recently so we have added a photo of that to give you an idea of it on.
• The dress is made from a beautifully weighted purple silk that has a slight texture running through it.
• It has that same liquid feel that the best of the 1930s pieces did that were made from this similar fabrics.
• Like those dresses of the thirties this is also cut on the bias but with a more shaped silhouette. I love that the fabric is heavy enough and that the dress is lined so that it will not highlight 'flaws' underneath like some bias cut pieces can.
• It is cut to flow over the body and skims over the bust, waist and hips to the floor.
• The neckline drops into a V at the front. It glides over the bust and there is a soft curving seam that starts at the bust and runs down into the side seam. This not only helps to add a little shape but it also becomes this interesting design feature and a subtle way for him to work in one of his signature angled seams.
• The skirt continues past and over the hips and then flares out as it reaches the hem. At the back there is extra fabric worked around the centre seam to give you a trained effect behind you.
• This flaring out at the bottom and the extra bit at the back give you fabulous movement when you walk or move.
• The sleeves are incredible. They are set in these soft loops around each arm. They leave the sides of the shoulders bare and really add to the thirties feel of the dress.
• The dress is fully lined in a purple silk and closes with a hidden set back zipper. The bias cut fabric has some stretch so should allow it to fit a range of sizes. The measurements below give you the comfortable range the fabric has when lying flat. It is in its original length. I see perhaps a touch of grubbiness and scuffing near the hem bit it is very minor and mentioned for accuracy.
