I Have a Question
- I just had this dress in the shop and I am very pleased to have another so soon. This one is a smaller size than the one I just had.
- From the Spring 2020 collection that was produced for the shops that season.
- The dress was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli
- It is incredibly beautiful and it might even make an amazing wedding dress for the bride looking for a non-traditional choice or as an alternative dress in a more extended wedding celebration. And of course it could also be worn to any event.
- The original retail on this was over $15,000 US because of the extensive hand applied sequins.
- Even though the outer layer is netting and transparent it has a built-in inner silk chiffon lining that allows it to be opaque enough to be worn.
- Over that the dress is made from a double layer of a pale ivory netting that has that amazing sequin and bead design applied over its surface.
- The neckline is scooped and set wide across the front with a little bit of a draped effect that I absolutely love.
- The dress falls in a shift shape over the body with a generous but defined waist. It is a definite nod back to the 1920s. The lower skirt flares out from there and the vertical designs done in the gold sequins beads that circle around the hem emphasize the cut of the hem perfectly.
- The sequins and beads have been applied over the entire dress. I have taken close-up shots for you to see how beautiful it is. They mix tiny pale gold sequins with more copper feeling seed beads. Larger gold sequins have been embossed with a tiny pattern so they reflect the light differently. In between all of that are iridescent ivory sequins that give the dress a beautiful extra glint in the light. These are all set in vertical bands to form the pattern that you see over the entire dress. It is incredible.
- Because so much of the dress has those sequins applied onto it, the dress catches the light perfectly from every angle, and every angle but you view the dress from is absolutely stunning.
- At the back there is an open plunging V that leaves a good expanse of bare skin exposed. I love this nod to the sexiness of 1920s pieces.
- The dress closes at the back with a hidden set zipper.
- Tagged a modern Valentino 40 and it has its original Valentino hang tags in place.
- Excellent condition

I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress was Look 21 for the Resort 2020 presentation.
- The dress was made under the creative direction of founder Catherine Holstein.
- Holstein established Khaite in 2016 as the label’s designer, founder and creative director.
- “Khaite” is pronounced like “Kate” and was inspired by Holstein’s nickname, Cate. In Greek, Khaite means “flowing hair” which is a nod to the femininity of the label.
- This look is actually two pieces. There is the top overdress and then it came with a separate under-skirt that adds a ton of extra volume and makes it opaque enough to wear.
- Both pieces are made out of a deep burgundy netting that has a touch of a pink undertone to it. The colour is even better in person.
- The dress is a touch big on my dress form so on the right size it is going to sit even better.
- I love how she layered and draped the tulle on the one side of the bodice. That sweeping panel that goes up and over the shoulder and top of the arm is so very pretty. Then by using a only single layer of the netting over the other shoulder you get a play on transparency that is gorgeous.
- The waist is seamed with a raw edge finish. The skirt cascades down to the floor from there and there are many yards of netting used to make up the skirt.
- An inner separate skirt goes under that. It has a grosgrain ribbon band around the waist that hooks into place and then there is about 2" of a single layer of the tulle under that. The lower part of the skirt is gathered into the bottom of that layer. The lower part is made up of two layers and the gathering is heavier than what is done on the exterior skirt. This makes the bottom skirt very full and also makes it more opaque.
- I love that having that separate underskirt actually gives you a whole extra piece to wear on its own because you could wear it as a skirt in its own right.
- Both pieces are unlined. The dress slips on to wear and hooks to close at the back of the neck and zips at the side. The inner skirt hooks to close at the waist.
- Tagged a modern 10
- Excellent condition and was never worn.

valentino
Extraordinary Spring 2022 Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli Look 78 Burgundy & White Embroidered Robe Dress
I Have a Question
- From the Spring 2022 collection that was produced for the shops that season.
- Made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli
- This is an extraordinarily rare piece and only a few were made.
- Besides being the twin of a runway piece, one was also worn by Francesca Vecchioni to the Venice Film Festival that year. I love this lets you see how extraordinary this piece is on the body.
- It is one of the most elaborate and dramatic pieces I have had in the shop and it feels like it borderlines onto Couture.
- In Vogue's review they said that is was "a proposition of a beautiful, casualized couture wardrobe designed to float between genders: lightweight taffeta tailoring in vivid colours, plethoras of dresses from minuscule and cutaway to sweeping, embroidered caftans. The mini-maxi proportion play—like billowy volumes teamed with micro-shorts—provided a translated house glamour..."
- It is a piece that is meant to be worn oversized. Its extreme proportions are part of what gives it it's glamour.
- It is meant to be worn on its own as a standalone piece but you could also wear it layered over other things as a more evening coat/caftan feeling piece. Love that extra versatility.
- It is made out of a silk that has some structure to it so the shape is held. The front is primarily the deep burgundy and then starting at the shoulders and the top of the sleeves it changes to the white that you see running over the entire back.
- The collar is pointed and neat. It buttons down the front with matching silk covered buttons.
- It sits very generously over the body and widens out substantially as it near the hem. High slits run up each side and the buttons at the front end at approximately the same point as the height of the slits at the sides.
- The sleeves are extraordinary. He has basically left the entire inner seam open and made the sleeves very wide and full. The cuffs have been widened out dramatically. This combines to make the sleeves act like capes over your arms.
- It is interesting to note that there are actually a series of buttons on that underside where the sleeves are open. You can in theory close them and wear them as a proper closed sleeve. The look is meant for them to be open as it was shown on the runway and the red carpet but you do have that option.
- What makes the piece close to Couture is the extraordinary embroidery that runs over the entire thing.
- A beautiful design of flowers with 3D embroidered petals run over the entire piece highlighting its lines. I have taken photos and close-ups for you and its even better in person. I love the subtle bit of metallic thread that this adds to the piece and there are also tiny red and green sequins worked into the pattern. It is utterly amazing.
- A single pocket is set on top at the front for a nod to its shirt dress origins and it has pockets along each hip.
- It is fully lined in a white silk at the back and a burgundy silk for the front. It buttons down the front to close and the sleeves button as described above. It is wonderfully made and is just a truly extraordinary thing
- Tagged a modern 38 and meant to be oversized so should fit a large range of sizes.
- Excellent condition and appears to have never been worn
Sleeves: 24" from the dropped shoulder. They would be 19"around if you chose to button the sleeves on the underside.
Dropped shoulders: 19"
Bust: to 25" flat across from side seam to side seam and widens out more to the hem
Total length: 55" from waist to front hem, 59" to the back hem

christian dior
Pre-Fall 2023 Christian Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri Runway Look 56 Pink Strapless Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 56 for the Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
- Made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri.
- For her inspiration Maria looked back at the 1964 collection that Marc Bohan presented in India and then merged that with the long standing relationship the house of Dior has with artisans of India.
- The dress is made out of a soft pink silk shantung that holds its shape beautifully.
- The bodice is strapless and the seam under the bodice is set high. There is a full inner corset underneath that holds the dress in place around you. I love the soft pleating it has at the front so that it stands a little bit off the body.
- A panel of fabric is set along the seam under the bust and it extends out at one side to tie in a bow or simple knot depending on how you wish to tie it.
- The skirt falls from there and wraps over itself at the front. When you walk or move you get a slight bit of leg showing. It widen out as it near the hem.
- There are hidden pockets on each hip.
- The dress is fully lined in a matching pink silk. The inner corset is boned and closes with its own side set zipper. The dress closes over that with a hidden set side zipper.
- There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.
- Excellent condition
Bust: 15" flat across from side seam to side seam
Seam under the bust: 14.5" flat across from side seam to side seam

luisa beccaria
Prettiest Resort 2020 Luisa Beccaria Runway Look 24 Blue & Ivory Silk Chiffon Dress
I Have a Question
The twin of this dress was Look 24 for the Resort 2020 presentation. The Luisa Beccaria label is made in Italy and run by the mother-daughter team of Luisa and Lucilla Beccaria. They are known for their incredibly feminine pieces that have an almost story book feel to them. The cost of their pieces run into the thousands and their clothing is very well made. The label's pieces always have a sense of romance to them. Vogue said of the collection that; 'Beccaria’s style is at its most resplendent when she’s designing for elegant soirées and receptions with a sense of occasion. Resort offered plenty of choices in embroidered lace, layered tulle, macramé, and wispy organza.'
This is a gorgeous dress. It has the prettiest floral design screened onto a feather light silk chiffon. Think the finest silk scarf you could have in terms of weight and feel. The print is done in pale shades of blue on an ivory backdrop. The collar wraps around the neck with long attached ties that you can let trail down the back as they did in the collection photos or wrap and tie it into a beautiful soft bow at the front like I did. The silk is gathered into the collar for added detail on the bodice. From there it skims to the waist where you can cinch it in with its matching tie belt in the same fabric. The belt has an added flower that matches the print of the dress. The skirt falls to the floor under that and the silk is all bias cut with yards of fabric in the skirt. All of that fabric means that with your slightest move the skirt floats around you. The skirt is in its original uncut length. The sleeves are fantastic. Each is a very full balloon sleeve made out of a single layer of the silk chiffon. They puff out dramatically above the cuff with each cuff ending in a split ruffle. This is a dress that you slip on and feel completely comfortable when wearing and yet it has as much drama and impact as you could ask for. It is a stunning and very romantic example of their work and beautifully made. It comes with its original hang tags and was never worn. Excellent condition
The outer dress is unlined and it comes with a matching ivory bias cut silk chiffon slip to wear underneath. It closes with hook and eye at the back of the neck and a hidden set side zipper. Elastic through the waist and at the end of each cuff. The original tie belt is included. The loose and easy cut should allow it to fit a variety of sizes. It will just drape more on a smaller frame and be more fitted on a larger frame. In its original uncut length, and appears to have never been worn. Tagged a modern 46 and has its original hang tags.

Beautiful Pre-Fall 2020 Chanel by Virginie Viard Runway Look 37 Silver Sequin, Pearl & Crystal Skirt
I Have a Question
I have a small grouping of Chanel pieces that will be listing over the next week or so and they all come from an avid Couture and Chanel collector. Many of these pieces were extremely difficult to source when they were released and were only made in very limited quantities. They are in pristine condition and all but one have their original shop packet that has the extra fabric and style information. These are exceptional pieces for the collector and each is extremely special.
This skirt is exceptional. It's from the Pre-fall 2020 collection and it's twin walk the runway for Look 37. This is a wonderful piece of Chanel and is extremely well-made. The was a Metier d"Art collection which are always the most expensive at retail as they feature work from all the tiny maison d'art houses. It was also Virginie Viard's first Metier d'Art Pre-fall collection. She titled the show 'Paris – 31 rue Cambon' which is of course where Gabriel Chanel first set up shop as a milliner in 1910. She later expanded her fashion empire by taking over six buildings to house her Haute Couture salons one of which was Number 31. In tribute she mirrored the black, beige, crystal and gold that evokes Chanel's apartment, and the famous mirrored staircase. When asked about it backstage, she said that the show was meant to be "the things we like, a mix of Karl and Chanel – the Chanel codes."
In this skirt we see the high workmanship of the luxury suppliers of the fashion industry. At first glance, you might almost think it to be a tweed Chanel piece but then as you look at it closer you realize that every inch is covered with overlapping silver sequins. The sequins are held in place by an ivory, gold and black thread and this is what gives them the appearance of that classic Chanel tweed. The sequins catch the light from every angle. It is exceptional. Running down the front is a panel of glittering crystals that are bordered with faux pearls on either side and the pearls are all caught into a black corded cage. That same detail runs down the centre of the skirt at the back. It is fitted around the waist, but without an added band so you lose no detail of that stunning design, and then it glides over the hips and flares out to the hem. The skirt has never been worn and has its original Chanel packet. Excellent condition
Fully lined in black silk and closes with a hidden set zipper under the back centre detailing. Tagged a 34 and has its original Chanel packet. Current Chanel fantasy skirts start at $5500 and range up to $8500USD + for pieces with this level of detailing.
