This is a rare and hard to find larger sized Courreges shift dress. It is hard enough to find Courreges this days but to find one that is actually a decent size is wonderful! This is classic Courreges and his Future Couture label. It is sleeveless and snaps to close. The base fabric is jet black and his signature fine wool with just a touch of texture running through it. The snaps are set on one side and there is a little buckle detail at the waist. I love the one slanted pocket at the side! Impeccably constructed as one would expect. This is instantly recognizable, classic Courreges! Excellent condition!

Tagged a Courreges size C. Fully lined in a black silky rayon and it snaps to close - they can both fully open. There is slight wear to the front "belt" as typical in a Courreges piece of this age. This in no way detracts or deters form the value. Hand finishes.

This amazing couture creation from James Galanos from an absolutely amazing textile! The silk on this gown is feather light and has a beautiful design in black, cream and a brown clay color woven into it. Through this is highlights of gold thread worked into the fabric.  This combination creates a stunning visual effect adds depth and texture to the fabric. The cut is remarkable and dramatic. The silk has been knife pleated all through the body which gives the illusion of extra height by those subtle vertical lines this creates. Each sleeve billows above a slim cuff and the are cut full from the waist. The front plunges in a deep V to the waist banding. The skirt is cut in one long and lean swoop of silk chiffon. The final detail is a silk flower set at the waist from which ribbons dangle down the front. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition

The pleating of the fabric acts as the lining and it is otherwise unlined. It closes with a low painted metal zipper that starts at the waist. There are a series of hook and eye and snaps under the flower detailing at the waist. Each sleeve closes with a small painted metal zipper.

Halston IV caftan in a stunning green lurex with blue highlights, is an easy way to be instantly dressed up and still entirely comfortable. You will see often these in jersey but the metallic lurex ones are a tad harder to find. The green is extremely dynamic and bold and these can go from the beach to entertaining at home with flats, to full on evening glamor! It is cut deceptively simple with a slit front neck and a second slit that goes up to the knee at the bottom of the front. The rest is loose and easy with seamless set sleeves and a to the floor skirt that widens as it reaches the hem. You can wear this loose or belt it. Seriously a stunning, stunning dress - this silk chiffon gown from Malcolm Starr is an absolutely amazing piece that would have been red carpet ready for the greatest of starlets back in its day and is a serious little beauty for a modern girl choice now. The fine silk chiffon is feather light and pristine. Onto this is a gorgeous design done entirely by hand applied "glitter" in silver and gold. This treatment would have been done directly fused onto the fabric and has an almost 3D effect. It is applied in geometric design that covers the entire dress from shoulder to hem. The entire dress glints and shimmers in the light and it is startling beautiful in person. A stunning silhouette and cut. It's really a beauty and it is in excellent, unworn condition!

Pretty raw silk salmon colored Donald Brooks with a flat knife pleat detailing that runs down the front on both sides of the buttons. You can wear it loose and shift-like or use the original tie belt to cinch in the waist. The buttons are very unusual - each pair is set on a gold toned link - much like a mans tuxedo shirt. A modesty flap runs along behind them but this button detail makes the whole front closure very interesting. Very sweet and easy to wear. Condition present excellent but there is one small flaw to note - please read below.

Unlined and closes with the front round buttons. Each cuff closes with a button as well. Hidden pockets along the hip seam. There is a faint mark under one arm. You cant see it when on and I honestly did not even see it until I went to post it and had it flat in strong light. I have cut the price dramatically down because of it. It presents perfectly when on.

Stunning, low back silk gown by Hanae Mori is done in beautiful vibrant pink tones! Huge flowers are screened over it but in a size that makes them almost abstract. The centers of each are done in a black print and give a perfect little pop of contrast The shoulders are wide swaths of silk that are set into a square cut front and then dip very low at the back! The fabric is cut on the bias and really drapes to fit the body. The skirt is one long, elegant sheath of silk with a sexy back slit. It is very elegant and still has that touch of a Japanese feel that Hanae so cleverly brings to her designs. I lvoe it! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Graphic and bold bright blue silk and white dot silk dress from Ted Lapidus. I really love this print and the fabric is a high grade silk so it feels like heaven on. It is cut with a nod to the flapper dress and actually has a dropped waist and the torso is cut tubular with no definition. The skirt is attached low on the hip and has a flirty bit of fullness. I love that the sleeves have some volume to them! We have tied the original belt at the hip seam and then cinched it in to sit at the top of the hip - this is how it was meant to be worn and give the top portion a bit of pretty airiness and keeps the skirt just to the knee. Excellent condition.

Unlined and slips on to wear. Each sleeves buttons to close. Has its original tie belt and we have draped the top over a bit to give it a fuller skirt. It will hang longer if you leave it down and more flapper-esque

Very simple and chic Malcolm Starr in a deep navy which is very flattering and a nice respite from basic black. The inside of the dress is a simple sheath that skims over the body. There are two payers of chiffon that sit over the very inner lining and are cut to lie right over it. A third layer then is set form the shoulders and this layer is cut in an almost circle like fashion and creates beautiful volume and airy fullness that swirls around you! I love that the from it cut tot eh hem of the sheath but that the back is cut to trail lower and gives it even more of a floating feel! The sleeves are cut slim to balance the volume and are left sheer. Wonderful! Excellent condition.

A lovely refined shift and shell set that is from when Bill Blass was designing for Maurice Rentner! The fabric is wonderful - swirls of cream on cream with a slightly silverish cast to it. It is cut very simply but perfectly. The under-dress has a lingerie weight silk top to which the skirt is attached, Over this is the little sleeveless shell. This is a clever technique to ensure that the skirt sits perfectly and that the wearer does not inadvertently show skin between the top and skirt. it is really the proper way to cut a skirt and top like this but one no longer used since it used so much extra fabric! Beautifully made and very chic! Excellent, appears unworn condition

This is one of those dresses where you know the designer was experimenting with the new fabrics that were being created during this time period. I have called it "space age" but it still retains that hint of the Victorian era that Varon pieces tend to have. The fabric used is really unusual and off the hanger this dress is not any where near as impressive as it is on. The striped parts are made of a almost chenille type fabric for the black and what parts that have been woven on a silver nylon mesh base. The silver has just a hint of translucence and it is far lighter in weight that you would think. The bodice is a velvet and then the neck and waist are trimmed in glossy black sequins and just a touch of lace around the face., Very unusual and striking. Excellent condition

This Malcolm Starr silk dress is absolutely stunning and it is this kind of dress that I think of and love when I think this label. The color has a touch more of a green undertone then how it presents in the photos and is quite pretty in person! It has an air of refinement and elegance to it through the combination of the silk and the thick panels of beading. The dress itself is a simple cut - an almost sculptural A-line with capped sleeves and a scooped neck. Beautiful detailing at the neck and on each sleeve. These are beaded and sequined in bands that circle each. Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!

A stunning hostess gown by Kiki Hart has a touch of the East to it through its design that has been screened onto the silk back drop. The fabric is just beautiful - semi sheer and with a ribbon weave effect to create that stunning design. The top skims over the body and the sleeves each have a slight puff effect to them. I love the bold use of that dramatic black silk ribbon at the waist. This tops a full skirt that has a beautiful bell shape as is cascades tot eh floor. The entire dress has been covered with clear sequins spaces slightly apart so you can this wonderful subtle glimmer. A real beauty! Excellent condition

This is an amazing and quite beautiful dress by Oscar de la Renta. It is really one of my favorites that I have had. A pale, pale baby blue floral design is masterfully screened onto two types of silk. The jacket is a silk chiffon and the dress is made of a scarf weight silk that is then lined in silk chiffon. The style is very flattering - it just slips on and then you cinch on the waist with the ties that run through a loop around the waist. Pretty piping makes the straps and neckline and it all has a soft, romantic draped feel to it that is just sublime. The jacket it a pretty way to add a bit off coverage without bulk and then when you take it off the dress is all refined sexiness. Excellent, appears unworn condition

Fully lined in an off-white silk chiffon and the jacket is unlined. The dress slips on to wear and then you adjust the waist with the built in waist tie. The jacket has a piped tie at the neck and each cuff closes with a fabric covered snap. Note the sizing is a touch deceptive as its meant to drape a bit - this one will work on a smaller frame as well as what the actual measurements put it as.

A gorgeous goddess feel, draped maxi dress that drapes and moves wonderfully because of the light chiffon fabric used to construct it! It makes this amazing dress be both flattering and dramatic! Pretty tones of blue are printed on a light chiffon that drapes perfectly over an inner built in dress, giving it a wonderfully romantic and exotic feel. The fabric on the exterior has a striped pattern worked into it and gives the effect of depth and texture. I love the solid blue used at the hem and cuffs to anchor the design. The sleeves are very full and gather in at each wrist with an elastic cuff and the skirt flows to the ground in a swath of lightness. The original fabric tie cinches in the waist in a pretty and flattering touch. It is extremely flattering, easy to wear and high on drama. Excellent condition!

I love the lightness and airiness created by the chiffon and the brilliant mix of colors. The outer layer of fabric is cut on the bias and there are yards and yards used to make this little beauty. The bodice is cut simply with a sexy front plunge. The waist is highlighted with an attached bit of fabric that is set so that it angles up and into the base of the V neck. This creates a nice long and lean line and is very flattering! That spectacular full skirt then flows beautifully to the floor from there. The little cape that comes with it sits on the shoulders and add a pretty detail and flowing feel to the dress. Silk voile is one of my favorite fabrics - it hold color exceptionally well and it is very light but still has a touch of structure to it so when it is used in layers like this you get a wonderful sense of volume without bulk or heaviness. The color palette on this is just exceptional. It is a confection of ruffles really! A ruffle circles the neck and each wide sleeve ends in one! The skirt is a marvel - literally yards of silk in a huge circle with a wide ruffled edge. It is cut slightly longer in the back and the effect is just wonderful - it begs to be danced in! It is an early label piece and very beautiful! Excellent condition

I am such a fan of Joy Stevens work - she made amazing jersey dresses out of her design studio in California during the 1970s and they are really some of the nest jerseys of the time period. She concentrated on easy to wear day pieces and  designs that ruled the night clubs of the seventies. Her work typically has a sexy but easy to wear feel to it. They were the type of thing you just threw on, looked fabulous in, and could dance until 3am without worrying about how they would hold up. Her best pieces were made from a fluid jersey (like this piece) and this allowed them to both move and wear well. This dress is made from that signature fabric and is a great little dress. The front of the dress is gathered into the center and then it has three straps set on each side that go up and around the neck. These then cross at the back. This leaves the back almost completely bare for a sexy bit of skin to show. The skirt falls to the floor and is cut so that it drapes from just under the bust-line. Most of her dresses are a solid color so I love that this one is finished in a pretty print. Excellent condition.

This is a beautiful scarf weight silk dress by Ungaro. When you think of this time period for Ungaro you tend to think of those fitted ruched dresses but I find this one very refined and refreshing. The cut is sublime and the silk used is a very high grade and feels wonderful when on. The skirt is knife pleated and has a contrasting print all around the hem. That same contrasting panel is used to define the bodice, waist, front and cuffs. The neck has an attached tie and I love how it closes under that offset strip that ties into the waist! Wonderful! Made of a stunning combination of red on pink and deep hued greens on silk, this Suzy Perette dress is a beauty! The front is is simple with a curved and plunged neckline that is mirrored in the back except the back plunge goes quite deep. The waist nips in with flat seaming that gives the illusion of overlapping and being caught up with that wonderful fabric covered, large button at the front. A soft pleat has been worked into each hip and these gently open to give the volume the skirt has. This seaming and use of pleats and flat panels cleverly draws the eye into the waist and gives the illusion of an even greater nipped in waist and hourglass silhouette. I love the rounded shoulders and just below the elbow length sleeves. The skirt has the perfect amount of fullness that allows you wear it with or without a light crinoline (shown without) and not be too overwhelmed by volume. I love the slight military feel that this deep ink blue suit has. Its Miss Dior and is constructed to extremely high standards - all hand and properly finished with every stitch! The Skirt is cut on an A-line and has a nice sharp feel to its lines. The jacket has those amazing steel colored metal buttons and I love the two top pockets. It is cut very square but it has a belt to soften it and give the wearer some shape. Remarkably this suit comes its two original belts! The tops of each belt is an almost rubberized patent and this makes them "stick" slightly so you don't get that hanging belt end thing happening. It is just remarkable! Made of a wool that is heavy enough to hold the shape but not so heavy that it is uncomfortable to wear. Excellent condition

Drop dead gorgeous bombshell pin up dress from Lilli Diamond! This is an earlier piece and really shows off the femme fatale look of this time. Made of a black silk taffeta that has that whispering rustle sound to it when ever you move, it instantly makes you feel old Hollywood glamorous. The skirt is fitted and has a fabulous side swag of black lace with rhinestones scattered throughout. The waist cinches in of course and the bodice has a crossed over effect. One side is covered in that same lace with scattered rhinestones like the skirt detailing. Wonderful, sexy piece in that old Hollywood kind of way and in excellent condition.

A classic black dress never goes out of style and this one is a clever play on a men's tux whole still feeling completely female. It is constructed from a high quality black silk that holds the sculptural shape of the dress but is not too heavy to wear once on. The top is cut in a simple design with wide straps that curve up and around each shoulder. The front has a pretty scooped neckline that is mirrored on the back. I love the double row of buttons that sits at the front under the belt and suggest the feel of a formal tuxedo but not in a literal way, just enough that it is an interesting detail. All of the buttonholes set behind each bold button are properly finished even though those buttons are decorative only. This is a great sign of the care and attention to detail that went into this piece and really shows the quality. The skirt flows over the hips and is cut on an A-line with a beautiful sculptural feeling to it. Easy to wear, fabulous, 1960s Oscar De La Renta Boutique dress in a poly nylon. The colors are just beautiful - a palette of a sunny yellow mixed with pops of reds, greens and pinks. I love the floral design that covers the entire dress should to hem. The entire shape has been created through the careful placement & cut of the vertical seams that come out above and below the waist- all done to create that wonderful hourglass shape. The front has a panel of fabric that crosses over the front. It is secured on the opposite shoulder and creates a bold geometric shape! I love that even though this treatment is not meant to actually unbutton the buttonholes are still finished off properly. The fabric is a light felted feeling wool in a deep oxblood. I can't go one enough about this piece - it really is extraordinary and I know I will regret listing it once it goes - the pictures do not come close to doing it justice. Excellent condition.

Red silk is gathered up the front and into a high peak strapless bodice, The back laces up corset style and even off the hangar the dress has curves. The back is tiered under the butt and slit high. The bottom is cut into two points that trail down your legs - you could potentially tie these to create a complete bondage look. Utterly in your face sexuality and a rare find! Normally his pieces are head to toe pattern and this one has a beautiful simple A-line cut, to the floor skirt done in a fabric that is one shade off a true white. This is then topped by a scarf weight rayon twill which is printed in a typical sixties/seventies feeling pattern of blues and pinks. Love the scooped neck and skinny sleeves. The dress gets a touch a high drama with a wide patent belt in a deep ink blue that cinches in the waist! Excellent condition!

How sexy is this dress?! It is just amazing! Classic Biba with its small, triangle halter style cups from which the skirt flows to the floor in a wide A-line. It completely buttons down the front and I love the light weight cotton fabric that has been dyed to look like denim. It is very simple but very wonderful and undeniably special and sexy. Really good Biba pieces are getting harder and harder to find and this one is amazing - it really is one of the best of the best by Biba from this era! Excellent condition!

Unlined and closes at the front with the buttons as shown - note that on a girl smaller then my mannequin the buttons will sit closed better - this barely fit my mannequin. The fabric has a light bit of fading to it which is intentional and a natural part of the aging process - I do not consider it a flaw but a patina that adds to the look of ti! This is a fantastic suit from Geoffrey Beene and shows his love of sharp geometric shapes and love of adding pops of color onto a black base. The skirt is fitted and lean and the jacket has a strong silhouette that skims the torso and goes down and over the hip. The neck is high and all the closures are hidden so that you get this fantastic unbroken line. Onto the jacket are two abstract triangles of color that are top stitched - a green on the front and a burgundy one on the back. Each of these has a ribbon tie extending from a point and you wrap and tie these around to create some shape! Very graphic and very chic! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Sexy nylon gown by the great John Kloss who was an Ossie Clark contemporary and did mainly lingerie pieces with a few draped goddess jersey gowns thrown in for good measure. I love his work. He deliberately chose good weight and quality nylons that held the color well and would drape exactly as he wished. This white goddess feel gown is simply cut and is done in a pristine white nylon. It has a drop dead sexy front plunge and Grecian feel elastic gathers under the bust and at the waist. The skirt has yards and yards of fabric and cascades out from there. It is semi sheer but could be worn out as a dress with nude undergarments or clever styling. Truly a beauty and in fantastic condition!

Wonderful full length nylon jersey dress in a a off-white. The skirt flows to the ground in a cascade of fabric- there are yards of fabric in that skirt! The halter top is quite stunning with a low plunging front and halter style top that goes up and around the neck. It closes at the nape of the neck and then the back is left basically bare. The waist has a pretty illusion cut out detailing made of embroidered applique and highlighted with rhinestones. Perlberg made these pieces to be danced in and this one would look amazing twirling across the dance floor! Very Grecian goddess and very sexy. Excellent condition

Backed in a second layer of the same poly  nylon jersey as the exterior. Closes with hook and & eye at the back of the neck and a low painted metal zipper.

This dress is pretty sexy! It is made out of a simple poly jersey and the skirt is cut on a wide A-line. That skirt comes right up and over the torso where it is topped by a sequin encrusted bra/halter top! The sequins are a deep charcoal pewter hue. I simple tie of jersey loops through the front key hole and ties around the neck, The back is left basically bare except for the tie of fabric that keeps the top in place! Very Studio 54 and very sexy! Excellent condition!

Unlined though the skirt with a rayon black backing on the bodice. It closes with a low back zipper and the bodice ties at the back. The skirt is a polyester jersey. The bra cups are probably best suited for an A - B cup
