If this does not absolutely sum up the minimalist movement of the nineties I am not sure what would! It is a sleek, chic, sheath of black. Parachute silk for the front and a stretch nylon jersey for the back. It is supermodel length and will make you look supermodel tall. It is simple and cut to perfection. The front can open completely so you could layer this over other pieces if you wish. I love how the buttons end just below the hips so a high opening is left at the front to counter balance that sheath of blackness. Simple cap sleeves and a small, neat collar finish the dress perfectly. Excellent, unworn condition

How absolutely gorgeous is this dress? The silk itself is amazing - a luxe bias cut silk chiffon that has a custom screening of a leopard print from top to bottom. The bias cut gives the silk lots of movement and it has a fantastic floaty feel to it - light and air which is the perfect balance to the animal print. The skirt is very full with lots of fabric but lies quite nice and sleek when you are still. The bodice has a high rolled neckline and the sleeves are long and lean. It is interesting to note that even the sleeves are lined in the same silk crepe that rest of the dress is - this is an extra step and most designers skip it to save fabric - it is really a sign of the care and thought out into the piece. A very long, 90" silk sash is still present and you can wrap and tie this as you wish! Excellent, unworn condition. Item# DD767

An absolutely beautiful, stunning late 1970s, silk gown by Oscar de la Renta! This is a true beauty and is in mint condition! The bodice is draped and gathered at each side. A gathered bit of silk is attached to one side and swoops up and over the neckline to create a goddess like one shoulder silhouette. The skirt falls to the ground in a perfect sheath of silk. The fabric used is of the finest quality - think a heavier weight silk that has the feel of a Hermes scarf. I love the multi color leaf print that is scattered top to bottom of the gown - it gives it a light airy feel while not taking away form the refinement and classic feel of the piece. A really chic gown that presents even better in person! Excellent condition

Hips: to 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam

Skirt length: 38" from waist seam to bottom hem
The dress is fully lined - a yellow silky rayon was used through the skirt and a silk organza backs the bodice. The bodice has a full corset/bra built in. This could be removed to give you more room and a less structured fit if needed. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and hook & eye. Hand finished. Note the color is more of a marigold tone then the true yellow as photoed. It is richer and deeper.

This is a super dress by Fred Perlberg. It is a simple silk sheath with the waist nipped in and a long lean skirt. The bodice is cut with a nice plunge silhouette and the sleeves are simple and long. I love how all the edges have a tighter panel of sequins going in the opposite direction. It is a nice touch to highlight and add some texture and interest to the piece. The sequins have a pearled iridescent quality so the dress has a nice glow without being overwhelming. A slit on the leg adds a bit of flash when you move. Hand finishes and a piece that really works once one a real girl! Excellent condition.
Zandra Rhodes is one of my favorite designers and it is always a treat to have one of her pieces for you! Some of her longer gowns are so over the top they are hard to fit into real life but this is a very wearable, gorgeous piece that can go for a fancier day piece to cocktail wear with ease. Hand painted silk chiffon over a silk interior has a asymmetrical hem and waist detailing. The bodice has sequin work that was hand applied and the edges are all done with pretty faux pearls. I love the shoulders and how they have a built out a touch. The sleeves are left unlined so the print really gets shown off. It is lovely and highly collectible. Excellent condition

The dress is fully lined in blue tissue silk and it closes with a back painted metal zipper. The sleeves are left unlined. It should be dry cleaned when cleaned again in the future.

I love Bill Gibb and this ensemble is terrific! It has that romantic Victorian hippie feel that the best of his clothes have. It is two separate pieces, both done in a light polished cotton. The fabric has an ombre striping in light pastels - soft green, pink and cream. Insets of open work lace run down the skirt and the front of the top. The skirt is a masterpiece of pleat and flat work done to give interest but without adding excessive volume. All the edges are finished with grosgrain and the entire outfit is beautifully made. I love the wide kimono inspired sleeves. Wear these together or as separates. Bill Gibb is a highly collectible label and his pieces are getting exceedingly hard to find. Both pieces are in excellent, unworn condition

Note the color is more of a pale pastel combination then what is photoed. The label is the best representation. It presents far softer in overall color then pictured. The base of the fabric is a creamy white with no yellow undertones.
Both pieces are fully lined in cream silky rayon. The top closes with a row of buttons at the front and can be worn as a light jacket or as a top, while the skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper and hook and eye combo. The belt that is with it does not appear to me to be the original but will be sent with it as found as it works.

This is one of those amazing 1950s pieces that make you wonder why more designers are not doing this type of silhouette now! The under-dress is a simple, chic sheath with a nipped in waist. The front bodice has an inset triangle that is set to make that high inverted, curved neck that was so in vogue at the time. The shoulders are rounded and the sleeves to the elbow. The sleekness of the top carries down and through to the slim pencil skirt. Snaps are set all around the waistline and that fantastic full, almost bubble shaped over-skirt snaps into place. The shape this makes has a sculptural feel and in reminiscent of what Balenciaga was doing at the time. Because the over skirt comes off you could add a slim belt to cover the snaps and end up with two dresses in one! Excellent condition
This is a pretty Joy Stevens halter dress with a wonderful screened floral print! It is made of an easy to care jersey that has a stunning and bold floral print done in pinks & lavenders. The front of the dress is gathered along a fabric tie that then goes up and around the neck. I have crossed it for the photos, but you can also tie it so that is does not crossed over if you wish. The back is left bare for a sexy hint of skin. The skirt falls to the floor and is cut so that it drapes from just under the bust-line of the dress. This makes it very flattering as it hides all sins. A great dress that can go from beach to market to cocktails with a simple change of shoe! Excellent condition.

This is a gorgeous jersey Donald Brooks dress in the most amazing coral colour! I love the ease of the fabric and the killer drape - it is a slinky synthetic jersey with a smooth finish and really has a fantastic look to it - it also is easy to wear and to pack! The faceted glass button detailing is the perfect contrast to the jersey - it's an ingenious way to give it a little glitz without ruining the perfect simplicity of the jersey. It has its original, extra long tie belt. There is lots of fabric in the skirt and I love the fluid jersey sleeves that each end with a bit of a balloon effect at each cuff. Excellent condition!

This dress is both iconic and fantastic! It is rare that you see a full sequined early Biba. I have seen lots of tops and vests (there are a few listed in the shop now even) but to find a full maxi dress is just wonderful! The dress is amazing too - it is classic Biba with its small, triangle halter style cups from which the skirt flows to the floor in a wide A-line. All the sequin work is set vertically so you get a subtle line that travels up making the wearer seem even longer and leaner. The sequins themselves are a burnished deep gold and they catch the light wonderfully. It is very simple but very wonderful and undeniably special. Really good Biba pieces are getting harder and harder to find and this one is amazing - it really is one of the best of the best by Biba from this era! Excellent condition!
The upper bodice is backed in black satin, the rest of the dress is unlined. It closed at the back with a zipper. The fabric has some stretch. Each side of the bodice seems to be cut straight up and down - they tend to stick out a touch as a result. It is not a flaw but I am pointing it out as I think you might want to tweak it to a perfect fit once it is tried.

Known for his feminine, romantic designs, this gown is a slight departure for Oscar and shows that he can do sensuality and sexy with the best of them. A butterfly acts as the only coverage on the bodice of the dress - the rest is fine black netting that is completely see through. The butterfly is heavily beaded and done in a spectacular array of metallic colors. The back is slit open to the waist. The skirting is black silk velvet and is an almost modified mermaid shape that follows every curve. The beaded portion of the gown is substantial and amazingly intricate. When on your sides and back are left bare except for the netting! A grosgrain ribbon sits inside the waist to hold the dress in the exact proper place when worn. hand finished and in excellent condition.

This is a beautifully constructed 1950s Ceil Chapman constructed from a customs screened, printed polished cotton - an unusual fabric choice for Chapman but one that works spectacularly. Chapman is renowned for being one of Marlyn Monroe's favorite designers and its easy to see why - this dress scream bombshell! The dress really showcases Chapman's attention to detail and love of gathering and stitching the fabric. The techniques used are infamous amongst girls in the know for how these dresses drape over a women's body to create curves whether you have them or not! The skirt is lean and fitted and looks to be a wrapped sarong but that is just a clever illusion. The waist nips in and the bust has been hand draped and gathered into soft pleat detailing Those are all hand placed and stitched pucker pleats along the top allowing it to flares out a bit when worn - it is wonderful! Excellent condition. Item# 2-DD330
This dress was featured in a September 2010 issue of Hello Magazine!
The entire set is constructed of layers of netting - some hand painted with those fantastic gold dots and some left black. It is almost indescribable as to the cut and silhouette as it is tucked here with a seam, tacked there with a stitch, deliberately puffed there and buttons are offset, close with the seam protruding out, seams finished, seams left un-constructed ....the details are endless and stunning. This collection "contained fusions of menswear and elements culled from Victorian women's wear" It is easy to see that feel in this piece with its elaborate shape and form. The fabric is hand painted with large gold dots and the set weighs almost nothing since it is entirely constructed from netting. The skirt and jacket can literally be worn inside out - I have styled it as the tags inside dictate but you could turn either inside out and wear the opposite. A mannequin does this ensemble little justice - it needs the quirky, fabulous girl that Rei Kawakubo intended to wear it! The original price on this set at retail was almost $4000. Excellent condition

The fabric of this dress is utterly amazing. A silk brocade has muted copper thread woven into it from top to bottom. The pattern is done so that some areas of the copper or bold, some fine and delicate. This serves to allow the light to catch the threads in different ways so it seems to almost change color and hue as you move turning the wearing into a seemingly liquid molten ripple. The cut is classic fifties with a nipped in waist topping an extremely full circles skirt. A wedding gown feel row of buttons close the dress at the front and the shoulders are left unseamed and rounded as to not break the beautiful refined line created. Each sleeve is long and slim and a jaunty, pointed cuff sits at each wrist, The collar can sit high and up, or it can be folded slightly to show off the pert little points. I absolutely love the unusual, high rounded half pockets - they are amazing! A real treasure and in excellent condition
Beautiful candy color printed cotton voile dress from the infamous Ceil Chapman. Pops of bright color collide in the most charming way on this pretty little day dress. Hand screened color explodes over the dress from top to bottom. The exterior is a feather light cotton mix voile and this is placed over a pale pink interior. The bodice is hand placed and then flat pleated into place. This pleating is then picked up in the skirt - it is attached to the waist by tiny, fine flat pleats which give the skirt its fullness. The neckline is gently scooped while the back dips into a shallow V. The skirt swings out from the nipped in waist. Extremely pretty and bright. Excellent condition.

The dress is fully lined in a slightly starched, netted cotton - the lining is set into the pattern pieces. Made of a silky rayon blend it has retained the colors perfectly. There are a couple of very very faint tiny spots here and there but I am being very picky and they do not show when worn because of the way the fabric falls. Still priced accordingly. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and buttons at the cuffs.

A late 1970s Hanae Mori caftan maxi dress done in a feather light silk chiffon. The gown is cut super model long and is constructed of two layers of almost weightless silk. I love the exotic Asian feel combined with the sleekness of the seventies silhouette that the dress has. The customs designed screened floral pattern is a nod to her Japanese heritage. I love how it gives the dress a delicate, romantic feeling and is a stunning match to the lightness of the fabric. It has a high slit on one leg to break the length of all that silk and each sleeve is left unlined and billows delicately. A nod to the thirties is seen in the diamond gathered detailing atop each shoulder. Hanae is the only woman of Japanese descent to have presented on the Paris and New York Runways and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official haute couture house. You can see why in this stunning and romantic example of her work. I love it as presented but you could of course belt it to create more shape. Excellent condition.

I absolutely love the dramatic color of this piece and that is is screened onto a chiffon so it has a translucent popsicle color feel to it. It is a dramatic and bright combination of a tangerine orange mixed with a deep fuchsia pink with pops of white! I adore the details on this dress - the entire bodice and skirt are detailed with tiny flat knife pleats. The bodice has then from collar to waist and the skirt begins with them at the waistline and then they are allowed to soften and open to give the skirt volume and air fullness. The sleeves are left unlined and each ends with a dramatic ruffle done in the same knife flat pleating treatment. A wide collar in the pleats adorns the neckline. The top layer of chiffon floats over the inner layer in the most beautiful of ways - it really goes it that wonderful light, romantic feel. A wide, long sash of the same fabric is still with the gown and I have shown it wrapped around the waist. The dress has a fantastic romantic, pretty and light feel, but is still regal and beautiful. Pieces like this make a girl want to weep with joy! The first thing you must know about this couture quality constructed ensemble is that is literally weighs only a few ounces. It is like holding air. The finest lingerie colored peach lace adds texture and interest. Fused into the lace is a soft silk mohair yarn that seems to extend and create the hem of the to and skirt like magic. The contrast of textures with the two fabric is wonderful. It also gives it a feeling of substance but again there is virtually no weight to the set at all - it is like wearing bits of air! The top is cut very simply - tank style and the skirt a simple A line to the knee. A belt came with the set and I have slung it around the hips. It is an extraordinary example of couture level textiles and the original price if this set was 5 times the listed price, Excellent, unworn condition

A gorgeous goddess feel, crepe jersey gown that drapes fantastically. This amazing gown is both flattering and dramatic! White silk crepe falls perfectly over an inner jersey base in a classic Romanesque column. The bust is reinforced so no undergarments are required when wearing this piece. II love how the fabric is hand placed and stitched into soft pleats across the front bodice. This adds fullness and subtle interest. A swatch of fabric appears to loop over the bust and then falls to the floor in a flowing column that helps add the illusion of leanness and height. A rhinestone collar creates a pretty halter neckline. Its extremely flattering, easy to wear and high on drama. Excellent condition!
I Have a Question
Vicky Tiel was backed by Elizabeth Taylor as a young designer after working on the costume for 'Whats New Pussycat'. After a stint with a partner she launched her self named label in Paris in 1970. She as one of the very early boutique owner/designer that offered a ready-to-wear option in Paris. That said, her clothes often walk a fine line between ready-to-wear and couture in terms of their construction and techniques used. By the mid to late seventies her style had developed into the ultra sexy and feminine clothing that she is now known best for. By the eighties and into the nineties, she had a cult celebrity following. This is a stunning example of her work.
The base of the dress is made out of a fine gold metallic lace netting. This is then backed in a deep gunmetal silk. The metallic lace over the silk gives the dress a subtle glimmer from top to bottom. Onto this are black sequins that are hand applied and hand placed in clusters to follow the design in the netting. This layer construction of the fabric gives the dress texture and depth. Once on the body it really feels like it comes to life as the light catches the various parts of the dress. The dress is surprisingly light in weight because of the netting and silk combination. It is cut in that classic Vicky Tiel bombshell lines. The bodice is fitted and the neckline is curved into a sweetheart ashes that plunges quite low. At the back it is set into a low. V. The bodice is boned and shaped inside for support. The sleeves are unlined and long so you get a play on the transparency of the fabric down the arm. The skirt is wrapped and attached around the waist. It is gathered high along one side and there is a high slit under that exposing a ton of leg. The curve wraps around and back with the can hem sitting longer then at the front. Excellent condition

Straight from the closets of a couture buying socialite, comes this 2006 Roberto Cavalli runway gown. It is pure Cavalli - both sexy and jet set chic. The gown is constructed of yards and yards of luxurious thick silk custom screened with a python design. The bodice has a built in corset to give you the maximum amount of lift and fullness. The skirt cascade from there in a sheath of silk. It has subtle inverted flat pleats set around it so that you get an ton of fullness in the skirt. When you stand still these lie flat and disappear giving you a long lean silhouette. When you move they allow the fabric ot flow and love in the most dramatic way! The edges of the bodice are black patent leather. You can actually tuck in the straps and wear this as a strapless piece if you wish. What a gorgeous maxi dress from Hanae Mori. The colors are deliciously vibrant and bright - this against that perfect summer tan would be killer! A brilliant coral backdrop (more of a true coral then pictured - much better in person!), has a stunning floral print screened onto a silk chiffon fabric. A crossed pattern in silver thread is worked through the entire dress so it has a gorgeous ad subtle glimmer.! It is cut with an elastic through the waist - so it is very easy and comfortable to wear. I can imagine this with sandals for day and then stacked heel at night. Very rare and very fine Irene dress that is in exceptional, unworn condition. A true collectible and a definitive piece of fashion history! Irene pieces are hard to find and to get one with the original store tags still attached is just a treat! Made of a fine silk the dress is cut in a sleek sheath that nips in at the waist and follows your curves. A hand set curved inset sits at the bust for a little visual detailing. The back is where all the drama is. It is scooped rather low and has two wide bands f hand set curved fabric detailing the scoop. Large flat buttons add more interest. I love the simplicity of the dress and yet when it is on it is far from feeling simple! It has a understated sexiness and is just divine! Unworn, dead-stock in perfect condition. Item# DD797

The exterior of this stunning Mollie Parnis dress is fashioned out of black silk taffeta which helps give it a bit of structure and allows it to hold its gorgeous shape. The cut of this dress is absolutely gorgeous! It has a high neckline with an exaggerated and ruffled collar. Those same ruffles are mirrored at each cuff and as a swooping finish to the skirt. The top skims over the bust and nips in at the waist. From there the skirt skims over the hips to a wide ruffled flare that ends just below the knees. It has that perfect, chic late fifties, early sixties feel and looks to have never been worn. A superb and early example of the label and in excellent, unworn condition.

An amazing slinky and fluid jersey sheath in a bight pink coral that skims over the body and is not meant to be skin tight, yet manages to emphasize every curve. It is long and lean in all the right ways. Cut on the bias so it automatically drapes and settles into place as soon as it hits your body. The back has a ruffled hem finish slit so you see some leg. The neckline is delicious - it has a large keyhole cut out at the back with a cowl like drape in the front. I honestly think that you could wear this either way so it is sort of like two dresses in one! This is the dress for when you want to look and feel a mile tall and supermodel skinny!! Really one of my favorites pieces and in excellent condition. Note the color is truer and brighter in person - a true bright coral!

This beauty is from Leonard Paris a label that was a contemporary of Pucci. Leonard dresses tend to be the softer, more draped version of this look. This one is a delicious combination of vivid turquoise (much brighter then pictured) and brght pink, mixed with shots of greens and purples. The photos really do not do the colors on this dress justice! It is cut on a generous A-line and the skirt flares out with lots of fabric in it for movement. It is almost caftan style in the cut. It comes with its original printed belt whose ends both end with logo engraved gold metal. I love the simple collared neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs, neckline and hem. It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut if very flattering anf forgiving on a variety of sizes! Excellent condition
Exceptional charcoal denim strapless wiggle dress by Patrick Kelly that has a bottom tier of ruffles! Kelly's pieces are synonymous with sex appeal and his pieces have a sense of chicness combined with high street. With this dress he skillfully mixes a sexy and short silhouette with girlish ruffles. I love that it is done in denim and that the dress is cut to follow your every curve curves. The bodice is strapless and boned and the waist nips in. All the seaming is vertical to give an illusion of a lean torso. The skirt and fitted so that it skims the hips and hug the body with three ruffled tiers of denim! A superb piece by a great designer. Excellent, never worn, condition

Exceptional strapless Givenchy Couture dress from the early eighties. The entire exterior is done in a pale ice blue - a stunning color! Onto this has been sewn on and a quarter inch ribbon that has been sharply knife pleated. These row are all perfectly spaced and applied to a base of white silk chiffon. This allows the dress to adjust and sit on the body perfectly and it also gives it the most amazing texture. Because they are all attached separately in those rows the fabric is really allowed to move when you do. The inside is finished in silk with a built in bodice. Tagged Givenchy couture with its numbered reference underneath on a separate tag. Excellent, unworn condition
Bust: 17" flat across from side seam to side seam with A-small B cup room built in
Waist: 13" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 18" flat across form side to side - the skirt wraps over so there is a bit of room here
Length: 29" from top of bodice to hem
The dress is fully lined in off white silk with a built in extra lining with light boning through the bodice. It closes with a side painted zipper. The color is a bit paler in real life - a true iced blue!

What a stunner! This is that holy grail type dress for my fifties and sixties vixens! Made by Emma Domb and out of a coral hued cotton velvet, it is cut classic body hugging, curve creating wiggle style. A curved neckline sits atop a fitted bodice that nips in at the waist. The back is also scooped and the shoulder straps are cut to sit wide so you get a peek of collarbone. The skirt skims over the hips and is cut pencil style. The hemline is of course where you really stop and take notice - it is ringed in huge matching fabric rosettes that go all the way around! The color is slightly paler and has a more pink undertone that how it photoed. You also get a rich extra bit of texture due to that gorgeous velvet fabric that is not properly conveyed in my photos either - if you love the pictures you will love it more in person! An exceptional vintage dress. Excellent condition

This is a gorgeous, bright and vibrant little dress that can transition from day to night in a snap! Made by Mr Blackwell it is constructed of scarf grade silk that has been screened with a stunning abstract design in pinks and corals. Little bright pops of yellow and purple are worked in and the end result is just gorgeous. It was never worn and still has its original long sash that you can wrap and tie around the waist. The fabric covered buttons down the front are for decorations and I love the pointed little collar. The skirt has a pretty fullness to it and both the lining and the exterior silk are finished at the hem with a strip of horsehair netting. This gives it a touch of structure and allows the hem to have a pretty ruffled feel. So feminine and chic! Excellent, unworn condition

Unworn, extremely well made early eighties Courreges dress that has a definite nod to its earlier sixties counterparts. Constructed as an A-lined shift it nips slightly in at the waist but only enough to emphasize that fabulous little A-line shape. The top portion is a cream with heavy navy zigzag stitch detailing. That same stitch is repeated in each of the pockets that lie along the front seams. It is in immaculate condition inside and out! Easy to wear and very flattering - that deep blue bottom acts as an illusion to slim and lengthen! Excellent condition

Here I have an extraordinary and rare museum quality condition Pierre Cardin mod shift dress! This is just a fantastic example of the Cardin aesthetic and is just exceptional in every way! I have dated this dress to 1968 based on the example shown that use the same techniques. This collection was also bright and full of color! The dress is a classic sixties shift made of a textured linen fabric. The color is extraordinary and was most likely a custom dyed hue. It is a yellow that has a definitive lime undertone - it was very hard to photo the exact color but it is very flattering and gorgeous in person. The neckline, arms and hem all have a stitched relief pattern, parts of which are padded within, to create the detailing you see. The same technique rings the one little pocket that sits on one hip. Best of all this dress retains its original molded plastic buckle belt that sits so it slings low on the hip. The buckle is a gloss white - meant to match the patent go go boots that I am sure were originally styled with this beauty! It is all hand finished and really a fantastic piece! Cardin's pieces are bold and futuristic and this dress is no exception! Excellent condition
Bust: 18" from side seam to side seam
Waist: 18" lat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 19" flat across from side to side
Length: 32" from mid neck at the back to hem
The dress is fully lined in yellow silky rayon. It closes with a back painted zipper and hook and eye at the beck of the neck. The belt is original and is in excellent condition. It has a hook molded into the buckle that hooks into the notch at the other end. It is meant to sling low on the hip. Each arm has hand stitched in underarm guards that protected the dress from any staining. These could be removed or replaced if you wish but have been left as they are original to the dress. The front side pocket is small but functional.

A stunning and sexy silk dress by Emanuel Ungaro that dates to the early 90s. The dress has so many details that the closer you look at in the more you fall in love. The silk exterior is custom screened with a stunning print that combines baroque feeling swirls with flowers and color. The seaming allows it to skim the body and hug your curves and then it has a touch of fullness by the addition of soft pleats at the front. I love how the hem is cut scarf like at the bottom - so soft and romantic! The bust is all sex - a formed bra top is padded and shaped. The entire bodice has bead work and sequins worked into the design - quite heavily done in many areas and with an almost 3D feel. There is also finely done embroidery all through the top of the dress. Absolutely gorgeous and in excellent condition!

Utterly fabulous and rare little navy suit from the great Hardy Amies, who is most famous for designing for the queen! The fabric used to construct this little beauty is that perfect blue fine wool suiting that is just is sublime . It is cut to absolute perfection and has that strong late fifties aesthetic. The dress is nipped in at the waist and the skirt cut to hug the wearer. Little side pockets are hidden away at either side along the seams. The bodice is so pretty with big fabric covered buttons and pretty button details on each cap sleeve. All the edges are finished with a navy silk satin piping and that same silk satin is used to highlight the waist with a huge, extravagant bow! So couture fifties! The jacket is cut to sit just above that waist and has delicious rounded shoulders and a fitted cut. An amazing example of the period and a wonderfully made suit as well! Museum quality condition. This is a beautifully constructed Pauline Trigere dress in an interesting puffed silk brocade fabric that is a pale ice blue. It is very beautiful and deceptive in that despite its heavily worked appearance it is actually shockingly light! The dress is cut beautifully as one would expect from Trigere - a simple A-line sheath that flows from the rounded shoulders. The front is notched in a deep V and the sleeves are kept slim with each ending with a small notch at their hem that mirrors the neckline! There is an attached piped and padded belt detail that I put to the back - you could almost loop this over the neck as well - a quirky and fun detail! The lining is the finest grade dyed to match tissue silk, making it feel amazing on! Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a pale blue, fine silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Hand placed zipper and the lining is finished by hand as well. Note that the color is a true pale iced baby blue in person.

A rare Jeanne Lanvin labeled set that is from the mid- 60s and would have been produced during the reign of Castillo. This is an "ÈxÈcutÈ par Maria Carine sur autorization spÈciale" (made by Maria Carine with special authorization).
This is a special garment and needs a bit more explanation - it is best explained by this excerpt from the Vintage Fashion Guild: Maria Carine was owned by Maria Moutet-Chenu. She worked with four couturiers: Heim, Desses, LaRoche, and Lanvin. After the couture showings, each couturier would give her sketches based upon the garments they had just shown. Moutet-Chenu made the toiles which were approved by the designers. Then each ready-to-wear garment was cut individually by hand in the Maria Carine workrooms in Paris using the same fabrics that were used for the couture garment. Maria employed hundreds of seamstresses, many of whom worked in their own homes. They sewed each garment individually to exacting standards. This was the highest of early high-end ready-to-wear.
In other words - this is a hand sewn, authorized piece, that would have been completely overseen by Castillo and was the way Lanvin would have produced ready to wear for their clients. These were only produced for a small window of time before more mas market production methods took over. I love the classic cut of this set with it's box coat and chic sheath dress. The dress is a slim cut simple shift that is cut to skim over your curves. It is refined and graceful and the pale robins egg blue color is perfection on the linen textured fabric. I love the contrasting panel of white and how you can cinch the dress in or wear it as a simple sheath. The coat is as classic a cut as you could ask for but with wonderful details like the discreet pockets hidden along the front seams and the simple un-collared neckline that allows the collar of the dress to sit perfectly above when worn together. It is simplicity mixed with a masterful seaming and cutting and extraordinary fabric. This is really the equivalent of a made to order, one step under couture, garment! Hand finishes and extra detail throughout. Excellent condition and a rare set! Item# DD818
Beautiful candy color pink printed scarf weight silk dress by Karen Stark for Harvey Berin. The type of silk used for this allows the color saturation to be amazing rich and true. It is an almost neon hued pink (and a brighter pink then how it photoed). Through the pink charming black and white hedges of flowers and large blossoms cavort over the dress from top to bottom. The bodice is kept simple, sleeveless and with a flattering V neckline. A wide attaches sash hooks at the back and covers the seaming at the waist. The skirt is attached to the waist by tiny, fine gathers which give the skirt it's wonderful fullness. It cascades to the ground with yard of fabric from that perfect nipped in waist. Extremely pretty and extremely bright. One of my favorite dresses that I have ever listed. Excellent condition.

Amazing soft pink jersey maxi dress by Estevez with the most amazing back goddess sash detailing! Strapless with a heavily gathered bodice that is lightly boned and acts almost as a corset. The skirt falls gracefully to the floor in a wide sweep of jersey fabric. There are yards and yards of fabric in that skirt and it is fully lined so does not have that cheap feel that some jerseys have from this period. At the time this would have been cutting edge fabric and the better designers where taking full advantage of its fluidity. The back has an attached sash of the same fabric that swoops past the hem line. Excellent condition.
The dress is fully lined in a pale pink nylon jersey and it closes at the back with a zipper with hook & eye and snaps to secure the back sash detailing. The exterior is a fluid poly jersey and is slightly more of a baby pink then how it photoed.

I love the classic cut of this suit with it's box jacket and slim pencil skirted dress. And I could go on for days about the fabric! It is rich and luxe and amazing!† Really one of the best example of silk and textiles of this period I have seen! The dress is a slim cut simple shift that is cut to skim over your curves. It is refined and graceful and the color is perfection. I love the coppery pink thread mixed with silvers that is woven into the soft green silk back drop. The colors pop off each other and it just adds to the rich feel of the set. The jacket is classic box cut but with wonderful details like that wide band at the bottom back and the fabric covered buttons. It is simplicity mixed with a masterful seaming and cutting and extraordinary fabric. This is from the Custom line to the equivalent of a a made to order one step under couture piece! Excellent condition and a true beauty
This is a really spectacular and unusual dress by New York designer Jackie Rogers who is known for her sculptural evening pieces. This is a super example of her work. It is completely done in a bright, vibrant pink silk organza of the highest quality. The dress is tiered in layers of that gorgeous fabric with one tier going up and over the shoulder. This cleverly hides a structured bodice underneath that is lightly boned so you feel hugged and secure but look like a floating angel! It is completely romantic and stunning and ever so feminine. The little sleeveless mini cape is an almost oval in matching silk with two opening through which your arms slip through - sort of a combo cape, shrug and shawl. Amazing and in unworn, mint condition!
Bust: 17" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: 15" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Length: 58" from top of shoulder to bottom hem
Fully lined in hot pink silk and lightly boned through the bodice. The mini cape is unlined. The dress closes at the side with a hidden zipper and the tier at that point has hidden hook and eye the closure is hidden once on. The color is as brightly hued as shown but a truer pink hue then how it photoed - better in person!

Seriously fabulous jumpsuit by one of my favorite labels - the iconic house of Lanvin! In the late 60s and early 70s jerseys where the new miracle fabrics and Lanvin jumped on that (then) high tech wagon and began producing amazing pieces that were easy to wear and care for and looked like a million bucks on. They appealed to their younger, jet set client and still seem fresh. I have seen many a spectacular little dress but this jumpsuit has to be one of the best pieces I have yet to have! It is an amazing array of bright colors that are worked into the fabric from the top of the collar to the bottom of that fabulous hem. It zips at the front so you can choose to wear it as low as you dare. The sleeves are long and lean and the collar appropriately pointed. The original tie belt cinches in the waist and the result is one long, supermodel silhouette. I love the subtle floral pattern that runs through the base of the fabric too - a little nod to the inner wild child of the wearer. Amazing condition - appears to have never been worn.

This set is insane and insanely fabulous! It is dead stock Norma Kamali made of a light weight silk taffeta upon which is that wonderful, bold plaid design. The suit absolutely nails everything that was fabulous about the eighties. The jacket has an over-sized voluminous silhouette that tops the fabulous skinny cigarette leg pants that end just above the ankles. Huge shoulder pads sit inside each shoulder - they actually can be cleverly removed as they attach by strips of Velcro (cutting edge stuff then) so you can give this a softer more relaxed feel by wearing the jacket without the shoulder pads if you wish. The waist nips in severely, further emphasizing that wasp waist look. A fabulous peplum exaggerates the hips. The pants are sleek and skinny under all of that drama. It has never been worn and still has its original hang tag and extra button for the jacket. It is an amazing and iconic set! Unworn condition.
