1960s 3D Braid & Crystal on Gold Net Malcolm Starr Dress
Seriously a stunning dress - this golden gown from Malcolm Starr is an absolutely amazing piece. It is done entirely in gold with a gold net overlay that tops a nude and cream interior. Onto the net is a gorgeous design that appears to be all done entirely by hand. It utilizes a gold braid that creates a 3D effect as it sits atop the net. This is set in little curves swirls and loops over the entire dress. A thicker band of the same braiding adorns the edges of the neckline and runs around the waist and down the front. Then, onto this are scattered crystals mixed with sequins and beads that catch the light as you move. The entire dress glints and shimmers in the light and it is startling beautiful in person. The cut is simple with a sleeveless bodice and V front and the skirt widens out as it nears the hem. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a combination of nude netting in the upper bodice and a cream silky rayon through the rest. Closes with a back painted metal zipper on the interior lining and fabric covered buttons and loops on the exterior dress that sits over that. Grubbiness to the hem's edge of the lining but this of course is not apparent when on.
