1970s "Feather" Front Joy Stevens Jersey Halter Dress
I am such a fan of Joy Stevens work - she made these amazing sexy jersey dresses that really drape fabulously on the body and embody that sexy seventies feeling. This amazing little halter dress is made of a fluid jersey -her signature fabric - in a deep brown with an olive undertone to it. It ties around the neck and the back is left bare. At the front, an embroidered net applique lies over the bust and gives the suggestion of feathers. The fabric of the dress is softly pleated and tucked in and behind this panel so that the skirt looks like it cascades out from underneath. I love the contrast of colors and that feather effect - it give it a real hippie couture feel. The skirt cascades to the floor in a flow of fluid jersey for the perfect finish. Excellent condition.
The dress is unlined and made of a synthetic jersey knit - it will stretch another inch or so from the listed measurements if needed. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and ties around the neck. Note the color in person is a slightly deeper shade then how it photoed
