This Malcolm Starr is terrific - it is a unusual combination of a deep burgundy print gold metallic brocade mixed with a deep plush burgundy velvet. Cut with a nod to a baby doll silhouette the skirt is fairly full as it falls to the floor and the bodice scooped. The waist line is high and the sash cut on a curve, emphasizing that Alice in Wonderland, baby doll feel even more. The sleeves are long and slightly full and each cuffs to the wrist. The skirt is really incredible with a checked patchwork of metallic and velvet squares. The detail I love the most is that the metallic brocade fabric has a subtle square stitch that runs through every inch of that fabric so you get a subtle second reference to that check pattern! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a deep red silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each sleeve closes with hidden, fabric covered snaps. hand finishes.

I love Bonnie Cashin pieces and this two piece set is just fabulous and the vibrant color and simple really make it seem modern even now. It is made from a leather that is quite pliable and has been dyed an amazing shade of a bright coral orange. The skirt is cut on a wide Aline and this cut lets it seem very full and draped once on but without bulk or seeming to add a lot of weight to the wearer. The tunic is amazing - it literally slips over the head and the sides are left completely open with double ties set on each side. It is a great example of her simple approach to design but always with interesting details. Between the fabulous color, the design and the fact that you can wear these separate or together plus just being an amazing example of Bonnie's work, you can't go wrong. Excellent condition
Both pieces are fully lined in a matching colored silky rayon crepe. The tunic ties on each side and the closes with a side painted metal zipper and hook & eye on the waist.

Love this little Goldworm maxi dress with its pretty print done in deep corals mixed with greens on a black base. The cut is so sixties with a high neck, long sleeves and that higher set waist. It has a definite nod to the turn of the century but with a modern day nod to sexy with that button front. The way they are set allows a little peek of skin to show on the space between. Great contrasting border is used to define the upper part of the dress and is picked up on each cuff. Excellent condition.

Superb little bright, graphic Mr Dino dress in an easy to wear, easy to care and travel with polester jersey. This fabric takes color so well and it really allows for the vibrant tones to pop off the black backdrop. Love the bold print with its mix of purples, blues and pops of lime and white. This is a stunning Courreges shift dress and one of his classic designs. The fabric is jet black and done in his signature fine wool with just a touch of texture running through it. Little cap sleeves and square neckline with button detail. The skirt is pure Courreges with the seaming and pockets set as was his signature. I love the flared cut of the skirt! Impeccably constructed as one would expect. This is instantly recognizable, classic Courreges. Note that it is very tiny and would not fit on any of my mannequins hence the hanger presentation. Excellent condition.

This chic shift dress by Goldworm is done in an easy to wear and care for polyester knit. Goldworm was one of the Italians working with print and this jersey, what was then a cutting edge fabric. These were a blessing for the jet set travelers as they can be thrown into a suitcase and look chic and fresh at the other end when pulled out. They are also great day to evening pieces. Their version of jersey was one of the best to be found and it is not heavy and scratchy like some others from this time period. This particular dress has an outstanding print one a black base mixed with a deep red and pops of white in the print. The cut is simple and chic with no defined waist and long sleeves. Love the buttons at the neck that allow for a peek of skin. Excellent condition.

I love this because besides being a fabulous dress, it was liking discovering something new. Bonnie is of course best known for her leather designers under the Sills label from 53-77 and then for the collections she did for Coach from 62-74. However she also worked for a ton of smaller firms and did small collections here and there but never did I know that she also designed for Dorian. So that makes this extra special! You really see another side of her in this dress too! Her leather pieces and work for Coach are so utilitarian while this shows her softer side. Made of a printed green silk chiffon its a beautiful piece. The cut is simple with a fitted bodice and long sleeves. The skirt is slightly full and flows to the ground in a floaty dream. It's only true excess is that fabulous ruffle around the shoulders! Wonderful! Excellent condition.

I know that Vicky Tiel is known fro that fitted ruched wiggle dress silhouette, but her design repertoire is far greater then that one look. Personally I think this one is a knock out and really shows her strong play with fabric and lines. I have dated it to the mid seventies - you can see a photo of a very pregnant Vicky with Woody Allen in a dress with a similar fabric. It looks like a maxi dress but it actually two pieces. The skirt is a full length A-line with the top layer of silk cut on the bias so it really has a lovely flow and drape to it. The top is spectacular with a nod to the turn of the century in its sleeves that are fitted below the elbow and voluminous above that with padding in the shoulder to keep that effect. It zips at the front and has a sexy plunge and semi-transparent feel. Very chic but sexy. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
The top is lined through the bodice with a chocolate silk chiffon and it closes at the front with a zipper. The buttons on the front and cuffs are decorative only. The shoulders have light padding. Each sleeve is lined in silk below the elbow and closes with a painted metal zipper. The skirt is fully lined in silk and closes with a side painted metal zipper.

This is an absolutely beautiful silk jersey Bessi dress and one of my favorites from all the Bessi's I have had over the years! The print is spectacular - you can easily see her days at Pucci strongly influencing the design. The colors are all pastels in tone but still a vivid pop against that white backdrop - pretty turquoises and soft teals mix with pale lemon yellow and pinks, pops of purples & bright corals. I love the strong use of a contrasting border that defines and anchors the collar, sleeves and hem of the dress. The skirt widens quite a bit as it nears the ground and a slit up one side allows for a peek of skin. The simple sleeves and loose caftan cut perfectly balances the skirt. The original belt is present so you can use it to add shape if you wish. This is truly a fabulous dress! Excellent condition!

The color on this Bessi gown is just exquisite - its like all the colors of a tropical sea! You can easily see the time spent at Pucci strongly influencing the designer before striking out on her own. The palette is a stunning mix of soft turquoise shot through with pale lavender accents, pops of white and soft blues and greys. I love the contrasting border that defines and anchors the sleeves and skirt of the dress. Made of a mix of silks, the bodice is a silk jersey so is easy to wear and feels fabulous on. The skirt is a silk chiffon over a solid white interior skirt with the same border trim. This is truly a fabulous vintage dress. Excellent, appears unworn condition!

The construction on this dress is to couture levels and quite innovative as well. All the upper seaming is absolute genius and really showcases Galanos gift for tailoring and cut. Made of a fine wool that is a lovely shade of brown almost a milk chocolate color that will be flattering on most skin tones. The dress is cut in a simple straight sheath with sleeves cut on the long side so that you get a soft billowing effect once on. The upper bodice is really where the perfection lies - the seams are cut on angles up the the center neck at the front and back. At the front a portion of these are left open so you get a glimpse of skin through them. At the back are two similar slits and along the slanted seams along where the arm attaches, the zipper is cleverly hidden. The original belt allows the wearer to cinch in the waist to add shape. Excellent condition.
Unlined but with fine ribbon edged finished interior seams. It has a hidden set painted metal zipper and buttons on each cuff. The belt is original and has the Galanos stamp. Hidden pockets on each hip. Hand finishes. More of a milk chocolate color in person

When you think about Rucci's work you think precision tailoring and cut. He is known to piece fabric together with the eye of the couturier and this chic little white dress with silver leather inserts is a good example of that. It has the feel of a mod sixties piece with its A-line cut and angular seaming. The front cross is formed with silver leather inset by hand. Each shoulder has a strip of leather to give it a bit of trim and the back a panel of leather that is cleverly worked into the design and hides the zipper that runs up and along one seam at an angle. Note the hem with is suspended band of fabric - each stitch placed by hand. The white label is used for both his ready to wear and custom lines and with all the hand work and finishes on this dress I would side with a custom piece. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a hand set fine white silk. It closes with a hidden set zipper. Note that it is more of a white in person then how it photoed.

This sweater dress from Missoni is so unusual and I love it! It looks at first glance to be some kind of odd one shouldered sweater layered over another sweater. This is however an illusion as it is really all one piece! A cable wool with what I think is a touch of mohair woven through it has been done in a dusky blue and a purple. The two colors work fabulously together and are separated by a chunky edging. It is that perfect "Flash Dance" over-sized feel with a loose fitting, over-sized top that slims into a straight cut skirt. Comfy and cozy to wear! Excellent condition

A wonderful and vibrant dress by Leonard. Leonard Paris is a label that was a contemporary of Pucci and very sought after. This one is a delicious combination of vivid fuchsia on deep blue backdrop with pops of gold and coral. It is cut on to skim over the body and hug the hips with the original belt to give you a defined waist. I love the simple, high collared neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs, neckline and hem. The belt even has its original gold toned fringed cap at each end! It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut is very flattering. The dress is a strong statement piece and still so very chic now. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This de Ribes gown is just a masterpiece and is a rarity as well. For me this is the perfect example of her work and one of the best pieces I have seen come to market in recent memory. This is mainly due to that superb cut that has a Halston vibe to it. It is not only one shoulder but it is a masterful feat in both cut and drape. It is entirely suspended by one hook at the shoulder. There is an interior bias cut dress that is cut along an angle on its hem. This inner dress is made of two layers of silk chiffon with a wide slit traveling up on side. Over this is another double layer of silk suspended from the top edge of the gown and then over this is a third double layer of silk that is only partially attached at the top edge of the dress, This then drapes over the shoulder and hooks into place to cascade down and over the inner layers for the ultimate Grecian Goddess feel. I have shown you how it looks with this top panel styled over both the front and the back - it really can be worn either way. It is just incredible and for me feels like the type of dress that Countess Jacqueline would have worn herself. Museum quality and really an exquisite gown. Excellent condition.
Constructed in bias cut layers as described above. Slips on and has a hook at the top of the shoulder. Hand finished.

This is a gorgeous maxi dress from Anne Klein with a fabulous and easy to wear cut. The neck is cut extremely high so that it can sit right up under your chin or you can fold it down to feel more like a classic turtleneck. The cut is full and it cascades down and out from the shoulders. By the time you reach the hem it is actually quite wide and full so if you choose to wear it without the belt it has an almost caftan feel to it. The belt is a wide band of elastic so is very comfortable but still cinches you in and I love the heavy gold toned buckle at the front. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on to wear. The belt is original to the dress and is a large flat hook closure. Note that in person it is a true chocolate brown.

This piece is interesting because it shows a softer side of Giorgio Sant'Angelo then we normally see of his pieces. Its an early piece which for the collector will make it even ore interesting. For the girl just wanting to wear it it just happens to be a beautiful soft and romantic piece! Made of a printed chiffon over an inner lingerie jersey base it combines softness with a bit of sexiness. The cut is very goddessy with a halter type bodice and soft flowing skirts. The back is gathered into soft pleats long the dipped back. A panel of fabric comes around from the back and ties at the front allowing you to add shape and highlights the pretty fabric flower that sits at the base of the deep front plunge. It has its original jacket that you can slip on in cooler evenings or for more coverage. Excellent overall condition
Fully lined in a lingerie weight stretch nude jersey. Closes with a back painted nylon zipper. There is a skinny line of discoloration on the front skirt - it get lost in the folds when on but is seen when laid out flat. Priced accordingly and does not detract when on. The jacket has a repair along the back neck seam. It ties at the neck only

These printed gowns were a Lanvin staple and the dress of the season in its day. They were designed for that chic modern woman to wear while entertaining at home or to go out for a chic dinner and were often the subject for Vogue or Harper's Bazaar editorials. The colors photoed fabulously and you feel quite wonderful when wearing one. The wearer was able to move and be superbly comfortable, never worrying about being inappropriate or uncomfortable. Really these were a signature piece and every chic woman had to have one. The print and colors used in this particular one are utterly amazing - the mix is masterful and unexpected. It is made entirely of a fine silk chiffon that flows and drapes beautifully. The front has a high neck with a pretty ruffled finish. The riffle is picked up on each shoulder giving it a slight Victorian feel. The skirt is equally beautiful with wide flat pleats set into the waist so it has volume as it cascades to the floor. I love that the inner skirt is finished at its hem with a silk piping of the same fabric as the exterior! It is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history. Excellent condition.
The bodice is lined with a nude silk chiffon and the sleeves are left unlined. The skirt has an inner lining of cream silk chiffon that is scalloped and finished with a ruffled edge piped with the same silk as the exterior. Closes with a back painted metal zipper to just above the waist and then has an open slit until the hook & eye at the back of the neck. Each sleeve has three fabric covered buttons and loops. Hand finished. Some very small discolorations on the front skirt that do not distract and are lost in the pattern but can be seen when lying flat - super-size full length photo to see. They do not detract and I have priced it accordingly.

Sometimes suits go in and out of fashion but a Norell suit is always a classic. This one is exceptional. It looks like it should be heavy and the fabric is a decent weight but it is not that thick - too heavy to wear weight. Just a well made, I feel like I am wearing couture weight! The skirt is cut slim and straight and falls just past the knee. The jacket has an almost military vibe to it with four front pockets, a shaped and curved in waistline. The waist is further emphasized with a wide patent belt. It is very chic and structured and impeccably made with lots of couture level, hand finished put into the construction. This piece (and others to come) were sourced by my fellow dealer and collaborator, David Sheflin, and are from a collection of runway samples and custom made pieces. All the Norell's to list in the near future, including this one, were sourced from one the house models. She dated this one as from the 1963 collection or near to that. Excellent condition.
The jacket is fully lined in a navy silk taffeta that is hand set. The skirt is lined in a softer silk crepe, also hand set. The jacket closes down the front with buttons and the skirt closes with a side zipper at the waist. Only the belt has the Norman Norell stamp, the suit itself has no tag. It may never have had one since it was a one off. The belt and jacket both look like they were let out slightly - this is only seen in the inside lining not the exterior of the jacket. Finished button holes - even on each pocket!

I love this Missoni dress! Everything about i is what I love about the house of Missoni. It has their iconic zigzag pattern worked into the knit so its instantly recognizable. It's sexy but in that jet set kind of way. I love the deep plunge neckline and how that is balanced by a looser, easier cut through the waist. The blue metallic knit shot through the the black and oxblood is just a spectacular combination. And best of all are those sleeves! Cut in three tiers with each widening in from the shoulder - the last is very full and flared. Love it! This same tiered effect is picked up in the skirt as well. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

A simple grey wool skirt and vest gets over the top embellishment with a bands done in a variety of beads, huge sequins, silver foil and metal threading. The effect is wonderful and in person they have an even more raised effect then how it photoed! White and silver are used to perfectly set off the more sombre grey tone underneath. The vest is cut boxed and square and the band of embellishment runs down the front and around the hem. The skirt is a perfect slim A-line and the embellishment here circles the hem and is a full 5" high! Really fabulous and well made. This was a division of the Malcolm Starr company and their attempt to enter a higher end market. From what I can gather it only lasted a season or two but while it lasted it emphasized heavily on well made and beaded pieces like this. Excellent condition
Both pieces are lined in a grey silky rayon. The vest closes at the low front with hook and eye. The skirt closes with a back zipper. The embellishments are all hand sewn onto both pieces. There is a very faint spot near the waistband seam at the front. I only saw it in strong light lying flat and it will not photo. Hidden pockets in the skirt

From the 1978 collection comes this amazing red Halston with its long attached ties that allow you to wrap and style the bodice, waist and hips in different ways to accentuate what and where you want. This is a shorter cocktail or day dress length then the gowns shown. It is also made of a light polished jersey cotton which makes it so easy to wear and travel with and despite its sexiness is incredibly comfortable to wear - this was the forefront of that American sportswear aesthetic that combines comfort with high style and sexiness. The front is low in a gathered V with tiny straps that tie behind the neck. The ties originate from the base of that V. The waist nips in and the back is left completely bare. The skirt is incredibly full - if laid out flat it is a full circle with fabric to spare. Its absolutely wonderful. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This is the Radley version of the famous cut out dress by Ossie Clark. Ossie oversaw and designed for Radley for a time and during that tenure many of the dresses were simply solid colored versions of his print dresses from his own line. They are just as coveted and in particular this one is especially wonderful. If the red was not sexy enough, that deep plunge front with its tie under the bust and keyhole is just jaw dropping. The skirt is short and flared and I love the black edged ruffled and capped sleeves! Such a great find! Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The front ties under the bust as shown.

I do see John Kloss for Circa pieces here and there and since they were originally intended as lingerie pieces the vast majority are too thin or sheer to wear as proper dresses now. This one walks the edge - it def has a touch of sheerness in a strong light but you could use it as a cover up, just be daring or find a slip for under it. I am listing two of his feather printed pieces today and of all the Kloss pieces the print ones are my favorites and the most rare. John Kloss who was an Ossie Clark contemporary and I love his work. This gown is simple with a drop dead sexy twist with that twisted tie halter front. He chose good weight and quality nylons that held the color well and would drape exactly as he wished. This dress is a beautiful combination of corals and taupes shot through with sky blue that make up a killer feather print that covers the gown from tip to bottom. The front twisted and ties behind the neck and then cascades form that in a wide A-line of nylon. Sexy low back! Excellent condition!
Unlined and slips on to wear. Tagged a vintage Kloss for Circa Medium but check measurements. Edges are finished with his signature cross stitches.

Perfect for the upcoming season, this amazing De la Renta silk chiffon dress is just wonderful. Made of almost weightless silk chiffon with pretty soft pinks and corals set on a hand screened design to suggest feathers. It is suspended from the shoulders by two tiny silk straps and then flows loosely to the hem in a bias cut cascade of silk. The hem dips longer at the front center and back and is finished with pretty pointed edging. Each side dips into a low V to mimic this detailing at the hem. Easy to wear and very beautiful. Excellent condition.
Fully lined with an inner layer of off white silk that is also cut on the bias and has the same hem detailing. Slips on the wear. Hand finished.

An incredible set, this Givenchy ensemble is comprised of a black silk chiffon inner dress over which a lace overlay sits and then is belted at the waist with a silk satin sash. The inner dress is a simple, sleeveless sheath with elastic at the waist for maximum comfort. Over this goes that incredible full length lace dress that wraps at the waist and could potentially be worn open as well. The lace on this top piece has had its floral design highlighted by chenille yarn, hand stitched in place to follow the design on the lace. The original wide silk satin sash cinches in the waist. The depth of texture that the combination of fabrics creates is quite beautiful in person.
The inner dress has two layers of silk chiffon through the bodice and the skirt is lined in a fine black tissue silk. The lace piece is fully lined in a black silk organza. The inner dress slips on to wear with elastic through the waist. The outer dress wraps to close with flat hook & eye to secure it into place. Each sleeve has a zipper at its cuff.

This is a beautiful polished cotton safari suit by Ungaro that I just love. If you really want to have a seventies chic moment and mix it up with modern accessories than this is the suit for you! The jacket is everything you want in a piece with this aesthetic. Four pockets sit on the front and it has an amazing long, pointed collar that just feels so chic! It ties at the waist and the cuffs button - perfect for rolling up the sleeves to the perfect length. The skirt is marvelous - it is an extreme A-line and is almost a full circle if you were to lay it out. Everything about this outfit is chic and perfect! Love it! Excellent condition.
Both pieces are unlined and well finished inside. The skirt closes with a front zipper and hook & eye and the jacket buttons to close. Buttons at each cuff. The tie belt is original.

This is a stunning maxi dress made of a fine, Italian linen in that perfect sublime sand color that works so well in the hotter months. The skirt is cut on the boas and very full. It will create a wonderful, airy and floaty movement when the wearer moves. The bodice is cut with a plunge right to the waist. Your modesty is saved with the original matching colored slip that goes underneath. Love the front flat pleat details that are picked up around the hem as well. You could belt it with a fabulous leather belt for added shape! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Made in a hard to find, larger size, this Yves Saint Laurent smock or sack dress is constructed from a light weight polished cotton that is fabulous once on. These sack dresses were a mainstay of his line during this time period. They really played on volume and cut. Despite this fullness it can still be immensely flattering if the proportions are kept in balance when styled and on. I love the fullness through the body and that those spectacular sleeves were cut wide and full until they cinch in at the cuff on each wrist. A softly pleated round collar and buttons at the front are the perfect finish. It can be belted for a more defined shape. Excellent condition

Chic and simple this fabulous little Adele Simpson dress is that perfect throw on and go piece. Made of a black crepe, it is cut full though the body so is easy to wear. It is always great to have a sample by a designer and this Carolina Herrera spring dress and coat set is so lovely that it is a real treat to have! The dress is fitted and simple and the coat is also a simple and chic cut. What makes it stand out is that amazing rose print. The vibrant pops of red on the white backdrop is eye catching and beautiful. She always makes clothes that are appropriate and yet feminine and this set exemplifies that aesthetic. So versatile too since you can wear separate or together. Excellent condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a white silk with hand finishes. The dress closes with a back zipper and the coat buttons to close. Pockets on the front of the coat. There is a slight make-up line inside the front collar of the dress but it is not seen when on. Otherwise the white is vibrant and the colors true.

Chanel is having a red hot fashion moment right now and even though this suit is from the late eighties it actually feels fresh and now. I love the print especially - if you look close those are actually stylized little figures that make up the fabulous red and navy print on the silk. The top is cut like a little silk bomber and it buttons all the way open so you could layer it over other pieces. At the base of the jacket/top and on the cuffs and skirt are gold toned metal buttons that each have a little chic Chanel pump embossed on them. The skirt is equally chic with a flat pleats that hug through the hips and open for a big of swingy, sexiness as they near the hem. Very well made as one would expect and very Chanel. Excellent condition
The skirt is fully lined in a navy silk and the top is unlined but beautifully finished inside. The skirt closes with hidden set buttons and a gold toned metal button at the waist. What a chic and pretty spring coat by Andre Laug who was one of the grand Italian Couturiers . Laug apprenticed under Nina Ricci and was the designer behind the first "Mademoiselle Ricci" collection in the summer of 1961. From there he freelanced, working for both Philip Venet and Andre Courreges. It was in 1968 that he opened his own label and I believe this coat to be from fairly early on after that happened. I love that the cut and fabric allows you to be able to get away with wearing this on its own as a dress if you wished to do so. It is cut on a pretty A-line so you can wear it loose or cinch in the waist to add shape. The collar is kept neat and simple while little round white buttons adorn the front for a pretty finish. The floral pattern that adorns the linen-look fabric from top to bottom is very pretty. The little red blooms give the entire piece a chic and fresh feel. Extremely well made with a refined sense of glamour. Excellent condition

This came from the same source as the 1977 and 1973 Yves Saint Laurent gowns we have listed at the moment and it was sold as also being a YSL piece but unfortunately the tag is no longer present. It does feel like it could easily be a YSL piece as it is very similar to pieces we have had before in terms of cut and quality. It is an exceptional piece made of a raw black silk exterior and then is fully lined in a black fine grade silk. It's collar is ruffled, rounded circle that can stand up if you wish and it ties at the neck with a long attached tie. An incredible amount of fabric in this piece! The photos do not come close to doing the amount of fabric in the cape justice! Exceptional and the perfect topper to any evening outfit. Excellent condition.

Gene Shelly dresses are the cream of the crop when it comes to knit pieces. The sequins are completely hand applied and when you see the dress in person you realize just how densely they have been hand applied onto his signature knit base. This one is especially beautiful because of the color. It is a pale baby blue that is utterly feminine and romantic and still sexy as hell. I love the diamond pattern and the knit base allows the dress to stretch to fit where it should and hug all your curves. The Hollywood starlets were crazy over Gene Shelly pieces and for good reason. Excellent condition.
The base is a light blue knit and it does not have additional lining. It closes with a painted metal zipper. The sequins are all applied by hand and I see no bare spots. The measurements are taken flat and shows the comfortable range of each measurement

This is an easy to wear gown whose color and cut are very flattering. The body of the gown is loose and open making it very easy to wear and conceal any perceived flaws. The upper neck, shoulder and arms are detailed with stunning dangling beads that serve to draw the eye up to the face and put all the attention there. It is made from two layers of flowing chiffon so has a very light yet regal feel. I just love the contrast of the beads against the softness of the chiffon and the movement of the bead work! Excellent condition

This is a superb basic that has a wonderful nod to military wear with its structured shape and shoulder detailing. Constructed of a black wool that is warm but not so heavy as to be cumbersome when on. It is hard to find Chanel suits in a larger size so I am delighted to show you this one! Its a classic black and white boucle and I love how the weave has been worked so that the white bits form little "Xs", giving it a bold and graphic look while still retaining that classic Chanel feel. The skirt is cut straight and simple and the jacket is the classic Chanel box cut done on a hip length jacket. There are three pockets on the jacket and each is adorned with a single large glass pearl button. More of the iconic Chanel pearls close the jacket down the front. Inside is a quilted lining and that signature chain around the interior hem so properly weights the jacket. Excellent condition
Both pieces are fully lined in a fine quality silk and the jacket's lining is quilted. The skirt closes with a flat hook at the waist and a zipper. The jacket buttons as shown. Chain weighted hem. All the pockets are fully functional.

In the 1950s The society matrons of Toronto bought their couture directly from the houses in Europe, through the Simpsons and Eatons Couture salons or had them custom made by Cornelia Couturier who had an atelier in Toronto. Though not a member of the chambre syndicale de la haute couture, her clothing was made to the same exacting standards and the designs and workmanship rival anything being produces anywhere in the world at the time. This is an absolute beauty of an outfit that has all the fine details and workmanship the vintage collector lusts for. It is constructed from a boucle wool in a beautiful shade of sky blue. The dress is fitted with ingenious and avant garde feeling seaming through the bodice and waist to accentuate your figure. There are actual curved seams that have a slight raising to them so they sit off the dress! The skirt folds down and under itself at the front and each sleeve widens and has that unusual half seam on it. All very high end and unusual. The coat has a definite nod to the work of Balenciaga and Dior and is cut generously and full. I love the short bold sleeves and rounded sculpted quality of the cut. Those same unusual seams are mimicked at the front. Incredible construction and really remarkable and in person - even better! If this was a more well known label I would probably have priced it double or more then what it is at now - the coat alone is worth every penny of the list price. Excellent condition with some very minor flaws to note.
The dress is fully lined and ribbon edge finished in a white silk organza and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The coat is lined in a cream silk and closes with buttons as shown. There is some shattering to the lining of the dress but it is all original and can be worn as is so I have left it. Hand work and finishes throughout. There is a dot of yellowing just under the bust and another on the skirt and in the very brightest of lights a slight tinge of yellow under one arm - the seaming hides this completely when one. One button on the coat has a pencil eraser sized yellowed area. These are very minor and do not detract.

The silk is a twill and as fine as you see in an Hermes scarf. The dress is fitted with charming little bow details on the wide shoulder straps and ingenious seaming through the bodice and waist to accentuate your figure. The little jacket looks like a cropped cape once on. The ruffled detailing is the true delight of this set. Each of those 3 dimensional triangles are set by hand and each is lined in a red silk. The dimension and beauty this creates is spectacular. I love the little details like the cape is close by slipping the bow under the shin through proper dressmakers finished buttonholes and this detailing is mimicked on each shoulder. Incredible construction and a secret red silk lining that only the owner and those who wish it to be seen would ever guess at. Really remarkable and in person - even better! If this was a more well known label I would probably have priced it double or more then what it is at now. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade red silk and the exterior fabric is lined in a silk organza as well. Closes with two painted metal, hand set zippers - one on the inner dress and one on the exterior. The inner bodice has a built in foundation garment as shown. Hand work and finishes throughout. Each individual panel of the skirt is pieced together by hand and each curved triangle is hand set and sewn. The workmanship it to couture standards. Some yellowing just under the bust to the interior corset but it is only inside. The cape is lined in a red silk taffeta and hand finished as well. Proper buttonholes done by hand.

This is an absolutely stunning gown that we know was made in 1968 since it has a hand written tag dating to exactly November 26 of that year! Sadly it no longer has its original designer tag so it is a bit of a mystery as to who designed it. Bergdorf's would have been carrying all the big designers of the day back then and with the work and extensive beading this has, combined with the beautiful fabric, this definitely would have been by a major name. I know that one day I will stumble across a photo of it in an old Vogue or Harper's and the girl lucky enough to have grabbed it will be happy with a surprise email from me! The fabric is wonderful - it is a bright palette of color with silver thread shot through it so the dress has a wonderful glow to it. It is also very soft and not thick or stiff. The bead work is of course the most magnificent part of the gown - each detailed band is almost a full 2" and these are made of gold cord topped with beads, rhinestones and faux pearls. I love how all the edges have dangling beads - even around each cuff. It is really a beautiful and special piece. This came from the estate of Mrs. Noreen Drexel III. Excellent condition with a few small items to note.
Fully lined in a beautiful vivid green silk. It closes at the front with a series of snaps and hook & eye. Hand finishes inside and hidden pockets on the skirt. Some of the gold thread cording that sits behind the beads has started to fray but it is all still sound and adds to the vintage feel of it in my opinion. There may be the occasion bead missing but there are no bare areas.

When you need that perfectly made, forever chic LBD this is the type of dress you reach for every time. Norman Norell is the master of the little chic day or cocktail dress and even though his pieces sometimes appear simple they are really a study of cut and perfect construction. This dress is made of a medium weight wool crepe that walks the line perfectly between drape and form. It is a simple sheath with pockets hidden along its side seams. It has an attached belt that you can tie loose so that you keep that sheath feel or cinch to create a more curved shape. It is sleeveless and I love the little tag inside that tell you which way is the front. The inside is beautifully finished to a couture like standard. There is always one small but perfect detail in a Norell piece and on this it is that unusual softly gathered collar that give the neckline a slight fullness and edgy feel. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade black silk with hand finishes and ribbon edged seaming. It slips on to wear and one shoulder closes with hidden snaps. The tie belt is original and attached.

Chic and sophisticated, the connoisseur of vintage and the little black dress really cannot go long before a Norman Norell lands in her closet. His dresses are cut masterfully and beautifully with every line and seam placed exactly where it should be. This particular dress is a classic and I love it. It is a sleeveless wool crepe with the skirt set into the waist with soft gathers so it has just a touch of volume. There is actually quite a bit of fabric in the skirt and I love that it has hidden pockets along the side seams. I also love the little label that tells you which way is the front. Don't be fooled by it's simplicity - it is seamed and constructed to couture levels and the finishes within it are superb. A classic that will last you a lifetime and then still be relevant! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade black silk that is hand set. It closes with two side zippers, one inner one that closes the bodice and then another that sits from the waist down. There are hook & eye that then cover the lower zipper. The shoulder on that same side closes with hook & eye. It looks like the bodice was taken out about an inch on either side. It was well done and could be taken back in if needed.

This Halston IV caftan, in a stunning brilliant blue lurex with blue highlights, is an easy way to be instantly dressed up and still entirely comfortable. You will often see these in jersey but the metallic lurex ones are a tad harder to find. The blue is extremely dynamic and bold. These easy to wear and style caftan dresses can go from the beach to entertaining at home with flats, to full on evening glamor! It is cut deceptively simple with a slit front neck and a second slit that goes up to the knee at the bottom of the front. The rest is loose and easy with seamless set sleeves and a to the floor skirt that widens as it reaches the hem. You can wear this loose or belt it. Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!
Fully lined through the body in a blue silky rayon and slips on to wear. Has its original belt. Each sleeve snaps at the cuff The blue is slightly deeper in tone then how it photoed.

Early Calvin Klein is not the easiest to find and the really great pieces more so. This is a superb set that I really love. Both pieces are made of a rich black velvet that really moves and drapes wonderfully. The skirt is softly pleated into the waistband and has just the right touch of fullness. The top is really spectacular - it wraps over itself in the front creating a low and sexy plunge. The sleeves are wide and full near the body and then narrow at the wrist giving it an easy feel. I love the caped detailing that runs all the way around the shoulders. Versatile and chic! Excellent condition.
Both pieces are self backed. The skirt closes with a flat hook & eye and button at the waist. One hidden pocket along the hip. The top wraps and snaps to close and has buttons at each cuff. Tagged a 4 but please check measurements

Beautiful and luxurious black velvet was used to make this classic Chanel maxi skirt. The fabric takes the design to the next level and really makes it feel rich and special. Around the hip it is is seamed in little 1.5" sections and then it opens to a beautiful fullness through the rest of the skirt. This gives you the shape you want but in a very chic and subtle manner and it also has fabulous movement when you twirl! Beautifully constructed as one would expect. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a high grade black silk. Closes with a side painted metal zipper and closes with a gold button with the Chanel logo on it.

This little 80s Norma Kamali captures the reborn trend of the semi sheer skirt that we are once again seeing on the current runways. The skirt is completely made of a machine lace that is shot through with a secondary thread of a deep burgundy. It is very subtle but there so adds a touch extra visual interest to the piece. There is a lot of fabric in the skirt so you get tremendous movement when you twirl. By adding different colors underneath you will get an entirely different effect, or simple where boy shorts for a sexier look. The top is fitted velvet and the two textures play fabulous off one another. Excellent condition.
The top is self backed and the skirt unlined. It closes with a hidden set zipper. Tagged an 8 but please check actual measurements
