Chic and simple this fabulous little Adele Simpson dress is that perfect throw on and go piece. Made of a black crepe, it is cut full though the body so is easy to wear. Love the long lean sleeves and pretty satin bows atop each shoulder. You could easily belt this for more shape but I do like it loose and full with the length as it is! Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on. Two fabric covered buttons at the back neck.

It is always great to have a sample by a designer and this Carolina Herrera spring dress and coat set is so lovely that it is a real treat to have! The dress is fitted and simple and the coat is also a simple and chic cut. What makes it stand out is that amazing rose print. The vibrant pops of red on the white backdrop is eye catching and beautiful. She always makes clothes that are appropriate and yet feminine and this set exemplifies that aesthetic. So versatile too since you can wear separate or together. Excellent condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a white silk with hand finishes. The dress closes with a back zipper and the coat buttons to close. Pockets on the front of the coat. There is a slight make-up line inside the front collar of the dress but it is not seen when on. Otherwise the white is vibrant and the colors true.

Chanel is having a red hot fashion moment right now and even though this suit is from the late eighties it actually feels fresh and now. I love the print especially - if you look close those are actually stylized little figures that make up the fabulous red and navy print on the silk. The top is cut like a little silk bomber and it buttons all the way open so you could layer it over other pieces. At the base of the jacket/top and on the cuffs and skirt are gold toned metal buttons that each have a little chic Chanel pump embossed on them. The skirt is equally chic with a flat pleats that hug through the hips and open for a big of swingy, sexiness as they near the hem. Very well made as one would expect and very Chanel. Excellent condition
The skirt is fully lined in a navy silk and the top is unlined but beautifully finished inside. The skirt closes with hidden set buttons and a gold toned metal button at the waist. The top buttons to close with hidden set buttons and gold ones at each cuff, the waist and at the neck. Lightly padded shoulders.

What a chic and pretty spring coat by Andre Laug who was one of the grand Italian Couturiers . Laug apprenticed under Nina Ricci and was the designer behind the first "Mademoiselle Ricci" collection in the summer of 1961. From there he freelanced, working for both Philip Venet and Andre Courreges. It was in 1968 that he opened his own label and I believe this coat to be from fairly early on after that happened. I love that the cut and fabric allows you to be able to get away with wearing this on its own as a dress if you wished to do so. It is cut on a pretty A-line so you can wear it loose or cinch in the waist to add shape. The collar is kept neat and simple while little round white buttons adorn the front for a pretty finish. The floral pattern that adorns the linen-look fabric from top to bottom is very pretty. The little red blooms give the entire piece a chic and fresh feel. Extremely well made with a refined sense of glamour. Excellent condition

This came from the same source as the 1977 and 1973 Yves Saint Laurent gowns we have listed at the moment and it was sold as also being a YSL piece but unfortunately the tag is no longer present. It does feel like it could easily be a YSL piece as it is very similar to pieces we have had before in terms of cut and quality. It is an exceptional piece made of a raw black silk exterior and then is fully lined in a black fine grade silk. It's collar is ruffled, rounded circle that can stand up if you wish and it ties at the neck with a long attached tie. An incredible amount of fabric in this piece! The photos do not come close to doing the amount of fabric in the cape justice! Exceptional and the perfect topper to any evening outfit. Excellent condition.

Gene Shelly dresses are the cream of the crop when it comes to knit pieces. The sequins are completely hand applied and when you see the dress in person you realize just how densely they have been hand applied onto his signature knit base. This one is especially beautiful because of the color. It is a pale baby blue that is utterly feminine and romantic and still sexy as hell. I love the diamond pattern and the knit base allows the dress to stretch to fit where it should and hug all your curves. The Hollywood starlets were crazy over Gene Shelly pieces and for good reason. Excellent condition.
The base is a light blue knit and it does not have additional lining. It closes with a painted metal zipper. The sequins are all applied by hand and I see no bare spots. The measurements are taken flat and shows the comfortable range of each measurement

This is an easy to wear gown whose color and cut are very flattering. The body of the gown is loose and open making it very easy to wear and conceal any perceived flaws. The upper neck, shoulder and arms are detailed with stunning dangling beads that serve to draw the eye up to the face and put all the attention there. It is made from two layers of flowing chiffon so has a very light yet regal feel. I just love the contrast of the beads against the softness of the chiffon and the movement of the bead work! Excellent condition

This is a superb basic that has a wonderful nod to military wear with its structured shape and shoulder detailing. Constructed of a black wool that is warm but not so heavy as to be cumbersome when on. It buttons down the front with rounded black glossy buttons and when done up has this great swing feel to it - like a military great coat but done as a cape! Excellent condition

It is hard to find Chanel suits in a larger size so I am delighted to show you this one! Its a classic black and white boucle and I love how the weave has been worked so that the white bits form little "Xs", giving it a bold and graphic look while still retaining that classic Chanel feel. The skirt is cut straight and simple and the jacket is the classic Chanel box cut done on a hip length jacket. There are three pockets on the jacket and each is adorned with a single large glass pearl button. More of the iconic Chanel pearls close the jacket down the front. Inside is a quilted lining and that signature chain around the interior hem so properly weights the jacket. Excellent condition
Both pieces are fully lined in a fine quality silk and the jacket's lining is quilted. The skirt closes with a flat hook at the waist and a zipper. The jacket buttons as shown. Chain weighted hem. All the pockets are fully functional.

In the 1950s The society matrons of Toronto bought their couture directly from the houses in Europe, through the Simpsons and Eatons Couture salons or had them custom made by Cornelia Couturier who had an atelier in Toronto. Though not a member of the chambre syndicale de la haute couture, her clothing was made to the same exacting standards and the designs and workmanship rival anything being produces anywhere in the world at the time. This is an absolute beauty of an outfit that has all the fine details and workmanship the vintage collector lusts for. It is constructed from a boucle wool in a beautiful shade of sky blue. The dress is fitted with ingenious and avant garde feeling seaming through the bodice and waist to accentuate your figure. There are actual curved seams that have a slight raising to them so they sit off the dress! The skirt folds down and under itself at the front and each sleeve widens and has that unusual half seam on it. All very high end and unusual. The coat has a definite nod to the work of Balenciaga and Dior and is cut generously and full. I love the short bold sleeves and rounded sculpted quality of the cut. Those same unusual seams are mimicked at the front. Incredible construction and really remarkable and in person - even better! If this was a more well known label I would probably have priced it double or more then what it is at now - the coat alone is worth every penny of the list price. Excellent condition with some very minor flaws to note.
The dress is fully lined and ribbon edge finished in a white silk organza and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The coat is lined in a cream silk and closes with buttons as shown. There is some shattering to the lining of the dress but it is all original and can be worn as is so I have left it. Hand work and finishes throughout. There is a dot of yellowing just under the bust and another on the skirt and in the very brightest of lights a slight tinge of yellow under one arm - the seaming hides this completely when one. One button on the coat has a pencil eraser sized yellowed area. These are very minor and do not detract.

This is an absolute beauty of an outfit that has all the fine details and workmanship the vintage collector lusts for. The silk is a twill and as fine as you see in an Hermes scarf. The dress is fitted with charming little bow details on the wide shoulder straps and ingenious seaming through the bodice and waist to accentuate your figure. The little jacket looks like a cropped cape once on. The ruffled detailing is the true delight of this set. Each of those 3 dimensional triangles are set by hand and each is lined in a red silk. The dimension and beauty this creates is spectacular. I love the little details like the cape is close by slipping the bow under the shin through proper dressmakers finished buttonholes and this detailing is mimicked on each shoulder. Incredible construction and a secret red silk lining that only the owner and those who wish it to be seen would ever guess at. Really remarkable and in person - even better! If this was a more well known label I would probably have priced it double or more then what it is at now. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade red silk and the exterior fabric is lined in a silk organza as well. Closes with two painted metal, hand set zippers - one on the inner dress and one on the exterior. The inner bodice has a built in foundation garment as shown. Hand work and finishes throughout. Each individual panel of the skirt is pieced together by hand and each curved triangle is hand set and sewn. The workmanship it to couture standards. Some yellowing just under the bust to the interior corset but it is only inside. The cape is lined in a red silk taffeta and hand finished as well. Proper buttonholes done by hand.

This is an absolutely stunning gown that we know was made in 1968 since it has a hand written tag dating to exactly November 26 of that year! Sadly it no longer has its original designer tag so it is a bit of a mystery as to who designed it. Bergdorf's would have been carrying all the big designers of the day back then and with the work and extensive beading this has, combined with the beautiful fabric, this definitely would have been by a major name. I know that one day I will stumble across a photo of it in an old Vogue or Harper's and the girl lucky enough to have grabbed it will be happy with a surprise email from me! The fabric is wonderful - it is a bright palette of color with silver thread shot through it so the dress has a wonderful glow to it. It is also very soft and not thick or stiff. The bead work is of course the most magnificent part of the gown - each detailed band is almost a full 2" and these are made of gold cord topped with beads, rhinestones and faux pearls. I love how all the edges have dangling beads - even around each cuff. It is really a beautiful and special piece. This came from the estate of Mrs. Noreen Drexel III. Excellent condition with a few small items to note.
Fully lined in a beautiful vivid green silk. It closes at the front with a series of snaps and hook & eye. Hand finishes inside and hidden pockets on the skirt. Some of the gold thread cording that sits behind the beads has started to fray but it is all still sound and adds to the vintage feel of it in my opinion. There may be the occasion bead missing but there are no bare areas. Inside under each arm the silk has begun to split and there was some patch work done. It can be worn as presented and is priced accordingly. None of these small issues detract from the gown when on.

When you need that perfectly made, forever chic LBD this is the type of dress you reach for every time. Norman Norell is the master of the little chic day or cocktail dress and even though his pieces sometimes appear simple they are really a study of cut and perfect construction. This dress is made of a medium weight wool crepe that walks the line perfectly between drape and form. It is a simple sheath with pockets hidden along its side seams. It has an attached belt that you can tie loose so that you keep that sheath feel or cinch to create a more curved shape. It is sleeveless and I love the little tag inside that tell you which way is the front. The inside is beautifully finished to a couture like standard. There is always one small but perfect detail in a Norell piece and on this it is that unusual softly gathered collar that give the neckline a slight fullness and edgy feel. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade black silk with hand finishes and ribbon edged seaming. It slips on to wear and one shoulder closes with hidden snaps. The tie belt is original and attached.

Chic and sophisticated, the connoisseur of vintage and the little black dress really cannot go long before a Norman Norell lands in her closet. His dresses are cut masterfully and beautifully with every line and seam placed exactly where it should be. This particular dress is a classic and I love it. It is a sleeveless wool crepe with the skirt set into the waist with soft gathers so it has just a touch of volume. There is actually quite a bit of fabric in the skirt and I love that it has hidden pockets along the side seams. I also love the little label that tells you which way is the front. Don't be fooled by it's simplicity - it is seamed and constructed to couture levels and the finishes within it are superb. A classic that will last you a lifetime and then still be relevant! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade black silk that is hand set. It closes with two side zippers, one inner one that closes the bodice and then another that sits from the waist down. There are hook & eye that then cover the lower zipper. The shoulder on that same side closes with hook & eye. It looks like the bodice was taken out about an inch on either side. It was well done and could be taken back in if needed.

This Halston IV caftan, in a stunning brilliant blue lurex with blue highlights, is an easy way to be instantly dressed up and still entirely comfortable. You will often see these in jersey but the metallic lurex ones are a tad harder to find. The blue is extremely dynamic and bold. These easy to wear and style caftan dresses can go from the beach to entertaining at home with flats, to full on evening glamor! It is cut deceptively simple with a slit front neck and a second slit that goes up to the knee at the bottom of the front. The rest is loose and easy with seamless set sleeves and a to the floor skirt that widens as it reaches the hem. You can wear this loose or belt it. Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!

Early Calvin Klein is not the easiest to find and the really great pieces more so. This is a superb set that I really love. Both pieces are made of a rich black velvet that really moves and drapes wonderfully. The skirt is softly pleated into the waistband and has just the right touch of fullness. The top is really spectacular - it wraps over itself in the front creating a low and sexy plunge. The sleeves are wide and full near the body and then narrow at the wrist giving it an easy feel. I love the caped detailing that runs all the way around the shoulders. Versatile and chic! Excellent condition.
Both pieces are self backed. The skirt closes with a flat hook & eye and button at the waist. One hidden pocket along the hip. The top wraps and snaps to close and has buttons at each cuff. Tagged a 4 but please check measurements

Beautiful and luxurious black velvet was used to make this classic Chanel maxi skirt. The fabric takes the design to the next level and really makes it feel rich and special. Around the hip it is is seamed in little 1.5" sections and then it opens to a beautiful fullness through the rest of the skirt. This gives you the shape you want but in a very chic and subtle manner and it also has fabulous movement when you twirl! Beautifully constructed as one would expect. Excellent condition.

This little 80s Norma Kamali captures the reborn trend of the semi sheer skirt that we are once again seeing on the current runways. The skirt is completely made of a machine lace that is shot through with a secondary thread of a deep burgundy. It is very subtle but there so adds a touch extra visual interest to the piece. There is a lot of fabric in the skirt so you get tremendous movement when you twirl. By adding different colors underneath you will get an entirely different effect, or simple where boy shorts for a sexier look. The top is fitted velvet and the two textures play fabulous off one another. Excellent condition.

This dramatic, Haute Couture feeling gown, has a divine cut and presence about it. Constructed from a high grade silk gazaar that was likely chosen for its ability to hold shape and volume while still being light in weight. The gown is cut into a sculpted mermaid design with a high and voluminous caped effect that circles the shoulders and gives it its couture feel. At the back it closes in way that is hidden so the line of the dress remains unbroken. At the front, the caped shoulder highlights the face and curves down in soft pleats that work their way into the soft V neckline at the center. The waist nips in and the skirt is remarkable as it falls to the floor. From the waist to floor at the front it is a sleek column. At the back it is also cut in a fitted sheath to just past the knees. It then erupts in a full lower ruffle that gives it a trained effect at the back and volume at each side, to mimic and pick up on the shape and feel of the shoulder detailing. It is classic, feminine Oscar de la Renta and quite beautiful. Elaborate inner finishes. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a pink silk taffeta with hand finishes. Closes with a back painted metal and nylon zipper. There is a wide belt included that is not pictured. It is backed in leather and the leather has dried out. I will include it but it would need repairs. Personally I don't like the dress with the belt. It is far chicer without. Tulle inside the shoulder detail and back skirting for added volume as seen. There skirt is also lined with silk organza and has a band of stiffening inside the bottom hem.

The ribbed knit and soft cotton mix jersey used for this set is so fine and light that it is just wonderful to wear. The fabric also holds color extremely well making it a beautiful choice for a house like Missoni whose very reputation is based on color and print. Multiple colors are used in the pretty floral print through the body of the skirt and top. To give contrast they used a ribbed knit with all the colors of the florals pulled into fine stripes on both the wide waist panel and cuffs. The skirt has lots of fabric and moves very prettily when on. The top just slips on and is cut loose and easy with skinny arms and a generous cut through the bust. Buttons down the front allow you to show as much skin as you wish. Very chic! Excellent, appears unworn condition
Both pieces are unlined. The top slips on to wear with buttons down the front and the skirt has elastic at the waist.

One of the most coveted of all the Sant Angelo designs, these little stretch mesh overlay dresses are prized and hunted down by their fans! They are the ultimate fitted and sexy dress with stretch jersey under the top mesh. It was his signature to play with the tones of the inner and outer layers so that once on the dress takes on a pretty mix of the two hues. In this case the inner lining is a bright cobalt blue and the exterior a deeper blue. It is cut in panels and plunges at the front and back. You can make the skirt as high up the thigh as you dare. I love the little hip swag on this one that runs all the way down and around the skirt. I have not seen this particular detailing on one of his dresses before and it gives it a saucy, exotic flare. Very rare and special. Excellent condition.
A more covered version of this dress was photoed for Vogue Australia on Lana Ogilvie in 1990 by Anthony Gordon
Lined in a stretch blue jersey. Almost impossible to measure as it literally will stretch to fit up and down and will fit as small as a size 0. In 1990 the one pictured on Lana retailed for $1890 - add inflation and you can see the high cost of these!

Treacy Lowe pieces are amongst my favorites. She was a designer that really designed around her chosen and custom fabrics. She had most of them made to her specification in India so when you find a piece they are not only one of a kind because they are vintage, but also because of the small runs of fabric that she used. This one is a cotton that has been dyed and woven so that it has an almost iridescent quality to it and the color and tonality changes dependent on the light. Onto this is trim work of a hand embroidered detailing. It has its original sash so you can wear it loose and easy as a caftan or cinch the waist for shape. Love this sleek black velvet coat from Roberta di Camerino. It has that perfect lean seventies cut with pointed collar and the most amazing gold toned metal buttons. That glint of gold gives the coat an amazing luxurious feel! I love how it is cut slim through the body and arms and then flares out at the hem. Really exceptional and rare. Excellent condition

A beautiful ribbon weave silk chiffon dress meant to be layered over a slip or under-layer. The fabric design is classic Hanae Mori, drawing on her love of flowers. It is cut like a loose fitting sheath through the body and I love the primness of the high neckline. Each sleeve ends with a pretty little ruffle. What makes it unique though, is the pretty ruffles that run down each side of the skirt. This combined with that pretty ribbon effect running through the fabric and the cuffs give the entire dress a very romantic and feminine feel. It is very chic and pretty! Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a back zipper and snaps at the back neck. Each cuff has elastic just above the ruffle finish.

Bias cut, silk chiffon layers give this beautiful gown a light as a feather feel while keeping it looking expensive and chic. The inner two layers are black silk chiffon with a spectacular top layer that has a swooping design of a silver blue, a gold and a copper in a metallic fine thread applique fused onto the silk. The hem flares out at bottom, actually by quite a bit, but because it is cut on the bias it feels more like a column when the wearer is standing still and only displays its wonderful fullness once you move or twirl. The way it is cut is very old school and very much like earlier couture twenties pieces. It has that classic one shoulder shape and the shoulder from which the entire dress suspends is topped by a dramatic bow made of the same fabric. Really a wonderful dress! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a two layers of black silk chiffon that is also bias cut. It closes with a hidden side zipper. The bias cut allows for a variety of sizes as long as the bust fits

This is the all red version of the red and white suit that walked the S/S 1994 catwalk. Designed by Gianni Versace himself, this is everything you want in a Versace suit from this time period. It is constructed from a fine lightweight wool in the perfect shade of red that is immensely flattering to most skin tones. The skirt is a little A-line cut and is finished above the knee and allows for miles of leg to show. The jacket has a military vibe to it with a double breasted front and fitted silhouette. Silk satin straps go up and over each shoulder and are anchored with large silver metal medallions. This leaves just a peek of bare skin showing in between for a sexy edge. Those same buttons continue down the front of the jacket, getting slightly smaller as they near the waist. This change in size cleverly creates the illusion of an even tinier nipped in waist. Each of the buttons is made of a silver metal and are done in full raised relief, with the Versace crest and two circles of rhinestones. Each sleeve ends in a mock tuxedo cuff made from the same satin as the shoulder detailing and are each finished with the same large sized metal & rhinestone buttons. Beautifully finished. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a red silky rayon and close with buttons on the jacket and a hidden set, painted nylon zipper on the skirt. Tagged a vintage Versace 40. Appears unworn

A dreamy romantic cut combined with an almost neon orange and hot pink make for an ultra feminine and high end dress! This is Ferre at his best. The inner dress is actually a stretch bandage dress so clings to every curve like a glove. A stretch silk satin band binds the waist and then pink silk chiffon panels form a goddess feel bodice that is suspended from the shoulders by pretty velvet buttons. Panels of that same pink chiffon attach under the waist band in pretty panels at the front and back - by only placing them on the front and back he cleverly allows the uber fitted bandage skirt underneath to be glimpsed - a sort of subverted sexuality. The jacket is a classic cropped box cut and uses that same silk satin as its base and then those are all attached to each other by panels of the pink chiffon. It is honestly just wonderful and even better in person! Ferre is a designer that is sometimes overlooked but he really did amazing work! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
The dress is unlined and closes with a back painted nylon zipper. The fabric has stretch and is meant o fit very tightly. It has elastic along the inner bodice top edge. Each shoulder has a velvet button and loop to close. The jacket is fully lined in pink silk chiffon and has no closures. Both pieces are tagged as a 40. Note that there is a smudge on the side of the inner skirt under the panel. Priced accordingly

Based on the label and the fabric and after some research, I am fairly certain that this is from the 1997 collection. That collection featured knits with metallic elements. If it is not that year then I suspect that it is even earlier. It is rare to find early Dries and this dress is just a fabulous example of his work. It is a sweater dress and made of a lightweight knit that has silver thread worked through it so the dress has a subtle glint in the light. Fabric is always the start point for Dries so it is easy to understand how the design of this dress evolved as the cut takes full advantage of the properties of the knit. On the sleeves and hem the knit is a looser weave so you get a glimpse of skin peeking through - very subtly sexy. Both the sleeves and skirt flare at the point the weave of the knit changes. It is one of those pieces you just slip on and feel instantly fabulous in. It is meant to be slightly over-sized and sloppy in feel in that perfect nineties way. You can just picture Kate Moss wearing this with combats and some fab leather jacket thrown over it. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This pretty much sums up 1980s nightlife. It is a huge over-sized shape with a banded ribbed & elastic sweater at the hem. This allows you to wear it high up and as mini dress or you can wear it lower down and create a longer shape (both options are photoed for you). It is completely covered in glossy black sequins, all in perfect rows so you get the illusion of added height. Cut fairly generous, it is meant to be big and loose on the top and then you will have that narrow flash of leg at the bottom. You can wear it by itself or layer it over other pieces like skinny legged jeans or leggings.Super piece and in excellent condition.

This is a real treasure. There is a certain Malcolm Starr period of time where they were making the most exceptional beaded pieces in the British Crown Colony. These pieces, like this little perfect dress, are very high quality and very well made. A modern equivalent would surely cost several thousands if the work was replicated. If it even could be which I doubt! Glass tube and seed beads completely cover the exterior in a dense covering from shoulder to hem. Worked in and amongst those are trailing vines created from tube beads. These vines are decorated with pink and clear rhinestones like pretty pastel drops of dew. This detailing is on both the front and back. Because of the dense covering it has a good solid weight to it which, once on, balances perfectly and feels comfortable to wear. Really extraordinary and a real treasure! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in pink silk and it closes with a back painted metal zipper. I see no bare areas of bead work. Note that it was too small to fully close on the mannequin - it does do up entirely in the back in the right sized girl.

Butter soft leather with amazing and dramatic fringe combine with intricate embroidery on this iconic Claude Montana piece! We are seeing a resurgence of all things fringed this season and it is pieces like this that are influencing that! Wide padded shoulders that are embroidered create that strong shape. It narrows down to a wasp waist and crosses and snaps down the front. The sleeves follow this same tapered shape as they reach the cuffs. The back is where all the drama lies - fringes extend from either side of the beautiful embroidery at the back and down each arm. This creates movement and the effect when on is just fabulous! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with snaps at the front, set angled to follow the seam. Two pockets on either side of the front as shown. Note that the mannequin is a 4-6 and it is not pinned on her so a smaller girl could wear this and just have that over-sized feel.

This late seventies gown from Victor Costa is pretty fabulous. I am not normally a huge fan of velvets but for some reason the edgy mix of the black edged silver lame detailing puts this gown into a category all on its own. It is cut to hug every curve and follow the lines of the girl wearing it. It has a sexy rounded and scooped bodice that gives it an Old Hollywood feel and I love how the silver detailing is set so it trails up and over the top edge. The skirt widens as it nears the floor and at the back it has a panel of fabric built in to create a trained effect that starts at the low back. I adore how the silver is placed on both the back and front and that low back is just sexy! It is pretty phenomenal and I love it! Excellent, appears unworn condition
Fully lined in a black silky rayon. It closes with a side, hidden set zipper. Boned and lined through the bodice so wearing a foundation garment would be optional. The back panel is an actual extension of the skirt.

Insanely over the top, this Mr Blackwell gown is just fabulous! It has a mix of showgirl, thirties Hollywood & red carpet mixed with an undeniably eighties glam and it somehow all works! The extravagance of it gives it a high couture feel and the girl wearing this will definitely capture all eyes and attention! It is cut with an angled and full skirt that perfectly balances the huge and dramatic bow on the side. The other sleeve is a pouf that sits low off the shoulder. I love how the angled neckline mimics the angle that the low set skirt is cut at. It is a touch too big on my mannequin and I do not like to overly pin items, but do know that on a girl of the proper size, it will be more curve hugging. The fabric is a semi sheer silk organza set with little black and silver "eyelash" details that cover the fabric from shoulder to hem and add an interesting textural detail. It really is quite fabulous and a definite entrance maker. Excellent condition.
Fully lined through the body with a black matte rayon. The skirt has two layers of tulle and the puffed sleeve is lined in a chiffon. It closes with a side zipper and both ends of the puffed sleeve have elastic.

A killer gown by Bob Mackie who is best known for dressing Cher and for his love of opulence and bead work! He worked for both Edith Head and Jean Louis and I think he secretly always designed for the big screen and the bygone glamor of Hollywood. His work always is over the top and extravagant. This is an amazing silk jersey gown in a sleek and simple black that is cut to create height and curves. It would not be a Bob Mackie without some glitz though and the neckline and shoulder straps give it that in spades! Beads and rhinestones are heavily applied to completely cover each strap that curves over the shoulder. The bead work continues around and down through the curve of the low set back and then down the front to the waist on the front. Attached to those heavily beaded areas are dangling bits of beads and silver balls. The bodice and shoulders are very structured and molded inside so you are fully supported. It feels like couture on! Extremely well made and in excellent condition
Fully lined through the bodice in silk that is completely hand set, with a built in corset type foundation and is boned and slightly molded in shape. It closes with a back painted, hand set zipper. Hand finished throughout. The skirt is left unlined and the fabric is opaque enough that this works.

This is an incredible jumpsuit by the Scaasi Boutique label. This label was started as a ready to wear option and the pieces where exquisitely made, to demi-couture standards really, and it was very expensive in its day. Scaasi loved to design clothes that were extravagant and over the top. For him, more was more and embellishing pieces made them more interesting and dramatic in his eye. He dressed many celebrities, socialites and first ladies to! This jumpsuit is fabulous. Made of a white net on a nude chiffon base with gold thread worked through it in a swirling pattern. Onto that are gold sequins that follow the pattern underneath. The effect is a soft muted gold from head to toe. The shoulders are cut wide so you get a nice expanse of bare skin. The waist is cut slightly high and it can easily be belted for a more hourglass shape. Each leg is cut wide and full. It is amazing and I love it! Excellent, appears unworn condition
Fully lined in a nude chiffon and closes with a back metal zipper. Each sleeve has a hook and eye. The bodice is lightly boned. Each pant leg is finished with a wide piece of horse hair tape to it keeps its wide shape. Slightly more of a muted gold color in person!

A two time celebrity favorite, this stunning Yves Saint Laurent silk dress has been worn in its various color ways by both Gwyneth Paltrow and Maggie Gyllenhaal! From the collection that Yves drew strongly from the 1940s silhouette, the lines of this little silk dress are amazing. This one was done in a combination of black shot with brilliant pops of blue and crisp whites. It wraps and ties to close so is very easy to wear and feels great when on. It is also very forgiving and allows you to cinch it in or wear a little looser if needed. The shoulders are slightly gathered along their tops and the sleeves are cut full with lots of volume. Yves utilized a common forties trick of a small padding just along the edge of the shoulder seam that helps give the shoulder cap a little lift. It ties at the side and the front has the perfect plunge! Excellent, appears unworn condition! A classic and well documented dress!
Unlined and wraps to close and ties at the waist. There is an inner waist stay that hooks to close - if you need more room through the waist you can leave this undone. The tie and wrap design allows for a bit of give tot eh measurements of an inch or two either way.

What a find! This brilliant blue velvet dress reminds me of the lines of a vintage skating dress with that perfect Kamali twist! The skirt is full - there are actually several yards of fabric in there - and that fullness is made more apparent by the nipped in waist. The top is cut full through the base of the sleeves, again emphasizing that illusion of a tiny waist. I love that she chose to use snaps to do it up. It will completely close right up and will create a high regal neckline if you wish. The skirt is set in along the curved and dropped waistline in soft gathers of fabric. This adds a nice texture to the dress and a visual interest without having to add pattern or design. Full padded shoulders give it that iconic Kamali feel. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Unlined as the cotton velvet is self backed. Closes up the front with a series of snaps. Note that the bodice and bust area was too small for my mannequin - it does fully close up to the neck when on a smaller girl.

This brilliant blue Cassini dress has that sexy, cabaret, girls who lives best in the wee hours of the night, Studio 54 kind of feel. Made of 100% silk, it's completely covered in glossy brilliant blue sequins, all in perfect vertical rows so you get the illusion of length and leanness! It is cut fairly generous through the upper body and then is more fitted through the hips. Love the way it gives the illusion of a wrap over and it is tacked and stitched just above the hip for a nod to the thirties swag feel. The way it catches the light and the vibrancy of the blue is just fabulous in person! Excellent condition!

This incredible coat could have stepped of the spring runway since this silhouette is back and a major trend! The State of Claude Montana label began in the late eighties and the pieces were very well made and had that street edge mixed with high fashion that Claude was so well known and revered for. It is cut loose and easy with a wrapped robe feel to it. A long soft collar extends into the front edges. Pockets allow for the perfect slouchy stance and the original tie belt gives it shape. He designed for strong powerful woman and this coat has held its own even after all this time! Excellent condition

Chic, fitted bombshell cocktail dress by Carolyne Roehm. She worked at Oscar de la Renta and you can see that influence here. This is a label you don't see a ton of - she only had her company from 1985 to 1991 so when we find one we are pretty excited. This is a great example of her work and it is well made and appropriate for almost any occasion. It is cut simply, with a wonderful fold pleat detail at the waist that is curved and set to create a hourglass feel. A glitzy rhinestone encrusted jewel sits at the top of one hip for a bit of flash. Love that the sleeves come up and out of the waist so you get that bit of upper body fullness that was all the rage at the time and yet it maintains a classic, forever feel that goes beyond trends. This little red and black plaid halter dress by Ralph Lauren is just too cute for words. It is the perfect statement piece or you can layer it under other pieces to have just a hint of rugged sexy girl-next-door. It ties around the neck and leaves your upper back bare. A chic little red jersey dress by one of the masters of the jersey dress during the seventies, Stephen Burrows! Designers like Burrows were taking the classic silhouettes and doing them in jerseys for all the girls that were going out and dancing all night long. Just by changing the fabric like that, his dresses changed into something sexy and daring. He plunged the neckline on this one and seamed it so that it seems to wrap and tie around the body at the hip, but it actually does not. It is all just an illusion. I love how the top portion is lean and fitted and the skirt flares so that when you dance it has lots of movement. A beauty! Excellent condition

Dramatic is an understatement when it comes to this gown! This is the epitome of that over the top eighties decadence and that silhouette of a strong upper body paired with narrowing through the hips. Made of a double layer of stretch jersey in an ink black, the fabric drapes over the body and is set on the bias. The sleeves taper to skinny cuffs and are wide where they come out from the bodice. Though It is of course those two huge rings of dyed black fox fur that ring each shoulder and down and around the sleeve right to the waist where all the drama is created! The neck softly drapes at the front and then a shocking and daring open keyhole from neck to waist finish the back. Not for the faint of heart! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

What a gown! I normally stick to the earlier Halston pieces, in fact its sort of a rule since I am Halston obsessed. However, for every rule there is an exception and boy does this dress warrant breaking all the rules! A double layer of black stretch jersey is cut to accentuate your curves. The design brings all the draping and gathers in towards the center of the waist at the front and the skirt even curves up towards it as well. This creates a nice long and lean line. The sleeves are long and lean and each is finished with a full 9" fur cuff! The front plunges low and there are hook and eye running down to the waist there, so in theory you could allow it to plunge even further if you dared! Excellent, appears unworn condition
Fully lined in the same jersey as the exterior. Closes at the front with hook and eye to the waist and a zipper under that. Each cuff snaps off so that you can get the dress portion dry cleaned like a regular dress and not have to have it specialty cleaned each time. The cuffs show no wear at all. I suspect this was a custom piece as it is far better made then most pieces I have seen from this era of the Halston line.

This coat is fabulous. I really wish you could see how well it sits and moves and how great it feels once on! It has that classic 1980s over-sized feel which is once again the rage. It is made of a fine wool that is of a light-medium weight but warm. It's like a huge blanket with no closures - you could wrap it and add a thick leather belt if you wish, but it is meant to have that just thrown on feel. The sleeves are cut very wide so they continue that full and slouchy feel. If you remotely love it in the photos you will be doing happy dances once it is in person and on! Excellent condition
Partially line through the upper back and front like a kimono would be. All the seams are ribbon finished. Pockets in each side and immaculate inside. Meant to be over-sized so will fit a variety of sizes depending on how slouchy you want it to feel. The mannequin is a 4-6 and we tried it on size 8-10 and it works for both and could prob work for a 12 as well.

A very dramatic chiffon gown by the designer best known for dressing Marylin Monroe - Travilla! Done in an unusual pink and taupe combination the fabric has been perma-pleated meaning that there is actually yards and yards of fabric in this! It cascades from the shoulders and falls in a caftan like feel to the floor. The way the pink panel is set at a curve gives the wearer height and leanness to balance the sheer amount of fabric in this! The sleeves are semi-sheer and cut in the same shape - widening dramatically as they near their ends. Attached at the neck is a scarf that you can wrap and tie as you wish. It presents perfectly but has a few small flaws - the price is literally half of what it would be because of this and sold as found. Please see next paragraph.
Fully lined in a taupe silk rayon except for the sleeves and closes with a back painted zipper. When on it presents perfectly but when laid flat and the fabric spread out you can see snagging and small snag tears around the bottom of the skirt - I feel this was stored incorrectly and on too short a rack and this is from catching on rollers as racks were moved slightly. Literally halved in price because of this but you could wear this easily and never know - there is so much fabric it gets lost in the folds!

This is an unusual silk organza chiffon dress by Adolfo in beautiful shades of a soft chocolate with little applied dots of a fine felt. I love the muted color effect of those dots that the layers create by that gathering through the bodice and sleeves. Each sleeve is a single layer of organza and elastic is used to give a nod to the old mutton sleeve of the past. This Victorian feel is carried through with the bodice cut high around the neck. The skirt has three layers - the dotted one you see, a plain organza one under that and an inner silk layer against the skin. An attached tie cinches in the waist as much was you wish and adds a pretty solid pop of color to anchor the whimsical and light feel of the fabric used. It is so pretty and so unusual! I love how all the edges are finished with a ruffle. Excellent condition!
Fully lined in semi sheer organza with an additional layer of silk inside the skirt. The hip measurement is based on this inner layer. It zips to close at the back with a painted metal zipper.

Most Bessi dresses are flamboyant colorful things, but this one has a slightly more refined, laid back feel. This dress feels like it has stepped out of a time capsule - it is in pristine, like new, condition. Made of a silk jersey combined with silk chiffon it uses the print to define and accentuate its shape and cut. I love how the the very full chiffon sleeves are cut extra wide and are defined by that beautiful print border edged in a graphic black and white strip. The design trails up and across the bodice and back of the dress and then that same edging shown on the sleeves rings the waist and hem. The color is a chic and simple light taupe and the combination of jersey and chiffon give it an airy feel. Excellent condition
The bodice and sleeves are unlined and the skirt has three layers - two top layers of silk chiffon and an inner silk layer. The hip measurement is based on the innermost layer. Each skirt layer is edged with a border design. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note that it is more of a cafe au lait color then shown
