Bob Bugnand pieces are a rare find indeed and this gown is just beautiful. It makes me think that is the type of piece that a girl like Audrey Hepburn would have worn - with her hair piled high to emphasize that sixties chic goddess feel it has. The white silk crepe skirt flows in a long and lean sheath from the high cut empire waist. The top is stunning - a rich and luxurious, jet black velvet is adorned with twisted bands of sparkling rhinestones that really pick up and accentuate that Grecian goddess feel the gown has. The rhinestones are glass so the dress has a good weight to it but when on, it does not feel heavy or cumbersome at all. Extraordinary. Excellent condition!
Fully lined in a white silk crepe. Ribbon finished interior seams. There is a built in half corset that is the height of the black velvet so you don't have to wear anything else. This is lightly boned and finished to a high degree. It closes with two zippers - one in the inner corset and one hidden set zipper at the back. Very slight yellowing to the fabric around the hem at the back but it present perfectly once on.

A classic Yves Saint Laurent piece, this beautiful black velvet coat will never go out of style! The top portion is cut wider and fuller with a slimmer hip and it buttons down the front. I love the wide, bold shoulders that have a bit of padding in them and each sleeve finished with a cuff so that the sleeve poufs out slightly above. The edges are finished in his signature flat braid and this also gives a great contrast to the black velvet. It closes down the front with bold buttons that are set along the edge of the cord work. It can be worn open and loose or cinched in for more shape with the original matching belt. A take on a man's coat, it is classic Yves gender play and a great basic that still has that touch of seventies glamour. Excellent condition.

This is a fabulous 1960s Mollie Parnis and I think one of my favorite pieces by her to have ever hit the shop - it is hard not to love such a strong statement piece. It is certainly one of the most dramatic dresses I have seen and yet it still has a soft and sexy element to it. It is done in a beautiful chiffon that has been custom screened with a fantastic plaid design. The pattern is a combination of deep corals and reds with pops of different colored stripes running through. Those incredible and dramatic panels of fabric that act as the flowing sleeves give is a kimono-esque, exotic feel that is unbelievable. They are each a full 42" in length and trail down the sides. The way they move and flow when you move while wearing the dress is just incredible. The skirt flows to the ground in a column of chiffon acting as the perfect balance to the sleeves. The front and back plunge to just the right amount and the waist is defined by a wide band of gathered fabric. The contrast between the colors and the beautiful cut mixed with the volume of the sleeves is incredible! Excellent condition.

This wonderful and chic numbered suit would be considered demi-couture, specifically ordered by a client based on the collection designed at the time for Dior London and not purchased straight off the rack. The client would have been measured and perhaps chose the specific fabric and or cut that she wished but not gone the through the haute couture experience of having the design fitted from muslin at the Paris atelier. Numbered pieces of this type were often one of a kind and much of them done by hand. This suit is lovely - a boucle wool has a sting stripe and nubby detailing through the fabric. The stripe of the fabric has been used to define and highlight the boxed cut. The jacket is straight cut and closes down the front with large dramatic buttons. I love the wide edging that runs down the front and around the collar. The skirt is a simple pencil with a slight A-line as it nears the hem. Excellent condition
Both pieces are fully lines in a silky black satin finish fabric. The skirt has a hidden set zipper with hook & eye and a snap at the waist to close. The jacket buttons to close. The tag is numbered

This little Beene dress is a classic. I love it's proper little lines and combined with Beene's fabulous tailoring its a real stand out. Made of a striped grey wool that at first glance appears to be very simply cut but upon closer inspection you realize that all the shape through the body is created by cleverly placed, curved vertical seaming. Little pockets are hidden along the seam and it zips at the front with a concealed zipper that runs up that front middle seam. The collars and cuffs are a matte cream silk satin and give wonderful contrast. A big bow sits at the neck and the stark black of it offers the perfect contrast to the other elements. Fabulous day pieces are sometimes the hardest to find when you look to vintage but this one is wonderful! Excellent condition.

This late 1970s, perhaps early 80s dress is stunning. Its made of two layers of silk chiffon that have been screened with a vivid pink, cherry red, turquoise and sea blue stripe with all four colours swirling around each other in vertical rows. This instantly makes the wearer appear talker and leaner. The lightness of the fabric and the two layers over each other give it s carefree feel that perfectly combines high glamour with chic. The inner dress is more fitted with a simple tank strap bodice and long lean skirt. Over this is a more caftan feel layer that drapes over the inner bodice and skirt and flows to the floor. It comes with its wide tie belt that you can use to cinch in the waist for more shape, or if you wish to wear the dress so it has a more caftan vibe use the tie around the neck or as a head scarf! It's a stunning piece! Excellent condition.
Unlined - the inner dress serves as its own lining. Slips on with an elastic through the waist, Both layers are attached at the top of the shoulder and where the back inner tank meets the exterior fabric. A button at the back inner dress. The scarf/tie shows some thinning of the fabric. Its stable so has been left as found.

The lines and cut of this classic Chanel piece will never go out of style. This was shown on the 1996-1997 fall runway and we have included the footage in the video below along with a screen shot. The workmanship is of course impeccable. It is constructed from a classic Chanel boucle and is lined in a high grade baby blue silk that has those famous double Cs woven into the silk. It is cut very boxy, the shape is almost a play on a man's overcoat, but the combination of pastel pink and powder blue keep it very feminine. Four pockets adorn the front and the three on the hip are highlighted with a cabochon encrusted, gold tone metal button. Those buttons instantly identify this as a Chanel piece and they also adorn each sleeve and button down the front. Having all those jeweled buttons almost makes it like wearing a fine piece of Chanel jewelry. It is gorgeous. Excellent condition
Fully lined with a pale blue silk and closes with the buttons as shown. Tagged a 42 but please go by actual listed measurements. It is a light - medium weight coat. The buttons on the cuffs are fully functional.

Out of all the Goldworm dresses I have seen out there this one is my favorite hands down. I actually personally own its twin and am showered with compliments whenever I wear it. It is that perfect balance of sexy but fun ad you can't help but feel happy when you wear it with all that vivid color! This gorgeous and dramatic Goldworm printed jersey dress has a fantastic floral print. The blend of colors are amazing - vivid and vibrant colors are set on a white backdrop for the bodice and black for the skirt. A multi-color stripe runs around the waist and then up and around the neck. This use of stripe against the floral is genius. Its super easy to travel with and easy to wear - it works perfectly with heels or flats. A stunning statement piece. Excellent condition.

I am in love with this spectacular eighties two piece set from Norma Kamali that is super sexy and still feel so relevant even now! I love the two together best, but you can separate and wear them with with other items if you wish which is an added bonus. Both pieces are a liquid jersey that is so easy to wear and care for and drapes amazingly. The top is cut cropped and buttons on an angle down the side allowing you to wear it high and done up or low and sexy to one side. The pants are amazing - they are a extra high waist with a gathered panel cinching in the waist even more and then the legs are cut loose and easy through the hip and narrow to the hem - making your legs seem a mile long! Incredibly the set still has its original store hang tag attached! Excellent condition. A rare, mint condition example of her earlier work.

I think this is the most coveted of all the Bill Tice designs. A version of it sits in the closet of countless celebrities (Lady Gaga recently wore a version, as have girls like Rachel Zoe & Nicole Richie) and it is one of those fail safe pieces that you know is going to work every time you put it on. It is insanely sexy with a halter style front that plunges tot he waist and a back that is left completely open and bare. It is made of a liquid black jersey so feels amazing on and has the added bonus of traveling very well. Its the kind of piece you can throw into your suit case and slip on with either flats or heels when you reach some far off destination and be perfectly ready to go. The front has a high slit that shows when you walk or sit and I love the signature wide top stitch gold belt at the waist Its attached all around the back and then the front ties to cinch you in exactly tot where you want. Excellent condition.

Emilio Pucci did not always design pieces in his signature prints. Every once in a while he would throw in a solid color or metallic, less so as time passed and his prints become his bread and butter, but in the earlier days you did see solid colored garments. This one is a version of the documented 1966 jumpsuit found on page 324 of the book "Pucci" published by Taschen. The book version was done in a metallic fabric but here we see him play with two textures of black - one side is a matte silk and the other a glossier silk satin - and this one also has sleeves which adds a little more balance to offset those wide legs. The book captions describes this as the "Evening 'Chiardluna' palazzo pajama". The bodice and back plunge dramatically to the waist but are cut so that you can move freely without fear of sudden exposure. The sleeves are long and slim in contrast tot he pant legs. At first they appear to be a wide, full length skirt, this illusion helped along by a wide inverted pleat that runs down each leg. But underneath there are cleverly constructed very side pant legs making it very easy to move about in. So chic and sexy. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a fine black tissue silk and closes with a hand set, back painted metal zipper. Tagged a vintage Pucci 10 but please check actual measurements. hand finishes. Note that the zipper "sticks" a little bit near the waist seam but it is original to the pieces and does fully function so I chose to leave it. It just needs a little extra care near that area when closing.

A classic Hermes trench in a camel colored, coated canvas weight cotton! I love the fabric choice and its almost utilitarian feel. That mixed with the absolute classic lines of an original trench coat design make it feel surprisingly edgy even now. This looks like it has never been worn and is in perfect condition. You could potentially use a belt to cinch and add shape but I sort of like the volume and shape as is. Plus it looks equally great worn open. This is one of those classic pieces that will never go out of style and it is an instant shot of sophistication over just about anything. The fact that its a collectible Hermes pieces that is extremely hard to find just makes it more of an item to covet. Very chic. Excellent, museum quality condition
Self lined in an almost rubber feel coating and the seams are all properly finished. It closes with the buttons at the front. Hand carved horn buttons and two pockets at the front.

This gown is divine and made to couture standards. I love richness and instant impact of the fabric and the elegant cut. I feel that Halley designs always start with the fabric and this fabric is amazing. It is a rich, heavy cream silk with a hand paint design of grapes and flowers running over its surface in a soft, romantic wash of color. Over and through the design runs a layer of silk velvet fused over the pattern and used as an outline to give the fabric an extra layer of depth and texture. The bodice has a high neck and beautifully cut sleeves that widen as they near the wrist. The waist sits slightly above the natural waist line giving it an almost baby doll effect. The skirt is tremendous with a great volume of fabric and full underskirts to give it the shape and fullness you see. Halley started at Charles James who said of the young designer that he "was a genius at draping". By the time he opened his own atelier in 1966 he was in full form and was a master cutter as well. His work is on par with couture and each piece is hand finished and has all the lovely high end details one looks for in proper couture. He is without doubt one of my favorites and I treasure each piece I can acquire. Excellent, museum quality condition
Fully lined in hand set cream silk and closes with a back hidden set, painted metal zipper. The bow hooks into place in the back. Hand finished throughout with a multi layered inner skirt of silk organza and silk tulle in addition to the inner silk lining. Please note that it was too small to fully zip on the mannequin so I have included a back view photo of it lying flat so you can see it zipped as intended.

This is an incredible fur and the workmanship that would have went into it to create that amazing checkerboard pattern would still be a feat today. Schiaparelli is of course celebrated for her bold designs and elements of wit and the unexpected. The furs being produced for Schiaparelli during this time were of the best quality and that quality still shows as even some 50 odd years later the pelts are soft and supple. It is surprisingly light for a coat made during this time period - another nod to the quality and workmanship. Each square in a mere 1" x 1" so literally hundreds of them make up the surface of the coat. The collar, cuffs and hem are finished with luxurious panels of dark mink picking up the dark portioned squares within. A double rwo if buttons run down the front and there are pockets on each hip. I love the nipped in shape and you could even belt it with a wide belt for added curves. Its bold and beautiful and amazing. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in brown silk with the Schiaparelli logo woven through the fabric. It closes at the front with buttons. I see three olde, well done repairs through the fur - one of which I have photo - please super-size to view. They do not detract from the appearance when on in anyway. The pelts are soft, supple and shiny and there are no bald spots or shedding.

His work is on par with couture and each piece is hand finished and has all the lovely high end details one looks for in proper couture. He is without doubt one of my favorites and I treasure each piece I can acquire. This particular set is divine. I love that it is two pieces as you can break it up and wear them separate or as the suit as intended. I feel that Halley designs always start with the fabric and this fabric is amazing. It is a rich, heavy silk in a stunning yellow. Onto this is screened a floral print and each blossom and leaf is made of a grey outline and check. The larger portions of the design have an additional layer of silk velvet fused over the pattern, giving the fabric an extra layer of depth and texture. The pants are flat fronted and have a cropped skinny cigarette leg adding height to the wearer instantly. The tunic sits over the pants and feel almost like a properly made mini. It has a high neck, perfectly formed bodice and sleeves and cinched waist. Panels of fabric sit at the front and back, skirting the tunic and creating the perfect balance and proportion over the skinny pant. I love the wide sleeves - they are the perfect finish to the ensemble. Excellent condition
Both pieces are fully lined in cream silk. The tunic closes with a back painted metal zipper and the pants close with a zipper and hook & eye at the waist. There is elastic that runs through the waist band of the pants for an easy fit. Hand finished throughout and weights in the inner hem of the tunic and bottom of each pant leg. At some point the pants were let out for extra room - the inner lining was left open but stitched in place to accommodate and you can see a faint line of stitches on the exterior of the pant (please super-size the photo taken of this area)

If you need a bold, statement making, sort of crazy dress - you just found it! This is a fabulous Lanvin shirt dress from the seventies that is bright and happy feeling. It is made of a polyester jersey that takes and holds vibrant color fabulously and travels and wears perfectly - it is virtually wrinkle free! The cut is classic and simple - a button front sheath slips over the head and you are ready to go. The short sleeves are cuffed and the collar pointed. It has its original tie belt in a matching fabric so you can cinch on the waist for shape. And f all that was not good enough - the print in actually formed with a pattern of their famous "L" logo. Excellent condition!

A really amazing densely pleated silk chiffon asymmetrical dress by Alfred Bosand with a beautiful tiered design. Bosand was an American Couturier and is often overlooked in my opinion. His work is quite beautiful and he specialized in evening pieces. Here this beautiful and almost weightless gown is done in a beautiful emerald green silk. One layer forms the top and sits over a second, longer layer underneath and both layers are cut on opposite angles. I love how the edges of each layer has been rolled and then hand stitched so that you get a rounded fluted ruffle finish - so pretty! The top is stunning - it has one shoulder, leaving the other bare and the skirt is also cut on the angle so you get a flash of leg rather then full coverage. It is very light and the color divine - the bias, pleat cut makes it an easy to wear piece and that glorious color and cut gives it a high impact factor. Excellent condition.
Fully lined with a green silky chiffon, it closes with a hand set, side painted metal zipper. Hand finishes. The color is more saturated in person - the camera light makes it looks a little less intense then in real life

A beautiful Emilio Pucci dress done in one of his signature bright mix of colors with a primary base of a brilliant green and then highlighted with pops of color. Screened with one of his iconic floral prints screened onto a scarf weight silk. It closes shirtwaist style with a row of fabric covered buttons down the front and has its original belt to cinch in the waist and add shape. The bodice skims over the bust and the all the front edges are highlighted with a bordered accents in a contrasting design. This then tops a sleek and simple pencil cut skirt. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it not being super form fitting as you can choose to leave a button or two open at the neck or on the skirt. Very easy to wear cut and super chic. The entire dress weighs ounces and the silk is very good quality. Excellent condition.
Unlined and buttons down the front to close with additional snaps underneath. Original buckle belt. The fabric is signed throughout. Note that at some point the bottom hem was let down to expose the last border of print. I like it as is so have left it - you could easily tack it back up if desired.

This classic Yves Saint Laurent piece touches on his love of incorporating a touch of menswear into his designs. The cut is a classic take on a man's coat, from its simple cut to its man's suiting choice of fabric. Front slant pockets allow for a cool girl slouch and the top breast pocket is a play on a mans suit. It buttons down the front and to make it crystal clear that this is not an overcoat meant for a man, the buttons are fabulous rhinestone encrusted silver metal domes. Since it opens fully, this allows you to wear it as a light coat layered over other pieces or button or on its own as a dress once buttoned. I love the wide, bold shoulders that have a bit of padding in them and that each sleeve ends with two more rhinestone buttons in a notched cuff. It is a fabulous take on a man's coat that ends up being decidedly female. It is far better on and in person then how it photos so the lucky girl who grabs it will be very pleased. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

An early Oscar de la Renta jumpsuit is a bit of a rarity and this one is quite fabulous and just fun- I was pretty excited to find it! Made of a beautiful floral print scarf weight silk twill, it has just enough weight to not be shapeless but still feel light as air on. It really looks like a full maxi dress at first glance and then you realize it is full, wide pants! Cut simple through the bodice with a pretty ruffled accented V neck, it flares out from the waist in a delicious cascade of fabric forming two wide, wide legs! Each sleeve is long with a ruffled edge finishing them. The print is a over-sized floral with that perfect Oscar feminine feel. Really easy to wear but chic. A fabulous early example of Oscar. This Oscar De la Renta gown is a stunning take on all things Eastern and quite beautiful. The fabric is very beautiful on this one - the metallic design is a stunning combination of blue and gold with shots of pink and green thread worked in - these catch and glimmer in the light wonderfully. I love the cleverly placement of the contrasting border that runs around the waist in the belt and then down the folded over panel of the skirt and all around the hem. A thinner version of the same runs around each cuff and up the side of the sleeve where rhinestone encrusted gold tone metal ball buttons highlight each sleeve. The shape and cut is classic hostess gown and very glamorously Oscar, with a full skirt that flows to the floor and is perhaps a touch fuller then how it photoed. A fabulous Oscar gown that is even better in person. Excellent condition
Fully lined, including the sleeves, with a blue silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Rhinestone encrusted gold tone metal ball buttons at each wrist. A really spectacular one shoulder chiffon dress by Oscar de la Renta is so utterly, perfectly feminine. This is a glorious piece constructed of a multi color striped silk chiffon that flows and moved beautifully. The design that runs over it is amazing with bold abstract stripes that follow the bias cut of the chiffon. It is almost weightless and yet constructed so that it drapes on the body perfectly. The skirt is to the floor and has yards and yards of fabric in it. Two layers of chiffon are under the top layer so it gives it a very floating effect when you move. The waist is cinched with a long fabric sash in a matching fabric! This really gives an added sense of richness and luxury to the piece. The top is stunning - it has one shoulder, leaving the other bare and the bodice is hand draped and gathered. Excellent condition

This Oscar De la Renta gown is just waiting for the perfect party! The construction is quite interesting on this one - the outer layer is actually a sheer organza upon which the metallic design is worked onto in stripes. I love that the stripes seem to change in "weight". This is cleverly done by placing some of the golden threads above and some below the fabric. The collar, front, hem and each cuff has a heavy band of gold and silver braiding detail. I love the shape and cut - it is classic hostess gown and very glamorous with a full skirt that flows to the floor and is perhaps a touch fuller then how it photoed. It has a high neckline and little ruffled cuffs that are caught up in a detail of that same braiding that runs down the front. A fabulous and early Oscar design that is even better in person. Excellent condition

A fabulous metallic thread maxi dress with an underlying "peacock" pattern and gold thread woven through the fabric! Oscar then took that fabric and made it pop even more with the addition of a flat braided gold metal thread ribbon that runs down the entire front of the dress, across the waist and has a flat bow to finish. The cording also has little knots of gold and colored rhinestones set on it for added glitter. The skirt cascades to the floor with an inverted pleat running down the center front. The silk chiffon is lightweight and the fabric really allows the skirt to swirl around you as you move. The top sits over the cording defined waist and skims over the torso. Each sleeve is left unlined and is cut simply. Really a lovely piece! Excellent condition.

What a beautiful 1960s silk chiffon maxi dress from Oscar De La Renta! It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with that intricate pattern making it appear like it is a brocade or something along that line, but the fabric is actually a beautiful silk chiffon. The pattern is fantastic - intricate little designs are made from a fine silver metallic thread woven through the silk. The upper bodice is cut slightly full with large silver cord frog knot closures. I love how the silver design is used to highlight the bodice and the upper portion of the skirt and then tapers off subtly as is reaches the hem of the skirt. The sleeves have been left unlined giving it a touch of contrast despite it being the same fabric. The combination of silver and the soft pastel taupe really give it a pretty feminine feel. Presents as excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a matching color silk except for the sleeve which are unlined. It closes at the front with hidden fabric covered snaps and the frog knots. Each cuff closes with hand set fabric covered snaps above the ruffle at the wrist. There is a bit of a water stain edge that runs along the back of the dress - please super size the close up of the back to see. There is also a small repair to the fabric at the top of one shoulder and on the back. Priced accordingly.

An absolutely stunning and sexy red ruffled silk chiffon dress by Oscar De La Renta. It is so fresh and modern in feel that it could be easily mistaken as a piece from a current runway collection. It is masterfully cut on the bias so it simply drapes into place to skim over the body and move subtly as you do. The color is absolutely fantastic - the perfect clear red that flatters most skin tones - I think it is even better in person then how it has photoed! A triple layered column of the finest grade silk chiffon floats over the body and cascades to the floor. The bodice is strapless and hand gathered into tiny soft pleats that hide a full interior foundation garment. At the back you have a cascade of romantic ruffles that trail down the mid back to the hem. This adds to the illusion of height and leanness and also gives it a romantic and feminine feel. Very Grecian goddess and very sexy. The matching silk chiffon shawl is quite large so can be styled several ways. It is gorgeous! Excellent, appears unworn, condition
Fully lined in two more layers of red silk chiffon with a full built in corset through the bodice that is boned and has padded interior cups. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and the interior corset has its own zipper and hooked waist stay. Hand finishes. The scarf is in a matching silk chiffon and in excellent condition.

This 1960s embroidered silk organza gown by Oscar de la Renta is spectacular and even better in person then how it has photoed. Made out of a black silk organza, the fabric was then covered in hand embroidered vines, made from an off white heavy thread. The design is raised and applied in a way that each design that covers the dress is highlighted to maximum effect. The workmanship is wonderful. The bodice is plunged at the front and each sleeve billows above the cuffed wrist. It nips in at the waist and then the skirt is cut in a soft curving flare to the ground. I love the edging on the collar, cuffs and hems - they are little flat tassels that are a witty interpretation of an actual tassel. It is hand finished inside and all that work to the spectacular fabric is done by hand. It is museum worthy and very special. Excellent condition.

This is an early 1960s jumpsuit by Oscar De La Renta that definitely makes a statement! The black and white combination with the strong pops of blue in the pattern of the pants is fantastic. The top is cut very simple, tank style with ties on each side of the waist to cinch it in and add shape to balance out the full bottom. The bottom is a wide skirt effect pant so that depending on how you stand it appears to be a maxi skirt. These are a fabulous, bold floral design on black, white and blue and I just love the movement of them! It comes with its matching triangular shaped scarf that you can use as a head piece or tie at the neck. Excellent condition.
The bodice is fully lined in the same fabric as the exterior and the pants are unlined. It closes with a hand set, back painted zipper and a hook & eye at the back neck - there is an open slit between. The tie belt is attached at the waist. The scarf is triangular in shape and the same fabric as the pants portion of the jumpsuit.

I have included a photo of Charlene Dash taken for Vogue 1969 in a similar outfit where Oscar added a vest over a gown to create a fabulous Gypsy feel dress. It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with the gold - at first glance it appears to be a brocade, but the fabric is actually a light textured silk organza fabric. Onto this, gold thread has been worked in to highlight the vibrant print that is custom screened onto the gown. The pattern is fantastic - pinks and purples create a soft and pretty pattern across its surface and the gold creates a subtle glimmer. The upper bodice is loose and skims over the body and has a chic, pointed collar. The sleeves are left unlined and billow softly above each cuff. The vest is made of a smooth pile velvet with gold thread embroidery and beads hand applied over its surface. The original gold cord belt is present and helps to define and cinch on the waist. It is quite beautiful and wearing it with or without the vest changes the look and feel of it dramatically. Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a cafe au lait silk and closes down the front with buttons and hook & eye. The vest is lined in a matching color tissue silk and has no closures. Each cuff closes with silk covered snaps. The belt has loops and knots to close and is also in excellent condition

The museum quality, amazing silk chiffon set by Hanae Mori is just spectacular. It is so rare to find one of her hand beaded pieces and when it also clearly showcases her signature butterfly into the design it makes it that much more special. This set has all three orignal pieces - the long flowing silk skirt, that wonderful little hand beaded shell and a silk chiffon jacket that sits over the other two pieces and gives the entire ensemble her signature caftan, goddess touch. The design is her own and screened onto the silk and includes her signature throughout. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it that collectors crave when they look for the best of Hanae's pieces. This is couture on the highest level with everything about the piece deliberate and constructed to work as a whole. The top is a simple box cut tank with bead work hand applied to follow and highlight the pattern. The skirt flows to the floor and balances the top perfectly. The jacket has no closure except for a tie at the neck and sits over the other two pieces with each "sleeve" cut like a loose kimono sleeve. Museum quality. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition
The skirt is fully lined in a soft peach silk and has a second layer of silk chiffon between the top silk and then inner lining. It closes with a side zipper and flat hook & eye at the waist. Her signature tiny fabric covered snaps close the top portion of silk over the zipper. The top is unlined and closes with tiny hidden hook and eye all down the back. You can clearly see the handwork on the back. It also has fabric covered weights set along the back hem. The jacket has an full inner lining of silk chiffon and ties at the neck. Hand finished throughout. No label but the fabric is clearly signed throughout and there is no doubt that is is a Hanae Mori

This is a very rare and beautiful Bellville Sassoon gown that really shows why women like Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor chose this label for special events. The label also designed for Princess Diana. There was even an exhibit of their work last year at The Fashion and Textile Museum. This gown is a gorgeous combination of textures that give it a beautiful and rich feel. Every element on the gown has a depth and texture to it separate from the others and yet it all works perfectly together. The body of the gown is a crinkled metallic silk that has a floral pattern of deep red roses. The muted autumnal colors flow into each other in tones of deep browns, olives and russets all with a hint of metallic to them. The bias cut skirt flows to the ground, widening as it nears the hem and it has a longer train at the back. The bust is set high and is covered in embroidery and bead work - 3D in some places - giving it a rich luxurious feel. It is just exquisite! Excellent. appears unworn condition.

When I go over an Alexander McQueen dress the thing I always marvel at is how close it is in construction to dresses designed by the greats from far earlier time periods. This is due to his Saville Row tailoring background and attention to detail and construction. If not for the label and slightly different grade fabrications you almost get the thought that you are handling a piece of very well made vintage Haute Couture. He excelled in his tailoring and did not scrimp or save on seaming or fabric when he made a dress - an idealism that during the time he was alive was a rare thing indeed to find in the fashion world unless you looked at Haute Couture. The dress was made properly and in traditional manners with all the little details one comes to expect in a high end garment. It is impeccable tailored with the lining made of as high a grade of silk as the exterior. Small details abound - a zipper set so that it all but disappears from sight, seaming and drape work through the skirt and bodice so the cut is what gives it a slight suggest of a tulip skirt silhouette, and slight volume through the line of the dress. The front plunges quite deep and the drape panel of fabric across the chest accentuates the bust. It is beautiful and wearable and a great piece of fashion history and testament to his genius. Excellent condition with original tags still present.
Fully lined in a a black silk and closes with a back hidden zipper. The waist is created through vertical seaming. Tagged a size 46. This is not a runway piece and the date is based on my clients recollection and similar pieces sold from this year that we have sold in the past.

Linda Evengelista was photoed in a version of this dress from Vogue Germany in 1994 which gives us a date on this dress. It has the same shoulder treatment and very similar cut. It is hard to tell from how she is holding the dress but I think ours may have a touch more flare through the skirt. Versace pieces can be so sexy and chic and yet still have a refined air about them and this little black dress is a perfect example of that. It is cut to skim over the body without being overtly tight but does show off your curves. The body of the dress is made of a a lightweight black wool. The hem is finished with a swinging panel of knife pleated silk chiffon so when you move it floats and moves around you. I love the unusual cut of the shoulders that gives it a very sculptural feel. Excellent condition.

Andre Courreges pushed the envelope when it came to design and even amongst the many pieces of Courreges I have seen this is a stand out. The design and use of drawstring ties to create shape on this suit is so very cutting edge for the time and to be quite frank, still feels cutting edge for right now. This two piece pant and jacket set is in a chic black lightweight wool fabric that has a tiny ribbed texture running through it. The pants are incredible - each is cut straight and tailored and then just below the knee a drawstring cord runs through a loop all around the pant leg and you cinch it. The remainder of the pant leg flares out below this and above you get a puffed effect. They are just spectacular! I love the jacket equally- it has that perfect seventies vibe to it with his signature chunky silver zipper and silver toned metal buttons. Big flap pockets sit on each side of the chest and ties run through each side so you can cinch in the waist to add shape or wear it more boxy. Its a tunic style and slips on with slits on either side of the hip. It is of course great as a suit but you have that extra versatility of being able to break it up and wear them separately as well. Excellent, appears never worn, museum quality condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a black silky rayon. The pants close with a hidden set zipper and button at the waist. The jacket slips on like a tunic with a zipper at the neck and partial drawstring waist. Both pieces are tagged a Courreges B.

Andre Courreges began his career at Balenciaga and when he did suits you can see the influence of that strict tailoring mixed with the mod and easy style of street wear at the time. The way he used wools to mimic the synthetic fabrics being used at the time is pure genius and very cutting edge for the time. This two piece pant and jacket set is in a beautiful chic cream. The pants are are cut straight and tailored with a crisp knife pleat down the center of each pant leg. I love the jacket - it has that perfect seventies vibe to it with a double row of buttons to close down the front and pockets high on each side. The back is equally fabulous with a row of buttons running down each side of the back seam and a checked pattern created by top stitching. It is of course great as a suit but you have that extra versatility of being able to break it up and wear them separately as well. Excellent condition.
The pants are fully lined in a cream nylon jersey and close with a painted metal zipper and flat hook and eye at the waist. I think the girl that grabs this dress is going to be so pleased. The photos really do not fully convey the beauty of the fabric or the richness and depth of that thick border of beading at the collar. Sarmi was known for evening wear and dramatic pieces that were beaded and embellished with a decadent feel. The body of the dress is made of a chocolate silk, cut on a flattering A-line, almost baby doll cut, with a bow defining the waist. The neckline is the star of the dress - a wide border has been hand beaded over gold cording and the beads are set so that they dangle and move when you do. Pearls, beads and baubles are clustered tightly together to form a gorgeous panel of bead work that extends all the way around and behind the neck and down the front. It is like wearing your jewels on your dress! Most likely a one of a kind custom piece. Excellent condition

What a beautiful Pucci dress done in his signature, luxurious velvet and using one of his iconic angled prints done in here seasonal shades of cream and taupes with pops of coral and deep purple. The bodice skims over the bust with a gorgeous wide border treatment that accents the high V neck. This tops a sleek and simple skirt. Boldly down the back run his signature contrasting finish adding a bit of drama as you walk away or turn. That same border also circles the hem and each sleeve. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it not being super form fitting. The colors all pop against each other beautifully and the fabric choice holds that beautifully cut shape. Excellent condition.

This stunning Yves Saint Laurent set clearly illustrates his love and fascination with all things gypsy, bohemian and peasant in feel while the color and fabric seem to give a nod to his famous safari collections. This is like the perfect melding of the two ideas in one. It is actually two pieces plus a tie sash belt, which gives it endless styling potential. The skirt is a khaki cotton with a polished finish and the fabric choice gives it some weight and shape. It has an elastic waist for an easy to wear feel and is constructed of three tiers of fabric. These gradually widen to create the volume through the skirt that you see. I love the ruffled effect that this creates. The top and belt are made of the same fabric giving it a dress feel when they are worn together. Here I have left the top untucked and then cinched in the waist to show you the cut, but you could also tuck for a more stream lined look. The sleeves are incredible - each is very very full above the elastic cuff. The top can sit on or off the shoulders which really give it a bit of that YSL sexiness. It is an amazing and dramatic set! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Both pieces are unlined. The skirt has an elastic waist and slips on. The top slips on and has elastic as each cuff. The top is tagged a vintage 42. There is no label on the skirt. Original matching fabric sash belt

The fabric on this Bonwit Teller dress is just fabulously insane. It is a heavy weight silk satin that has been hand screened and painted with that killer floral design. A vivid coral has a wildly beautiful floral pattern of pinks and purples and the wonderful design covers every inch of the fabric except the cuffs and collar. The cut is simple and fully covers the body to balance out that sheer impact of color. The neck is high with a chic little black silk satin Peter Pan collar and the sleeves are long and end in a black French cuff. A black sash cinches and the skirt flows to the floor in a A-line column. I love the slit up one side that allows for a flash of leg. It is wonderful! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a coral silk and closes with a back, painted metal zipper. Each sleeve has a hidden set snaps to close.

The first thing that strikes you when you pick this up is that it is virtually weightless. The fabric is very fine and light and the entire thing is backed in a nude silk chiffon. This allows for that feeling of lightness and once on it is heavenly to wear. I love how she has used the graphic design to define the dress and "shape" the body. When you see this dress on the hanger you don't realize just how fabulous it is. It is only once on that you really see the masterful way she used the cut outs that run virtually head to toe to create a kind of subtle sexiness - you are really only covered by a layer of nude chiffon with that overlay and all the tunny threads connecting the main portions of the fabric keeping you decent! But at the same time the chiffon is a deep enough tone that you do feel covered. The sleeves are not lined so you get a more blatant glimpse of skin through the fabric. I love how the edges follow the curved scallop of the design. It is elegant and regal but sexy. It is also far more a true god and silver in person - the effect cannot be conveyed by the photographs! Its amazing in person! Excellent, museum quality condition.
Fully lined in a nude silk chiffon except for the sleeves. It buttons down the back with fabric covered buttons. Hand finished. Note that it has more of an overall gold and silver tone to it on person.

Wenjilli dresses have a bit of a cult following and if a long body hugging metallic knit dress is your thing - well once you discover this brand you are hooked forever. I know girls who have dozens of them tucked away as they are a fail safe, chic and sexy choice every time. Made of a metallic blue light weight knit this dress is made to act like a second fabulous, glittering skin (it has more of an steel blue undertone that does not fully come across in the pictures - it is really amazing!). It skims over your curves and hugs you in all the right places. It is long, long, long so be prepared to wear your highest stacked heels if you are not supermodel tall! (it does shrink up a little - the knit is done on a bias so adjusts to your curves) I love the pattern worked into the knit at the top and that loose and easy cowl collar. That same open weave that is on the neckline also rings each seeve just above the cuff. A different ribbing defines the waist. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Fabric will stretch - the measurements here are from flat unstretched to a comfortable stretch

I have had the twin of this wonderful printed silk Malcolm Starr before and the new owner of that one still treasures it. I am very pleased to have found another as it is quite beautiful. It has a bit of a hippie tribal vibe to it blended with a chic hostess gown silhouette. One can imagine this as originally residing in the closet of girls like Talitha Getty or Veruschka - and it would have been a piece that they would have thrown on with jeweled sandals and a pendant, champagne glass in hand, to entertain in. I love that the design would have been screened specifically for this dress prior to construction as the borders of the print follow the design exactly. The planning and excess fabric to produce piece like this is something that is not done today! The colors are still crisp and true due to the high grade of silk used. Easy to wear with a simple bodice that skims the torso. The waistline is highlighted with an attached silk belt with an interesting contrasting print. The skirt is amazing - it really borders on being wearable art. It flows to the ground in a beautiful widening column of fabric. Excellent condition.
The bodice is fully lined in a off white silky rayon and the skirt and sleeves are left unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. The silk is a fine scarf weight silk. Each cuff closes with fabric covered, hidden snaps. The belt is attached and closes with hook and eye. Hidden side pockets. Hand finishes

A very fine sequin wiggle dress by Ceil Chapman is a treasured find. If you love it in the photos you will be astonished when you actually get to see the level of construction and work that would have been done to so densely hand apply all the tiny sequins by hand to cover the dress with this amount of coverage. The base is a black silk crepe that is cut to mold itself to the curves of the girl who wears this. This is entirely covered in glossy black sequins except for the very top of each shoulder. The dress seems to be sculpted to create a second skin. The skirt hugs the hips and is cut close to the leg with a side vent to allow you to walk. The waist nips in to create that sexy hourglass, bombshell silhouette and it is swept up in a half twist and gives the appearance of a wrap finish. The bodice is fitted with a V neck and the back finished with a low curved scoop. The workmanship is exquisite and it is absolutely stunning and provocative. Excellent, museum quality condition.
Fully lined in a black silk. Closes with a back painted metal zipper. Perhaps an occasional sequin missing but no bare areas that I can find. Hand finished interior. Very light and fluid.

This is such an ethereal, romantic feeling gown by Alfred Bosand. Bosand was an American Couturier and is often overlooked in my opinion. His work is quite beautiful and he specialized in evening pieces. This gown is one of those pieces that you might not seriously look at on a hanger but once on the body it literally seems to transform into the stuff fairy tales are made of. Made from a a pale pink silk net that has little dots woven though it. This top net layer sits over an inner silk layer that is a pink with just a touch of purple tone to it. The overall effect is not quite pink but not quite lavender. The sleeves are amazing - they are very full and left unlined. Elastic sits at their tops so they sit off shoulder and then balloon out dramatically. The entire top of the bodice and shoulder tops are heavily covered in a panel of sequins that are all hand applied. This same panel of sequins circles the hem. The skirt cascades from to the floor and those bottom sequins anchor it. Very beautiful! Excellent condition
Fully lined in a pale lavender tissue silk that acts as the inner silk lining of the pink layer under the net exterior. It closes with a back painted metal, hand set zipper and has elastic in each sleeve and also at the top of each shoulder. Hand finished throughout. Hand applied sequins. The color is more toward the color in the label close up

This Malcolm Starr silk gown is absolutely stunning. It really is one of the best that I have seen and the combination of color, print and material used is wonderful. It has an air of refinement and elegance to it while still feeling fresh and sexy. The dress has a simple and classic cut - a simple sheath with a defined waist and a long, lean that cascades to the floor. It is sleeveless and both the front and back are scooped quite low. A slit is set along one seam but it wraps over the interior skirt so the line of the skirt is not broken but it is there so that you can comfortably walk. The base silk has a lovely floral pattern screened onto it in soft blues and greens on an off white back drop that has just a tint of blue in it. Onto this are dense, 3D clusters of pink seed beads with clear sequins set in and amongst the bead work. The effect is beautiful and all the work is hand done. This beading is done head to toe and some are even set so that the dangle off the fabric, giving you the teeniest bit of extra movement when you move. Its quite amazing. Excellent condition!
Fully lined in a pale blue tissue silk. It closes with a painted back metal zipper and has an inner waist stay that closes with hook and eye. Please note that in the full length back shot the zipper is not closed all the way as it was too small through that area on my mannequin. It does function perfectly.
