This is an early 1960s jumpsuit by Oscar De La Renta that definitely makes a statement! The black and white combination with the strong pops of blue in the pattern of the pants is fantastic. The top is cut very simple, tank style with ties on each side of the waist to cinch it in and add shape to balance out the full bottom. The bottom is a wide skirt effect pant so that depending on how you stand it appears to be a maxi skirt. These are a fabulous, bold floral design on black, white and blue and I just love the movement of them! It comes with its matching triangular shaped scarf that you can use as a head piece or tie at the neck. Excellent condition.
The bodice is fully lined in the same fabric as the exterior and the pants are unlined. It closes with a hand set, back painted zipper and a hook & eye at the back neck - there is an open slit between. The tie belt is attached at the waist. The scarf is triangular in shape and the same fabric as the pants portion of the jumpsuit.

I have included a photo of Charlene Dash taken for Vogue 1969 in a similar outfit where Oscar added a vest over a gown to create a fabulous Gypsy feel dress. It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with the gold - at first glance it appears to be a brocade, but the fabric is actually a light textured silk organza fabric. Onto this, gold thread has been worked in to highlight the vibrant print that is custom screened onto the gown. The pattern is fantastic - pinks and purples create a soft and pretty pattern across its surface and the gold creates a subtle glimmer. The upper bodice is loose and skims over the body and has a chic, pointed collar. The sleeves are left unlined and billow softly above each cuff. The vest is made of a smooth pile velvet with gold thread embroidery and beads hand applied over its surface. The original gold cord belt is present and helps to define and cinch on the waist. It is quite beautiful and wearing it with or without the vest changes the look and feel of it dramatically. Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a cafe au lait silk and closes down the front with buttons and hook & eye. The vest is lined in a matching color tissue silk and has no closures. Each cuff closes with silk covered snaps. The belt has loops and knots to close and is also in excellent condition

The museum quality, amazing silk chiffon set by Hanae Mori is just spectacular. It is so rare to find one of her hand beaded pieces and when it also clearly showcases her signature butterfly into the design it makes it that much more special. This set has all three orignal pieces - the long flowing silk skirt, that wonderful little hand beaded shell and a silk chiffon jacket that sits over the other two pieces and gives the entire ensemble her signature caftan, goddess touch. The design is her own and screened onto the silk and includes her signature throughout. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it that collectors crave when they look for the best of Hanae's pieces. This is couture on the highest level with everything about the piece deliberate and constructed to work as a whole. The top is a simple box cut tank with bead work hand applied to follow and highlight the pattern. The skirt flows to the floor and balances the top perfectly. The jacket has no closure except for a tie at the neck and sits over the other two pieces with each "sleeve" cut like a loose kimono sleeve. Museum quality. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition
The skirt is fully lined in a soft peach silk and has a second layer of silk chiffon between the top silk and then inner lining. It closes with a side zipper and flat hook & eye at the waist. Her signature tiny fabric covered snaps close the top portion of silk over the zipper. The top is unlined and closes with tiny hidden hook and eye all down the back. You can clearly see the handwork on the back. It also has fabric covered weights set along the back hem. The jacket has an full inner lining of silk chiffon and ties at the neck. Hand finished throughout. No label but the fabric is clearly signed throughout and there is no doubt that is is a Hanae Mori

This is a very rare and beautiful Bellville Sassoon gown that really shows why women like Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor chose this label for special events. The label also designed for Princess Diana. There was even an exhibit of their work last year at The Fashion and Textile Museum. This gown is a gorgeous combination of textures that give it a beautiful and rich feel. Every element on the gown has a depth and texture to it separate from the others and yet it all works perfectly together. The body of the gown is a crinkled metallic silk that has a floral pattern of deep red roses. The muted autumnal colors flow into each other in tones of deep browns, olives and russets all with a hint of metallic to them. The bias cut skirt flows to the ground, widening as it nears the hem and it has a longer train at the back. The bust is set high and is covered in embroidery and bead work - 3D in some places - giving it a rich luxurious feel. It is just exquisite! Excellent. appears unworn condition.

When I go over an Alexander McQueen dress the thing I always marvel at is how close it is in construction to dresses designed by the greats from far earlier time periods. This is due to his Saville Row tailoring background and attention to detail and construction. If not for the label and slightly different grade fabrications you almost get the thought that you are handling a piece of very well made vintage Haute Couture. He excelled in his tailoring and did not scrimp or save on seaming or fabric when he made a dress - an idealism that during the time he was alive was a rare thing indeed to find in the fashion world unless you looked at Haute Couture. The dress was made properly and in traditional manners with all the little details one comes to expect in a high end garment. It is impeccable tailored with the lining made of as high a grade of silk as the exterior. Small details abound - a zipper set so that it all but disappears from sight, seaming and drape work through the skirt and bodice so the cut is what gives it a slight suggest of a tulip skirt silhouette, and slight volume through the line of the dress. The front plunges quite deep and the drape panel of fabric across the chest accentuates the bust. It is beautiful and wearable and a great piece of fashion history and testament to his genius. Excellent condition with original tags still present.
Fully lined in a a black silk and closes with a back hidden zipper. The waist is created through vertical seaming. Tagged a size 46. This is not a runway piece and the date is based on my clients recollection and similar pieces sold from this year that we have sold in the past.

Linda Evengelista was photoed in a version of this dress from Vogue Germany in 1994 which gives us a date on this dress. It has the same shoulder treatment and very similar cut. It is hard to tell from how she is holding the dress but I think ours may have a touch more flare through the skirt. Versace pieces can be so sexy and chic and yet still have a refined air about them and this little black dress is a perfect example of that. It is cut to skim over the body without being overtly tight but does show off your curves. The body of the dress is made of a a lightweight black wool. The hem is finished with a swinging panel of knife pleated silk chiffon so when you move it floats and moves around you. I love the unusual cut of the shoulders that gives it a very sculptural feel. Excellent condition.

Andre Courreges pushed the envelope when it came to design and even amongst the many pieces of Courreges I have seen this is a stand out. The design and use of drawstring ties to create shape on this suit is so very cutting edge for the time and to be quite frank, still feels cutting edge for right now. This two piece pant and jacket set is in a chic black lightweight wool fabric that has a tiny ribbed texture running through it. The pants are incredible - each is cut straight and tailored and then just below the knee a drawstring cord runs through a loop all around the pant leg and you cinch it. The remainder of the pant leg flares out below this and above you get a puffed effect. They are just spectacular! I love the jacket equally- it has that perfect seventies vibe to it with his signature chunky silver zipper and silver toned metal buttons. Big flap pockets sit on each side of the chest and ties run through each side so you can cinch in the waist to add shape or wear it more boxy. Its a tunic style and slips on with slits on either side of the hip. It is of course great as a suit but you have that extra versatility of being able to break it up and wear them separately as well. Excellent, appears never worn, museum quality condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a black silky rayon. The pants close with a hidden set zipper and button at the waist. The jacket slips on like a tunic with a zipper at the neck and partial drawstring waist. Both pieces are tagged a Courreges B.

Andre Courreges began his career at Balenciaga and when he did suits you can see the influence of that strict tailoring mixed with the mod and easy style of street wear at the time. The way he used wools to mimic the synthetic fabrics being used at the time is pure genius and very cutting edge for the time. This two piece pant and jacket set is in a beautiful chic cream. The pants are are cut straight and tailored with a crisp knife pleat down the center of each pant leg. I love the jacket - it has that perfect seventies vibe to it with a double row of buttons to close down the front and pockets high on each side. The back is equally fabulous with a row of buttons running down each side of the back seam and a checked pattern created by top stitching. It is of course great as a suit but you have that extra versatility of being able to break it up and wear them separately as well. Excellent condition.
The pants are fully lined in a cream nylon jersey and close with a painted metal zipper and flat hook and eye at the waist. The jacket is lined in a cream silky rayon and buttons to close. each cuff buttons to close. Both pieces are tagged a Courreges 00. There is a "invisible" repair on one leg - please see photo. I think the girl that grabs this dress is going to be so pleased. The photos really do not fully convey the beauty of the fabric or the richness and depth of that thick border of beading at the collar. Sarmi was known for evening wear and dramatic pieces that were beaded and embellished with a decadent feel. The body of the dress is made of a chocolate silk, cut on a flattering A-line, almost baby doll cut, with a bow defining the waist. The neckline is the star of the dress - a wide border has been hand beaded over gold cording and the beads are set so that they dangle and move when you do. Pearls, beads and baubles are clustered tightly together to form a gorgeous panel of bead work that extends all the way around and behind the neck and down the front. It is like wearing your jewels on your dress! Most likely a one of a kind custom piece. Excellent condition

What a beautiful Pucci dress done in his signature, luxurious velvet and using one of his iconic angled prints done in here seasonal shades of cream and taupes with pops of coral and deep purple. The bodice skims over the bust with a gorgeous wide border treatment that accents the high V neck. This tops a sleek and simple skirt. Boldly down the back run his signature contrasting finish adding a bit of drama as you walk away or turn. That same border also circles the hem and each sleeve. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it not being super form fitting. The colors all pop against each other beautifully and the fabric choice holds that beautifully cut shape. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a cream silky rayon and closes with a hand set, back painted metal zipper. There is some discoloration to the inner lining around the neck bit this of course cannot be seen when on and has been freshly cleaned as are all our garments. I don't feel this detracts at all but have taken that into account when pricing.

This stunning Yves Saint Laurent set clearly illustrates his love and fascination with all things gypsy, bohemian and peasant in feel while the color and fabric seem to give a nod to his famous safari collections. This is like the perfect melding of the two ideas in one. It is actually two pieces plus a tie sash belt, which gives it endless styling potential. The skirt is a khaki cotton with a polished finish and the fabric choice gives it some weight and shape. It has an elastic waist for an easy to wear feel and is constructed of three tiers of fabric. These gradually widen to create the volume through the skirt that you see. I love the ruffled effect that this creates. The top and belt are made of the same fabric giving it a dress feel when they are worn together. Here I have left the top untucked and then cinched in the waist to show you the cut, but you could also tuck for a more stream lined look. The sleeves are incredible - each is very very full above the elastic cuff. The top can sit on or off the shoulders which really give it a bit of that YSL sexiness. It is an amazing and dramatic set! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Both pieces are unlined. The skirt has an elastic waist and slips on. The top slips on and has elastic as each cuff. The top is tagged a vintage 42. There is no label on the skirt. Original matching fabric sash belt

The fabric on this Bonwit Teller dress is just fabulously insane. It is a heavy weight silk satin that has been hand screened and painted with that killer floral design. A vivid coral has a wildly beautiful floral pattern of pinks and purples and the wonderful design covers every inch of the fabric except the cuffs and collar. The cut is simple and fully covers the body to balance out that sheer impact of color. The neck is high with a chic little black silk satin Peter Pan collar and the sleeves are long and end in a black French cuff. A black sash cinches and the skirt flows to the floor in a A-line column. I love the slit up one side that allows for a flash of leg. It is wonderful! Excellent condition.

The first thing that strikes you when you pick this up is that it is virtually weightless. The fabric is very fine and light and the entire thing is backed in a nude silk chiffon. This allows for that feeling of lightness and once on it is heavenly to wear. I love how she has used the graphic design to define the dress and "shape" the body. When you see this dress on the hanger you don't realize just how fabulous it is. It is only once on that you really see the masterful way she used the cut outs that run virtually head to toe to create a kind of subtle sexiness - you are really only covered by a layer of nude chiffon with that overlay and all the tunny threads connecting the main portions of the fabric keeping you decent! But at the same time the chiffon is a deep enough tone that you do feel covered. The sleeves are not lined so you get a more blatant glimpse of skin through the fabric. I love how the edges follow the curved scallop of the design. It is elegant and regal but sexy. It is also far more a true god and silver in person - the effect cannot be conveyed by the photographs! Its amazing in person! Excellent, museum quality condition.
Fully lined in a nude silk chiffon except for the sleeves. It buttons down the back with fabric covered buttons. Hand finished. Note that it has more of an overall gold and silver tone to it on person.

Wenjilli dresses have a bit of a cult following and if a long body hugging metallic knit dress is your thing - well once you discover this brand you are hooked forever. I know girls who have dozens of them tucked away as they are a fail safe, chic and sexy choice every time. Made of a metallic blue light weight knit this dress is made to act like a second fabulous, glittering skin (it has more of an steel blue undertone that does not fully come across in the pictures - it is really amazing!). It skims over your curves and hugs you in all the right places. It is long, long, long so be prepared to wear your highest stacked heels if you are not supermodel tall! (it does shrink up a little - the knit is done on a bias so adjusts to your curves) I love the pattern worked into the knit at the top and that loose and easy cowl collar. That same open weave that is on the neckline also rings each seeve just above the cuff. A different ribbing defines the waist. Excellent condition.

I have had the twin of this wonderful printed silk Malcolm Starr before and the new owner of that one still treasures it. I am very pleased to have found another as it is quite beautiful. It has a bit of a hippie tribal vibe to it blended with a chic hostess gown silhouette. One can imagine this as originally residing in the closet of girls like Talitha Getty or Veruschka - and it would have been a piece that they would have thrown on with jeweled sandals and a pendant, champagne glass in hand, to entertain in. I love that the design would have been screened specifically for this dress prior to construction as the borders of the print follow the design exactly. The planning and excess fabric to produce piece like this is something that is not done today! The colors are still crisp and true due to the high grade of silk used. Easy to wear with a simple bodice that skims the torso. The waistline is highlighted with an attached silk belt with an interesting contrasting print. The skirt is amazing - it really borders on being wearable art. It flows to the ground in a beautiful widening column of fabric. Excellent condition.
The bodice is fully lined in a off white silky rayon and the skirt and sleeves are left unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. The silk is a fine scarf weight silk. A very fine sequin wiggle dress by Ceil Chapman is a treasured find. If you love it in the photos you will be astonished when you actually get to see the level of construction and work that would have been done to so densely hand apply all the tiny sequins by hand to cover the dress with this amount of coverage. The base is a black silk crepe that is cut to mold itself to the curves of the girl who wears this. This is entirely covered in glossy black sequins except for the very top of each shoulder. The dress seems to be sculpted to create a second skin. The skirt hugs the hips and is cut close to the leg with a side vent to allow you to walk. The waist nips in to create that sexy hourglass, bombshell silhouette and it is swept up in a half twist and gives the appearance of a wrap finish. The bodice is fitted with a V neck and the back finished with a low curved scoop. The workmanship is exquisite and it is absolutely stunning and provocative. Excellent, museum quality condition.

This is such an ethereal, romantic feeling gown by Alfred Bosand. Bosand was an American Couturier and is often overlooked in my opinion. His work is quite beautiful and he specialized in evening pieces. This gown is one of those pieces that you might not seriously look at on a hanger but once on the body it literally seems to transform into the stuff fairy tales are made of. Made from a a pale pink silk net that has little dots woven though it. This top net layer sits over an inner silk layer that is a pink with just a touch of purple tone to it. The overall effect is not quite pink but not quite lavender. The sleeves are amazing - they are very full and left unlined. Elastic sits at their tops so they sit off shoulder and then balloon out dramatically. The entire top of the bodice and shoulder tops are heavily covered in a panel of sequins that are all hand applied. This same panel of sequins circles the hem. The skirt cascades from to the floor and those bottom sequins anchor it. Very beautiful! Excellent condition
Fully lined in a pale lavender tissue silk that acts as the inner silk lining of the pink layer under the net exterior. It closes with a back painted metal, hand set zipper and has elastic in each sleeve and also at the top of each shoulder. Hand finished throughout. Hand applied sequins. The color is more toward the color in the label close up

This Malcolm Starr silk gown is absolutely stunning. It really is one of the best that I have seen and the combination of color, print and material used is wonderful. It has an air of refinement and elegance to it while still feeling fresh and sexy. The dress has a simple and classic cut - a simple sheath with a defined waist and a long, lean that cascades to the floor. It is sleeveless and both the front and back are scooped quite low. A slit is set along one seam but it wraps over the interior skirt so the line of the skirt is not broken but it is there so that you can comfortably walk. The base silk has a lovely floral pattern screened onto it in soft blues and greens on an off white back drop that has just a tint of blue in it. Onto this are dense, 3D clusters of pink seed beads with clear sequins set in and amongst the bead work. The effect is beautiful and all the work is hand done. This beading is done head to toe and some are even set so that the dangle off the fabric, giving you the teeniest bit of extra movement when you move. Its quite amazing. Excellent condition!
Fully lined in a pale blue tissue silk. It closes with a painted back metal zipper and has an inner waist stay that closes with hook and eye. Please note that in the full length back shot the zipper is not closed all the way as it was too small through that area on my mannequin. It does function perfectly.

I absolutely love the dramatic color and cut of this piece. The combination of that beautiful red mixed with the floral pattern and soft billowing cut make it quite a stunning piece. I adore the sexy feel of this dress. It is constructed from a beautiful crepe silk chiffon that gives it a very light and airy, goddess feel. The bodice is stunning - it skims the torso and the entire neckline is finished with an elastic so that you can wear it wide and off the shoulder. The sleeves are left unlined and are full so they billow out with each one caught up at the wrist with a pretty ruffle. The skirt flows from the waist to the floor and the top layer of chiffon floats over the inner layer tissue silk lining - giving it a wonderful light and romantic feel. A tie belt of the same fabric is still with the dress and I have shown it wrapped around the waist. The dress has a fantastic romantic, pretty and light feel, but is still sexy and beautiful. Excellent condition.

I Have a Question
This lovely dress is made of a black silk that has a black metallic lame thread woven through it in a beautiful square check pattern, The patterns runs through the dress from top to bottom. The play of the matte silk with the lame thread on top of it is fabulous. The threads catch the light to give it depth and extra glamour. The bodice is cut to be fitted around the bust and cinch in the waist. It is suspenses from the shoulders with wide straps that curve up and into the low scooped back. The interior is lined in a high quality silk and there are built in cups between the inner silk lining and exterior. This attention to detail and the extra care put into the inner construction give you a clue to the quality of the dress. The skirt is very full and I love how it is set along a pointed drop waist at the front. This elongates the torso and also keeps the full skirt from feeling too overwhelming on the body. The skirt has a built underskirt that is made up of layers of tulle to keep that wonderful fullness that you see. It is a beautiful dress from an important French atelier/. It looks to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.
Fully lined with a fine back tissue silk and closes with a back zipper. There are built in cups inside the bodice. The skirt's interior has an inner layer of silk and then an elaborate tulle skirting with many layers through the hem in between that inner layer and the exterior. Another layer of silk organza interlined the outer layer of the skirt. Note that this does close all the way up the back - it was just too small on the dress form.

This fabulous 1972 ultrasuede suit is done in a deep russet red. The shortdresses were THE thing to own in the 1970's - and its a treat to have a custom suit in the shop. Similar examples are held in The Met's permanent collection and the notes there state: "Wrapping, tying, and folding were all habits of mind for Halston. That the designer prized simplicity is evident in his most famous millinery achievement, the pillbox hat. In this Ultrasuede shirtwaist, perhaps his greatest dressmaking success, he offered a versatile sportswear icon in a new material, allowing for countless individual expressions through personal styling."
I love the that this suit is larger and that it has such sleek lines and is so seventies in feel - the color is bold and rich in feel and the lines and cut of the suit superb. These can get stiff as they age but this one is still soft and supple. Each piece wraps to close - the skirt wraps and buttons and the jacket ties. I love the pockets on each hip of the jacket and the great collar and cut. Because they are separates they are very versatile and you can wear together to mix with modern pieces. Excellent condition.
The jacket is fully lined in a black silky rayon and the skirt is unlined. Both pieces wrap to close - the jacket is secured with the tie belt and the skirt closes along the waist with buttons and a flat hook & eye. Note that the wrap closures makes the jacket variable in size and you could easily adjust the waist of the skirt by moving the buttons - the measurements here are taken laid out flat seam to seam

This just might be the holy grail of all Gucci coats! It is extraordinary and amazingly beautiful. The coat is made of a hand dyed snakeskin in a beautiful, rich red hue. It has its original, detachable fox fur collar that is also dyed to match exactly and is wonderfully thick and supple. I love that you can remove it - it makes the trench that much more versatile and extends the season you can wear it. It buttons to close and you cinch the waist in with the matching tie belt. The belt ups the glam factor even more as each end is finished in a gold tone metal stylized "G"! This is a very rare piece and appears unworn. The snakeskin is weather-coated and everything, including the collar is lined in a custom silk with the seventies Gucci logo embroidered throughout. Really an amazing and fabulous statement piece. Its modern equivalent would retail in the tens of thousands. Excellent, museum quality condition
Fully lined in a iridescent silk lining with the Gucci name embroidered throughout. It closes with buttons that are embossed with Gucci at the front. The fur collar snaps into place and is backed in Gucci embroidered silk lining. The original tie belt is present and its ends are finished with stylized gold toned metal Gs. Finished buttonholes.

This little Jean Muir suit is a fabulous basic with the kind of subtle detailing that Muir became famous for. Her signature top stich is present on the collar, those fabulous shoulders, each cuff and the hip peplum. I love the nod tot he forties in the cut of this suit too. It is loose and easy through the body with a button front. This cinches down at the waist and then a stitched and shaped hip detail flares out over the fitted skirt. The cuffs pick up that same curved shape. It makes for a fabulous suit and you can also wear the pieces separately. Excellent condition.
Both pieces are unlined. The jacket closes with buttons at the front and on each cuff. The skirt closes with a side zipper and a button at the waist

Beautiful, silk jersey Pucci gown is just a dream dress. A stunning blue flower pattern covers the dress from head to toe in a gorgeous palette of blues accented with white and green. The loose and easy cut is so flattering on so many figures. The silk jersey flows perfectly from a dramatic, wide, square cut collar with contrasting edges. The sleeves are full and then cuff in at the wrist so that you get a nice amount of volume above each cuff. The same contrasting design that you see on the collar is also used on the cuffs and hem for maximum impact. It is really a beautiful example of Pucci's masterful touch with color, pattern and cut. Excellent condition

This fabulous 1972 ultrasuede shirt dress is done in a deep, rich olive green color. These were THE thing to own in the 1970's - no one had seen this fabric before and they were all the rage! Similar examples are held in The Met's permanent collection and the notes there state: "Wrapping, tying, and folding were all habits of mind for Halston. I love the that this one has such sleek lines and is so seventies in feel - the color is fabulous and the cut long and lean. These can get stiff as they age but this one is still soft and supple. It is a more generous size but the original belt allows you to cinch it in for shape. A simple and sleek zipper is set at the front and hidden pockets allow for the perfect cool girl slouch. The 1996 collection that Lagerfeld designed for Chloe was inspired by Power and the collection worked in light bulbs and played on the theme of power and power dressing. Here this beautiful blue silk dress plays on that theme with hand crafted, customs light bulb buttons that are used to decorate the front bodice. The shape and s[pan of the dress is its own play on the shape of a light bulb with a narrow cut bodice and exaggerate, rounded hips that curve out form the waist and mimic the roundness of those darling little bulbs. Under skirts in stiffened net and silk create and hold that shape. It is very chic and modern feeling still. In the recent exhibit "Chloe Attitudes" at the Palais de Tokyo, this theme and collection was one of points explored as the exhibit followed "a path through the very best of Chloé’s creativity, pausing at key moments within its history." Excellent condition.
Fully line in a fine blue silk line. Hand finishes and closes with a side hidden set zip. Pockets lie along the inset front vertical seams. The skirt has three interior layers - the inner lining of silk, a tulle layer with stiffened hem for shape and then a second inner layer of silk against your skin. Tagged a 40 but please check the actual measurements.

Chic and sophisticated, the true connoisseur of vintage cannot go long in collecting before a Norman Norell lands in her closet. His dresses are cut masterfully and beautifully with every line and seam placed exactly where it should be. This particular dress is a classic and I love it. It is a sleeveless wool crepe in a deep blue, with the skirt set into the waist with soft gathers so it has just a touch of volume. I love that it has hidden pockets along the side seams. I also love the little label that tells you which way is the front. Don't be fooled by it's simplicity - it is seamed and constructed to couture levels and the finishes within it are superb. A classic that will last you a lifetime and then still be relevant! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade, deep blue silk that is hand set. It closes with a side painted metal zipper. The shoulder on one side closes with hand set hook & eye. Hidden, silk lined pockets along the hip seams. There is a small repair on the back near the shoulder that is well very well done and does not distract. The interior construction is to couture standards.

An amazing testament to construction and pure joy of form, this stunning printed wool challis set by Yves Saint Laurent is perfection. The original owner was the wife of a diplomat and had many of her clothing custom made by YSL in her size. This is a wonderful opportunity to get pieces in larger sizes that are very high end - a rarity in the vintage world sometimes. Watch for several pieces from her estate to come! This two piece set consists of a loose fitting tunic style top and a swingy flat pleated skirt. Made of a fine, fluid wool silk challis, the drape is incredible. The top is box cut and that beautiful print! Gold tone buttons decorate each sleeve and sit at the hip. The skirt is classic YSL with an elastic waist. It flows over the hips and just past the knee. Love the border on the skirt that picks up the print in the top. Excellent, appears unworn condition
Both pieces are unlined. The top has hidden set buttons down the front and a gold tone button on each cuff with decorative gold buttons at the waist near one hip. The skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper and a large flat hook & button at the waist band. The waist band has elastic inside it as well. Very light padding in each shoulder.

The fabric on this Mr Blackwell Custom dress is just fabulously insane. It is a heavy weight silk satin that has been hand screened and painted with that wild design. His custom line was made to order so basically a demi-couture line and most, if not all pieces with that label are one of a kind and were fitted to the client. His clients for that portion of his business were starlets and socialites and I only wish I knew the girl that had worn this one! A vivid pink has a wild design of multiple colors and the wonderful design covering every inch of the fabric. The cut is simple and fully covers the body to balance out that sheer impact of color. The neck is high and the sleeves are long. A curved empire waist sits under the bodice an the skirt flows to the floor in a A-line column. The interior is the same shocking pink. It is wonderful! Excellent condition.

This beautiful two piece set consists of an easy fitting button front top and a swingy flat pleated skirt. From the time period around debuting his infamous Russian collection, Yves took fine wools and simple designs and then added romantic, feminine elements - here he takes the design to an abstract design on the soft wool challis base. The fabric is a silk and wool mix and the way it feels on, moves and drapes is incredible. The top is box cut and loose with buttons down the front that you can leave open as low as you dare or close completely to create a high, more severe neckline. The skirt is classic YSL with a fitted waist and upper hip. It flows over the hips and just past the knee. Excellent, appears unworn condition

Love this seventies suede Dior coat with its incredible swing cut. You can just see the mastery in the cut with that incredible back especially - there is literally yards of fabric in it and yet is falls in those beautiful soft rounded pleats with no seam work holding them in place - it naturally falls like that simply because of how it is cut! An achievement with mere fabric but more so with suede! The collar is incredible - over-sized and pointed, it is the perfect design detail around the face. Huge top stitched pockets sit on either hip. Its a chic nod to the Dior of the fifties but in a thoroughly modern way that still feels modern now. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a taupe silky rayon and closes with the horn buttons as shown. Tagged a 38 behind the Dior tag but the size is very variable due to the cut. Front pockets as seen.
The cut allows it to fit a variety of sizes as it is meant to be over-sized on a smaller frame.

This is a stunning dress with an interesting mix of textures. The skirt is a puffed silk brocade that is cut to follow your curves and definitely has that old Hollywood starlet feel to it. It falls to the floor in a sleek column. This is topped by a simple scooped and sleeveless bodice that is densely covered with glossy black beads and sequins. The bodice is molded to fit the bust and the neckline is a soft rounded scoop. The back scoops quite low and the waist nips in. Excellent condition.

This silk gown has great, and classic, lines. It is cut to fall in one sheath is the front with the more dramatic detailing at the back. The front is scooped with a black beaded neckline that is cut to sit slightly off shoulder. The bead work is quite large and has rows of dangling beads so they move a little when you do. At the back the beaded edge extends down and dips just slightly. As the gown nears the floor is widens and the back half of the skirt has an extra panel of fabric to create a pretty sweep behind you. Two bows sits just on the hip for detailing. Excellent condition but please refer to detail note below.
The gown is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. At some point the mid-section dart seams have been let out and there are slight lines on either side where it use to be taken in. I have chosen to leave it as found so the new owner can fit it back to where she needs it. The listed price take your potential alteration into consideration.

Kenzo Takada founded the Kenzo label in 1970 and it is still going strong today. It was, and is, a great success with a strong cult following and we get excited when we find amazing vintage pieces. Kenzo traveled the world and his designs show the influence of those travels. He often mixed Japanese lines with fabric from around the world and he paid as much attention to the interior of the clothes as to the exteriors. This coat has amazing lines to it. It has no closures and it manages to feel both very modern and very old and precious at the same time. The fabrics are all heavy cottons so the coat retains that flared shape when on. The inside fabric, and borders on the outside, are a striped fabric, the body a watercolor floral and each sleeve is a different pattern. It is so well made that if not for the label you could easily turn it inside out and wear it on either side. I love everything about it. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

The colors on this Emilio Pucci piece are just so pretty - they are a combination of soft pastels in an over sized design. The silk is scarf weight so the dress weighs virtually nothing. It is cut very simply with a shift shape that ends in a soft flare at the hem. The contrast is built in solely through the print and I love how the back is broken into his signature block design using the contrasting border print as edging. This is classic sixties Pucci at his best. The fabric is signed throughout and I love the easy to wear tunic shape. Presents as excellent condition.

I am crazy about the print on this 1970s dress by Maurice. It is a mix of butterflies and mushrooms on a blue sky background and that combined with the cut makes for one pretty dress. Maurice was a Pucci & Leonard contemporary in the seventies and used the same type of print work in his pieces. but tended to be a little less abstract. The dress has a gorgeous halter style bodice that is bordered with a contrasting print and has a sexy keyhole at the neckline. The skirt has a fair amount of volume and I love how it drapes fro that low angled waist line. It is a great & easy dress to wear- style it for day with flats or paired with a cropped evening jacket and heels for evening events year-round. Really a pretty and wonderful dress. Excellent condition.

Fabulous little outfit from the main Lapidus line that is really much better on a real girl then even how it photoed! Both the top and skirt have a pretty red floral pattern worked into the top layer of fabric that really pops against the cream backdrop. The skirt is simple and fitted with a flat waist band. The top has a more loose and easy cut with a wide set neckline that buttons on the front. The sleeves are left unlined and have a bit of pretty volume. It has its original belt for the perfect finish. It looks fabulous when worn together but also is very versatile ans separate. Excellent condition

This is a perfect transition set and so versatile as you can wear it together or break it up and style it an infinite amount of ways as separates. The skirt is a wonderful design with a double tier. It is made of a cotton with a hint of crspness to it. The two layers sit atop of each other with the inner layer set slim over the hips and then it flares out tot he lower hem. The top layer sits over this and has a perfect amount of volume. The tunic is a light weight semi-sheer cotton voile fabric and is actually cut ling enough that you could even wear it separately as a dress if you wish! The entire neckline has been finished with an elasticized ruffle so it can be worn off the shoulder as I have shown. Here it serves as a fabulous peasant style top but it would also look amazing worn loose and easy on its own or belted for more shape. I love the muted tones and chic colors that will really work practically all year round. Excellent condition.
The inner layer of the skirt as as the lining and the top is unlined. The skirt has a flat waistband and closes with a fine, painted metal zipper and button at the waist. The top skips on with elastic at the cuffs and neckline.

This is a remarkable little dress. At first glance you are struck by the wonderful graphic feel of that black and white design and as you get closer you realize that it is created entirely form teeny tiny little sequins set in different patterns and densities amongst sections of embroidery. These really give the dress an extraordinary texture and a upscale patchwork feel. The cut is very flattering. It is a little A-line shift that mimics the feel of a sixties piece. The modern fabrics and sequins keep it very light - much lighter then you would expect when you see it. It is very easy to wear and very striking. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Based on examples I have found I am dating this from 1965 when his fascination with dots seems to have really exploded full force through his collection. Here we see 4 variations of the dot used to maximum effectiveness. The top portion of the dress is a solid black and sleeveless. This balances out the skirt which is full and to the floor. The original belt holds the 4th dot and I love how they graduate in size and density from the belt to the final huge dot pattern that circles the hem. Made of his signature knit poly jersey it is easy to wear and care for. It is very rare to see apiece with its belt. A magnificent statement dress and highly collectible. Excellent condition.

The earlier Moschino pieces are so much fun! They have that bit of wit that Franco Moschino so successfully infused into them. His clothes are always cut well, due to his tailoring beginnings and this balances out the sometimes outrageous designs. This little fitted shift has a bold black and white dot print. Onto the front are huge appliques of fruit that pop off the dotted background in vivid colors. They include cherries, a lemon, orange and watermelon slice. It is a definite showpiece and so fun! Presents as excellent condition.

Studded pieces from the 1940s are almost impossible to find and often examples that you do find will just have a touch or detailing of stud work. This spectacular Fred Block suit is like the holy grail as it is completely covered in hand set silver studs with a denser application of them on the front of the jacket. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine with a beautifully fitted silhouette. The skirt skims over the hips with the slightest of A-lines. The jacket is cut in a classic forties design with a trim and fitted waist and shoulders that are set square. Over the entire surface of the silk wool crepe are tiny hand set silver studs, each individually placed in prong settings and then hammered flat by hand. They are evenly spaced to completely cover both pieces. When they hit that gray portion of the jackets shoulders they are set in a more dense pattern that really catches the light. One of the most striking and unusual 1940s suits I have ever had. Excellent condition
The skirt is unlined and closes with a side unpainted metal zipper. The jacket is lined in a silk and closes with fabric covered buttons as shown. Hand finsished and properly finished buttonholes. I see no missing studs.

These studded dresses from the 1940s are almost impossible to find and often examples have just a touch or detailing of stud work. This one however is like the holy grail as it is completely covered in hand set silver studs with a denser application of them on the collar. Combine that with the rare Eisenberg and Sons label and you have a winning combination for any collector. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine. The skirt skims over the hips and four inset pleated vents give it an extra kick and swing effect. The bodice is classic forties with short sleeves and a tie neck. Over the entire surface of the Ink black stretch silk crepe are tiny hand set silver studs, each individually placed in prong settings and then hammered flat by hand. They are evenly spaced to cover the dresses entirely except for the collar where they are set in a tightly spaced formation for extra detailing. One of the most striking and unusual 1940s dresses I have ever had. Excellent condition

This early 1950s set is still so chic and I love that mix of the fitted bombshell dress with the full and dramatic coat. The coat is cut in a way that almost reminds me of petals- especially in the way that each sleeve and shoulder is constructed. The dress is It a loose cut, voluminous draped affair constructed entirely of a brilliant green heavy silk satin Curved lines and dramatic buttons add a rich feel and then lined in an olive silk to match the sash of the dress. The dress has a sculpted fitted cut with a curved and seamed bodice. The waist nips in and the skirt is fitted. Presents as excellent condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a green silky rayon. The coat has no closures. The dress closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note that there are some small flaws that when on do not distract but are present when you really look. There is a faint darkening to the fabric around the upper collar on the coat and this also appears on the skirt middle front and back - I believe this is from storage and being left folded for a long time. I could not capture it with the camera. Again once one you will not notice this at all. I have priced the set down accordingly

Once in a while a dress comes along that just takes your breath away and this is one of those times. This is a spectacular dress and capelet ensemble that I would bet my last vintage dollar once also had a designer label from one of the important houses of the day. The workmanship and quality and sheer beauty of it are mind boggling. The fabric is the star here with a green silk floral print base that has a soft metallic sheen worked through it. Over this are vertical bands that start at the hem and go up the entire dress. Each band is a wide swath of a very fine, metallic silk brocade that is edged in silver rows of tube beads and has large 3D bead flowers hand formed and running in a tightly spaced design around the dress within each row. This adds a substantial amount of weight to the dress but once on it is perfectly balanced and feels far from heavy. The cut is simple and fitted with wide straps and a straight across neckline. The cape just covers the shoulders and is an absolute gem - almost like topping the dress with a jewel rather then fabric. The construction is marvelous and it is really and truly a special pieces. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in silk - silk taffeta through the body and cape and a silk satin through the bodice. Ribbon finished edges. Lightly boned through the bodice. The cape closes with a fabric covered snap and the dress with a back painted metal zipper. Hand finished interior. You could potentially tuck down the straps and wear this strapless as well.

Absolutely stunning silk net full length dress by Mollie Parnis, who one of my favorite American designers! The dress is from her companies high end, demi-couture line and it shows. It is a fantastical combination if silk with a velvet pattern fused to the fabric and of course that feather detailing at the cuffs and neck! Each sleeve and the collar is finished with a a beautiful circle of glossy black feathers giving the gown a truly dramatic feel. The waist is defined by a wide silk sating ribbon that gives the perfect contrast. The sleeves are left unlined to counter balance the fabric that covers you from head to toe. It is really the fabric that is the star after the feather treatment - it is a light silk chiffon that has an abstract dot pattern of fused velvet. I love the contrast this creates. That textural effect paired with the high drama of the feathers make for a real show stopper. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a nude silk net through the upper shoulders and a black silk through the skirt & bodice. The sleeves are left unlined. It closes at the back with a hand set, painted metal zipper and snaps at each cuff. Lots of hand finishing and the feathers are glossy and there is no shedding.

This Pucci is particularly special as it still retains its belt with its beaded finish. These belts (which we have seen worn as necklaces) were made by Coppola e Toppo and are well documents. I have seen these sold on their own for several hundred dollars! Here we are lucky enough to have both the belt and the spectacular dress that it was made for. This absolutely gorgeous Pucci dress has a superb citrus color palette and is made of his signature lightweight silk jersey. It was custom screened with one of his infamous designs. Skinny sleeves and a fitted bodice that continues down into a chic pencil skirted sheath. This is a classic Pucci silhouette and is instantly recognizable. The entire dress weighs ounces and is wonderfully bright and happy in feel as all great Pucci's are! Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on to wear with a short painted metal zip at the back neck. Measurements are flat without adding any stretch though the fabric does stretch a bit if you need it.

I love these terry cloth, toweling pieces from Pucci. They are fabulous when you go on vacation and an easy way to add an instant pop of vintage glam to the beach or pool. This one is extra fabulous as it easily doubles as a mini. The pattern is pure Pucci with its wonderful mix of blues and browns. I love the ruffle collar detailing and the short sleeves. It zips all the way open so is a great layering pieces as well. Presents as excellent condition
Unlined and zips to close at the front. It looks like someone wore self tan at some point and there are areas of discoloration on the inside near the back bottom hem and on the front inside at the bust. They are faint but there. The one on the front has bled through just a teeny bit - super size the cropped front straight on pic to see. Does not distract once on at all. Priced accordingly and a steal at this price!
