Every time I look at this dress I instantly think of the infamous gown that Julia Roberts wore for her big Oscar win. This is far simpler and all black but it has that feel though the back and seems a simpler, more pared down version of the its successor. Seriously sexy but in that oh so chic Valentino kind of way. It is constructed from a rich black silk crepe and the back panels are black silk. The pay of textures is what makes the back panel stand out and become highlighted! The front is a simple strapless gown with a panel of silk running across the top and the rest falling to the floor in a sleek column. The entire bodice has a built in corset so you get no lines from the exterior but perfectly fit under. The back is genius with flat pleated seam done with couture precision. Once those seams hit below the torso they open to beautiful knife pleats that give the skirt fullness and a "train" effect! The genius is in the cut and simplicity as is Valentino's specialty. Excellent condition.

This fabulous little dress has its Bonwit Teller label and no other. That said, I have had a very similar Oscar de la Renta in the past and this dress has the same high quality construction and finishes as that one. I am positive that this is an unlabeled Oscar and I am sure one day i will stumble across another with a label or find a reference photo. The dress is fabulous and made from layers of silk organza inside the skirt that are topped by a layer of patterned silk with gold lame thread running through the silk. The colors are mix of a soft pastel greens with bits of a vibrant pink thrown in to serve as contrast. The skirt is full and widens at the hem from the waist. The bodice is cut to skim over the body. I love the full sleeves that are caught up at each wrist so that they pouf up above each cuff. The attached padded belt at the waist is fantastic and is detailed with four X shaped, pink rhinestone encrusted jewels- two at the front and two at back. In person this gown literally seems to glow - it is quite beautiful. Presents as excellent condition but has notes below to review concerning condition.
Fully lined in a pale green silk chiffon through the bodice and the sleeves are left unlined. The skirt has two inner layers of green silk organza. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and the belt closes with a hidden snap at the back waist. Each cuff has a hidden snap to close. The belt is attached all the way around and has four pink rhinestone encrusted crosses that hold it in place as well. I see three missing stones in total between all four of these. Because of the placement of these it does not detract. There is also a tear on the front skirt about knee height - it gets lost in the folds but is there so is now a treasure piece

This was a part of the spring 2008 collection but not shown on the runway. It is a stunning and sexy fitted dress in an off-white. The skirt is slim cut and very fitted. It is cut to sit high up on the waist with the bodice set above this. The bodice is made of silk chiffon that has been tucked, gathered and puckered by hand in order to create a beautiful contrast to the skirt. A simple grosgrain ribbon wraps and ties at the waist. I love the delicate ruffle that runs around the top and has a slightly raw feel to it. Stunning. Excellent condition
Note that it was too tiny to close on the mannequin but does properly close - this also affected the fit at the front a bit - on a real girl it will fit tight the torso. The inner bodice has a full built in corset that is cupped, boned and closes with a hook & eye. This is all hand set. Behind this the dress is fully lined in silk. It closes on the exterior with a hidden set zipper. Tagged a 40/XS

What a glorious 1940s swing dress! These are getting harder and harder to find and to find a jewel like this one is just wonderful and on top of that it is by the talented Jo Copeland for Pattulo! The fabric is a printed silk crepe that drapes wonderfully when on. It has that touch of thirties influence still with a slightly wider cut through the bodice and looser drape and pleating which makes it very flattering. The skirt is long and lean with a bit of volume as it nears the hem for that perfect swing cut. Really beautiful and very well done. The printed design is spectacular it is a bright watercolor scenic print in vibrant colors. Over the shoulders is a draped panel that has been highlighted with hand sewn sequins. Each shoulder has light padding and this and the caped fabric panel create a beautiful silhouette. I love how the belt slips through that little loop at the waist and that loop is also decorated with sequins. This dress is everything you want in a 1940s piece and is a real jaw dropper. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper. The belt is original to the dress.

Quintessential YSL day wear, this dress has all the elements that YSL was famous for. I love the dots - they are that perfect red screened onto a white silk crepe base. The skirt is cut to skim the hips and hug your the lower waist in flat set seamed pleats, before those pleats open to give the skirt just a touch of volume. The bodice is also cut to skim and sit loosely over the bodice with shoulders that are gathered along the seams for a touch of the forties. Each sleeve puffs slightly above the wrist and cuff. The neckline is plunges quite low and it topped by wide attached ties at the neckline which you can then style as you wish. As an extra treat, the original leather two tone belt is present and you can use this to cinch and define the waist even further! It is beautiful and highly collectible. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a side painted metal zipper. Each cuff has a button to close. It has its original leather belt that is also in excellent condition. The belt will fit a 25" - 28.5" waist.

What a beautiful Pucci dress done in one of his signature bright, citrus mixes colors and using one of his iconic angled prints screened onto a scarf weight silk. The bodice skims over the bust to the border trimmed, high waist line. Another border accents the V neck. This then tops a sleek and simple skirt and the sleeve, which are cut somewhat wide finish. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it not being super form fitting. I love the band at the high waist that gives it a bit of visual definition but still keeps the easy to wear cut. That band also runs down the back of the dress. The colors all pop against each other beautifully. The entire dress weighs ounces. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a back hidden, painted metal zipper. There are a couple of very small storage spots on the back - one near the zipper and two near the seam of one shoulder. There is also a very very very discoloration under the waist on the front (super-size provided photo). I don't feel these detract at all but have taken that into account when pricing.

Super cute navy blue Miu Miu dress that has been completely covered in rows of green rhinestones! The rhinestones add an amazing glimmer to the other wise simple dress that really gives it pop. The cut is simple with to the elbow sleeve and a fairly shift shape with a seam defining the waist but cut with a bit of fullness through that area, The back is laced with a corset type finish so if left ties loosely it shows a hint of skin. The fabric is a soft sueded feel cotton so super comfortable to wear. Excellent condition

Pauline Trigere's 1971 collection was nature -centric and featured turtle prints and other elements if that ilk. For this dress she used the clover as the base of the print and then blew it up so that it becomes an almost stylized element on its own. On the top half it is screened onto a silk chiffon and on the bottom a silk of a more standard weight. Incredibly, all around the waist the silk clovers that circle the waist area were actually cut out and then attached by hand to the silk chiffon bodice! As you examine the dress in closer detail you realize just how much time and effort would have been put into this piece! The neck line is high with a scarf like finish. The bodice is cut to skin over the bodice and the waist left slightly full with just partial seams to suggest shape. The skirt is surprisingly full and the silk used drapes beautifully. The sleeves are of course the show stopper - each trails ot meet the hem of the dress and are left open just after the elbow. They are beautiful and dramatic! Excellent condition.

Super cute Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers piece that can be used as a chic beach cover up or as a lingerie piece as it was originally meant or even a mini or tunic. The colors are a mix of blues and turquoises and edged with a pop of white in one of his signature geometric patterns. It is made of a lingerie weight nylon that weighs mere ounces. The fabric is signed throughout. Love the tunic shape as it is very easy to wear. Excellent condition.

A truly stunning set from the legendary Emilio Pucci that is so chic and versatile. Both pieces are simple in cut but big on drama with that gorgeous Pucci print on the black base color. The colors are as brilliant as they were the day this was made and the print makes it instantly recognizable as being a Pucci. The print is a mix of vivid greens and pinks, all edged in fine black and the fabric is signed throughout with that famous Pucci signature. The skirt is a soft cut A-line with wide soft pleats for volume when you move, but the choice of the silk jersey gives it a chic, sleek drape when you are standing still. The top is a simply cut with a long lean sleeves and a V neckline. His signature print border adorns the edges of the neck, hem and cuffs. A panel of detailed border also runs down the back as both a design detail and also serves to cover the zipper at the back. With it being a skirt and top rather then a dress it makes it really easy to mix and match and work into your wardrobe for all four seasons. Excellent condition.
The top is unlined and closes with a back zipper and fabric covers snaps that close the border fabric over the zipper to hide. The skirt is also unlined and it closes with side zipper and hidden snaps, hook & eye on the waistband.

What a fabulous 1970s Leonard caftan feel maxi dress that has been done in the most gorgeous palette of bright pop of color on a black silk jersey backdrop. I love the loose cut through the skirt and body that flows to the ground and gives it that loose and easy feel. It has elastic through the waist so you do get a suggestion of shape and then it also has its original belt that you can use to cinch in the waist if you prefer more definition. The sleeves are incredible and are cut wide and full giving the dress a beautiful airy feel. Each is extremely full and billow out until they narrow in at each elastic wrist cuff. The entire edge of the upper bodice is elastic so you can war it as a soft scoop or completely off the shoulders to make it a little more sexy. Excellent condition.

The Tiktiner label was founded by Dina Tiktiner Viterbo in France in 1949 and the company eventually honed their aesthetic to suit the needs of the jet set that spent most of their time on the beaches and night scene of the Cote d'Azur. Their pieces were high quality and were dedicated to the the life style of the girl who needed to throw pieces into a suit case and then pull them out without a lot of pressing. Plus they needed to be versatile so many of the pieces serve double or triple duty with a quick change of a shoe or bag. This is a lovely dress that really shows this life style influence. Made of a light weight black jersey fabric that has been screened with a fabulous abstract design. The top is fitted and lean with skinny sleeve and a pretty draped neckline. Attached ties sit at the waist and allow you to cinch it in as much as you wish. The skirt is swingy and fun with a bit of volume. Excellent condition.

In 2002, a mere 2 years before he dies, Stephen Sprouse did a fabulous collboration with Target and produced a line composed entirely of red white and blue pieces. Based on his graffiti print from earlier decades this dress has "Sprouse" boldly printed across it. Its made of cotton so very easy to wear and cut in a classic little mod sixties cut with an A-line skirt. A fun circle is cut out at the midriff. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This amazing two piece set consists of a loose fitting pheasant style top and a fuller skirt. Both pieces are made of a crisp cotton that has been printed with one of Yves signature vibrant and bright prints. The top is cut smock style with a squared off neckline. You can wear it loose and peasant style or it will blouse when tucked. The sleeves are short but very very wide and there is an attached tie at the neckline. The skirt is stunning with an easy to wear elastic waist and a fabulous fullness to it. Part of that fullness is because of the wide pleat work that circles the skirt and is so subtle and executed so perfectly that you really notice it upon close inspection only. The fabric choice helps it to retain that fullness too!. Being two piece it is very versatile and you will be able to wear these together or separate. Excellent, appears unworn condition

An amazing fine wool stretch jersey gown by Oscar De la Renta that skims over the body and is not meant to be skin tight, yet manages to emphasize every curve. It is long and lean in all the right ways. It is constructed in a long flowing drape of fabric that is all cut on the bias so the gown will move to fit your curves. The bodice is sleeveless and on the front there is a overlay that follows the cut of the top portion to the waist and then extends into ties which you then wrap and use to cinch in the waist as much as you want to create shape. The skirt is cut so it falls in a long, chic column and it is simple and striking at the same time. The back is cut longer then the front so it creates a fabulous train effect. A subtle key hole that extend from the back neck to just above the waist is the perfect finishing detail. This is the dress for when you want to look and feel a mile tall and supermodel skinny!! Really one of my favorites pieces. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

The bodice is backed in the same fabric as the exterior and the skirt is lined in a white tissue silk. It closes with hidden set back zipper. There is the slightest of yellowing to the white parts of the fabric under one arm and at the very edge of the neck and some scruffiness along the hem. None of this detracts and I am being very picky. Hooks and snaps to close at the back of the neck

In the nineties Valentino did a few seasons where he focused heavily on a definitive lingerie look - adding elements that took boudoir wear out into evening wear. This little shift is a beautiful example of that. Made of a beautiful moire silk taffeta in a deep olive the simple shaped dress is feminine and flattering. The olive is a wonderful alternative to black. Black dotted lace is set as inset on either side of the leg and this adds both a romantic and sexy touch. It is very well made and the inside is beautifully finished. Flat bows sit at the base of each strap and this again emphasizes its lingerie feel. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Absolutely stunning silk net full length dress by Mollie Parnis, who one of my favorite American designers! The dress is from her companies high end, demi-couture line and it shows. The dress is a fantastical confection of and almost weightless netting that has a green undertone to it mixed with gold. Over this netting thousands of tiny gold sequins have been sewn into place so the entire dress gleams in the light. In addition the lower half of each sleeve and the hem is finished with a vertical netting that is sewn so that you get the idea of stripes but it is all net and weightless. It is truly a gown that appears to float on the wearer and is quite magical! The waist is defined by a banding that is covered in sequins set more densely to give it some contrast and those spectacular sleeves are left unlined. You will feel like a princess in this one! Excellent condition.
The bodice is lined in a sheer nude netting and the skirt in a nude silk. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. There is a small area on one hip where the sequins are rubbed off. It is really not noticeable and in no way detracts at all when on but I did mark the price down quite a bit. It would be easy to out some matching sequins on if this bothered you.
Note that in person it is a more muted gold with a slight undertone of a green.

This little silk shift dress was designed by Rudi Gernreich and is very representative of the 60s in its cut. It is that classic little above the knee shift dress that you can wear loose with an almost bubble shape to it through the midriff or cinch it in with the original fabric belt. The silk is a very high grade and the exterior that perfect shade of olive green. The interior is also silk and the color used there is a bright turquoise with is a fabulous contrast to the olive and like a lovely little secret only the wearer knows about. Very simple but very chic. Excellent condition.

Made from an amazing printed stretch silk crepe that is cut on the bias so has a touch of stretch to it, this dress is one of the best 1940s dresses I have seen. It is tagged as a "registered Gloria dress" but though I have seen this label before I cannot not find any firm information on it. It is a beauty though so this company was definitely doing high end work. It was also definitely stored properly for all these years ,as the colors are as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made. The base is a deep navy blue and then onto this is are beautiful floral bouquets made of little rounded cornered squares of multiple colors that just pop off the blue base! The cut is fitted with a high but V neck and extensive pleating along each shoulder and again just above the waist. The waist nips in and is accented even more with an attached panel of fabric that turns into two extremely ling ties that you can wrap and accentuate the waist even more wit. The skirt is cut straight with just a touch of extra fabric worked through the bottom of the vertical seaming so you can move with ease. It truly is a forties femme fatale dress under its floral exterior! Excellent condition.

An absolutely gorgeous Pucci dress that is so comfortable and cosy to wear because it is made of soft, lightweight cashmere and silk mix fabric. It has a custom screened design that features one of his iconic angled prints. Skinny sleeves and a bodice that skims over the bust and drops into a low slung waist that then tops a sleek and simple skirt. This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it not being super form fitting. I love the band at the waist that gives it a bit of visual definition but still keeps the easy to wear cut. That band expands down the back of the dress and also is picked up at the collar, cuffs and hem. The colors all pop against each other beautifully. The entire dress weighs ounces and is really on par with those super high end t-shirt fabric of today. Excellent, museum quality condition.

Style.com said of this collection: "A few of her favorite things. That summed up a Resort collection that was an amalgam of Miuccia Prada's perennial motifs. Active sport was represented by bike shorts and Windbreakers worn as evening toppers. A leopard print's roar was balanced by a twee heart motif. And almost every piece—from bikini tops to ladylike dresses with pleated gores—was encrusted with maharaja-meets-la dolce vita-style jewels. As a result, what the collection lacked in scope it made up for in the sort of sheer dazzle that Prada is so adept at providing"
This dress, which was look 23 on the runway that season, is the kind of piece that makes instant and long lasting fans of the Prada label. It is an amazing piece in every way. The cut is a simple shift that gently widens as it nears the hem with a scooped neckline and capped shoulders. It skims over the body and what it lacks in being form fitting it more then makes up for with its hint of exposure due to the chain links that hold the top and bottom pieces together! A second ring of plastic chain circles the hem as well. The fabric is custom and a stunning example and it is a gorgeous with the suggestion of a leopard sprawled across its front on a dusky olive backdrop. This dress appears to have never been worn and it's original retail was around the $2,500 mark. Excellent condition.
The dress is fully lined in a olive silky rayon and closes with a hidden set back zipper. Has the quality of finishes that one would expect from Prada. There is a small spot near the seam on one shoulder. Tagged a Prada 40

This Mignon gown reminds me of the Travilla pieces styled for Marilyn Monroe - it has that same type of feel! The skirt is extraordinary - it is knife pleated from top to bottom so there is a fabulous play on the lame thread that is woven through the fabric. As you move the light catches the thread in different ways and the effect is extraordinary. The top is a simple halter that hook up and around the neck, leaving the back entirely bare. Despite the base fabric being the same they have given it a completely different feel but adding both gold sequins and bead work all across the top and in a different pattern through the band that nips in the waist. The over all effect is so sexy!A definitive showstopper. Excellent condition.
Lined in a red silky rayon through the top and unlined through the skirt. Closes with a back painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the neck

This is a sexy, yet romantic gown and capelet set by Alfred Bosand that i just find to be divine. Made from a a beautiful and fine silk jersey of a pale cafe au lait color that has been screened with stunning red flowers on green vines. It has a sexy Grecian goddess feel to it with a plunging halter front and no back at all. The skirt cascades from the nipped in waist to the floor in a sleek column of silk that is not too full nor too slim. A matching capelet made of the same patterned silk fastens around the neck and is the perfect feminine finish. A really lovely and pretty set that is also very well made with hand finishes. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a nude silk through the bodice and a nude silk crepe through the skirt. The cape is unlined and has hook & eye at the neck. The dress closes with a back painted metal zipper. Hand finishes. Some very small and minor spots near hem here and there but nothing major or that detracts. Note the base color is slightly more of a creamy cafe au lait tone then photoed.

This gown is so spectacular and so striking - it is really an amazing piece. I can date it exactly as it seems to have been deaccessioned from the F.I.T. Museum and still has its original museum tag with the date and donor - a Mrs. Mortimer Solomon, who after a bit of research seems to have been a fabulous Palm Beach resident who was an avid client of Adolfo and who donated many pieces to both FIT and The Met. The gown is a silk taffeta with a bold spot print. The skirting is a red giraffe feel print on white with black edging. The bodice has a softer lack and white print. It is strapless and the bodice feels like ti was literally wrapped around the wearer and tied with that large bow at the front. The skirt is set just under the bust and gently widens to a beautiful Aline silhouette with a slight feel of fullness that the fabric choice assists with. It is very light and airy feeling when on but has a strong boned foundation. The tag is numbered but whether that was done at the atelier or at a later date is unknown. It is a true beauty! Excellent condition.
Fully lined on off white tissue silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note there are two small storage spots that, because of the print really are not noticeable. One is barely visible on the bow just above the knot - super size the photo and you will still be hard pressed to find it and the other on the skirt and I have shown it.

Gianni loved Miami and in 1992 bought a house there. I believe this dress to have been produced somewhere in and around that time period when he would have been full on obsessed with his new city. It is a simple soft stretch cotton T short dress cut tank style with a scooped neck. The fabric is meant to stretch and hug your every curve so it is very sexy on. The print is fabulous and pure Gianni. It captures his view of Miami perfectly from the mirrored sunglasses on the front to the tropical fruits, suggestions of the vivid sunsets that splay across its entirety, to the supermodels that cavort across the back. Its insanely good and best of all - it still has its original Versace tag attached to the zipper pull. For the Versace collector this is heaven! Excellent condition

Such a sexy outfit and yet because of the colors still manages to feel fresh and girlie. The dress is made of a fine silk jersey that has those amazing tropical colors screened onto it in a overlapping leaf print. It is strapless and insanely short and the fabric is gathered along each side to create a soft ruched feel. The top and bottom hem are anchored by a flat hem with a matching print. And in the back, panels of fabric that are attached along each hip tie to create shape. It has its original super short cropped "jacket" that ties in the front to balance out the back tie. The fabric is also signed throughout. So perfect! Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a pale nude colored tissue silk and it closes with a side zipper. The jacket is unlined and ties to close.

This is a beautiful and classic 1950s Ceil Chapman constructed from a wonderful, light metallic brocade - an unusual fabric choice for Chapman but one that works spectacularly. Chapman is renowned for being one of Marlyn Monroe's favorite designers and it is easy to see why - this dress is cut to highlight every curve and give you some if you need them. The dress really showcases Chapman's attention to detail and love of gathering and stitching the fabric. The skirt is fitted over the hips and then cut in a slight A-line . The waist is not defined by a vertical seam, rather it is shaped to nip in and then swoops up into the twisted knot of fabric that is hand draped just under the bust in a soft and sexy detail. This draws the eye up and gives the illusion of being even more lean and long then you are. More hand placed and stitched soft pleats along from the shoulder and around the bust. The cut combined with the divine fabric are just jaw dropping. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a white silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Piping at the back waist only to give you curves there as well. Light boning through the sides. Far more metallic in person - so good!

This dress is just divine. Really one of the best cocktail dresses from this period I have had. The workmanship is very fine and it is surprisingly light weight - it is made of a fine, fine metallic lace and lined in nothing but a nude colored silk so it feels like air once on. The lace that makes up the exterior is beautiful - it is a fine chocolate colored lace, whose threads have been treated or coated with an iridescent metallic sheen that in the light goes from a deep copper hue to one that almost has a pink undertone to it. It is fitted to perfection. The bodice skims over you with the neckline and capped sleeves left with the lace edging. The waist is seam for shape and then skirt skims over the hips and it ends well above the knee but not so much as to take away its feeling of being high end. It is really an amazing dress and a testament to Beene's genius. Excellent condition.

Andre Courreges did such amazing work and this little two piece set is just fabulous. These would have been sold as mix and match but I acquired them as a set and think they deserve to stay that way. Plus it's an added bonus for the lucky girl who becomes the new owner as you can easily work these into your wardrobe as separates. This is the original label and both pieces have that instantly recognizable Courreges logo - it's at the neck of the sweater and adorns a pocket on the skirt. The skirt snaps down the front and completely opens - a signature of his. Love the two pockets that sit on each hip and the A-line cut. The pink linen feel fabric is balanced by the white top and captured at the sweaters neck with the pink collar. The sweater is a skinny ribbed knit and cut to hug every curve. The skirt is actually numbered so from his Couture line and the sweater RTW. Both pieces are on excellent condition
The skirt is fully lined in a white silky rayon and snaps to close. It is tagged a vintage Courreges 0. The top slips on and is a vintage Courreges B. The top has lots of stretch if needed.

This divine gown from Oscar de la Renta is made of a deep bottle green silk chiffon and has a decidedly Grecian goddess feel to it. The fine, scarf weight silk gown skims over the body and drapes and flows beautifully around the wearer. It is constructed with a draped and gathered front panel that sits atop the bodice just at the edge and the fabric flows out to the floor from there. A second panel is attached so that is drapes dramatically over one shoulder cascading to the floor in an almost train like fashion. It is all cut on the bias so the gown really has the most spectacular movement. I love how it is cut supermodel length and the bias cut allows the silk to just flow and waft around you in the most beautiful way. It is simple and classic but has a high impact feel at the same time. This is the dress for when you want to look and feel a mile tall and supermodel skinny!! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Four full layers of fine, silk chiffon were used in the construction of the gown and it closes with a hidden back set zipper. Has a inner lightly boned silk bodice with a waist stay. Tagged a 6 but please go by actual measurements.
Note that at least 1-2" could be gained through the waist by removing or expanding the inner waist stay if you needed it. Hand finishes

This Miss V labeled gown from Valentino has a strong nod to the great bias cut pieces of the past but it was done in a stretch jersey with a touch of ribbing to give it that feel of mixing glamour and utilitarian sportswear. It is very Grecian goddess and very sexy. The skirt widens slightly as it falls to the floor and has a sexy side slit. The bodice is gorgeous with a twisted knot front. I love how the fabric knot sits just under the collarbones and exposes the shoulders. Deceptively simple off the hanger and yet very sexy on a real girl! Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear with no closures. All the measurements have a touch of stretch above the highest listed measurement due to the fabric. These are the measurements with it stretched comfortably lying flat.

An absolutely gorgeous Pucci dress with a sublime and chic color palette in soft caramels and cafe au lait mixed with chocolates! Made of his signature lightweight silk jersey, it has a custom screened design that features a print that almost has an exotic skin feel to is. Sleeves that widen as they near the cuff and a bodice that skims over the bust and drops into a sexy plunge tops a sleek and simple skirt, This is a classic Pucci silhouette that is instantly recognizable and very sexy despite it covering you from head to toe. I love the contrasting bands at at the collar, cuffs and hem. The print and subtle colors all work with each other beautifully and this is a piece that will never go out of style or seem anything but appropriate no matter if worn for day or evening. The entire dress weighs ounces and is a perfect example of what the best Pucci's are all about! Excellent, museum quality condition.

I Have a Question
The Mac Tac label was produced by a parent company called Leonard Sunshine and in terms of print and quality it is right up there with Leonard or Pucci pieces in my book. This version is lovely with its soft base color and gorgeous floral print. It is made from a fluid nylon jersey that drapes and moves fabulously. The neckline has a deep and sexy plunge front and the waist is defined by the band and attached ties. Each sleeve balloons above the cinched wrist and has lots of fullness. The skirt sweeps to the floor and widens as it nears the hem. I love how the floral print is used to highlight the design of the dress. A scattering of flowers sweeps across the back and just off to the side of the back hem. At the front a large design anchors the skirt at the front as it trails up towards the waist. This is classic 1970s at its best. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on. Has an attached tie at the waist to cinch it in as much as you need. The fabric has some stretch. Tagged a vintage 38

This silvered lavender brocade party dress from Suzy Perette is sublime. It's a true 50s masterpiece and a lovely lovely dress! The soft purple flowers that cover the dress are woven into the fabric and the contrast of threads and colors used seems to make them pop off the background. Really beautiful. The bodice is simple with a scooped neckline that has a pretty notch detail created by the way the sleeves are set in. The waist nips in and there are attached ties to cinch it in further. The skirt is full and has additional under-skirting to give it the fullness that you see. You could add a crinoline and make this ever more of an exaggeration if you wished. It is a lovely piece that really present wonderfully!
Fully lined with a white silky rayon and the skirt has a extra layer of tulle built in for fullness. Closes with a back painted metal zipper. There is a small repaired area under one arm that was well done and stable. It does not show when on but the dress has been priced accordingly. (Note that the photo of the repair was taken with a different camera - the color in the other photos are the more accurate color of the dress)

A wonderful and vibrant dress by Leonard. Leonard Paris is a label that was a contemporary of Pucci and very sought after. This one is a delicious combination of vivid turquoise on inky black backdrop with pops of silvered grey and white. It is cut to skim over the body and fall softly over the hips with a contrasting band of printed fabric to give you the idea of a defined waist. I love the soft draped neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs and hem to pick up on the waist. It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut is very flattering. The dress is a strong statement piece and still so very chic now. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This is a fabulous, early 1980s example of Courreges that has all the feel and mod appeal of an earlier piece! It is in excellent, condition and really a great piece with lots of appeal. It is cut in a classic shift with lots of great seaming details to instantly identify it as a Courreges. It has those classic half cap sleeves and the seams are emphasized. Love how they are set on an angle at the chest and meets the notched neckline - a familiar detail that Courreges was famous for. The skirt widens as it nears the hem and great little slit pockets, detailed with a fabric strip sit on either side of the hip to give it a true sixties feel. Excellent condition

This is a great seventies piece with lots of great detailing. The fabric is a washable poly jersey which makes it easy to travel with and very comfortable to wear (and dance in). The skirt is swingy and sexy and is set just a touch high into the waist. The bodice has an amazing draped and gathered effect. In addition is is cut wide and low so you get a hint of collar bone showing when you wear it. Each sleeve is cut full above its elastic gathered wrist for a wonderful ballooned affect. I love the graphic feel of this little black strapless dress from Geoffrey Beene with its two saucy cream felt details on the bust. The body is a slim column of black silk wool crepe and the fabric has a slight bit of texture to it so as you get closer it gets more visually interesting. On the exterior it seems like a simple sheath but inside there is a full built in bustier of silk and boning that gives you a very structured feel as you wear it. The two little stripes on the bust mimic pocket tops but are actually inset fabric detailing. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition.
The inner corset is made of silk and is boned. The rest of the dress is not lined but has ribbon edged seams. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and the inner corset has its own separate zipper.

Similar to the silk version I have had of this dress, this sleek black jersey dress is the epitome of chic. The finish is incredible and it is very well tailored, beautifully constructed and the jersey it is constructed from lends itself perfectly to the draping required in those incredible sleeves. Every line is a study in thought and detailing. The neck is high and the bodice cut to skim over the torso. The sleeves are full and balloon to to a four button cuff. It is a testament to the detail during this time period that each button hole on the cuff is properly finished. The waist is cut somewhat loose but it has its original belt that nips in the waist and gives the illusion of the tiniest possible waist. The skirt has an immense amount of fabric and yet it sits perfectly without adding bulk. Really a fabulous Norell day piece. Very chic, very rare and in excellent condition.
Constructed of a fine black jersey and closes a back painted metal zipper. Each cuff closes with four buttons. The belt is stamped Norman Norell on the back.

I love these sequin pieces from the 1970s and they way they glimmer with a life of their own when on. By laying each sequin flat and side by side it allows the light to catch the fabric in the most wonderful of ways. The skirt is cut in a generous A-line so you get lots of drape and movement. It flows up to the the bodice with a nipped in waist but no seam there to break the eye. The neckline is halter style leaving the back dramatically bare. So sexy. It comes with its original jacket and this is cut slim and long with two chic pocjets on each hip. The color of both pieces is a deep navy. A real beauty and in excellent, looks to have been unworn, condition!
The dress is fully lined in deep navy stretch jersey and the jacket in blue silk. It closes with a low back painted zipper and the halter hooks around the neck with hook & eye. All sequins appear to be present

This is a fabulous 1970s Leonard caftan feel maxi dress in the most gorgeous palette of bright blue flowers on a black silk jersey backdrop. I love the loose cut through the skirt and body that flows to the ground and gives it that loose and easy feel. It also has its original belt that you can use to cinch in the waist if you prefer more shape. The silk chiffon on the sleeves gives it a beautiful airy feel and each sleeve is extremely full, billowing poufs of chiffon until they narrow in at each elastic wrist cuff. The entire edge of the upper bodice is elastic so you can war it as a soft scoop or completely off the shoulders to make it a little more sexy. It also has a matching scarf that I have styled here as a head scarf for a little extra glamor! Excellent condition.

Sequins have rapidly gone from evening only to be worn almost anytime of the day - something that seems a new trend but Halston was championing this in the mid and late 1970s and who can argue with one of the greatest American designers? And to showcase just how special this dress is a twin of it is currently on display at the Halston and Warhol: Silver and Suede Exhibit (picture form the exhibit on the left). Halston had the fabric for these hand made in India and it is a combination of a fine silk chiffon densely covered in iridescent cream sequins mixed with pink sequins. Through the sequins are curving panels of faux pearls densely packed together to form organix swatchs of movement across the dress. That effect once on and you move is just amazing. It slips on and falls into place in a somple sheath. The cut and construction are what one would expect from one of the most eminent American designers. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a pale nude tissue silk. It slips on to wear. There is perhaps some small areas of missing sequins but they can easily be replaced by stealing some from under the hems. It presents as perfect due to the thousands on the fabric and iridescent quality.

If you have been looking for that insane, over the top statement dress - this just might be it. It is made of his signature printed silk in a strong bright combination of purple with multi-colour dots of color scattered over it. The shoulders are strong and made even more so with padding and seaming that highlights them. Below the shoulder the bodice is loose fitting and the sleeves set wide into the sides and then they narrow into slim, zipped cuffs. The waist cinches in and the original belt made of a matching fabric is present to accentuate it even further. The skirt is cut to be short and fitted - its that perfect eighties silhouette that still works now. Excellent, appears unworn, condition.

What a gorgeous maxi dress from Hanae Mori that is very striking with those extravagant sleeve! The base color is a delicious shade of pale purple with soft pastel flowers worked into the print - so flattering on almost any skin tone. The floral print is screened onto a chiffon fabric that has tiny stripes of gold thread running through it in vertical lines. This gives the dress a subtle glimmer that is very pretty.! It is cut with an elastic through the waist - so it is very easy and comfortable to wear. I can imagine this with sandals for day and then a stacked heel at night. You could also belt it for extra shape through the waist as it is cut quite loose and easy. The bodice is cut simply with a unadorned scooped collar. It is those sleeves that create all the visual interest - three tiers of ruffles adorn each and create a dramatic silhouette. Excellent condition.
The dress is fully lined in a dyed to match lavender silk and slips on to wear with a tie at the back of the neck above a keyhole.

This is an amazing combination of that 1950s aesthetic that Suzy Perette was known for and the more modern eye that Victor Costa brought to the table when he designed for the company from 1965-1973. It is made of that perfect fine 60s wool jersey that is not so light that it can't hold a shape, nor too heavy that it feel cumbersome to wear. The cut is just fabulous. Very minimalist and chic. It is sleeveless with a simple bodice that has vertical seams to form the shape of the bust. Note how those seams perfectly line up under the waist seam with the darts in the skirt. The waist nips in and it has its original belt to cinch it on for shape. The skirt is fantastic - lots of volume and I love the two huge pockets that sit on each hip. So chic! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and the hem's seam is ribbon edged. Closes with a fine back metal zipper. The belt is in excellent shape as well.

Very chic and easy to wear dress with a definitive caftan influence despite its shorter cut. The fabric is absolutely lovely - it is a black silk chiffon with a gold stripe running through it. What is remarkable it that the entire upper portion of the dress has been formed into vertical, flat knife pleats and this is done so that each pleat's edge falls exactly along the edge of the striping. It is all so perfectly lined up that you don't even really notice this until it is on your hands and you realize that is how it is constructed. Just below the waist they release and that is how the fuller lower portion of the dress is created. The sleeves are left just above the wrist and they are cut wide and straight. It is very light weight as it is i lined in a very fine silk chiffon and a dream to wear. Excellent condition.
Fully lined with a nude chiffon through the upper bodice and a black chiffon through the skirt. The sleeves are left unlined. It closes with a button at the back of the neck and then there is an open slit to just above the waist with three more buttons set there.

A fine opaque silk gazaar cocktail dress by Bill Blass that demonstrates just why he was the favored designer by the kind of lady that threw a cocktail party on a regular basis. It is just spectacular in every way! The skirt is very full and poufed with the volume you see pictures achieved solely through the cut of the cloth and the way it is set into the waist combined with the way the fabric having enough body to hold the shape. The waist nips in and the bodice is sculpted with a dramatic cut out at the neck that reveals the upper bodice and collar bone. I love the way the neckline almost acts like a piece of jewelery in the way that is frames the shoulders and face. If you have been looking for the absolute perfect black cocktail dress look no farther! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
The bodice is lined in the same fabric as the exterior and the skirt has an inner black silk lining. Closes with a back hidden set zipper. Very well made.
