Jean Louis is designer who created that dress that Marilyn Monroe was said to have had to have been sewn into when she sang Happy Birthday to JFK. You can't get much more iconic a pedigree then that. Jean worked in the movies before starting his own label and it is easy to see that sense of Hollywood in this dress. It is simple but still has that pretty cut that will flatter a girl and make her feel pretty. The off shoulder cut is the perfect way to show a little skin but still have a pretty feel. The fabric used is a feather light black net that has little black and white oval dots woven into the net. This sets over a deep nude silk interior for a very pretty effect. The shoulders have a wonderful ruffle that runs around then and over the more fitted bodice underneath. The waist nips in and then the skirt falls in a wonderful full flowing column of net that has a soft movement to it. The net gives it a real soft and light feel that is really quite gorgeous. Excellent condition.

Fully lined under the nude interior dress in a white tissue silk. It closes with a hand set, back painted metal zipper and has a waist stay that closes with flat hook & eye. Each shoulder has a slight bit of elastic on the outer edges worked through the seam so it will sit just perfectly.

This fabulous little dress is a gorgeous combination of colors and the cut is very sexy. It also has the added bonus of having that magic little number on its label though in this case I think it defines it as a demi-couture or special order dress as I do see machine work on some of the inner seams. It is short and fitted and I love the two colors together - a brilliant emerald green with an equally brilliant royal blue. The blue is only used for the inner skirt that only shows at the back so you get this unexpected shock of color when you turn around. The bodice is fitted and tight to the body and the skirt fitted as well. Over the front is a wide panel of fabric and they way it sits gives the suggestion of a wide full skirt but this is only an illusion. The finish at the back is gorgeous - a tightly spaced row of glossy black faceted buttons. It's stunning and I love the slightly different textures of the two silks used that contrasts the two colors even more. Excellent condition

The bodice is finished in the same fabric as the exterior green and the skirt unlined. Light boning through the bodice and closes with the buttons down the back as shown. Tagged a 40 but please check actual measurements listed.

The Lucie Ann label was mainly lingerie but in the 60s and 70s diversified into a few clothing pieces here and there. You don' see them as often but when you do they are usually pretty great. They have this campy, sexy starlet feel to them and this little jumpsuit is a perfect example of just that. It is a bit of a rarity and quite fabulous and just plain fun - I was pretty excited to find it! It is made of an emerald green crepe and is shaped and sculpted to follow the curves of the body. In some ways it has a really simple cut with a V neck front, cinched wait and skinny pants legs. However, it also has the most insane ruffled finishes that take it straight over the top and make it one of those pieces you only luck into in the vintage world. It has ruffled cuffs and a ruffled front that runs down the front of each leg from the waist, wraps around the cuff and then back up the calf to end in a bow. The effect is just crazy but fabulous. Presents as excellent condition with a couple of small items to note below.

Fully lined in green tissue silk and closes at the back with a painted metal zipper. There is a small area of darkening to the fabric just above the bow at the back of one leg and there is an area of darkening (slight) across the top of each shoulder. Its very wearable as is and priced accordingly.

A loose and easy caftan cut dress is always an amazing vintage staple but to find one by the Yuki brand is a treat. It is such a rare label and I love his work. This piece shows his love of minimal seaming and has just two seams down each side and then that wonderful halter neck detail. The neckline brings the dress up and into a point and then wraps around the neck to leave the collarbones bare. I love that you can also "cheat" it and hook the halter off to the side and create a more one shoulder feel and it still works. From that defined neck it falls to the floor in a wide expanse of jersey - opening quite full and yet still falling wonderfully. The washable jersey is screened with an oversized digital and floral print that feel very modern and like wearing art on the body. It is shockingly sexy despite its full, full cut because of the way the fabric moves when you do. It is just gorgeous and a real find. Excellent condition

Unlined and slips on to wear with one strap closing with hook and eye and on one side with more hook & eye. The cut will allow it to fit a large range of sizes as it will just drape more on a smaller figure. Made of a washable polyester knit jersey.

This is an amazing and rare Pucci sequin and beaded piece that is not perfect but still very wearable and is a real coup for the collector regardless. I believe it is also an earlier piece and shows that contrast between the time when he really started to use pattern head to toe and slightly before that when more solid pieces were worked in. Based on the print and style I believe this to be from the 1962-64 time period (more on that below). It is two pieces - a wrap pink silk full length skirt and a densely sequined and crystal encrusted top that has a magnificent scalloped edge that follows the print. The colors are classic Pucci - soft pale pinks combined with lavender and pops of a stronger pink, yellow and creams. The skirt is one solid color and long with an A-line cut and wrapped over closure. It is flawed and included almost a a "freebie" and to keep the set original and intact. The shell top is amazing and this is really what you are paying for here. It is encrusted with dense hand applied sequins in colors that correspond to the pattern underneath. Intersperse among those are colored glass crystals - each hand set in prongs. It is a work of art. The top is in very good condition but please read all condition notes below.

This is a true treasure. Very few of these sequin & crystal encrusted pieces were made - it seems that he did a small collection of them once a decade up to the 80s and beginning in the early 60s. Most that still exist reside in Musuem's or private collections, of which this has come out of. It is an extraordinary piece of Italian Couture.

The first thing to address in this is that I believe the black Pucci label in the top is a later add on. It is sewn in at an odd angle and I think it was added by someone in order to "add value". The lining in the top itself is signed as is the fabric and I am sure that the time period is earlier bu this is a later label. I have left it as found but wanted to make this very clear. The skirt came with the top and I believe it and its label give the better clue on the time period this is from. The skirt is included as a "freebie" it has issues. The hook and eye are missing at the waist. I see slight discoloration here and there, over-pressing to the seams and some small staining. The top is in very good condition with a few missing sequins and crystals and loose threads. Even with these few missing beads its incredible and a true find. Pricing is based on it alone. It is fully lined and closes at the top of each shoulder with hidden snaps. The color in person is a bit more of a true baby pink

I love this dress. It is so unusual and so pretty and looks fabulous on. The fabric used for it is a jersey knit that has a fabulous scenic design screened onto the fabric from top to bottom. The colors are a mix of pretty pastel tones and it has that great Lanvin whimsical feel of this time period. The jersey used is washable and virtually wrinkle free so it is a great traveling piece. It is cut to skim over the body loosely so is an easy dress to wear. The neckline is cut into a V and edged in a deep blue ribbon and at the base of the V that ribbon extends down very ling - this allows you to tie sit at the front or to use it as a secondary halter for a pretty effect around the neck. The back is cut high and flat across. From the bust down the dress flows out on an Aline with no defined waist. Super cute. Excellent condition

Leger worked for Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi and followed him to Chanel in 1983 when Lagerfeld took over there. In 1985 Leger began designing under his own name, but it was not until 1993 that the actual Herve Leger label appeared on the scene and history was made. His dresses were on of the stars of the nineties and were among the most coveted and iconic of the labels during that period of fashion. His bandage dress in particular were coveted by every girl everywhere and his strong lines and sensual designs were seen on everyone and appeared everywhere. This dress combines that iconic striped bandage technique he used with inky black velvet strips. The silk is an almost gunmetal grey, rather then black, and this combined with the deep black of the velvet make for a fabulous contrast. The bodice is molded and shaped and the fabric will stretch and mold tightly to your shape - his signature. The dress hugs your curves from the bust to just above the hip and then the silk skirt flows to the floor in a soft draping column. The silk used for the skirt is light in weight and has no lining so it really moves wonderfully. The fabric on the bodice has his signature spandex worked through it so that the fit is perfect. One small note to review below. Presents as excellent

The bodice is fully lined in a black silk satin and the skirt unlined. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. There is one darkened area on the back skirt that would not even photo - it is not a huge difference in color but there. Priced accordingly. This is an amazing and very sexy gown in that wonderful minimalist feel that was the cornerstone of that whole nineties aesthetic. Montana designed for strong, powerful woman and his clothes often combine stark simplicity with one strong sensual statement detail - like the extremely low, plunging V back on this dress. From the front the cut in as simple as can be with a high neck and curving seams that have a touch of a thirties feel to their placement. The fabric is a light crepe so falls well but not so light that you have to have the perfect body underneath - this fabric is light enough to drape well but heavy enough to cover flaws and be flattering. So from the front you are simple and sleek and then when you turn you have this huge expanse of sexy bare skin. The back is left almost completely bare and the V is to the low back. The dress skims over the torso in a sleek column, gliding over the waist. The waist itself is given shape through vertical seaming. The skirt is long and slim cut with a high slit up the back. Very flattering when on. Excellent condition.

This wonderful little black dress is a testament to the greatness of James Galanos who was one of the great American Couturiers. Every detail on it is perfect and every seam is placed to ensure that the dress falls and sits properly once on and flatters the person wearing it. When it is extremely light and has a "floating" feel to it and yet, at the same time it still feels like a properly constructed couture level garment. The fabric is a fine silk through the body with a textured silk chiffon used for the sleeves and the lining. It is cut with a gathered skirt that slightly flares out and moves wonderfully. There is a small discreet slit on the front and also at the back that gives you ease of movement through the skirt. The sleeves are fantastic and the star of the dress. Each is very long when off the body but once on and buttoned, they pouf out above the wrist dramatically . This combination of silks and the cut give the dress a romantic and feminine quality. High inset shoulders are the perfect finish. It is am amazing original Galanos piece that is extremely collectible and infinitely wearable. A real treasure of a find and once of the best constructed dresses I have seen. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a full second layer of fine silk chiffon except for the sleeves which are left unlines. It closes with a hand-set back painted metal zipper and each cuff has a button with a proper dressmakers button hole to close. Lots of other couture level details - tiny loops inside each shoulder keeps your undergarments in place, hand finished and properly finished seam edges inside.

This is a very rare, museum quality example of Gustave Tassell, who was one of the great American Couturiers. Example of his work are extremely hard to come by and most are only found in museum collections! For those not familiar with his work, Tassell won a Coty Award in 1962, was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy and designed for the house of Norell when Normal Norell died. This piece predates his work for Norell and is from the period between 1959-1972 when he was running his own couture house. Based on the lines and fabrication of this dress I suspect it is from one of his very first collections.

The dress itself is extraordinary. It has that wonderful "New Look" feel to it with its full skirts and beautiful fabric combination. He combines a fine silk taffeta with a French Chantilly lace that lies over a nude color on the bodice and a more gold tones silk for the skirts. This allows the fabric to become a design element in itself and showcases that beautiful lace. Once on the body the volume of the skirts is showcased and the lines become magical. I have styled it over a light crinoline so you can see just how full those skirts are. The skirt is just a masterpiece of construction with its mix of silk and lace panels. It is set into the waist with a series of soft pleats that really allow for fullness - you will get almost the same fullness that you see here even without a crinoline because of the way the fabric is set. The bodice sits above a cinched in waist and is cut to skim over the body. The neckline is set quite wide and is finished with a panel of lace that is folded and stitched to create its curves shape. It is a rare dress that is very beautiful and even beyond that, is a stunning example of a great American Couturier. Excellent condition

Fully lined through the bodice in a fine, high grade, hand set, nude silk chiffon and has an underskirt made of a gold silk taffeta. It closes with a back painted, hand set, metal zipper. Hand finished. Note that the waist looks to have been altered at some point and has a ribbon finish as photoed. I see small stitch marks above the ribbon in the fabric. A truly beautiful little fifties cocktail dress that has lines suggestive of the work Ceil Chapman was doing during this time period. It only has its Bullock's Wilshire label left so who the designer is will remain a mystery. It is impeccably constructed with lots of hand finishes and details with no expenses spared in the construction. The cut follows every curve with an inner skirt done in a long lean pencil shape that then has layers of silk chiffon floating over it. These twirl and swirl around you when you move and give the dress lots of movement and a feeling of softness.The waist cinches in with hand paced and gathered silk defining it, and then the top is a beautiful illusion finish with lots of wow factor. A fitted black top sits under the transparent silk chiffon. The bust is simple with gentles curves and seams to follow your bust line and it is suspended but two tiny straps. Over this is a layer of silk chiffon that covers the shoulders and extends into simple sleeves! And don't think the back won't leave them panting after all that - it's a deep V that allows you bare skin to give a subtle sexy departure. Little bows offset that V and run down the back over the zipper. Gorgeous. Excellent condition.

Helena Barbieri pieces are magic. She designed evening and formal wear through the 1940s and into the late 1950s. Her work was always very feminine, with simple lines and using only the best fabrics. She then often added elaborate embellishments and detailings that took her dresses to a higher level and really gave them a touch of a Hollywood feel. I love finding her dresses because they feel rather timeless and stand up well to modern pieces even though they are all in the 70 odd year old category based on when she was designing. This dress is exceptional and it literally looks like it was never worn. The inside is all done in white and it is as fresh and pristine as it would have been when made. The dress is just so beautiful. It is made of two layers - a more fitted sheath of silk twill that has a silk chiffon overlay. Both layers have that same beautiful print of those huge pink blooms and the effect of the two layers over each other give the pattern depth. The bodice is fitted with an inner construction that adds support, and then the inner layer falls out from that. The outer layer floats over this in a slim column at the front and at the back it is gathered into an extravagant panel that floats to the floor.  At the small of the back two huge deep pink silk flowers nestle and give the dress its final, perfect romantic finish. It is the perfect balance of femininity and structure and this stunning Barbieri dress is like a breath of fresh air. Excellent condition

The inner silk twill part of the dress is fully interlined in a white silk organza and close at the back with a painted metal zipper. The inner bodice has another layer done in a thicker grosgrain like fabric and this portion is boned for support.

This is an extraordinary and early black label Ceil Chapman and is really an exceptional example of her earlier pieces. You mostly see the later fitted versions from Ceil for sale out there, the silhouette made famous by Marilyn Monroe, but this is a true and earlier 1950s beauty and is just wonderful. The skirt is very full and made of a three separate layers of silk - an opaque silk for the very inner layer topped by two more layers of silk chiffon that float over that. This top two layers of the skirt are incredibly full with literally yards of silk used in them. The waist is nipped in with a piped detailing. The bodice of this dress is amazing. It is made of the same fine black silk chiffon and the upper bust and sleeves are completely hand gathered and softly pleated into place to gently circle the shoulders and bust. The neckline is cut quite wide and depending on your shoulders you could easily get away with wearing this more off shoulder. The silk is so fine and light the the feel of the dress is magical. Excellent condition.

The bodice is interlined in a black silk and the skirt lined in silk as described above. It closes with a back painted and metal zipper.It did not style it with a crinoline but it has room for a light one if you wanted more fullness. Hand finishes

The most important thing to know about this dress is that it has heart shaped sequins. That in itself makes it covetable. I don't think I have seen heart shaped sequins from this time period before and its little details like this that make me love vintage so much. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine. The skirt skims over the hips and falls in a slim column to the floor with a small vent at the front to allow for walking. The bodice is classic thirties with short sleeves and a high V neck with a gathered ruching detail running down the front to just past the waist. The shoulders are the stars of the show on this dress and each is made of a nubby textured wool - one in red, one in green. They are inset to give the illusion of an off-shoulder detail and each is covered with perfectly spaced little heart sequins. It's genius. Eisenberg dresses from the late thirties and early 1940s are almost impossible to find anymore as the company only made clothing for a few short decades - completely going from clothing to only producing jewels as of 1958. The pieces from the thirties and forties are the most collectible and this was definitely the "heyday" of the clothing division. Excellent condition with some tiny things to note below

Eisenberg dresses from the 1940s are almost impossible to find anymore as the company only made clothing for a few short decades - completely going from clothing to only producing jewels as of 1958. The pieces from the thirties and forties are the most collectible and this was definitely the "heyday" of the clothing division. This wonderful little dress is like the holy grail of swing dresses with its fantastic details. Combine that with the rare Eisenberg Originals label and you have a winning combination for any collector. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine. The skirt skims over the hips and flares out at the hem to give it an extra kick and swing effect. The bodice is classic forties with short sleeves and a high V neck. Set into the fabric and starting on one sleeve, crossing over the bodice and down the side of the skirt are little abstract designs that remind me of seaside. These are made by literal cut outs of the black silk crepe fabric and then placing hand painted panels of silk behind. You can clearly see that each little panel of silk secured behind the cut puts has been individually painted to perfectly match the subsequent design that you see from the front. Its genius. If that was not enough the dress closes with a series of buttons that start at the neck. run down the bodice at an angle and then follow the entire side of the dress. This allows you to leave the skirt open as high as you wish for extra flash of leg. One of the most striking and unusual 1940s dresses I have ever had. Excellent condition with some tiny things to note below

These are pretty rare and I am pleased to have a small selection of these high end lingerie pieces in. This set is just wonderful and I love that the silk is opaque enough that you could easily wear the inner piece as a summer slip dress without hesitation. What a beautiful set this is and it is obviously lingerie of a very high quality. It is two pieces - an inner night dress made of silk and lace and an outer silk robe trimmed in the same fine lace. The color of both is a pretty soft, pastel lavender and the netting based lace is an off-white. The inner dress is a loose fitting, romantic fall of silk with the lace dividing it into tiered sections. It falls to the floor and is suspended from the shoulder with pretty straps. Even though this is a dress that was probably produced in the eighties and has lots of those eighties elements (dots and gathers anyone?) it still has those classic Oscar lines that make it timeless. His master touch makes it perfectly eighties, but in the best possible way. It has a bit of the forties feel to it but with his classic understated way. It is made from a black silk crepe with those fantastic large white dots scattered over the surface. The neckline is square cut and the sleeves kept shorter. The bodice has been draped and gathered all the way around the torso. From the waist the skirt falls in an elegant and slim column to just past the knee. This is a gorgeous little piece that could be paired with neutrals or brights and easily go from day to evening. The dots give it a high impact factor. Excellent condition.

Yes, this is that lace dress from the Fall 2008 runway. When this came out it sold out before it hit the stores and was wait-listed world wide. And its still as good and wearable now. Maybe even more so as Miuccia always seems to design ahead of the curve.  If you have been looking for that perfect LBD, look no farther as this is it. It is exquisitely made and designed with the lace detailing over the fine silk chiffon inner dress giving it lots of great high end detailing. Its simple shape belies the masterful construction inside as you expect from a piece from Prada. The dress is cut to skim over the body and the lace allows for bits of the skin to peek through but it does have a full inner silk slip that keeps it from being too scandalous (it was shown on the runway unlined but shipped to stores with lining in place). The lace is a dream - its a soft cotton lace that has layered floral accents giving it even more depth them it would already have. It has her signature forties feel to it and is extremely flattering on. Black never photos as well as some of the brights do, but you can be assured that this dress is even better in person. Excellent condition.

Miuccia Prada is about to do for the lace industry what Nicolas Ghesquière did for flower printers last season—send the mills into frantic overdrive. After glimpsing a piece of lace in her studio and at first ignoring it, she found the handmade fabric crept up on her, to the point where it took over almost the entire collection. "I thought using a little bit here and there is tacky, so we've had all Switzerland working on couture lace. They're in shock," Prada laughed after the show. "When you are working on something simple, the surface is important. I wanted to do minimal, something that was feminine and strong—but in the end, not so sexy. And there are a lot of references to early nineties Prada in there." ....There was an erotic force to the show that came out of the tension between covered-up shape and transparency, and an underlying, near-fetishistic darkness that steered the lace away from any sense of froufrou prettiness. Now the Roberto Cavalli label is associated with fantastical jersey gowns and elaborate prints, but when Roberto started as a young designer his love was in textile designs. Very early in his career he invented a process where he was able to transfer prints and paints onto leather and became known for his leather work after his first collection was presented in 1972 (the other jacket I am listing along with this one is a museum quality example of that process). He also presented as a young designer collections that mixed denim and painted leathers of which this wrap jacket is a beautiful example of. It is interesting to note that Bridgette Bardot was a huge fan of his work and many of the shots from this time period of her have her wearing his designs. This is an early and rare piece from those days and it is quite fabulous as it demonstrates all three of his signatures during this time period - the printed leathers, the hand painted leather and denim. The body of the jacket is made of a light weight denim and it has inserts of hand painted leathers that is extremely light and pliant. The designs is a beautiful soft floral design and is quite beautiful. The edges and the belt are of his printed leather and offer a stunning contrast. I love the little trim around the floral design part that combines the two techniques. It looks to be a transfer print on leather with hand painted detailing. It is cut with a nod to the kimono shape with wide sleeves and cut straight through the body. This then wraps and ties with a printed leather belt that matches the main detailing. More painted insets sit on each hip and hide pockets there as well. It's amazing really. Excellent, museum quality condition.

This is a lovely feminine silk-look satin brocade cocktail dress in a pretty soft golden tone with an elaborate taupe bow detail. The detailing wraps around the bust to define the waist at the front, continues around the back and then two panels cascade to the hem. This is classic 1950s and quite wonderful. There Is just the faintest of a gold undertone to the color - here it looks slightly more of a pale yellow but the color is richer feeling in person. The skirt is cut in an exaggerated and full A-line that has a built in underskirt made of tulle that holds that fullness but without the "cupcake" look that can be harder to wear for most girls. The bodice is squared off with wide straps in the same fabric that curve up and over the shoulder to a slightly lower back. For the perfect final detail, little yellow rhinestones are scattered over the dress in hand prong setting. Very romantic feeling and pretty. Presents as excellent condition with a couple of minor items to note below.

Interlined through the bodice with silk organza and the skirt has a built in tulle underskirt. It closes with a side painted metal zipper. There is a the slightest bit of discoloration on the fabric under one arm. Very wearable as is. It would not photo and is mentioned for accuracy. There is some light foxing/scuffing marks on one of the back ties along where it naturally folded on the  Priced accordingly.

This is a fantastic little dress that is similar to the other I have listed but with a different, more form fitting cut. Both are covered with one of the prettiest prints from Prada that I have seen. This makes it very flattering and gives the wearer a beautiful long, lean line. It is beautifully cut and constructed. A wonderful little frock that you can just slip on and instantly feel pretty in. Excellent condition

The colors on this piece are amazing - it is a dreamy combination of pinks and purples mixed with a soft pastel ocean blue - all together are quite beautiful and it is one of the most coveted of the Pucci color combinations. His famous contrasting edging is used to highlight the cut and emphasize the geometric design. The nylon jersey that was used for these pieces is fluid and soft and the result weighs mere ounces. The top is cut with triangle cups and the skirt long and full to the floor. The dress is suspended from tiny straps that curve up and around the shoulder and over the back. The back is barely there and dips almost scandalously low. The best part about this is that though it was meant to be lingerie, a modern girl will find that it is completely wearable as a dress with some clever underpinnings and they can also be used as chic beach cover ups while on vacation. A real collectible and in the EPFR world, a real rarity to find such a gorgeous piece that really feels like a true dress. Very sexy. Excellent condition

The dress is suspended from the shoulder with a double strap. It is made of a washable fabric so very easy to care for and travel with. Running through the fabric is one of her signature prints making it instantly recognizable as a Zandra piece. Excellent condition

This dress is a wonderful and early example of Geoffrey Beene's work and to me completely sums up the Beene aesthetic - his pieces are often best when he kept them to a simple cut that had unexpected details. Here the bold use of graphic lines done in perfect little rows of rhinestones create a high impact statement in the simplest of ways. The cut of the black silk dress is long and lean and the fine silk used gives the dress a nice lightness and refinement. The vertical set crystal rhinestone detailing that runs down the front is suggestive of a tuxedo and adds a real sense of glamour to the dress. The buttons are exquisite little crystal squares and run down the front and close each rhinestone edged cuff as well. It all adds up to a dress that is simple but dramatic, perfectly constructed. The choice of using that fine, scarf weight silk, and the very suggestion of pleats that extend out from the crystal detailing, allows the dress to fall in a soft column when on and the fabric to gently follow your movements. A wonderful, statement piece from a master. Excellent condition.

I love finding Donald Brooks pieces  - they have a certain ease about them - partly due to his fabric choices and also in part because of his cutting and draping techniques. This dress is a gorgeous graphic black and white printed jersey that has been finished with a scattering of rhinestones across its surface. This makes for the perfect combination of full out decadence that contrasts with the ease of the fabric - a delicious contrast when put together. The faceted glass crystal detailing is hand, prong set across the upper portion of the dress and sleeves. It's an ingenious way to give it a little glitz without ruining the perfect simplicity of the jersey. The stones are spaced put from each other all down the front and back and sleeves so you catch the light. The fit of the dress is done so that it skims over the bust and waist and the sleeves are left long. There are yards of fabric used in the skirt so it has a nice movement to it. An unusual and striking dress. Excellent condition.

I am such a huge Hanae Mori fan and this particular dress is sublime. It really feels of this season and so fresh and modern still that it is easy to imagine slipping it on and going out the same day it arrives at your door. It is made of two layers of silk through the skirt - the inner layer is a luxurious silk twill feather and the outer a feather light silk chiffon that floats over the interior. Both layers have been custom screened with one of her beautiful prints and the effect of the two prints layered over each other is quite beautiful and adds an unexpected depth to the print. Once the dress is slipped on, it feels like it weighs next to nothing and simply floats around you. The print is a beautifully simple, yet striking, mix of an off-white and a soft chocolate brown with an added splash of a purple mixed in. The design is pure Hanae and the print is just extraordinary and beautiful. The neck is gently scooped at the front and there is a deeper V cut at the back and it is cut wide across. The sleeves are cut to pouf out slightly just above their cuffs and like the bodice have been left unlined so have an airy feminine feel to them. The skirt flows to the floor in a perfect soft flowing column of silk and the column allowed by the two layers gives it a pretty floating feel. Excellent condition.

The interior of the skirt is interline lined with a white silk. The sleeves and bodice are left unlined. It closes at the back at the waist with a low, hand set painted back zipper on the interior skirt layer. From the waist up it closes with a series of hand covered fabric hooks and snaps and these also close the exterior skirt over the zipper. Each cuff has a hidden set fabric covered snaps. Hand finished through out to demi-couture standards.

This amazing two piece set by Yves Saint Laurent combines his love of high end details with the beautiful prints that he was able to produce using his signature challis fabric. The set consists of a dramatic, voluminous gypsy style top and a pretty matching skirt. Both pieces are printed with one of Yves signature prints and I love the softness of the colors mixed with the pops of silks used on the collar and cuffs. The top is spectacular and a collectible in its own right. You can wear it loose and peasant style or it will blouse when tucked as I have shown here. The sleeves are cut with extravagant ruffles adoring each cuff from the elbow to the bottom of the cuff and above that they are cut fuller. The neck is is also ruffled with silk and cut high with a deep keyhole front. It has its original tie around the neck as well. The skirt has a more fitted cut around the hip and then a contrasting panel of printed fabric that flares out in a pretty swing of fabric. Being two pieces it is very versatile and you will be able to wear these together or separate. Excellent, appears unworn condition

Both pieces are unlined. The skirt closes with a side zipper and hook and eye at the waist. The top slips on to wear and buttons at the top of the keyhole at the neck. Each cuff buttons with two spaced out buttons hidden under the silk frill.

This is the second time I have had this dress and I love it just as much the second time around. It is a beautiful full length dress by Oscar De La Renta in his classic hostess gown silhouette. It is  constructed from a beautiful silk brocade whose color is a deep raspberry pink that has a purple undertone to it. The base fabric has a simple matte finish that then has a metallic thread in the same color woven through it to create the designs on the dress that you see. The metallic thread catches the light beautifully and the dots and curved peaks that run over the dress from top to bottom add a stunning visual interest. The sleeves are slightly full and caught up in a defined cuff in at each wrist. A simple scooped collar tops the simple bodice. From there the waist nips in and you can add more shape with the brilliant green metallic fabric belt whose fabric has been done on the opposite way of the dress - the base is metallic and the dots are matte. Below the waist the skirt billows out and flows to the ground in a beautiful cascade of fabric. Excellent condition

Fully lined in a purple silk and closes at the back with a hand set, painted zipper. Each sleeve closes with two hidden, fabric covered snaps. The belt is in excellent condition. Note that though the waist and bust are fuller it is cut smaller through the shoulder.

Alice Temperly founded her label in 2000, a year after graduating from the Royal College of Art and this dress is from one of her early collections. She has continued to grow and build her label and it has become one of the best loved on the globe for her sense of romance and femininity without be saccharin. I love this sexy little knit dress with its color combination of a neutral silk thread mixed with black and gold. This lies over an inner lining of fluid lingerie weight jersey so it very easy to wear, comfortable and travels perfectly. It is a sleek sheath of a fine, soft, silk knit that has a deep plunging keyhole at the front with one small hook that perfectly keeps your modestly in check. I love the shape this creates there. It skims and clings over the body but in a forgiving way, helped by that beautiful design that runs down the front and back and down each wide sleeve. Excellent condition

Lined in a nude lingerie weight nylon and slips on. Tagged a UK 12/US8. I see a tuny area of darkening on the front of the knit but it is not noticeable when on and very very light - too light to capture in the photos.

This lovely little blue cotton dress by Vivienne Westwood is just fantastic and will easily stand the test of time. I love the sexy hourglass silhouette it has and the detailing on it is fabulous. It is made from a 100% cotton mix that makes it lightweight and easy to wear. I love how this choice in fabric contrasts with the overall feel of the dress and gives it that little bit extra versatility. The dress is "dressy" in the cut and design, but can also be worn with a more casual vibe as well because it is made of cotton. It is beautifully cut and has a more fitted feel due to the cinched in waist. The collar on the dress is just wonderful - it is cut to sit up a bit with some volume and that really adds to the drama of the dress. The overall cut is classic Westwood with its low and wide cut neckline that shows off the bust and collar bone. It wraps and snaps into place with big hidden snaps and has a belt made of the same fabric that wraps around the waist. The fabric belt is made so it twists and has a ruffled effect. It is fabulous. As an added bonus because of the way it closes you could wear it as a layered piece over other pieces - I have photoed it opened so you can see. Excellent, appears unworn condition

Guy Laroche began his fashion career under Jean Desses in 1949 and by 1957 he had opened his own atelier. He made extraordinary pieces of couture that spanned simple day-wear to elaborate evening pieces.Here we have one of his day pieces that could potentially be more cocktail wear with a quick change of shoes and accessories. It is stunningly constructed and in museum quality condition. It is also a wonderful example of the high end work with a difficult fabric - a bias cut silk crepe. It is two separate pieces, both made of a deep navy silk. The inner dress gives the wearer the feeling of some inner structure and has the ruffled collar that you see peaking out from the simple neckline of the exterior dress. It is a true inner dress though with panels of a denser silk used in the areas that would need more coverage. The exterior is made of the single silk fabric and is kept starkly simple but with incredible seaming details that remind me of the 1930s in feel. It is all cut on the bias so naturally drapes and hugs the body once one with a bit of a flare at the hem of the skirt. A fabulous piece and in excellent, museum quality condition with a tiny note on that below.

Both pieces are unlined with the inner dress acting as the lining for the outer. Each closes with its own hidden set, side painted metal zipper. Note that some of the seams are loosening. Normally I would have them all tightened but since it is true Haute Couture I have left it as found. There is a darkening to the fabric on a couple of small areas to the inner dress - this does not show once on - and the very slightest of press marks here there to the seams. Hate couture tag on the interior of the outer dress only. The silk does have some stretch to will accommodate another inch at least to all the measurements listed below

This wonderful Stavropoulos dress is an absolute extravagance of silk chiffon tiers. It is made from layers and layers of a beautiful ivory silk chiffon crepe all stitched onto an underlay of a silver lame fabric so you get just the glimpse of the metallic feel through the fabric layers. This combination of ruffled tiers and the glimpses of the silver give the dress a wonderful romantic but glamorous feel. Each layer of fabric is set so that it floats over the next and the entire concoction moves and floats around you when you move. The bodice is gently scooped across the front and has two tiny straps adorned with rhinestones and silver beads that go up and around the shoulders. At the back it dips into a deeper V shaped plunge. The front of the dress is also cut slightly shorter then the back so its a midi length from the front and to the ankle (or lower depending on your height) at the back. A wonderful and romantic dress in person. Excellent condition.

George Stavropoulos was an amazing designer and to find his early work is already fabulous but to find a piece done at this level is just a treat. This gown is really museum worthy. His clients, who included Elizabeth Taylor and opera singer Maria Calla, adored and cherished him for his ability to create stunning evening wear. His hallmark pieces were simple but with a masters attention to cut. He shunned overt ornamentation and instead focused on cut and fabric to convey the beauty of each piece. This is an amazing example of what he could create following that simple guideline. His pieces are almost always entirely hand made and most are made to demi-couture standards giving you incredible value for your money.

Fully lined in the same ivory silk crepe under the silver lame layer. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Hand finishes. Bias cut so the fabric has stretch and drape so has a greater size range

Beene is one of the great American designers and I always look for his work. When I find amazing pieces from his earliest, Geoffrey Beene Boutique, days I am even happier. This fabulous full length, fitted black dress is an amazing find and with its shiny contrasting black buttons running down the front and big over-sized pockets feels shockingly modern in that minimalist kind of way. I feel like I have seen this dress before as well and there is a memory tugging at me that says maybe Chacnel did something remarkably similar in the 80s and the recent Balmain pieces have this same vibe as well. It is made from a wool knit jersey fabric that has a good weight to it and feels "high end" when on and holds the shape wonderfully as well. The large black buttons that run down the front give the dress a surprisingly modern feel and because they end just about mid-though add a little sexiness when you walk or move in the dress. I love the squared off bust-line and skinny straps in a matching fabric - I feel that if you wished you could even wear this one strapless and it would work amazingly. The front has four flap pocket buttons and the placement along the upper edge of the bust is brilliant. They also are all functional giving it a little tongue in cheekiness that only you will know about. Its simplicity is part of its appeal and it looks amazing once on. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a high grade black silk and close with the front buttons. Proper tailored buttonholes and hand finished beautifully inside.

This is such a pretty and soft Galanos set that is just stunning and I have not seen another like it. Galanos was known as the designer that could rival the French in terms of construction and design. He launched his atelier in 1951 and though he was never a designer that was formally made a couture house he certainly produced clothing with many of the hallmarks that define couture, thus giving him the status as being known as one of the "American Couturiers". I love the soft, muted print used on each of the three pieces of this set. It it a little like wearing a painting and it has a wonderful romantic feel to it. The silk chiffon fabric that he chose to use for all of the pieces is wonderful and really give it a sensual and luxurious feel. The top is a light, bias cut silk chiffon that buttons down the front and has a bit of a box cut. I have shown it used as the top here but you could even use it as a light jacket. The skirt is classic Galanos done in a matching bias cut silk chiffon. The waist nips in and then the skirt cascades to the floor in a widening column of fabric. It moves wonderfully and is a nice larger size too. The set also has its original sash tie that can be used at the neck, as a head wrap or around the waist. It is quite beautiful. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Both pieces are fully interlined  in a soft peach silk chiffon with chiffon ribbon finished edges and weights in the top and french seams in the skirt. The top buttons to close and the skirt closes at the side with a zipper at the waist. Zippers at each cuff.

This is a really phenomenal little cocktail dress whose photos here really do not fully convey the beauty of the fabric or the richness and pure genius of that cut and the way the entire thing is constructed. Sarmi was known for evening wear and dramatic pieces that were well made with dramatic details and had a true decadent feel to them & this is a wonderful example of his work. The body of the dress is made of a black silk satin with a defined waist accented by the most beautiful bow and flower. A ribbon wraps around and hooks under the front flower for a pretty touch. The skirt flares out gently from that waist and widens slightly as it falls gracefully past the knee and is finished with a ruffled hem. The neckline is kept perfectly simple with no collar and a notched neckline so the lines are kept smooth and perfect.  The final touch is the long sleeves whose riffled cuffs perfectly tie it all together. Most likely a one of a kind custom piece as were most of his pieces. Excellent condition

This highly dramatic and unusual eighties set from Norma Kamali should probably be in a museum. It is certainly unusual enough to be the highlight of any exhibit that wants to show the extreme fashions of the eighties and unusual aspects and experimentation in design of this time period. The element of surprise here is of course the sleeves. They are insanely long. Once scrunched up on the arm as they are intended to be, they created a a design element on their own but just the idea of doing it in this particular manner is so fabulous. It really shows how she pushed the boundaries and was forging her own path. The entire set is made from her signature jersey that is so easy to wear and care for and drapes amazingly. The dress is loose and easy fitting with a dolman top that narrows to a more fitted hip. Over this is slung a pane of fabric that is gathered  and seamed at the end so that it sits on the shoulder. You can wear it on the side you prefer and could probably style it a dozen unusual ways if you wanted to get creative. It is so rare to find these earlier examples of her work in a complete set like this and this particular one is fabulous. Excellent condition.

Unlined, light stretch matte jersey in blue that slips on to wear. There is a hook and eye at the back of the neck. The draped overlay slips on and is a lopped panel of fabric. It is a slightly different hue then the dress and I believe this is intentional. I see a couple of small repairs on this overlay but they get lost in the folds once on. The loose and easy fit will allow it to be an almost one size fits all piece.

This is an amazing mid-eighties number that is so representative of the more subtle and elegant movement of that time period. The long and lean silhouette was in full swing but you still see the use of extravagant draping and that gorgeous bare shoulder silhouette that is presented beautifully in this dress. The draped collar is set so that it flows right into the "sleeve" and the result leaves the entire shoulder bare. The bodice has softly placed panels of fabric that wrap and drape around the wearer adding texture and shape. The waist is nipped by that draping fabric and the skirt flows in a long and lean column from there, hugging the body and creating curves.  I love the dipped front bodice and that the back has been left unadorned by the draping so that no extra volume is added and it has a sleek and simple finish. The fabric itself is an exquisite choice as the silk taffeta catches the light and changes color in a subtle way so the dress seems to come alive and flow over the skin yet the dress itself is structured and not flowing or loose fitting. It is exquisite. Excellent condition with one small item to note below.

Unlined and closes with a back painted metal & nylon zipper. Lightly boned through the bodice with a muslin inner bodice piece that has boning running through it. There is a small slit in the fabric at the back about 15" above the hemline that is just under 1" ling. Its skinny and appears stable. It did not expand when cleaned so is left as found - see photo. Priced accordingly.

For a very short period of time during the  late 1960s and into the  very early 1970s the house of Balmain had a wonderful line of knits 'Les Tricots Pierre Balmain Paris' that was their answer the the more casual needs of women of that era. The great lines and aesthetic of the house was still there and they were, like this one, more often glittering, lame infused affairs that were more 'over the top' then they were casual. Which is, of course, why they are still fabulous now. I have seen a few of these pop up here and there and I would hazard to say that this one is one of the best that I have seen come up simply because it is so much fun. The dress is a simple shift made of a knit that has gold lurex thread running through the design. It has a high rounded collar and skims over the bust, waist and hips and end at a flared out here. The jagged finished hem is the focal point - it has a row of black yarn pom poms circling it all the way around and I love how these move and add a saucy and sexy finish. Excellent condition.

This dress is darling and done in a classic Yves Saint Laurent cut and silhouette. The light crepe fabric is of the highest possible grade and I adore the red, green and blue pattern on the white backdrop - it feels so fresh and clean. It has a very 40s throwback feel combined with a bit of a sporty tennis dress feel and is very chic. The top is cut like a button front shirt with slightly puffed short sleeves. The skirt features his superb use of pleat work begins just below the more fitted hip and gives the skirt volume when you move. It buttons down the front with a row of buttons that end just past the waist. Love the pointed collar and little puffed sleeves giving it that signature YSL touch. Add a contrasting belt for more shape or wear without. Excellent condition with one small item of note below.

Unlined and closes with the buttons you see at the front. Tagged a vintage 44 but please check actual listed measurements. There are some long skinny pulls here and there in the fabric on the front - they are lost in the pattern but are there. I have photoed it and reduced the price but its really fine and wearable as is.

This spectacular eighties dress with its matching shawl from Norma Kamali is not only super sexy but it gives you lots of styling options and is instantly recognizable as from her. It is made from her signature slinky, lightweight jersey that she favors to this day. It is the type of fabric that is so easy to wear and care for and drapes amazingly. The dress is in a design that she still uses in variations in current collections but I feel these older, original pieces are that much stronger and really are the basis of her entire signature look. It has a dramatic draped top, strong shoulders and a fitted draped hip that you can wear high or low, over the skirt that comes to a point at the font and back and sits higher on each side. I have shown it at full length but that gathered cinching in at the waist does allow you to wear it further up on the hip to shorten the length as well. It has a matching square of fabric that you can use to style multiple ways. It is so rare to find these earlier examples of her work in a complete set like this and this particular one is fabulous. Excellent condition.

What you may not see at first glance with this particular piece is that is is indeed a jumpsuit with extra wide cut legs so that it has a full length dress feel once on. You can really see his play on using more sports-like and unusual fabrics in this piece as it is made out of a black silk jersey for the jumpsuit and a stiffened netting for the jacket. Both pieces are then trimmed in dressmakers tape - a fabric choice normally hidden inside a hem. It even uses velcro to close the very top of the neck of the jacket! This fabric choice makes it comfortable to wear and perfect for tropical temperatures and sultry evenings. Each pant is cut extra wide with that horsehair tape trim at the cuff that gives it the weight and shape it needs to fall perfectly. There is not defines waist - it just skims up and over the body to a pointed halter top that ties around the neck with more of that fabulous white taping. The back scooped scandalously low and again is edged with the white so that it sits slightly away from the body in the most interesting and sculptural of ways. The jacket is cut full and boxed with incredible volume. It's translucent net allows the skin revealed by the cut of the jumpsuit to show through and the volume perfectly balances those wide cut legs. This is a classic and sculptural Beene and very sexy. The fabrics and stark graphic feel of the black and white combined with the balance of volume and skin showing all work with each other beautifully. This play on transparency is a staple of Beene's work and here he takes it to a sophisticated, sculpted level. This is really couture level workmanship and quite extraordinary and unusual. Excellent, unworn condition with original hang tag present.

Both pieces are unlined and slip on to wear. The jumpsuit ties at the neck and the jacket has a hidden velcro closure at the front top neck. Ribbon edge finishes on the interior fo the jumpsuit. Note the jacket is also labeled under one arm but only the jumpsuit label was photoed. It has its original hang tag present. Tagged a vintage 10 but please check measurements. It is meant to fit with volume and the silk of the jumpsuit is cut slightly on the bias so it does have some give and stretch.

Here is another from my recent European acquisition and boy is it a beauty. This one appears to have been entirely made by hand to couture standards and does have a label. I believe it says Paul Dauuay and was made in Geneve. He was undoubtedly one of those small, local couturiers that though not a sanctioned Haute Couture member, was obviously making dresses to that standard. So this is to haute couture standards but considered demi-couture since he was not a member. While researching his name it was interesting to find that a piece from this same label was in one of the Elizabeth Taylor auctions so his clientelle was very high end indeed. Even without that Hollywood association, the dress itself is amazing. It is strapless and fitted. I suspect it is from the early 50s based on that amazing hip detail - the kind of finish held over from the forties that one would still have seen. It is made from a black crepe and is sculpted and seam to hug and fit the body perfectly. The upper edge of the bodice turns down to form a "collar" and it glides over the bust to a nipped in waist. The hips are fitted with that dramatic panel hand gathered and placed on the hip in a marvelous swoop of fabric that curves down to join the skirt. It buttons down the side to the hem where weights are set within the hem and inner silk lining so that it all falls perfectly into place. It is honestly magnificent and very sexy and chic. Tremendous workmanship and an inspired design. Excellent condition

Made to couture standards and partially silk lined. Boned through the bodice and weighted throughout. It closes down the side with fabric covered buttons to just under the waist and hook & eye. A metal zipper lies under the buttons at the waist as well. Built in padding at the bust.  The inner construction is wonderful.

I absolutely adore this printed Lanvin dress with its amazing mod feeling design screened onto the crepe fabric. It feels especially appropriate right now with what is happening over at Gucci and has that same vibe to it. It is so bright and cheerful and done in the perfect coral hues to flatter most skin tones. It is cut straight through the waist in that classic shift shape so it is very comfortable and easy to wear. You can also use the original tie belt to define and cinch in the waist even more. I love the the long sleeves with their cuffed ends and slight fullness just above each wrist. It buttons down the front, allowing you to leave it undone and quite low to add a flash of skin, or keep it buttoned up. A neat little pointed collar is the perfect finishing detail. Excellent condition with two small items to note below.

Unlined and buttons to close down the front. Original matching fabric belt. Each sleeve closes with a button. Note that there are three missing buttons - two on one cuff and one on the front. One front button also has its cover missing. You could move the other cuff buttons to the front and replace all the cuff buttons and just have those natch each other. We also note some slight stretching to the threads at the seams - all are sewn but you can see the threads if you flatten out the seams. Sold as found (but dry cleaned of course) and priced at a steal.

This is the second time I have had this dress and I love it even more the second time around. It is just a spectacular example of his work. The same dress is part of the permanent collection at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and that one was displayed in the 2013 exhibit "Hippie Chic.  A similar gown also resides in The Met collection with a shorter skirt length and different pattern. The cut is otherwise the same.

The Fall/Winter 1971-72 collection took its inspiration from the Medieval time period and many of the pieces in the collection had this influence, including this one. Sant' Angelo was the winner of two Coty Awards and two Council of Fashion Designers of America honors and was known for his innovation and pioneering use of stretch fabrics. Here we have a dress that really showcases his love of color and mastery of mixing it. It also showcases his use of fabrics that were, up to this point in time, largely not used at all in woman's fashion and certainly not for dresses. The fabric he chose is a soft cotton that has a fleeced T-shirt feel. It has a touch of a stretch to it that makes it deliciously comfortable to wear. His signature piping finishes the neck and the multiple patterns are masterfully layered over each other in tiers through the body and over the waist. The sleeves are amazing and made of two tiers of fabric that sit over each other to mimic the tiers used on the body of the dress.

Sant' Angelo once said, "I am not a fashion designer but an artist who works in fashion engineer of color and form". This dress shows us how true that statement was. Excellent condition and a rare, highly collectible piece.

Unlined and closes with a back painted, hand set metal zipper. I see a couple of tiny nicks on the front skirt. They are lost in the pattern and are stable so have been left as found.

Bus Stop was a boutique label and the shop it originated from was started by Lee Bender. The first opened in 1968 and it was eventually sold to a larger chain in 1979. This dress probably dates form the late 60s - early 70s period and is a great example of her work and the British movement of that time period. It is made of a very light weight cotton that has an almost see through effect as the fabric is so fine and light. The densely printed and very pretty floral pattern takes on a soft washed feel because of it and the colors she chose all work together perfectly. The cut is sexy and yet simple. It has a fabric covered, button front that allows for a hint of skin to peek through. This is topped by a long pointed collar that is so representative of this era.  The waist is set high and this tops a fuller midi skirt. The sleeves give it a final perfect pop - each is fitted to the elbow and then flare out in a dramatic bell cut that is full and wide full above the wrist for a really dramatic finish. Excellent condition.

Unlined and closes with a back zipper. The front buttons are fabric covered and all are functional. Note that the zipper lies with a slight bumpiness - it does not affect the wearability of the dress but is noted for accuracy.

This spectacular eighties two piece set from Norma Kamali is not only super sexy but is like buying several outfits at once sine the pieces are great as stand alone's and the inner skirt can be worn at different lengths and can also be worn as a dress. I love the two together best, but it is certainly nice to be able to separate and wear them with with other items. Both pieces are made from her signature jersey that is so easy to wear and care for and drapes amazingly. The top dress is in a design that she still uses in variations today with a dramatic draped top, string shoulders and a fitted draped hip that you can wear high or low, over the skirt that comes with it or wear as a top or a mini dress on its own. The skirt is equally amazing - it is a long fitted sheath with a gathered cinching in at the waist that allows you to wear it on the hip or up and over the bust as a dress - this also lets you change the length of it or wear it on its own. It has a high center slit that is covered with a panel of draped fabric that falls to the hem. It is so rare to find these earlier examples of her work in a complete set like this and this particular one is fabulous.Excellent condition.

Unlined, light stretch matte jersey in red. There is elastic that runs through the waist and hips on the top/dress and the skirt has stretch. The very top of the waist of the inner piece has a slight stretch to it from being worn but it is only a teeny bit. Well constructed.

George Stavropoulos was an amazing designer and to find his early work is already fabulous but to find a piece done at this level is just a treat. This gown is really museum worthy. His clients, who included Elizabeth Taylor and opera singer Maria Calla, adored and cherished him for his ability to create stunning evening wear. His hallmark pieces were simple but with a masters attention to cut. He shunned overt ornamentation and instead focused on cut and fabric to convey the beauty of each piece. This is an amazing example of what he could create following that simple guideline. His pieces are almost always entirely hand made and most are made to demi-couture standards giving you incredible value for your money.

This stunning dress with its matching capelet and mile-long sash is incredible. I love the lightness and airiness created by the chiffon and the brilliance of that perfect summer coral (in person it is a true coral - the photos don't quite capture the tone of the color - its better in person). The fabric is cut on the bias and there are yards and yards used to make this little beauty. Incredibly, there are four full layers of silk used in the skirt alone! The bodice is cut simply with a rounded, scooped front and another scoop at the back that is cut lower for a little extra bit of skin to show. The waist is seamed so that is is very flattering without being overtly fitted - if you want to add more definition you can cinch on the sash around your waist. That spectacular full skirt then flows beautifully to the floor from there. The little cape that comes with it, sits on the shoulders, buttoning to either the back or front depending on how you want to wear it - and adds a pretty detail and flowing feel to the dress. The sash is very ling and you can wear it a multitude of ways and even substitute the capelet out and wear it around the neck for a bit of a different look to the dress. It is very pretty and fresh feeling - a girl will dance the entire night away in a dress like this. Excellent condition

Comprised of multiple layers of the same coral silk chiffon. Closes with a back, hidden set, painted zipper. The capelet is unlined and buttons at the neck. I see one teeny bit of darkening to the fabric about mid thigh on one side. The volume of fabric efficiently hide it and it does not detract. Bias cut so there is some play in the listed measurements - we have listed to the max they will go
