I Have a Question
The 1970s saw the height of the cape's popularity and they were a tremendously easy way to add a ton of drama to any outfit from jeans to evening wear. This one is made from a heavy grey wool and is cut to be full length and with tremendous volume through the cut. The lines are easy and the weight of the wool allows it to fall from the shoulders in a swoop of fabric that falls to the floor. It is constructed from a steel grey wool that is warm and has a decent weight to it, but is not so heavy as to be cumbersome when on. It hooks at the neck with a large hook & eye and is open below that to allow for the maximum movement. The detailing on it is incredible. It has a hand set braided cord in two shades of grey that is done in an intricate pattern to follows the collar and then runs down both sides of the front. Two large medallions of cording are also set under each point of the collar. Excellent condition with a note below
Unlined with ribbon finished interior seams and closes with a hook & eye at the neck. I see a couple of pinhole repairs that are seen from the back only
Length: 58" from neck to hem

This is a lovely, lightweight jacket covered in extensive crewel embroidery. The base is a black wool cut into a duster coat silhouette. The lines are long to just past the knee and the collar is cut high and round. The embroidery covers the entire surface of the jacket in the prettiest pastel hues that vary from a light lavender to a soft coral. Even the buttons that run down the front are embroidered. I believe the embroidery work to be machine done so the price is very reasonable. Were this an earlier version that was entirely made by hand you could easily add expect to add a '1' to the front of the listed price. It is a wonderful piece that is light enough to wear year round. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a black silk and buttons down the front as seen. There is one small repaired area on the inside lining near the collar. The easy cut will allow it to fit a range of sizes depending on how you like your jacket to fit.

I have a few variations of these caftans landing in the shop. All came from a woman who traveled extensively and spent a lot of time in Morocco during the late 1970s and she apparently wore these there. She had these caftans custom made in a variety of color and fabric combinations. Each is the same loose and easy shape and all are made out of what feels like a silk and linen mix fabric that has just a touch of transparency to it, They are so chic and the perfect topper to just about anything. They move and billow with the slightest bit of movement and are so flattering on. The trim is a flat embroidered panel done in silver thread. It is set on a stiffening back panel that keeps the shape and gives it a slight feel of structure. It also keeps it sitting on your shoulders. The edges are finished with a silver piping. These are almost identical in shape to the iconic Thea Porter's Abaya caftan and you can see this may have been where her inspiration was drawn from. The color of this one is the perfect inky black that will go with anything. Excellent condition
Unlined and has no true closures. There is a bit of a braided cord at the center front that you could use to tie it if you wished.

There is just a certain cut and line of a seventies halter that once you find you look for variations of it endlessly. This is that dress. It is super chic and one of those easy to wear pieces that you can just throw into a suitcase and it works for day or night, and at the beach, the country, or the city, and you always feel like a million bucks in it. It is made out of a wash and wear cotton and that stripe gives it a fabulous feel. It's got a element of sexiness to it with that low bare back but still feels sweet at the same time. The front has a halter/bikini cut and ties around the back of the neck. This leaves the back virtually bare with the front is cut low and deep so you get a sexy expanse of skin. The skirt cascades to the floor in a widening sweep of fabric and I love how the stripes are set on an angle on the skirt. Excellent condition.
Unlined and ties to close at the back neck and zippers at the low back waist.

The Fetoun label came from a high end shop in Toronto that carriedFrench fashion by a variety of up and coming designers. This coat only retains it's shop label so the designer is a bit of a mystery. It is very well made and has great lines. The color is a brilliant, rich emerald green done on a luxurious silk satin. The combination of color and fabric make it feel like it glows from within. The collar is deep and rounded and the sleeves cut full with a large cuff finish. The coat swoops out form the shoulders in an expanse of fabric that flares out dramatically. The inner lining is done in a matching green so that when the coat flashes open you get no break in line or color. Hidden pockets are set along the front seams. It is a wonderful statement piece and so well made. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a matching green silk. It has no closures. Hidden pockets along the from vertical seams. I see a couple of teeny minor pulls on the edge of the collar but they do not detract in anyway and are very very minor. Mentioned for accuracy.

If you are looking for a dress in a bright shot of color this is it. The rain bow palette travels down the dress in bands of pleated chiffon. Bright pastel [ink, green, yellow and blue are set side by side all the way around the dress for maximum color impact. The dress is a touch too small for my mannequin and will sit better on a smaller girl. It falls in a sleek column of pleats that travel the full length of the dress. The bodice is sleeveless and set in a low V at both the back and front. A piped and braided belt in the quartet of colors is attached and circles the waist. The skirt falls from there in a sweep of pleats that give it a pretty movement when you move. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a nude chiffon. The chiffon used feels like a synthetic but a good one. Closes with a back painted metal and nylon zipper. The attached belt hooks to close at the back.

This is an incredible jumpsuit from the late sixties, early seventies, that is well made and very chic with an extravagant, over the top feel. It has no designer label but I love it none the less and this is the exact type of little "unknown" piece that you only find in vintage. It is made from a gold lame knit that is very light and fluid. That color carries through from shoulder to the hem and the overall effect is a soft muted gold. This golden hue is only broken up by the row of tightly spaced, glossy black facet buttons that run down the front. The top has long cuffed sleeves that give it a nice balance to the wide legs. The top is cut loose and easy and the the high simple collar works whether you button it all the way up or leave it open. Each leg is cut extra wide and full so initially you think it is a maxi dress but it has the ease and comfort of a pant. I love how the fabric of each leg is finished in a series of sharp knife pleats that allow then to fall sleekly when you stand still and then explode into fullness when you move. A matching fabric sash belt cinches in the waist. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with the buttons down the front. Each cuff buttons to close. There is an extra loop for the belt set at the front along the waist so it stays in place once you tie it. One small smudge on one arm near the cuff.

This matches the coat listed today and is a beautiful 1950s silk dress. It is made from a very fine, high end silk. The silk has a beautiful red thread woven through and used in the black silk base to create the beautiful little floral designs sprinkled over its surface. The red is not a true metallic thread but it seems to almost glow in real life. It is really something special and much better in person then how the camera has captured it here - the color is even richer and more true. (One thing to note - the color is a true red - in the label photo it has more of a orange hue and that is the camera lighting not the true color - the other photos are far closer) The little floral medallions are woven directly into the silk. The sweetheart neckline and front pleating detail on the bust are finished with a little romantic bow. The way this is set into the front bodice is a little unusual and very pretty once on. The dress itself is wonderfully cut with that shaped bodice and simple capped sleeves. The waist nips in and the skirt flares out into a gentle A-line. It is a nice light weight and very well made. The shop label it still has was a high end one and I would not be surprised if this was a designer piece that has lost its label. Really it is a steal at this price. Excellent condition
Fully interlined in a black silk organza. It closes with a painted metal zipper at the back. Hand finished and beautifully made.

It has pocket flaps on each hip but they are decorative only. The sleeves end just past the elbows and the back has that wonderful swoop of fabric typical of the period. It is a nice light weight and very well made. The shop label it still has was a high end one and I would not be surprised if this was a designer piece that has lost its label. This gorgeous little dress dates from the 1950s and has such pretty colors and pretty lines that you can't help but swoon at the sight of it. It is also remarkable crisp and white for a dress from this period and it was obviously stored well over all these years. It has no label but is very well made the cotton fabric used is high end. It's that crisp fifties cotton that seems to have never been equaled during any other time period. The top is a simple sleeveless affair with a keyhole, tie neckline. I love how the fabric is gathered all along and into the piped edge of the neckline. This gives it a pretty little touch. This tops a full skirt that has lots of fabric in it and could be worn over a light crinoline if you wanted it even fuller. The original matching fabric covered belt nips in and cinch it in for added shape. The greens and purple colors are a lovely pop against the white and the lines and cut are wonderful. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The belt has a repair tot he holes but presents as excellent once on. Pockets on each hip

I Have a Question
This stunning dress that dates to the late forties, early 1950s combines a beautiful print and color combination with sequins and a pretty feminine feel. The entire dress is stunning and made of a beautiful black cotton voile with a pretty floral print scattered over its surface. The fabric choice helps it to keep its shape and volume and really show off those ruffled tiers perfectly while still keeping it light and summer feeling. Three full tiers make up the skirt and are layered over each other with each getting wider as they near the hem. This creates incredible volume and movement. The top is fitted around the bodice and has a pretty pleated and draped detailing that highlights the bust. Two tiny straps curve over the shoulders. The best part is the finish of green sequins that are hand set everywhere you see the flower print. These early dresses are harder and harder to come by and this one is exceptional. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes at the side with a metal zipper. Hand finishes and hand applied sequins. Note that there is no tag present but the owner passed onto me that it did have a Fred Perlberg label originally.

An absolutely beautiful 1970s piece of bohemian glamour that is in excellent condition. This is a darling little beaded capelet with a pretty fringe bead detail running all the way around the bottom edges. It has a simple hook closure to hold it in place and below that dangles elaborate beaded cords that end in a splay of chiffon and beads. The pattern is stunningly beautiful - glossy gold beads and sequins are hand sewn in a black chiffon and the edges finished with a row of gold ball beads and tube beads. Excellent condition

A very pretty silk bias cut dress from the 1930s that has the prettiest white floral design screened onto the navy blue base. It is pieced together with minimal seaming. The movement you get once it is one is all created because the silk is cut on the bias. This all falls in a swath of silk from the shoulders and it is far prettier on a real body then how it has photoed on the mannequin. The front has an almost squared off neckline and the cut is cut simple and fairly close to the body. At the back, it is scooped into a low V and this sit above a tightly spaced row of buttons. Below this fabric that has been gathered to create a soft draped almost bustle like detail at the back and extra panels of fabric sit inside a pleated effect for a slight trained feel. The neckline is piped in a navy fabric and at the hem there is a wide band of cream silk grosgrain whose edge just peeks below the hem. This treatment at the hem gives it some weight so it falls properly. Excellent condition with one small note below.
The dress is unlined and slips on to wear with a series of hidden snaps under the row of buttons at the back. I see one small storage spot at the base of the strap of the shoulder (photoed) and the inside and edge of the hem show grubbiness.

This little red jersey dress is really amazing if for nothing else but the sheer versatility it will provide to you. It is basically a tube of red jersey with a slit up one seam at the skirt and two mile long ties that extend up from that seam. Those ties are miles long and fall almost tot he hem at the back which gives the back its own drama. This gives you the versatility to tie so many ways it's ridiculous. You just step into it and get creative. I tied it a few ways for the photos and just realized as I am writing up this description that you could probably turn it to the side and do a few version of a single shoulder dress and also drop it and tie it at the waist for a long skirt. It is so forgiving on the body and flattering. It's a definite statement maker with that brilliant red color and it is like buying a dozen dresses in one. Add to that a low scooped back that leave your back bare and it is a knock-out. The fabric is a synthetic jersey that is washable, travels exceptionally well and won't wrinkle. I love it. It is fabulous. Excellent condition
Made from a single layer of the jersey. It slips on the wear and then you tie it as you wish. The fabric has stretch so it will fit a range of sizes. I have given the comfortable range of stretch when measured flat below.
Bust: variable since it has no true side seams and has stretch
Waist to hip: 18-20" flat across from side seam to side seam
Length: somewhat adjustable but approx 59" from neck to hem and it will vary a little depending on how you tie it at the neck

This dress is no longer perfect but still pretty and fabulous. It is an absolute bombshell of a dress and it will give any girl who wears it instant curves. It is made of a black silk organza that is draped and formed around the body to create and emphasize your curves. I love the faux wrap style skirting and how it is detailed at the waist with a bow. The bodice crosses and has hand stitched pleated detailing. Rhinestone detailed straps curve up and over each shoulder. Present well on but please review the condition notes below.
The dress is fully lined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The fabric shows slight discoloration here and there and there is a samll amount of fading under the arms along the edges Please review photos. It still has tond of life and is too pretty not to go to a good home

I Have a Question
This is most likely a more modern piece but has a lovely vintage feel to it. The combination of colors used on it and its sweeping lines and train make it appropriate for the grandest of events. The body of the dress is made of a emerald green net tulle. Onto this are beautiful red and pink floral applique highlighted with a scattering of beads and sequins. These cover the bodice and trail done the front past the waist. More of the same applique work circle each sleeve at its hem. The skirts flow to the floor on a massive sweep of tulle and at the back they flow out behind you in a train. The underskirt is a pretty muted satin in the same brilliant green and this adds a pretty depth to the skirt under the tulle. At the back it laces corset style with the same green silk as the underskirt. This type of closure at the back gives you the ability to cinch it in for the perfect fit and also makes it very comfortable. It is very pretty. Excellent condition
Fully lined in another layer of tulle through the bust with built in cups attached between the layers. The sleeves are left unlined and the skirt is fully lined in a green satin. It laces to close at the back and has a panel that sits behind the lace so no skin shows through. If you wanted the lacing to show a glimpse of skin through you could easily remove this.

This dress is fantastic and with a little TLC could probably be made pretty near perfect. It is a confection of tulle and embroidery and is truly a pretty and romantic dress. The strapless bodice is fitted with a sweetheart neckline that has the illusion of crossing over itself at the front. A pretty peplum circles the front of the hips and under that layers of tulle cascade to the floor for a pretty fullness. What gives it an especially romantic touch is of course that pretty pink and green embroidery that is done across the front of the bodice and covers the panel at the hip. I love how the edges of both follow the curves of the flower pattern and the soft pink and green are perfectly pretty against the off-white tulle. It is beyond romantic. Structurally sound, it has a couple of small stains that were enough to land it in the treasure section. Please review the description below.
Fully lined in a cream silky rayon and the bodice is lightly boned along the sides. Two layers of tulle site over the inner rayon lining of the skirt. It closes with a painted metal zipper at the side. There are some spots on the back of the bodice (photoed) and the dress has a bit of a dingy feel to it. Some light foxing to the fabric if the lining that cannot be seen. I had this cleaned but have not soaked it or worked significantly at it. I think if someone put some dedicated effort into it and soaked it a few times that most of these issues would resolve themselves and you would have a dress worth at least double this price.

This fantastic dress only has its Saks Fifth Avenue tag but is without a doubt a designer piece. It is not perfect but pretty close and with a little TLC (or just careful wear) you will get years out of it. It is hard not to love such a strong statement piece. It is certainly one of the most dramatic dresses I have seen and yet it still has a soft and sexy element to it because of that floating, light silk chiffon. The design is bold and vibrant and a mix of bright citrus colors and pinks. That pattern and color combined with those standout sleeves makes for one amazing dress. Each sleeve is a long and dramatic panel of fabric that flows almost to the ground and has little slits through which your arms slip through. They are each a full 58" in length and trail down the sides. The way they move and flow when you move while wearing the dress is just incredible. The skirt flows to the ground in a column of chiffon over an inner skirt and this long slim line is the perfect balance to the sleeves. I love the high neckline and detailed waist. The full coverage through the body really just acts to highlight those sleeves more. The contrast between boldness of the color and the beautiful cut mixed with the volume of the sleeves is incredible. Presents as excellent condition but please review the description below.
The bodice and skirt are fully lined in a matching silky rayon and the sleeves are left unlined. It closes at the back with a painted metal zipper. Boned corset interior. I see some small tears in the fabric around the seams of the arms and at the top of the shoulder. There is also a repair at the back seam a bit and a repair to one of the arm slits. With a little work this would be perfect again.

With no tag present it is of course being sold as an anonymous piece so it is a tremendous bargain. the chiffon has huge blossoms screened over its surface and these are done in a pretty combination of coral and red. The inner dress is cut very simple with a scooped neckline at both the back and the front. It is suspended from two thin straps made of the same fabric and these curve over each shoulder. From there the dress cascades to the floor in a loose and easy cut that is very easy and forgiving. It simple flows in a widening silhouette to the ground, and there are yards and yard of chiffon that make up the body and lower portion of the dress. This creates a fantastically romantic and floating effect as the silk floats over the inner lining to give the dress the feel of airiness and lightness. Over this sits the matching long cape that is cut to the full length of the dress in the back and to the waist at the front. Amazing. Excellent condition
Fully lined in nude stretch jersey. The cape is unlined. The dress closes with a back painted metal zipper and the cape has a button closure at the back of the neck.Hand finishes. Everything under the top seam of the dress is pretty flexible so I have included that seam measurement below as it is the only part of the dress that has no give

This is a super cute little dress in a light wool and gorgeous red color. It is not perfect but is still very wearable and is priced to let some girl love it and get a few great years out of it still. If memory serves me correct, this had a Mollie Parnis tag in it at one time that has unfortunately been lost. It still does have its dated Saks Fifth avenue tag present that dates it ti 1973. It is cut with shoulders that sit just off the body to suggest a bit of a sleeve. The bust and waist skims over the body and the skirt has a little flare as it nears the hem. The original belt is present and clips on to cinch in the waist, though it looks equally as great without the belt. It is not perfect but presents wonderfully.
Fully lined in a red silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The dress has some nips in the fabric here and there (photoed). It was temperature heated and specialty cleaned and the fabric stood up fabulously and is stable now. Presents as very good once on.

This is a completely amazing coat and looks to have never been worn. The condition is excellent outside of the natural patina of the vintage ties that were used. On the exterior are various men's rayon ties that have been cut and opened and then patched together to make up that fantastic patchwork quilt feel. Inside is a bright robins egg blue lining that has a big red cross stitch to heighten the quilted feel of the exterior. The coat is cut to be generous and loose through the body. The collar is neat and pounded and the buttons that run down the front are hand covered with more bits of vintage items. It is, quite simply, one of those fabulous items that you are only ever going to find in the vintage world a a real little treasure. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a blue cotton and closes at the front with snaps that are hidden under the three covered buttons. Extremely minor wear and natural patina from age to some of the ties (there is a slight thinning of the fabric on one shoulder that is the only real flaw I see and its minor - I have photoed it for you). For its age and the age of the ties its pretty fabulous. The loose cut will fit a variety of sizes

The best part about this fabulous Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers set is that you are really getting two wearable pieces. Both the inner slip dress and the outer, long sleeve buttoned piece are completely wearable as dresses in their own right. They can also be used as chic beach cover ups or as the lingerie pieces they were originally intended for. The colors are an amazing bright blue and purple print on white - classic Pucci. His famous contrasting edging is used to highlight the cut on both pieces. The nylon is fluid and soft with each piece weighing mere ounces. The inner dress is a simple slip on affair with a halter top and A-line cut, long skirt. The outer piece that acts as a robe/light coat when it is worn as a set can also be worn as a dress on its own. It buttons to close with a narrow cut through the body and long sleeves. Love it. Excellent condition
Both pieces are unlined nylon fabric. The inner dress slips on and the outer piece buttons to close with buttons on each cuff as well.

Wonderful vintage lingerie piece that you could even wear as a pretty dress since it is opaque. This is a classic 1930s Jean Harlow-esque fantasy piece. It is made of a beautiful liquid silk that is dyed a pretty iced baby blue. The top has panels on each bust and the back and little braided straps that go up and over each shoulder. The skirt flares out and is cut on the bias so it drapes perfectly into place when one. The original belt is present and is also that same fine braiding. It is in super overall condition however the color has faded here and there giving it a lovely shabby chic feel. This happens with these hand dyed pieces from this era. I have tried to capture it but it was difficult. It is in the treasure section because of this but is a real gem regardless.

This gown is absolutely incredible and very beautiful. It really is one of the most phenomenal dresses I have ever had and the workmanship is exquisite. It is constructed from yards and yards of bias cut black silk organza. Down the front of the dress is a trail of silk and velvet pink roses that are set along padded velvet stalks. The leaves along the vines are hand painted onto the silk in a gold paint and then each is detailed with a layer of gold sequins. These trail up to one side where they are met by three bands of black velvet that curve up and over the shoulders. More velvet bands the waist and the combination of textures and colors of the black is fantastic. The cut is pure old glamorous Hollywood. A fitted bodice is cut to follow every curve. It cinches in at the waist and this tops expansive, full skirts made from yards and yards of bias cut silk organza topping an inner more opaque black skirt. Everything about this gown is beautiful. The bodice is lightly boned and everything is done by hand. From the estate of a very wealthy woman this is a testament to gowns made in this time period. Presents as excellent condition but does have some small issues to mote below.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon. There is boning in the bodice. It closes with a side painted metal zipper on the interior layer and with snaps over this on the exterior layer. Hand work throughout. I see an old repair near the hem on the back top layer of the skirt. There is some repairs to the pleat work on the silk and some shattering along the very edge of the top of the bodice. I also see some slight shattering to the silk along the top layer where it closes at the side. Priced far lower then otherwise for this exquisite gown.

This beautiful and unique piece is wonderful and a personal favorite. It is an incredible late twenties, early thirties gown that is made of a fine black silk chiffon with an inner silk lining and feels heavenly once on. It is entirely cut on the bias so has that incredible drape and movement that gowns from this period have. It is incredibly sexy and yet demure at the same time. There is something very feminine about this dress that really attracts the eye that is created by the large amount of fabric that drapes over the inner lining and that wonderful applique work that runs down the front. The front and back dip with a gentle scoop and I love the shirred detailing on each strap. Such a pretty little detail The waist is defined and it has a soft fabric tie belt to add shape if you wish. The skirt below the hip is very full over the inner layer and the effect of the semi-transparent silk chiffon over the more opaque under skirt is stunning. Running down the front from the top of the bodice to almost the knee is a vivid trailing vine of flowers made of patterned silk and padded underneath so it has a 3D effect. This is all hand set and the pop of color is fantastic. An incredible early gown, very rare and very special. Excellent condition with one note to review below.
Note the gown has a Fashion Originators Guild label and its manufacturer's label "Maurent Original". The Vintage Fashion Guild notes the following on the Fashion Originators Guild: "The Guild was an association of manufacturers and retailers who pledged to only deal in original creations. If a retailer failed to abide by the provisions of the Guild, they would be included on a “red-card” which listed all “non-co-operating retailers”. Other Guild members were then forbidden to deal with them." They operated between 1932 and 1941
The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes at the side with metal zipper. Hand work throughout. I see one old repair to the netting of the skirt near the hem and one pinhole. Where the repair is the outer layer of the skirt is slightly shorter then the inner layer. The top layer has so much fabric that once on it is hard to spot any of this but is noted for accuracy.

This dress is so well made and fabulous that it just takes your breathe away. It has no label but I am sure it must have had one at some point. The body of the dress is made of a light weight silk brocade that has a dense covering of gold lame thread running through it and this gives the entire dress a glimmering gold effect. The base color of the dress is a beautiful combination of blue & green which is a pretty contrast against the gold. The skirt is cut to sit with a slight flaring volume and the waist is nipped in above that. The bodice is very sexy with a halter cut and straps that curve up and around the neck. At the back you get an expanse of bare skin except for the two straps that frame either side of your back. Each strap is adorned with a circular pattern done in gold braiding with a an alternating pattern of a blue crystal rhinestone and big gold stud set inside each circle. More braiding and gold studs, beads and little gold metal balls cover the entire front of the bodice. If you love it on the photos you will be even happier when it arrives. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a blue silk and closes with a low back zipper. The halter closes with hook & eye at the back of the neck.

This is an absolutely incredible caftan that appears to have been custom or hand made. The detailing and embellishment that has been added to this caftan is remarkable. It has a decent weight to it - the red chiffon fabric is very light in weight but all that extensive detailing on the neck and down each sleeve done in all those fabulous glass rhinestones all add up in weight. However, once it is on and it settles into place, it is not unwieldy to wear at all. I love the red used, it is a rich luxurious color and it adds to the glamorous and exotic feel of the piece. The glass crystal rhinestones are heavily applied and set in an elaborate and regal bib down the front, The extend down and over each shoulder and run down the sleeves and then circle around the cuffs. It makes for a beautiful effect and you feel very glamorous once this is on. The caftan is not labelled but it a stand out piece regardless. It is truly unique and fabulous. Excellent condition
The inner attached dress that serves as a lining is made from a red silky rayon and completely lines the dress including the sleeves but is only attached at the neck. There are two ties attached to the top layer of the dress, inside the dress at the waist area. These tie around the inner dress to give shape. Snaps close on each cuff. It slips over the head to wear with no other closures. You could easily add to the inner dress if you needed more room. The cut will fit pretty much any size. The red is more of a true red in person - it has more of a pink undertone then the orange undertone it photoed with

This is a sexy and easy to wear one shoulder, black jersey jumpsuit. This is the kind of design that would have ruled the night clubs of the seventies and it has a sexy, easy way about them. It is made from an easy to wear and care for black jersey that moves well and draped well once on the body. The legs are cut wide and full with a slight flare. Under the tiers, the interior part that you don't see, the waist is defined so it sits well once on. There are two panels of fabric with a ruffled edge finish to the hem that brings to mind the work of Stephen Burrow. This was probably a "knock off" more, inexpensive alternative to his work since this would be from the same time period. These panels sit on an angle and drape from the shoulder to cascade down over the front and back. Each ends in a tie at the top pf the shoulders so you just tie this into place. This really hides any flaws and makes you feel tall and skinny. It's the perfect , go with everything black and the jersey travels perfectly. Throw it on for day with flats or wear sky high heels at night - it is a fabulous versatile piece. Excellent condition.
Unlined and it closes with a side set zipper. It ties the top of the shoulder to close. the fabric has stretch. Note that the pants were let down at some point to gain length and you can see the slightest fold mark. The hem is finished so I have left as is bit you could easily shorten ti back if you need to.

This is the dress for when you need a bright pop of color to brighten your day. The color is even better in person then how it photoed - it is the color of a crisp green apple with pretty flowers strewn over its surface. So bright and pretty. The fabric is a washable and easy to wear and care for polyester jersey that will travel well. The cut is a classic little secretary dress from the 1960s. The top is cut simple and sleek with a pretty attached tie at the neckline. The sleeves are long and slim and simple. The skirt has some fullness to it and flares out prettily when you move. It has a suggestion of pleats but they are opened out and this looks to be deliberate as the pleats are not caught up where they sit at the waist. It is a lovely bright and happy little dress. Great condition.
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal & nylon zipper. Attached ties at the neck. There is a little area of spots at the waist seam. I have photoed it for you.

This is one of the most beautiful vintage coats I have ever had in the shop. It is made from a beautiful antique Persian silk brocade with a luxurious silk lining. The fabric is extraordinary. It has a deep golden hue to it and the closer you inspect the fabric the more you see a myriad pf other colors. Woven through the design are pinks and burgundy, copper, greens and deep, deep purples. The sleeves narrow as the near the cuffs and each has a silk covered button to close. All of the edges of the coat are finished with a band of a woven brocade, also antique. The inside is finished with a bright acid yellow silk which gives an unexpected pop of color when the coat is open. Absolutely wonderful. Truly a one of a kind, wonderful piece. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a hand set yellow silk and closes with hidden set silk covered buttons and loops. Some slight fraying to the bottom edge inherent for this type of fabric. The generous cut will allow it to fit a variety of sizes.

This is an absolute beauty of an outfit whose color combination and fit make it a standout. Both pieces are made out a felted wool dyed to a sunny egg yolk yellow. The dress is fitted to the extreme with charming little embellishments made of brilliant pink that wind over the neckline and also up one side of the skirt. The little jacket is equally fitted and zipped up to close and once zipped hugs the body. The detailing on this set is the true delight. Those pink details are made of fabric and embroidered bits and create floral vines that trail over the elaborate collar. At the side where they creep up the leg there is a pleated panel there that allows you to walk. The cuffs and collars are elaborate cut outs of fabric that have been top seamed to look like leafs and hand applied. More of these wrap around the waist of the jacket. Really a remarkable and unusual piece and in person - even better. Excellent overall condition with one small item to note below.
Fully lined in a yellow silky rayon and both pieces closes with painted metal zippers - at the back of the dress and front of the jacket. The hem of the inner dress is raw and looks to have been cut all the way around.
Note that the jacket would not close properly on the mannequin. It does do up all the way. I photoed it done up and lying flat so you can see

This is a very well made dress that was made in Italy by some small design house whose history has been lost to time. It is a striking dress with a gorgeous line to it and embellishments that really make it a striking piece. The skirt is supermodel length especially when set into a long dropped bodice. It is cut with a long inverted front pleat that allows it to look sleek when you stand still but has lots of movement and volume once you move. It gradually widens as it nears the hem. This is topped by a simple bodice. that has a deep scalloped neckline and on either side of that neckline are three huge medallions. These are made from a thin hand cut metal ring surrounded by hand placed beads and crystals. The contrast of this metallic and crystal pop against the black fabric is wonderful. The dress itself is made from a thick and heavy black mixed fabric that keep the lines very well. These early wool and silk alternatives were cutting edge at the time and the fabric used on this is very good. I never would have guessed it to be a mix had it not still retain an old style, original fabric tag. Very well made dress and quite unusual. Excellent condition

This is a wonderful little dress in the manner of Jean Desses. It unfortunately does not have a label so I am hesitant to attribute it to his work though it may be a ready-to-wear piece. Given its design and lines it certainly could pass as one and I think that for those that love his work this is a find indeed. It certainly utilizes his signature, elaborate pleat work in its construction. The fabric is an ivory silk chiffon of very fine quality and an extremely hard fabric to work into pleats like this one has been. The dress molds to the bust with beautiful pleat work and panels that curve up and around each shoulder. It is cut to follow and highlight every curve as it flows to the waist line. The skirt is entirely made from pleats and is an absolute marvel of construction. On each side of the skirt, front and back, draping, curved panels trails out from the waist and curve up and around the skirt. This perfectly highlights the yards and yards of silk that form the skirting. Even if unlabelled it certainly showcases some of Desses strongest signatures and is a stunningly beautiful piece. Excellent condition.
Lined with an ivory silky rayon. It closes with a side painted metal zipper with hand finishes and hand draped pleating. Light boning through the bodice and inner waist stay that closes with hook and eye. It is a truer, light ivory color in person

This dress is fabulous. I think it may have originally been meant to be some kind of wild lingerie piece since the fabric used is that nylon chiffon typical of lingerie during this time period but it absolutely can be worn as a dress now. It just pops on and wraps and hooks into place at the waist. The waist has an inner elastic so it is very comfortable to wear. The front plunges quite low but is wearable on its own if you are a bit daring. The skirt hugs the hips and the edges curve up and around the body for a very sexy silhouette. You could add a belt to give the waist even more definition. Over the outer surface of the dress are little sprays of silver tube beads with a touch of hand painted glitter painted onto the fabric behind each spray. More beads adorn the edges of the dress. It very unusual and quite fabulous. Excellent condition.
Lined in a red lingerie weight stretch nylon. It wraps to close with an inner tie and a hook & eye at the outer waist. There is a white elastic that runs through the waist and it is visible through the fabric but this is how it was made originally. The wrap cut and elastic waist will allow for a variety of sizes to wear it.

This stunning silk kimono has a dreamy and romantic print in shades of pinks and blues that range from the palest of colors to a deeply saturated pastel. It looks to have never been worn or used and would be perfect to use as wedding kimono or on your honeymoon, or to top an evening ensemble. Of course it also works as a lingerie piece for the boudoir as well. It is just lovely and one of the best I have seen. The print is hand screened and painted with hauntingly beautiful floral motifs. I just love the romantic feel of the huge blossoms as they trail across the surface of the kimono. These are fantastic to wear at home and you can even make these work as a dress if you add a silk slip under it and cinch the waist closed with a sash or belt. Excellent condition

This is a striking print dress in a bright clear coral with a stunning print that covers its surface from shoulder to hem. The print is scenic and done in a combination of black and white outlined in a turquoise blue - all of which pops brilliantly off the coral. It is made of a washable jersey and has a cheongsam inspired cut and line. The neckline is cut high with an interesting layered fabric collar and the sleeves are long and slim. It curves over the body and expands gently out to widen as it nears the hem. It has the classic side slit of the westernized cheongsam that is cut quite high up the leg. A tightly spaced row of decorative buttons sits just above that slit and follow the side seam to just a few inches under the arm. It is a statement maker, well made and quite wonderful. Excellent condition.

This is a gorgeous little dress has been made in the most spectacular shade of a brilliant and bright emerald green and with the prettiest lines. It is made of a fine grosgrain textured silk and the sleeveless bodice has a scooped neck with a pretty curve to it that is shaped and highlights the bust. The waist nips in and it has a spectacular rhinestone encrusted bow that sits at the center of the front for a pretty and feminine detail. The skirt is quite full and it is the perfect balance to the fitted top and cinched in waist. All of this on its own is fabulous, but the dress also has a slew of pretty details beyond this. Running down the front is a row of tightly spaced, fabric covered buttons and fabric loops that gives it a luxurious feel. Those same fabric loops also run all around the edge of the hem which is a really unusual, but very pretty, detail. The color is a more true and bright emerald green in person and the entire dress is even better then how it photoed. It is a real little beauty. Excellent condition.

This may not be a big designer name but what it lacks in pedigree it more then makes up for in style. I absolutely adore it and is is very chic and easy to wear. It is made from a mid-weight nylon feeling fabric that will move and travel very well and really resists wrinkling. This has been printed with an exotic leopard print whose pattern follows the lines of the dress to add length. It has a very simple cut with long sleeves and a shift cut that leaves the waist open and loose. You just slip it on, zip it up and go. I love the big frog knot detailing that runs along one shoulder and sits atop the slit at one side. The sleeves are cut wide and each is finished with a piped trimming above the wide cuff. Excellent condition
Unlined and zips to close with a painted metal and nylon zipper.

This is really an amazing and strong styled late forties dress that I just love. It is made of a black cotton velvet so has mote of a matte feel and flatness to the pile then its silk counterparts. Over this it has an amazing hand embroidered design in white thread that covers every square inch. This gives it a wonderful graphic feel and depth. The cut is fitted and chic in that classic pin-up kind of way. The skirt is long and lean and there are really strong almost squared off pockets that sit in a curve around each hip. This emphasizes the waist. The bodice has an unusual detail - there is a panel of fabric just under the bust so you get the illusion that you are wearing a cropped bolero over the dress but it is all built in. The neckline is wide and scooped and pretty little cap sleeves are the perfect finish. The lucky girl who gets this will be very pleased indeed as it is better in person then how it has photoed. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a back metal zipper. You can clearly see the embroidery work from the back. There are a couple of tiny darkened areas to the embroidery here and there - I photoed one for you to see but they are extremely minimal and really do not detract in any way. Pockets on each hip.

This wonderful little dress is so light and easy to wear. It just slips over the head, falls into place and you belt it at the waist for shape. The fabric is a pretty silk chiffon with a graphic black and white print over its surface. The bodice is cut loose and easy to accommodate its slip-on shape. The neck line has a V detail with a little bit of pleating to highlight it and the sleeves are just a suggestion. The skirt flares out and is bias cut so has lots of movement with you move. It is cut to be generous but in theory even a smaller girl can wear it as the feather light fabric allows you to really cinch and gather it through the waist as needed without adding bulk. It weighs ounces and is a very pretty 40s piece. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear. Has its original slip buckle belt to cinch in the waist. Hand finished

This is a remarkable and extraordinary dress that is really a testament to the one-of-a-kind-treasures that one can only find with vintage. I absolutely adore this futuristic maxi dress that is really a work of wearable art. The combination of cut, fabric and that unusual design all work perfectly together for an amazing result. The base fabric is an inky, rich black velvet formed into a simple, but striking cut. The front is scooped and the shoulders have a hint of a cap to them. This tops the A-line cut skirt and gives the dress an almost sculptural feel. Then the entire dress is densely covered with mother of pearl buttons each hand set and topped with two tiny silver beads. These create that fantastic design that highlights the cut and runs over the entire dress. All of those buttons do add weight to the dress but it is remarkable just how balanced it feels once on. It is definitely a designer piece but which is a mystery - it only has its Giorgio Beverly Hills label left. It is remarkable and an outstanding, one-of-a-kind piece from this era that I doubt you will see ever again. Excellent condition.
Fully lined with a black silk. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. I see a couple of buttons that have lost their little silver beads but no missing buttons. Hand finished. Very small, light padding in the shoulders

The workmanship and fabrication of this gown is an absolute dream. The fabric is a beautiful silk chiffon that has been dyed in hues of pinks and light lavender stripes that have a subtle gold thread that is woven through the silk in checked pattern. This gives the entire gown a subtle glow as the gold catches the light. At the waist, cuffs and neck, there is a heavy banding of hand applied silver glass tube beads that are are tightly spaced and densely applied. These weight the gown and add a remarkable contrast to the lightness of the silk chiffon. Everything about this gown feels high end and it is a shame that it has no label as I am quite sure that it is a designer piece with the level of workmanship and quality of the pieces. I love how the back dips in a low scoop to leave an expanse of bare skin and how the front mimics this pretty curve. The sleeves billow above the each bead encrusted wrist. It is nipped in at the waist by a 3 and a half inch band of bead work and the skirt and bodice fall loose and open above and below this banding. It is truly a wonderful and extraordinary gown. If you love it in the photos you will be thrilled with it in person as it did not photo anywhere near how wonderful it in in real life. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a pink silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each sleeve closes with hidden fabric covered snaps. Hand finished inside. A couple of sequins are missing on one cuff but I see no other issues with the beading. There are a couple of tiny marks on one sleeve - please see photos. Priced accordingly. Note it is a touch lighter pink feeling in person.

During the sixties there was a real movement embracing the glamour of the 1920s and little pieces like this amazing dress were the end result. They also were amazing pieces to wear while doing some of the popular dances of the day like the Twist since they had such tremendous movement. The dress is off-white in color with layers of fringe placed head to toe, even including those fabulous off-shoulder straps. Each layer is set on an angle towards the middle of the body and placed to end just above the other so you see a solid dress of fringe when you stand still and then the slightest movement causes them to explode and move. It is cut to skim over your curves and and has a bit of a burlesque or showgirl vibe. The shoulders are really fabulous and I love how they drape off. Excellent condition with one small note below
The dress is fully lined in an off-white taffeta feel rayon stretch. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note there is one small area of fringe missing as photoed - wearable still as is or you could probably steal a little from else where. Priced accordingly

This was said to have been a Halston, however it has no tags and I have not been able to verify that 100% so I am hesitant to list it as a Halston without proper verification. He certainly did do a series of tie dye caftans for his 1972 collection and this does follow the lines of what he was producing so it very well may be a true Halston. If so then you are getting it at a truly bargain price. Regardless, it is a beautiful piece of wearable art and a spectacular statement piece. The range of colors and the tie dye design that flows across the silk is divine. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it of a true caftan. All of the edges are hand finished and the cut is simple a keyhole for the neck and opening left on each side for the arms. This allows that spectacular pattern on the silk to command center stage. It presents as excellent collection but does have some flaws so please read the paragraph below.
It slips on to wear with no closures. There is a ties at the neck. On each side of the neckline the fabric has torn slightly - please review the photos. This could be corrected by widening the neckline slightly. I see two small areas of thinning to the fabric that I also photoed. These are close together on the front side about 8 inches up from the hem. Once on they don't show because of the amount and drape of fabric
