Chic and sophisticated, the true connoisseur of vintage cannot go long in collecting before a Norman Norell lands in her closet. His dresses are cut masterfully and beautifully with every line and seam placed exactly where it should be. This particular dress is a classic and I love it. It is a sleeveless wool crepe in a deep blue, with the skirt set into the waist with soft gathers so it has just a touch of volume. I love that it has hidden pockets along the side seams. I also love the little label that tells you which way is the front. Don't be fooled by it's simplicity - it is seamed and constructed to couture levels and the finishes within it are superb. A classic that will last you a lifetime and then still be relevant! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a fine grade, deep blue silk that is hand set. It closes with a side painted metal zipper. The shoulder on one side closes with hand set hook & eye. Hidden, silk lined pockets along the hip seams. There is a small repair on the back near the shoulder that is well very well done and does not distract. The interior construction is to couture standards.

An amazing testament to construction and pure joy of form, this stunning printed wool challis set by Yves Saint Laurent is perfection. The original owner was the wife of a diplomat and had many of her clothing custom made by YSL in her size. This is a wonderful opportunity to get pieces in larger sizes that are very high end - a rarity in the vintage world sometimes. Watch for several pieces from her estate to come! This two piece set consists of a loose fitting tunic style top and a swingy flat pleated skirt. Made of a fine, fluid wool silk challis, the drape is incredible. The top is box cut and that beautiful print! Gold tone buttons decorate each sleeve and sit at the hip. The skirt is classic YSL with an elastic waist. It flows over the hips and just past the knee. Love the border on the skirt that picks up the print in the top. Excellent, appears unworn condition
Both pieces are unlined. The top has hidden set buttons down the front and a gold tone button on each cuff with decorative gold buttons at the waist near one hip. The skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper and a large flat hook & button at the waist band. The waist band has elastic inside it as well. Very light padding in each shoulder.

The fabric on this Mr Blackwell Custom dress is just fabulously insane. It is a heavy weight silk satin that has been hand screened and painted with that wild design. His custom line was made to order so basically a demi-couture line and most, if not all pieces with that label are one of a kind and were fitted to the client. His clients for that portion of his business were starlets and socialites and I only wish I knew the girl that had worn this one! A vivid pink has a wild design of multiple colors and the wonderful design covering every inch of the fabric. The cut is simple and fully covers the body to balance out that sheer impact of color. The neck is high and the sleeves are long. A curved empire waist sits under the bodice an the skirt flows to the floor in a A-line column. The interior is the same shocking pink. It is wonderful! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a vivid pink silk and closes with a back, painted metal zipper. Each sleeve has a hidden set, painted metal zipper to close.

This beautiful two piece set consists of an easy fitting button front top and a swingy flat pleated skirt. From the time period around debuting his infamous Russian collection, Yves took fine wools and simple designs and then added romantic, feminine elements - here he takes the design to an abstract design on the soft wool challis base. The fabric is a silk and wool mix and the way it feels on, moves and drapes is incredible. The top is box cut and loose with buttons down the front that you can leave open as low as you dare or close completely to create a high, more severe neckline. The skirt is classic YSL with a fitted waist and upper hip. It flows over the hips and just past the knee. Excellent, appears unworn condition
Both pieces are unlined. The top buttons down the front and has a button on each cuff. The skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper and a large flat hook & eye inside the waist band. Both are tagged a vintage YSL 40 but please go by actual measurements

Love this seventies suede Dior coat with its incredible swing cut. You can just see the mastery in the cut with that incredible back especially - there is literally yards of fabric in it and yet is falls in those beautiful soft rounded pleats with no seam work holding them in place - it naturally falls like that simply because of how it is cut! An achievement with mere fabric but more so with suede! The collar is incredible - over-sized and pointed, it is the perfect design detail around the face. Huge top stitched pockets sit on either hip. Its a chic nod to the Dior of the fifties but in a thoroughly modern way that still feels modern now. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a taupe silky rayon and closes with the horn buttons as shown. Tagged a 38 behind the Dior tag but the size is very variable due to the cut. Front pockets as seen.
The cut allows it to fit a variety of sizes as it is meant to be over-sized on a smaller frame.

This is a stunning dress with an interesting mix of textures. The skirt is a puffed silk brocade that is cut to follow your curves and definitely has that old Hollywood starlet feel to it. It falls to the floor in a sleek column. This is topped by a simple scooped and sleeveless bodice that is densely covered with glossy black beads and sequins. The bodice is molded to fit the bust and the neckline is a soft rounded scoop. The back scoops quite low and the waist nips in. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in black silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note that it closes at the back properly but was too small to do so on the mannequin

This silk gown has great, and classic, lines. It is cut to fall in one sheath is the front with the more dramatic detailing at the back. The front is scooped with a black beaded neckline that is cut to sit slightly off shoulder. The bead work is quite large and has rows of dangling beads so they move a little when you do. At the back the beaded edge extends down and dips just slightly. As the gown nears the floor is widens and the back half of the skirt has an extra panel of fabric to create a pretty sweep behind you. Two bows sits just on the hip for detailing. Excellent condition but please refer to detail note below.
The gown is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. At some point the mid-section dart seams have been let out and there are slight lines on either side where it use to be taken in. I have chosen to leave it as found so the new owner can fit it back to where she needs it. The listed price take your potential alteration into consideration.

Kenzo Takada founded the Kenzo label in 1970 and it is still going strong today. It was, and is, a great success with a strong cult following and we get excited when we find amazing vintage pieces. Kenzo traveled the world and his designs show the influence of those travels. He often mixed Japanese lines with fabric from around the world and he paid as much attention to the interior of the clothes as to the exteriors. This coat has amazing lines to it. It has no closures and it manages to feel both very modern and very old and precious at the same time. The fabrics are all heavy cottons so the coat retains that flared shape when on. The inside fabric, and borders on the outside, are a striped fabric, the body a watercolor floral and each sleeve is a different pattern. It is so well made that if not for the label you could easily turn it inside out and wear it on either side. I love everything about it. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

The colors on this Emilio Pucci piece are just so pretty - they are a combination of soft pastels in an over sized design. The silk is scarf weight so the dress weighs virtually nothing. It is cut very simply with a shift shape that ends in a soft flare at the hem. The contrast is built in solely through the print and I love how the back is broken into his signature block design using the contrasting border print as edging. This is classic sixties Pucci at his best. The fabric is signed throughout and I love the easy to wear tunic shape. Presents as excellent condition.

I am crazy about the print on this 1970s dress by Maurice. It is a mix of butterflies and mushrooms on a blue sky background and that combined with the cut makes for one pretty dress. Maurice was a Pucci & Leonard contemporary in the seventies and used the same type of print work in his pieces. but tended to be a little less abstract. The dress has a gorgeous halter style bodice that is bordered with a contrasting print and has a sexy keyhole at the neckline. The skirt has a fair amount of volume and I love how it drapes fro that low angled waist line. It is a great & easy dress to wear- style it for day with flats or paired with a cropped evening jacket and heels for evening events year-round. Really a pretty and wonderful dress. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with aback metal and nylon zipper. The blue is a touch deeper in person then how it photoed.

Fabulous little outfit from the main Lapidus line that is really much better on a real girl then even how it photoed! Both the top and skirt have a pretty red floral pattern worked into the top layer of fabric that really pops against the cream backdrop. The skirt is simple and fitted with a flat waist band. The top has a more loose and easy cut with a wide set neckline that buttons on the front. The sleeves are left unlined and have a bit of pretty volume. It has its original belt for the perfect finish. It looks fabulous when worn together but also is very versatile ans separate. Excellent condition
Both pieces are lined in a non printed layer of the same cotton silk voile as the top layer. The top slips on with a button at the neck. Each cuff has two fabric covered buttons and loops. The skirt closes with a painted metal zipper and flat hook & eye on the waistband

This is a perfect transition set and so versatile as you can wear it together or break it up and style it an infinite amount of ways as separates. The skirt is a wonderful design with a double tier. It is made of a cotton with a hint of crspness to it. The two layers sit atop of each other with the inner layer set slim over the hips and then it flares out tot he lower hem. The top layer sits over this and has a perfect amount of volume. The tunic is a light weight semi-sheer cotton voile fabric and is actually cut ling enough that you could even wear it separately as a dress if you wish! The entire neckline has been finished with an elasticized ruffle so it can be worn off the shoulder as I have shown. Here it serves as a fabulous peasant style top but it would also look amazing worn loose and easy on its own or belted for more shape. I love the muted tones and chic colors that will really work practically all year round. Excellent condition.
The inner layer of the skirt as as the lining and the top is unlined. The skirt has a flat waistband and closes with a fine, painted metal zipper and button at the waist. The top skips on with elastic at the cuffs and neckline.

This is a remarkable little dress. At first glance you are struck by the wonderful graphic feel of that black and white design and as you get closer you realize that it is created entirely form teeny tiny little sequins set in different patterns and densities amongst sections of embroidery. These really give the dress an extraordinary texture and a upscale patchwork feel. The cut is very flattering. It is a little A-line shift that mimics the feel of a sixties piece. The modern fabrics and sequins keep it very light - much lighter then you would expect when you see it. It is very easy to wear and very striking. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Based on examples I have found I am dating this from 1965 when his fascination with dots seems to have really exploded full force through his collection. Here we see 4 variations of the dot used to maximum effectiveness. The top portion of the dress is a solid black and sleeveless. This balances out the skirt which is full and to the floor. The original belt holds the 4th dot and I love how they graduate in size and density from the belt to the final huge dot pattern that circles the hem. Made of his signature knit poly jersey it is easy to wear and care for. It is very rare to see apiece with its belt. A magnificent statement dress and highly collectible. Excellent condition.
Unlined and closes with a painted back zipper. The belt is backed with leather. The fabric around the round buckle shows signs of separating from the backing but still presents well.

The earlier Moschino pieces are so much fun! They have that bit of wit that Franco Moschino so successfully infused into them. His clothes are always cut well, due to his tailoring beginnings and this balances out the sometimes outrageous designs. This little fitted shift has a bold black and white dot print. Onto the front are huge appliques of fruit that pop off the dotted background in vivid colors. They include cherries, a lemon, orange and watermelon slice. It is a definite showpiece and so fun! Presents as excellent condition.
Fully lined in a white silky rayon and closes with a back zipper. There are a couple of teeny storage marks on the dots pn the front - super size the picture and look between the orange and watermelon. They do not distract at all.

Studded pieces from the 1940s are almost impossible to find and often examples that you do find will just have a touch or detailing of stud work. This spectacular Fred Block suit is like the holy grail as it is completely covered in hand set silver studs with a denser application of them on the front of the jacket. The cut is perfectly simple and perfectly feminine with a beautifully fitted silhouette. The skirt skims over the hips with the slightest of A-lines. The jacket is cut in a classic forties design with a trim and fitted waist and shoulders that are set square. Over the entire surface of the silk wool crepe are tiny hand set silver studs, each individually placed in prong settings and then hammered flat by hand. They are evenly spaced to completely cover both pieces. When they hit that gray portion of the jackets shoulders they are set in a more dense pattern that really catches the light. One of the most striking and unusual 1940s suits I have ever had. Excellent condition
The skirt is unlined and closes with a side unpainted metal zipper. The jacket is lined in a silk and closes with fabric covered buttons as shown. Hand finsished and properly finished buttonholes. I see no missing studs.

This early 1950s set is still so chic and I love that mix of the fitted bombshell dress with the full and dramatic coat. The coat is cut in a way that almost reminds me of petals- especially in the way that each sleeve and shoulder is constructed. The dress is It a loose cut, voluminous draped affair constructed entirely of a brilliant green heavy silk satin Curved lines and dramatic buttons add a rich feel and then lined in an olive silk to match the sash of the dress. The dress has a sculpted fitted cut with a curved and seamed bodice. The waist nips in and the skirt is fitted. Presents as excellent condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a green silky rayon. The coat has no closures. The dress closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note that there are some small flaws that when on do not distract but are present when you really look. There is a faint darkening to the fabric around the upper collar on the coat and this also appears on the skirt middle front and back - I believe this is from storage and being left folded for a long time. I could not capture it with the camera. Again once one you will not notice this at all. I have priced the set down accordingly

Once in a while a dress comes along that just takes your breath away and this is one of those times. This is a spectacular dress and capelet ensemble that I would bet my last vintage dollar once also had a designer label from one of the important houses of the day. The workmanship and quality and sheer beauty of it are mind boggling. The fabric is the star here with a green silk floral print base that has a soft metallic sheen worked through it. Over this are vertical bands that start at the hem and go up the entire dress. Each band is a wide swath of a very fine, metallic silk brocade that is edged in silver rows of tube beads and has large 3D bead flowers hand formed and running in a tightly spaced design around the dress within each row. This adds a substantial amount of weight to the dress but once on it is perfectly balanced and feels far from heavy. The cut is simple and fitted with wide straps and a straight across neckline. The cape just covers the shoulders and is an absolute gem - almost like topping the dress with a jewel rather then fabric. The construction is marvelous and it is really and truly a special pieces. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in silk - silk taffeta through the body and cape and a silk satin through the bodice. Ribbon finished edges. Lightly boned through the bodice. The cape closes with a fabric covered snap and the dress with a back painted metal zipper. Hand finished interior. You could potentially tuck down the straps and wear this strapless as well.

Absolutely stunning silk net full length dress by Mollie Parnis, who one of my favorite American designers! The dress is from her companies high end, demi-couture line and it shows. It is a fantastical combination if silk with a velvet pattern fused to the fabric and of course that feather detailing at the cuffs and neck! Each sleeve and the collar is finished with a a beautiful circle of glossy black feathers giving the gown a truly dramatic feel. The waist is defined by a wide silk sating ribbon that gives the perfect contrast. The sleeves are left unlined to counter balance the fabric that covers you from head to toe. It is really the fabric that is the star after the feather treatment - it is a light silk chiffon that has an abstract dot pattern of fused velvet. I love the contrast this creates. That textural effect paired with the high drama of the feathers make for a real show stopper. Excellent condition

This Pucci is particularly special as it still retains its belt with its beaded finish. These belts (which we have seen worn as necklaces) were made by Coppola e Toppo and are well documents. I have seen these sold on their own for several hundred dollars! Here we are lucky enough to have both the belt and the spectacular dress that it was made for. This absolutely gorgeous Pucci dress has a superb citrus color palette and is made of his signature lightweight silk jersey. It was custom screened with one of his infamous designs. Skinny sleeves and a fitted bodice that continues down into a chic pencil skirted sheath. This is a classic Pucci silhouette and is instantly recognizable. The entire dress weighs ounces and is wonderfully bright and happy in feel as all great Pucci's are! Excellent condition.

I love these terry cloth, toweling pieces from Pucci. They are fabulous when you go on vacation and an easy way to add an instant pop of vintage glam to the beach or pool. Manish Arora is steadily gaining a following for his elaborately embroidered pieces. From a few seasons ago this is a striking dress that is a great example of his aesthetic. It is very structured and shaped with a curved silhouette. I lvoe the cut in neckline and the way the dress skims over the body really showcasing the design. This is a gorgeous maxi dress from Anne Klein with a fabulous and easy to wear cut. It has a real seventies chic feel to it, almost Halston-esque. The wearer is able to move and be superbly comfortable, never worrying about getting wrinkled or being inappropriate or uncomfortable - this made these the perfect look to entertain in. It buttons to the waist with a pointed collar. The sleeves are full and balloon above the buttoned cuff. The skirt literally has yards and yards of fabric - when you pick it up it seems very heavy because of all that fabric but once on it balances perfectly. The fabric itself though is not heavy or thick at all. It is cut supermodel length and is quite dramatic! Excellent overall condition
The top is unlined and the skirt has a lining of a nude, lingerie weight jersey. It has an elastic waist and buttons at the front and cuffs. There are a couple small repairs on the sleeve near the cuff and near the hem - they all get lost in all the fabric and are only noticeable when you lie it out and look for them.

This is a very very rare and early Betsey Johnson piece from her 80s "punk" label. It really should be in a museum as it is such an amazing representation of the eighties and a fabulous example of her work during this time period. It is cut from a t-shirt weight, cotton stretch jersey so really will hug and fit you through the torso. The sleeves are stupendously dramatic with a huge puff shoulder and skinny fit through to the wrist. The low drop waist gets an equally dramatic treatment with another exaggerated fullness that mirrors the shoulder built in at each hip. Each ankle gets super skinny so can be worn up on the calf like I have styled it to really take advantage of the volume above, or wear them low down at the ankle. It is simplicity itself and yet extremely dramatic when on. You will not see this versions of her label often and to find such an extraordinary design is marvelous! A very rare, early, show stopping piece! Excellent condition.

A light silk chiffon base makes this gown much lighter on than it may appear with that profusion of sequins. The way it is cut is very old Hollywood with full coverage form neck to hem. This allowed Ruben to take full advantage of the fabric and make that spectacular design. Vertical rows of sequins are hand sewn into place - they begin at the top as a glossy black, change to a burgundy that matches the silk underneath and finally, finish in a iridescent deep green. The overall effect - especially at a distance is really extraordinary! Panis was known for his flair for drama (he started off designing costumes for showgirls in Las Vegas before working for Galanos and Norell) and his gowns were worn by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Zsa Zsa Gabo. This is an excellent example of his work and very well made. Excellent condition.

This recent dress by Mary Katrantzou is fabulous. She has really become a darling in the fashion world and her pieces are favorites amongst the street style set as the are quite beautiful. This particular dress and design was an exclusive for Harvey Nichols so is a definitive smart investment piece as well as a great piece to wear now. Made of a good grade silk with a huge jeweled design screened onto it. The fit skims the body and it is a definite statement piece! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

What a beautiful, early 1960s silk maxi dress from Oscar De La Renta! It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with that intricate pattern making it appear like it is a brocade or something along that line, but the fabric is actually a beautiful silk chiffon. The pattern is fantastic - intricate little designs are set in black frames that cover the entire dress. The upper bodice is cut slightly full and the waist just an inch higher then normal. It has a extravagant tie collar and this bit of extra fabric is mirror at each wrists dramatic and pretty ruffled finish. I love how the sleeves have been left unlined giving it a touch of contrast despite it bing the same fabric. Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in a black silk except for the sleeve which are unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and each cuff closes with hand set fabric covered snaps above the ruffle at the wrist. The tie at the neck is attached.

Love this little Dolce and Gabbana dress with its combination of silk and sequins! The photos really don't do it justice in capturing how wonderful the two fabrics are in person and how they play off of each other. The silver sequins are very fine and set on a very fine backdrop so they really have a supple feel. This goes perfect with the beautiful silk that is used above and below. Both the skirt and top have a ruffled gather along where they meet the sequins - a very unusual treatment that works. The skirt is very full and flirty. At the back their signature big chunky zipper offers a nice contrast and the open slit between the zipper and the closure at the neck gives a glimpse of skin. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
The sequins are back in a silk satin and the bodice and skirt lined in a red silk chiffon. It closes with the zipper at the back and a hook & eye at the neck. No size tag so please check measurements.

Sweet little pink silk shift using a play ion one of the Pucci archive prints in pretty pinks. It is then taken up a both as the entire surface is covered with a layer of densely spaced clear sequins. This gives the dress an almost alive feel as the wearer moves and catches the light. It is suspended by the shoulders with the tinniest of silk straps. The bust is defined by a curving seam and the skirt falls to the knee from there. Very simple in cut to allow the pretty print to shine. So very 90s. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

A wonderful and vibrant dress by Leonard. Leonard Paris is a label that was a contemporary of Pucci and very sought after. This one is a delicious combination of vivid tropical colors on an inky black backdrop. It is cut to skim over the body and fall softly over the hips where it widens out. This widening out at the hem mimics the same effect on each sleeve - the fall just below the elbow and are remarkably wide by the time the reach the cuffs! I love the soft draped neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs and hem. It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut is very flattering. The dress is a strong statement piece and still so very chic now. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Wonderful dress by Leonard of Paris done in a stunning array of colors. Leonard Paris is a label that was a contemporary of Pucci. Leonard dresses tend to be the softer, more draped version of the Pucci look. This one is a delicious combination of vivid florals on a bright backdrop. It is cut on a generous A-line and the skirt flares out with lots of fabric in it for movement that skims over the waist and hips. I love the simple collared neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs, neckline and hem. It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut is very flattering and forgiving on a variety of sizes! Excellent overall condition
Unlined and closes with a hand set, back metal zipper. There are some very faint areas on the print here and there that have lightened, a teeny touch under the arms and a smudge near the back hem. You really have to lie it flat and look - once on you don't see. Priced accordingly so it a steal!

What a dramatic set! Originally meant as a lingerie this has become one of Zandra's signature pieces and I have seen girls wear this out as a full on evening ensemble. It is two separate pieces made of a fine synthetic silk that is hand washable and comprised of an in inner dress and a floor length, dramatic pleated piece that just screams Zandra Rhodes! I have had this set in two different solid colors but this is the first one with a printed inner dress as well as the exterior piece being printed that one I have seen. Zandra is renowned for her use of design and pattern and this piece really allows her absolute genius for cut to shine through on its own. The cut of the outer jacket is astounding - tight knife pleats on bias cut fabric that are sculpted to form that incredible back and draped shoulder. An extravagant ruffle runs down the front and it ties just under that ruffle so the line is not broken. The under dress ion this one is fuller and has an almost caftan feel to it with a tie at the waist and deceptively full cut and ribbons to suspend it from the shoulders. The entire bottom half of the skirt is printed. Very versatile set. Excellent condition
Both pieces are unlined. The dress slips over the head with a tie through the waist, the jacket ties at the front. There are some small white marks on the dress near the shoulder - they get lost in the draping once on.

This Emma Domb dress is just so pretty and quite sexy too! A stunning early example of the kind of dreamy dresses the company made. It is somewhat deceptive in that at first glance you think it has a rather full skirt, but it is actually quite fitted and the fullness is from a partial skirt of fabric set along each hip and around the back. The actual skirt of the dress is very fitted and the fabric over it is draped in soft curved - a lovely contrast the fuller half skirt that surrounds it. This is a particularly flattering cut and really evokes that old Hollywood feel. The bodice is very pretty with gathered fabric and a lovely halter style strap that sweep up and around the neck. At the bust you see a peep of nude cotton lace interspersed with rhinestones peaking through the chiffon It is really wonderful and on a real girl really comes to life! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a white silky rayon and the inner edges are ribbon finished. The skirt has an additional tulle lining built in. Light boning through the bodice. Closes with a back, painted metal zipper.

Per Spook was a Norwegian fashion designer who had a Parisian fashion house form 1977 to 1995. He did custom work and a small line of ready to wear. He was awarded Aiguille d'Or (The Golden Needle) in 1978, and Dé d'Or (The Golden Thimble) in 1993. Prior to opening his own studio he worked at Dior, YSL and Feraud. I believe this is boudoir wear due to tits sheerness. It has a definitive throw back to the forties in feel and could easily be worn for evening wear with the correct undergarments. I love the extravagance of the ruffled bodice and dramatic sleeve. The waist is elastic for an easy fit and the skirt cascades to the floor in a column of sheer chiffon. Excellent condition.

Adolfo apprenticed at Balenciaga and you can see that influence in the drape and fabric choice of this gown. His clients included Gloria Vanderbilt, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Nancy Reagan & the Duchess of Windsor. His pieces reflect that society lady feel and they tend to be strong with a certain sense of classiness to them. I love the thick slipper satin used on this gown. It gives the dress just the right amount of weight tomake the subtle draping work perfectly and it also glimmers like somethign alive once on. The top bodice is cut full with a dolman sleeve that narrows to zipped cuffs around the wrists. The front neckline is scooped while the back is accented by a draped panel that lies low and leave the upper back exposed. the skirt is cut supermodel long and lean and there is a surprising amount of fabric hidden in the folds and drapes. Stunning. Excellent condition

Carolyne Roehm worked at Oscar de la Renta and you can see that influence in this gown. This is a label you don't see often - she only had her company from 1985 to 1991 so when we find one we are pretty excited. This is a great example of her work and it is well made and has that sort of timeless chic that she put into her work. It is cut with a soft, romantic feel. The top portion is black chiffon and gathered in curved drapes at the front and back. Each sleeve is left unlined and contrast is created above the gathered cuffs set off by a row of fabric covered buttons. The skirt is soft and full and the use of black silk organza gives an interesting contrast to the chiffon. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a high grade black tissue silk. The skirt has a two layers of the organza over the inner lining. A wide built in band of stiffening is worked into the interior layer's skirt hem. It closes with a hidden set side zipper. Each cuff has 7 fabric covered buttons and loops that are functional. Lightly boned through the bodice. Well made and since it is entirely silk, very light.

The color of this dress is amazing - a really pure and true tangerine coral that I love. It has a fabulous graphic pattern worked onto the base silk chiffon fabric to create great diamonds that cover the entire surface. Iridescent sequins cover every square inch of the dress including the silk sleeves. These are laid side by side in a dense pattern that leaves no square inch uncovered but allows maximum flex and drape so the fabric almost seems to come alive. It literally shimmers with every move and creates a fabulous effect. The cut is very simple to off set the impact of the color and sequins - its a simple shift shape that flows to the floor and widens as it nears the hem. Each sleeve mimics that and has a lovely width to to them. Excellent condition.
Lined through the body in a silky rayon, softer version of the same color. The sleeves are left unlined. Closes with a painted metal zipper at the back.

The Fete label was produced between 2002 and 2009 making this from somewhere in between (note that this is taken fromt he corporate history on the Miyake website - its is oft reported elsewhere that the Fete line starts in 2004 but the time line on the website says 2002). Just in case you’d like to know how they were made, it involves heat-treating polyester jersey to permanently retain washboard rows of horizontal, vertical or diagonal knife-edge pleats. The fabrics are cut and sewn first, then sandwiched between layers of paper and fed into a heat press, where they are pleated. The fabric’s ‘memory’ holds the pleats after the garments are liberated from their paper cocoons. This is a great example of that and can be worn as a micro mini (if you dare) or a tunic. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

An absolutely stunning gown in every way, this Oldfield silk gown is just unbelievable. Bruce Oldfield is of course best known for dressing Lady Diana but has dressed countless other celebrities and women of influence. This dramatic and beautiful gown is made of a high quality silk chiffon that has been screened with a beautiful floral print that absolutely pops off the black backdrop. The matching shawl or scarf is made of the same fabric and is incredibly long making it a dramatic counterpart to the simple, but perfect gown. The bust of the gown is shaped and hand gathered to fit and mold to the bust. From there the skirt flows tot eh floor in a cascade of bias cut silk that is as light as air. There are yards of fabric in it so with every move the effect of the fabric swirling around you is wonderful. Really a beautiful gown in every way! Excellent, looks like new off the showroom floor condition.

I love these sets from the legendary Emilio Pucci. They are a classic and so versatile since you are getting two amazing pieces in one shot. Plus they makes you think of far off tropical luxuries & lazy days spent by oceans with umbrella topped drinks in hand. Both of the pieces in this ensemble are superbly simple in cut, allowing the beauty of that custom print to shine. The colors are beautiful ocean, tropical blue hues - a mix of turquoise highlighted with vivid lemons and pinks, all edged in fine black borders and signed throughout with that famous Pucci signature. The skirt is one of his long signature cuts that is made of a thicker twill weight cotton which allows it to hold its spectacular shape when on. It buttons to close all down one side with matching fabric covered buttons. This allows you to leave it open for some leg to show if you wish. The top is a soft cotton voile that has a hint of transparency - the use of different fabrics within the same family give it an extra bit of interest and depth. Being separates makes it insanely easy to mix and match for all four season. Excellent condition.
Both piece are unlined and hand finished. The skirt closes with a series of fabric covered buttons and a hidden snap at the waist. The top has buttons at the front and on each cuff. The set still has its extra buttons sewn along an interior seam.

A gorgeous Geoffrey Beene dress with an amazing waffle weave boucle and fringe detailing. It zips down the front under that amazing fringe detail so once on you have the impression that it has no closures. The bodice skims over the body with short sleeves that have that same fringe treatment. The waist nips in slightly and the skirt is demure and close to the legs. The fabric is the true standout - the knit has a distinctive 3D waffle pattern that really gives the dress visual interest - it has enough weight to help hold the shape and structure of the dress but is comfortable to wear. Classic Geoffrey Beene! Excellent condition.
Lined in a white silky rayon through the bodice and a silk organza through the skirt. Closes with a hidden set painted metal zipper at the front. Dots are always chic and this little Dior plays with dots and graphics with its fabulous black and white print. The fabric is a weave - it reminds me of the fabric used on bandage dresses but without the stretch. Woven through it are two patterns of dots. The colors are reversed on the top from the bottom so you get a very chic effect. The front crosses and nips in at the waist and the hip has a structured peplum panel to give you the full hourglass effect. A fitted pencil skirt is the perfect finish. Excellent condition.

Andre Courreges did a series of chic separates around this time period and kept them all in soft pastel tones so you could mix and match. They were what the cool girls wore during the day and were fast and easy dressing. This set is in a beautiful smoky blue. The pants are are cut straight and they are very well made. Made from butter soft suede this wonderful suede dress is cut beautifully and is a rare example of the work that Jean Muir was doing in suede and leathers. The collar is bold and top stitched to frame the face. An attached tie at the neck adds a dramatic seventies shape and feel. I love the hand applied patchwork cut out leaf that has been done on a bright contrasting blue on the upper bodice and on each sleeve. It really pops against the darker blue-black base. The cut is simple and chic - it slips over the head and it has its original belt to give shape. The skirt flares out to an A-line. Very seventies and very rare. Excellent , museum quality condition
Unlined and slips over the head to wear. It has been cleaned by a leather specialist. Handwritten tag to denote a custom piece. Marked a UK vintage 12. Note that it is generous through the body and meant to be cinched in.

The silk on this dress is a stunning deep midnight blue that seems to glow from within because of the fabric choice. It is made from a sensual feeling, heavy liquid silk and the draping effect this fabric creates is what makes this dress spectacular. It has the feel of old Hollywood in its cut and line and the dress is super model long. The dress is completely cut on the bias and once you slip it on it simply drapes into place and molds itself around your curves. It has a strong nod to the late thirties in its design and the fabric choice only heightens this comparison. The top has full, draped sleeves that extend out from the waist line in an almost cape like fashion. Both the front and back of the bodice are gathered into a V with the gathers all coming together down the center line under that V. The back has a flower detail created from the silk that gives it just a touch of added weight so the V there is pulled slightly down and back, exposing a little more skin at the nape of the neck. The waist is seamed but is still cut on the bias so is very comfortable. The skirt is wonderful and it flows from the waist to the ground and beyond, draping about your feet. You can wear it with the belt and allow the top to drape more over that or loose and long for a more unstructured feel. Excellent condition.
Unlined and completely cut on the bias. Slips on. Has two belts - one in the same silk and the other is covered in rhinestones. I layered them over each other for the photos of the dress on the mannequin. The given length of the skirt will come up if worn with the belt. Tagged a 36 but the bias cut makes it incredibly flexible in sizing if you wear it without the belt. If you wear it with the belt the waist will fit up to 26" only unless extended

A fabulous metallic thread maxi dress with an underlying "peacock" pattern and gold thread woven through the fabric! The skirt has yards of fabric in it and cascades to the floor. The silk chiffon is lightweight and the excess fabric really allows the skirt to swirl around you as you move. The top its over a defined waist and skims over the torso. Each sleeve is left unlined and has a touch of fullness before being caught up in a cuff at the wrist. The fabric is the exact same as another Oscar de la Renta dress I have listed on the site so I believe this to be an Osacr as well! Excellent condition.
Fully lined, except for the sleeves, in silky black rayon. Closes with a back painted nylon zipper. Each cuff closes with hidden snaps. It is unlabelled
