• The twin of this dress walked the runway for Fall 2004 and it is a very famous Valentino dress. 
• It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• Pierpaolo later remade this dress as an homage that was almost identical. I have had that dress as well and there are key differences. This is the original version.
• The dress is strapless and made out of a red silk in the signature Valentino red.
• The dress is made out of long set, vertical panels that run from the top of the bodice all the way to the hem. At the front the silk is gathered into both sides of the middle panel. The dress is shaped around the body by manipulating the width of the panels.
• One of the key signatures of this dress are the two large silk flowers that sit on either side of the hip. On the original dress these actually top pockets that you can slip your hands into. The pockets on this dress have their original tacking in place.
• As the dress falls over the body and near the skirt panels wide. There are also triangle shaped silk panels added in around the back of the skirt. This is what allows the skirt to flare out and move so dramatically when you walk.
• The dress is fully lined in a red silk with an inner built-in lightly boned corset piece that zips on its own. The dress zips to close over that with a hidden set zipper that follows one of the seams. I see some minor stress to the fabric on either side of the zipper and couple light dots on the front panel. Please see the photos after the label shot.
• There is no size tag present. The dress is very tiny and there is no give to the measurements. It would be very difficult to let this one out as the marks would show on the fabric.

• The twin of this dress that was shown over a nude stretch top walked the runway for Look 80 Fall 2016 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
• It was also featured in an editorial that season.
• The dress is incredibly beautiful and it would make an amazing wedding dress for the bride looking for a non-traditional choice or as an alternative dress in a more extended wedding celebration. And of course it could also be worn to any event.
• The entire dress is made from a pale nude tulle netting that has just a hint of a pink undertone to it. It is lined in a matching silk so that is so opaque enough to wear.
• Scattered over the tulle of the entire dress are little combination of a silver sequin with a little clear bead topping the sequin. These catch the light from every angle and make the entire dress glitter in a pretty and subtle way.
• The dress is suspended from tiny net straps that curve up and over each shoulder. The front scoops across and the the upper back is bare.
• He has attached a panel of the netting all the way around the neck line and as it curves towards the back, it gets wider so it drapes down the sides and just passed the waist at the back. It is such a pretty detail.
• The waist curves inwards and the skirt is cut to flare outwards from there. It is very wide and full by the time it reaches the hem. Under the top layer, there are three more layers of netting in the middle of the three layers has a double hem that helps hold the volume even more. Inside all of that is the opaque silk layer. The fabric choice combined with the built-in under skirting helps to give the skirt its structure to keep the volume and shape that you see.

• The twin of this dress was shown as Look 7 for the Fall 2024 atelier collection
• It was made under the creative direction of Prabal Gurung
• He told Vogue that "We've always had a small private client business". He had soft-launched his Aterlier collection the previous year to bring more clients pieces that are focused around specific occasions and more traditional silhouettes. The Fall 2024 collection was the first publicly shown Atelier collection from Prabal. 
• This is an absolutely beautiful dress that showcases his love of a more traditional silhouette. Even though it is a modern piece it has that perfect feel of the 1950s Hollywood Golden Era in its silhouette.
• The dress is made out of a pale nude net that has a touch of pink to it. Little black chenille dots are fused onto the fabric for the perfect little detailing.
• The bodice is strapless and I love the soft curve to the top edge. Inside there is a boned and cupped built in corset to hold you perfectly in place. It is fitted and the waist comes in and then curves back out slightly.
• The skirt is phenomenal. There is a little peplum of the tulle with netting underneath that sits just under at the waist and then it falls in two more tiers to the floor. The middle tier has a a double layer of tulle under it and then there are more built-in layers under the entire skirt.The innermost layer is a more stiffened net that has bands of stiffening placed horizontally around the hem and through the body of the skirt to hold its volume. I did not add any crinolines under the dress. All the volume you see is because of the built-in construction.
• The back of the skirt trails out slightly behind you and is cut longer than the front.
• The fabric used is still very light so even with the intricate construction of the dress is still feels light and comfortable to wear.
• I love the little bow that falls down one hip. And I love that this is added with a little brooch pin so that if you choose to not wear it you can take it off completely or you can move it to where it suits you best.
• The dress is fully lined in netting as described above with a full built-in corset that is boned and cupped. A waist stay inside hooks to close. The corset closes with its own zipper and then the dress zippers to close over that with a hidden set zipper. The dress appears to have never been worn.

• The twin of this skirt was shown as part of Look 93 for the Pre-Fall 2015 presentation.
• It was made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. 
• This was an interesting collection because they collaborated with both British textile designer Celia Birtwell, the ex-wife of the late Ossie Clark and the woman behind his floral prints in the 1970s, and the Italian Pop Artist Giosetta Fioroni. Many of the pieces, like this skirt, were embroidered with stars, planets and swirling constellations.
• Marion Cotillard wore the full look that season and Phoebe Fox also wore the twin of this skirt. 
• The skirt is beautiful to see in person. The base has an inner layer of blue netting topped by a black layer of netting. Over that is a layer of a more open weave black net. That top layer is covered with embroidered stars, planets and word appliques. The result is a beautiful and everywhere you look there is something to see.
• The waist is banded with grosgrain that folds inwards with all the fabric of the skirt gathered on the outside for a slight ruffle feel at the top of the waist.
• It falls from there and has quite a bit of room so is an easy fit. It widens out as it nears the hem. There is quite a lot of fabric in the skirt and it moves beautifully around you when you move. 
• The inner layers of tulle act as the lining and it has a hidden set zipper at the side. The skirt has a touch of transparency but the layers and applique make it wearable. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this skirt walked the runway for the Fall 2019 season for Look 36.
• It was made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri
• Vogue's Sally Singer noted that; "Chiuri sought inspiration for this collection from Britain’s postwar Teddy Girls, those working-class, rock ’n’ roll–loving beehived vixens who hit the clubs in a mix of men’s Edwardian jackets, full skirts, blue jeans, leather, velvet, and eyeliner galore. She was struck by the similarity in silhouette and the optimistic excess that characterized Christian Dior’s designs of the same period. She was also moved by Yves Saint Laurent’s addition to the Dior pantheon of a men’s black leather jacket for women in the late 1950s. So, heritage, hipsters, and herstory."
• This skirt is one of the ones that felt most like a heritage piece from that show while still having a modern flare.
• The skirt is made out of a black silk net and the fabric choice is what allows it to hold its fullness.
• Onto the tulle is an extensive pattern created from hand applied beads and sequins. A thin band at the waist cinches it in and then the skirt is full under that. It will fall to about mid-calf to the ankle depending on your height.
• At the front the skirt is fully split and open from just under the band at the waist to the hem. It wraps over itself a touch at the split and there is a little flat bow at the waist for added detail.
• This open split lets you can layer it over just about anything. You can take a simplest little dress or plain skirt that you already have, pop this over it, and all of a sudden you have an amazing and elaborate look.
• The entire skirt has been appliqued with little floral sprigs that are made of hand set metal coils, tiny seed beads, sequins and MOP finished paillettes. All of the work appears to have been done by hand.
• It is made out of two layers of the black netting and meant to have a slight transparency. It closes with snap and hook an eye at the waist and is open down the front. It looks to have never been worn or worn very little. It is a very little special piece that has a huge array of styling options.
• There is no size tag present so please go by the listed measurements below.

• This skirt is a production piece for the shops from the Spring 2019 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
• On the runway a dress shown for Look 60 had similar a beaded design over its surface. We have added that runway reference for you here.
• Vogue succinctly said that "In a season when there’s been so much talk about the appreciation of couture dressmaking and craft skills, Piccioli just took it to the ultimate. It was as accomplished, as complexly cut—and as simple as that."
• The high level of craft put into a hand embroidered and beaded piece like this is evident in the price tag. The original cost of the skirt was £12,285.
• The skirt is outstanding and is beautiful to see in person. There is an inner silk skirt that snaps into place around the inner band of the waist. I love that this gives you the choice to wear the skirt fully opaque, or you can snap the lining out and have the skirt be more transparent.
• Over the inner lining is a layer of black netting and then the top layer combines tulle with insets of a light grey and deep dusty blue grey silk chiffon. Silver metallic thread and tiny silver beads run in swirling designs over the entire skirt. And if you look carefully, you see that there is one unexpected little pink pop of silk chiffon. I love that unexpected detail.
• The waist is banded with a black grosgrain that folds inwards. The inner skirt snaps onto that band so that the snaps are hidden from view.
• The skirt falls from there and has quite a bit of room through the hips so it is an easy fit. It widens out as it nears the hem. There is quite a lot of fabric in the skirt and it moves beautifully around you when you move. 
• The black silk lining snaps into place as described above and both the lining and outer skirt have a zipper at the side. Without the lining snapped in the skirt has a touch of transparency. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• This beautiful dress is from the Spring 2018 collection and it was made on a limited production.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
• Its twin was worn by Imogen Poots and also by a guest at the Couture collection that season. We have included reference photos for you to see how gorgeous this is once on the body.
• The dress is made out of a black tulle that sits over an inner black silk chiffon base. The netting has gold metallic embroidered thread applied in long stripes over the dress. Hand Zone onto the gold thread are tiny little sequins in a rainbow of colours. This creates an incredible subtle burst of colour across the entire dress.
• The netting on the bodice crosses over itself at both the back and front to create that pretty neckline that sits wide across to the shoulders.
• The little cap sleeves are very full with elastic and a ruffle at their ends. You can see in the reference photos that the sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulders and it dramatically changes the look of the dress. I love this extra versatility that this gives the dress.
• The skirt is very full and explodes outwards from the waist. All of the volume you see is created by multiple layers of netting and silk stacked over each other in layers. I have not added any extra crinolines underneath for the shots.
• Pretty velvet ties fall from each shoulder and they are set in a bow at the top of the shoulder for the perfect dreamy finish.
• The dress is fully lined in black silk and closes with a hidden set side zipper. It appears to have never been worn.

• The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 2001 collection and both this purple and a black version were shown on the runway.
• The dress was made under the creative direction of Thierry Mugler.
• Mugler was a masterpiece of draping and cut and this is a fantastic example of that. It is cut with Mugler's masterful eye and attention to detail.
• The dress is extremely difficult to show on a dress form because of the cut through the upper body and arms so please refer to the runway photos for reference. It is spectacular on the body.
• The dress is made out of a purple silk crepe mix that has a slight texture to it. 
• A high collar wraps around the neck and the collar is detailed with a silver metal mesh. Onto the mesh are various sized rhinestones set in silver bases. All of them are stitched on one top spot only so they have this incredible little bit of movement.
• A long keyhole at the front open in a V all the way to an empire set seam at the waist. At the back there is an open slit down to the waist seam so you get a flash of skin there as well.
• The waist is defined with a wide band of the same purple fabric and I love how it curves upward at the front to meet the bottom of the keyhole there.
• The skirt flows over the hips and gently widens out as it nears the hem. There is a high slit up the centre front seam which lets a bit of a leg to show when you walk.
• The sleeves are spectacular. They are split on an angle coming out from the collar. The open split runs all the way down to just above the elbow and then they narrow down to the cuff from there. This gives them an incredible amount of movement around your arms.
• Each cuff ends in the same highly detailed mesh and rhinestone combination that you see on the collar of the dress and I love how this ties everything together. The cuffs are set on an angle where they fall past the hymn of the sleeve with the mesh ending in a point so that it goes down and over the top of your hand.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set back zipper under the slit. It hooks to close at the back of the neck and each cuff has a zipper closure.

• The twin of this dress walked the Chanel 2010 Cruise runway for Look 33 with a jacket over it (that was sold separately in the shops).
• It was made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• The show was set on the boardwalk of the Venice Lido at dusk. "Coco at Lido" is how Karl Lagerfeld described this cruise collection. Vogue described the scene as Karl "reinstating the long-lost leisurely sensation of a fashion show as an exceptional one-off experience. The 350 guests reclining on sun beds in the famous white tented cabanas certainly felt privileged to be witnessing the extreme glamour of the designer's learned-but-light invocation of an important part of Coco Chanel's biography." The location was "one of Coco Chanel's favourite summer haunts—she visited Venice for almost ten years beginning in 1919 and met Diaghilev here".
• The inspiration was the twenties and thirties and you can see that in the lines of this dress.
• The dress is made out of a feather light ultra fine silk mesh netting. The fabric is notoriously difficult to work with and yet it all falls into place perfectly once on the body. 
• The netting is covered in a beautiful floral print in dusky pastels done in a way that makes then look like they have been hand painted directly onto the fabric. The base colour is a deep blue-purple and the colour combination of everything together is stunning.
• It is sleeveless and the very upper portion of the bodice is a single layer of the silk so that it has a touch of transparency. It becomes a double layer under that and this skims over the bodice and down to the waist. An attached panel of the same fabric goes around your waist and hooks into place at the back for added shape.
• The dress falls from there in a swoop of that feather light silk netting to the hem that widens out as it near the floor. The back feels slightly fuller than the front so you get this pretty billowing effect around you when you walk. This is a signature Karl silhouette to give the dress as much movement as possible and you can see that in the reference photos here.
• The skirt of the dress is constructed from a single layer of the printed silk and then it has a solid deep blue silk layer underneath.
• The famous double C logo is worked throughout the print of the dress making it impossible to not know that you are wearing Chanel. 
• The dress is lined with the same fabric through the bodice and then a layer of a deep blue silk as described above acts as the lining through the skirt. It closes at the back with hidden set zipper and has a hook and eye at the back of the neck with a keyhole between the two. The dress appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this set walked the runway for the Fall 2007 show for Look 43. He repeated the same design through the upper bodice for Look 18 and we have included a photo of that look here for reference.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano
• In the book 'Dior Catwalk' they note that the Collection "managed to translate the intricate Japanese inspired references and techniques of Galliano's previous Haute Couture show for ready-to-wear, from origami folding and gravity defying pleats to elegant draping, tiered skirts, striking headpieces and bright colors." Women's Wear Daily hailed the collection as "a brilliant blockbuster, a glorious celebration of the grand and glamorous."
• Once worn together, you get the feel of a full length dress, but it is a two piece set with its original belt included. Both pieces are made out of a dusky purple hammered silk that has incredible drape.
• The top slips on and zips to close at the back. The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are cut long and on a curve to follow the shape of the arm. Each sleeve is cut a little longer than a normal sleeve so that when they are on the body they bunch up along your arm just slightly. This was a Galliano signature. There are no traditional armhole seams. Instead, they just curve outward from the body of the top and there are gusseted seams underneath. These are all extra steps that you rarely see anymore in the construction of arm holes and sleeves.
• The neckline comes in a shallow V and then all of the silk is gathered up and into the intricate fold at the front and this is where you see the references outlined in the book quote above. 
• The set comes with its original hand dyed snakeskin belt that you use to cinch in the waist. It is meant to sit over the top of that incredible front fold to create the look that he showed on the runway. The buckle of the belt is finished in deep purple rhinestones.
• The skirt that goes under the top is equally as incredible. It skims over the hips and there is an extra panel of fabric that puddles and drapes down one side from just below the hip and runs all the way to the floor. Under that panel is an incredibly high slit that goes all the way up to the top of the thigh. The skirt flares out as it nears the floor and the hem has a touch of an asymmetrical feel to it with the side with the panel falling longer past the hem than where it starts on the inside portion of the slit.
• On the runway you can see the high slit as the model moves and this skirt has that same detail.
• This is an exceptionally rare set especially since it comes with its original belt.
• The top slips on with a hidden set short zipper at the back of the neck. The belt has a rhinestone encrusted buckle and the skirt closes with a side hidden set zipper. There is a teeny bit of lift on the edges and wear marks on the belt that are minor and if I hold the skirt up to the light I see a tiny bit of stress marks under the waist seam of the skirt but it does not show at all otherwise. I am being very picky. Both pieces otherwise appear to have been worn very little if at all.

• This dress is from the Spring 1998 season.
• It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino.
• This is a really stunning dress that shows how beautifully Valentino emphasize the female body will always staying within a certain type of elegant.
• It is strapless and cut to curve over the top.
• Under that the dress is covered in a black netting that has little dots worked throughout the tulle. 
• An inner ivory silk layer gives the dress its structure and allows the pattern that you see on the netting to really take centre stage by acting as it's backdrop.
• The dress is gathered down the full length of each side. This is what creates the shape and gathers in the netting that you see. 
• Each side has a detail of a double row of tiny black seed beads running vertically all the way down for a little added glitz as you move.
• The very bottom of the inner skirt peeks out from underneath the netting. It is that so that it flares out with an elaborate pleated ruffle all the way around.
• The ivory acts as the lining through the body and then the bodice is lined with an additional layer of black silk satin. Lightly boned through the inner built-in bodice. It closes with a hidden set side zipper and the inner bodice piece has its own separate zipper. It has its original tag and appears to have never been worn.

• The twin of the dress walk the runway for the Resort 2018 Prada runway as Look 19.
• It was made under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada.
• The dress is made from an inner silk chiffon, lace edged dress that you wear a silk organza and feather dress over top of that. The two dresses laying over each other is what creates the depth and airiness that you see.
• The inner dress is a pale ivory and the outer dress is a pale grey. The two together are absolutely beautiful.
• A nude pink silk edges the top of the outer dress and there is a layer of gold connected metal discs set under that.
• The fit is full and open through the body much like a 1920s flapper dress.
• There is a pleated organza that detail the hip area above the feathers. I love how she always adds these tiny details.
• Hand dyed feathers circle around the entire lower skirt and give it incredible volume. They move beautifully as you move.
• The inner dress slips onto to wear with a single button at the side of the bodice and the outer dress closes down the side with hidden set snaps

• It was made under the creative direction of Emanuel Ungaro
• The dress is made out of a handmade French lace in a pale silver grey with ivory cord overlay and subtle silver thread woven throughout. It is extremely beautiful.
• It would have been completely made by hand in the Paris Atelier
• It is fitted and shaped through the bodice with internal boning and structure. I love the soft curve at the top edge.
• The lace has been hand draped over the bust and it is swept up to one hip with a tiny handmade flower in a matching lace. 
  
• It curves down and over the hips to the top of the thigh and the bottom of the full bodice is set on an angle.
• The skirt is gathered in and up underneath that. It is tightly gathered all the way around the lower portion of the dress which gives it incredible movement when you move.
  
• The dress is fully lined in a silver grey silk and closes with a hidden set, zipper, offset at the back and part of the fabric from the back extends and wraps to hook under the flower at the front. An inner waist stay hooks to close.
  
• Its proper Haute Couture label present

• It was made under the creative direction of Patrick Kelly.
• The Philadelphia Museum of Art hosted an exhibit of the work of Patrick Kelly in 2014. The show notes state: "“I want my clothes to make you smile”—that was the goal of late African American designer Patrick Kelly in creating his bold, bright, and joyful creations. Kelly achieved this on the streets, nightclubs, and runways of New York, Paris, and beyond in the heady, inventive, and often-subversive urban milieu of the 1980s....Kelly’s work pushed racial and cultural boundaries with golliwog logos, Aunt Jemima bandana dresses, and his ubiquitous black baby-doll brooches. His playful looks were inspired by his muse, Josephine Baker, and admiration for couturiers Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Yves Saint Laurent, among others."
• Supermodel Iman wore the twin of this on the runway and I love how spectacular she was in it.
• The dress is made out of a fantastic stretch velour fabric that will stretch to hug your curves and show off every bit of the body. That said the velvet keeps it flattering and easy to wear as it gives support at the same time it molds to the body.  This combined with that leopard print is just fabulous.
• The cut through the body hugs your every curve and the dress is molded to your frame all the way down to the hem. The stretch the fabric and the way to lower hem flares out is what allows you to walk. 
• The back is completely open and the front extends out too long extended ties from both side sides. These ties are what allow you to style the bodice in multiple ways. I shot a few here for you and you might find that once it is on you that you can think of more. It makes it an incredibly versatile dress.
• Whether you wear it halter style, as a one shoulder dress, or strapless, as soon as you turn around you get that bare expanse of skin which is very sexy.
• It curves over the hips, narrows back inwards slightly and then flares out beautifully for the lower skirts. The front hem of the skirt curves up a touch and then the back is cut a little longer than the front. The shape once this is on the body is fabulous and it is very easy to fit because of the stretch.
• It is a showstopper and an amazing example of his work. I love everything about this dress and that it is a true piece of fashion history that is extremely well documented.
• The dress is unlined and you just slip it on and tie the top part  as you wish to wear it. At some point the bottom hem was let down and I have left it for that extra length.
• There is no size tag present and it does have stretch. I have put the comfortable range while laying flat below. You probably still have some extra room if needed because of the stretch of the fabric.
• Excellent condition

Bust: variable because of the way it can be tied in multiple ways. It should fit just about any size chest.
Waist: 14-19" flat across from side seam to side seam

Bodice: the full height of the bodice is 20" from its top to the waist. When you tie it, it will drain or fold and is meant to give you that versatility. For the length I folded the bodice in half so it's 10" from the top to waist.
Total length: 54" from top of the bodice, when folded as noted above, to front hem and the back extends another 8" past that.

• The twin of the dress was shown for Look 8 in the Pre-Fall 2013 Gucci collection.
• Made under the creative direction of Frida Giannini
  
• One was also worn by Clara Paget that same year
• A gorgeous leopard print covers the entire surface of the top silk chiffon layer of the dress.
• The front crosses over itself at the neck and then buttons in place behind the neck. Under that the top blouses over you and comes in at the waist. This leaves the back almost fully open and bare.
• It was shown with a belt that was sold separately and you could easily wear it with any belt to add more shape or wear it without.
• The skirt falls from the waist and it is incredibly full with yards and yards of chiffon. When you move this catches the air and billows out to move fantastically around you.
• The Gucci logo for this time period is worked within the leopard pattern over the entire dress
• Fully lined in a black silk chiffon and closes with a back hidden set zipper. It buttons to close at the back of the neck

• The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Spring 1993 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• He did an entire series of dresses in several variations for this collection. We have also added some other shots from the collection for you to see since this particular group of dresses were integral to the collection that year. 
• Examples of Karl's work during this time period are held in museums around the world and are rare finds. This is an important piece of his fashion history. 
• The cut of the dress is simple but it is very sexy with its long silhouette and see through lower skirts.
• The dress is made out of a black crepe that has a slight bias cut to it that allows it to drape well over the body once on.
• The strap detailing that crosses over the body, edges the bust area, and is used for the straps that go up and around the neck, are all made from a wide cotton weave looking ribbon that is applied directly onto the dress.
• Black seed beads were applied onto that ribbon and they catch the light beautifully when you move. The bodice is extensively beaded, sequinned and embroidered. The colours are bright and brilliant and I love how they give the dress a fantastic pop of colour.
• The work completely covers each triangle of the front bust and then wraps all the way around the back. The straps are intricate and hook behind the neck and become a design detail in themselves. 
•  The dress skims over the body and then flares out with that inset of silk chiffon for the very lower part of the skirt.
• Fully lined in a black silk. The lower chiffon part of the skirt is unlined. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and hooks to close at the back of the neck. Hand finishes and beautifully constructed.

• The twin of this dress was a part of the Spring 2002 final Haute Couture collection by Yves Saint Laurent.
• "I have chosen today to say goodbye to the craft that I have loved so much. The next show to which I invite you, on Tuesday, 22nd January at 6 PM, at the centre of George's Pompano, will predominantly be a retrospective of my work… Some designs from the currencies will also be shown." This was how Yves the announced his intention to retire and leave the world of Haute Couture. That final show was over an hour long and was presented to a room of 1500 hand picked guests.
• A total of 371 garments were shown that day with pieces from the beginning of his career to the final collection.
• Recreations of some of his most famous dresses were made available and each has the special label that you see in this dress with both the original date of the labels inception and the 2002 date.
• This is one is a recreation of the famous Fall 1984 dress. We have included references of both the original and the twin of this one in the show.
• It is an extremely rare and wonderful piece of YSL history.
• It would have been entirely made by hand in the Paris atelier.
• The neckline sits wide across and the shoulders are soft. The sleeves narrow to their ends and all of the upper bodice is done in a fine black light in weight wool that has a slight texture.
• The waist is defined by two wide panels. They attached and are gathered in along each side and this gives the shape you see. The top panel is a purple and the bottom a deep pink.
• The dress skims over the hips and then falls to the floor flaring outward as it reaches the hem. The back is cut slightly longer than the front and you can see the extra fabric built in there to create a sweeping feel behind you.
• Every line is meticulously thought out and the technique to create the lines of this dress showcase his decades as one of the premier modern Couturiers in the world.
• The dress is fully lined in a hand set black silk and closes with a side set zipper. An inner waist hooks to close and the dress buttons above a small keyhole at the back. Each end of the sleeve closes with zipper. All of the inner seams are done by hand and the entire dress is made to modern Couture standards. Its proper numbered Couture tag is present.
• There is no size tag present so please go buy the measurements listed below.

• This is a spectacular and very recognizable Chanel whose twin walked the Fall 1986 runway.
• It was made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld.
• Karl's first collection for Chanel was in 1983 which makes this a piece from one of his early collections. I was happy to be able to find reference photos of the twin of this dress on the runway that season.
• Bella Hadid famously wore a version of this dress in 2022.
• The dress is made out of a beautiful deep blue netting mixed with a blue silk that has a gold metallic stripe running through it. These fabric choices give the dress the structure to hold the shape but still keeps it fairly light in weight once on the body.
• The bodice is strapless and there is inner boning for support. The boning continues down the sides and to the top of the hip for a beautiful fit. The waist curves in and then the skirt is set in just at the top of the hip.
  
• The entire bodice is finished with soft horizontal gathers and I love how this contrasts with the gold stripes in the fabric.
• The skirt is very long and full. The top layer sits over an inner second layer of netting and then there is a inner silk layer under that.
• The bottom hem is finished in a 12" band of the same striped silk used for the bodice to tie things altogether and add a bit of structure. 
• The sleeves are incredible. They are separate pieces from the dress. To wear them you slip them over your arm. They have stiffened tulle inside the part that puffs out which helps to hold that shape and then there is a more fitted sleeve attached that runs down the bottom of your arm. Each sleeve ends in a point to cover the top of your hand.
• It is incredibly hard to photo this on a dress form, so please take a moment to look at the photos on the runway as it really is the twin of that.
• The bodice is lined in a deep blue silk and the skirt is lined as described above. It closes with a back set zipper underneath a row of gold medal buttons and embossed with the Chanel perfume bottle. There is an extra spare button sewn into the lining inside. The sleeves have tulle inside to help hold the shape and elastic on the upper arm and the lower cuff zips to close.
• Tagged a vintage Chanel 38.
• Excellent condition.

• The dress is from the Spring 1972 season as noted on its Haute Couture tag we were lucky enough to find photos from the collection and you can see how beautiful it is once on.
• It was made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan for Christian Dior. 
• There is very little documentation on this particular collection, but in the book 'Dior Catwalk' it notes that the New York Times exclaimed, that "romance, contemporary style, is the provision look for spring." It goes on to declare that Bohans collection for Dior was the best of the season in Paris. "Mark Bohan succeeded in bringing back the fable elegance without becoming historical. There's no pinpointing of the 1930s or 1940s. The clothes look really contemporary".
• With such little documentation of the collection it makes a piece like this that is documented even more special and rare.
• This would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier.
• The dress is made out of a beautiful stiffened or starched blue silk gazaar that is woven on the bias so that the dress has a more sculptural structure and shape while still staying very light in weight. The colour is a deep blue.
• It is cut to sit fully off the shoulders though I think you could also wear it on the top edge of the shoulders if you wished.
• Each sleeve is cut to just above the elbow and has a beautiful ruffle all the way around.
• It skims over the bust and curve in a touch at the waist. Inside there is a full boned inner corset that goes to the top of the hips. This holds the dress perfectly in place around you once it is on.
• From there it skims over the hips and then flares out beautifully to the hem. The entire hem is finished with a wide ruffle that picks up on the detailing of the sleeves.
• What makes this dress especially interesting is the way that it is almost sculpted because of the fabric treatment. As good as it looks in the photos it is even more beautiful in person.
• The dress is lined in a grey-blue silk organza. The inner corset closes with its own zipper and there is an inner partial waist stay that hooks to close inside the corset. The exterior dress zips to close over that at the side. All of the work is done by hand to Haute Couture standards.
• There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.

• This is a rare two piece jacket and skirt set from the Fall 1999 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• We have included several runway shots that we found that show various pieces made of the same fabrication and with similar silhouettes.
• Both pieces are ultra soft to touch. The angora/mohair and wool mix that both pieces are made of would have been specially created for the collection in order to get the pattern to lay so precisely. The fabric would have had to have been pre-planned out prior to making the final design.
• The jacket is phenomenal. It has soft shoulders and is meant to feel at touch more oversized through the upper bodice. The waist is cinched in with a single oversized hand carved button that sits at the front. From there  then it curves over the hips under that. This cut is what gives you that fantastic exaggerated hourglass feel that the suit has.
• The shawl collar is very wide and covers almost the upper bodice. It is finished with a bolder print and feels like a statement piece in itself. The body of the jacket has an angled black-and-white chevron print and I love how he has placed this to emphasize the shape even more.
• The sleeves are extra long and they are meant to bunch up slightly on the arm. They are finished with a wide band of the same design that details the collar.
• The skirt has a simple black piping at the waist and then it is cut in a long slim pencil shape. The upper portion of the skirt is done in that chevron pattern and then the lower part of the skirt picks up that amazing design that was used on the collar and ends of each sleeve.
• The jacket is lined in a black silk and buttons at the front to close as described above. The skirt is unlined and closes at the back with a zipper and hooks at the waist.
  
• Both pieces are tagged an early Galliano large.
• It appears to have never been worn.
• Excellent condition and so so very rare.

• This is the second time that I have had this dress in the shop and I still love it as much now as I did then.
• The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 41 for the Spring 2013 collection.
• Vogue said of the Collection; "When Peter Dundas inherited this historic Florentine house—famous since the 1960s for its kaleidoscopic prints—he made reworked archival patterns a major part of his story line. Last season and this one, though, he's started inching away from them. These days, the label is just as well known for Dundas' confident, louche brand of glamour as it once was for its founder's graphic swirls and geometries." 
• It was one of three white dresses that close the show before the final red look. 
• The dress is made out of a light silk that is light in weight but just heavy enough to keep the structure. It is very close to a true white.
• The front neckline is done in a halter style with the upper part above the bust line finished an a white netting that has a secondary abstract print work through it. This allows you to see the skin underneath. The front is gathered over the breasts almost like a bandeau and seamed in the centre.
• Under that is an open cut out for a bit more skin to show.
• The dress curves in to follow the waist under that and and skims over the hips.
• The skirt falls to the floor and widens out quite a bit as it nears the hem. This gives the dress incredible movement when you walk and you get a sense of that in the runway video.
• I love the loose slightly draped pockets that sit on each hip.
• The back is mostly open with a criss cross of straps and an open cut out between the waist and the back strap.
• Decorative frog knots sit at the low waist for added detail.
• The dress is fully lined through the bodice and the skirt is unlined. It closes at the side with a hidden set zipper. Light boning and padding through the bodice.
• Because the upper body is lined and padded when it is off the body it feels like the fabric is a touch darker as it is completely opaque. Once on its fine and the lining is needed
• Tagged a modern Pucci IT42, FR38, US8, UK10.
• Excellent condition with some faint marks here and there around the hem.

• This is one of his most iconic and collectible designs.
• The dress made under the creative direction of Ossie Clark 
  
• Ossie named all of his couture dress and this one is known as the Cuddly.
• To wear the dress you simply slip it on and wrap it at the waist where it ties into place.
• The dress is made out of his signature moss crepe.
• The front is cut in a low plunge because of the wrap and the back has a large triangle cut out that leaves your full back bare and exposed. 
  
• It is very sexy and instantly recognizable as being an Ossie Clark piece.
• The sleeves are phenomenal. Each is a huge bishop cut sleeves that are puffed and full above the cuffs.
• The skirt skims over the hips and then widens out to be quite full with yards of fabric in its construction.
• The wrap leaves a long overlapped slit at the front. When you stand still it falls and closes but when you move or sit you get a flash of leg and depending on how tight you tie out around the waist you can show the entire leg.
  
• The dress is unlined and made out of a black moss crepe. 
• One tie is a little shorter then the other but does not appear to have been altered. The wrap style should allow it to fit a variety of sizes. 
• Tagged a vintage UK10
  
• I see some very minor bit of lighter areas on the moss crepe here and there. This is a natural patina on this type of fabric as in ages and is only mentioned for accuracy.

• The dress has the added modern provenance of being worn by both Julianne Hough and by Liz Gillies. 
• The dress is made of a metallic gold lame fabric that is light in weight so despite the elaborate construction of the dress. It is just heavy enough to hold the intended shape fabulously.
• The bodice is strapless and the entire dress is elaborately gathered and fitted around the bust with hand placed and gathered folds.
• There is a built in internal structure with light boning. The boning extends at the sides down and around the hips to help to hold the hourglass shape around the body.
• The waist is nipped in and then it curves out and over the hips.
• Under that the skirt falls in a straight long pencil silhouette with a vent up the back to allow you to walk and move.
• The gold glimmers in the light and it is one of the best Vicky Tiel dresses that I have ever had in the shop.
• Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with a painted metal and nylon zipper at the back. Boning through the bodice and sides.

• The twin of this dress in red walked the runway for Look 53 and its an iconic piece. 
  
• Made under the Creative Direction of John Galliano. 
  
• This collection marked Dior's 60th anniversary and it was also Johns 10th year with the label. He celebrated those milestones with a show that was a nod to both the archives and Old Hollywood glamour. Pieces were wait-listed worldwide and both colour versions were produced in very limited quantities.
• The red has also been seen on the red carpet and we have included both runway and carpet photos here. It is a spectacular piece for the collector.
• The dress is made out of a luxurious black silk. John often chose this weight of silk because of the control it gave him to be able to drape and apply the level of seam work that he loved to do.
• It is all cut on the bias.
• The bodice is strapless with an inner boned and cupped corset that holds the dress in place.
• Silk panels have been draped, gathered and hand stitched into place to create the dramatic sweeping detailing you see at the front.
• At the back he gathered all of the fabric down and into the centre line to meet in a little peak at the centre of the waist.
• From there his signature bias cut allows the dress to skim and drape over you so that is shows every curve but is not overly fitted. As in many of his pieces the seaming has the feel  of the work you see from the twenties and thirties.
• The fabric has been pieced together with low dropped angled panels to create the widening of the lower skirt. It flares out at the bottom and at the back it is cut longer so that you get a sweeping feel behind you as you walk.
• A row of signature tightly spaced buttons & loops in the same silk run up one side.
• It is an incredible example of his work and looks to have been worn very little if at all.
• Fully lined in a black silk and closes at the side with a series of silk covered buttons. The inner boned and cupped corset hooks to close with two rows of lingerie hooks to choose from. The bias cut gives it some give in the measurements and I have given the comfortable range when the dress is laying flat below.

• The twin of the dress that was worn on the runway for the Fall 1995 Karl Lagerfeld show.
• He launched his self-named label in 1984 and by the 1990s it was firmly established. Pieces from his personal label were far edgier then the work he did for Chanel. It was a label where he explored a more avant garde feel with his designs and pushed the envelope more. 
• The dress that is made out of a mix of a light weight black net that is backed in more layers of netting and silk chiffon.
• Onto that is a pattern made from black velvet fused onto the netting. The velvet is set to highlight the cut and lines of the dress.
• It has a slightly more bare and fitted feel through the upper bodice and then flares and widens out very dramatically to the hem.
• The fabric is light in weight but the layering underneath the top layer of netting gives it enough weight and structure to hold the shape.
• The bust drops into a V and the velvet details on the bodice are set on angles to work into a centre vertical velvet line. This same striping runs horizontally all the way around the hem. The line that runs down the centre of the bodice extends all the way to the hem and then more vertical lines go all the way around the skirt to break up it up into panels.
• The waist comes in a touch, but has a more generous feel to it, and the skirt swings in a a wide A-line.
• At the back, the dress completely opens with a series of silk covered buttons that run from neck to just above the hem.
• The bodice is lined in another layer of the same netting and the skirt has three more layers of netting under the top layer and an inner nude silk chiffon layer under those. It closes at the back with the series of buttons that you see.

• The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Spring 1988 show.
• Made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan for Christian Dior.
• The evening portion of the collection focused on short dresses that had a corseted waist and bust with wrapping techniques that gave the feel of a sarong. The dress is a wonderful example of that feel he was after and it is fantastic.
• We found a teeny slice of it or a very similar piece on the runway and even though the photo shows the model on an angle, it does give you an idea of how wonderful this will be on the body.
• This would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier.
• The fabric of this dress is fantastic. It is made out of a black silk organza that has been gathered so it has a slight 3D puffed effect. This creates an incredible texture over the dress.
• The fabric is light in weight and despite the elaborate construction of the dress is not at all heavy once it is on.
• Inside the dress has a full proper corset with boning through the bodice to give you some support and built in cups. A wide grosgrain ribbon hooks in place around the inner waist to hold everything perfectly in place.
• All of the seams are finished by hand and it is really is a nod back to the early couture days in terms of it's construction.
• The bodice is cut with a curving sweetheart neckline and it is meant to hug the body. It is elaborately gathered and fitted around the bust with all of the gathered folds coming in to the seams that run over the bodice. This is all done to emphasize your curves and it make the dress very flattering once on.
• It nips in at the waist and there is a large and elaborate bow that sets at the base of an angle seem coming from the bust. I love how this is set to curve around the hip to the back. It instantly adds to the hourglass field the dress has.
• From under the bow, the skirt curves down and over with to wrap around you and then come back in and under that panel to give it that wrapped sarong feel.
• Fully lined in a black silk and closes with a side set zipper. The interior of the bodice is boned and cupped for support. The inner corset closes with its own zipper and a wide band on the interior waist hooks to close. There is a tiny bit of lightening to some of the edges on the fabric. This is a natural aging of this type of fabric and I don't consider it to be a flaw, but it is mentioned for accuracy. It otherwise appears to have never been worn, or worn very little.

• Easy to wear while still being incredibly sexy. It is made out of a thicker jersey that is cut on the bias and this lets it drape beautifully over you and still be completely opaque.
• The plunge at the front gives it a very edgy and sexy feel while the jersey keeps it feeling comfortable to wear.
• The dress is made to be one long tube with a seam at the waist on the front of the dress only.
• The dress has no collar and plunges down at the front to the waist. Two long ties extend out from the base of the front plunge. You can loop or knot them and then they fall almost to the floor at the front.
• The sleeves are long and simple and the shoulders are soft.
• The skirt flares out at it reaches the floor with a high slit runs up the front so you get a flash of leg when you move
• The dress is in its original uncut supermodel length and it closes with a back hidden set zipper.

• Arnold Scassi launched  his boutique line in 1984 and it was high end ready-to-wear and very expensive.
• Arnold Scaasi was born Arnold Isaacs in Montreal and the name Scassi is simply his own surname in reverse. He studied in Montreal and in Paris, apprenticed at the house of Paquin and then worked with the legendary Charles James. In 1964 he opened own couture salon.
• The sleeved version of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 1987 collection. It's very rare to find documentation from this time period and I love having that say that you can see how amazing it is on. I think this strapless one is even better.
• You can easily see the influence of Arnold having worked for Charles James in this piece. The lines are dramatic and yet elegant. 
• The dress is strapless and the top portion of the dress is made from an inky black velvet. It is dramatically shaped at the front with wired peaks and a V plunge at the front. 
• It nips in at the waist and then angles down from one side low on the hip on the other. On the side that sits higher up, there is a large bow detail that gives the effect of holding all the gathers of the skirt in place.
• The skirt is set under that and the long angling seam on the opposite hip adds visual length to the dress as it extends down and into a deep point. The skirt is quite full and the shape and volume that you see is held by the inner construction which is quite amazing.
• Layers of tulle netting set underneath the outermost layer of silk. The green of the skirt is a true brilliant emerald. This unexpected shock of colour is fantastic.
• Fully lined in a green silky rayon. The bodice is lightly boned and it closes with a hidden set side zipper. Built in stiff tulle under skirts and the skirt is interlined in a green organza. 
• There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.

• Completely made by hand in the Paris atelier to Haute Couture standards.
• This gorgeous dress is made out of a black silk velvet with a leopard print done in a different finish of velvet within the fabric. This pattern gives the velvet an extra depth and richness, and also catches the light as you move. It is stunning.
• It drapes absolutely beautifully over the body. It is really an outstanding fabric. The bodice is set into a V that crosses over itself where it is set into the waist. The bodice drapes more loosely over you at the front. 
• The waist is seamed and cut slightly on the more generous side. I have added a ribbon and if you wanted more shape, you could have it cinched and even more with a belt or it also works perfectly well without.
• The sleeves narrow down to a hand set zippered cuff.
• The skirt falls to the floor in a pretty sweep of fabric that is at the front. This lets the front hem curve up slightly.
• It is a gorgeous dress and a wonderful piece of his fashion history.
• Fully lined in a black silk. There's a inner built-in half skirt. It closes with an inner side set zipper and the outside snapped into place with a series of hidden set, snapped around the waist. And inner waist state hooks to close. Each cuff has a hidden set zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

• The twin of this dress walked the Fall 2005 runway for Look 51.
• Made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
• The dress has all of the elaborate over the top details that you would expect from a Galliano runway piece.
• The bodice of the dress is elaborately pleated. The black silk jersey that it is made out of has been draped and gathered into a V at the front that is edged in velvet. The rest of the bodice is made from a silk with stiffened ribbon shown on the exterior all the way around. This sits over an inner corseted and cupped bodice.
• Straps connect to a silver D ring at the centre of the neckline and then they curve up and over your shoulders and attach at the sides of the back. On the runway, they were gathered so they appear more narrow, but you can also wear them to create a little almost capped cape feel like I have shown here. I love that you have the versatility of wearing it either way. 
• The waist is seamed and a cord finished with little Dior embossed clips runs through the waist and allows you cinch it in as needed.
• The skirt falls from under there in a beautiful bias cut. The entire top portion of the hip is gathered into elaborate panels to pick up on the box all the way around you. The skirt falls from there and widen out as it near the hem. An oversized and elongated pocket is top stitched onto one side and elaborate velvet, sequin and net flowers sweep over the entire skirt.
  
• The upper back is left bare and I love that little curving peak that he has added there for extra detail.
  
• Fully lined with an inner silk skirt and a fill built-in silk cupped and boned inner corset bodice. It zips to close with a hidden set zipper.

• This is a variation on Look 52 that walked the runway for the Spring Prada 2004 show
• Made under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada
• Vogue said of this collection: "Over almost a decade of ground-breaking experimentalism, Miuccia Prada has explored everything from irony to deliberate ugliness to intellectual subversion. She’s been there, done that, and has the souvenirs to prove it. For Spring 2004, the designer turned her attention to the stiffest fashion challenge of the day: how to make feminine, happily nostalgic clothes without rehashing the clichés of vintage?“ It was about tourism and craftsmanship, many things,” she said of a show that revisited the optimistic fifties to bring back a full set of densely packed suitcases." 
  
• The dress is made of of an ultra fine, ultra light cotton in a deep ivory.
• It is strapless and the fabric has been done in extremely fine pleats with embroidered edges on some of the pleats. These sweep across and around the bodice. One one side the pleats are hand tacked down in a line that curves down one side. On the other side of that tacking the pleats begin to open up to sweep downwards and start to form the skirt. 
• The skirt is made of five tiers of the cotton with attached under layers of silk and netting. This creates an extraordinarily beautiful  draping all the way down the skirt.
• The cotton is printed with an ultra fine pattern made of fine little dots to form tiny clusters of flowers. These cover the entire dress. It is extremely beautiful and has a very delicate and feminine feel.
• Inside there is a net and cupped bodice that is lightly boned for support.
• It closes with a back zipper. An inner waist stay hooks to close. The construction of the dress is a nod to the dresses of the 1950s and it is very beautifully done.

• Fall 2007 dress by John Galliano
• Made of a combination of an ivory silk chiffon that is covered in an ivory net lace
• The dress has a strong nod to the 1920s. It is generously cut through the waist and has a scooped neckline.
• Silk chiffon has been formed into little rosettes on either side of the buttons that run down the side of the dress. Panels of chiffon wrap around the waist from the flowers to add a bit of detail and shape.
• There is a long panel of silk that hangs from one of the rosettes at the front. You can allow it to just trail down the front or hook it over one of the rosettes at the back to create a pretty draping down the full side of the skirt.
• The dress is very light in weight. The silk chiffon underlay acts as the lining.
• It closes with the series of silk covered buttons down the side

• The twin of this dress was presented as Look 5 for the Resort Givenchy collection.
• Made under the creative direction of Ricardo Tisci
  
• This was his fifth year at the label and in the Vogue review of the show they noted that Tisci told them that the colour palette of black, red and white mixed with the occasional leopard was inspired by Frida Kahlo and her animal-filled paintings.
• The dress was shown over a hot pant two-piece inner set but was shipped to the stores with the black half slip you see here. If you prefer the runway version you could of course easily re-create a more bare feel.
• The dress is made out of a black net with little silk insects, emphasizing the darts. It is set in with a seam under the bust that is angled upwards to the centre. It is suspended from two tiny straps that curve up and over the shoulder. The very upper edge of the bodice is finished with leather piping.
• It skims over the waist and then the skirt cascades outward from there to the floor.
• Red lace and red netting have been applied over the dress to create the striking pattern that you see. This pop of red against the transparent black net is even more striking once on the body and you see the transparency through it that contrast against the red lace and netting.
• It widen out quite a bit by the hem and the width of the lower skirt allows the dress to move beautifully around you as you move.
• The inner black silk chiffon slip acts as the lining and it slips on to wear for an easy fit.
• The net dress slips on over that with no closures.

• I see a couple of tiny repairs in the net near the raw edge finish of the skirt. Very minor but mention for accuracy.

• George Stavropoulos was known for his evening wear and his signature looks often involved draping and the use of silk done on a bias cut. He focused on cut and fabric to convey the beauty of each piece. It was said that his gowns 'seemed to float on air'.
• He launched his label in 1960 and soon was dressing women like Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, Barbra Streisand and Maria Callas. The majority of his gowns are almost entirely made by hand and to couture standards. 
• The dress is made out of a feather light black silk that has tiny little red lines that highlight the cut and line of the dress. 
• The neckline is cut straight across and the dress is suspended from tiny straps that curve up and over the shoulders. 
• The bodice is more fitted and the waist nips in. 
• From there the skirt falls in this extravagant swoosh of bias cut silk to the floor. It skims over the hips and then widens out substantially by the hem.
• The striping is set on angles over the dress and helps to add shape. I love the unexpected red lining through the skirt that picks up on that red stripe. When you sit or move you get these little flashes of it that is fantastic. 
• There is a slight elastic around the top of the dress and I think you could wear this as a strapless piece and just tuck the little straps in if you wished.
• Fully lined in a red silk and it closes with a side set zipper. 
• Excellent condition and appears unworn.

• The twin of this jacket walked the runway for Look 6 for the Fall 2015 collection.
• From the Junya Watanabe for Commes des Garcons line.
• For the show Junya focused on the honeycomb and he said that he wanted to explore "dimensionality through clothing" the point where mathematics and nature meet.
• This particular jacket explores the use of the hexagon and triangle and the jacket is meticulously pieced together. You also see the nod to the honeycomb in the pattern of the oversized waffle weave print that adds texture over the entire jacket.
• The sleeves are shaped to follow the shape of the arm and the fabric is all gathered into a complex design under the base of the shoulder. You see this repeated at the front of the bodice and the interesting shape it creates around the neckline. I have taken a photo of the jacket hanging on a hanger as well as the dress form so you can get a better idea of this.
• Around the edge of the hip are little insets triangles that create a exaggerated peplum. You can see how beautifully the shape this creates once it is on the body.
• The jacket is fully lined in the second layer of the same fabric as the exterior and buttons to close down the front.
• It comes with its original packet that has extra fabric and the jacket appears to have never been worn.

• From the Act 1 Fall/Winter 2019 Chanel collection. This is the collection done for shops between the pre-collection and the runway shows. These are often specialized items that are made on an extremely limited basis.
• Made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• The buttons on this one are so special. They are little snowflakes on a carved backdrop mixed with rhinestones. They are meant to evoke winter and when combined with the knit, the feel of being warm and cozy, nestled inside from the ice and snow on a winter's day.
• There are five larger buttons down the front and then a slightly smaller version sits on each pocket and at each cuff.
• Even though the sweater at first glance looks like it is made out of Angora, Chanel actually does not use Angora. Instead it is made out of a blend of cashmere and alpaca. This is a very expensive to produce, time consuming process and a amazing technical achievement in fabric.
• The colour is a pale baby blue and even though we have tried to capture it as closely as possible here it is even better in person. It is the kind of piece that makes you gasp out loud when you see it.
  
• It has a slightly cropped feel to it and I love the two little pockets on the front.
• It buttons to close down the front and the pockets are functional but each is still lightly tacked shut as it came from Chanel.
• It has its original Chanel packet with extra yarn inside and its original Chanel tag. It appears to be unworn.
• This is a very rare and special Chanel piece especially in this pristine a condition.
• The knit has some stretch and I have put the un-stretched, laying flat measurements below.

• The twin of the dress walked the Spring 2009 runway for Look 62 
• Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• This is the actual dress that was worn by Catriona Balfe for the Season 5 premiere of Outlander in 2020. 
• In the book "Chanel Catwalk" the notes on this collection tell us that for this show they rebuilt the facade of 31 rue de Cambron inside of the Grand Palais. The collection played homage to classic Chanel style. The palette of the show was mainly black, white, pink and grey. Many of the pieces had a touch of a lingerie inspiration in them, including this gorgeous dress. It was one of the outstanding pieces in the show and it is even more beautiful in person. My photos don't come close to doing it justice. 
• The upper bodice and shoulders of the dress are made of a fine silk netting that has a touch of transparency to it. It breaks at the back to leave a bare expanse of skin down the centre. 
• A muted silk satin, with a more matte finish, is used to create a tiny little bodice piece that wraps around you.  A little bow sits at the centre front for a pretty and feminine touch.
• The skirt falls from that empire cut and flows outward to the floor, expanding by quite a bit as it nears the hem.
• It is made of four layers, a top black silk net layer, a more ivory layer under that, and then two inner black silk organza layers that sit next to the skin.
• Fully lined in silk behind the bust area and the inner two layers of the skirt are a black silk organza.
• The bodice buttons to close  with two pewter coloured silver metal buttons at the back and the dress zips to close under that.
• Tagged a Chanel 38.
• I see a couple of very tiny and little minor pulls and breaks in the skirt near the hem that don't affect it at all but are mentioned for accuracy and a repair near the edge of the arm opening. Overall excellent condition

• This appears to be the actual Haute Couture sample coat that walked the runway for the Fall 1985 Jean Patou collection for Look 12
• Made under the creative direction of Christian Lacroix 
  
• This is an extremely rare and important piece of fashion history. Very few pieces of his work at Patou come up for sale and this is more then likely the only piece to exist.
• Made in the Paris atelier
• Made of a soft orange wool shaped in an enveloping cocoon shape highly reminiscent of a 1920s flapper coat.
• It is all cut on the bias so once it is on the body it wraps around you beautifully. It is extraordinary. 
  
• The sleeves are quite extremely wide and they have a long wide cuff that flips up and over the sleeve. The cuff is completely covered in hand dyed feathers.
• More of the same hand dyed feathers are used to create a huge shawl collar that drapes down and over the shoulders. It continues to run all the way to the hem and circles around to the back hem.
• The coat narrows in as it reaches its bottom. This is a classic cut for this style of cocoon coat
• It feels wonderfully decadent and opulent, both key design elements in Lacroix's work. It is literally like wearing a work of art.
• Partially lined in a silk through the upper body of the coat and through the sleeves. The rest is unlined.
• Has its hand written Haute Couture sample label in place and attached metal couture tag
• Excellent condition

It is very full and open and has no closures so should fit almost any size. It is approximately 52 inches from neck to hem but that will come up a bit once it is on the body.

• The runway version did not have the gray underneath the chain metal so it was worn more as a tunic. When they added the grey silk band for the shops it allowed it to be worn as a mini dress
• Made from a pale pink crepe with a soft grey design printed over it that incorporates the word Prada on both the front and back
• The lower portion of the skirt is a pale grey stretch silk like fabric. A metal chain mail detailing goes around the top part of that lower skirt
• It has a high collar and the sleeves are long. Each sleeve is finished in a pale pink feather cuff.
• Pin-tuck detailing creates a very pretty and detailed finish at the front of the dress
• The fit through the body is more full and open much like a 1920s flapper dress
  
• It closes with a hidden set back zipper

• I see some teeny little marks on the grey silk and one tiny faint spot on the top of one shoulder. It has the slightest perfumey smell, otherwise in excellent condition.

• A shorter version walked the runway for Spring 2012 for Look 47
• Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
• The body of the dress is a pale pink knit whose design is set in little individual scallops that slightly overlap the one underneath. It is very intricate and beautiful 
• The neckline is scooped and there are flowers made out of stiffened silk organza mixed with an iridescent fabric that also is stiffened. These are curled inward to form petals. There is a cluster of five flowers around the neck and then ten run down the centre of the front. More circle around the entire hem. The iridescent petals catch the light and add a beautiful dimension to the dress.
• The sleeves are made out of a ivory silk chiffon and each closes with a little domed Chanel button with the double C logo in gold. A third button sits at the back of the neck. Despite having the Chanel button I think that these sleeves may have been added at a later date or upon request of the client. It would explain why they still have the Chanel buttons but they don't look like they were integral to the dress by the way they are set into the arm. I have left it as found but if you did not like them they could easily be removed.
• The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. It buttons to close at the back of the neck and on each cuff.
• Tagged a Chanel 36
• The button at the back of the neck has lost its little gold double C logo. I see a tiny little break in the silk at the top of one shoulder. It otherwise is an excellent condition.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway in the Spring 2003 show for Look 64
• Under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
• It was the only dress shown in this entire collection that season that was done in his signature Valentino red. So when you look through the collection photos it really stands out.
• The show was a huge success and Vogue especially loved the evening pieces; "For the evening review, it gets even better. Valentino's communiqués from his couture collection show up as delicate metallic-embroidered chiffons made into fragile capes, cardigans or dresses. And for the grand occasion, there's a full battalion of the designer's fabulous signature chiffon gowns." 
• Suspended from the shoulders by two tiny straps in the same red silk. The bodice is seamed just under the breasts and have minimal darting. 
  
• It skims over the waist and hips and then from there it falls to the floor in a beautiful column of the red silk crepe.
• The back of the dress is cut slightly longer so you have a tiny bit of a sweep behind you.
• Two panels of silk chiffon wrap around the waist area to add detail and shape the dress. The panels are attached all the way around you and then loop through openings at the front of the dress. The ties are cut extra long and fall to just above the hem at the front of the dress.
• The dress closes with a hidden set side zipper.
• The top panel of the bodice is lined in a red silk and the rest of the dress is unlined.
• Tagged a vintage Valentino 10.
• I see a touch of grubbiness here and there around the hem but otherwise excellent condition

• The twin of this gorgeous suit walked the Fall 2008 runway as Look 37
• Under the creative direction of John Galliano
• The show celebrated the 1960s with the opening music Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson'. The models were styled with a nod to the 60s but in a highly exaggerated way.
• Galliano said of the show "I am always looking for heroines who make me dream"
• The suit is a brilliant green silk /cotton mix which keeps it light in weight but has enough structure to allow it to hold its intended shape perfectly.
• The collar is wide and exaggerated and the suit closes with matching silk covered buttons and hidden set snaps down the front.
• A little bow sits at the centre of the front and little flap pockets still have their tacking in place on each hip. The hips are shaped to curve outwards.
• The end of the sleeves and the around the entire hem is heavily embellished with big round silver discs, glass or stone polished pieces, mixed with little gold sequins.
• The skirt is cut in a little bit of a flare and will sit just above the knee depending on your height.
• Both pieces are lined in a green silk
• The jacket snaps and buttons to close down the front and the skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper
• The jacket is tagged at FR42, GB14, IT46, US10. The skirt is tagged FR36, GB8, IT40, US4.
• I see a teeny darkened mark on the skirt near a seam and a teeny faint spot on the back that is very minor. There are some missing embellishments here and there. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.

This beautiful dress was Look 49 on the Spring 2015 runway for Ralph Lauren. At the time it was released there was a editorial that noted that the bead work alone on this dress took over 900 hours. Princess Charlene of Monaco wore one in 2016 and Sarah Jessica Parker wore one in 2023. I ove that this gives you a fantastic idea of how this looks like on the body. The Purple Label from Ralph Lauren are the high-end demi-couture pieces the label creates. Ralph Lauren launched it in 1994 and the label was meant to be the pinnacle line for the brand. The dress is beautifully made. 

The dress is made from multiple layers of silk tulle over an inner silk. The colour is a earthy deep golden colour. Onto the top netted layer is the extensive and elaborate bead and prong set glass crystals that are mentioned above that took over 900 hours to apply by hand. The design completely covers the bodice and sleeves and then runs down on panels on the skirt. The front  neckline is scooped across and rhinestones have been prong set in an elaborate and dense design just under the neck line. These taper down and change to these to very fine beaded curving lines that run down to the waist seam. The sleeves are long and they are also entirely covered with more delicately done bead work. At the back you have an open V that plunges down the back and exposes a bare expanse of skin. The skirt is magnificent. It has multiple layers of the tulle with individual panels attached around the skirt. These panels have the same elaborate hand beading as the sleeves. The entire skirt is made from multiple layers of panels set vertically and separated from each other from the hem to about 23" up, so when you sit or walk a certain way you get a bit of flash of leg from underneath. This gives you incredible volume as well. I loved the dropped waist and you can see that the dress can be worn with a belt as they showed it on the runway, or without for a more 1930s feel. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a matching coloured silk and closes with a low set hidden back zipper. Each sleeve buttons to close at the wrist. The skirts are made of multiple layers of tulle with an inner silk panel. Tagged a modern RL 4

This is a special edition dress from 2012 and that same year its twin was worn by both Katy Perry and Sonam Kapoor. I love that this gives you the chance to see just how gorgeous this dress is once on and that it is a dress with incredible modern provenance given these two moments. Dolce and Gabbana launched in 1985 by founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who still run the label to this day. After a shaky start in the first few years, by the 1990s, they had started to open their own boutiques and had become a force in fashion. In 1993 Madonna chose them for her 1993 Girlie Show tour and they gained world wide recognition. They are known for their dramatic designs that are heavily inspired by their Sicilian heritage. 

The dress is made out of a deep red velvet and that colour, combined with this fabric, gives it an extra depth and richness that it would not have in any other fabric choice. The top portion of the dress is treated in an almost corseted fashion. It is meant to be very fitted to the body. The bodice is peaked at the front and the velvet is placed over it to drape and wrap around the body in the most flattering way possible. Inside it is boned and shaped so that everything stays in place. The waist is cinched in and the illusion of a tiny waist is made even more so by the elaborate skirt that billows out all around you. The skirt is a work of art in itself. Layers and layers of net and tulle are built-in underneath that top velvet layer so that the volume you see in these photos is actually the volume that the dress has. You see that in the photos of Katie and Sonam as well. It is an extraordinary dress. Excellent condition with a minor note below.

Fully lined in red silk with boning and a cupped inner corset. Added layers under the skirt as described above. It closes with a back zipper and then the skirt snaps to close over that starting under the waist. The zipper pull was not present on the dress and we replaced it with twisted black rubber finished wire so you're able to zip the dress open and closed. Please see the photo after the shot of the label. Other than that one small detail, it appears to have been worn very little if at all. Tagged a vintage DG 36

The twin of this gorgeous Spring 2001 Chanel set walked the runway that season. The show that year took place in the Carrousel de Louvre where the Chanel team constructed a multi-coloured Neon Staircase for the models to walk down. The Chanel 'Catwalk' books noted that the models sported tons of colour to go with that staircase and the collection showcased red, pink, blue, coral and purple besides the standard black and white used so often by Karl. Models had logos written on their faces and even their nails with a 'specially produced varnish embellished with diamante chips'. This look was heavily styled with accessories for the show and I loved when you see the pieces paired back you understand just how fantastic they really are. No one does cashmere like Chanel. The fabric of the skirt is yet another amazing example of just how high -end their fabrications for ready-to-wear are. 

This Chanel set is so good. These are the kind of pieces that you see in real life and it makes you swoon. As good as it looks in the photos it only really comes to life on the body. Both pieces are absolutely beautiful. The sweater is so pretty in its own right. There is a definite nod to the tennis sweater in its design. The cashmere has a defined ribbing through the body and sleeves, and then the cuffs, hem and neckline are done in a finer ribbing for contrast. Also like a tennis sweater, it has a classic striping around the neck line and the cuffs. It is cut to sit soft and easy on the body so that it feel simple with the perfect amount of casualness. I love the little pocket that sits on one hip and there is a little Chanel emblem under that. It has the double C logo on a grid which to me is a little nod to the tennis net. The skirt is equally as amazing. Here we have wide ribbed cashmere detailing around the waist and then we have a beautiful Chanel tweed boucle done in soft coral and peaches on a ivory backdrop. Big oversized belt loops sit along the the waist line and they have little snaps in behind at their centres in case you want to wear a different size belt, or have a belt sit higher or lower. They are held in place at their bottoms by a dome pearl button that has Chanel embossed on it. There are little pockets set along the inset front seams. The skirt is cut in a sharp little A-line. I love how the sequins done in a mix of pastel peach, coral and white, are used to highlight the grid pattern of the tweed. This is a superb Chanel set that is just exceptional. Excellent condition.

The sweater is unlined and the skirt is lined in a Chanel embossed ivory silk. The sweater slips on to wear and the skirt closes with a hidden set back zipper. Both pieces appear to have been worn very little if at all. The colour and textures are even better in person. Both pieces are tagged a Chanel 38. The sweater has some stretch and the comfortable range of measurements while laying flat are below.

The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 2001 Chanel show. The show title was "Coco Pop" and part of the show had references to pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. Stripes were an important part of the collection and I love how that is picked up with the sequins that adorn the front of this jacket. You also have that grid pattern on the rest of the dress that is made from combining little closed rectangles of stripes placed against each other resulting in that pretty design. I love having the reference photos for you so you can see how gorgeous this is once on the body.

The dress is a simple shift with little cap sleeves and a scooped collar. In person it is a bit more of a pastel pink tone and even prettier than how it photoed here. All of the seams through the body of the dress are set vertically. As they move over the body they gently create the curve of the dress so that it skims over you and is very flattering. I love the combination of wool and sequins. It is unexpected and lets the dress work for both day and evening. Only the front of the dress is a done in sequins. Karl kept that front-only detail even on the cap sleeves who have sequins only on their fronts. The sequins run horizontally on a panel set down the centre of the dress. Across the waist there is a strap adorned with two Chanel buttons. If you look closely at the buttons, he incorporated that same pattern in the wool part as the background of each button. I love that detail. The fabric is light in weight but is still has structure so that Karl was able to sculpt the shape he desired. It is so pretty and easy to wear. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a peach silk chiffon and closes with a hidden set back zipper. This one has its original Chanel placket with extra fabric and an extra button inside. There is a very minor, slight change in colour near the edge of the inner lining under the arms. Please see the photo after the label shot. Tagged a Chanel 36.

After much research I believe this to be from the Spring 1979 collection for Chloe by Karl Lagerfeld. In this collection he moved away from 1940s as his inspiration into the sex appeal of the 1950s, said the book 'Chloe Catwalk'. The silhouettes were based on the hourglass. In that same book there was a very similar floral pattern shown that is on this piece. Gathers emphasized hips, which this has, and the waist was emphasized. Feathers and the rooster were a part of both the prints and the accessories. Lagerfeld said of the collection to the press "Frivolity is important. I want shape and sensualness."

The dress is made from one of his signature feather light silks of this time period for Chloe that feel like magic on. It is screened with a custom print that mixes an ivory, pastel coral and a pale lavender purple. The entire dress is unlined and this is what helps to keep the dress so light in weight. An interesting detail is that the labels are on the side of the dress that I think is the front. The side that has the deep plunge is longer in length at the hem so I believe that should be the back. I have seen other dresses with this label placement from around this time period and when the back is plunged like this, so it is not unusual to see. I have photoed it both ways for you, with the plunge at the back and the front. You could potentially wear the plunge at the front if you don't mind the longer hem at the front. Much like that Lacroix dress from me that was worn to the Met Gala a couple years ago when they turned it around backwards. The sleeves are long and it skims over the bust to the waist. The back plunges into a low V to just above the waist. As mentioned above, it is possible that you could wear it either way around. It is incredibly sexy worn either way. The waist is seamed and the dress comes with it original striped screened silk belt that hooks into place around you. The stripes on the belt pick up the stripes that are on the end of each sleeve and circle around the hem. The skirt curves over the hips and there is a gathering of the silk there for added shape. It falls to the floor from there with the back cut longer then the front for a slight trained effect. You get the most fantastic movement as you walk. The dress is in its original uncut length. Excellent overall condition with a note below.

Unlined and closes with a back zipper. Hand finishes throughout. There is light fading to the fabric here and there at the top of the shoulders and edges of the hems where there is the purple in particular. This all looks to be hand dyed and or screened and it presents perfectly once on. The belt hooks to close. It is amazing.

This gorgeous little dress was a dress was based on a combination of Looks 10 and Look 52. This version has been done in all black, it has the one shoulder cut of Look 10 combined with the bead work and embellishments that you see on look 52. Vogue said that the collection was done "in an electric-bright palette.. and channelled Barbara Hutton's sixties—a glittery, lame, paisley, and leopard-print world of muumuus, bikinis, capri pants, trapeze dresses, cat-eye sunglasses, and scarf-wrapped hats. It bordered on camp... and Kitschy or not, there was no denying the workmanship that went into crafting the large collection." I love that the photo of the blue dress still shows you how fantastic this is on the body.

The dress is made out of a black silk chiffon that has a slight bit of texture to it. It is cut on the bias with seaming at the waist for a bit of structure. The wide shoulder panel curves over to the back and at the front it drapes across the bust. On both sides of the bodice there is a spray of intricate floral appliques detailed with black jet beads and sequins. These catch the light beautifully as you move. The waist nips in and the dress comes with its original belt that lets you cinch the waist in as much as you like. I love the big jewel buckle of the belt. The skirt flares out under that to the hem. There is a good amount of silk chiffon through the skirt which gives you gorgeous movement when you move. It is stunning. A signature row of tightly spaced buttons run up one side. A very pretty and wearable example of his work. Excellent condition with a small note below

Fully lined in a black silk and closes at the side with a series of silk covered buttons. The belt comes in its original Dior pouch. I see one tiny hole near the hem. Please see the photo after the label shot. Tagged a FR42, GB14, IT46, US10.
