Prettiest Spring 2005 Christian Dior by John Galliano Knit & Silk Chiffon Ivory Dress

This dress if is from the Spring 2005 collection and is one that would have been produced for the shops.
It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano
The dress combines an ivory silk chiffon with a very light in weight ivory knit that is done in a very pretty crochet feeling pattern.
It falls from tiny knit straps that curve over each shoulder and the very top of the neckline has a pretty chiffon ruffle that wraps all the way around you. It skims over the bust, waist and hips from there.
The body of the dress is made out of the knit and then it has a layer of silk chiffon over that so that it is opaque enough to wear. Panels of the crochet knit wrap around you through the upper part of the dress. I love how the panel that covers the bodice shows the full pattern of the knit and then the three bands under that are more the cut out medallion portion of the knit design.
A single layer of silk chiffon is attached under that to form a pretty and swinging skirt. The silk is all cut on the bias so you get a ton of movement once this is on and you move.
Depending on your height this might fall more mid-calf to ankle.
The knit backing through the top portion of the dress serves as the lining and the lower skirt is unlined. It slips on to wear with no closures.
The stretch of the knit makes it act like a bias cut piece and I have put the comfortable range below.

I see a very faint spot on one of the front medallions. There are a couple other extremely faint spots, one on the collar that gets lost in the fold and two very tiny ones that are even fainter than the one photo here.
It is otherwise appears to be in excellent condition.

Bust: 14-17" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 12-15.5" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 17-21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 34" from top of the shoulder to bottom before the skirting
Total length: 56" from top of the shoulder to hem

payment two of the remaining balance will be billed two weeks from the date of the initial deposit.
The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
