Incredible Fall 2009 Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture Runway Look 10 Silk Fringed Jacket

• The twin of this jacket walked the runway for Look 10 in the Fall 2009 Armani Prive Hauet Couture collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Giorgio Armani.
• This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a piece of Armani Couture. Couture pieces rarely come to market from his Prive label and we are excited to have this in the shop.
• This would have been made entirely by hand in his Italian atelier.
• Vogue said of the collection that "His show, cast in monochrome with glinting highlights of silver, focused on jackets with rounded pagoda shoulders over softly pleated pants with an easy elegance about them. Armani said he'd been influenced by black-and-white movie heroines and set the show to forties movie soundtracks, but the feel wasn't overtly retro."
• The jacket does have a nod to the lines of the 1940s with its slightly capped shoulder and strong lines.
• It is infinitely easy to wear and simply slips on with no closures to break the line of the incredible fringes that cover the entire jacket.
• The sleeves are long and appear even longer because of the fringes. The cut through the body is a more box cut that has been cropped to just below the waist making it very easy to fit and wear.
• The exterior fabric appears to be a silk / wool boucle mix that has a diagonal stripe running through. All of the fringes extend and come out of these stripes. When you look closer it is absolutely incredible to see that it appears to be all one piece. So the fringes would have been condensed and woven into the black fabric parts and then allowed to open to create the fringes. The technical aspect and difficulty of this is mind-boggling.
• The fringes combine little black stacked rectangles with silvery white boxes and each fringe is finished along the vertical with a stitched edging. The movement these create when this is on and you move is absolutely incredible.
• The closer you look at the jacket and realize the level of the construction put into it the better it gets.
• The lining is a phenomenal slightly metallic deep pewter and silver silk brocade with a curving abstract pattern. The contrast between the rounded organic shapes in the lining combined with the very geometric pattern of the fringes is just fantastic.
• The jacket is fully lined and slips on with no closures. There are built in light shaping and padding through the shoulders. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
• There is no size tag present since it is Couture, so please go by the measurements listed below. Because there are no closures at the front that should have a bit more range in sizing.
• Excellent condition

Sleeves: 21.5" and the fringes extend another 10" beyond that. Each sleeve is 12" around the upper arm.
Slightly extended shoulders: 16.5"
Bust: 17" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist-bottom seam: 16.5" flat across from side seam to side seam but there are no closures so there is room beyond this.
Total length: 18" from neck to hem and the fringes extend another 10" beyond that.
