• This is from the Resort 2018 collection and was a production piece for the shops.
• It was made under the creative direction of Pheobe Philo.
• We have included the reference photo for the first look presented for the Resort 2018 collection and you can see the very similar skirt to this look.
• This is an outstanding Celine that is simple in design but beautifully executed to sit on the body and be very flattering in that perfectly Phoebe kind of way.
• The dress is made out of a black jersey that has a bit of stretch. The jersey of the top is more opaque and the skirt has a touch of transparency.
• One shoulder is cut wide and it sits so that it drapes slightly over the edge of the shoulder for the barest suggestion of a cap sleeve. The neckline angles down and around to the other side to leave the opposite shoulder bare and exposed.
• I love how the edge of the neckline and the opening for the arm are edged in a gathered band of the same fabric for a perfectly subtle bit of added detail.
• It skims over you to a seamed waist and the skirt falls from under that.
• The skirt is meant to sit mid-calf to ankle depending on your height. It is gathered in all the way around the waist  in soft gathers and it is tremendously full. There is so much fabric in the skirt that if you lay it out flat it is actually more than a full circle around.
• The fabric has a touch of transparency and is extremely light in weight and you can see that even though there are many yards of fabric in the make-up of the skirt it falls in a sleek column once on the body.
• It is fantastically minimalist and yet still a strong statement piece.
• The bodice is lined in the same fabric as the exterior and a skirt is unlined. It closes with a hidden set side zipper and appears to have been worn very little if at all.
