  • The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 1993 catwalk and I love that we found a video of it so that you can see how fantastic this moves once on.
  • Made under the creative direction Karl Lagerfeld
  • In the book, Chanel Catwalk, Lagerfeld was quoted as saying "You have to be careful of too much street style because everything starts to look the same. Too much underground is boring and too much upper class is boring. You have to be right on the edge."
  • It is a rare and early piece of documented Chanel.
  • The dress is made out of a double layer of a black silk chiffon that has a bit of a crepe feel to its finish. The sleeves are a single layer.
  • The neckline scoops across the front and the front skims over you to the waist which is cut more on the generous side. The sleeves are a single panel of chiffon that are open along the bottom edge and drape over the upper arm.
  • At the back is cut into a low open plunge for an expanse of bare skin to show.
  • It skims over the waist and hips and then the bottom skirt has panels built along each side to mimic the feel of the sleeves. These extent well beyond the hem on either side. This creates tremendous movement when you walk and move. Between those panels, the skirt flares out quite a bit and adds to the beautiful movement the dress has.
  • The second layer of chiffon acts as the inner lining and it closes with a hidden set back zipper.

Sleeves: approx 18"
Shoulders: no true seams
Bust: 15-16" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 13" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 18" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 13" from top of shoulder to waist
Total length: 53" from top of shoulder to front hem and then the side panels extend another 20" beyond that.

  • payment two of the remaining balance will be billed two weeks from the date of the initial deposit.
  • The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
  • items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
