  • This is an extraordinary Halston that we believe is from the Spring 1981 collection.
  • It was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston
  • The dress is made out of a black cotton silk mix that has little white embroidered dots scattered over the entire surface. It is so pretty.
  • To wear it, you simply wrap it around yourself and close it with a series of hook & eyes. One of the hallmarks of a Halston design is the way that he used the very bare minimum of seaming and closures and you see that in this dress.
  • After wrapping it around you, you get a wide set V at the front. Attached to the neck line is a wide panel of the same fabric that goes all the way around the shoulders and meet back at the front again. I love how this creates a caped feel over the top of your shoulders and across the back.
  • Because of the way that it is wrapped around you, you can wear the dress on top of the shoulders are completely off of the shoulders. The versatility of this is like having two dresses in one.
  • The waist is elastic so it is very easy to fit and comfortable once on the body. It should allow it to fit a range of sizes. If you really wanted to cinch in the waist and create shape you could add a belt.
  • The hem of the skirt is finished with a second wide panel of fabric. Here it is a full 16" in height. It is cut to follow the curved shape of the hem at the back and then continues where it comes up at the front. I love the pretty curve that this creates and when you see it in person, you realize that the back is cut longer than the front with a beautiful sweep. The wrap design also lets a bit of a flash of bare leg show when you move or walk.
  • The dress is fully lined in a hand set black silk organza. It wraps to close and hooks at the waist. Hand finishes throughout.
  • There is no size tag present so please go buy the measurements listed below.

Bodice: 15" from top of shoulder to waist
Total length: 50" from top of shoulder to the shortest part of the front hem and its 60" to the back hem.

  • payment two of the remaining balance will be billed two weeks from the date of the initial deposit.
  • The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
  • items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
