Amazing Spring 2012 Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Runway Look 12 Pucci Print Silk Top & Skirt Set
- The twin of this dress was presented for Look 12 for the Spring 2012 Pucci collection
- It was made under the creative direction of Peter Dundas.
- I love that the photos and videos give you an idea of how gorgeous this is on the body.
- Vogue noted that for the spring collection Dundas "worked a sexpot theme – all mid drift baring peasant tops, visible dentelle knit panties, and suggestively place black laces insets on silk slipdresses. Over the top? At times. But his girls look so smoking hot you'd need a heart of stone to avoid being seduced by the like of Natasha Poly advancing brazenly towards you in a flood tide of Pucci print."
- It is a two piece set that you can wear to give the appearance of either a dress or make it more obvious that it is two different pieces.
- Both pieces are made out of one of the Pucci label's classic, ultra-light silks and even though there is a lot of fabric in the skirt it still stays very light in weight because of the fabric choice.
- The silk has been completely covered in an outstanding pink Pucci print and I love that Dundas chose these exceptional pinks prints. There is a shot of black in the skirt, and that just shows off the pinks and pastels even more. I have shot of all of the various prints used in a set so that you can see how beautiful they are.
- I love that Peter Dundas chose to take such a strong nod to the house legacy.
- For the top, you tie it at the back of the neck and it creates that beautiful soft draping at the front neck line. Then you tie it again behind the back at the waist and because of the softness of the silk and ease of tying it, you can decide if you want to wear it with the point down and over the skirt so that you are fully covered, or if you prefer to wear it folded or twisted so that you leave a bare expanse of skin showing between the top and skirt.
- I took a photo of the top laying out flat to show you it's simple yet brilliant shape. It is one large double-sided silk jersey shape shaped so that it ties into place around you.
- I also shot it laying out flat on both the back and front sides because the top has two different prints on each side. If you remove the label you could wear it either way around and change the look of the top completely.
- The skirt is equally as simple and brilliant. It has no band at the waist. Instead, it just falls into a front point that repeats on the back. On the front it's more a red print and on the back it's a pale pink.
- From there it curves out over the top of the hips and then the fabric is very full below that. All of the fabric in the skirt is completely cut on the bias so you get an incredible amount of movement when you move.
- It widens out from there and falls in for attached panels all the way around you. Each panel widening out significantly by the hem.
- There are four distinct panels with four distinct prints. I have shot each of the four for you to see.
- There is a tremendous amount of fabric in the skirt and between that and the lightness of the silk it has phenomenal movement around you as you move.
- The era that Peter Dundas was the creative director at Pucci is 100% my favourite of the modern predecessors to Emilio and this is an outstanding example of that.
- The top is made from a double layer of printed silk. The pointed yolk at the top of the ski skirt is also a double layer of silk, and then the panels are a single layer. The top ties into place as seen and described above, and the skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

SIZE GUIDE
Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
