Amazing 1930s Unlabeled Pink Light Woven Cotton Tiered Applique Dress w Amazing Sleeves
This is a beyond gorgeous dress whose fabric is phenomenal. It is not labeled but it is obviously a well made piece. It's also one of the prettiest dresses from this time period that I have ever seen. The dress has a simple but very beautiful cut. The bodice is slit down the front with a little strap holding the opening in place. The strap is a part of the edge of the piping that runs along the neckline. This allows the neckline to sit wide across the top for a bit of bare skin to show. At the back it is open and dips into a low V so that most of your back is left bare and exposed. It skims over your bust down to a cinched in waist that has an attached band of the same fabric that is connected all the way around to the back. The lower part of the dress falls from there to widen out as it reaches the hem. The skirt is made out of three separate attached tiers of fabric and each is wider then the one above. By the time it reaches the hem it is is a full circle of fabric if not more. This gives it incredible volume and movement around you as you move. It's one of the prettiest skirts I've ever seen. To finish off this ever so pretty dress each sleeve is also cut in a full circle of fabric around the opening for the arm and this gives them the prettiest caped feel. And again on the sleeves you get incredible movement when you move. The fabric is just beautiful. It is a woven cotton feeling fabric that has fused applique work over the entire surface. Between the applique work you get a touch of transparency but the volume of fabric keep it from being to risque and the bodice is a double layer of the fabric. It is really is just an amazing piece. This is the type of dress you will only ever find in vintage. Excellent condition
The bodice is two layers of the fabric and the rest of the dress is unlined. It closes with hook and eye at the back of the waist. There is one tiny area of darkening to the fabric on the waist band near the side. Otherwise it looks like it was worm very little if at all. Please see the final photo
