Fall 2009 Leopard Oscar de la Renta Runway Gown
This was look #42 on the Fall 2009 runway and is absolutely stunning! An amazing fine scarf weight printed leopard silk gown by Oscar De la Renta that skims over the body and is not meant to be skin tight, yet manages to emphasize every curve. It is long and lean in all the right ways. It is constructed with a draped and gathered front panel across the bodice with a second panel coming up from the waist and draping over one shoulder. The fabric flows from there to the floor and it is all cut on the bias so the gown really has the most spectacular movement. I love how it is cut supermodel length and the bias cut allows it to "train" behind you in the most beautiful way. That leopard print makes a strong impact and yet it is simple and classic at the same time. This is the dress for when you want to look and feel a mile tall and supermodel skinny!! Really one of my favorites pieces and in excellent, unworn condition with the original ODLR hang tag still in place.
Fully lined in fine nude colored tissue silk and closes with a hidden back set zipper. Has a full inner boned corset with built in cups and its own zipper closure. Tagged a 10 but please go by actual measurements. Original cost of gown was over $5000+. More room could be gained by removing the inner corset if you needed it. (Note the belt shown on the runway was not included in the retail version - it was sold separately)
Bust: 17" flat across from side seam to side seam
Inner waist: 13-14" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 19" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 15" from top of shoulder to waist
Skirt: 47" from waist to hem but will rise slightly when on since it is bias cut
