Nan Kempner's 1970s Sequined Bill Blass Peacoat
This is the ultimate peacoat and that perfect mix of glamor and luxury mixed with the concept of American sportswear that Blass excelled at. And it has an extra special tie in as my client purchased this at the charity sale held after her passing.
Glossy black sequins glimmer like a living thing and completely cover the surface. Blass takes this everyday staple to new heights of chic by covering it with sequins in this way. It is shockingly light and fluid- the sequins are all applied onto a black silk chiffon. The impact of that shimmer is fabulous and i love the tongue in cheek vibe created by those anchor engraved buttons. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a black silk. It closes with the buttons as seen. Perhaps the occasional sequin missing but no bare areas.
