This is an amazing little hat from the estate of Dorothy McGuire of the McGuire sisters - a singing trio known for their sweet harmonies and identical outfits who recorded the No. 1 hits "Sincerely" and "Sugartime" in the 1950s. It was custom made for her in the late 1960s and was made in France. It has a definite 30s feel to it and had I not known the provenance I would have guessed it to be older based on the fine workmanship and proper techniques used in the construction of the cap. It is made of a fine wool felt that is soft and flexible. Onto this are hundreds of various sized glass rhinestone crystals, each properly prong set in the traditional manner and each placed and set by hand. The cap has curved edges reminiscent of a flapper cloche and this allows you endless styling variations. It is really a remarkable little thing and I will be sad to see this one go as it is a true little treasure. Excellent condition

Size: 20" approx. circumference but it has some give and will fit up to 23" comfortably
