1920s Unlabeled Black Silk Crepe Jagged Hem Top w Hand Beading in Red & Black

This is such a wonderful example of the level of hand work that was put into garments from this time period. It is so special and the workmanship is extraordinary. It was completely made by hand and the beadwork on it is amazing. Teeny tiny seed beads have been hand applied to the black silk crepe base. They are set to follow that wonderful jagged hem. This ends in points all around the top and the beadwork is done in two wide panels stacked on top of each other in the exact same shape. Each beaded band is a full 5" at its widest point. The beads are a combination of red and black and the work to hand apply all of these beads would have taken many hours. The shape of the top is perfectly representative of the time period with a loose and easy cut that just falls over the body. The neck is scooped and there is a button at the back that sits above a small open keyhole. If you love it in the pictures you will be extraordinarily happy when it arrives. It is in extremely good condition and it is strong and wearable despite being 100 years old. It is a true work of art. It is very rare to find pieces from this time period on this condition anymore. Excellent condition.

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.

This garment has been professionally cleaned, pressed and is odor free. Thoroughly checked over before shipping, it will be ready to wear upon arrival.

SIZE GUIDE

Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
