1920s Silk Net Sequin Flapper Over Dress

Exquisite 1920s piece has some of the most phenomenal sequin work I have yet to see. The base of the dress is a black fine silk netting. Onto this has been hand applied row after row of glossy black sequins with an amazing floral design worked in along the hem, just under the hips and around the bodice with fantastic couture level sequin work. The sequins are† applied in thick designs with some parts of the floral patterns sitting off the fabric! It is really an amazing piece of art! Both sides have a deep deep V with low sides - it really can be worn either way. Each side is low (though they are different - an interesting touch - and each has a beaded blue ombre detail securing the side. This would have been worn over a semi sheer or sheer colored under dress - you can let you imagination run wild in matching yours to the colors in the bead work. It is shockingly light due to the combination of sequins on net - you think it will be very heavy but its like wearing air! Really an extraordinary piece. Strong and wearable with the care and love it deserves to be shown - this is one of the best 1920s pieces I have ever seen. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today! Museum quality.
