1920s Silk Lace Peignoir or Evening Piece
Stunning, ethereal and romantic peignoir that could easily be used as a evening topper or even as a dress. The base is a very fine, light silk chiffon with silk crepe piped edging and the most amazing and beautiful applique floral design that is worked into the back side of the fabric so that from the front this design seems to float on the silk fabric. It has the most amazing open, kimono like sleeves that have that same piped silk crepe that edges the pieces hand placed and sewn near top to hold. It ties flapper style and a high deco design lace creates that gorgeous bottom asymmetrical ruffle. That same lace is picked up at the back cape. Excellent condition and truly beautiful!

The piece is unlined and closes with a tie inside at the waist and then again at one side on the exterior. There are two small, well done repairs to the lace on the cape - they seem to have been done some time ago and are only noticeable if the lace is spread out flat due to the folds and drape. Really well made. It should be dry cleaned upon recommendation of your trusted dry cleaners when cleaned again in the future.
Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. - The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
- items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
