1920s Embroidered Pink Flapper Dress

This is a wonderful cotton voile flapper day dress. It has fantastic open cut work embroidery and hand done smocking detailing! The color is a hand dyed pink-salmon color and the white embroidery work really pops against it. The technique used to make the open stitched areas is done from thread that is pulled across the open areas. This is a meticulous and time consuming process and would have been done by hand. The embroidery work is actually raised and dimensional in some places and is quite extensive - it is also all done by hand. A labour intensive piece like this would have been very high quality at the time! Excellent, museum quality condition

Shoulders: 16" from seam to seam with a slight drop
Bust: 19" from side seam to side seam
Waist: 16.5" from side seam to side seam
Hips: open
Bodice: 15" from neck to waist
Skirt: 22" from waist to bottom hem

Unlined, it slips over the head and has hidden snaps along one side. There are a couple of tiny smudges here and there - but nothing that truly detracts from this gorgeous piece. No true flaws to note for a piece of this age. Note the color is closest in the close-up of the skirt but is still a tad more vibrant in person

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.
