An extraordinary silk fifties dress in every way, from its charmingly full skirt to it's nipped in waist and stunning fabric. You can just picture the girl in her flats and cat eyed sunglasses and scarf over her curls that would have worn this. It is a wonderful example of Fogarty's work and eye for fabric. Constructed from fine Indian grade fabric that would have captured the exoticism trend happening in that that time. I love contrast of the Indian paisley feel design mixed with bold striping. The fabric is light as a feather yet the dress still feel structured and proper - an amazing contrast. The skirt would have been constructed around fabric screened specifically for it. Each pleat has the striping inside so when you move you get lots on visual interest. The bodice is cut like a proper fifties dress should be with rounded shoulder and gussets under each arm. The fabric is again used specifically to follow the design. Amazing! Excellent condition.

This late 1970s, early 1980s typifies the movement towards clothes that were easy to wear and had a sportswear meets runway feel to them. Made of a soft light cotton poly mix the dress feels fantastic on and is one of those slip on and go pieces that will work year round. It is full of amazing, but subtle Koos touches. Bits of contrasting print are worked through the design - the more closely you look at the piece the better it gets! I love the piped borders of a stiffened cotton dot ribbon - it adds just a hint of structure and a definite visual interest. The skirt is soft and flows out from the elastic waist. The bodice is cut long so it can be draped above an added belt to the waist can be worn lower on the hips for a more hippie feel. The collar buttons so you can change the feel by having them closed or leaving some (or all) open. Excellent condition. Item# DD923
Amazing and very rare early dress from the original Saint Laurent ready to wear label. The colors are amazing! Who else but Yves could mix† clay colored hues with a purple blue and make you wonder why you do not wear them together every day? The print would have been custom screened specifically for this dress and the fabric is an unusual silk knit that is fine and light. It is extremely sexy and has an almost Ossie Clark feel with the way the bodice is cut. A deep plunge turns into a buttoned front and you can see flashes of skin between each button. The waist is slightly dropped and the skirt flows from there. Flat seamed pleat work circles the hips in his signature manner, and allow the maximum amount of fabric through the bottom portion of the skirt. The top is fitted and so sexy with sleeves that pouf up above their cuffs. It is a masterpiece and in unworn, excellent, museum quality condition.
Sleeves: 27" (meant to pouf a bit)
Shoulder: 15.5" across
Bust: 16-18î flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 13î flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 23î flat across from side seam to side seam

Unlined and closes with a fine, painted metal zipper at the front below the waist. The bodice buttons to close with a bit of skin peeping through the space between. Each cuff closes with a hidden snap. Note that there are buttonholes on each cuff - there was probably buttons there at some point. This could easily be changed back of desired. Also please note that the bust 16" falt across f;at but has strecth the mannequin it is on has a 35-36" bust to illustrate fit.

However much you think this looks fabulous in the photographs it is infinitely better in person. This is truly one of those extraordinary, couture level pieces that every collector and vintage lover needs to own in their collections. Everything about this piece is perfection. It is in perfect condition and appears to have never been worn. It is entirely finished by hand - you can clearly see the hand work down to set the lining into the dress. The dress is constructed of long vertical panels that are folded and knife pleated flat upon each other, without creating bulk, so that as if near the skirt it turns into pleat work. The green is brilliant and there is a raised design woven directly into the exterior fabric. The jacket is as fantastic as a stand alone piece as it is as the completion of the set. Huge jeweled buttons adorn the front and I love the top stitching on the collar and those decorative flaps on each hip. A vented pleat is worked down the back seam. No shortcut was taken in the construction and it is a stand out piece in every possible way! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

An astonishingly chic and fabulous dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. When I attended the opening of his exhibit in San Francisco I spotted a dress from this same collection being showcased there (the same exhibit that is now making its way around thew world to much acclaim!) On the runway, this same print was featured in the F/W runway presentation - I have included the photo of look 35 for your reference.
The fabric is amazing - angels, cherubs, stars and Baroque beauties cavort across it within medallions of vines and flowers. It is fitted to the body with a strapless bodice and the skirt is slightly sculpted and rounded. The back is amazing - a lace panel sits above the waist and one of the scenes has been hand cut and appliqued onto it creating a picturesque frame. The zipper is masterfully hidden under a side seam so it looks like there is no zipper to interrupt this design detail. It has an extreme couture like sculptural feel and the fabric used is a high quality silk brocade. I love the little slanted pockets that sit on each hip just begging for the wearer to slip her hands into and strike a runway worthy pose. It is a masterpiece. Excellent condition and appears to have never been worn.
Fully lined in a rich, heavy weight silk through the skirt and silk net & silk through the bodice. It closes with a hidden zipper at the back that runs under the side seam. It is boned through the bodice and has hand finished cups set inside of the bust. The pockets on each hip are lined in silk. Note that some of the photos have a slight yellow reflection to it - the dress is a subtle silver grey - the color in the photos in a reflection from the light only. It is flawless.

I love Donald Brooks pieces and this is a wonderful example of his work and attention to subtle detailing. A seemingly simple full length dress has lots of extra details that make is a stand out. Made of a voile cotton mix fabric it has pretty little multi colored flowers screened on it from top to bottom. From a distance these look like bright little dots, but as you get closer you see they are all individual blossoms! The skirt is gathered in at the waist and cascades to the floor. The bodice is simple with a wide scooped neck and no sleeves. I love the rows of ribbon that are appliqued to create a band around the waist. These are then picked up and circle the entire hem as well. Wonderful and in excellent condition!

Wonderful full length silk chiffon dress in a brilliant red. The skirt flows to the ground in a cascade of silk - there are yards of fabric in that skirt! The halter top is quite beautiful with a gathered bst and twisted swatch of silk chiffon that goes up and around the neck. The color is that perfect shade of red with a slight blue undertone Perlberg made these pieces to be danced in and this one would look amazing twirling across the dance floor! Very Grecian goddess and very sexy. Excellent condition. Item# DD940
This is a very, very early rendition of what would go onto become one of Ossie's most famous and recognizable designs. This late 1960s, possibly early 1970s maxi is based loosely on a "graduation" gown mixed with the flowing softness and drape he was renowned for and a dash of sex. The front plunges in a deep square cut to the empire waist. An attached tie wraps around and gives the gown and the wearer shape and keeps the plunge from moving about. The skirt flows from the front gathers under the neckline and then from the shoulders at the back. It cascades to the ground and is balanced by sleeves that pouf up above each cinched wrist. This dress is unusual in two regards - first the tie is shorter and wider then the long fabric ties he used later when the dress was produced in larger quantities - on this dress each tie has a satin backing, whereas later renditions are just fabric ties. And second, the fabric is not the standard moss crepe that is used later, but a lightweight, almost felt-like jersey fabric. This is the couture Ossie Clark label and it also has the Jeeves Dry Cleaning, Quorum recommended, tag that instantly dates it as one of his earliest pieces. The Ossie collector will instantly recognize just how important this dress is - all version of this dress are just later renditions of this one! Excellent condition.
Shoulders: no defined seams

Bust: to 22" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: open and defined by the attached tie

Bodice: approx 12" from neck to empire waist seam
Skirt: 41" from empire waist to hem
Unlined and slips over the head to wear and has satin backed ties at the waist. Each cuff has has two fabric covered buttons at the wrist. The size is variable because of the loose flowing cut and undefined seams. It is on a size 4ish mannequin but would also easily fit a 8-10 and even larger is you are not too full through the shoulders and bust.

When I go over a McQueen dress the thing I always marvel at is how close in construction it is to its older, hand tailored counter parts. If not for the label and slightly different grade fabrications you almost get the thought that you are handling a piece of very well made vintage. He excelled in his tailoring and did not scrimp or save on seaming or fabric when he made a dress. The dress was made properly and in traditional manners with all the little details one comes to expect in high end vintage. This dress is a fabulous example of that. It is impeccable tailored and the lining is as high a grade of silk as the exterior. Small details abound - a zipper set so that it all but disappears from sight, gussets under the arm, deep pleating worked in the skirting and bodice and hand placed work through the hem so it has the slightest drawing in to suggest a tulip silhouette. Ties sit at each side of the waist to cinch it in and the front plunges. It is beautiful and wearable and a great piece of fashion history and testament to his genius. Excellent condition.

Am amazing and chic 1960s dress that perfectly captures the mood of the times. At first glance you think that the dress is only embroidered but that stunning patter is actually created by a combination of embroidery work mixed with white sequins that are used to create those beautiful medallions! The dress is not perfect - there is a sequin missing here and there and at some point the inside hem was redone and it is not the most perfect job ever (I chose to leave it as found to conserve as much length as possible) but it presents well and is still infinitely wearable as either a super short mini or a tunic over a skinny pant. The front has a hook over a keyhole neckline so you can wear it closed or open and it flares out gently as it nears the hem. Little pockets sit low on the hips, hidden along the seam on either side. Its fantastic despite its vintage patina and I love it! Item# DD885
Brilliant floral print chiffon, full length dress by Chester Weinberg, one of the great American designers! He was renowned for his love of fabric and based the design on the fabric choice rather then vice versa. You can almost picture him looking at the beautiful long lines of the pattern on this and deciding they would best be displayed on a dress with long and lean proportions. The dress is as stunning and bright as it appears in the photos and is even better in person! The outermost layer of chiffon has huge pink and coral flowers custom screened onto it from top to bottom. Brilliant pops of green are worked in amongst them for maximum contrast. The bodice buttons to below the waist for a shirt like feel with cuffed sleeves for the perfect finish. It is a beautiful, dramatic piece and in excellent condition.

A dramatic gown whose startling design is softened by the choice of a beautiful silk taffeta fabric. Constructed from a stunning watercolor washed array of soft pastels on a white backdrop. Soft pinks, greens and yellows give the impression of a painted watercolor and cover the gown from bust to hem. It is cut to skim the body and hug the upper torso. The strapless top is lightly boned inside for support and the waist cinches in and then it widens in a gentle A-line with a front side slit. The ruffle that cascades from the bust down the side to the floor gives the impression that the wearer has been wrapped and presented like a precious gift. Insanely rare and insanely fabulous Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers zip front caftan robe that is completely wearable as a maxi, can be used as a chic beach cover up or as a lingerie piece as it was originally meant. In fact, it is so fabulous that it would actually be a shame if it was not worn out and about! The color is an amazing bright coral that is just not being conveyed in the photos. If you are a Pucci collector you know how vivid his colors are and this one is superb. The blues against the coral are amazing! The neck, arm and hem all have that infamous contrasting edging. The nylon is super drapey and fluid and it weighs mere ounces. The fabric is signed all through and it is just an incredible piece. Its the only one I have ever come across in this amazing color combination and most are just not truly a great candidate to cross over into regular wear - this one is. A real collectible and in the EPFR world, a real rarity! Excellent condition!
Unlined with a front zipper. Nylon fabric. The color is a true brilliant coral and bright blue. It photoed far more pink that what it actually is in person - the closest are the label shot and close up of the bodice for color. What I love about this dress is the subtle beading that was used. It is so closely matched to the fabric that you don't necessarily notice it from a distance but it adds a sense of luxury and richness for the wearer - like a secret bit of specialness! The base fabric is a silk chiffon with ribbons of silk woven through in long vertical stripes. Over this is a pretty pastel design of dots and flowers. The neck is scooped at the front and then dips very low and sexy at the back. The entire neckline is beaded with just over an inch of tightly spaced white glass tube beads. Each cuff gets the same treatment. If that was not enough he then placed those same beads in delicate rows following the striping in the ribbon. These trail down the tops of the shoulder and bodice, leave off for the center of the dress so it feels light and airy and then anchor the hem to give it just enough weight for it to fall perfectly. The top panel of silk floats over the inner silk dress. The original silk sash can be used to give it more shape or you can wear it loose and caftan like! The final perfect touch is the watteau like back - it gives it a draped goddess feel! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

This is an extraordinary and early black label Ceil Chapman and is really an exceptional example of his earlier pieces. You mostly see the later fitted versions made infamous by Marilyn Monroe, but this is a true 1950s beauty and is just wonderful. The skirt is very full and made of a good weight underskirt with a very fine, tightly woven netted top skirt that floats over the inner skirt. This top skirt is incredibly full and is gathered at the bottom of the waist band in tightly space pleats that allow the fullness. The waist is nipped in with a 5" band of fabric. Onto the band are hand applied clusters of black sequins. The top of this dress is amazing! It is a tightly sequined and beaded thing of beauty that is all hand done on a fine black silk net. The net is so fine and light the the feel of the sequins is almost liquid. It is a classic fifties silhouette with a high neck, cap sleeves and rounded shoulders. I love the sexy but subtle keyhole at the back. Amazing!

The upper bodice is backed in a fine black silk net. The remainder of the dress is lined in a thick weighted black silky rayon. It closes with a side metal zipper and has a button at the beck of the neck above the keyhole. It was styled over a light crinoline that is not included. There may be a sequin missing here or there but it looks as if all are present. There are a number of small break areas in the fine net top skirt that have been repaired or left as is. There is so much fabric that I feel these do not detract but I have priced it lower as a result.

I love Donald Brooks pieces and I love this fantastic one shoulder maxi dress from the seventies in its fantastic combination of white, navy and a brilliant green. Made of a slinky, fluid jersey it cascades form the one shoulder in a myriad of stripes and fabulousness. The stripes take a bot of an angular turn as the cross over the bust and each panel widens as it nears the floor. Its supermodel length and there is an astonishing amount of fabric in the body and skirt. The fabric is light weight enough that it falls perfectly when you are standing still and does not seem bulky, but the second you move (or twirl across a dance floor) the amount of fabric becomes apparent, Stunning and flattering - those stripes will make you look a mile long! A spectacular metallic threaded silk skirt and top set by Louis Feraud! This is an extraordinary outfit that beautifully combines a well done cut with exquisite fabric. The top is made of tissue thin, almost weightless silk chiffon that has that spectacular gold lame thread woven through it. I love the ruffled high double collar piped in gold and how that is picked up and down at each cuff too. The skirt is beautifully full and flows to the floor with a full 8" hem of piped silk chiffon at its bottom. The main port of the skirt is a good weighted silk satin. The gold piping that finishes the edges has a touch of stiffness to it so creates a pretty ruffled effect. The perfect autumn hues and wonderfully versatile as you can of course wear the top and skirt separately as well. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition

A stupendous Chanel in a not so basic black! A textured black boucle is set off to perfection with black & gold buttons - all with that classic CC logo of course! Six gorgeous Chanel logo buttons finish the front and more are at the back of the skirt! Four pockets set along the front seams give it a classic, sleek look. It is extremely well made -as one would expect. I love the little details - the braided finish along the edges and topping each pocket, the little point of each sleeve. The skirt is cut tight and fitted and those bottoms even open with properly finished buttonholes! Lined in a fine black silk it feels amazing on! New Chanel jackets alone can cost upwards of $8,000 so grab this original for a fraction of that! Excellent condition. Item# DD965
This is a very very rare and very early Norma Kamali piece. It really should be in a museum as it is from one of her very early collections and is most likely a predecessor to her later parachute jumpsuits and pieces! It is cut so low at the front and with such a deep plunge that the girl who gets this should be pretty brave or layer it over a stretch strapless piece! The sleeves are cut from the waist out so are wide and dramatic. The fabric is a light white cotton mix that has a nice crispness to it while remaining soft. Pleas sit just under the waist and the hips have a touch of flare to them. Each ankle gets super skinny and has wide fabric ties that you wrap around the ankles. It is simplicity itself and yet extremely dramatic when on. You will not see this versions of her label often and to find such and extraordinary design as well is marvelous! Excellent condition and a very rare, early, show stopping piece!

Jean Varon did a series of dresses in a slinky nylon jersey. This fabric works brilliantly with his love of pattern and color. It holds the color perfectly and they stand the test of time staying true and crisp. Here he has used a palette of purples and reds in long, lean making rows of print. The dress has a high collar and sleek bodice. The sleeves are also cut long and lean and the skirt cascade to the floor. I love the banding worked into the pattern that defines the hem and waist area. These clever placements of the print make a girl look super model tall and curved at the same time! The nylon jersey is slinky and sensual to the touch and extremely light and easy to wear. It also travels fabulously. Excellent condition

Jean Muir is renowned for her cut and use of fluid flowing jerseys and this piece is an outstanding example of just that and it is in a rare, larger size! The base fabric is her signature jersey that has wonderful drape and movement to it. This has been hand screened/painted with colorful dashes of color from top to bottom. Each seam is top stitched in her trademark fashion in a matching purple hued thread. An interesting fact about her pieces - each of her dresses were made one at a time and by one single person start to finish. This singular attention shows in the quality of her garments. It is cut very loose through the body - I did not pin it in my size 4-6 mannequin just used the matching belt to cinch it in. The cut makes it very forgiving on lots of body types. There are hidden pockets tucked along the side seams and the belt has her signature clear plastic round slip buckle. Excellent, museum quality condition!

A great basic black maxi dress with an interesting and flattering halter bodice. Made of a fluid poly jersey it move wonderfully. The skirt is quite full - there are yards of fabric in that skirt. It falls quite straight when the wearer stand still but when she moves it really shows off the volume that is there! The top is a draped halter with the fabric set on an angle - drawing the eye up and in for length. The straps are caught up just below the neck with a swatch of fabric and then they drape down the sides of the back leaving most of your back bare. There Is a built in bodice so you don't have to worry about bra straps showing with that low back! Very Grecian goddess and very sexy. Excellent condition

Unusual Jean Muir in that you normally see her day pieces. This one is absolutely evening and has a strong nod to the great designers that preceded Muir with its 1930s feel and a nod to those great bias cut pieces of the past. It is very Grecian goddess and very sexy. The skirt widens as it swoops to the floor and is fluid and drapes amazing on. The use of her signature jersey sees to that! The bodice is just gorgeous with a twisted knot and a plunge back. I love how the fabric knot sits just under the collarbones and how you can wear the shoulders twisted or draped as I have shown. The back is left low and bare. Really an exceptional piece and deceptively simple off the hanger and devastatingly sexy on a real girl. Excellent condition
Unlined and slips on to wear with no closures. All the measurements have a touch of stretch above the highest listed measurement due to the fabric. These are the measurements with it stretched comfortably lying flat.

A fantastic bright and cheerful kimono inspired dress that has a lovely bamboo print running though it. The fabric is so easy to wear - its that slinky lingerie weight nylon jersey that has just enough weight so it feels good on and not cheap. This was probably originally meant as a hostess piece -t hat grey area between lingerie and greeting guest in your home but it can absolutely be worn as a proper dress now! The skirt flares out from the high set waist in a surprisingly wide A-line so you get lots of movement. The waist nips in from a little definition just under the bust. The front has an unusual drape over the square neckline and the sleeves are fantastic crazy wide kimono feeling and completely dramatic! They are almost a full circle at the ends. Appears to have never been worn and in excellent condition.

A spectacular, bohemian metallic threaded maxi dress in weightless silk chiffon by the great Pauline Trigere! This is an extraordinary dress that masterfully combines cut with an exquisite fabric. Made of tissue thin, almost weightless silk chiffon in a brilliant teal blue mixed with a floral and paisley print that has pops of pinks, greens and purples. From top to bottom fine gold thread has been worked through the silk in vertical rows and gives the dress a subtle shimmer when you move. It has a square cut front and back and the sleeves blouse and balloon softly above each cuff! The skirt is beautifully full and flows to the floor seemingly from the bodice though inside the dress there is a waist seam.† To achieve this there are a series of almost invisible fine, flat pleats built around the torso of the dress but so carefully done that the design in the silk appears unbroken. Amazing and in excellent, seemingly unworn condition

Holly Harp was infamous for dressing rock stars like Stevie Nicks and was know for her draped, layered luxe bohemian princess looks and romantic vibe. She is infamous for flouncing tiered chiffon's and this is an outstanding example of her work in bias cut silk chiffon. The fact that it is actually two pieces just makes it better as you can mix and match them with other separates! The skirt cinches in at the waist and then flows in a widening arc of beautiful bias cut silk topped by silk chiffon. The top is a little miracle of cut. It weighs about as much as a scarf and just slips on, hooks with one little hook at the front and settles itself into place perfectly. Layers of chiffon with a ruffled front and flowing caped shoulders give it a sexy hippie chic edge. The front is scooped into a deep V and little ties tipped with crystals dangle from the center and on the sleeves. It is amazing and far more beautiful and airy in feel then my camera could capture. Really wonderful, rare set and in excellent condition
Shoulders: no defined seams

Length: approx 19" from shoulder to hem

Skirt: 36" from waist to hem
Both pieces are fully lined, the skirt in a black silk and the top in layers of the same black silk chiffon, except for the top cape-like portion of the top. The skirt closes with a side, hand set painted zipper with hook & eye at the waist band. The top slips over the head with a hook & eye at the front. There is no label as the client removed it but it has the Holly Harp signature lace loops inside the skirt to hang it and it is absolutely a true Holly Harp piece.

This is a very rare and early Bob Mackie piece that precedes his own label and was produced in tandem with Ray Aghayan. You can see his future love of sequins in this piece! Made of a stretch silk jersey it is a sexy one shoulder silhouette. Onto the front of the bodice that has a shoulder strap is an elaborate and beautiful hand applied bird of paradise made entirely of sparkly rhinestones, tube beads and glossy black bead work. It gives the simple cut dress an instant dose of high glamour and the bird itself is like wearing a huge piece of jewelery. The fabric is cut on the bias and is insanely comfortable to wear so the contrast of that glamorous detailing paired with a comfortable dress is just irresistible, It is also a good weight that has a beautiful drape but still manages to glide over the body and be very flattering! His early pieces are the hardest to find and this is a stunning example of his early work! Excellent condition

Waist: 13.5" unstretched to 16î flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 15" unstretched to 20î flat across from side seam to side seam
Length: 58" from top of shoulder to front hem
Unlined and closes with a slightly offset back painted metal zipper. Small fabric covered "sticks of boning at the side that has the bare shoulder to help hold it properly in place. Note the color has a slight blue tone to it in person - in some lights it looks proper black, in others a deep deep indigo - its very flattering! The bird was hand applied and the stitching is easily seen on the back of the fabric. It looks like it was let out along the sides at some point. There are very very very faint lines that you can see if you look crazy close.

This is a very unusual silk jersey dress or tunic by Mollie Parnis. It is so out of what she normally does that I had to have it despite it having a couple of teeny flaws (see below). I just knew this is the kind of piece some edgy girl could style to her hearts content! The fabric is fluid, slinky jersey that instantly drapes into place when on. It has a plunging front neckline and an even deeper plunging back . The sides are cut as wide as the bottom but once on these drape into soft side folds. Its light enough that you can belt it and wear it as a shorter tunic or as a dress, leave it loose, layer it. Great condition. Item# DD978
The Tiktiner label was formed by Dina Tiktiner Viterbo, in Nice, France and catered to the jet set crowd of the day. The garments produced were of very high quality and had a beautiful European flare to them. This coat is a stunning example of what they did and a gorgeous coat to boot! Made of plush mohair, hand dyed to the perfect shade of red it has that easy over sized feel that makes you want to snuggle in and never take it off. Wide sleeves are cuffed and all the edges are finished with a double stitch to create a wide flat edge. Pockets sit on each front and it has the perfect hood too! It is amazing and looks to have never been worn! Excellent condition! Item# C180
I seriously love this red and black graphic Jean Varon dress! It is really one of the best prints I have had from him. Billowing, graphic sleeves are cuffed at the wrist with a wide panel of ruched and elastic banding. This same banding detail is used again at the waist with a darling little ruffled added underneath. The dramatic print really highlights the loose lines of the piece - you get the effect of softness and edgy at the same time. I love the high neck with the attached ties - it adds a bit of secretary naughty. The skirt is full and flirty. Truly a find and in excellent condition.
Sleeves: approx 28" long but pouf when worn
Bust: no defined side seams as the sleeves come out form the top of the waist band

Elastic panel at the waist is 4"
This is a very rare and early Bob Mackie piece that precedes his own label and was produced in tandem with Ray Aghayan. This is from the same client I acquired the other Mackie from and her mother purchased both directly from the designer(s). Made of a stretch silk jersey it is a sexy one shoulder silhouette. Onto the front of the bodice that has a shoulder strap is an elaborate and beautiful beaded Native American feel bird that has been hand applied to the dress. It is made entirely of turquoise, coral and wood beads and edged in silver round bead work. The "tail" is a dramatic cascade of long beaded fringe that goes almost to the hem! This Trigere dress is a work of perfect construction. It is hard to find pieces that can work for modern office wear sometimes but this one is a definite contender. It could easily go from boardroom to dinner and pairing it with this season's colorful shoes would make for a fantastic look. Made of a almost chunky feeling wool in tones of grey. It has a slight texture to it that really adds visual interest. The neck is very high at the front and the bust and shoulders are kept simple. It skims over the body in a simple column that carries through to the hem. All the detail work on this dress centers around the seaming and those amazing side pockets that are built into the knit - just beautiful and so sculptural in feel. This three piece set is a fabulous early Oscar De La Renta from his Miss Dior label that completely captures that gypsy, bohemian feel that was all the rage in the seventies. It is just as fresh and relevant now and has the added bonus of being able to be worn as separates. The skirt is just spectacular - it is a tiered, frilled ruffled extravaganza that cascades from a nipped in waist. The striping goes horizontal on the skirt while the top offers an interesting contrast with the striping placed vertically. The same horizontal placement is picked up on that ruffled collar and cuffs! The top is cut to blouse and be loose. The wide open neckline sits slightly off shoulder or can drape with just one shoulder left bare for a bit of extra sex appeal. It has its original sash - a real rarity as these tend to be long gone after all the years since they have been around but this one is all original and complete! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition

This vintage Lanvin set is seriously fabulous. It is made up of a pant and button front top with a matching fabric tie. The fabric that it is made of was considered one of the new "miracle fabrics" of the day as they gave women the option to wash and wear and travel with pieces that needed little or no ironing once you arrived at your destination. Lanvin began producing amazing pieces from these jerseys in the early 1970s to appeal to their younger, jet set clients. The set is made from a dark brown and cafe au lait colored jersey that has the Lanvin logo and Paris address turned into a graphic print. The pants have an elastic running through the waist for an easy and comfortable fit. The legs are cut wide with an almost bell bottom feel. The top is cut with a nod to a jacket in feel with its dramatic pointed collar and button cuffs on the sleeves. The original fabric belt adds shape at the waist and finishes the look. Wear together for a strong statement or break up the set and wear them as separates with other pieces in your closet for lots of styling options. Excellent condition

Like the amazing multi-colored jumpsuit I also have on the site right now by Lanvin, this is a fabulous example of the pieces being done by Lanvin in the 60s and 70s! At that time synthetic jerseys were the new miracle fabrics and Lanvin jumped on that (then) high tech wagon and began producing amazing pieces that were easy to wear and care for and looked like a million bucks on. They appealed to their younger, jet set client and still manage to seem fresh now. This is a great basic black version that is in what sees to be, unworn condition. It zips at the front so you can choose to wear it as low as you dare. The sleeves are long and lean and the collar appropriately pointed. The original tie belt cinches in the waist and the result is one long, supermodel silhouette. I love the wide pants that end just at the ankle - the perfect length to show off a spectacular show to offset the black. Amazing and in excellent condition.</>

This is a sexy, short and fabulous little dress made of a slinky, fluid very thin jersey! Onto this little rhinestones are applied at the front. It has that coveted Gianni Versace Couture label that dates prior to his demise and his sexy rock and roll chic aesthetic shines on this dress! The cut is unabashedly female and chic - it has an almost dancer costume feel to it and you can't help but feel sexy if you can fit it! The dress is suspended by two tiny spaghetti straps. The front and back dip low and then it skims over the waist and at the hip flares out in a skirt cut asymmetrically in length! The skirt is bias cut and the super short for lots of leg to show. It weighs almost nothing so wearing it feels amazing. It is really a gorgeous and daring dress. Excellent condition.

This to me is one of the Holy Grail's if you are a lover of Jean Varon pieces. It is instantly recognizable as one of his pieces and just captures that contrast of sex and geek chic that only the seventies seemed to hit perfectly on the head and everyone has tried to copy since. Made of a knit that is crossed stitched in tiny vertical rows that give it an amazing amount of structure and keep it from loosing its shape. The yarn used is fine and looped within these tiny rows of stitching. It almost creates a boucle feel but is entirely unique. You cannot help but zero in on the low plunge front with its wide set neckline that barely manages to cover the bust. And yet once on it stays in place remarkably well. The skirt flows from the high waistline and I love the contrasting detailing on all the edges. Everything about this dress is beautiful and it is in remarkable, seemingly unworn condition - even the label is as crisp and white as the day it was made. Museum quality condition

This is a drop dead gorgeous piece that is completely versatile! Another iconic Jean Varon design it has been constructed out a super glossy flat pile synthetic velvet that is a true deep deep forest green. The photos do not come close to capturing the depth and glossiness of the color and how it catches the light when the wearer moves. It can be worn as both a fantastic and show stopping evening coat or can be worn as a dress if kept done up! The coat's design is based on volume and draping. Each sleeve billows to the wrist and is gathered at the wrist in pleat work, The collar is high and again gathered there. The back is constructed with flat pleats that widen as they near the hem to give it lots of volume and movement. Similar pieces reside in museums around the world and it is fantastic example of his work on in the most striking of all the colors I have ever seen this done in. Very dramatic! Excellent, museum quality condition!

Trigere really was a master at cut and construction and this unusual and rare numbered sample dress is a showcase of her work. Made of a fine black wool crepe, it's shape is completely formed though the use of vertical seaming. The shoulders are high and gathered and a precursor to the movement that begins in the early eighties. These strong shoulders lean to a skinny wrist and hand set zippers allow the wearer to have a snug fit. The bodice scoops down in a plunge that is cut on the curve and the skirt flares out in a gentle A-line. Fine silk flowers are hand cut and then machine embroidered around their edges. These are then applied single and stacked around the hem for a bit of edginess. It has its original tie belt that can add a little definition to the waist, or can be worn on the head or around the neck, or even wrapped around a wrist! Immaculately made and in excellent condition.

This dress has the coveted, earliest Janice Wainwright at Forty Seven Poland Street label! Pieces with this label are the earliest of her pieces and really showcase her talent from day one. This is a fine wool, lightweight tunic cut dress with wide, almost kimono cut bell sleeves and a simple waist-less shift cut. Her signature embroidery abounds with the entire shoulder covered in it and the cuffs also having three rows of a waved design. She also loved to pipe her seam edging and all this is exactly how she finished this dress. It has the same vibe for me as the Isabel Marant collection this fall which is someone ironic given that it would have been designed and made some 40 odd years ago! A fantastic and versatile piece that is in excellent, museum quality condition!

I love the lightness of the chiffon and the brilliant mix of the perfect hue of pink mixed with tropical oranges, greens and deep azure blues. It is cut on the bias through the skirt and the chiffon is slightly transparent so that the pink lining gives it extra depth of color. The bodice is gathered into two sexy triangles with 4 tiny straps that spray across the shoulder and down to meet the low cut back. A panel of fabric sits under the bust to help accentuate the waist and then the skirt flows beautifully to the floor - there are yards an yards of fabric in that gorgeous skirt! It comes with a wide swath of matching fabric formed to be worn as a light wrap over the shoulders or as a long scarf. This Suzy Perette dress is a beauty! It is made of soft cotton that has a stunning combination of deep blues flowers with pops of greens screened onto it. The bodice is kept simple and fitted to the body with a wide shoulder for a hint of collarbone. The waist nips in and then flows into a beautiful full skirt that is attached tot he waist in a series of perfect, small, flat pleats. I love the little to-the-elbow sleeves and scooped neck. The back is scooped slightly lower then the front for a bit of added sexiness! The skirt has the perfect amount of fullness that allows you wear it with or without a crinoline and not be too overwhelmed by volume. Amazing, pretty and in excellent condition. Item# DD1001
Oleg Cassini was known to be the Couturier of Camelot and dressed Jacqueline Kennedy on many, many occasions. This is a beautiful example of his early work during that time period and has that coveted "Jackie O" look and feel with its perfect cut and simplicity of design. Dresses from this time period can be deceptively simple but are cut exceedingly well so that they really give a girl a beautiful, sexy silhouette and still have a look of lady-like refinement. It is made of a linen cotton mix, heavy enough to give it weight and structure but not so heavy as to feel uncomfortable when on. It is entirely embroidered with a light yarn and the design is set on the dress to add to the illusion of curves. I love the peaked front of the bodice and the slim skirt. His older pieces in such great excellent condition are hard to find as they where cherished and worn to pieces. Excellent condition

A gorgeous and early Geoffrey Beene dress with an amazing dotted print and cut! The bodice is fitted with long sleeves and a high neckline. The skirt twirls out from the waist and is amazingly full - it reminds me of a skater skirt or a 1950s circle skirt it has so much fabric in it. It is so adorable on and that full skirt combined with the dot pattern is so chic! The waist nips in above that full skirt for a barbie doll silhouette. The fabric is a polished silk I believe - it has enough weight to help hold the shape and structure of the dress but is comfortable to wear. It closes at the front so you could wear the neckline open if you wish! Excellent condition. Item# DD1003
