Incredible 1980s Bob Mackie Main Label Fully Sequin & Beaded Oversized Casino Themed Jacket

• This jacket dates to the 1980s and is from Bob Mackies main label.
• It was made under the creative direction of Bob Mackie
• It is interesting to know that the twin of this jacket was owned by Whitney Houston and that was just recently auctioned fetching a price of $5760 after auction fees were applied. We also found photos of one worn by Olivia Joan Galli giving you a great idea of how amazing this is once on.
• The other added note of interest for this particular jacket is that my client bought it at an Amfar gala auction and it was sold as being a part of Mackie's archive.
• The cut is deliberately oversized. This one has a very oversized feel and it is a size medium. I found it fascinating that the one that Whitney owned was a size large, making it in theory even more oversized than this one (even if she was tall).
• The jacket is fully covered in beads and sequins and has a casino theme. You can clearly see all of the casino themed motifs that cover the jacket. The auction that sold the twin of this noted that the 777 was Whitney's lucky number.
• The shoulders are sloped and have padding inside for shape. The sleeves are long with a slightly wider feeling cut to them.
• Through the body it is full and open. It is meant to be more oversized once on the body rather than fitted.
• The jacket is fully lined in a black silk and has no closures. It slips on to wear. Its oversized cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes and it will just feel more oversized on a smaller frame.
• Tagged a vintage Mackie medium
• Excellent condition
