1920s Silk Devore & Chiffon Flapper Robe
This robe was carefully stored and is in extraordinary condition. The fabric is strong and it is a wonderfully constructed garment. This is a stunning robe that has a beautiful black velvet pattern on a silk chiffon base. This is layered over an interior cream silk base and the edges of the sleeves, collar and hem are then finished with wide panels of a fine silk. The silk is strong and the cut will fit a variety of sizes. It is really amazing to find something that is almost 100 years old in this kind of condition! Though this would have been meant for the boudoir it can be mixed into a modern day girl's wardrobe quite easily. Excellent condition!
Fully lined and has no closures. It is in what I would consider excellent shape with no apparent flaws other then one small faint watermark on the inside lining! Please remember that pieces of this age will have a natural patina and should not be expected to be absolutely perfect (though this is close)! It is after all almost 100 years old!
Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. - items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
