1920s Amazing Embroidered Silk Jacket Coat

The Western world in the twenties had a great fascination with all things art deco and oriental and places like Japan began to export pieces made specifically for the tourist market. These pieces combined classic design elements of the Japanese culture with a slight western twist to the cut and colors. You often will see the jacket but the coats are a little harder to find and far more versatile in my opinion. These were the most prized both then and now. This one is stunning and done in a high grade, fine black silk and is completely embroidered with absolutely brilliant colors. The pattern and design are exquisite and I love the little figures. It was carefully stored and looks as new as the day it was made. Vibrant and beautiful blossoms are worked around the figures and buildings depicted. Excellent, appears unworn condition. Extremely wearable!

Fully lined in black silk, it closes with frog knots at the front. Pockets at each front hip

Sleeves: 22"
Shoulder: 16" (slightly dropped)
Bust: 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: 21" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: 24" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Length: 38" from mid back at the neck to bottom of the jacket hem

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.
