I Have a Question
- This is original Haute Couture who's twin walk the runway for Fall 1985.
- The suit was made under the creative direction of Emanuel Ungaro.
- This would have been completely made by hand in the Paris atelier.
- This is a stunning two piece set done in a houndstooth black-and-white check on a fine wool feeling fabric.
- The jacket is a classic cut of his from this time period. It features wider set strong shoulders and is meant to feel more oversized through the upper bodies. The waist is cinched in with the double row of faceted dome buttons that sit at the front and the dramatic peplum under that. This cut is what gives you that fantastic exaggerated hourglass feel that the best of his work has.
- The front wraps over itself and buttons in at the waist. The collar is very wide and notched and covers almost the entire upper bodice. Under that the hips flared dramatically out all the way around you.
- The shape of the bottom peplum is achieved by having the panels of the jacket shaped and cut to widen out just under the waist. This gives you those brilliant little flares but without adding extra seams. It is the kind of detail you look for in a couture piece.
- The sleeves are full and they come down to a more narrow cuff detailed with four of the same facetted jet coloured buttons that are slightly smaller than the ones at the front.
- The skirt has a band at the waist and then it is cut in a slim pencil shape to just pass the knee, depending on your height. Pockets sit on each hip and the pockets add a little bit of shape around the upper hip.
- Both pieces are fully lined in a handset black silk. The jacket buttons to close. The button on the sleeves are decorative. The skirt closes at the side with a zipper and hooks at the waist. The shoulders have padding. All of the hand work is to Haute Couture standards throughout.
- There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below
- There are a couple nicks in the skirt at the front as seen in the photo added here. Otherwise excellent condition

I Have a Question
- The twin of this gorgeous suit walked the Fall 2008 runway as Look 22
- It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano
- The show celebrated the 1960s with the opening music Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson'. The models were styled with a nod to the 60s but in a highly exaggerated way.
- Galliano said of the show "I am always looking for heroines who make me dream"
- The suit is made from an oversized and exaggerated black and white check in a fine wool which keeps it light in weight but has enough structure to allow it to hold its intended shape perfectly.
- The collar is edged in a black patent leather strip, and this continues down the front and all the way around the hem. It also details the ends of each sleeve, the bottom of the skirt, the tops of the pockets and is used to create a little half bow that sits just off centre of the neck.
- The shoulders are rounded and sloped with a soft feel. The sleeves fall just above the wrist and they are very wide. Each is a full 16" around by the cuff.
- The body of the jacket is cut boxy and wide for an easy fit. Two little slit pockets sit on each side and both still have their original tacking in place.
- The skirt has a sleek and simple cut. It flares out as it near the hem and will sit at about the knee depending on your height.
- Both pieces are lined in a black silk. The jacket snaps to closed under the patent panel with hidden set oversized silk covered snaps. The skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper
- Both pieces are tagged at FR38, GB10, IT42, US6.
- Excellent condition and appears unworn.

I Have a Question
- The dress was made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
- It is made of a pretty ivory silk crepe.
- It falls from one shoulder and is very sleek feeling from the front.
- At the back the shoulder extends into a thinner strap that runs on an angle across you. The rest of your upper back is left bare and open.
- There is a rhinestone encrusted buckle at the base of that strap and then that extends into a long panel that goes to the floor for a beautiful detail at the back.
- The back is longer than the front with a slightly trained feel so it's sweeps behind you as you move.
- The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk and it closes with an offset hidden set zipper.
- Overall excellent collection with some minor feel of wear and perhaps the tiniest bit of colour change around the edges here and there but very minor, two tiny faint spots. Please see the photos after the label shot.

emilio pucci
Runway Spring 2013 Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Look 41 White Silk Halter Dress w Pockets
I Have a Question
- This is the second time that I have had this dress in the shop and I still love it as much now as I did then.
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 41 for the Spring 2013 collection.
- Vogue said of the Collection; "When Peter Dundas inherited this historic Florentine house—famous since the 1960s for its kaleidoscopic prints—he made reworked archival patterns a major part of his story line. Last season and this one, though, he's started inching away from them. These days, the label is just as well known for Dundas' confident, louche brand of glamour as it once was for its founder's graphic swirls and geometries."
- It was one of three white dresses that close the show before the final red look.
- The dress is made out of a light silk that is light in weight but just heavy enough to keep the structure. It is very close to a true white.
- The front neckline is done in a halter style with the upper part above the bust line finished an a white netting that has a secondary abstract print work through it. This allows you to see the skin underneath. The front is gathered over the breasts almost like a bandeau and seamed in the centre.
- Under that is an open cut out for a bit more skin to show.
- The dress curves in to follow the waist under that and and skims over the hips.
- The skirt falls to the floor and widens out quite a bit as it nears the hem. This gives the dress incredible movement when you walk and you get a sense of that in the runway video.
- I love the loose slightly draped pockets that sit on each hip.
- The back is mostly open with a criss cross of straps and an open cut out between the waist and the back strap.
- Decorative frog knots sit at the low waist for added detail.
- The dress is fully lined through the bodice and the skirt is unlined. It closes at the side with a hidden set zipper. Light boning and padding through the bodice.
- Because the upper body is lined and padded when it is off the body it feels like the fabric is a touch darker as it is completely opaque. Once on its fine and the lining is needed
- Tagged a modern Pucci IT42, FR38, US8, UK10.
- Excellent condition with some faint marks here and there around the hem.

I Have a Question
- Documented to the 1978 collection
- The dress was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston.
- In 2016 a red version was worn by Kate Moss at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
- Martha Hunt wore the twin of this dress from us to Cannes in 2019 and she landed on several Best Dressed lists.
- These were issued on a variety of colours and this one is a wonderful and quite rare ivory version.
- The dress is suspended by one hook at the shoulder.
- The inner part of the dress has a high slit cut into the side that travels up the side of the leg opposite to the draped side.
- Attached to that inner sheath lies a draped panel of jersey that is suspended from the shoulder. It falls from that shoulder down and over the front and the back of the dress.
- The dress slips on to wear and has a hook at the top of the shoulder to hold it in place.
- These will fit a variety of sizes since they are not cut to be super fitted and the jersey does have some stretch.
- There is no size tag present and I have put the comfortable range of measurements when laying flat below.
- I see a very slight mark on the back near the edge otherwise excellent condition.

ossie clark
Iconic 1972 Ossie Clark Couture Black Moss Crepe Open Back Wrapped Dress w Bishop Sleeves
I Have a Question
- This is one of his most iconic and collectible designs.
- The dress made under the creative direction of Ossie Clark
- Ossie named all of his couture dress and this one is known as the Cuddly.
- To wear the dress you simply slip it on and wrap it at the waist where it ties into place.
- The dress is made out of his signature moss crepe.
- The front is cut in a low plunge because of the wrap and the back has a large triangle cut out that leaves your full back bare and exposed.
- It is very sexy and instantly recognizable as being an Ossie Clark piece.
- The sleeves are phenomenal. Each is a huge bishop cut sleeves that are puffed and full above the cuffs.
- The skirt skims over the hips and then widens out to be quite full with yards of fabric in its construction.
- The wrap leaves a long overlapped slit at the front. When you stand still it falls and closes but when you move or sit you get a flash of leg and depending on how tight you tie out around the waist you can show the entire leg.
- The dress is unlined and made out of a black moss crepe.
- One tie is a little shorter then the other but does not appear to have been altered. The wrap style should allow it to fit a variety of sizes.
-
Tagged a vintage UK10
- I see some very minor bit of lighter areas on the moss crepe here and there. This is a natural patina on this type of fabric as in ages and is only mentioned for accuracy.
- Excellent condition

I Have a Question
- This is a late 1960s, early 1970s very recognizable and collectible design.
- The dress was made under the creative direction of Ossie Clark.
- it is made out of a semi-transparent black and silver metallic knit lurex fabric that is ultra light in weight so it is very easy and comfortable to wear.
- A silver thread that run through the net from head to toe and this gives it a touch of glitter in the light from every angle.
- It has a plunge neckline with a gathered detailing at the base of the neckline.
- Coming out from that are attached ties that you can use to cinch in the waist as much as you need.
- Those sleeves are phenomenal and each is a very full balloon cut.
- The dress is unlined and zips to close at the back. Each cuff has elastic at the wrist and the attached ties allow you to bring the waist in.

I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the Spring 2002 runway for Look 94 which was the closing look of the show.
- Made under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino.
- Sela Ward wore the twin of this dress to the Golden Globes that year and Claudia Schiffer wore it for a Valentino event that year as well giving the dress a phenomenal fashion historical provenance.
- The dress is made out of a feather light Valentino red silk taffeta that moves beautifully and you can see just how beautifully it moves in the runway video.
- The upper bodice is almost shocking even now with its bare cut. I can't imagine the impact this would have had in 2002. The entire thing ties with bows. One is set on the outer part of each shoulder and then it has three that run down the front.
- Each shoulder has a little hidden strap underneath the bows and it is cut very wide across so that you can wear it off the shoulder. They are sitting slightly more on top of the shoulders in the photos done for you here on my dress form but you can see in the other reference photos that it can be worn right off the shoulder.
- From there panels extend and tie in bows down the front of the dress. One sits between the breasts, one at your midriff and then one is tucked into place so that it angles down slightly lower below the belly button. This leaves cut outs of bare skin exposed all the way down the front.
- It is remarkable how the dress still feels elegant and refined even with those exposed cut outs. This is the genius of the original Mr. Valentino in full display.
- From there the skirt billows out around you and has built-in tulle under skirts to help hold the volume and shape. It gets wider as it near the ground so that is is very full. The silk is set in horizontal panels that expand outwards around you as it nears the hem.
- The entire dress is virtually weightless with spectacular movement around you
- It is lined in a second layer of the same silk through the bodice and has an attached tulle netting under skirt. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and you can adjust the fit slightly with the bows at the front.
- There are a couple tiny areas near the seams that have been repaired or show slight stress and you can see where it was let out a touch at the sides of the bodice. The fabric of the bows have wrinkles in them that seem to be there to stay. Very minor but mentioned for accuracy. I feel like the silk has softened a touch perhaps from its original crispness but again this is very minor and mentioned for accuracy.
- There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below. The bust and waist can be adjusted a bit by loosening or tightening the bows.
- The measurements below reflect the measurements as the bows are currently tied in these photos.
- Excellent condition

I Have a Question
- A gorgeous red Versace made under the creative direction of Donatella Versace.
- The dress is made out of a red silk mix that has a crepe like finish to it that gives it a textured finish.
- It falls from a twisted shoulder that curves up one side. On the other side a thin strap runs over the shoulder, crosses down the back, and then snaps into place along the side.
- Inside there is a full cupped and boned inner body suit corset to hold the dress in place and shape it over you.
- A panel extends out from one side of the waist and loops through a built-in loop there and snaps into place. This gives the illusion of a panel that drapes down the full front but it is all built in and attached.
- Multiple strands of chains and rhinestones extend out from where that loops sits and they cross & drape over each other to wrap around the waist and down the hip and then attach in along the back.
- It skims over the hips and flares out from there. The skirt is very full by the time it reaches the hem.
- All of that fabric conceals an extremely high slit up one side so when you walk or move you get a flash of bare leg.
- The side with the slit is cut slightly shorter and this gives you a beautiful sweeping effect around you as you move.
- Inside there is a full built-in bodysuit that snaps to close at its base and then the dress closes with a hidden side zipper.
- Tagged a vintage Versace 42.
- Excellent condition with a tiny darkening here and there near the hem.

thierry mugler
Museum Held 1986 Thierry Mugler Gold Feather Light Lame Dress w Gathered Sides
I Have a Question
- This dress has been dated by the one that is its twin and was part of the 2014 exhibit 'Chicago Styled'.
- It was made under the creative direction of Thierry Mugler.
- The dress is made out of a light in weight metallic gold fabric that drapes beautifully and is perhaps a touch paler gold than how it photoed here.
- The dress is cut with Mugler's masterful eye and attention to detail.
- It drapes up and over the shoulders with wide panels of the gold. On one side the fabric is heavily gathered and hooks in at the waist underneath. On the other side the dress comes out from under that and is not as gathered so that it falls more down and over the top of the shoulder.
- The side with the wider shoulder is set into a panel that runs down the opposite side of the dress.
- This panel is finished with gold studs and this is where the dress closes. The panel runs all the way down the side to where it splits for the hem. There is even a weight added inside the base of the panel to hold the dress perfectly in place.
- The body of the dress is all gathered into that side panel. It wraps around you and then is gathered into the panel at the back. This creates incredible draping down the body and around you.
- The vertical side panel draws the dress up a few inches above the hem and this then creates a bit of an angled curve along the lower hem of the dress that beautifully picks up the angles on the bodice.
- This is a spectacular and very rare example of his work.
- The dress snaps to close where you see the studs at the side and underneath that there is a hidden set zipper. A grosgrain ribbon wraps around the waist and is attached to the part of the bodice that tucks underneath the crossing over at the front to hook to close inside the dress. It is very cleverly put together.
- I love how the entire dress shimmers in the light because of the gold metallic fabric.
- The dress is partially lined through the bodice and fully lined through the skirt. There are little padding shells set through the inner shoulders but it feels like their inner padding has been removed at some point. It would be easy to add padding back in if you preferred a stronger shoulder.
- There is no size tag present so please go by the listed measurements below.
- Excellent condition
Bust: approx 14-19" flat across from side seam to side seam
Inner hooked stay at waist: 12.5" flat across from side seam to side seam. Without the stay the waist is 13.75" flat across

vicky tiel
1984 Vicky Tiel Couture Metallic Gold Lame Gathered & Draped Strapless Dress
I Have a Question
- We dated the dress to 1984 based on a very similar dress reference photo that we found.
- Made under the creative direction of Vicky Tiel
- The dress has the added modern provenance of being worn by both Julianne Hough and by Liz Gillies.
- The dress is made of a metallic gold lame fabric that is light in weight so despite the elaborate construction of the dress. It is just heavy enough to hold the intended shape fabulously.
- The bodice is strapless and the entire dress is elaborately gathered and fitted around the bust with hand placed and gathered folds.
- There is a built in internal structure with light boning. The boning extends at the sides down and around the hips to help to hold the hourglass shape around the body.
- The waist is nipped in and then it curves out and over the hips.
- Under that the skirt falls in a straight long pencil silhouette with a vent up the back to allow you to walk and move.
- The gold glimmers in the light and it is one of the best Vicky Tiel dresses that I have ever had in the shop.
- Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with a painted metal and nylon zipper at the back. Boning through the bodice and sides.
- Tagged a vintage Tiel 38.

I Have a Question
- A fabulous dress from the late 1990s
- Made under the creative direction of Gianni Versace
- The dress is very sexy with its cut out and made of a stretch fabric that hugs and shapes the body.
- The colour is a bright chartreuse that is just exceptional.
- There is light padding in each shoulder, and this holds the dress and gives it a tapered field to the waist.
- It skims over the body and then is gathered in a long, one side all the way around. The other side has been left open and is meant to drape down on the top of one hip. This leaves a bear exposed cut out on that side that wraps around to the back.
- The fabric has been gathered under the hip on that side, and then the skirt falls from narrowing down as it reaches the ham.
- There is a high slit on one side that goes right to the bottom of the gathering on the hip and there is a little quirky gathering on the opposite side to that sitting several inches above the hem.
- All of these gatherings and cut out give it a really sculptural feel around the body.
- It's fully lined in a more Matt version of the same stretch material. The fabric does have stretch so the measurement below or the comfortable range when the dress is laying flat. It has no closures and slips on to wear.
- Tagged a vintage Versace 38

karl lagerfeld
Fabulous Fall 1995 Karl Lagerfeld Runway Black Net Dress w Velvet Detailing
I Have a Question
- The twin of the dress that was worn on the runway for the Fall 1995 Karl Lagerfeld show.
- He launched his self-named label in 1984 and by the 1990s it was firmly established. Pieces from his personal label were far edgier then the work he did for Chanel. It was a label where he explored a more avant garde feel with his designs and pushed the envelope more.
- The dress that is made out of a mix of a light weight black net that is backed in more layers of netting and silk chiffon.
- Onto that is a pattern made from black velvet fused onto the netting. The velvet is set to highlight the cut and lines of the dress.
- It has a slightly more bare and fitted feel through the upper bodice and then flares and widens out very dramatically to the hem.
- The fabric is light in weight but the layering underneath the top layer of netting gives it enough weight and structure to hold the shape.
- The bust drops into a V and the velvet details on the bodice are set on angles to work into a centre vertical velvet line. This same striping runs horizontally all the way around the hem. The line that runs down the centre of the bodice extends all the way to the hem and then more vertical lines go all the way around the skirt to break up it up into panels.
- The waist comes in a touch, but has a more generous feel to it, and the skirt swings in a a wide A-line.
- At the back, the dress completely opens with a series of silk covered buttons that run from neck to just above the hem.
- The bodice is lined in another layer of the same netting and the skirt has three more layers of netting under the top layer and an inner nude silk chiffon layer under those. It closes at the back with the series of buttons that you see.
- Excellent condition.

loris azzaro
1990s Loris Azzaro Black Stretch Jersey Dress w Chiffon Angel Sleeves & Black Sequin Detailing
I Have a Question
- Loris Azzaro launched his label in 1967 and quickly defined his trademark looks by using ornate beading, sequins, daring cut-outs and avant garde ways of defining the body.
- Some of the most beautiful women in the world wore his clothing including Marisa Berenson, Raquel Welch, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Tina Turner.
- The dress is made out of a black jersey through the body, which allows it some give, and then the remarkable sleeves are made out of a fine black chiffon.
- The lightness of the fabric used for the sleeves gives them incredible movement once this is on the body.
- The neckline sits wide across the neck and then it is edged in a row of overlapping black sequins.
- It skims over the body from there, past the bust, waist and hips to open out slightly as it nears the hem.
- Onto the front of the dress are five curving seams that are highlighted with a band of sequins. They almost give the impression of slashes across the front of the dress. The final sequin band curves down to meet the top of a slit that allows for some bare leg to show when you walk.
- The sleeves fall over the shoulders and are completely open along their insides. Once on the body these cascade all the way down to the hem of the dress and create the most incredible moment. The chiffon that they are made of keeps them ultralight so as you move they catch the slightest bit of air to swirl and billow around you.
- It is an incredibly easy dress to wear and incredibly glamorous once on the body.
- Unlined and slips on to to wear with a hidden set side zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. The fabric does have some stretch and the measurements below are the comfortable range when laying flat
- Excellent condition.

yves saint laurent
Dreamy Spring 1980 Yves Saint Laurent Runway Feather Light Iridescent Pink Silk Dress
I Have a Question
- A phenomenal dress whose twin walk the runway for the Spring 1980 YSL show.
- Made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
- The dress is made out of a feather light pink silk that has an iridescent metallic finish to it that catches the light beautifully.
- The neck line is set wide across so you can wear it off of the shoulder for a bare expanse of skin to show. A wide 7" ruffle follows the entire neckline and gives the prettiest flounce all the way around you.
- Under that the bodice skims down to a low dropped waist that is cut more generously through the middle. The dress comes with its matching silk tie belt that you can cinch in the waist as much as needed.
- The skirt is set into a slightly angled seam around the waist that comes up slightly at one side. Tiny gathered pleats are set in all along the seam and that is what gives the skirt its incredible volume.
- The skirt falls shorter at the front and longer at the back. If you were to lay this out and open the skirt it is more than a full circle around. That volume combined with the lightness of the fabric gives you incredible movement when you move.
- This is an absolutely stunning example of his work during this time period and one of my favourite pieces I have ever had in by him.
- The dress is unlined and weighs very little. It closes with a side set zipper and the tie belt is original to the dress.
- Tagged a YSL 36
- If I am being very picky there are perhaps a couple faded marks with some of the folds but you would never see them. There is an area near the front waist with a mark. Please see the photo after the label shot. It is fully covered once the belt is on.
- Overall excellent condition

I Have a Question
- A very pretty dress made under the creative direction of Pierre Cardin.
- I love the colour of this dress and that the silk it is made of has a very slight iridescent feel to it.
- The bodice is cut to skim over you and the neckline is cut in a slight scoop at the front and a deeper one at the back.
- The entire bodice has been done in long vertical flat pleats and each exactly matches it neighbour. This adds a pretty detail and also gives the bodice some structure.
- The sleeves are extremely full and they billow out over the top of the arm. At their very tops where they are set into the arm they have had that same flat pleat treatment which helps to add support and hold the volume.
- The waist comes in just slightly and the pleating continues past the waist to the top of the hip. From there the skirt curves out with a pretty volume. Between how the pleats open and the fabric choice the intended shape of a skirt is kept beautifully.
- The fabric also keeps the dress very light in weight.
- The skirt is unlined and the top is lined in a matching pink silk. It closes with a hidden set back zipper.
- I see a bit of teeny wear here and there at the edges.
- Excellent condition

christian dior
Christian Dior by Marc Bohan Spring 1988 Haute Couture Black Strapless w Bow
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walk the runway for the Spring 1988 show.
- Made under the creative direction of Marc Bohan for Christian Dior.
- The evening portion of the collection focused on short dresses that had a corseted waist and bust with wrapping techniques that gave the feel of a sarong. The dress is a wonderful example of that feel he was after and it is fantastic.
- We found a teeny slice of it or a very similar piece on the runway and even though the photo shows the model on an angle, it does give you an idea of how wonderful this will be on the body.
- This would have been made completely by hand in the Paris atelier.
- The fabric of this dress is fantastic. It is made out of a black silk organza that has been gathered so it has a slight 3D puffed effect. This creates an incredible texture over the dress.
- The fabric is light in weight and despite the elaborate construction of the dress is not at all heavy once it is on.
- Inside the dress has a full proper corset with boning through the bodice to give you some support and built in cups. A wide grosgrain ribbon hooks in place around the inner waist to hold everything perfectly in place.
- All of the seams are finished by hand and it is really is a nod back to the early couture days in terms of it's construction.
- The bodice is cut with a curving sweetheart neckline and it is meant to hug the body. It is elaborately gathered and fitted around the bust with all of the gathered folds coming in to the seams that run over the bodice. This is all done to emphasize your curves and it make the dress very flattering once on.
- It nips in at the waist and there is a large and elaborate bow that sets at the base of an angle seem coming from the bust. I love how this is set to curve around the hip to the back. It instantly adds to the hourglass field the dress has.
- From under the bow, the skirt curves down and over with to wrap around you and then come back in and under that panel to give it that wrapped sarong feel.
- Fully lined in a black silk and closes with a side set zipper. The interior of the bodice is boned and cupped for support. The inner corset closes with its own zipper and a wide band on the interior waist hooks to close. There is a tiny bit of lightening to some of the edges on the fabric. This is a natural aging of this type of fabric and I don't consider it to be a flaw, but it is mentioned for accuracy. It otherwise appears to have never been worn, or worn very little.
- Excellent condition

yves saint laurent
Gorgeous Spring 1990 Yves Saint Laurent Runway Red Silk Crepe Wrap Dress
I Have a Question
- Its twin walked the runway for Spring 1990 and the reference photos shows how amazing it is once on an actual body.
- Made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent
- The dress has a very Old Hollywood / 1940s feel that I love.
- It is made out of a red silk crepe that drapes beautifully once on.
- The sleeves are fantastic. Each is a big balloon sleeves that puffs out dramatically over the cuffs.
- The front crosses over itself in a plunge. It wraps and snaps to close around the waist and there is a hidden snap that lets you close the V off more or you can leave that open for a full plunge. I love the versatility of this.
- The skirt is gathered in under the waist seam and then it falls to the floor and gently widens out as it near the hem. He was just a master at manipulating fabric to fall perfectly over the body.
- Fully lined in a red silk and closes with a series of snaps around the waist. More hidden snaps run down the seam at the front and there is a snap that closes the plunge more if you wish.
- Slight elastic in the cuffs and elastic around the back of the waist that make the dress very easy to fit.
- Tagged a vintage YSL 42
- I see one darkened mark near the hem at the front and two little nicks out of the fabric in that same area. These are extremely minor and just mentioned for accuracy.
- Excellent condition.

givenchy
Spring 2018 Givenchy by Clare Wright Keller Long Tie Black Front Plunge Jersey Dress
I Have a Question
- This dress was one that was produced for the shops
- Made under the creative direction of Clare Wright Keller
- Easy to wear while still being incredibly sexy. It is made out of a thicker jersey that is cut on the bias and this lets it drape beautifully over you and still be completely opaque.
- The plunge at the front gives it a very edgy and sexy feel while the jersey keeps it feeling comfortable to wear.
- The dress is made to be one long tube with a seam at the waist on the front of the dress only.
- The dress has no collar and plunges down at the front to the waist. Two long ties extend out from the base of the front plunge. You can loop or knot them and then they fall almost to the floor at the front.
- The sleeves are long and simple and the shoulders are soft.
- The skirt flares out at it reaches the floor with a high slit runs up the front so you get a flash of leg when you move
- The dress is in its original uncut supermodel length and it closes with a back hidden set zipper.
- Tagged a modern Givenchy 36
- Excellent condition with some minor grubbiness around the hem

arnold scaasi
Fall 1987 Arnold Scaasi Black Strapess Velvet & Green Full Skirt Silk Dress
I Have a Question
- Arnold Scassi launched his boutique line in 1984 and it was high end ready-to-wear and very expensive.
- Arnold Scaasi was born Arnold Isaacs in Montreal and the name Scassi is simply his own surname in reverse. He studied in Montreal and in Paris, apprenticed at the house of Paquin and then worked with the legendary Charles James. In 1964 he opened own couture salon.
- The sleeved version of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 1987 collection. It's very rare to find documentation from this time period and I love having that say that you can see how amazing it is on. I think this strapless one is even better.
- You can easily see the influence of Arnold having worked for Charles James in this piece. The lines are dramatic and yet elegant.
- The dress is strapless and the top portion of the dress is made from an inky black velvet. It is dramatically shaped at the front with wired peaks and a V plunge at the front.
- It nips in at the waist and then angles down from one side low on the hip on the other. On the side that sits higher up, there is a large bow detail that gives the effect of holding all the gathers of the skirt in place.
- The skirt is set under that and the long angling seam on the opposite hip adds visual length to the dress as it extends down and into a deep point. The skirt is quite full and the shape and volume that you see is held by the inner construction which is quite amazing.
- Layers of tulle netting set underneath the outermost layer of silk. The green of the skirt is a true brilliant emerald. This unexpected shock of colour is fantastic.
- Fully lined in a green silky rayon. The bodice is lightly boned and it closes with a hidden set side zipper. Built in stiff tulle under skirts and the skirt is interlined in a green organza.
- There is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.
- Excellent condition

givenchy
Fall 1985 Hubery de Givenchy Haute Couture Runway Plunge Black Silk Velvet Leopard Dress
I Have a Question
- From the Fall 1985 Givenchy Haute Couture collection and we have included some photos showing the extensive use of this particular fabric for pieces shown on the runway.
- Under the creative direction of Hubert de Givenchy
- Completely made by hand in the Paris atelier to Haute Couture standards.
- This gorgeous dress is made out of a black silk velvet with a leopard print done in a different finish of velvet within the fabric. This pattern gives the velvet an extra depth and richness, and also catches the light as you move. It is stunning.
- It drapes absolutely beautifully over the body. It is really an outstanding fabric. The bodice is set into a V that crosses over itself where it is set into the waist. The bodice drapes more loosely over you at the front.
- The waist is seamed and cut slightly on the more generous side. I have added a ribbon and if you wanted more shape, you could have it cinched and even more with a belt or it also works perfectly well without.
- The sleeves narrow down to a hand set zippered cuff.
- The skirt falls to the floor in a pretty sweep of fabric that is at the front. This lets the front hem curve up slightly.
- It is a gorgeous dress and a wonderful piece of his fashion history.
- Fully lined in a black silk. There's a inner built-in half skirt. It closes with an inner side set zipper and the outside snapped into place with a series of hidden set, snapped around the waist. And inner waist state hooks to close. Each cuff has a hidden set zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
- There is no size tag present so please check the listed measurements below

valentino
Fall 2015 Valentino by Pierpaolo & Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri Open Side Pleated Skirt Dress
I Have a Question
- From the Fall 2015 collection with references to its design on both the RTW Couture show.
- In 2015 Valentino was headed by both Maria Grazia Chiuri and PierPaolo Piccioli.
- The fabric is a silk that is heavy and has an almost fine wool suiting feel to it. The weight of the fabric is what holds the dress in place over you.
- The front is cut straight across the neckline and then it is brought starkly down the sides and set to sit just over the seam at the waist. This is repeated at the back with an addition of a long open keyhole that displays a slice of bare skin from neck to waist.
- This creates a rectangular cut out on either side from your shoulder to the waist.
- You can wear it bare or you can lay this over top of something.
- The waist nips in and and the skirt falls to the floor or ankle depending on your height.
- There is an amazing amount of fabric used for the skirt. It is flat pleated all the way around your waist and then each of those pleats open up at about 3 1/2 inches under the waist line to the hem.
- Inside each the open pleat are four more top stitched knife pleats that gradually open as they reach the hem. The detail that this creates all the way around the skirt when you move is amazing. When you stand still everything falls like a normal pleated skirt but when you move and they start to open and you see all those top stitched inner pleats the entire thing just comes to life.
- It beautifully executed and even better in person.
- Fully lined in a black silk through the bodice and the skirt is unlined. It closes with a button and loop at the back of the neck and a hidden set zipper that starts at the waist.
- Tagged a modern Valentino 40.
- It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
- Excellent condition

prada
Spring 2004 Prada by Miuccia Variation on Look 52 Printed Ivory Strapless Cotton Dress
I Have a Question
- This is a variation on Look 52 that walked the runway for the Spring Prada 2004 show
- Made under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada
- Vogue said of this collection: "Over almost a decade of ground-breaking experimentalism, Miuccia Prada has explored everything from irony to deliberate ugliness to intellectual subversion. She’s been there, done that, and has the souvenirs to prove it. For Spring 2004, the designer turned her attention to the stiffest fashion challenge of the day: how to make feminine, happily nostalgic clothes without rehashing the clichés of vintage?“ It was about tourism and craftsmanship, many things,” she said of a show that revisited the optimistic fifties to bring back a full set of densely packed suitcases."
- The dress is made of of an ultra fine, ultra light cotton in a deep ivory.
- It is strapless and the fabric has been done in extremely fine pleats with embroidered edges on some of the pleats. These sweep across and around the bodice. One one side the pleats are hand tacked down in a line that curves down one side. On the other side of that tacking the pleats begin to open up to sweep downwards and start to form the skirt.
- The skirt is made of five tiers of the cotton with attached under layers of silk and netting. This creates an extraordinarily beautiful draping all the way down the skirt.
- The cotton is printed with an ultra fine pattern made of fine little dots to form tiny clusters of flowers. These cover the entire dress. It is extremely beautiful and has a very delicate and feminine feel.
- Inside there is a net and cupped bodice that is lightly boned for support.
- It closes with a back zipper. An inner waist stay hooks to close. The construction of the dress is a nod to the dresses of the 1950s and it is very beautifully done.

I Have a Question
- Fall 2007 dress by John Galliano
- Made of a combination of an ivory silk chiffon that is covered in an ivory net lace
- The dress has a strong nod to the 1920s. It is generously cut through the waist and has a scooped neckline.
- Silk chiffon has been formed into little rosettes on either side of the buttons that run down the side of the dress. Panels of chiffon wrap around the waist from the flowers to add a bit of detail and shape.
- There is a long panel of silk that hangs from one of the rosettes at the front. You can allow it to just trail down the front or hook it over one of the rosettes at the back to create a pretty draping down the full side of the skirt.
- The dress is very light in weight. The silk chiffon underlay acts as the lining.
- It closes with the series of silk covered buttons down the side

oscar de la renta
Incredible 1990s Oscar de la Renta Fine Black Lace Dress w Full Ruffled Skirt
I Have a Question
- An inner waste state hooks to close. There's no there is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below. An absolutely incredible piece from the 1990s.
- Made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta
- This might be one of my favourite dresses I have had in the shop. The photos do not do it full justice and it is only when you see it in person that you realize just how beautiful it is.
- It is made out of a fine black lace. The lace completely covers the dress and I would be astounded to know how many yards of lace went into making this dress.
- The inner bodice is strapless and meant to be fitted. It is lined in a fine tissue silk and boned for support. An outer layer of lace covers the bodice and forms tiny cap sleeves. I love how this lets the upper shoulders and shoulders feel unlined so you get a peak of skin through it.
- The inner back scoops down with that a single layer of lace exterior covering you. It is very elegant but still feels very sexy.
- The waist nips in and then the dress glides over the hips to falls to the floor.
- Inside there are three layers of silk organza. Two black layers directly under the lace and then nude innermost layer. The two innermost layers both have wide bands of stiffening around the hem and the layer that sits directly under the lace has three stacked stiffened bands going up the skirt. This is what helps to hold the incredible shape and volume that you see.
- The skirt is extremely full and has so many yards of lace in its construction. The volume that you see was all created by the sheer amount of fabric, the cut and the seven lace tiers that run over the entire lower portion of the skirt.
- I love the tiers of lace that cover the lower part of the skirt. Each is set to slightly overlap the next one down. No expense was spared on the lace in the dress. Even the area between the tiers are finished with lace despite that fact that you can’t see them. Each tier's lace is set to that the edges are scalloped to follow the pattern and shape of the designs in the lace. I took a photo where I hold the skirt up on one side and this will give you an idea of the amount of yardage the skirt has. It is incredible.
- The inner construction of this dress is as good as the exterior and it is made close to a demi-couture level.
- It closes with a back zipper where the inner corset starts. The neck hooks to close and there is a keyhole between. Boned through the bodice. An inner waist state hooks to close.
- There is no there is no size tag present so please go by the measurements listed below.

I Have a Question
- George Stavropoulos was known for his evening wear and his signature looks often involved draping and the use of silk done on a bias cut. He focused on cut and fabric to convey the beauty of each piece. It was said that his gowns 'seemed to float on air'.
- He launched his label in 1960 and soon was dressing women like Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, Barbra Streisand and Maria Callas. The majority of his gowns are almost entirely made by hand and to couture standards.
- The dress is made out of a feather light black silk that has tiny little red lines that highlight the cut and line of the dress.
- The neckline is cut straight across and the dress is suspended from tiny straps that curve up and over the shoulders.
- The bodice is more fitted and the waist nips in.
- From there the skirt falls in this extravagant swoosh of bias cut silk to the floor. It skims over the hips and then widens out substantially by the hem.
- The striping is set on angles over the dress and helps to add shape. I love the unexpected red lining through the skirt that picks up on that red stripe. When you sit or move you get these little flashes of it that is fantastic.
- There is a slight elastic around the top of the dress and I think you could wear this as a strapless piece and just tuck the little straps in if you wished.
- Fully lined in a red silk and it closes with a side set zipper.
- Excellent condition and appears unworn.

I Have a Question
- The twin of this jacket walked the runway for Look 6 for the Fall 2015 collection.
- From the Junya Watanabe for Commes des Garcons line.
- For the show Junya focused on the honeycomb and he said that he wanted to explore "dimensionality through clothing" the point where mathematics and nature meet.
- This particular jacket explores the use of the hexagon and triangle and the jacket is meticulously pieced together. You also see the nod to the honeycomb in the pattern of the oversized waffle weave print that adds texture over the entire jacket.
- The sleeves are shaped to follow the shape of the arm and the fabric is all gathered into a complex design under the base of the shoulder. You see this repeated at the front of the bodice and the interesting shape it creates around the neckline. I have taken a photo of the jacket hanging on a hanger as well as the dress form so you can get a better idea of this.
- Around the edge of the hip are little insets triangles that create a exaggerated peplum. You can see how beautifully the shape this creates once it is on the body.
- The jacket is fully lined in the second layer of the same fabric as the exterior and buttons to close down the front.
- It comes with its original packet that has extra fabric and the jacket appears to have never been worn.

christian lacroix
2000s Christian Lacroix Red Floral Brocade Dress or Jacket w Cording Detail
I Have a Question
- A gorgeous and striking piece that can be worn as a jacket or a dress.
- Made under the creative direction of Christian Lacroix
- The piece zips up at the front and fully opens. This is why it can play double duty as either a dress or a jacket.
- The fabric has a black backdrop and then has beautiful flowers woven through it in a deep red and an almost purple colour.
- It has no collar and the front is detailed with a wide band on either side of the zipper that has a swooping pattern made out of a cord applied onto the fabric. This panel extends down the back with more cording there as well.
- The waist is brought in and seamed and then the skirt under that is pleated into that seam. This allows it to be very full.
- Little pockets sit on each side of the hip so you can put your hands into the pockets and exaggerate the fullness of the skirt even more.
- The sleeves are wonderful. They are set into a slightly dropped shoulder and widen out to be quite wide by their ends.

john galliano
Amazing Spring 2002 John Galliano Black Bias Cut Logo Dress w Sweeping Back
I Have a Question
- This is a signature bias cut dress from the Spring 2002 collection by John Galliano
- Made under the creative direction of John Galliano
- There are no closures on the dress. It is completely cut bias and you just slip it over the head to wear and it just falls into place skimming over the body from head to toe.
- The cut of the dress has a strong nod to Couture pieces of the 1930s and 1940s decades that he continuously referenced in his collections.
- The fabric has a silk like finish and is a deep black. Various Galliano logos have been woven directly into the fabric in a different finish thread so as you move these catch the light. The effect is fantastic once it is on the body.
- The fabric obviously would have been custom designed by Galliano and made specifically for this dress
- It scoops down into a V at the front and the back with a band highlighting the entire neckline. It skims over the waist and hips from there and flares out at the lower hem.
- The back is cut longer than the front so you get this fantastic sweeping feel behind you. It is in its original uncut length.
- A high slit runs up one side for a flash of leg when you walk.
- Unlined and slips on to wear with no closures.
- The measurements have a lot of range because of the bias cut and no closure so I have given the comfortable range for all below when laying out flat. There is probably a little extra room beyond my measurements, but I do not like to over pull when measuring.
- Tagged a FR42, GB14, US8
- Excellent condition and it appears to have been worn very little if at all.

valentino
Fall 2012 Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri Black Silk Dress w Front Plunge
I Have a Question
- This dress is from the Fall 2012 Valentino collection
- At this time both Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were acting Creative Directors.
- It has the feel of Looks 25 & 48 from the runway with that deep plunge at the front that is really fantastic.
- The Vogue review for this collection stated in part; "For Fall, the designers wove an enchanting, globe-trotting story through the sweetly feminine silhouettes they've established as their own over the last few ready-to-wear and couture seasons".
- It is made in one of Valentino's signature silk crepes that gives it its sleek sculpted feel.
- The dress is very sexy and shows off some skin but still feels very elegant and refined. The fabric has just a touch of a bias cut to it through the body so its very comfortable to wear.
- Wider straps curve up and over your shoulders and all the edges of the bodice are set in a soft curving scalloped pattern.
- The front plunges to almost the waist with a band of the same fabric sitting part way down to keep it perfectly in place. This creates just a subtle little key hole below the breast. The result is a very deep plunge but a very wearable one.
- The back is a V to leave most of your upper back bare.
- The skirt widens out as it nears the hem. A wide band of fabric circles all the way around the hem and the bottom edge is the same scallop as around the bodice.
- The bodice is fully lined in a black silk and the lower panel of the skirt is a double layer of the same fabric. The skirt between is unlined.
- It closes with a back hidden set zipper.
- Tagged a modern Valentino 40

Bust: 16-17.5" flat across the back seam and each cup is approx 6.5-7" across at the widest point

Fall 2019 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld Pastel Baby Blue Knit Jacket w Handmade Snowflake Buttons
I Have a Question
- From the Act 1 Fall/Winter 2019 Chanel collection. This is the collection done for shops between the pre-collection and the runway shows. These are often specialized items that are made on an extremely limited basis.
- Made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- The buttons on this one are so special. They are little snowflakes on a carved backdrop mixed with rhinestones. They are meant to evoke winter and when combined with the knit, the feel of being warm and cozy, nestled inside from the ice and snow on a winter's day.
- There are five larger buttons down the front and then a slightly smaller version sits on each pocket and at each cuff.
- Even though the sweater at first glance looks like it is made out of Angora, Chanel actually does not use Angora. Instead it is made out of a blend of cashmere and alpaca. This is a very expensive to produce, time consuming process and a amazing technical achievement in fabric.
- The colour is a pale baby blue and even though we have tried to capture it as closely as possible here it is even better in person. It is the kind of piece that makes you gasp out loud when you see it.
- It has a slightly cropped feel to it and I love the two little pockets on the front.
- It buttons to close down the front and the pockets are functional but each is still lightly tacked shut as it came from Chanel.
- It has its original Chanel packet with extra yarn inside and its original Chanel tag. It appears to be unworn.
- This is a very rare and special Chanel piece especially in this pristine a condition.
- The knit has some stretch and I have put the un-stretched, laying flat measurements below.

I Have a Question
- This jacket is from the Spring 2006 collection and it is a beautiful classic and timeless Chanel jacket.
- Make it under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- The collection was called "Coco meats, James Dean" and the idea was that Lagerfeld organized this imaginary meeting between the two. In real life they had never met but in his eyes he saw them as being rebellious figures and wanted to explore the meeting of the two stylistically.
- The jacket has a gorgeous woven feeling to it tweed exterior and is a mix of silk and cotton.
- The shoulders have very light padding but are soft and shaped to the body and the sleeves are slightly cropped. Each sleeve has a fringe finish to it.
- The collar is scooped with the same fringe finishing and then the jacket closes down the front with hand made buttons to look like wax seals. A double C has been stamped into each button.
- Two tiny top set pockets sit on each side and these also have a fringe finish.
- The jacket has elaborate vertical seaming that pieces all of the panels together to give shape to the jacket.
- Triangle inserts have been done all the way around the hem so that it flares out with this fabulous little peplum. The bottom hem of the jacket is finished in fringe.
- Inside it is lined with a meticulous black silk that follows the pattern of the jacket. There is a signature silver chain that runs around the inner hem.

I Have a Question
- A very pretty little dress by the Chloe label
- The Fall 2006 collection was designed by the in-house team
- The dress is strapless and gathered across the bodice. The waist nips in under that and then the chiffon of the skirt flares out and is brought back in under the skirt.
- Underneath the edge of the skirt there is a pretty little scalloped ruffle set in three layers so you just see a touch of it peeking out from the edge of the hem.
- Some of the chiffon has been gathered along one side of the waist and then a wide, deeper ivory, panel of fabric wraps around the waist and is brought into a half bow on one side with the ends trailing down.
- An exposed zipper closes it at the back
- The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk
- Tagged a Chloe 36
- I see some shallow marks under each arm and tiny bit of fraying along the edge.

christian dior
Late 1960s-70s Christian Dior by Marc Bohan Floral Print Cotton Smock Dress
I Have a Question
- This exceptional dress is by Marc Bohan for Christian Dior and it is a wonderful example of his work during this time period.
- This best matches the work that he was doing from about 1969 to 1972 when he was doing these wonderful dresses. We found a similar one to this with variations on the print that this dress has and I have included it so that you can see how perfectly this will drape and fall on the body.
- It is a very easy and comfortable dress to wear
- The dress is made from a cotton that has a pretty floral print that covers the entire dress.
- The neckline is set high and detailed with a black cotton collar that extends down the front and buttons to about the waist area.
- Under that the bodice is meant to skim over you to fall loose and easy over the natural waist and then the skirt billows out from under that to the floor.
- The sleeves are set into the shoulder with slight gathers and they have a more full cut that balloons out over the wrists. At their ends they are edged with that same black fabric that sits around the collar and this extends out and tie into pretty bows around the wrist.
- The dress comes with its matching tie belt in the same fabric so you can wear it loose and easy or cinch in the waist for shape.
- Once on the body the entire dress has this stunning movement and yet feels minimalist and elegant.
- Unlined and slips over the head to wear. The front buttons up to about the waist and each sleeve ties with attached ties. The belt is original to the dress.
- Tagged a vintage Dior 12 and the easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes.
- Excellent condition

oscar de la renta
c 1970 Oscar de la Renta Black Silk Taffeta Backless Halter Neck Dress w Extensive Ruffle Detailing
I Have a Question
- Late 60s maybe the first couple years of the 1970s and it seems similar to some of the pieces I've seen from the 1970 season.
- Under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta
- The dress is made from a beautiful black silk taffeta that holds the shape and volume that this dress has perfectly.
- The fabric choice also keeps the dress fairly light in weight while giving the dress some structure and shape.
- Two shaped triangles cover the front of the bodice and there is a deep V for the neckline. The triangles extend all the way to the top of the neck and they are finished with a ruffle in the same fabric.
- Ties extend from just behind the peak of each triangle to tie behind the neck.
- It wraps around the waist and scoops low there. This leaves your entire back open and bare above that.
- The waist nips in and we have added a wide grosgrain ribbon to add a little more shape.
- The skirt is made out of the same silk taffeta and it is incredibly full by the time it reaches the hem. Tiers of silk allow this expansion and there are five tiers in total. Each tier is finished with that same ruffled detail that you see around the halter neck
- Inside there is a silk lining and then another netted lining sits between the outer skirt and that inner layer. This helps to hold the volume that you see.
- Fully lined in a layer of silk taffeta and the skirt is lined as described above.
- The dress closes with a low set zipper at the back. Hand finished throughout
- The ribbon at the waist is not original to the dress but will be sent with it
- Excellent condition
Bust: each triangle covers 8" plus there is an inch and a half a ruffle on each side.
Waist: 12.5-13.5" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: open
Bodice: approx 15" from top of shoulder to waist
Total length: 59" from neck to hem and can be adjusted a bit depending on were you tie the neck

chanel
Exceptional Spring 2009 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld Runway Look 62 Silk & Tulle Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of the dress walked the Spring 2009 runway for Look 62
- Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- This is the actual dress that was worn by Catriona Balfe for the Season 5 premiere of Outlander in 2020.
- In the book "Chanel Catwalk" the notes on this collection tell us that for this show they rebuilt the facade of 31 rue de Cambron inside of the Grand Palais. The collection played homage to classic Chanel style. The palette of the show was mainly black, white, pink and grey. Many of the pieces had a touch of a lingerie inspiration in them, including this gorgeous dress. It was one of the outstanding pieces in the show and it is even more beautiful in person. My photos don't come close to doing it justice.
- The upper bodice and shoulders of the dress are made of a fine silk netting that has a touch of transparency to it. It breaks at the back to leave a bare expanse of skin down the centre.
- A muted silk satin, with a more matte finish, is used to create a tiny little bodice piece that wraps around you. A little bow sits at the centre front for a pretty and feminine touch.
- The skirt falls from that empire cut and flows outward to the floor, expanding by quite a bit as it nears the hem.
- It is made of four layers, a top black silk net layer, a more ivory layer under that, and then two inner black silk organza layers that sit next to the skin.
- Fully lined in silk behind the bust area and the inner two layers of the skirt are a black silk organza.
- The bodice buttons to close with two pewter coloured silver metal buttons at the back and the dress zips to close under that.
- Tagged a Chanel 38.
- I see a couple of very tiny and little minor pulls and breaks in the skirt near the hem that don't affect it at all but are mentioned for accuracy and a repair near the edge of the arm opening. Overall excellent condition

prada
Resort 2018 Prada by Miuccia Runway Look 23 Printed Pale Pink Mini Dress w Feather Cuffs
I Have a Question
- Note that due to new regulations this coat can only ship to a Canadian address
- Resort 2018 Prada runway Look 23
- Under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada
- The runway version did not have the gray underneath the chain metal so it was worn more as a tunic. When they added the grey silk band for the shops it allowed it to be worn as a mini dress
- Made from a pale pink crepe with a soft grey design printed over it that incorporates the word Prada on both the front and back
- The lower portion of the skirt is a pale grey stretch silk like fabric. A metal chain mail detailing goes around the top part of that lower skirt
- It has a high collar and the sleeves are long. Each sleeve is finished in a pale pink feather cuff.
- Pin-tuck detailing creates a very pretty and detailed finish at the front of the dress
- The fit through the body is more full and open much like a 1920s flapper dress
- It closes with a hidden set back zipper
- Tagged a modern Prada 40
- I see some teeny little marks on the grey silk and one tiny faint spot on the top of one shoulder. It has the slightest perfumey smell, otherwise in excellent condition.

I Have a Question
- A shorter version walked the runway for Spring 2012 for Look 47
- Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- The body of the dress is a pale pink knit whose design is set in little individual scallops that slightly overlap the one underneath. It is very intricate and beautiful
- The neckline is scooped and there are flowers made out of stiffened silk organza mixed with an iridescent fabric that also is stiffened. These are curled inward to form petals. There is a cluster of five flowers around the neck and then ten run down the centre of the front. More circle around the entire hem. The iridescent petals catch the light and add a beautiful dimension to the dress.
- The sleeves are made out of a ivory silk chiffon and each closes with a little domed Chanel button with the double C logo in gold. A third button sits at the back of the neck. Despite having the Chanel button I think that these sleeves may have been added at a later date or upon request of the client. It would explain why they still have the Chanel buttons but they don't look like they were integral to the dress by the way they are set into the arm. I have left it as found but if you did not like them they could easily be removed.
- The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. It buttons to close at the back of the neck and on each cuff.
- Tagged a Chanel 36
- The button at the back of the neck has lost its little gold double C logo. I see a tiny little break in the silk at the top of one shoulder. It otherwise is an excellent condition.
Sleeves: 23" and are 13" around the upper arm
Bust: 15-18" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 15-17" flat across from side seam to side seam

I Have a Question
- Unlabeled and came from the estate of a woman bought a lot of Oscar de la Renta, Fath, Versace and other high end labels and you can tell that this a dress of quality even without knowing its label.
- It is made out of a beautiful clear and true red silk
- The bodice is strapless and is fitted and shaped to accentuate your curves. The waist nips in and then it extends down one side into a sharp angle. I love how this lengthens the body and gives shape around the hip.
- Below that the skirt is very full and billows out and around you beautifully. The way it is set into the angle of the skirt in soft gathers gives it its fullness. From the side this creates a beautiful angle from the waist to hem.
- Fully lined in a red silk through the bodice and the skirt is lined in two layers of red silk
- It closes with a side set zipper and has light boning through the bodice
- Excellent condition

I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway in the Spring 2003 show for Look 64
- Under the creative direction of the original Mr. Valentino
- It was the only dress shown in this entire collection that season that was done in his signature Valentino red. So when you look through the collection photos it really stands out.
- The show was a huge success and Vogue especially loved the evening pieces; "For the evening review, it gets even better. Valentino's communiqués from his couture collection show up as delicate metallic-embroidered chiffons made into fragile capes, cardigans or dresses. And for the grand occasion, there's a full battalion of the designer's fabulous signature chiffon gowns."
-
Suspended from the shoulders by two tiny straps in the same red silk. The bodice is seamed just under the breasts and have minimal darting.
- It skims over the waist and hips and then from there it falls to the floor in a beautiful column of the red silk crepe.
- The back of the dress is cut slightly longer so you have a tiny bit of a sweep behind you.
- Two panels of silk chiffon wrap around the waist area to add detail and shape the dress. The panels are attached all the way around you and then loop through openings at the front of the dress. The ties are cut extra long and fall to just above the hem at the front of the dress.
- The dress closes with a hidden set side zipper.
- The top panel of the bodice is lined in a red silk and the rest of the dress is unlined.
- Tagged a vintage Valentino 10.
- I see a touch of grubbiness here and there around the hem but otherwise excellent condition

Fall 2008 Christian Dior by John Galliano Runway Look 37 Emerald Green Suit
I Have a Question
- The twin of this gorgeous suit walked the Fall 2008 runway as Look 37
- Under the creative direction of John Galliano
- The show celebrated the 1960s with the opening music Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson'. The models were styled with a nod to the 60s but in a highly exaggerated way.
- Galliano said of the show "I am always looking for heroines who make me dream"
- The suit is a brilliant green silk /cotton mix which keeps it light in weight but has enough structure to allow it to hold its intended shape perfectly.
- The collar is wide and exaggerated and the suit closes with matching silk covered buttons and hidden set snaps down the front.
- A little bow sits at the centre of the front and little flap pockets still have their tacking in place on each hip. The hips are shaped to curve outwards.
- The end of the sleeves and the around the entire hem is heavily embellished with big round silver discs, glass or stone polished pieces, mixed with little gold sequins.
- The skirt is cut in a little bit of a flare and will sit just above the knee depending on your height.
- Both pieces are lined in a green silk
- The jacket snaps and buttons to close down the front and the skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper
- The jacket is tagged at FR42, GB14, IT46, US10. The skirt is tagged FR36, GB8, IT40, US4.
- I see a teeny darkened mark on the skirt near a seam and a teeny faint spot on the back that is very minor. There are some missing embellishments here and there. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.

I Have a Question
- Early 1980s dress under the creative direction of Hanae Mori

- The skirt is full and widen out as it needs the hem
- The front of the bodice and the skirt are lined in a nude silk chiffon, and the back and sleeves are unlined.

Beautiful Fall 2017 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld Runway Look 85 Black Skirt w Silver Sequins
I Have a Question
- The collection had a futuristic theme and silver was a prominent element throughout.
- The twin of the skirt walked the runway for Look 85
- Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- Flat fitted waist and then it has perfectly spaced knife pleats all around the hip to give it the volume that you see
- Tiny little zip pockets on each hip that are functional but shallow
- The little Chanel logo button on the one hip is meant to represent a map of the Earth
- Slits on either side of the skirt
- Made out of a cotton and then densely applied with hundreds of thousands of silver sequins in various sizes. Little dots of silver thread are interspersed in between all of those sequins.
- It closes with a hidden set back zipper
- Tagged a modern Chanel 38
- It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.

ralph lauren
Spring 2015 Ralph Lauren Purple Label Beaded Silk Net Dress w Low Open Back
I Have a Question
This beautiful dress was Look 49 on the Spring 2015 runway for Ralph Lauren. At the time it was released there was a editorial that noted that the bead work alone on this dress took over 900 hours. Princess Charlene of Monaco wore one in 2016 and Sarah Jessica Parker wore one in 2023. I ove that this gives you a fantastic idea of how this looks like on the body. The Purple Label from Ralph Lauren are the high-end demi-couture pieces the label creates. Ralph Lauren launched it in 1994 and the label was meant to be the pinnacle line for the brand. The dress is beautifully made.
The dress is made from multiple layers of silk tulle over an inner silk. The colour is a earthy deep golden colour. Onto the top netted layer is the extensive and elaborate bead and prong set glass crystals that are mentioned above that took over 900 hours to apply by hand. The design completely covers the bodice and sleeves and then runs down on panels on the skirt. The front neckline is scooped across and rhinestones have been prong set in an elaborate and dense design just under the neck line. These taper down and change to these to very fine beaded curving lines that run down to the waist seam. The sleeves are long and they are also entirely covered with more delicately done bead work. At the back you have an open V that plunges down the back and exposes a bare expanse of skin. The skirt is magnificent. It has multiple layers of the tulle with individual panels attached around the skirt. These panels have the same elaborate hand beading as the sleeves. The entire skirt is made from multiple layers of panels set vertically and separated from each other from the hem to about 23" up, so when you sit or walk a certain way you get a bit of flash of leg from underneath. This gives you incredible volume as well. I loved the dropped waist and you can see that the dress can be worn with a belt as they showed it on the runway, or without for a more 1930s feel. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a matching coloured silk and closes with a low set hidden back zipper. Each sleeve buttons to close at the wrist. The skirts are made of multiple layers of tulle with an inner silk panel. Tagged a modern RL 4

I Have a Question
This is a gorgeous little Spring 2001 Chanel set with a tweed boucle jacket and a silk chiffon skirt. The owner paired a Chanel cashmere shell from Fall 1999 with this suit and we are adding that in as a bonus. The show that year took place in the Carrousel de Louvre where the Chanel team constructed a multi-coloured Neon Staircase for the models to walk down. The Chanel 'Catwalk' books noted that the models sported tons of colour to go with that staircase and the collection showcased red, pink, blue, coral and purple besides the standard black and white used so often by Karl. You can see some of those colours reflected in this set. It is always nice to have a set with multiple pieces because the opportunity to mix a match with things that you already own just makes it that much more versatile.
The jacket is made from one of the classic Chanel signature fabrics that combines a fine wool with tiny sequins sewn onto some of the stripes woven through the tweed. I love the little shot of glitz this adds. The colour is done in shades of pinks that keep it very rich in feel. The jacket is a great cut. The sleeves are long and I love the addition of the silk chiffon cuffs at the end of each sleeve that ties it perfectly in with the skirt. The collar is notched and vertical panels run down the front on either side of the buttons. Another of these panels runs down the centre of the back. This add structure to the jacket and it is also what the belt of the jacket loops through, which is very clever. The jacket buttons to close down the front and the belt snaps into place. This tops a pretty silk chiffon skirt that is made out of a silk chiffon with the Chanel logo printed in little watercolour painted feeling squares. It has a simple banded waist and the upper part of the skirt is more fitted with closed pleats circling around the hips. These open up from there so the skirt has lots of movement and softness around you. The skirt is lined in deep fuchsia silk. The little bonus shell that goes under this is a perfect purple sleeveless top made of the finest Chanel cashmere. This is classic Chanel and it is exceptional. Excellent condition with a minor note below.
The jacket is fully lined in a Chanel embossed fuchsia silk and buttons to close down the front. The belt loops around the jacket and snaps to close. A classic Chanel chain is stitched along the inner hem. Light padding in each shoulder. Some of the colour has rubbed off of all the buttons. Please see the photo after the label shot. The skirt closes with a MOP button at the waist and zips to close under that. The shell is unlined and slips on to wear. The jacket is tagged a Chanel 36, the skirt has no size tag but feels generous in cut and the shell a size L.
And just a note on their fabrics.... The Chanel boucle and tweeds are created with their proprietary method of weaving that they themselves describe as "by weaving the warp and weft, using a variety of different kinds of threads which creates a unique and somewhat irregular appearance. The warp – vertically strung – is the background of the fabric, the base that will support the assembly of materials. There can be up to 12 different threads used for a single warp. The weft – woven horizontally – gives the fabric its unique character and can have an unlimited number of threads. Tight, perforated, textured, thick, with a relief, plaited, random, twill… the potential number of effects is endless". This technique gives you that classic Chanel look.

loris azzaro
c.1973 Loris Azzaro Backless Black Jersey Dress w Gold & Black Sequin Flame Halter Top
I Have a Question
Loris Azzaro launched his label in 1967 and quickly defined his trademark looks by using ornate beading, sequins, daring cut-outs and avant garde ways of defining the body. Some of the most beautiful women in the world wore his clothing including Marisa Berenson, Raquel Welch, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Tina Turner. It was a label that defined sexiness and had a certain French flare that women world-wide loved. This is a stunning example of his work during the early seventies. We have had several examples of dresses from in and around 1973 that combined the same jagged 'flame' cuts with sequins. I have included some of those for you to see here.
This is an amazing Azzaro. The skirt is made out of a black silk jersey that is cut on the bias and and falls to the floor. It widens out a touch as it near the hem. Topping this is the most amazing bodice. It is made from curving panels of sequins and the panels have been stitched and overlapped to create the shape that you see. When you realize that this all had to be pieced together in an exact way to create this, it seems that much more amazing. Panels covered in gold sequins extend up to wrap around the back of the neck. Those are covered by two panels of black sequins at the front and then there is another black sequin panel on each side. The panels are stitched together to the waist so that they are one solid piece forming the bodice but where they hit the waist seam they fall freely beside each other. This is what gives the suggestion of the 'flame' feel. They extend past the waist seam by between eight and 9 inches adding some movement. The back scoops down so your entire upper back is left bare and exposed. Lots of hand finishes inside. It is a fantastic example of his work. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in black silky rayon through the bodice and a second layer of jersey through the skirt. A slit up one side. Closes with a back zipper and hooks behind the neck. Hand finishes throughout.
Bust: each side of the bust covers 7" flat across from side to side
Waist: to 14" flat across from side seam to side seam

chloe
Spectacular Fall 1976 Chloe by Karl Lagerfeld Runway Documented Black Silk & Gold Lame Dress
I Have a Question
The twin of this dress walked the runway for Fall 1975. Chloe was headed by Karl Lagerfeld at this time making it a historically important piece of fashion history. The evening pieces in this collection were a hit with the press. The Los Angeles Times even said they were "collectors items". On the runway, the dress was worn with a thin gold belt that matches the gold colour on the inside of the back floating panels. I love that this shows you that you can wear it either way and it looks equally fantastic.
The dress is made from a light scarf weight black silk and the back panels are made of the same and then those are completely lined in a darker gold metallic silk lame. The neckline is piped with the same silk and the fabric is gathered softly into it. The neckline is cut slightly wide across and then the dress falls from there to skim over the bust, waist and hips to the floor. It gradually widens out to be quite wide by the hem. The back dips into a low V above hidden set snaps to close it. I love how this gives you a glimpse of bare skin behind the panels when you move a certain way. The two long panels that hide that open back are are attached along the back neckline and then fall loose to the floor. They are very wide by the time they reach their ends. Each one opens up a full 29" across the bottom. They are lined in a beautiful deep gold metallic lame that has an almost copper tone feel to it. The lame has a horizontal weave to it which gives it added texture. When this is on and moving, these billow out and float behind you. It is utterly fantastic. Excellent condition with a minor note below.
The dress is unlined and closes with a back hidden set series of hooks at the base of the V at the back. There is also a hook behind the neck. Hand finishes throughout. The easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes. I see one small area near the bottom of one of the panels on the black side where the fabric is just a tiny bit lighter. It is very minimal and I could not catch it on camera.
