Resort 2010 Oscar de la Renta Runway Look 48 Metallic Gold & Silver Lame Halter Dress
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Resort 2010 Oscar de la Renta show as Look 48.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- I love that we have the reference photos and video for this one so that you can see how beautiful it is once on an actual body.
- The fabric is what makes this dress stand out. The choice of that feather light pale gold and silver thread lame is perfect for this dress. It has just enough weight so that it drapes beautifully but still moves perfectly when you move.
- The combination of the silver and gold in the fabric is so interesting. It softens the gold and in person the dress has a slightly paler feel. I love how the light catches it in different ways as it glides over you so that it has a subtle shimmer and sparkle from every angle.
- The bodice is gathered and shaped around the bust towards the centre and this leaves a little open keyhole. Panels of fabric sweep up over the bust and then more fabric wraps horizontally around you from the waist to the top of the hips.
- The capped sleeves have quite a bit of fabric in each of them and you can wear them so that they fall over the top of the shoulder but they can also be twisted so they are smaller and more like a strap.
- The sleeves were shown sitting on the arm but you can also wear them at the edges or on top of the shoulder.
- The fabric extends out from the sleeves and runs across the upper back to a knot. Two straps run parallel down from there to attached into the centre back of the dress. I love how this leaves most of your back bare and exposed.
- The skirt falls from underneath the gathering at the front, curves out over the hips, and then widens out as it near the hem. The extra fabric there allows for pretty movement around you as you walk.
- The dress is fully lined in a soft gold toned silk. There is a light boning down the sides of the dress and half padding at the bust. The dress closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little at all.
