Pre-Fall 2018 Christian Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri Look 60 Sequin & Bead Sun & Stars Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress was shown for the Pre-fall 2018 Dior collection as Look 60
- It was made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri.
- In Vogues' interview with Maria she said of the house that "We have to maintain our heritage, but at the same time, transform it into something that's very easy to wear - comfortable to." the collection had a significant portion devoted to stars with the evening dresses "...and embellished with constellation artwork from surrealist Jean Cocteau."
- The twin of this one was shown in a trio of these embellished dresses and this one with its beautiful embellished sun on the bodice is absolutely one of my strong favourites of the present presentation.
- The upper most part of the bodice and the skirt are made out of a black netting and this is mixed with the black velvet of the bodice. Onto that is an extensive pattern that combines bead work, sequins and embroidered black chenille thread work.
- The bodice of the dress is meant to be more fitted around you but it does not have any inner corset so it is still soft and easy on the body.
- I love the how the upper most part of the bodice is made out of the two layers of the netting for a little bit of skin too show through and then the inky black of the velvet offers a pretty contrast to that.
- The stylized sun that sits on the bodice has a beaded outline and then it is filled with embroidered thread and gold sequins. It appears that this was all hand done on an applique and then the applique was applied to the dress. It is just fabulous.
- The skirt is cut to be very full. It falls from the nipped in waist and then expands outwards from there. This gives it a soft and easy movement around you as you move. If you lay the skirt of flat it is just short of being a true circle skirt by the time it reaches to hem.
- Two layers of netting sit over an opaque silk inner layer next to your body. The very top layer is heavily embellished with gold sequins in various sizes mixed with black chenille embroidery. This gives it beautiful texture and ties it in perfectly with the sun on the top.
- There is a ton of fabric in a skirt. It is very light in weight so when you stand still it falls with just a slight volume but when you move it really moves around you beautifully.
- It is just outstanding in person and beautifully constructed.
- The dress is fully lined in a black silk. The dress closes with a hidden set back zipper. I see a slight change in the direction of the velvet here and there. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Spring 2015 Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Runway Look 36 Tie Dye Beaded Silk Chiffon Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 36 of the Spring 2015 collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Peter Dundas.
- In the coverage for this collection, Vogue said that Peter Dundas "understands the value of power casting; he had Naomi Campbell in his lineup for the first time today. Ogling the models is understandable enough – they are inches from your eyeballs at the Palazzo Serbelloni venue. But if you do, you might miss the artisanal details at Dundas has made as much a contemporary Pucci signature as the Florentine house's famous archival prints."
- They also specifically tie dye dresses saying that "if they look like the real thing, that's because the prince were based on get your hand, dirty trial and error." I love that we know that these were all specifically developed and done by hand!
- I love that the runway photos and video show you just how gorgeous this is on the body and how it moves. I just had this dress in the shop recently in a longer length and I am very happy to have found this version so soon.
- The tie dye is done on an ultra light-in-weight silk chiffon with the upper bodice covered in a mix of domed silver studs embroidery sequins and bead work all done by hand.
- The upper bodice has a yoked front that extends down into a curve point and scoops at the neck line. The straps curved around at the front on either side of the neck and then trail down the outside of your back to meet the top of a low scoop there that leaves your back bare and exposed.
- It is covered in silver dome beads, and then has a pretty pattern that mixes flowers with pink mirrored parts, beadwork embroidery and more various sized silver beads.
- Where that attaches into the dress there are little bits of nude netting with a silk ladder pattern and I love this little unexpected bit of skin that it allows to show through the net.
- There are many many yards of that fantastic feather light silk chiffon used for the dress. It is set on gathered angled panels that skims over the bust and around to the back.
- Two layers of tie dye chiffon are set in under that and these opens out over the waist and hips and just continue to become wider so that it is extremely full by the hem.
- I love how the front is cut shorter, and then the back swoops down to a longer length. This cut helps the silk to pick up any air at all and out around you. You can see that in the video on the runway.
- The print on the silk combines a beautiful pattern that ranges from deep to soft corals and a purple to a periwinkle.
- I love that the tie-dye on both layers have been matched so you get a print on print depth that would not exist otherwise if they had not done it this way. It is very beautiful.
- There is a tremendous amount of fabric in the skirt. The lightness of the silk layers have phenomenal movement around you as you move.
- The dress is one of my favourites of all the modern pieces of Pucci that I have seen and the era that Peter Dundas was the creative director at Pucci is 100% my favourite of the modern predecessors to Emilio.
- The top part of bodice is backed in a matching coral silk and the skirt has three layers as described above. It closes at the back. with a hidden set zipper. The fabric is signed throughout. I see a tiny repair at the edge of the netting at the front. Please see the photo to show you both the front and back of that after the label shot.

I Have a Question
- A version with a pant walked the runway for the Spring 2000 Balmain Haute Couture collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- In 1993 Oscar de la Renta took over as Creative Director at Balmain where he designed the Haute Couture collections until 2002. The house had been floundering at that point and he had a huge impact on the reviving the sales of the couture pieces, mainly by catering to private clients, much like Balmain had originally.
- It is extraordinary to think that Oscar never produced a Haute Couture line under his own label and these few short years at Balmain gives us a chance to see just how talented he really was at all levels.
- Both pieces would have been completely made by hand in the Paris atelier.
- The jacket especially is a dream and I feel like the photos do not fully convey how beautiful and elaborate it feels in real life.
- The fabric used on the jacket is outstanding. The base is a handmade woven yarn and silk mix. Onto that are designs made from natural twine cording that has been embellished with a tiny hand carved round pieces that appear to be mother of pearl.
- The added yarn circles and flowers sit slightly up and off the base and you can clearly see the hand work done to apply them to the base fabric.
- The tiny little circles that are mixed into the design seem at first glance to be sequins but when you take a closer look at them you can clearly see each one is an individually cut iridescent circle with a tiny hole drilled through their centres. They appear to be mother of pearl.
- The skirt is made out a fabric that looks to be a handwoven silk linen mix. I love how it is cut in a simple silhouette so that the jacket shines.
- The jacket has no collar and the shoulders have some padding built in for some structure but still have a more soft feel.
- The sleeves fall from there and each ends with an elaborate addition of four handmade buttons that decorate, and hold closed, a slit set vertically along each cuff.
- The front buttons to close with six more of those same handmade buttons. Tiny faux pockets sit on either side of the button just above the flare that curves over the hips. Each pocket is detailed with its own design of corded circles that matches the borders of the jacket.
- The skirt has a simple long pencil silhouette with a slit at one side to allow ease of walking. It is a slightly paler shade then the jacket and has a very pretty woven texture running through it.
- The waist has no band. It simply curves out and over the hips and then falls in a fairly straight line to the hem.
- I love that this is two separate pieces so that you have the added versatility of being able to mix a match the jacket and skirt with existing things you already own.
- The jacket is fully lined in a very high end hand set silk and closes with hooks set behind the buttons at the front. The buttons on the cuffs are decorative. The skirt closes with a hidden set zipper and hook and eye behind the top of the zipper at the inner waist. All of the work is done completely by hand to couture standards. The proper Haute Couture tag is present inside the jacket. The set appears to have been worn very little if at all.
- There is no size tag present because it is true Couture. Please go by the measurements listed below.

Fall 2019 Christian Dior by by Maria Grazia Chiuri Runway Look 83 Red Silk Chiffon Playsuit & Skirt
I Have a Question
- This two piece set is from the Fall 2019 Christian Dior collection and was Look 83 on the runway.
- It was made under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri.
- Vogue's Sally Singer noted that; "Chiuri sought inspiration for this collection from Britain’s postwar Teddy Girls, those working-class, rock ’n’ roll–loving beehived vixens who hit the clubs in a mix of men’s Edwardian jackets, full skirts, blue jeans, leather, velvet, and eyeliner galore. She was struck by the similarity in silhouette and the optimistic excess that characterized Christian Dior’s designs of the same period. She was also moved by Yves Saint Laurent’s addition to the Dior pantheon of a men’s black leather jacket for women in the late 1950s. So, heritage, hipsters, and herstory."
- The twin of this look also appeared on red carpets that season.
- At first glance it looks like this is a full dress but it is actually two pieces. There is an inner romper or play suit and then an open front skirt that goes over top of that. I love the versatility and added wearability that having two separate pieces gives you.
- Both pieces are made out of a deep red silk chiffon and have a inner black layer that deepens the colour and adds interesting shadows to the areas where it is gathered or draped. This fabric choice keeps the pieces soft and pretty as well as light-in-weight.
- The bodice of the inner piece is fitted with a built-in corset that is cupped and boned to sit perfectly in place around you.
- I love how the silk is gathered over the bodice to emphasize the bust. The gathering continues down on an angle around the waist to give the illusion of a smaller waist.
- Under the waist it curves out over the hips and becomes a pair of wider legged short shorts.
- The skirt is its own separate piece and snaps into place over top of the shorts. It falls from a banded panel around the waist and then expands outwards from there.
- It closes under a flat bow at the centre front and is open to the hem under that. This gives it a soft and easy movement around you as you move.
- The skirt is made out of a layer of the red silk chiffon and then underneath are two stacked black layers of a black net. Floating the layers over each other helps it to retain volume and shape around you. It also gives you an interesting colour contrast when the front opens as you move.
- It is just outstanding in person and beautifully constructed.
- The skirt is lined in a black net and the romper in a black silk. Inside the bodice is an attached cupped and lightly boned corset. The playsuit closes with a hidden set back zipper and the skirt closes with hidden set snaps plus hook & eye under the bow at the front. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Spring 2008 Oscar de la Renta Red Version of Runway Look 64 Silk Dress w Embelished Collar
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress in a gold walked the runway for the Spring 2008 Oscar de la Renta collection as Look 64.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- On the runway a version of this was shown in a gold and then for the shops they produced this red version with a chunkier embellishment around the collar area and down the front.
- The dress is made out of a linen like finished red silk and then the collar has had an extensive pattern of various beads, rhinestones and sequins added by hand. Some pieces are backed by leather and there is embroidery in the mix.
- The collar is spectacular. It is just under three inches wide and to create a bold band curving around your neck. At the front it runs down and over the silk to just about the waist giving the illusion of wearing a jewelled bib collar. At the back it splits into two straps that expand outward on an angle to meet the silk.
- I love how this leaves most of the upper back bare and exposed.
- The beads on the collar have a very organic feel and they mix what looks like wood and perhaps ceramic beads applied onto leather backings in some spots. Big chunky rhinestones and clear beads have been added, and there are bits of embroidery. It is really fantastic and you can clearly see hand work throughout.
- Under that the dress is cut on a slight curve at the neckline and then comes in at the waist. The shaping through the waist is all done by long vertical seams at the sides with no horizontal line to break the eye or the beaded pattern at the front.
- From there it curves back out over the hips with a slightly exaggerated shape and then it expands out again as it nears the hem.
- Extra fabric has been added at the back and around the sides of the lower skirt to give you extra fullness there and a bit of movement as you move. You can get an idea of how it moves with the reference video added.
- I love how dramatic the red version is. It is a fantastic example of his work during this time period.
- The dress is fully lined in a matching red silk and closes with a hidden set back zipper that is hidden along and offset side seam. The collar hooks to close at the top of the shoulder on one side.. The embellishments have been added by hand. I see some slight scuffing into the top layer of the fabric around the back hem. Please see the photos attached. It is minor but it is mentioned for accuracy.

valentino
Spring 2017 Valentino by PierPaolo Piccioli Runway Look 20 Zandra Rhodes Print Silk Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Spring 2017 collection for Look 20.
- It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli and the print was done in collaboration with Zandra Rhodes.
- Historically, this was an important collection as it was Pierpaolo's first solo show at Valentino. It was also his first collaboration with Zandra Rhodes.
- The dress is beautifully documented on the runway and was seen at NYFW as well as couture week in Paris. I love how these show you how gorgeous it is once on the body.
- The dress is made out of a beautiful lightweight silk that has a custom Zandra Rhodes print covering the entire dress. The colour is a light taupe that has a pink undertone to it. The print ranges from black line to pink with a hand painted feel that is done in her proprietary manner in studio.
- The neckline is cut wide across and the shoulders are soft. The sleeves extend out directly from the shoulder and from the waist. This makes them very wide and they drape fantastically over the arm.
- The dress skims over the bust and drapes easily over the body to a more generously cut waist. If you wanted to add more shape, you could easily add a belt.
- The waist is cut more generously so that you have a beautiful flow from head to toe. You can see this in all of the various reference photos and how it sits on the body. This cut was to become one of Pierpaolo signatures.
- The skirt flows to the floor from there and it is beautifully full and easy. It is cut on a swinging wide A-line and it is quite full by the time it reaches the hem. The amount of fabric used through the skirt gives it a ton of movement when you walk and move.
- The lightness of the silk and the way that it lays over the body allows it to move spectacularly over you and it will pick up the slightest bit of air.
- The dress is unlined and closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

versace
Exquisite Spring 2008 Versace by Donatella Versace Runway Look 52 Coral Pink Silk Chiffon Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress was shown for Look 52 for the Spring 2008 Versace collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Donatella Versace.
- This was part of the closing look of a series of bright candy coloured dresses Vogue's review of the show said that "Versace for spring was one of those idea confirming shows were a designer picks out a latent trend and coheres it into critical mass before your very eyes. This season in Milan it took Donatella Versace to get hold of drapey, flowy, goddessey dressing and make it look hot, easy and believable. Her beautifully constructed silk jersey dresses ran the gambut from day to night in a rainbow of colours with each piece gorgeous in its own right.... proof that Donatella Versace is at the top of her game."
- The dress is made from gorgeous pinky coral silk chiffon used for the main portion of the dress and this is combined with a silk chiffon panel that runs down from one shoulder. The silk used is feather light so feels magical once on.
- The dress is gathered up and into the bodice where it has been tightly gathered horizontally across the bust. A band that has tiny flat pleats stacked on top of each other runs across the top of the bodice and is set on an angle underneath.
- A tiny strap circles up and over one shoulder and then a wider chiffon strap curves over the other. The band that runs around the top of the bodice extends out to wrap around the outside of the arm.
- That silk chiffon panel that curves over the shoulder falls into a long panel of silk chiffon that widens out substantially as it nears the floor. It is cut to go to just past the hem of the dress and it creates beautiful movement around and behind you as you move.
- From the angled band that sits under the bodice the dress simply drapes and skims over the waist and hips.
-
The lower skirt is full and open with tons of silk chiffon. Underneath the top layer of chiffon there is a matching colour jersey layer which makes it all incredibly comfortable to wear. The back of the skirt falls slightly longer then the front. This combination of cut and fabric allows for fantastic movement around you as you move.
- The dress is lined in a matching silk through the bust and a stretch silk jersey through the skirt. It closes with a combination of a hidden side zipper and hook & eye. There is a lightly boned partial inner corset piece under the bust. The inner corset has its own zipper. I see some very minor tiny marks on the inside lining near the hem and near the bottom edge of the draped panel. Both are very minor but mentioned for accuracy.
- Tagged a vintage Versace 40.
- Excellent condition with the minor note above.

etro
Spring 2018 Etro by Veronica Etro Runway Look 3 White Cotton Gauze Dress w Embroidery & Sequins
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the Spring 2018 Etro runway and was shown for Look 3 on the runway.
- It was made under the creative direction of Veronica Etro
- Vogue reported that the collection "displayed the really excellent cutting of Veronica's dresses. She doesn't need to drain her designs and gorgeous pattern to achieve gorgeousness."
- Even the stills from the runway gives you a wonderful idea of how fantastically this dress will move in real life. On the runway it was paired with a jewelled piece that was worn to follow the V of the neck.
- The dress is made out of layers of a light in weight cotton and silk mix gauze that is incredible. A base colour is a soft ivory, and then there is a secondary white print worked into the fabric. Added embroidery and sequin embellishments on the embroidered patterns are done to form a beautiful multi-layered pattern over the entire dress.
- The shoulders are soft and set wide across to the edges. These curved down into sleeves that narrow slightly to the wrist and are finished with a tiny lace trim. I have shot them at their full lengths but you can see on the runway photos they were worn scrunched to the elbow for added ease.
- The neckline come down in a soft curving V and cotton panels on the bust are gathered into twisting knots along the centre point.
- The skirt sweeps out from under the bust and from there it begins to expand outwards to the hem. By the time it reaches the hem it has quite a bit of volume. The back is cut slightly longer than the front so you get a beautiful sweep and movement when you move.
- The lower tier of the skirt is cut to be wider around to create more volume and movement in the skirt. It is set into the skirt above with more lace.
- The final perfect detail is the elaborate floral embroidery work that covers the entire dress in a matching thread. Onto many parts of the embroidery are added sequins that give the entire dress a beautiful texture from top to bottom.
- This is an absolutely stunning dress that is wonderfully constructed.
- The dress is lined in a layer of the same cotton gauze. The sleeves are unlined. It closes with a hidden set side zipper. I see a small mark that gets hidden in the folds of the skirt, grubbiness at the edges of the hem and there is a tiny stress area to the fabric at the top of one shoulder. Please see the photos after the label. Its easy cut should allow for a range of sizes.

Spectacular Spring 2005 Oscar de la Renta Runway Look 53 Strapless Pink Silk Dress w Full Skirts
I Have a Question
- The near twin of this dress walked the Spring 2005 ODLR runway for Look 53.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- I love having video and the reference photos so that you can see how it moves.
- The skirt on this dress falls longer then the runway version and it is swept up slightly to one side.
- Vogue said that his collections "are a delight to the eye: flawlessly executed, poised, and urbane with just the right balance of mature charm and youthful exuberance" and this dress in particular was noted when they said "When it comes to evening wear no one knows more about giving women what they want... a cooly elegant strapless dress with an undulating puff skirt? In Oscar's world there's no such thing as the wrong choice."
- The dress is made out of the perfect deep fuchsia pink silk. It is strapless and the neckline curves around and over the bust dipping in the middle. The strapless silhouette leaves your upper back bare and exposed.
- Starting at the waist area the silk is draped from the centre of the back and wraps around the waist and over the top of the hip on either side. It is then gathered over itself at the centre front. I think this detail is beautiful.
- Inside there is a full built-in corset that is cupped, boned and shaped for support.
- The skirt is spectacular. Here you see the genius of Oscar. The skirt has a ton of volume to it that shows best when you move. It is made out of a cascade of pink silk with a second layer under the top layer. At the front, both layers are cut shorter and then they sweep around to the back.
- The skirt becomes wider and more full as it nears the hem. At the back it falls longer then the front so that you get this pretty curve from the side view along with a fantastic sweep of skirts from the back. There is a second inner layer that falls lower on the leg and it has a bit of an asymmetrical feel.
- All of the volume is created by the yards and yards of silk used and the addition of a pink silk organza lining which helps to hold air between the two layers and keep the volume.
- When this is on and you are walking the effect and movement that this creates is absolutely gorgeous. This is Oscar at his very best.
- The dress is fully lined in a matching pink silk organza. The interior corset closes with its own zipper at the back and then a second hidden set zipper closes the dress over that. The inner corset is fully boned and cupped. An attached inner waist stay hooks to close. I see a tiny bit of stress to the seam just under the zipper that is very minor but mentioned for accuracy, and perhaps some grubbiness around the hem, again very minor but mentioned for accuracy.
- There is no size tag present. Please go by the measurements listed below.

yves saint laurent
Pre-Fall 2016 Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane Runway Look 37 Gold Metallic Thread & Sequin Feather Dress
I Have a Question
- This is a very rare dress from the Pre-Fall 2016 YSL collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane.
- The twin of the dress was Look 37 on the runway of 93 looks and the collection was also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the YSL Rive Gauche label. Dresses had a touch of the 70s and the textiles were elaborate including this phenomenal piece.
- Lady Gaga was also shot wearing its twin.
- The dress has amazing movement and I love that you can see that in the reference photo and video.
- The dress is made out of a black silk and then that has an amazing peacock feather pattern that follows the lines of the dress. The feather design is made out of gold metallic thread to create the pattern that you see. Gold sequins are set in in amongst the pattern to highlight the design, and then tiny little more muted gold sequence follow the ends of the feathers. This combination of sequins on the gold allows the dress to glint beautifully in the light from every angle.
- The front is cut in a V and the bust is cut to skim over you to the waist. The waist has some shape defined by a band of a matching fabric that runs all the way around you.
- The sleeves are phenomenal. They are cut in a diamond shape at their ends so they fall at different lengths over the arm. The pattern is set over that running down the lengths of the sleeves.
- The skirt has a head pointed finish at the side and it is incredibly full. When I lay flat. It is a full circle all the way around. The amount of fabric gives you tremendous movement as you move.
- I also love how this increases the depth and weight of the pattern. The feather pattern runs down the length of the skirt all the way around you and when you move and you get the feel of how much silk and gold actually makes up the skirt. It is just phenomenal.
- On the runway, it was shown belted in with a scarf. These are pieces that were sold separately. If you prefer that look, it would be easy to add pieces of your own to re-create it.
- These extensively beaded pieces or produced in limited quantities. This is a phenomenal example of his time at the label.
- The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Resort 2017 Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri Collection Look 70 Black Net & White Embroidery Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress was shown for Look 70 of the resort 2017 Valentino collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri.
- This ended up being the final collection that Maria worked on for the Valentino label.
- The inspiration behind the collection was Cuba and the looks were rife with embroidery and print. Piccioli remarked that "It gave us a real freedom to mix, like a souvenir, lots of pieces together."
- The dress has the added provenance of being the twin of the dress worn by Natalie Portman that year on the red carpet. She wore it beautifully and it shows you just how spectacular the dress is once on the body.
- The dress is made out of a light weight, more open weave black net that sits over a black silk chiffon lining to make it opaque enough to wear. Onto that is a stark white embroidery that forms a beautiful pattern over the entire dress.
- The neckline is set wide across so that it sits at the edges of the shoulders. If you are not very broad across the shoulders you should be able to wear it fully off the shoulder. The dress form shows it fully off the shoulder. The collection photo shows it at the very edge and then Natalie chose to wear it a little higher up. I love that this let you see all of the options.
- A wide 9" ruffle follows the entire neckline and gives it the prettiest flounce all the way around you.
- Under that the bodice skims down to the seamed waist and then the skirt is smoothly set into the waist. From there the skirt expands outwards and by the time it reaches the hem it has an amazing amount of volume. The back is cut slightly longer than the front so you get a beautiful sweep.
- The the hem of the skirt has a ruffle that picks up on the one around the shoulders and that ruffle is a full 13" wide. Underneath the top layer is two more layers of black netting that sit between the top skirt and the inner silk chiffon lining. I love how this added touch of underskirts along with the beautiful cut of the skirt adds to the volume and detail of the skirt. It also gives you fantastic movement when you move.
- This is an absolutely stunning dress and this particular cut of dress is one of my favourites.
- The dress is fully lined in a black silk chiffon with extra layers of netting through the skirt as described above. It closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Exquisite Fall 2019 Giorgio Armani Runway Look 80 Velvet & Silk Ribbon Jumpsuit w Black Jet Beads
I Have a Question
- The twin of this jumpsuit walked the runway for the Fall 2019 Gorgio Armani collection as Look 80.
- It was made under the creative direction of Giorgio Armani.
- This is from his main label and its twin was also seen on both Cressida Bonas and Kelly Chen. I love having the reference photos so you can see how phenomenal it is once on the body.
- The Fall 2019 show was co-ed with both male and female models on the runway. Vogue said in part that "Armani served a pre-millennial nightclub’s worth of smoky whorl and twist." Velvet, beading and wide silk bands were integral to the looks in the show.
- The base fabric of the jumpsuit is an inky black velvet which gives the beading added on top of the velvet a luxe backdrop.
- The neckline is high and finished with black silk piping. The shoulders are soft and slightly dropped. The arms narrow slightly at the wrist where they are also finished with black silk piping. At the back the fabric wraps over itself to button and snap into place along the neck line. It is a very interesting way to close the piece.
- Starting at the centre of the neckline is a black silk ribbon that is 2.5" wide and it runs all the way down the front to the waist. A second ribbon is attached under that to wrap around the waist and tie at the front so that you can cinch in for as much shape as you want. It can be worn with the waist left more generous and open, or very cinched.
- On the runway, and in the reference photos, you can see that it the bodice is split completely open down each side of the ribbon. That split is technically. there on this one as well but it is currently tacked closed with an added modesty panel under the lower half of it inside. If you wanted the full split feel of the runway, it would be very easy to reverse this and have it completely open on both sides all the way to the waist.
- It skims over the bust and is cut generously around the waist for a easy to fit feel. The waist is finished with hidden elastic since there is no closure on the jumpsuit and you just simply slip it on to wear.
- From under the waist it curves out over the hips and then the legs fall in a wide straight cut all the way. They are very wide and that combined with the ease and drape of the velvet gives you gorgeous movement as you walk and move. They are a full 26" around the hem of each pant.
- Applied onto the jumpsuit is an intricate script pattern done in little faceted jet beads that are applied directly onto the velvet. These add the perfect amount of sparkle as they catch the light from every angle. If you look closely you will realize that they are his signature.
- I have taken close-ups of the extraordinary amount of bead work that has been done to make these. It is really exquisite workmanship.
- Hidden set pockets sit on each hip for the final perfect detail.
- The jumpsuit is fully lined in fine black silk. It slips onto where and then buttons and snaps around the back of the neck line. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

2012 Dolce & Gabbana Limited Release Pale Net Tulle Strapless Dress w Lace Flower Applique
I Have a Question
- This dress is from 2012 and it was a limited release piece.
- It was made under the creative direction of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
- The twin of this dress was worn by Kylie Minogue and I love that the reference photos show how amazing this one is on. We were told that these were made in extremely limited quantities on a special order basis only so very few exist.
- Dolce and Gabbana was launched in 1985 by founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. By the 1990s they had open their own boutiques and in 1993 Madonna chose them for her Girlie Show tour and they gained world wide recognition. They are known for their dramatic designs that are heavily inspired by their Sicilian heritage.
- The dress that is incredibly beautiful. It is made from a pale nude silk tulle net that has a touch of a pink undertone to it. This is layered over inner layers of more tulle, lace netting and silk.
- The bodice is strapless and has a heavy application of hand cut out flowers hand applied to the tulle. Under that are more flowers that are scattered over the entire dress from there all the way to the hem.
- Running down the centre of the bodice are a cluster of soft silk chiffon flowers that add a beautiful detail. Small versions of these are also worked into the design over the top layer of the entire dress.
- The top layer of tulle is cut to be full all the way around you. More layers sit under that. At the back it is cut longer so you get a beautiful sweeping effect behind you and it adds incredible movement as you move.
- Under the top layers of netting is an inner dress that has a dotted lace finish. I love the effect of this that it gives the dress. Under that layer are still more layers. The multiple layering creates a beautiful texture as they float over each other and they also help to give the dress its structure so that it holds the shape around you once on.
- The bodice is strapless and cut on a soft curve across the neckline. There is a built in boned corset on the inside for shape and to hold the dress in place on you.
- It is an incredibly beautiful and romantic dress.
- The dress is fully lined in a soft nude silk. The innermost layer of stretch silk goes to just above the knee. It closes with a back zipper and then the tulle layer snaps over that to hide the zipper. Inside the bodice is a cupped and boned corset. I see one vertical repair in the tulle of the skirt at the back otherwise it appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Fall 2002 Oscar de la Renta Runway Look 50 Deep Purple Silk Dress w Hand Applied Patchwork
I Have a Question
- The near twin of this dress walked the Fall 2002 runway for Look 50 in the collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- Photos from a Moroccan open air market were projected onto the stagefront and this is what set the tone for the show that season. In the review of the collection that year Vogue commented; 'There was a whiff of far-flung exoticism throughout the collection... almost every outfit got a touch of spice via embroidery, (or) a dusting of sequins. De la Renta ended as always, with a parade of great evening wear... just a thing for midnight at the Medina.'
- The dress has this fabulous almost sculptural feel with is simple cut and that beautiful deep purple silk fabric. It's full coverage keeps it feeling very refined and elegant.
- The silk is a very high quality and feels very smooth to the touch. This fabric choice keeps it fairly light in weight but it still has enough structure to hold that gorgeous shape that you see.
- The neck is a shallow scoop and the bodice is cut to skim over you. The shoulders are shaped but soft and the sleeves are long and slightly taper down to the wrist.
- The waist is brought in through curved vertical seaming and the skirt falls from there to the floor.
- I love the patchwork panels that are added all the way around the lower hem. These are made up of a variety of embroidered silks and velvets that have the occasional mirrored embellishment worked within the embroidery. These run all the way around the hem and up and into the skirt.
- Underneath the top layer is a vivid pink underskirt with a stiffen hem and ruffle covering over that. I have taken a photo to show you how the very edge of this ruffle peaks out from underneath the outer hem of the skirt for an unexpected shot of vibrant colour.
- The underskirt helps add support and hold the fullness of the skirt. It adds a pretty sense of sweeping skirts as you walk away.
- Hidden pockets are set along each hip.
- The dress is fully lined in a vibrant pink silk. It closes with a hidden back set zipper and each sleeve has a hidden set zipper at its cuff. There is a tiny bit of stress to the center and one side seam near the waist at the back. Please see the photo after the label shot. The zipper has a tiny bit of stick when it hits the spot. It otherwise appears to have been worn very little at all.

Elegant Resort 2010 Oscar de la Renta Gold Runway Look 48 Metallic Gold & Silver Lame Halter Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Resort 2010 Oscar de la Renta show as Look 48.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- I love that we have the reference photos and video for this one so that you can see how beautiful it is once on an actual body.
- The fabric is what makes this dress stand out. The choice of that feather light pale gold and silver thread lame is perfect for this dress. It has just enough weight so that it drapes beautifully down the front but still moves perfectly when you move.
- The combination of the silver and gold in the fabric is so interesting. It softens the gold and in person the dress has a slightly paler feel overall. I love how the light catches it in different ways as it glides over you so that you subtly shimmer and sparkle from every angle.
- The cut has that elegant feel and nod to glamour that you see in his best pieces.
- The bodice is gathered and shaped around the bust towards the centre and this leaves a little open keyhole. Panels of fabric sweep up over the bust and then more fabric wraps horizontally around you from the waist top the top of the hips.
- The sleeves are equally as gorgeous. There is actually quite a bit of fabric in each of them and you could open them so they fall more over the top of the shoulder. Alternatively, you could also twist them more so they are smaller.
- The sleeves are meant to sit at the very outside of the shoulder but you could also wear them completely off of the shoulder or, alternatively, higher up on the top of the shoulder.
- The fabric of the sleeves extend across the upper back to a knot in the centre of the back. Two straps run parallel down from there to attached into the centre back of the dress. I love how this leaves most of your back bare and exposed.
- The skirt falls from underneath the gathering at the front, curves out over the hips, and then widens out as it near the hem. The extra fabric there allows for pretty movement around you as you walk.
- The dress is fully lined in a soft gold toned silk. There is a light boning down the sides of the dress and half padding at the bust. The dress closes with a hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

Fall 2008 Christian Dior by John Galliano Runway Look 37 Emerald Green Suit w Glass & Sequin Details
I Have a Question
- The twin of this suit walked the Fall 2008 runway as Look 37
- It was made under the creative direction of John Galliano.
- The show celebrated the 1960s with the opening music Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson'. The models were styled with a nod to the 60s but in a highly exaggerated way.
- Galliano said of the show "I am always looking for heroines who make me dream"
- The suit is made from a brilliant green silk and cotton mix which keeps it light in weight but has enough structure to allow it to hold its intended shape perfectly.
- The collar is wide and exaggerated and the suit closes with matching silk covered buttons and hidden set snaps down the front.
- A little bow sits at the centre of the front and little flap pockets still have their tacking in place on each hip. The hips are shaped to curve outwards.
- The end of the sleeves and the around the entire hem is heavily embellished with big round silver discs, glass or stone polished pieces, mixed with little gold sequins.
- The skirt is cut in a little bit of a flare and will sit just above the knee depending on your height.
- Both pieces are lined in a green silk. The jacket snaps and buttons to close down the front and the skirt closes with a hidden set side zipper. I see a teeny darkened mark on the skirt near a seam and a teeny faint spot on the back that is very minor but mention for accuracy. There are some missing embellishments here and there.
- The jacket is tagged at FR42, GB14, IT46, US10. The skirt is tagged FR36, GB8, IT40, US4.
- Excellent condition with the notes above.

Incredible Fall 1986 Valentino by the Original Mr. Valentino Black Velvet Dress w Rhinestone Insets
I Have a Question
- The twin of this gorgeous dress walked the Fall 1986 runway.
- It was made under the creative direction of the original Mr Valentino.
- This is an exceptional example of Valentino's work that he was doing during the 1980s. Finding pieces from this time period in such immaculate condition is a rarity and I am very pleased to have this beautiful dress in the shop.
- In 2022 Sara Sampaio wore one backwards on the red carpet.
- I love having the red carpet and runway photo so that you can see how the dress can be worn either way around. We also photoed it both ways so that you can see how it lies.
- The dress is made out of an inky black velvet and then the back inset and end of each sleeve are made out of a stiffened silk chiffon fine net that has the rows of glittering rhinestones set onto it
- The dress has all of the red carpet feel that you look for in the best of his work. The shoulders are shaped with inner padding, and then they extend down into the sleeves, which are wider at the tops near the shoulder and narrow to those amazing cuffs.
- Each cuff is a band of the silk that has hand applied horizontal rows of rhinestones wrapped around them for a glamorous finish. I love this extra detail that lets you have that bit of glitz no matter which way around you decide to wear the dress.
- The bodice is meant to skim out from the shoulders. The same shape is repeated at the back.
- The waist is brought in with subtle darting and then it curves out and over the hips to fall to the floor, widening out slightly as it near the hem.
- The inset of net and rhinestones has been set on a sharp angle that extends to the lower back. When this is turned around to be worn at the front, it goes down to the low waist. There is transparency here so if you do decide to wear it to the front you can also decide how daring you want to be as far as what you wear underneath.
- This is an exceptional and early example of his work.
- The dress is fully lined in a black silk organza with the areas covered in rhinestones having transparency between the rows. It closes with a hidden set zipper placed at what was traditionally the front. Padding in each shoulder. Each cuff closes with a hidden set zipper. The back skirt extends slightly longer and has a bit of fullness. If you wear the rhinestone side to the front, you will have that little bit of extra fabric there.

Beautiful Resort 2014 Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Backless & Caped Panel Ivory Silk Chiffon Dress
I Have a Question
- The dress is from the Resort collection from 2014.
- It was made under the creative direction of Riccardo Tisci.
- I have had the dotted one version in the shop before and this all white version is one of the most beautiful pieces to have come out of his time at Givenchy. We have added a reference photo of the dotted one so you can see the fit.
- In Vogue's review of the show it was noted that just the week before the Resort collection was debuted Tisci had won the CFDA's International Award and he was quoted as saying at the time that "This year has been beautiful and amazing for me".
- The dress is magnificent. It is made out of a silk chiffon that is a very fine scarf weight silk that is very difficult to work with especially given the elaborate draping that has been done on this dress.
- The fabric has the slightest bit of texture worked into it. This helps to give the dress a little bit of lift and volume so that it seems to float around you when you move. It would have taken many hours and a high degree of technical skill to drape that silk so perfectly into place.
- The dress is cut to flow beautifully around the body. The neckline is set high with a band that curves around your neck. The bodice is gathered into that and then drapes down over your front in a series of soft gathers. These are then set into the the waist so that the top and skirt gather in a pretty way into the seam.
- The skirt flows to the floor from there widening out slightly as it near the hem. It is cut slightly longer at the back for a pretty sweep behind you as you move.
- The halter front leaves your entire back completely bare and the waist line at the back is curved downwards slightly and above that is nothing but a bare expanse of skin.
- Two long panels of silk are attached at each shoulder so that they drape dramatically over and down towards the floor. You can wear them over the shoulder more so that you get a more caped effect or wear them more towards the back so that they act like long panelled trains that billow out behind you.
- All of the silk and layers are cut on the bias so the dress really has the most spectacular movement when you move.
- It is simple and classic but has a high impact feel at the same time.
- The bodice and skirt are lined in an ivory silk chiffon and the dress closes with a low set back zipper and hooks to close at the back of the neck. It appears to have never been worn or worn very little.

Alexandre Vauthier
Phenomenal Fall 2011 Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Runway Look Hand Beaded Red Silk Chiffon Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this extraordinary dress walked the Fall 2011 Vauthier Haute Couture runway.
- It was made under the creative direction of Alexandre Vauthier
- Alexandre Vauthier launched his label in 2009. He started his fashion career in 1993 working for Thierry Mugler as an intern and working his way up to assistant designer to Mugler himself. In 1997 he joined Jean Paul Gaultier where he in charge of the Couture collections for the following eight years.
- He left in 2008 to open his own couture atelier showing his first collection in 2009. From 2011 to 2014 the label was a designated guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de haute couture and since December 2014 he has been a full Couture member. Vauthier departed the label in 2025 it was acquired by Revolve marking the end of the Couture division.
- This is the actual piece that was shown on the runway and may very well be the only one in existence. I love that we have both the runway reference photos and video. You can see how fantastically it moves and looks once on the body.
- The dress is made from a red silk chiffon that has an extensive and very dense application of red bead work hand applied onto it.
- Every line of the dress has been precisely cut and patterned so that it falls perfectly in the lines that he intended it to be shaped in.
- The shoulders are soft and extend into long cut sleeves that are also completely and densely beaded to match the body of the dress. In the runway photo the shoulders look slightly more shaped than the dress in person to me and I think that they may have added temporary padding to style it for the show. Adding your own is a decision that could be made once you have it in hand and try it on.
- The dress is cut to skim over the body and highlight it everywhere. The sleeves are cut a little extra long so that once on the arm they bunch up a touch. There is a cut out. opening that is left under each arm. I have photoed that so that you can see. This was probably done not only as a design choice but to allow movement and not have to worry about the bead work being constricted.
- The neckline is scooped and the dress is shaped to come in at the waist and then curves back out and around the hips so that it skims perfectly over the body.
- The beadwork that sits over the sleeves and body of the dress has been done and a little sections that curve around each other and catch the light differently as you move. You can see in the video how this creates an almost flame like feel over you.
- The skirt is absolutely amazing. As the beads run down over the hips to join into the skirt they become these long flame like ribbons of bead work that extend into varying lengths down and into the skirt. The effect is absolutely beautiful and perfectly picks up on the way the beads were executed through the body of the dress.
- Under the beadwork, the skirt is made out of a red silk chiffon that is very light and weight. It curves slightly up at the front and then extends out into two angled points at the back which again feels like an extension of the flame motif that the dress has.
- You can see on the runway that once very bright lights hit the skirt, it has a sense of transparency to it. That is quite extraordinary and done to highlight the bead work and add a bit of sexiness to the dress despite it full coverage. At the back it trails out past the hem to float around you as you walk.
- The dress is amazing on the body and it is just a beautiful and very sexy dress and an extraordinary little piece of true Haute Couture fashion history.
- The upper portion of the dress is lined in a silk chiffon through the body and the skirt is unlined. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and each cuff closes with a hidden set zipper. This is the actual dress that was worn on the runway and is completely made by hand. It is the original runway sample dress. The beads have been hand sewn so closely to the edges of the zipper that you do have to take care when zipping and unzipping the dress as they can catch and you can see a little bit of catching of thread and perhaps the very occasional missing bead here and there along that edge. I am being pretty picky. This was done to give the illusion that the dress has no opening. Inside the silk chiffon that was used to line the dress is very delicate and there have been some repairs made. This was probably done after the runway show to strengthen parts of the inner lining and can be typical of runway samples. I also see a touch of a mark on one arm on the inner lining, a small tear and some repairs to the silk of the lining. None of this shows through but is mentioned for accuracy and is photoed after the label shot. Some of the seam work is handed basted and this adds to the feel that this is the original sample because that is often how you see runway samples finished.

- It was made under the creative direction of the original, Mr. Valentino
- We have included some photos from the Spring 2004 Valentino collection of dresses with similar elements to this one. This is a dress that was produced for the shops and it is absolutely gorgeous.
- The dress is made out of a feather light black silk chiffon and the lightness of this fabric choice creates a soft and romantic feel as it floats over your body.
- The entire dress is cut to allow it to drape beautifully over the body and highlight your curves.
- The bodice is finished with tiny and precise pleats that wrap all the way around to the back. The top of the bodice is gathered into a sweetheart and the back sits on a slight curve to leave the upper back bare and exposed.
- A ruffled panel of black silk chiffon is set along straps that are meant to sit off the shoulder. Once this is on a body, it will sit around the upper arm. I think, depending on the space between the shoulder and bodice you might also be able to wear this on the top of the shoulder.
- The waist is cinched and seamed to follow the curve of the body.
- From there it curves out and over the hips and the panels of chiffon that make up the skirt float around you as the skirt falls to the floor.
- The skirt is a little masterpiece in its own right. It is actually made of a series of panels that are all set in around the waist. They are attached together to just under the hip and sat in a way so that they overlap each other as they fall to the floor.
- Each panel is a long rectangle that widen out to their curved ends. Each of the individual panels are finished with a ruffle of a matching black silk chiffon that runs all the way around the entire panel. I love how the ruffle is smaller near the top of the hip and then also widen out as it circles around the bottom of each panel.
- The panels overlap each other as they curve around you but there is no inner lining. It is the overlapping and the multiple layers of the panels that make it opaque enough to wear. Besides making it wearable, the separation of the panels once they get past the hip area is what allows the extraordinary amount of movement that the skirt has when you move.
- The silk chiffon that was used is feather light and the dress is a dream in person.
- The dress is fully lined in a black silk chiffon through the bodice and the skirt is constructed as described above. It closes with a hidden set side zipper. It is in its original uncut length. I see a tiny repair near the hem and along the hem. Both extremely minor. It otherwise.appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Fabulous Fall 2011 Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Runway Look 3 Green Print Corset Front Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress was presented for Look 3 for the Fall 2011 Pucci collection
- It was made under the creative direction of Peter Dundas.
- Besides being shown on the runway it also made an appearance on the amfAR red carpet that season.
- I love that all the various reference photos and video give you an amazing idea of how gorgeous this is on the body.
- The dress is made out of the classic modern Pucci jersey that makes it extremely comfortable to wear but also perfectly defined your curves. The fabric has some stretch and it is lined in a black stretch silk so that it sits very flattering on top of the body.
- The front neck is scooped and is edged in a bit of ruffled raw edged silk for a pretty detail. The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are long.
- Each sleeve zips to close around the wrist and are finished with that same pretty little ruffle detail.
- The front bodice is phenomenal. It has an inner boned corset piece that starts near the top of the shoulders and then comes down in on angle to the waist. This helps to flatten out the front and push the breasts up. It is a nod to a historical front corset and is very flattering once on the body.
- It skims over the bust and waist around this front corset piece and is brought in slightly to add shape around the waist area. From there it curves back out over the hips and falls to the floor.
- The bottom flares out quite a bit so you have some movement around you when you move. You can see that on the runway video. The back is cut longer than the front so you get a pretty sweeping feel behind you.
- This is a gorgeous example of Peter's time at the label.
- The dress is fully lined in a black stretch silk layer. The back of the corset part is lined in a black cotton mix. It closes with a back hidden set zipper and has hidden set zippers at each wrist. The jersey has some stretch and I have put the comfortable range of measurements below. Its easy fit and stretch should allow it to fit a range of sizes. It is in its original uncut length. It appears to have been worn very little, if at all.

Fantastic Fall 1998 Giorgio Armani Runway, Ad Campaign & Exhibit Silk Skirt w Fall 2001 Sequin Top Set
I Have a Question
- The skirt from this set is from the Fall 1998 runway and then sequin top was shown on the runway for Fall 2001.
- It was made under the creative direction of Giorgio Armani.
- The twin of the skirt walk the runway with a fitted long sleeved matching top. That version of the set was used in the ad campaign. It is also featured in their new Archivo online section, worn on the red carpet and featured in an Armani exhibit.
- My client wore it with this sequin top instead that is also from the Armani main line and its twin was in the runway collection.
- The base of the top is a blue chiffon that is a slightly different shade than the skirt. Because of the heavy application of sequins it works well together.
- The top is a simple tank with a scooped front and back and a more generous cut through the body that makes it very easy to wear.
- It is fully covered in blue iridescent sequins that are laid flat outside by side horizontally. Mixed into that are little tiny, silver, sequins and beads rose of tiny seed, beads and little shots of white sequins and red bead work. It's very pretty and the entire top has the sequence coverage on both the front and the back.
- I love how at the back of the top it's left with no closures for the little bit of the bottom. This is a very Armani signature where he lets part of the closure stay open, so you have that little peak of the skirt underneath it and that little bit of extra movement.
- The skirt is stunning. It's made out of a deep blue silk mix, and it is all cut on the bias. It has a flat front with an inner band that helps to hold it and give structure around the waist.
- From there, it curves out over the hips and expands outward to the floor. The front is cut shorter, and then the back herbs around to become a sweeping train of silk behind you. There is a slit that runs up one side so that when you walk, you get a flash of leg.
- I love that because it is two separate pieces. You can wear these together or mix a match either piece with existing things in your wardrobe.
- The top is fully lined in a blue chiffon and closes with hidden set snaps at the back. The skirt is online and closes with a hidden set side zipper.
- The skirt is tagged a vintage Armani 42 and the top has no size tag present.

Spring 2018 Michael Kors Runway Look 72 Silver Sequin Dress on Nude Stretch Net w Asymmetrical Hem
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Spring 2018 show as Look 72.
- It was made under the creative direction of Michael Kors.
- The dress is fantastically documented and was one of the hit looks of the season. It was used in the ad campaign, was worn on the red carpet and appeared in editorials that season. The dress sold out worldwide and was waitlisted. In the shops this dress sold for just over $7000 USD.
- The dress is made out of a lingerie feeling stretch net as its base and it has a lining of the same fabric. That gives it just enough opaqueness to comfortably wear, but still has a feel of being nude from a distance.
- Onto that is an elaborate design done in thousands of tiny silver sequins. The sequins cover the entire dress so that it glitters in the light from every angle.
- The neck is scooped and the shoulders are soft. The sleeves are long and narrow in slightly at each cuff where they have a hidden set zipper to close.
- The stretch of the base material allows it to skim over you and feel fitted but at the same time you still have that movement in the fabric that makes it very comfortable to wear. The perfect combination of fit and comfort.
- It follows the body, coming in at the waist and then curving back out over the hips. It starts to widen under the hips and there is a seam that is set on a slanted angle.
- The skirt is set in along the slanted angle and follows the angle so that you get an amazing asymmetrical feel. There is a lot of fabric in the skirt so when you move it has fantastic movement around you. You can see this in the runway reference video.
- This is Michael Kors at his best and a phenomenally collectible dress.
- The dress is fully lined in a second layer of the stretch net through the body and skirt. The sleeves are unlined. It closes with a hidden set back zipper and each sleeve has a hidden set zipper at the cuff. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

simone rocha
Spring 2017 Simone Rocha Runway Look 6 Transparent Raincoat w Embroidered Tulle Backing
I Have a Question
- The twin of this coat walked the runway for Look 6 on the Spring 2017 Simone Rocha runway.
- It was made under the creative direction of Simone Rocha.
- Vogue said of the collection "when it comes down to it, Rocha's work always consists of a limited set of templates: trenchcoats, loosely fitted, lacy, semi sheer dresses, frills and florals, clear plastic heed shoes, and bags. This time, she used her utilitarian theme to bring in wrapping and tying, often leaving one shoulder of raincoat and jackets hanging off, and adding soft Crossbody sling bags on top."
- This is one of the pieces where she left one sleeve hanging off the model. It was shown on the runway layered over a dress.
- The fabric of this is fascinating. It is made out of a clear plastic raincoat fabric that has an ivory net backing. To hold the two fabrics together it is rolled and stitched at the edges but it also has a floral pattern embroidered through both layers. The final effect is this whimsical embroidered raincoat fantasy piece.
- The cut is pure Simone in feel with all of the exaggerated volume and pomp that you expect from her work.
- The collar around the neck is rounded and the as it runs down the length of the front it can be flipped back on itself with buttonholes placed down the front so that you can secure it in place. I have kept it buttoned for all of these photos but you could also undo them and wear it unbuttoned. They can also act double duty as different ways to close and style the jacket.
- The body is loose and easy with slash huge pockets built in around the hip. From there it expands outwards to become extremely full and open.
- It can be worn with all of that volume on full display, or you can use its matching belt to cinch in the waist and add extra extraordinary shape so that you have volume above and below.
- The sleeves are phenomenal. They are more like a mini cape than a sleeve. They come out from where they are set into the body of the coat and are completely open underneath. The hem of each sleeve is gathered in so that you get a very full poof above. I love that each sleeve has ties attached. Those ties are used to wrap around the arm and tie in place to create further shape.
- The entire jacket has a feeling of transformation because of the belt and ties at the arm and the way the buttons run down the front. You really have several options in the way that you can wear it.
- This would also make a phenomenal piece, not just for the collector, but as a piece for a bride looking for a unique cover-up.
- The coat is unlined and has a some transparency. It buttons down the front if you wish and the belt can be buckled or tied into place. The plastic has retained a touch of the dry cleaning solvent smell. It is not overwhelming, but I do want to mention it for accuracy. Because of the textile it would be impossible to not have this happen. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
- There is no size tag present but its open and generous cut should fit most frames. It will just feel more oversized on a smaller frame.
- Excellent condition
Sleeves: 25" and they are full and open through the upper arm

Fall 2016 Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri Net Dress w Silver Sequin & Beads
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the runway for Look 80 in the Fall 2016 collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri.
- Its twin was featured in an editorial for Marie Claire Spain that season.
- The colours for the Fall 2016 Valentino show were muted dusty pinks, greys, neutrals and blacks.
- The theme of the Valentino show was all about the ballet and modern dance. Maria told Vogue that “We always think fashion is cultural, not just about delivering clothes. We want this show to be about living your moments, feeling each moment uniquely. I really love fashion. This job we do is a good opportunity to describe the time we’re in.”
- The entire dress is made from a pale nude tulle netting that has just a hint of a pink undertone to it. It is lined in a matching silk so that is so opaque enough to wear. That lining could be removed if you preferred a full transparent feel.
- Scattered over the tulle are silver sequins that each have a tiny clear bead topping the sequin. These catch the light from every angle.
- The dress is suspended from tiny net straps that curve up and over each shoulder. The front scoops across and the upper back is left bare and exposed.
- A ruffled panel of the netting is attached all the way around the neck line and as it curves towards the back it gets wider so that it drapes down the sides and just past the waist at the back. This adds a pretty feminine and airy feel to the dress.
- The waist is seamed to nip in and the skirt is full and easy over the hips. It is very wide and full by the time it reaches the hem. Under the top layer of netting are three additional netted layers. The layer in the middle of those three has a double hem and all of this built in under-skirting helps to hold the volume and give the skirt its structure and shape. A final opaque layer in silk sits against your skin.
- This is absolutely one of the dresses that was heavily influenced by the ballet, and I love that about it.
- The dress is fully lined in a matching silk and closes with hidden set back zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Chic Resort 2018 Michael Kors Runway Look 44 Black Dress w Elaborate Gold & Black Sequin Detailing
I Have a Question
- The twin of the dress was presented for the Resort 2018 Michael Kors presentation.
- It was made under the creative direction of Michael Kors
- The show was presented at the Whitney Museum and he said that he chose that space to remind people that they live on an island, calling the theme "Tropicalia a la Tomboy". The evening pieces he described as being the "super easy, super glamorous point of the whole collection."
- This is a fantastically easy dress to wear and has all the hallmarks of the amazing tailoring that Michael excels at with this particular silhouette of dress.
- The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are small caps. The neckline is slightly scooped and the bust skims over you with perfectly placed darts to help shape it around the body.
- The waist is seamed for shape and then it curves out over the hips. It falls in a chic pencil shape that will land just below the knee depending on your height.
- The base fabric is a fine black virgin wool with a bit of spandex added so that it has some stretch and feels insanely comfortable once on the body.
- Onto that is a lovely and intricate design that runs over the entire dress. It combines tiny gold sequins that are set to overlap and create the outline of a abstract design that is filled with a little teardrop and circle shaped glossy black paillette sequins. These are only attached at their very tips so they have the slightest bit of movement. They are so densely applied that they sit off of the dress slightly to create an amazing three dimensional texture.
- It is very chic, very easy and very Michael Kors.
- The dress is fully lined in black silky rayon and closes at the back with the hidden set zipper. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

oscar de la renta
Divine Spring 2010 Oscar de la Renta Bridal Collection Strapless Ruffled Silk Organza, Silk Chiffon & Net Wedding Dress
I Have a Question
- The dress is from the Spring 2010 wedding dress collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Oscar de la Renta.
- The twin of the dress was used for the ad campaign that season.
- The gown is made out of a pale ivory that combines silk organza and silk chiffon with a silk netting. The colour is very soft and flattering. The fabric itself is very light in weight and it is only the tremendous amount of fabric in the dress that adds any weight. The lightness of all of those layers allow it to move beautifully around you once on.
- The bodice is strapless with a slight curve over the bust. A pretty double layer ruffle made of silk chiffon starts at the very top and then layers of ruffles continue all the way down the entire dress. Inside the bodice there is a full built-in cupped, wired and lightly boned stretch corset to hold everything in place.
- The layers run horizontally over the bust and waist in beautiful bands of silk chiffon that all overlap each other. The edges of each band are left raw so that it adds a touch of texture. It continues down and around the waist. By the top of the hip panels of silk organza that are caught wider start to be interest first in to the bands.
- The ruffles of the skirt start all the way up at the top of the hip and they continue down horizontally all the way to the hem. As you get lower down the skirt, the bands become wider and they start to mix a silk chiffon with a silk organza. This widening of the ruffles coincides with the widening of the lower skirt.
- I love how the volume increases as you go down the dress to give the lower skirts their massive volume and pretty romantic sweep.
- For the very lowest ruffles there is a white netting done in ruffles underneath circling the very bottom hem. Inside there are wide, weighted hymns with stiffening and this is all a clever way to help. Hold the shape around you when you stand and move.
- The back and sides extend out longer than the front so that the entire dress sweeps around and behind you beautifully.
- As beautiful as it looks in the photos this is a dress that is even better in person once moving and on an actual body.
- I love that they have made the little straps that you hang the dress on a hanger with out of a wite ribbon with the ODLR in a beautiful soft pale blue that instantly gives you a "something blue" already built into the dress.
- There is a full built-in corset that zips with its own zipper and has a inner waist stay that hooks to close. The dress is lined in a silk under that and there is an inner skirt supporting the volume of the skirt. The inner layer of the skirt is finished with stiffening around its hem to help hold the shape and volume. It closes with a back hidden set zipper. I see a bit of grubbiness along the very edge of the inner hem here and there. I think that is just from hitting the floor as it was hung in the past. It is very minor but mentioned for accuracy. The colour is slightly more ivory in person.

fendi
Spring 2008 Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld Runway Look 19 & Ad Campaign Silk Organza & Chiffon Print Dress
I Have a Question
- The twin of this dress walked the Spring 2008 Fendi runway for Look 19.
- It was made under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld
- This was a highly documented collection and this dress and versions of the dress especially were the outstanding pieces. On the runway it was shown with a belt that was sold separately in the shops. A version was included in the Met Museum's 2023 exhibition "A line of beauty". Its twin was used for the ad campaign that season and it, and a version of it, were used in editorials that year.
- The dress is very interesting in how it is made. There is a silk organza outer layer with its circular print on the skirt and more print on the sides of the bodice. Underneath that layer of the skirt is a second silk chiffon layer that has its own different print scattered all the way around the skirt so you get this diffused feel of the print underneath the top organza layer. It is very interesting.
- The dress is suspended by two tiny straps that curve over the shoulders and hook into the low waist at the back. This leaves the entire back bare and exposed.
- At the front, two triangles of fabric curve up to meet those straps and are plunged to the waist. A panel of printed silk has been set in behind those to provide some coverage and also add yet another design detail.
- The waist is defined by a wide band of the organza and then the two layers of the silk fall from there to make the skirt. Depending on your height this will fall mid-calf or slightly lower. The skirt has many yards of silk organza and silk chiffon underneath that and it has the most incredible movement as a result. The lightness of both those fabrics allow it to pick up the slightest bit of air.
- The printed silk chiffon layer under the skirt acts as the lining and the bodice is backed in silk chiffon. It closes with a hidden set zipper at the back with two button buttons on the waistband. I see a couple of small marks. There are to faint dots underneath the band at the front to the side, a mark in the print of the skirt and another near the hem. All are fairly faint and because of the print and amount of fabric do not create a huge impact. Please see the photos after the label shot

Elaborate Spring 2019 Valentino by Pierpaolo Piccioli Black Net Skirt w Hand Beading & Silk Chiffon Insets
I Have a Question
- This skirt is a production piece for the shops from the Spring 2019 collection.
- It was made under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
- On the runway a dress shown for Look 60 had similar a beaded design over its surface. We have added that runway reference for you here.
- Vogue succinctly said that "In a season when there’s been so much talk about the appreciation of couture dressmaking and craft skills, Piccioli just took it to the ultimate. It was as accomplished, as complexly cut—and as simple as that."
- The high level of craft put into a hand embroidered and beaded piece like this is evident in the price tag. The original cost of the skirt was £12,285.
- The skirt is outstanding and is beautiful to see in person. There is an inner silk skirt that snaps into place around the inner band of the waist. I love that this gives you the choice to wear the skirt fully opaque, or you can snap the lining out and have the skirt be more transparent.
- Over the inner lining is a layer of black netting and then the top layer combines tulle with insets of a light grey and deep dusty blue grey silk chiffon. Silver metallic thread and tiny silver beads run in swirling designs over the entire skirt. And if you look carefully, you see that there is one unexpected little pink pop of silk chiffon. I love that unexpected detail.
- The waist is banded with a black grosgrain that folds inwards. The inner skirt snaps onto that band so that the snaps are hidden from view.
- The skirt falls from there and has quite a bit of room through the hips so it is an easy fit. It widens out as it nears the hem. There is quite a lot of fabric in the skirt and it moves beautifully around you when you move.
- The black silk lining snaps into place as described above and both the lining and outer skirt have a zipper at the side. Without the lining snapped in the skirt has a touch of transparency. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

Spring 2015 Ralph Lauren Purple Label Beaded Silk Net Dress w Low Open Back
I Have a Question
This beautiful dress was Look 49 on the Spring 2015 runway for Ralph Lauren. At the time it was released there was a editorial that noted that the bead work alone on this dress took over 900 hours. Princess Charlene of Monaco wore one in 2016 and Sarah Jessica Parker wore one in 2023. I ove that this gives you a fantastic idea of how this looks like on the body. The Purple Label from Ralph Lauren are the high-end demi-couture pieces the label creates. Ralph Lauren launched it in 1994 and the label was meant to be the pinnacle line for the brand. The dress is beautifully made.
The dress is made from multiple layers of silk tulle over an inner silk. The colour is a earthy deep golden colour. Onto the top netted layer is the extensive and elaborate bead and prong set glass crystals that are mentioned above that took over 900 hours to apply by hand. The design completely covers the bodice and sleeves and then runs down on panels on the skirt. The front neckline is scooped across and rhinestones have been prong set in an elaborate and dense design just under the neck line. These taper down and change to these to very fine beaded curving lines that run down to the waist seam. The sleeves are long and they are also entirely covered with more delicately done bead work. At the back you have an open V that plunges down the back and exposes a bare expanse of skin. The skirt is magnificent. It has multiple layers of the tulle with individual panels attached around the skirt. These panels have the same elaborate hand beading as the sleeves. The entire skirt is made from multiple layers of panels set vertically and separated from each other from the hem to about 23" up, so when you sit or walk a certain way you get a bit of flash of leg from underneath. This gives you incredible volume as well. I loved the dropped waist and you can see that the dress can be worn with a belt as they showed it on the runway, or without for a more 1930s feel. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a matching coloured silk and closes with a low set hidden back zipper. Each sleeve buttons to close at the wrist. The skirts are made of multiple layers of tulle with an inner silk panel. Tagged a modern RL 4

Phenomenal 2012 Dolce & Gabbana Strapless Deep Red Velvet Puff Skirt Dress
I Have a Question
This is a special edition dress from 2012 and that same year its twin was worn by both Katy Perry and Sonam Kapoor. I love that this gives you the chance to see just how gorgeous this dress is once on and that it is a dress with incredible modern provenance given these two moments. Dolce and Gabbana launched in 1985 by founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who still run the label to this day. After a shaky start in the first few years, by the 1990s, they had started to open their own boutiques and had become a force in fashion. In 1993 Madonna chose them for her 1993 Girlie Show tour and they gained world wide recognition. They are known for their dramatic designs that are heavily inspired by their Sicilian heritage.
The dress is made out of a deep red velvet and that colour, combined with this fabric, gives it an extra depth and richness that it would not have in any other fabric choice. The top portion of the dress is treated in an almost corseted fashion. It is meant to be very fitted to the body. The bodice is peaked at the front and the velvet is placed over it to drape and wrap around the body in the most flattering way possible. Inside it is boned and shaped so that everything stays in place. The waist is cinched in and the illusion of a tiny waist is made even more so by the elaborate skirt that billows out all around you. The skirt is a work of art in itself. Layers and layers of net and tulle are built-in underneath that top velvet layer so that the volume you see in these photos is actually the volume that the dress has. You see that in the photos of Katie and Sonam as well. It is an extraordinary dress. Excellent condition with a minor note below.
Fully lined in red silk with boning and a cupped inner corset. Added layers under the skirt as described above. It closes with a back zipper and then the skirt snaps to close over that starting under the waist. The zipper pull was not present on the dress and we replaced it with twisted black rubber finished wire so you're able to zip the dress open and closed. Please see the photo after the shot of the label. Other than that one small detail, it appears to have been worn very little if at all. Tagged a vintage DG 36
