This eighties set is just sort of fun and fabulous. The pants have a high waist and are cut full through the leg and then taper slightly as they near the ankle. The are completely covered in tightly spaced, glossy black sequins. The way they catch the light is just marvelous! The jacket is also heavily sequined but in a bright vivid blue. I love the military nod with the patches and shoulder detailing. The jacket has sharp cut shoulders and a nipped waist cut. Very versatile since you can wear it together as intended or pair with other pieces for a an endless source of looks! Excellent condition

Both pieces are lined in silk - black for the pants and blue for the jacket. The pants close with a front hidden set zipper. The jacket has a hook and eye at the waist. I see no missing sequins or bare areas on either piece. The jacket's shoulders are wired around the upper seam area to hold the shape!

This is such a great dress! It is completely hand beaded and the shape and cut combined with that wonderful star pattern adds up to one special piece! The entire surface is covered in red tube beads intercepted by those varying sized silver beaded stars that cover the entire dress. It has a high neck and sleeves that are worked out from the bodice. It hugs the body past the hips and then there is a low dropped 10" skirt that has hidden layers of ruffles silk under it to give it volume and a sexy little kick of extra color when you sit! Fabulous! Excellent condition

This is an early Japanese, made for the tourist market, silk kimono with an interesting subtle grid pattern woven into the silk. Color wise it is an absolutely stunning combination of white, purple, yellows and blues. It is even more stunning due to that bright red and almost neon yellow inside! It is hand screened with huge flowers across its surface. Each design is also hand detailed with a painted center in each flower. I just love the romantic feel of the huge blossoms as they trail across the surface of the kimono and the sheer vividness of it. There are fantastic to wear at home, as a light evening topper or even as a dress if you add a silk slip under it and a sash! Presents as great condition with a few small flaws

The kimono is fully lined with red cotton in the sleeves and upper half and that neon yellow at the sides and bottom. It has no closures. It is in excellent shape overall with some minor marks here and there and some marks inside. A bit of thinning to the fabric along the top shoulder fold I do not feel like these distract. Please do remember these were worn and loved so have a natural patina and should not be expected to be perfect! It is after all almost 100 years old!

This is an early Japanese, made for the tourist market, silk crepe kimono in an absolutely stunning shade of a raspberry. It is hand screened and painted with hauntingly beautiful floral motifs. Each design is also hand detailed with a thin black line. I just love the romantic feel of the huge blossoms as they trail across the surface of the kimono. There are fantastic to wear at home, as a light evening topper or even as a dress if you add a silk slip under it and a sash! Presents as great condition with a few small flaws

The kimono is fully lined with white cotton in the sleeves, a solid silk through the body and a cream silk through the upper half. It has no closures. It is in excellent shape overall with some minor areas that look like old color transfers or watermarks here and there. There are also three hand done repairs - one on the front near the edge, one on a sleeve and one on the back shoulder. I do not feel like these distract. Please do remember these were worn and loved so have a natural patina and should not be expected to be perfect! It is after all almost 100 years old!

This gown is just stunning. It really has a Thea Porter feel to it with its silk and sequin combination. There is no label but it is very well made and very beautiful. I love when a very formal cut is done in an unexpected fabric and that is exactly what was done here. The turquoise silk chiffon is the absolute perfect shade of that tone of blue. It has been completely covered with a stunning design of gold metallic thread and fine gold sequins. The bodice is cupped and each cup is gathered in soft pleats. The waist nips in and then the skirt flows to the floor in a wide cascade of silk. The way it glimmers is the light is amazing. The effect is enchanting and it is a truly beautiful gown! Excellent condition

Fully lined in a turquoise silky rayon and hand finishes in the interior. It closes with a hidden set zipper. There is a break in the fabric near the zipper but it appears stable. The inside is boned and the covering over the boning is set by hand.

I always have a soft spot for these formal beaded 1950s gowns and it is very unusual to find one in such a magnificent color! The satin base is a deep azure turquoise blue and it is quite beautiful. The fabric has a floral pattern worked through it and then onto this are a combination of seed and tube beads that follow and highlight that design. This is done from top to toe making the gown a good weight when you lift it but once on it perfectly balances and feels comfortable. The top is simple and sweet and the skirt gently widens as it nears the floor. I adore the way the back has extra fabric and fullness and how it is caught up in that sweet bow! Very old Hollywood. Excellent condition.

Va-voom! This is a dress like no other. It is the perfect 1950s Hollywood starlet gown and made even better since it has been done in a jaw dropping ruby red. The entire dress is cut to follow and fit your every curve - and to create them if they are not already there. It is completely covered in red tube beads and iridescent red sequins. This gives the gown a seemingly inner glow and the fabric almost feels alive once on. I love how they used the density of the bead and sequin work to create a subtle but apparent difference between the bodice and skirt. It is sleeveless and plunges at both the front and back into deep V's. You won't be missed in this beautiful gown. In person the color is a touch deeper and richer. The camera also does not catch how it reflects the light. It's like wearing rubies from head to toe. Magnificent! Excellent condition.

Really good fifties and and sixties cocktail dresses seem to be getting harder and harder to find and this one is delicious! Made of a crisp cotton mix, it has a brilliant rose print in a color combination of blood red and black. It has no designer label but it is very well made so I would not have been surprised to find one. The bodice has minimal seaming and perfect, to the elbow, length sleeves. The skirt is really where all the detailing is. The bodice curves down past a nipped in waist to a slight drop skirt. The skirt is caught up under itself and attached to the inner lining so that it creates volume. It was not styled with a crinoline - this is the natural volume created solely through the cut and seaming. A darling flat set bow sits at the waist for the perfect finish. Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Unlined through the bodice. It closes with a back hidden set zipper. The skirt is lined in a black silk and the inner seam where the skirt attaches into the skirt has an inner edge of elastic to further help create the shape.

Fabulous little made in Mexico maxi dress done in a pink chiffon with little round medallions of gold metallic thread scattered over it. These appear to have been hand done and I love how they are different sizes. The same gold thread is used around the collar and  down the front panel. It is picked up again in a band that circles the skirt above the hem. I love the fullness of the sleeves and how they are left unlined so you get a sense of the arm underneath. The skirt has that perfect amount of fabric so ti feels airy and light but is not so full that it becomes cumbersome to wear. Easy to style with sandals for day or heel for night. Excellent condition

Fully lined in a pink silky rayon and slips on to wear with buttons at the front to the waist. The sleeves are unlined and semi-sheer. Each cuff ends in elastic. Slightly deeper pink that how it photoed - a touch more dusky and not as vivid in person.

This gown and evening coat set is incredible. Literally like nothing I have ever seen and exquisite in person. The gown is sleeveless with a high neckline and a A-line shape that goes right to the floor. The fabric is a sheer nude silk organza that has a almost animal print feel metallic thread that covers both pieces from head to toe. Both pieces have heavy beading and embellishment. The gown has a huge bib of beads and rhinestones that cover the front to the waist. The arms are ringed in gold braiding. On the hem there is a full 12" of more beads and braiding! The coat has those same heavy bands of applique and bead work on each sleeve and in a wide panel that runs down the front. I love the rounded and padded collar and how the snap is set in at its end so when closes you get a complete circle effect. The layer of organza over the inner silk on both pieces gives it depth and a wonderful sense of dimension. These are heavy pieces when off due to the extensive and high end beading but balance well once on. They are so chic and so rich feeling - you would be hard pressed to find anything like it again! It is also so versatile since you can obviously wear the pieces separately as well! It was undoubtedly a custom piece. Excellent condition with a few tiny things of note.

Both pieces are lined in silk. The dress closes with a ling side zipper and the coat has hidden, fabric covered snaps. There is minor bead loss and some very small tears to the next overlay here and there that the beads are fixed to. Along the very hem of the dress and coat the fabric has split here and there from touching the ground. - I can put a stitch or tow to secure it before shipping. Overall these are minor and you really do not notice a thing since the set present so dramatically

An interesting side note - this was pulled by a major fashion magazine for a shoot with a prominent photographer - I will release that info for the buyer!

For some reason this completely reminds me of the gown that Grace Kelly made famous even though it is a slightly different cut. It seems to be exactly a gown that she would have chosen and has that feel of that old Hollywood glamour to it. Made of a ice blue in a beautiful fine silk satin it is extremely well made and it makes me batty that there is no label in it as it surely is a designer piece as it has all the hallmarks of a high end garment! The straps unbutton on both sides inside the top edge so that it can be worn with the straps or as a strapless gown. The bust is fitted and boned and the waist nips in. It is cut narrow through the skirt so you get a very sexy walk but opens through the bottom hem with a beautiful mermaid shapes skirt so it is not difficult to walk in. On the proper size girl it will fit like a second skin - it is actually a touch loose on my mannequin but I did not want to pin the fabric and potentially mark it. Excellent condition and a true testament to the level of dressmaking during this time period. 

Fully lined in pale blue tissue silk that is entirely hand set. Hand set, painted metal zipper. Hand covered and set boning through the shaped bodice. Straps unbutton so it can be worn strapless. A wide band of horsehair ribbon is set within the hem so it keeps it shape and fullness.

A romantic and feminine thirties dress is done on a rust colored machine lace that is pieced on the bias so that is skims over the body and moves where it needs to to accommodate and accentuate your curves. The skirt widens as it nears the hem and has a fair amount of fabric to it. Both the front and back dip quite low for a sexiness that is undeniable. You can wear a wisp of a mude silk slip under this and it will appear as if you have nothing on but a layer of lace or be more bold and use color underneath as contrast. Excellent condition

Unlined and closes with a small opening at the waist with snaps. The side does not fully open so you have to rememebr that when buying since it has to slip on.

Its a lovely detail that makes the dress feel more finished and gives it a party feel. Excellent condition

The exterior  on this showstopper is a black silk chiffon with a "feather" design in fine gold and silver thread. This is contrasted by a shocking pink silk taffeta interior that gives it a crazy pop of color that you get glimpses of with every movement because of the cut of the dress. It is fitted through the body with one shoulder and arm left bare. The other is encased in fabric. A panel drapes over the body and is secured at the shoulder with a panel of fabric draping down the back. The front is cut high and the back low allowing for that aforementioned pink to show! Very chic and different! Excellent condition

Fully lined in pink silk taffeta and closes with a side metal and nylon zipper. The panel of fabric across the front is attached on one side and hooks with three hook & eye on the opposite shoulder. There are some slight water stains to the inside lining but it present perfectly as these do not show when on.

This set is just fabulous! It is very unusual and the cut tot he jacket especially is really amazing. I also love that the jacket is lined in fabric that is a perfect match to the dress! The dress itself is a simple shift. The fabric is a silky rayon and the print is a chocolate on a white backdrop. It skims over the body and there is a small slit on each side. The jacket has that same fabric used inside and it is cut on a square cut across the bust. The buttonholes are finished and the to the elbow sleeves add an infinite styling possibility with colored gloves in my mind! It is very chic and unusual and well made. It presents as excellent but please do read the condition notes in the next paragraph.

The dress is fully lined in a white silky rayon and closes with a back, painted metal zipper, The jacket is lined in a matching fabric to the dress and closes with buttons as shown that are properly finished. The jacket is in excellent condition. The dress present as perfect but if you look very close in certain light there are a couple of small areas where the white has the slightest yellow tinge. I am being pretty picky!

I love the color combination with the pretty lemon colored lace and net sitting over the inner peach pink layer of fabric. The effect is so pretty and reminds me of what some of the modern day designers have been doing on the runway lately. The lace has a small cording that defines the floral pattern of the design. Worked within those created edges are hand applied clear sequins so the dress has a subtle bit of a glint to it. The cut follows the body and has a bit of a bombshell feel. Both the back and front dip into softened V's. Very pretty and in excellent condition.

The under dress serves as the lining. It closes with a back painted metal zipper.

The simple cut and gorgeous fabric are then given a pop of glitz with an elaborate keyhole neckline whose edges are outlined in silver braiding and then adorned with pearls, rhinestones and beads. Very chic and very pretty! Excellent condition.

This is an amazing example of the work and craft that was being out into evening gowns in the early sixties. This gown is a work of art and has the resulting richness and decadence to show for it. A rich, heavy slubbed silk in a rich champagne color has been extensively detailed top to bottom. Each f the designs you see has been hand applied to the gown and donein a way that each seems like an applique with a 3D quality. Worked into the bead design are dense hand applied silver sequins that are done in clusters within the design to give little glints of light. The neckline is high with a slight scoop and the dress skims the body with just a suggestion of a waist. The skirt falls to the floor in a graceful arch of fabric. I love that each sleeve is cut wide to pick up the shape of the skirt. The detailing is done top to bottom and it is a substantial piece that feels good and weighty when in the hand and yet sits comfortably when on. A rare and fabulous piece that would be suitable for the most formal occasions including a wedding! These pieces were custom made during this time period so it is truly a one of a kind gown. Excellent condition.

This is a fantastic 1960s jumpsuit in a light pink brocade , upon which gold thread has been worked in so that the entire piece glows when you move. The pattern is fantastic - part of the pink is a deeper tone and slightly puffed to it has a pretty, textured effect. The upper bodice is sleeveless and cut in A V at the front. This V is edged with gold thread braiding over which pearls and beads are placed to give it s a bit of glitz. This continues up and around the neck and also encircles the waist. The bottom is amazing - at first glance it appears to be a full billowing skirt but its really insanely wide cut pants! Excellent condition!

This dress is just incredible. Every square inch of it is covered with sequins that are each individually topped with a singe bead at the sequins center. The fabric underneath this layer of sequins and beads is printed with the design that you see and then colors of the sequins fallow that underlying pattern, Because each sequin is topped with a bead the "shine" of the sequins is taken down a notch and it has a more subtle glint and shine then a pieces that would only be sequins would have. I cannot even begin to think of the hours that went into creating this! It is very heavy but not tot he point where it is uncomfortable to wear. Because the weight is so evenly distributed it works well when on. Its cut in a fairly simple, straight sheath so that the cut does not fight with the fabric. Sleeveless, a high straight across neck and a side slit. Excellent condition

Fabulous little mod shift dress made out of an unusual fabrication. The fabric is a golden brocade that has pale blue leaves woven through it. Bits of the golden backdrop show through the leaves making for interesting plays on the light as it hits the dress from different angles! The cut through the body is fairly straight with just a hint of an A-line as it nears the hem. The sleeves I love - they each widen as the near the elbow and are quite wide there! A pretty 1950s day dress in an unusual palette of green, blue and copper. These are set in rows that cover the dress from shoulder to hem and the effect is just lovely! The bodice skims the torso and has lovely little top set pockets! I just love that little detail! The waist nips in and the skirt is slightly full and set into the waist with pretty pleats. You could add a light crinoline for more fullness but we have photoed it without! a great and wearable day piece that is in excellent condition.

Unlined and closes at the front with buttons and has hidden snaps under the waist line. Note that the bottom button was replaced at some point with a button slightly darker then the brown ones above.

Made from an amazing printed silk that is cut on the bias so has a touch of stretch to it, this dress is just wonderful. It appears to have been stored properly for all these years as the color is as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made! The design is just stunning. The base is a deep olive green and then onto this is screened beautiful little teal flowers in a stylized painting type of look. Interspersed with this is little squares of white and a cherry red. The colors that have been used are really beautiful and when combined with that fabric it is a beauty! I love how the skirt has been screened to work with the pleats so when you dance you get an unexpected flash of print! The cut is simple and sweet with a V neck and gathers along each shoulder. The waist is cut loose and easy and the skirt is cut has quite a bit of fabric that opens out from the more fitted hip area. It moves wonderfully! It has a slight nod to the twenties in that its not meant to fit tightly- it just skims the body and drapes. Wonderful condition.

Unlined and closes with a side metal zipper. The tiniest of fading near the seam under the arm but it does nto detract and present perfectly when on.

Very fine, high end silk was used to create this stunning hourglass, bombshell of a dress from the late 1950s. The silk has an exotic sari feel to it. During this time period India was a great fascination as it opened to the Western world and you saw pieces made for he Western market made of these fine and beautiful silks. The blue is a deep sea turquoise and gold floral medallions are woven directly into the fabric. The neckline and hem are bordered in a band of gold in a more dense pattern. I love how it hugs the body and has that side slit. It is beautifully made and very light. Very sexy. Excellent condition

A great hostess robe that could potentially be worn as a light evening coat if you wished! Love the top stitched quilted effect around the neckline and the unusual shape there too. It is cut with a slight empire waist and then bottom skirting is cut on a nice wide A-line. The belt is just spectacular - it's woven metal thread that has rhinestones and beads worked into it - very well made and adds a great bit of bling! The round double row of rhinestones that make the buckle are the perfect finish. Hidden pockets on each side. It's a great piece and in excellent condition with a couple of small things noted below.

The first thing that strikes you with this dress is the sound - it actually makes a beautiful tinkling sound as the metal tips of the fringed areas move and hit each other! Its quite pretty and really unusual too! It is made of a very very fine silk jersey. This came out of the same estate that the Tiktiner's came out of and I would suspect that this is also from that label - it is made to the same high quality and the fabric is similar. The bright print is fabulous but of course it is the fringe sleeves with their metal tips that steal the show! The belt has a fringe detail with the same metal tip treatment! Really unique and wonderful! Excellent condition!

The top is unlined and skirt lined in a black rayon. It closes with a back hidden set zipper. The belt presents well but the backing is separating from the front in some spots- it closes with velcro strips.

A wonderful 1950s dress with an amazingly full skirt and the most gorgeous checked front pattern! The back is a solid grey but the front has tiny strips of white ribbons sewn onto it in precise little rows. These create a beautiful grid or checked feel! It is made of that wonderful 1950s cotton. The waist nips in, the skirt is as full as full can be and it is sleeveless. The little cut edged early plastic buttons are the cream on this cupcake of a dress! Excellent condiiton

This fabulous lime hostess dress is just waiting for the perfect party! The construction is quite interesting on this one - that front panel actually opens to a wide pleat at the bottom with the same fabric inset under it. I love that the front panel is set so it goes from neck to floor. The collar and all down the front on both sides have a silver lame backed detail that is then beaded with has prong set rhinestones and faux pearls added for a little extra glitz! I love the shape and cut - it is classic hostess gown and the high collar and front cut make it more so! It feels very Miu Miu esque and the color is divine! Great condition

A stunning silky rayon Hawaiian Pake Muu that is in really excellent condition! The colors are superb and still are bright and crisp. The base is an ocean blue and the print features flowers and cranes hand screened onto the fabric. Every edge of the piece that would possibly show when you move has been lined a few inches deep in a bright yellow silk. A frog closure sits at the neck to wear open or closed and it has a side slit for a flash of leg! Big kimono sleeves too! A stunning piece that is a nice bright pop of color. It is everything you want as a collector. Excellent condition.

The cotton on this dress is that wonderful soft, polished cotton that you only find in upper end vintage pieces it seems. It is screened with a tropical print in lush yellows and oranges. The bust is shaped and it has a built in bra with the old fashioned hook and grommet on an elastic band fastening at the back that sits under the outer bodice. The straps of this gem are ingenious - they are doubled and then stitched to form little loops. This allows you to attach them to the buttons hidden at the back and to wear them a few different ways. You can also tuck them and wear it strapless! I love the gathered bust detail on the bodice and the skirt is a faux wrap. I have styled it with a crinoline underneath so you can see how full it can go! (crinoline not included). It is a wonderful dress and in excellent condition!

A stunning, bold silk, bias cut gown that is hand screened and printed with a bold off-white and black floral print. One of the best of these dresses I have had, it is really a beauty and in amazing condition! The neckline is slightly wide and sits just at the edge of the shoulders. It scoops and gathers at the mid neck and there is a soft shawl collar that drapes over the shoulders. It is impeccably seamed - the lower skirt is added in pointed inset seamed pieces typical of the time period and insanely hard to do on bias cut fabric. The bias cut means that there are yards and yards of silk that moves beautifully with you as you move and the gathered slightly trained skirt is just icing on the cake. That print is simply delicious and surprisingly modern and edgy for a piece of this age! Excellent condition!

Fantastic New England sea shore print novelty dress from the 1940s done in a stunning, hand screened print that depicts seaside pictures on it. A whaling boat, schooners and mansions by the shore are all set in pretty little picture boxes. In the background print you can find places in the US east coast - Salem, New Bedford, Provindetown.....amazing! The silk is a beautiful weight and almost has a sueded feel to it. Silk taffeta in a deep blue is set in a peplum ruffle around the hip and it also finishes each cuff. I love the subtly sexy little keyhole at the neck too. It is a labelled piece and very well made. That print would have been specially designed specifically for this dress and made for the East coast summer tourist market! Excellent condition!

It is rare that you see a design that is so unusual it seems like you have not seen it done quite that way before! This dress meets that criteria and is impossibly beautiful as well. If you love it in the pictures you will die when you see it in person. It is labeled a Marusia Original and is a dress fit for a pin-up queen! The main dress has a simple, boned bodice and lean fitted pencil skirt. The lace has been highlighted with glossy black sequins and trails of jet glass tube beads all over the entire surface. Over that is a remarkable silk hip piece that is a combination peplum and asymmetrical train of fabric - it wraps and is attached around the hips and is hand draped into place. From there it wraps around to the back and then dramatically drapes to the floor in a side train-like fashion that is extreme and utterly fabulous. Pretty black silk straps sit atop each shoulder. Lots of hand finishes and impeccably seamed. Excellent condition!

Really one of the most amazing forties dresses I have had. Its made of a fine silk - think Hermes scarf type silk. It has an amazing design screened onto the silk - It has a dragon scale feel to it - for some reason I think of dragons every time I look at it. The accent details are stunning loops and swirls of stylised flowers and vines with little floral details scattered about. I am not sure if I have captured the subtle use of a pale pink that highlights some of the floral details - A pale pale pink has been screened here and there. Really a work of art! That pink is carried through with a solid fabric in a blush pink added to the interiors of the hip pockets and it also backs that wonderful panel at the back. The cut is classic pin-up femme fatale! The skirt is long and deliciously lean. Pockets are set on each hip and constructed to sit out and emphasize the hourglass shape. The bodice is cut full with sleeves that narrow though to the cuffs. The back has an extra panel of fabric - again used cleverly to emphasize every curve. Its labelled and exquisitely made. The lucky girl who gets this will be very pleased indeed! It is truly a special piece

Made from prized early silky rayon this dress is just wonderful. It appears to have never been worn, or worn very little and has been stored properly for all these years so the color is as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made! The design is just stunning. This is a dream of a dress! Romantic, pale pink silk chiffon with a hot pink silk ribbon accent and the most wonderfully constructed strapless bodice! Though it looks at first glance to be a free flowing skirted gown it is actually a column of silk over which an additional panel of silk flows. Yards and yards of silk are attached over a long and lean inner skirt that is comprised of two layers of silk. The effect when worn is wonderful as the inner layer give structure while that outer panel is allowed to flow and move. It's actually open down the front so the effect is further heightened. The bodice is beautiful. It is strapless with fine edged silk organza ribbon folded and hand placed to create soft florets in pale pinks. Fantastic seventies caftan with a luxe twist! The caftan has an inner poly jersey dress that is basically a tube running from the shoulders down. Super comfortable to wear. Over this a lace and gold thread overlay is attached at the shoulders and around the neckline so it flows and moves but stays properly in place. The overlay is a machine lace in a azure blue tone with gold colored threading running through and highlighting each "fan" design. It narrows slightly as it nears the ankles which helps to still give the idea of shape and silhouette. I love the raffia look cording that is stitched and looped into place to give a bit of wild child flare to the piece. In excellent condition and a super easy piece to wear day or night!
