1940s Amazing Full Sequin Pin Up Dress

Absolutely exquisite early bombshell pin up dress that just had to be owned by the most fabulous of girls! Rarely have I seen such a sizzling early piece like this one! Silk crape has been given the all out glamour treatment with squiggling rows of sequins applied from top to bottom. They are applied in stacked little rows so you get two effects - one that wonderful gloss and shimmer from the sheen of the sequins themselves, and two - an almost 3D effect from the opulent use of them! It's cut to follow your curves with an oddly generous waist measurement - works perfect for girls now who don't like to cinch with undergarments like they use to! I think the detail that knocks it out of the park has to be that insane "flame" neckline - a jagged flame like designs runs around the entire collar of the dress. I can't help but think that had to be made for the stage or the movies - its just that glam! Wonderful, rare piece and in excellent condition.

1960s Cream Guaze & Lace Boho Maxi

A fantastic flower power, hippie chic sixties dress is aching for a girl to wear this with the same abandon I am sure its original owner did! The fabric is really unusual - its a poly that has a huge open weave - almost like an off white, over zealous gauze. Mixed with this are strips of machine lace in wide panels on each sleeves and two bands circling the lower skirt. The top is all Victorian princess meets Maid Marion - the neckline has a drawstring to close or loosen as you wish and lace trails down the front to the waist seam. A matching brained cord circles the waist and each sleeve has a bit of pouf! A wonderful piece that is in excellent condition!

1950s Cotton w Floral Applique Sundress

This is a charming and delightful early fifties sun dress! It's made from that crisp wonderful cotton that seems truest in these dresses from that time period. The skirt is knee length and wonderfully full - its all gathered in tiny teeny little pleats through the waist seam and then cascades out from there, The top is typical of the time period - side zip and a button front with the cutest pointed collar and short sleeves. This dress gets the full on feminine treatment though - the entire front bodice is corded to create leaves and stems and then a virtual flower garden of little embroidered flower heads are stitched into place giving it a 3D appearance! Lovely and in wonderful condition!

1960s Chiffon & Lame Dress

This dress is one of those little vintage mysteries. My client insists its from the forties but I think its a little later but perhaps parts of its construction were both based on and taken from original forties bts. The side zip is definitely older and the placement of the zipper then is probably what led to the confusion. I think it is the result of a dressmaker who just happened to a) like the old techniques and b) has an extra zipper in her basket that was used! It has a late 30s feel to it - flutter sleeves and a dropped waist. The skirt is tremendously full - the amount of fabric in there is astounding. This gives it lost and lots of movement like a true swing dress. The bodice has pretty little gathers around the scooped neck and on the back as well. The fabric is a synthetic chiffon with shots of lame threading worked in. A really terrific piece that is well made and gorgeous on a real girl! Mint condition.

1930s Reversible Bias Cut Silk Gown

This thirties bias cut silk crepe gown is astonishing. It is completely cut on the bias so drapes and moves to fit you perfectly from the second you slip it over your head. I am sure the deep V was originally meant to be worn at the back as was the style then but it is so well constructed you can get away with wearing it either way - if you dare to have a plunge that deep in the front that is! The silk has a pretty texture to it and the colors are vibrant and bright against the off white back drop. Lots of those fab period details - teeny gathers at the shoulders and stunning inset panels on the skirt created by more gathers at the top of each. Truly a beauty and in fantastic condition!

1970s Two Color Nylon Plunge Jumpsuit

Super sexy and unusual nylon jumpsuit is an extraordinary dramatic piece! It flips from a pastel but still bright coral to a softer peach and is split half and half between the two colors and then another reversal of these colors on the other side! The legs are super wide so it looks at first glance to be a dress but it is definitely a jumpsuit! The waist has elastic so adjusts to fit. The bodice is crazy sexy - both the back and front have deep deep Vs. It's semi sheer but could be worn out with nude undergarments or clever styling. Truly a stunner and in fantastic condition!

1950s Tiered Lace Coral Dress

Absolutely wonderful 1950s tiered and ruffles lace dress in a peachy coral! This is a really special piece! The color is just breathtaking and the construction and attention to detail in forming all those wonderful tiers is just marvelous. Machine lace is mixed with taffeta ribboning - both gathered in ruffles and then stacked in tiers atop each other to make up that fabulous mid-calf to ankle length skirt. It is quite full and I have styled it with a light crinoline (not included) but it can easily be worn without one and still have fullness. It makes a wonderful whispering rustling sound when you move. The bodice is flat rows of the lace which is then edged with the ruffled taffeta ribbon. Tiny little straps hold it up though you could potentially tuck these and wear this as a strapless piece. The color is a bit deeper and more vibrant than what is showing - it is the epitome of feminine prettiness and a beautiful piece. Excellent condition.

1930s Cut Work Flower Summer Gown

I am in love with the dress! It's a lightweight semi sheer cotton or cotton silk mix fabric that has been cut and embroidered to create these stunningly beautiful flowers that cover the entire dress. The twenties and thirties saw some of the absolute best textiles that you can find and this gown illustrates a superb example. It is backed in the same color lining and the effect is light and airy and feminine. So romantic and whimsical it will make a wonderful dress for summer events or even a less formal wedding gown. The bodice is a simple halter with a pretty ruffle detail that circles the top of the bodice and carries down the front. Tiny straps and a gradually widening A-line skirt that goes to the floor finish this wonderful piece! A superb thirties gown and in excellent condition.

1950s Pink Embroidered Strapless Dress

Fantastic fifties dance dress is as feminine and romantic as you could wish for! It is done in a soft, light pink organza look chiffon that is completely embroidered with pink stitching. The skirt is wonderfully full and has built in layers of tulle - it was not shot with any additional crinolines. This gives it it's own fullness and it moves wonderfully. The bodice is the same fabric but with an additional tulle detail peeking over the sweetheart, strapless bust line. Such a romantic touch! The color is the perfect pastel pink. Really outstanding fifties full skirted dresses are getting harder and harder to find. In a sea of black examples, this refreshing and charming pink frock is a stand out!

1950s Lion Print Cotton Wiggle Sundress

This is a fantastic little dress. It is constructed from a printed cotton which has a batik feel to it. Upon close inspection you realize that there are actually little lions worked into the design! It is cut to follow every curve and the simple, yet defined cut allow full focus to go on the print of the dress and the girl filling it out! The skirt is long and lean with a kick pleat at the back so you can walk. The bodice is fitted and simple with a sexy V at the back. Gorgeous and a dress fit for a pin up girl! Excellent condition.

1970s Striped Chiffon Peach Maxi Dress

Beautiful chiffon dress in a dreamy peach mixed with tropical greens and pinks! This is two separate piece - an exterior dress made of that wonderful chiffon and an interior dress in a peach tone. It is not labeled but I would bet its a designer piece - its has that look and my gut tells me it was a high end piece. The fabric is very light and flows marvelously. The skirt cascades outwards from a soft pleating detail below the waist at just about the hip level. The bodice drapes softly and has a lively attached tie detail at the neck. Each sleeve ends in a buttoned four inch cuff! This allows the sleeves to billow softly above those cuffs and adds to the romantic and fairy tale quality this gown has. Really really pretty piece! Mint condition.

1960s Youth Guild Go Go Mini Dress

Does this fabulous little dress just absolutely define the sixties and the whole mini dress movement? Its label is from The Youth Guild - a group of young designers that banded together to produce their work - a very free thinking sixties idea! It is a simple shift dress made of a textured linen look mix in a deep blue. It is cut short - a true sixties mini mini - one can just imagine the go go boots that the fabulous girl who owned this wore with it! I love love love the checked and offset four rows of bright yellow fabric squares appliqued around the hem! They are the perfect mod touch! Excellent condition!

1970s Printed Floral Smocked Maxi Dress

Really unusual and fantastic smocked maxi dress form the seventies has an almost Ossie Clark like feel to it with that pretty floral print. I love the design - the entire top portion is smocked in elastic gathers so it just conforms to fit pretty much any figure or size as long as the shoulders and hips work. The sleeves have an almost Victorian feel to them with smocking at the elbow so they puff up above and below when worn. The skirt is super long and has lots of fabric. The crepe fabric holds the color well so the print is as vibrant as it was the day it was made. Super unusual, easy to wear - just slip it on add fabulous shoes and go!! Excellent condition.

1970s Slinky LBD Plunge Jersey Dress

This is a fantastic and sexy dress. Made of very light weight, slinky, draped jersey it seriously is a sexy piece! Its as Grecian Goddess as you can get! The bodice drapes out from gathered shoulders in two halter style panels on both the front and the back. So you get a plunge effect that is stitched just enough so that you are decent. The wasit is a gathered band of fabric and the skirt is caught up at the front so it fits and follows every curve. I love love love that ruffled detail that goes down the front - so feminine! You can actually switch this one around and wear it either way if you want that ruffled detail at the back. Feels marvelous and silky on and weighs next to nothing - really fabulous piece! Mint condition.

1950s Unusual Sequin Cocktail Dress

You see a lot of versions of the sequin LBD and some are atrocious, some are wonderful and then some are wonderful and unusual like this one is. The sequins are sewn onto a knit, which was not uncommon, but this knit has a large weave, giving it almost a raffia type look! The contrast between the glossy black sequins and the highly textured knit is wonderful. The other unusual thing about this one is that it is completely backed in lining so it has more structure then most sequin knit versions of this look. The cut is all femme fatale - a fitted lean pencil skirt is nipped in at the waist and both the front and back are in a deep V. A superb sequin and knit dress and in excellent condition.

The neck and arm are piped in a baby blue fabric and I love the big bold pocket on the front. It was found folded in its plastic bag as pictured and only removed to be measured and photoed. 1970s Grecian Crochet Neck Jersey Maxi

There is a certain type of poly jersey dress from the 1970s that was done the exact right way to offset the fabric choice. In fact they just would not be the same without being what they are. When the poly jersey is a good weight - not to light so it feels cheap and not too heavy that it feels frumpy, these can be glorious little pieces. And then when you make that jersey the perfect off-white, add flowing Grecian inspired panels, sexy deep side cuts and a high neckline in crochet work that allows skin to peek through. Well you have yourself a pretty fantastic dress! This dress is exactly that and more. The fit is tremendously easy - you can wear it if you are tiny and it will drape and if you are larger the exterior panels give you a long, lean silhouette. I love how the sides each have a little tie under the arm and that neckline - its the perfect balance between chic and flower child. Excellent condition!

1960s John Charles Print Maxi

These Victorian inspired cotton print dresses with their high necklines and ruffled bottoms where the height of fashion in the late sixties. Paired with high bouffant hair dos and kohl rimmed doe eyes, girls floated about in them. A modern girl would add chic sandals and a slung bag or over sized tote, but hopefully maintain the kohl rimmed eyes! Love the bibbed front with its lacework that goes high on the neck. The sleeves have a slightly puffed shoulder and lace trimmed ruffled cuff. The waist seam is set high so is easy t ear and flattering and I adore the wide ruffled hem! Easy to wear and wash cotton and in mint condition!

1960s Custom Thai Silk 4 Piece Pink Set

Thai silk pieces from the sixties are in my opinion, some of the best silk work ever done in the history of fashion. This set was made by Star of Siam and the label proudly states that is was hand tailored in Bangkok. The silk is absolutely amazing and the pink as vibrant as the day it was made. It literally looks to be unworn! It was hand woven and hand screened and is an absolute testament to the craftsmanship being employed in constructing silk garments during this time period. The super model length skirt wraps into place and flares out in a wide A-line form the waist. You have the option of wearing the little triangle topped halter that simply ties into place leaving your entire back bare, or throw on the button silk top/jacket for a more covered look. It still has its little tie that you can wear around the neck or waist! Stunningly beautiful! I love it! Amazing concept & a definitive look of the sixties and a beautiful set in mint, unworn condition! Item# D322

1960s Angel Sleeve Dress

Fantastic sixties David Silverman Angel sleeve gown in a semi sheer cotton mix that has been treated with a slight stiffening agent so it almost feels like a silk gazar. Little round circles of flowers adorn the blue fabric and it is cut in typical sixties flower child style - a high empire waist, billowing skirts with ruffled hem and most amazing - those ruffled and angel sleeves! Its masses of fabric but somehow work once worn. Silverman was perhaps not as well known as some of his other British contemporaries but this is a wonderful example of his work! Excellent condition.

1930s Silk Yarn & Netting Bias Cut Gown

Romantic and feminine thirties dress is a confection of startling choices of fabrication. The interior layer is bias cut cream silk crepe - a good weighted silk and so luxurious feeling against your skin. Attached to the bottom hem of this interior dress is two layers of a crisp white silk tulle netting. Over this inner layer is attached a body skimming netted overlay with a lace look that you realize upon inspection is actually made from an fine, almost yarn like string edged in embroidery thread to define each bit of the swirled design. This layer widens as it nears the hem and also has two crisp white layers of silk tulle attached, the tulle edging at the bottom falls slightly asymmetrical as the dress settles into place to follow your curve. A wonderful piece that is in excellent condition and so pretty!

1950s Scupltural Silk Dress & Capelet Set

This is certainly a high end piece and perhaps a top designer piece that has sadly lost it's label along its journey. It definitely has a Balenciaga, Dior-ish feel to it with its fine attention to details and quality and craftsmanship in the way it is constructed. The dress is gorgeous - a refined shift with a nipped in waist. I love the wide flat pleat detail that crosses over itself on the bodice and carries through the skirt. Even the small V that is formed at the neck seems to have a distinct, studied shape to it. Every line of this dress was carefully thought out and sculpted into place. A side zipper ensures that no line is broken. Most amazing is the little round shouldered short cape that is original to the dress. It sits charmingly on ones shoulders and is absolutely balanced and cut to perfection. The fabric is a fine, silk in jet black with a slight sheen. I can't go one enough about this piece - it really is extraordinary and I know I will regret listing it once it goes - the pictures do not come close to doing it justice. Immaculate condition.

1960s Silk Mermaid Gown

Drama drama drama is what this 1960s gown and jacket from the Californian Helga label. The husband wife duo were known for their evening wear and it is easy to see why when you see this gown! It is made to fit like a glove and is all bombshell curves. Strapless and boned it curves down past the hips like a glove and then flares out in the most dramatic mermaid skirt, stiffened so the shape is really emphasized! A little jacket in a matching floral textured silk has rounded edges and a simple silhouette. A real eye catcher and a wonderful piece!

1930s Bias Cut Silk Ruffle Gown

Beautiful 30s gown all cut on the bias and with a pretty floral print. The silk has a ribbed texture to it and the gown just slips on to wear. The front has a dramatic capelet attached that sits over the shoulders and follows that deep sexy V in the back. The back is absolutely amazing! It has a to the waist plunge and then sweeps to a full flared A line with a dramatic ruffled train that falls to a longer length then the front. I have shown it worn either way as it certainly could be turned around if you are brave enough. The finishes are all by hand and its a really striking and wonderful piece that weighs almost nothing and would definitely be on par with any runway piece of today. Excellent condition!

1960s Black Silk Brocade Maxi Coat

I know the pictures cannot come close to conveying the beauty of this coat. It is really extraordinary but being black, it is hard to capture just how wonderful it is. The cut is stunning - full length it has narrow shoulders and is fitted through the upper torso with long slim sleeves. It then flares from the waist ans sweeps to the ground with miles of fabric. The fabric itself is stunning - its has a self raised design that has an almost exotic skin quality to it - the raised bits have a slight sheen to them so you get a wonderful contrast. The inside is a marvel. Fully lined in thick, luxurious cream silk satin it is impeccably done. I love how the waist is slightly gathered. Its as beautiful as the outside. Finely made it is a true beauty! Excellent condition - it appears to have never been worn.

1980s Silk Print Day Dress with Sash

Judy says she was attracted to this dress for its loose and easy cut and lovely shot of color. I have to agree! A light weight silk allows for perfect drape and the easy to fit elasticized waist means you just slip it on, tie the sash belt and go! Instant chic! The silk is a good quality silk and nice and light. You can still wear this now with bare legs and then transition to boots or tights as the weather gets cooler. It is in mint condition and appears unworn. Really terrific and versatile piece!

1950s Cage Neck Black Wiggle Dress

A stunning and unusual design that is reminiscent of the recent Sandler dress I posted but this one is a versatile little black version! Cut in that classic late fifties, meant to show off your curves, this simple dress gets the bombshell treatment with that dramatic neckline! The fabric is a synthetic crepe so it wears well. It is cut with a lean skirt with just a touch of an A-line flare and subtle pleat details at either side of the waist. The waist cinches in and is emphasized with piping. The bodice is simple and sweet until you hit the shoulders and then its full pin up effect! The entire top of the neckline has a piped open cut work effect. Its a fantastic sexy look and gives this LBD a great vixen twist!

1960s Embroidered Flowers Cheongsam

A simple cut gets added pop through the use of a stunning panel of embroidery that swoops across the neck and then completely down one side to the hem! Brilliant colors are used to form the flowers and it is just an amazing design. The cut is that of a classic cheongsam with a fitted body, high neck and sexy slits on either side of the leg. The collar is cut so that once you snap up the row of snaps it sits up to frame your neckline and add that little extra bit of drama and flare! Fully lined in tissue silk it feels as great to wear as it does to look at. This was a strong 40s look and perfect for this fall's focus on that decade! Excellent condition.

1960s Gold & Pastel Foil Striped Dress

What an amazing dress! I was seriously bowled over with this one. The fabric is so unusual. It's a extremely lightweight silk organza or chiffon in a variety of pretty pastels - pinks, yellows, lavenders and tangerines that are all almost completely over laid in a thin gold "foil" effect. Its just a myriad of different stripes - all different thicknesses and colors. I love how the care was taken to make sure they line up along the seams and the cut is wonderful. The gold thread treatment gives it just enough shape so that that wide wide, exaggerated A-line really tries to retain its shape to you get this amazing fullness through the skirt without having to wear anything under it. It's almost sculptural in nature. It kills me that there is no label as this is surely a designer piece. Almost weightless it is a very unusual dress. Excellent condition.

1960s Fully Beaded & Sequin Pink Gown

These all beaded sixties pieces always bowl me over. They are always fully sequined and beaded and would have been done completely by hand. This one also has a fantastic design worked in and amongst the sequins that has been done in tube beads, glass seed beads and the center 3D look is actually bunched pink sequins sewn on so they stand on their edges! Amazing! The base is a pink knit that I suspect is part cashmere and the overall sequin work is done in the same hued pink sequins with a touch of iridescence to them. The neckline is a V and the back a slightly deeper V. The silhouette is simple with a fitted tee style top that flows in a straight line to the floor. It will be your curves that the knit will work around to create the shape to this one! Note that it appears red in the pictures - it is actually a deep cherry pink. A wonderful, statement piece in excellent condition!

1960s Crisp Thai Quilted Cotton Dress

Stunning, never worn crisp cotton print dress hand made by the Siam Boutique in Thailand. The print is stunning with a blended design made of red and orange on a black background. The collar is quilted and top stitched and sits over a little round keyhole. It is a waistless shift but has its original belt that allows you to cinch it in if you wish. The entire hem is circled with a wide band of quilted fabric - the stitched the fabric to follow the design This serves to weigh the hem and really help to hold the shape. It also adds and interesting dimension to the piece. In excellent condition, it appears to have never been worn!

1960s Pink & Gold Chiffon Harem Pant Set

Fabulous and slightly crazy outfit is made of a bright pink poly chiffon that has screened flowers and patches of gold thread woven into it. It is meant to be worn loose and full and though I have out it into the SML-MED category it could be worn by a smaller frame (the model is a tiny 2-4) and sits loose and draped or work on a figure that more closely matches the listed measurements. It's a simple design - the pants slip on with elastic at the waist and cuffs and the jacket is cut box like wit the same elastic cuffs and a simple snap closure. But that is where the simplicity stops - the look is pure over the top! (it's paired on the model with an Anita Quansah piece but that piece is sold - sorry girls!) Excellent condition!

1940s Black Silk Taffeta Halter Gown

Wonderful black silk taffeta halter gown brings visions of days when women swept into rooms. Made of a good weight black silk taffeta the gown makes that delicious rustling sound at the slightest movement. The skirt is quite full - there are yards and yards of fabric in it. You could if you wish, increase the appearance of volume and where a petticoat or crinoline under it. The bodice is sleek and fitted with a pretty flat pleat detail running across the bust. It has light boning through the front and the side zipper means the back is left unbroken. The simple halter strap slips over the neck or you can tuck it and wear it strapless! Fantastic early piece in easy to style basic black!

The dress is unlined and closes with a side painted zipper and the halter slips over the head and around the neck. There are some small flaws and it is priced accordingly. There is scuffing and faint fading here and there along the hem and some small pinholes. These are all minor and expected in a piece this age. It is stable and wearable.

1950s Larger Wool Crepe Day Dress

This is one of those fantastic basic little black dresses that never go out of style and that you will pull out to wear over and over. It's a great size with a nice shape that is very flattering. I love that is still has it's original belt so you can cinch it in if needed or adjust for more room. The bodice is simple and sweet with a square neckline and nice seaming details. The skirt flares out reminiscent of a 40s swing piece and I absolutely love the slant pockets that are cut to sit out form the skirt a bit and further emphasized by top stitching. Wonderful condition.

1940s Silk & Ice Blue Satin Inset Tie Gown

The forties are so on trend this season (hurrah!) and I have some fantastic pieces to share. This one is really exceptional. Its a masterpiece of draping! Made of a fluid heavier black silk mixed with an ice blue liquid silk satin inset along the front. Its deceptive size wise as it is cut to drape - my mannie is actually a small and it is not pinned on her just draped so it will fit a variety of figures. It slips on and the front satin is actually cut almost to the waist. This is done so you can fold it over and drape it into place. Attached ties wrap around to cinch or be ultra brave and leave them at the back and allow it to plunge! There is miles of fabric in the inset and I adore the icy blue color. This has a definite madame Gres feel to the draping and is a fabulous example of function blened with bias cut draping. Excellent condition.

1960s Fringe Leather Hippie Chic Dress

Insanely cool fringes deerskin original 1960s leather piece will make the most dramatic statement! Its hand made and whip-stitched and constructed form a ivory leather - smooth on the exterior and left raw on the interior. Its cut sheath style with the edging and neckline hand whip-stitched. From the hem and the shoulder the most dramatic and wonderful fringe hangs- a full 18" worth! A V neck on both front† and back pick up the V shape of the bottom fringe. It's tiny and has no openings - so the lucky girl that gets this as to be a 0 or a size 2 at most. This is a piece that the right girl will absolutely rock and be the centre of attention in! Excellent condition.

1950s Exotic Print Organza Dress & Wrap

This is not the type of piece you automatically think of when you think of the fifties but a small group of designers - like Tina Leser for example - were producing pieces made of exotic fabrics like this. Its very exotic and colorful and quite beautiful. The overlay is a silk organza in a deep burnt coral. It has gold and metallic blue threading running through it along with woven in stripes of red and coral. I love the shots of purple and greens too! It's strapless and the top skirting is very full. The organza has a nice bit of shape to it so the illusion of a very full skirt is kept. This comes with its original wrap. It has no label but if this did turn out to be a Tina Leser piece I would not be surprised! Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!

1940s Moss Crepe Halter Gown

Simple and chic this forties moss crepe gown is a superb example that even then simplicity could be striking. The gown is stretch crepe and cut on the bias so really work with your body once it is on. The top is simple with two straps and a neckline cut straight across. Dramatic jewel detail add a luxe detail! The bodice is cut almost flapper like with little definition through the waist and then it has two notched tiers around the upper hip. The skirt falls in one lean long swoosh and has a matching notch in the front that picks up the notch on the tiers! A wonderful, statement piece in excellent condition!

The moss crepe has some stretch and is cut on the bias so you can add a bit to the measurements above Unlined and closes at the side with a metal zipper and three snaps hidden under the top hems edging. Amazing rhinestone set jeweled detail at the front. Some of the threading has started to lighten along some of the seams but they still seem strong and wearable!

1940s Amazing Curved Button Check Suit

The look of this suit is so shockingly modern it is easy to see why current designers consistently look to the past for inspiration. This lightweight, fine wool fabric suit is left unlined and is very easy to wear. Sometimes suit of this era can be very restrictive and heavy but not this one! The fabric is a deep deep navy with a red double line check. The jacket has the perfect strong shoulder and nips in at the waist with a little flared hip peplum. Each sleeve is cuffed. The skirt is fitted through the waist and hips and then glides into a soft feminine A-line. The button detail is of course what absolutely make this set though - the jacket curves over to one side and back towards the other. Decorative buttons on the skirt match up exactly to where the ones on the jacket end. It is very Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen in feel but is the original thing! Amazing condition and truly fabulous!

1940s Check Dress w Cape

This is everything you want in a 1940s piece, it's a fitted, sexy and made of checked wool number that is out of this world! It has that perfect understated, yet extremely dramatic line that pieces in the forties seemed to walk with ease. The dress is a almost dolman sleeve with rounded and slightly paddd shoulders. It buttons with little navy early plastic buttons and then nips in dramatically in at the waist The side pockets are very full and exaggerated - in fact the maker ran the side metal zip under on pocket as to not interrupt the fullness of the line! The skirt is long and lean with just a hint of an A-line shape. This has one added extra element though - the original capelet complete with a edging of hanging black silk balls along the edge. The capelet snaps into place with hidden under the collar snaps! Labeled Tall Togs (love that name!) and it is in excellent condition!

1970s Metallic Knit Plunge Maxi Dress

I absolutely adore this dress and am already jealous of the girl that will be able to wear it. Its that ultimate seventies sexiness with its shot through with lurex thread knit fabric and sleek to the floor lines! The fabric is amazing - super light weight knit with silver and gold threading worked into it to make those highlighting bands of design. I love the wide ribbed waist band that tops the to the floor skirt with its metallic banding at the hem. The top is all sex and cleavage - a deep plunge and wide arm with a separate knit design worked into their edges. The entire dress has a subtle glimmer - pair these with Miu Miu glitter pumps and go drop some jaws! Excellent condition!

1950s Painted Mexican Set

Very unusual hand made and hand painted Mexican set that would have been made for the tourist market. All hand painted using metallic tinted paints and then hand applied with sequins in various metallic colors to pick up the painted colors used. Scenes depict sombrero bedecked men dancing with stunning girls in full pageantry. The skirt is short and quite full and it is important to note that it does not appear to have been shortened but that this is its original intended length! The top is a wild explosion of painted design and sequins. All on a cotton velvet. Very good condition and a really exceptional example of this genre. The word Jarana is written within one of the paintings on the skirt.

1960s Studded Halter Leather Jumpsuit

I doubt you could get more rock and roll sexy chic than this! If this was not made for someone in a band I would be astounded! The workman ship is crazy and it is a true piece of hippie history! As sexy as you can get this is a suede and leather flare bottomed, barely there haltered jumpsuit! The legs are long and lean and flare perfectly at the bottom. Curved patchwork in suede and buckskin crawl in large panels up the legs. I saw crawl because someone has studded the edging and then also created large spiders and scattered them over the piece! The waist cinches in and the back and sides are left completely bare with just two inverted triangles left to cover the bust. Its tiny - I got it onto the mannequin but could not zip it up at the back - you will have to imagine that it sits across the lower back when zipped! The girl that can make this work will leave a trail of jaws in her wake! Excellent condition!

1930s Ermine & Silk Velvet Evening Coat

Every once in a while you find a coat so exceptional it takes your breath away and this is one. The long sweeping lines, the inner cream silk lining that flashes that contrast of color when you move. And of course that amazing touch of ermine fur at the collar and down each sleeve! You do see these with ermine collars but this is the first I have seen with sleeves like this. They are each a bell sleeve - widening as the come to the cuff and then looping under to the inner lining so they puff out at each wrist. The collar is also extraordinary - it is set almost off shoulder and crosses over itself. It closes with huge jeweled buttons offset as was the flapper fashion. The inside is in excellent condition with no shattering. Really a killer piece and strong and wearable for years to come! Extraordinary!

There is a hidden inside pocket with ruffles edge along one seam inside. The fur is in excellent condition.

1950s Sublime Lace & Silk Navy Dress

This is one of those simple little dresses that you end up wearing whenever you need a dress that has pretty details and makes a statement but will work for just about any occasion except full on evening glamour! Made of a good weighted navy silk it feels really exceptional when on. The silk drapes wonderfully and falls well. The skirt is long and lean, the waist nips in and the entire shoulder area is made of a stunning lace. The lace is is left so all the edges that are next to your skin have little filaments and follow the design of the lace. Your upper bodice and shoulders peek through so prettily! A wonderful piece and in excellent condition.

1950s Pretty Raw Silk Black Day Dress

Stunning light weight silk day dress with lots of texture to the silk to create an extra bit of glamour. This is also a nice wearable size and will be extremely flattering on! The dress does up at the front with those silk covered buttons. The skirt is long and lean and is topped by a loose fitting top with a pretty notched front and easy to wear below the elbows, slightly wider sleeve. I love that the waist has a bit of a gathered fabric detail and that pretty silk fabric rose sits in the middle to highlight it - it also cleverly conceals any bits and curves you don't want to highlight! Excellent condition and a really terrific piece!

1970s Supermodel Length Metallic Maxi

This is one of those little jewels from the seventies that when you see on the girl that can carry it off - well your jaw drops! Made of a metallic blue light weight knit this dress is made to act like a second fabulous, glittering skin (it has more of an electric blue undertone that does not come across in the pics - really amazing!). It skims over your curves and hugs you in all the right places. It is long, long long so be prepared to wear your highest stacked heels if you are not supermodel tall! (it does shrink up a little - the knit is done on a bias so adjusts to your curves) I love the pattern worked into the knit at the top and bottom hem. The original tie belt is still with it and it is in perfect condition. Really one of my favorites pieces and in excellent condition.
