Once in a while a dress comes along that just perfectly sums up an era. You just know that the girl who wore this amazing little number was a chic and fabulous hostess and threw parties that were FUN. Made of a crepe fabric that has been dyed a bright, almost neon chartreuse - that crazy color that is smack between lime and yellow. It is really two layers - a fitted inner dress that if fitted and hugs your curves form shoulder to the floor and then over and attached to that at the shoulders are a panel on both the front and back. Each of these panels are lined in a shockingly bright pink! The color combination is just amazing!! I Love how the top panels curve almost sculptural at the sides - it has a bit of a Cardin feel to it. The neck is beaded with clear beads with pink rhinestones worked amongst those. It is a Junior Vogue Original label and very well made and quite fabulous. Excellent condition.
Bust: 19" flat across from side seam to side seam the inside dress
Waist: 14" flat across from side seam to side seam the inside dress
Hips: 19" flat across from side seam to side seam the inside dress
Length: 57" from neck to hem
The dress is fully lined with a light lime silky rayon the top layer is of course lined with a hot pink crepe as shown. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the back of the collar. . There is a very light bit of discoloration along the hem of the front top layer - its like a speckling of faint spots. When on it is really not apparent but is mentioned for accuracy. - I do not feel that they deter form the excellent rating given - the photo actually looks worse then it is in person! The very crease of the hem on the inside has a small amount as well. Priced accordingly

We are huge Gaultier fans and are in love with this amazing early JPG outfit! It has that classic fitted nineties silhouette with a stretch cotton turtle neck tee top paired with a shiny satin skirt that is almost scandalously short! It immediately makes me think of the era of the super model and one can easily picture Linda, Naomi or Cindy wearing this for Vogue! The entire outfit is covered with a vivid comic strip print. I cannot promise you that you won't be ask to stop so people can read it - you have been warned! The top zips at the neck and the JPG logo is heat applied to the back. It fits lean to the body. The skirt has custom zip pulls on all the big chunky brass zippers and flat knife pleats at the front. It is am amazing set and so rare! Excellent condition!

This dress weighs mere ounces and is stunningly beautiful in its simplicity and elegance. I think you could literally slip this through a scarf ring it is so light weight and yet somehow it manages to have structure to it! The skirt is cut beautiful lean and stops just at the knee. It is actually three full layers of silk chiffon. Two inner layers to act as a slip and the top layer that has a chevron pattern detailing that has silk fringing. The waist nips in in a classic and refined way and the top is a simple sleeveless shell with a silk layer of chiffon over the shoulders. Stunning! Excellent condition and well made!

Everything you look for in a Wainwright piece! It is the ultimate seventies goddess, sexy draped fluid jersey with semi-sheer chiffon insets. It almost caftan like in its cut and will work on a variety of sizes. It slips over the head and settles perfectly into place with a very low V front neckline that has an almost cowled effect. This skims over the body with it's slinky jersey so the movement and drape it creates is killer. Gold lame thread ribbon is used to highlight the shoulders and V front. This ribbon is picked up again on each cuff. You can wear this loose or belt it and make it super short even! The styling possibilities are endless. I love the semi transparent shoulders that add that little subtle sexiness. It is just beautiful and a rarity! Excellent condition

Hips: 18" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 15.5" from top of bust to waist
Skirt: 27" from waist to hem
Unlined made of a fluid black jersey rayon with semi-sheer inset panels. It slips over the head to wear. I was honestly on the fence on whether to out that plunge on the back or front but I thick this is how it was meant - or it was deliberately meant to be able to be worn either way which is perhaps the more logical answer!

This is an amazing printed 1970s dress by Maurice, who was a Pucci & Leonard contemporary in the seventies. Maurice used the same type of print work in his pieces, and this maxi dress has the added benefit of that perfect, sexy, easy to wear kimono inspired silhouette! The stark contrast of the black and yellow are fantastic and dramatic. The bodice appears to wrap and plunge with to the elbow, wide sleeves. The waist nips in and has a wide contrasting print banding. That same wrapped effect is given to the skirt and it flows to the floor in a cascade of print. The style is versatile too - style it for day with flats or paired with heels for evening events. It is made from a light wight fluid, poly jersey fabric that will work year-round and travels extraordinarily well. I love it. Excellent condition.

This might be my favorite Jean Varon I have ever listed and I am still tempted to whisk it back to my archives for myself! I recently sold a red and black version of this that was obviously done the same year as both have the same bold graphics! It is really one of the best prints I have had from him and it is just as dynamic on the yellow and black if not more so. A billowing full skirt is set under a panel of ruched and elastic banding at the bust. The dramatic print really highlights the loose lines of the piece - you get the effect of softness and edgy at the same time. I love the ruffle around the top of the bust - it is a much better finish then just a straight edge would have been. There are skinny straps made of the same slinky nylon fabric - you can wear these tucked in if you wish and it instantly makes the dress strapless. The very bottom of the hem has a quirky finish of a striped band. Truly a find and in excellent condition.
Bandeau: 12.5: unstretched flat across from side seam to side seam. Will stretch to accommodate another 5 or 6 inches
Natural waist: open
Hips: open
Straps: 6" from shoulder to top of the ruffle
Bodice: 6" from top of ruffle to empire waist

Truly beautiful and exceptional piece designed by Karen Stark for Harvey Berin. It is impeccably constructed and cut to follow a girl's curves but in a fresh and innocent kind of way. The bodice is a sleek and simple expanse of silk satin that is cut and seamed to form a wasp waist silhouette The neckline is a simple scoop in both the front and back. I love the little extra pleat detail that sits on each cap sleeve. The waist is very fitted and a sweet band circles the wearer and ends in a darling bow at the front. Soft pleats gently sit under the vertical seaming and allow for the fullness of the skirt. A band circles the hem and is caught up in little scoops with flats bows sitting at intervals all around the hem. It is darling and the inside is constructed as well as the outside is beautiful. Excellent condition!

Lined through the bodice with a matching color silk organza and the skirt is lined with a cotton muslin in the same color. It closes with a hand set back painted metal zipper. I chose not to photo it with a crinoline under but you could add a light crinoline and get a very full round shape. Note that is does zip all the way up - it is just too small on my mannequin. The color is perhaps a touch deeper and richer in person then how it photographed!

Absolutely gorgeous 1950s dress with superb detailing! The contrast and visual slimming effect from the play between that fitted black pencil skirt and the stunning bodice treatment is just wonderful. The skirt is cut to follow a girls curves and snugly runs over the hip and into a cinched waistline. I love the panel of fabric that runs down the back skirt like a sexy little flat tail. The bodice is amazing - three layers of silk satin in a soft pink, a deep hot pink and a off-white sit in wide vertical panels. The arms seem to flow out from under that top draped swatch of fabric and the back dips slightly! A fabulous example of Copeland's work! It is a beautiful, classic dress, that is wonderfully made and in excellent condition.

The very upper bodice is backed in a cream silk and the body and skirt are unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and there are hook & eye to close the satin bodice part over that. There is a very light yellowish mark on the cream overlay as photoed. You could have this taken up and it would disappear. It is not crazy noticeable so has been left as original and priced to take the cost of this small alteration by the new owner into account. It can absolutely be worn as is still!

A girl can never go wrong with Pucci and this is a fabulous little lingerie set by Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers. Great late seventies, early eighties Lapidus dress made of a scarf weight silk and has an easy to wear, loose cut. His pieces always seem to have that rich girl feel to them and you can see some chic girl of the past pairing this with camel toned accessories and just slipping it on. The sexiness is in the fabric - it is so lightweight that even though it is cut loose, when you mo it will move with you and skim across your shape giving glimpses of the body underneath. You could also cinch in the waist for more shape! The front buttons at the neck with tiny fabric covered buttons that are picked up on each cuff. A bit of a slit on either side of the leg adds to the subtle sexiness the dress has. The print is subtle yet striking. A great piece that will be amazing to style - endless possibilities! A gorgeous goddess feel, draped chiffon maxi dress that drapes fantastically and has lots of light as a feather fabric in it! It makes this amazing dress be both flattering and dramatic! A orange based red chiffon drapes perfectly over an inner built in dress giving it a wonderfully romantic and exotic feel. The fabric on the exterior has a light cross check pattern worked into it and gives the effect of depth and texture This adds a subtle interest to the dress that is really pretty in person. The sleeves are full and gather in at each wrist with an elastic cuff and the skirt flows to the ground in a swath of lightness. I love the double row if silk satin ribbon that circles the hem. It is a pretty and flattering touch. Its extremely flattering, easy to wear and high on drama. Excellent condition!

This gown is insanely gorgeous and in person it is even more so. The color was very hard to photo - it has a definite pink undertone and is that magical color that lands squarely between red and pink and is partly dependent on the light in deciding. It makes me thing of cherry Popsicles - because of the layers of silk there is that same depth and translucent perception while being opaque. The only tag is from the exclusive Tribout Shop that was found in the John Wanamaker department store based in Philadelphia. This boutique within the shop sold heavy hitting lines like Madame Gres, Ben Reig, Mainbocher, Bill Blass - the list goes on and on. Maddening, this gown has no other label besides that one,† and yet it has all the hallmarks of a very expensive, custom, high end couture piece. The work and finishes are hand done and the design and fabric are of the best possible quality. Three tiny silk straps suspend the gown from each shoulder, The bodice is shaped and gathered by hand with a nod to the Grecian Goddess. The inner silk chiffon and silk skirt hugs the body while the top chiffon layer has yards and yards of silk that flow from the waist and into an expansive skirt with a series of trumpet pleats. It is heartbreaking and truly beautiful! Excellent condition

An amazing piece of fashion history this 1960s Courreges coat would have been a technical marvel at the time. All the fabric used would have been cutting edge. The exterior is a nylon, lightweight fabric in a deep brown. Inside is a faux sheepskin shearling that is used for both additional warmth and as a design element and color contrast. The zippers are custom and absolutely huge and fabulous! It zippers at the front and has a hood that you can wear up or down. I love the four pockets on the front and how they are placed to emphasize the cut of the coat. The Courreges logo sits on the chest so there can be no doubt of its origins when worn! Excellent, museum quality condition! Item # C182
A hard to find and amazing vividly striped Missoni dress perfectly showcases why this brand has had such staying power. Cut like a extra, extra long T-shirt done in their proprietary knit it is fabulous when on. The top is purposely cut to feel oversized - right down tot eh extra large pocket on the front breast. Even the sleeves are a little extra long and extra wide. It skims into a sleek column that will stretch to follow your curves from there. It comes with its original extra long knit sash that is cut along its weave to naturally twist. This gives it a great stripe on stripe play when wrapped around the body. It is fabulous condition and all the colors are as crisp and bright as when they where first done! So beautiful, it is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history and in excellent condition.

Stephen Burrows is one of my favorite designers and is also in the soon to be released film on the battle of Versailles where he participated as one of the five chosen American designers. His is best known for his fluid jersey dresses that draped onto the body and wrapped and tied. The lettuce hem - of which this dress has in abundance - is his signature finish. Here he has edged this stunning off-white dress with a red stitch to create that detail! Two layers of a fluid jersey sit atop each other to make this gorgeous dress. This also gives the dress more movement and a sense of flow then a single layer would have done! The halter neck slips over the head and the whole front wraps over itself to form the bust and skirt. It ties with attached ties and all that ruffled edging settles beautifully into place. Very sexy and sophisticated. Great condition
Bust: no defined side seams but prob not suitable for more than a B cup
Waist: 13" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: 16-18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam and wraps to close so adjustable up or down from that an inch or two

The dress is fully lined in a second layer of the same synthetic jersey. It wraps and ties to close with additional snaps and hook & eye. It is a touch too small for my mannequin so will sit slightly more closed along the front on the proper sized girl. There is a small repair and faint water spot along the front. It can be hidden under the belt and worn as is and is too fabulous and collectible so is presented as is with a greatly adjusted price point. Note that the color looks yellowish but this is a trick of the light - it is a true off-white in person.

An unbelievable and amazing 1970s Karl Lagerfeld for Chloe silk dress. The color of the silk is absolutely gorgeous - it is a burnt orange salmon - perhaps a touch richer in hue in person then how it photoed. The silk is very fine and of scarf weight so feels like you are wearing a wisp of air. It is a very simple dress that flows from the shoulder and gently widens as it nears the hem. Long sleeves each end in cuffs with the tiniest most precious buttons I have ever seen on a modern garment! The pleat work is the star of this piece! Beautiful flat pleats circle the neckline and adorn each arm near the cuffs. It is a not so subtle detail that really feels like a Karl way of adorning a dress without any true adornments. Excellent condition

Unlined and made of a very fine, high grade scarf weight silk. It closes with a series of buttons on the back of the neck and each cuff has two tiny buttons to close. There is a very faint, small spot on the back of one cuff near the edge. It does not detract from the dress at all.

This late 1960s, early 1970s caftan feeling dress by Jean Varon has the most dramatic and bold sleeves I have ever seen on a dress! With those sleeves and that amazingly low and sexy plunge front you cant help but feel fabulous in this one! The bodice is sleek and simple with a V that goes right to the high empire waist. The waist is emphasized with a pretty grosgrain ribbon. The skirt is quite full over it's inner lining and has a soft volume to it that is very flattering. The touch of transparency to the silk voile exterior fabric adds to the depth of the amazing pattern! The sleeves are just spectacular - they are fairly fitted to just about the elbow and then flare out in a a tremendous amount of fabric cut at different angles and lengths for an handkerchief hem feel! Drop dead gorgeous and in excellent condition.

Very early and rare Edith Small dress that I† would guess is from some of her very early years - mid to late 1940s. It has a bit of extra interest in that is also has a Western Costume Company tag so the possibility of it having appeared on film at some point are very high! If we only knew on who! The dress is wonderfully made and a testament to her skills as a dressmaker. Edith Small was perhaps not as well known as some of her contemporaries of the day but she produced well made pieces and used high end fabrics and liked to work in difficult fabrics. Like the fine silk netting and lace that this is made of! The skirt is constructed from a bias cut, fine woven silk crepe and has a faux sarong look with one side swept up into a knot. The waist is dropped and the illusion is that the front plunges almost to the waist. This is done cleverly by a nude backing behind the silk crepe. Over both those layers is a layer of fine silk net with tiny dots worked into the fabric. The neckline is discreetly beaded and each shoulder has a lattice work pattern in gold metallic thread. Very sexy in a film noir femme fatale kind of way! Excellent condition

Bodice: 19" from shoulder to dropped waist
Skirt: 32" from dropped waist to hem
The top is backed in a nude netting and the skirt is unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. There is one tiny break in the netting at the back that I had a stitch out in to stabilize. Also the chiffon under the metallic detail on the shoulders is shattering and almost gone on one side. I have left it as original - it could be removed altogether to let the top of the shoulder peek through the metallic lattice work there or replaced - an easy job. Very minor and these do not detract.

Absolutely gorgeous 1950s dress with superb detailing and construction! From designer Nathon Strong it is a classic fifties cocktail or dinner dress and has that subtle sexiness that pieces from this time are renowned for. The front is all chic elegance - the skirt is fitted and to just below the knee. A wide silk hand gathered band cinches in the waist. The top is a lady like lace with rounded shoulders and to the elbow sleeves. Under that is a full bodice with tiny straps. The back is just delicious with a low, skin baring back and that waist band is swept up and gathered into a large bow that sits in the small of the back! Lovely lines, well made and a stunning details - all add up to† really wonderful example of how fabulous dresses were from this era! It is a beautiful, classic dress, that is wonderfully made and in excellent condition.

A beautiful silk crepe jacket that you can also wear as a dress if layered over and slip or under-layer. The fabric design is classic Hanae Mori, with a hint of exoticism and a pop of pink. It is cut like a loose fitting duster through the body and I love the attached tie at the neckline. - you can leave it unbuttoned and just flip the ties over each other for that sexy seventies nonchalance. Absolutely gorgeous Malcolm Starr dress with superb detailing. Since selling it I have been able to document it to 1970 with a reference photo from Vogue. The exterior is made of an unusual soft knit jersey that has the feel of an expensive T-shirt fabric. This would have been cutting edge to make a dress out of this when this was made! That, combined with the gold ribbon detailing that highlights the cut of the bodice and shoulders really make for a wonderful dress. The front is deeply plunged and angles down into an empire waistline. This plunge is edged with a gold ribbon for a bit of glitz. Each sleeve is kept very simple. The skirt is quite full and flows out from the high waistline baby doll style. An attached tie in the same fabric wraps around the waist. Lovely lines, well made and a stunning details - all add up to really wonderful dress - classic, wonderfully made and in excellent condition.
Fully lined in a deep blue silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper.I think the front was opened a bit but I love it that plunged so left it - it would be easy to tack together if you wanted a more modest look

One of the basic tenants that George Stavropoulos stood by in his design work was to let the cut and fabric take centre stage. Rarely do you find a ton of embellishment on one of his pieces. He was the favorite of the jet set and Hollywood in his day - clients included Elizabeth Taylor and my favorite opera singer - the great Maria Callas. It is rare to find a day dress from his as he specialized in evening pieces. I think this makes this even more special since it was more then likely a custom piece made specifically for a favored client. The cut is quintessentially seventies with that nod to the 1940s in its cut, but with a modern feel. High capped shoulders and sleeves that narrow as they go to the wrist. A scooped neck and subtle draping on the skirt perfectly offset the small floral pattern screened onto the silk! It is extremely well made and in excellent, seemingly unworn condition condition.

The bead work is so gorgeous on this dress! The entire neckline and front is heavily beaded and that stunning bead work continues all around the waistline as well. The base fabric is a off-white silk blend and the beads themselves a combination of gold and a true white. Set so that they actually stack atop on another the entire beaded detailing has a fabulous 3D effect. I love how the pattern is almost jewel like in feel - like a huge elaborate necklace that runs down the front and ends in a large medallion pendant! It has photoed a tad yellowish but it a true cream silk - far creamier then the photos show. They really do not do the piece justice! It's an easy fit and if you wanted you could probably move the band up to make it shorter and more of a mini. Top notch quality and the chic, luxe sixties feel that Malcolm Starr pieces can do so well. Excellent condition.

This is an unusual and rare set by Giorgio Sant'Angelo. It is made of a poly cotton mix fabric which at the time would have been cutting edge and the height of wash and wear bohemian cool. The pants are an elastic waist and a peg leg cut that narrows as it nears the hem. The jacket is amazing with what looks to be hand embroidery work set in pretty patterns over its entirety. Each cuff is rounded and balloon shaped and adorned with darling little multi color velvet ribbons that tie as they meet each other. This same ribbon highlights the neck and back and ties at the front. The back is smocked so amazingly full. I almost get the feel that this was a made to order set for perhaps a newly pregnant f of the designer. It seems that kind of thing! Still hippie chic and cool but practical at the same time and the cut and elastic would have allowed a bit of room to grow. Amazing set, very rare, unusual and in excellent condition!

Great late seventies, early eighties Oleg Cassini dress made of a scarf weight black silk chiffon that is backed in an equally light weight black tissue silk. Both layers are completely bias but so it is very easy to wear and feels amazing on. His pieces always seem to have that rich girl feel to them and this one has that added bit of glitz with the extensive head to toe bead and sequin work. The sexiness is in the fabric - it is so lightweight that even though it is cut loose, when you move it will move with you and skim across your shape giving glimpses of the body underneath. That combined with the glossy black of the beads and sequins is amazing! Panels are set along the skirt that are even more dramatically sequined - very reminiscent of the flapper era and these really move when you do. The back is almost entirely open! A great piece that will be amazing to style - endless possibilities! Excellent condition

Absolutely gorgeous Pucci dress with a superb fall hued color palette! Made of his signature lightweight silk jersey that was then custom screened with his infamous designs. Skinny sleeves and a fitted bodice top a swingy skirt, This is a classic Pucci silhouette and is instantly recognizable! I love the band at the waist that gives it a bit of visual definition but still keeps the easy to wear cut. The yellows and tangerines pop against each other and are anchored by the black in the print. The entire dress weighs ounces and is wonderfully bright and happy in feel as all great Pucci's are! Excellent condition.

This is the twin of a dress I have had before and I was so pleased to have it again as it is absolutely beautiful! It is cut to follow and sculpt the bodice with beautiful curved seaming and a high panel around the waist that emphasises both the waist and the bust line. The skirt is quite full and lovely even without a crinoline as shown! The fairly simple cut is completely off-set by the spectacular fabric. It is a rich metallic brocade with a garden of flowers and butterflies flitting across its surface. Each of the flowers has a slight puff appearance and its not until you look underneath that you realize that those blue flowers are each backed with extra fabric so they have a slight "lift" effect from the front. The colors are rich and true and the added outline with gold thread give it a bit of extra pop. Hidden pockets tucked under a soft fold on each side of the skirt are the perfect finish! A stunning piece. Excellent condition!
Bust: 17î flat across from side seam to side seam

Unlined but with ribbon finished inside seaming and a silk satin wide panel of fabric set around the inside neck, upper back and arms for comfort. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. I chose not to photo it with a crinoline under but you could add a light crinoline and get a very full round shape. The blue is bluer and the greener a less olive in person then how it photographed! The zipper of course closes completely on the proper size girl

Much ado has been made in recent years about the advent of wearing day cut pieces that are embellished with evening detailing or in evening fabric. However, Halston did this in the mid and late 1970s to great aplomb and this dress is an amazing example of that! It is cut like a simple shirt dress - it snaps to close along the front and has a simple tie belt. It is however, completely covered with tightly sewn rows of iridescent sequins! That effect against the pale pale pink silk is just amazing!! You can style this in infinite amount of ways - add a more casual touch to make it work for a late afternoon unexpected look, or go full on evening with heels and subtle and chic jewels. The cut and construction are what one would expect from one of the most eminent American designers and everything about it is perfect - the cut , the line, the fabric - everything! Excellent condition!

Fully lined in a pale pink tissue silk. It closes at the front with fabric covered hidden hand set snaps. There is perhaps some small areas of missing sequins but they can easily be replaced by stealing some from under the hems. It presents as perfect due to the thousands on the fabric and iridescent quality. The tie belt is a shade of pale lavender and original to the dress. It is also covered in sequins.

I have had a shorter version of this exact dress and I think i may love the full length version even more! It is a truly amazing dress in a silk twill that has been hand screened with the most incredible, vivid floral pattern! The colors are so bright and true with remarkable clarity and depth! The bodice is kept quite simple with a slight scoop front and a low scoop back for a bit of sexiness. The sleeves are just incredible - great billowing poufs that are set high into the shoulder. Each ends in a long tight cuff that is about 7 inches long! An ink black & rich red velvet striped circles the waist and again around the hem. I love this contrast of fabrics! The skirt is quite full and has pleated gathers at the waist and low slung hidden side pockets. It is a very eye-catching and beautiful fabric and the silhouette is flattering and easy to wear. Excellent condition!

In the tradition of the great American designers the talented Doo Ri has created an easy to wear and yet highly dramatic gown in a soft, luxury T-short weight jersey. There is literally yards and yard of fabric in this stunning gown and it is cut super model length. It feels worthy of a red carpet and yet when on it is like wearing an elaborate racer back T-Shirt dress. This mix between the comfort of the modern fabric and the lines and drama of a full gown is amazing. A matching shrug with skinny sleeves can be wrapped and ties as wished. The front plunges to balance the fullness of the skirt and then back is equally bare. Never worn and still has it's original $1950 price tag! Excellent condition

An absolutely stunning set by Bill Blass is the epitome of refined lady like elegance. Both pieces are constructed from a very fine, almost weightless black lace, with the lace used for jacket feeling slightly starched so it has a touch of structure to it. The dress is a sublimely simple shift with the lace layered over two inner layers of feather like nude silk chiffon. It has the feel of a fine antique Chantilly and feels to be of the highest quality. The jacket has a beautiful ruffled collar and each sleeve ends in the same ruffle. I love how together they feel quite refined but once you remove the jacket it has a subtle sexuality to it. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition

When Junya debuted this collection the fashion world did a collective gasp, he used an innovative way of ruching and buckles that allowed the pieces to be adjustable while invoking a Victorian feel. Style.com said of the collection:
Junya Watanabe's show conjured a vision of innocent 18th-century milkmaids who had parachuted into a field of summer flowers. The girls seemed to have floated down from the sky under huge, airy umbrella hats, wearing drifty, white, flower-dotted prints suspended on webbing tape. Yes, webbing: in an original twist on this season's ubiquitous combat trend, Watanabe made it look dreamily pretty.....He also, thoughtfully, equipped his bucolic regiment with matching backpacks, some fused into the girls' garments.
This skirt and top was shown on the runway in all white but I find this black and white version infinitely more dramatic and wearable. Buckles adorn the top - even straight across the bust-line. The cuffs are a double flap as is the flap where it buttons at the front. The back is particularly fabulous and you can extend the length quite low or to a crop version by adjusting the ruching. Th skirt is a masterpiece. Th attached back hip bag is a modern twist on the Victorian bustle and again the shape and lengths can be played with depending on where you choose to expand or contract the ruching. It is amazing, an important runway piece and any Junya fan will be ecstatic to see this available as very few were produced. Excellent, museum quality.

One of the best Pucci dresses i have ever had hands down! It is an amazing soft baby pink silk jersey - that perfect silk knit that is a Pucci signature! The style is amazing with a V cut front and back and that insanely fabulous asymmetrical skirt! Both sides of the skirt are cut with a scarf like point that hangs slightly to the side. One leg gets extra attention and the cut allows for a little more flash of skin! A wide banding at the waist has classic Pucci print and I love the swirling bands that fly up the skirt towards the waist! With a simple color palette that perfectly compliments the beautiful cut, this is an exceptional Pucci! Excellent condition.

I highly suspect that this is an early Bill Blass design. It has that feel and look of his early work. He joined the maurice label in 1958 and there was a short time where the label was still being produced without his name on it. I beleiev that this is from that time. In any case it is a startingly beautiul dress that is exquisitely constrcuted and unusual as well . It retains only its Maurice Retner Original label and is made of a beautiful rich silk satin that has been custom screened with a blue floral print that has a soft romantic feel. Deep olive leaves are mixed into the pattern and the effect against the black is beautiful. The neckline is cut square with capped high sleeves and a simple fitted bodice. The skirt is actually quite fitted but has a swagged and draped overlay that are deceptive to the underlying shape. From a flat discreet bow at one side swaths of fabric drape down each side of the skirt to create the illusion of fullness. In the back this is gathered at the center beck hem in a seond bow. It is refined glamour mixed with the touch of the avant garde and very beautiful!† Excellent condition!

This is an iconic design from Ossie Clark that you can find in a couple of color ways - I had had a near twin to this in the past but I think this one is in even better condition! I love the subtle sexiness of the suit - the "waved" front allows for a peek of skin to come through if you wish to wear it with nothing underneath. The pants have that amazing notched front to the their wide flared cut so when a girl walks you get an flash of shoe and ankle - a bit of a play on the Victorian era and a classic Ossie way bringing in an element of the past with a genius twist to make it timeless. The pants are flat fronted and curve and skim over the hip till the flare at the bottom. The jacket is cut skinny and sexy with a bit of a flare at the hip to balance the pant. Classic Ossie at his best and an iconic design! Excellent condition!

Leona Lewis looked beautiful when she wore the twin of this dress to the 2010 Elle Style awards and my client remembers seeing Iman in it on the cover of a magazine but I have been unable to hunt that photo down. The dress is classic McQueen and is from the pre-fall collection of 2009. These looks led to the F/W 2009 collection - "The Horn of Plenty", subtitled "Everything but the Kitchen Sink". The Alexander McQueen website said of that collection:
"It is the play between a profound respect for and the subversion of the haute couture tradition.....The clothes themselves draw on haute couture signatures....All in all, this is power-dressing at its most elaborate and extreme."
You can see in this piece how he was working towards that. The cut through the body is perfectly fitted and shaped, every seam and stitch properly placed to highlight a woman's body without being crass. And then the keyhole at the neck gives it a touch of sexuality and the sleeves are a nod to the excess and extreme silhouette of couture. It is classic McQueen and profoundly beautiful, strict, high end and subtle all at the same time. The fabric is a slightly textured, fine fleece wool. The seam work is all done on the curve and the dress is extraordinarily well made. The original retail was well over $3000 and this piece will only increase further in value and sentiment being that it is a piece that pre-dates McQueen's untimely death. Excellent condition!

My client is sure this is from around 2005 and it looks like his earlier pieces look. It is very simple but with lots of drama! To layers of a stretch, fluid jersey in a deep ink black sit atop each other. The top layer is covered in scattered paillettes in two sizes and each and every one of those sequins are hand stitched into place. The neckline is high and it has a racer back, tank styled cut with deeply inset arms that allow lots of the back to be exposed when on. The skirt widens to an A-line as it nears the hem and the fabric allows the dress o skim your curves and yet still hug the body when you move. A gorgeous and early Alexander McQueen piece. This is a fantastic take on a classic 1940s wiggle dress with lots of bombshell curves built into it! The fabric is a navy rayon with a classic white dot print. I love the illusion of a proper wrapped and draped hip swag at one hip - nothing creates a vixen like silhouette then those curved lines! Sometimes having black pieces on the site makes me nutty because it is so hard to convey the amazing details properly when trying to photo them. This stunning dress by James Galanos definitely falls into that category because as great as it may look in the photos the reality is far far greater! It is extraordinarily well made and has a very fashion forward feel to it. It literally feels like it could have came off the runways of today. Wide simple straps curve over the shoulder almost jumper style and are secured tot he front with large rhinestone encrusted square buttons. Under these the bodice is simple and skims over the waist. The skirt is deceptive when you stand still as it appears somewhat lean and sleek, however there are triangular insets all around that give it an immense amount of volume and create maximum drama when you move! Wear it as shown or layer something under it or over it - it really has endless styling possibilities! Excellent, appears unworn condition!

The colors in this gown are amazing - they absolutely pop against the cream background and are vivid and true. That combined with the gold metallic threads that run top tp bottom make it an instant stand out! The photos do not quite capture the subtle gold gleam of the dress. The exterior layer is a silk organza that is completely woven through with the gold! I love Malcolm Starr pieces and have many in my archives and have already sold as equally a number but this is the first time I have seen a spiral cut bias dress! The design is amazing - even the zipper is set along the curve of the back seam! A low V sits on both the back and front and then the fabric drapes and warps around your every curve! The back has a touch ore fabric through the lower skirts so gives a beautiful refined slight train effect. If you even remotely love it in† the photos you will be floored in person - it is better! Every once in a while in this business you get something that is truly magical. This early 1950s set is just that! I have never seen a better piece by Chapman then this set and I have seen a lot of her designs! This is an early 1950s piece and you can see the heavy Dior New Look influence on it. The coat is cut extremely similar to the couture 1954 Dior I recently sold to a private collector. And the dress is as exquisitely made as some of the couture dress from this time period I have had. Before I even begin to delve into the cut I must talk about the fabric. It s a cut velvet that hose upper most layer has been painted in a deep olive! The base is a pale cream with a green tinge and it has a subtle color changing hue to it! It literally changes tone as you move it! I honestly have never seen a more amazing an unusual fabric in my entire time of dealing in vintage! It is truly special! The coat is a loose cut, voluminous draped affair constructed entirely of that painted and cut velvet and then lined in an olive silk to match the sash of the dress. It has short cuffed sleeves and deep shawl collar. The dress has a sculpted and full skirt that nips into a silk sashed waist. The front is cut high and square across the neck, with a dipped V back, You can see the future infamous draping the Ceil employs through the detailing on the front skirt. Exceptional and in excellent, appears unworn condition.

The dress is fully lined in a hand set green silk through the bodice. The coatÔøΩ is lined in the same green silk that also hand finished. The collar has has same dressmakers paper worked inside so it holds its shape. It closes with a large fabric covered button at the neck. The dress closes with a hand set, back painted metal zipper. Ribbon edged finished seams inside and high end construction. Only the dress is labeled.
Note that I am loathe to separate this rare set so priced it as acombined piece - Individually each wouldbe priced more then the combined price!

Truly beautiful and exceptional piece designed by Douglas Curry and labeled as a Douglas Curry Original. This is the second dress I have had by Curry and both have been exceptionally well made and he had a unique and very fashion forward aesthetic. This particular dress is unusual and is also impeccably constructed. It is cut to show a girl's curves but in a sexy, chic kind of way. The body of the dress is a sheath of texture silk fabric with a high square neck that has just a hint of a curve at the neckline. The waist nips in and the skirt is fitted. The back is dipped into a V under that spectacular caped detailing. The cape is of course the highlight of the piece and what makes it stand apart. A flat expanse of the same silk flows from the shoulders for a dramatic and sculptural couture like feel!! It is always hard to photo black pieces so expect it to be better in person! It is absolutely stunning and a really unusual LBD. Excellent condition!

The cut of the dress is so unusual and flattering when on! The skirt is set high under the bust line and has soft pleats worked into the knit there. It rounds out at the hips and then comes back in at the knee. Above this the bodice is done in huge chunky rows of a cable knit and they appear to twist over each other and wrap around the wearer. The shoulder can sit high or low off the shoulders. There Is a built in flexible net inside the bodice - this combined with the knit perfectly shapes it self to the girl inside and if you don't need extra support you can get away with nothing else underneath. The wool is a good quality virgin wool. It is astonishing that he can take a chunky knit and somehow transform it into cocktail appropriate chicness and also not add a crazy amount of bulk to the wearer in the process. It is definitely sexy! Excellent condition.

I love this beautifully hand beaded shell and dress set by Amelia Gray! It is heavily beaded and all the beads are glass so it has a good rich feeling weight to it! It is two separate pieces - the inner dress cannot be worn really with out the shell - the little silk top is more like lining than a true dress. This is a clever way to both help carry the weight of the skirt properly and also so that you don't inadvertently flash skin when you move. Now you would rarely see a set constructed like this as it uses so much extra material and time! The shell can of course be paired with other pieces so is very versatile. I love the way they highlighted the hem of both pieces, collar and arm holes with a heavy banding of beads set in perfect little rows. The rest of the fabric is scattered with bead work. Very well made and of all high end quality materials! Excellent condition.

The inner dress has an attached top shell of silk and that also same silk also lines the skirt. The separate shell top is lined in a black silk. The dress closes with a back metal zipper and the shell also closes with a metal zipper. The shell can be completely unzipped. Hand finishes inside. There was a couple of tiny areas of missing beads but I had them filled with matching beads from the period.

Wonderful dress by Leonard of Paris that is in a great touch larger and very wearable size. Leonard Paris is a label that was a contemporary of Pucci. Leonard dresses tend to be the softer, more draped version of the Pucci look. This one is a delicious combination of vivid florals on a jet black backdrop. It is cut on a generous A-line and the skirt flares out with lots of fabric in it for movement but still has a defined waist. It comes with its original printed belt, that was in its original packaging too! I love the simple collared neckline and the contrasting panel of design that finishes the cuffs, neckline and hem. I row of bright gold toned metal buttons that sit atop the one shoulder that has an extra draping detail. It is super easy to wear and to travel with and the cut is very flattering and forgiving on a variety of sizes! Excellent condition I love the contrasting border print on the cuffs, hem and neck. The dress is a strong statement piece and yet still chic now. Excellent, appears unworn condition!

Unlined and closes with a hand set, back metal zipper. There are 4 gold buttons on one shoulder and the fabric is signed throughout. The original belt is present and in its original plastic, logo stamped zip bag! It was a touch too big on the mannequin so will sit better on a real girl.

This is just classic, coveted Versace Versus dress! It is an insane and instantly recognizable controlled chaos of color done on a plush cotton velvet. The velvet allows the colors to be as crisp and bright as you would wish them to be and the cut is all 1990s sex. A zipped front with a glamorous gold, large zipper pull can be done up to the high neck, or left as low as you dare. The dress is cut with curves and the fabric allows it to instantly mold to your body and become a second skin. Long sleeves have their fabric perfectly placed to work with the design and pattern of the body of the dress. It is everything wonderful about Gianni's work. Excellent, appears to be unworn condition
