Amazing suit from the Pattullo-Jo Copeland label. A very hard to find piece, this is exceptional on several levels. The fabric itself is wonderful - its a velvet cross check on a silk organza base over and inner lining. This combination gives the suit a wonderful depth and richness. The color is wonderful and the cut superb! The jacket is a little classic box cut and I absolutely love the mult- colored, over-sized rhinestone encrusted buttons. The sleeves are bracelet length. The skirt sits fitted on the hip and then flares out with a series of pleats giving it a bit of fullness but without taking away form the shape of the body. It is in mint, unworn condition and truly a little beauty!

The jacket and skirt are both fully lined. The jacket is lined in off white silky fabric and the skirt in black silk. The jacket closes with huge multi color rhinestone encrusted buttons and the skirt closes with a side painted metal zipper & hook and eye. eve where the fabric had thinned that I have had my tailor add a stitch or two - priced accordingly. Note the overall sense of color is darker then how it photoed - more of a black with the purple rather then vice versa - the light gives it a more vivid feel that how it is in real life.

An absolute fabulous silk chiffon dress! Silk chiffon seems to be the flavour of the moment on the runways and this vintage version is exceptional. Black silk has a wonderful array of bright metallic colors worked into it. These swirl like candy ribbons over the entire surface in pretty hues of metallic blues, greens, red and gold. The bodice is simple with a fairly low plunge. The skirt sweeps tot he floor and has panels of tightly knife pleated silk with a non pleated panel at the front that is cut so it creates a beautiful ruffled effect - this front panel also swoops up so you get a flash of leg! The sleeves are just past the elbow and have that same knife pleated treatment to them. Really wonderful. It is in excellent, seems to be unworn, condition!
Amazing and very rare set done in collaboration between Neil Bieff and Artist Arturo Herrera. Bieff pieces were carried in Bendel's and Bergdorf's in the 1970s and where de rigour for the upper end patrons of Studio 54. The elaborately beaded designs and lightweight silks were perfect attention getters and still allowed the wearer to dance all night long. They were very expensive pieces in their day - ranging in the thousands. Pieces with the collaborative effort of the duo are rarer then the Bieff ones alone and the sets where often broken up so to find one complete is a treasure! Super, super set and in excellent condition!

Both the top and skirt are lined in a second layer of the same silk crepe. The top slips over the head and has an elastic at the hem and cuffs. The elastic in the cuffs is just starting to loosen but is original and still Ok so I have left it as is. The skirt also has an elastic over a band of solid color silk crepe - this may be a replacement but I have seen other Bieff pieces with this same detail so I believe it is original as well.

Another romantic and feminine piece with that Valentino feel to it. It is all silk organza and chiffon ruffles edged with chocolate satin edgings. It is almost a baby doll shape with a higher waist line from which the skirt poufs out. The bodice is more fitted and has a nice V neck edged with ruffles. These same ruffles adorn each sleeve. Sarmi was known for his evening looks and for using the most amazing fabrics in the most decadent of ways. This is a wonderful and highly wearable example of his work!
A stunning and unusual design that results in a bombshell of a little black dress! Cut with that classic fifties vixen silhouette with the exaggerated sexiness of the late 80s and early 90s, this is meant to show off your curves! It gets extra bombshell treatment with that dramatic neckline with its built in bra cups draped in chiffon! It is cut with a lean skirt well past the knee and vertical seaming through either side of the waist. The waist cinches in and is emphasized your curves. The bodice is simple and sexy and the shoulders and sleeves left semi-sheer for full on pin up effect! It is a fantastic sexy look from a hard to find designer.

A simple cut is offset by dramatic fabric! A stunning lightweight lame has been used in this simple skinny strapped halter dress. The material itself has a snakeskin like print running through it in a coppery gold with an undertone of pink that makes it glint and gleam when the light catches it! The straps are the same fabric as the dress and there is a nice V plunge in the front and back is left bare and fairly low. The dress skims over the body and flows to an A-line. A really sexy piece in that nineties minimalist kind of way and surprisingly lightweight and fluid on. Love! Mint, seemingly unworn condition

This garment is from the personal closets of Jane & Judy Aldridge!
I love this dress. Trigere is one of my favorite designers and this piece is a really special and dramatic dress. Made of a fine silk wool crepe, it is cut to nip in at the waist - done by vertical seaming at the waist seams- and ends in a dramatic, architectural A-line skirt. The top is left sleek and simple. It is lined in a fantastic grade silk so feels like couture on. Judy says: "When I think of the perfect LBD, this Trigere dress perfectly fits the bill. I hope it goes to the perfect home, and is shown off the way it should be!!" I have to say I would agree! It is a wonderful piece and in mint condition!

This is one of those iconic designs that Moschino seems to be able to pop out endlessly. This one is from their Cheap & Chic line and feels so subtly naughty - its blatantly sexual and yet not at the same time! The dress itself is fairly simple - a chic little short skirt that has a touch of fullness, topped by a more fitted top and to the elbow sleeves. The showstopper is of course that giant cut out heart on the chest - made of red velvet (of course) and a definite eye-catcher! The Moschino wit at full play! Excellent condition!

This 1970s silk chiffon goddess dress by the great Jean Varon is constructed with a layer of eggplant hued silk chiffon cascading from the shoulders. A second layer of silk is set from the neckline so it acts like a romantic, feminine capelet. Underneath the top is cut halter style so your bare shoulders peep through that topmost layer. The skirt is a wide Aline cut so there is a lot of fabric in there and you get a fantastic amount of movement. It is really a lovely piece that drapes perfectly and feel shockingly fresh and modern! Absolutely fantastic and in excellent condition!

A really amazing pleated Hanae Mori in an unusual one sleeve, tiered design. The exterior layers are micro pleated poly chiffon with a circus design running through it that still shows even with the pleating technique used. One layer forms the top and sits over a second longer layer underneath. The neckline is edged in a ruffle that has a string of rhinestones highlighting it. This same rhinestone string is used to create on shoulder strap. The other side has a just past the elbow sleeve. It is very light and the color divine - an easy to wear piece with high impact. Excellent condition!

This is one of my most favorite pieces - It is very rare and very amazing! The silk is hand screened with an almost brutalist design in white over the purple base. (note the color is a true even purple - it looks varied in the photos but that is the challenge of photographing purple). The cut is fairly simple - it completely covers the body the a high neck, Long sleeves and a to the floor skirt. The real genu=ius of this piece lies in that stunning print and then the addition of rounded, padded cords made of the same fabric and stuffed with batting. These then circle the collar, cuffs and hem in stacked rows of three. They give the hem weight and add such an unusual and interesting detail. The belt is made the same way and you can cinch the waist as much or little as you please. I have put this in the small to medium category - the measurements are generous but it is meant to have some drape - it is not pinned on the size 4-6 mannequin. It is in wonderful condition and very striking!
Extremely early, unusual gown in rustling silk taffeta from Ceil Chapman. This is a stunning and unusual piece and if you collect or are looking to make a dramatic statement - this is the dress! The fabric has a moire pattern running through it an it is actually astonishing how much yardage s in that skirt! The skirt is an unusual shape - it scoops up at the front so you get a flash of leg and then curves down and back. Yards and yards of silk are in that skirt! Where it attaches at the waist it is gathered up and hand draped. It comes with a separate silk and starched net hip bustle that you hook into place around the waist and it sits under the front draping to push and exaggerate this detailing. The bodice is fitted and made more so by that tightly spaced row of buttons and loops down the back. The bodice is fitted and boned. The sleeves sit off shoulder and actually attach under each arm - almost giving them the effect of being gloves. Stunning, exceptionally original and early. A wonderful piece! Sleeves: 23" from top of their edges to their cuffs
Bust: 18.5" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: 13" flat across back from side seam to side seam
Hips: open
Bodice: 14.5" from top of the bodice to waist seam
Skirt: 28" from waist seam to shortest point of the skirt at the front, 42" to the longest at the back
The gown is unlined. The bodice is boned and it closes with a series of tightly spaced buttons up the back. Each sleeve closes with 3 hidden snaps. There is a separate netted waist bustle that acts to fill in the hip panel details at the front and sides. There are a few small flaws and the gown has been priced accordingly - the fabric that covers the boning inside the bodice is wearing thin or gone in spots. It does not show on the front but will have to be covered or addressed at some point I am sure. It is currently stable and wearable. There is a color change here and there along the bottom hem - it has faded to a purplish black in spots. There is so much fabric in the skirt this only really is an issue when the gown is laid out flat and inspected. You would never notice this when it is on. I have not added any crinolines to the skirt though you could to make it even more exaggerated a shape.

This fantastic Courreges caftan/smock dress is similar to ones I have had before, but this one is a very fine ribbed velvet corduroy. Black matte silk panels sit at each shoulder and fantastic top stitched edges run down the front where they are crossed by that belt if you choose to wear it that way. You can also wear it loose and easy. Front pockets are highlighted by the same treatment as the collar, cuffs and shoulders. Notched sides allow for easy of movement and an extra flash of leg. Super easy to wear and a bold statement piece. Marked a vintage Courreges 00 but meant to be oversized when worn without the belt. The belt has the Courreges logo embroidered at one end! Mint condition!
Alix of Miami is one of my favorite labels that just does not get a lot of hype. But their dresses are really well made, they used top notch grades of cottons and the prints screened on them where some of the best of the day - the colors are crisp and true! This dress is fitted and has lots of lovely details you just don't find in modern versions. The bust is all seamed with pink piping that runs under the bust and then around the waistline - helping to create that bombshell curve every girl wants when she wears a dress like this! The fabric has a slight diamond indent texture to it and darling pink flowers & greenery from top to bottom. It is gorgeous! Mint condition.
I absolutely love this silk printed strapless Lanvin dress! It's late 1970s, early eighties and it's in mint condition! The silk has a stunning, bright pink floral print running through it with mint green print for contrast. The bodice is strapless, boned and don't you love that pointed bust line?! So dramatic and it really takes this piece over the top! The dress is all about the details. Pockets sit just below waistline and really emphasize the bombshell shape. The skirt is lean and ends just above the knee. It is stunner and highly collectible. Mint condition.

Scott Barrie is renowned for designing sexy, sometimes outrageous clothing and was particularly adept in the use of silk chiffon and silk jersey. This is exactly what I am talking about - it is made of a slinky brown silk jersey and drapes and moves beautifully. His models were known not to walk down the catwalk but to strut and dance and boogie, infusing each piece with pure joy and the sense of being alive. His dresses often had wrapped bits or ties like this as well - this one has super long wide jersey ties in the same fabric that fall from each shoulder and can be crossed over the bust as I have done and then wrapped around the waist one or several times depending on the look you are after. The color is very flattering on a wide range of skin tones and his piece are rapidly becoming highly collectible. Barrie was a great, but sometime overlooked American designer. Mint condition.

This dress is an unusual combination of a few thoughts that oddly seem to work. The bust is been heavily beaded - thousands and thousands of tiny seed beads cover every bit of fabric in the top and make that almost camouflage looking pattern. The neckline is cut high and attaches front to back high up on the top of the shoulder, while the arm holes curve down - this gives it a slight halter top feel. The waist cinches in and is emphasized by a wide black sating sash which is original to the dress. The skirt is very full and shockingly light. It has a silk interior over which a lace net has been applied and then looped gold detailed ribbon swirled over. Very unusual and pretty - no designer label other them the one Neiman Marcus used on the late 50s through the mid sixties. Excellent condition.
This Malcolm Starr silk gown is absolutely stunning. The color is a touch softer then how it presents in the photos and actually works better that way! It has an air of refinement and elegance to it through the combination of the silk and the thick panels of beading. The dress its self is a simple cut - an almost sculptural collar set so that where it meets the top of the dress it as almost right angles out to the arm holes. The body of the dress is a simple sheath that skims the body to the ground with a slight A-line. Beautiful ribbons of organza are beaded, sequined and covered in rhinestones and then set in vertical bands from the top of the bust to below the knee. The encircle the entire dress and add a wonderful glint and sparkle to it! Wonderful piece and in excellent condition!
An Ossie Clark dress is always a fantastic find and you cannot go wrong with a basic black in his most classic of dress shapes! It has his signature over-sized dog ear collar and a row of fabric covered buttons that are set to show just a hint of skin even when fully buttoned. The sleeves are fantastically full and billow out until they are cinched in at the buttoned tight, skinny fit cuffs. The Moss crepe is cut on the bias so the drape is perfect. The dress has and yards and yards of moss crepe fabric that cascades and swishes around the knees when you move. A great slightly larger size that you can wear loose or belt! Excellent condition!
This is a gorgeous Tom Ford for Gucci soft, sexy jersey dress. The fabric is extremely light weight and moves and drapes perfectly. This piece is iconic and the gold lame version of this dress walked the Fall 2000 runway when it was presented! A deep plunge front is anchored by a heavy gold toned Gucci "dragon" that adds a bit of extra bling and also anchors the deep V neckline in place. It has a slight twist to the fabric where the dragon is placed which is a great detail. The sleeves are long and skinny and the dress cut to skim the body and emphasize your curves. Highly collectible and in mint condition.

This is one of the coolest, chicest coats done in a fantastic, multi-hued plaid mohair like wool. This is an early piece from the Oscar De La Renta Boutique. It has a fantastic exaggerated Peter Pan collar and a double row of green buttons - it is almost ea coat style mixed with a trench. A tie belt cinches in the waist and it has big front pockets that fold over and really add an interesting detail. It has a high back vent and just a bot of swing as it nears the hem. This is a rare and hard to find larger sized Courreges ensemble. It is hard enough to find Courreges this days but to find one that is actually a decent size is wonderful! And the set can be worn together or broken up and worn as separates - double bang for your buck! This is classic Courreges with a sleeveless vest like top and a wrap and snap A-line skirt. The base fabric is jet black and classic knit jersey in a heavier weighted fabric. All the edges are done in signature patent. The top has a seam at the waist for a bit of definition and interesting pinched & stitched seaming details on either side of the waist - these are done in place of the typical seaming that would be done on a garment. The arm holes end in a point another small and unusual Courreges touch. The skirt is fantastic and wraps and snaps into place. Impeccably constructed as one would expect and in excellent condition!

This is a stunning, museum quality piece that you really will be surprised to see in person - it is very hard to convey how substantial and well made this piece is. Really take a moment to super size the photos to get an idea of the fabric and textures of this piece! Those dots are all raised so you get an amazing textile effect. The bow and bottom hem is made of a heavy grade silk matte satin ribbon. The construction techniques used are of couture level and the main fabric is backed and weighted to retain its shape. Hidden pockets along the front seams, cap sleeves and a adorable little collar topping that dramatic and exaggerated bow at the front! It's a statement piece to be sure! Mint condition.
The label on this wonderful little bit of history dates it to the mid-sixties. Lilly Pulitzer is infamous for having dressed Jackie Kennedy during the summer months and her bright colored, happy little shifts were favorites of Hampton society girls too! Her dresses are bright and fresh and the early ones always incorporated lace details. This one does just that with an applique of lace at the neck and detailing that one top placed pocket on one hip! The dress is fresh and modern still and has a completely summer innocence to it. It is also a great larger, wearable size and in mint condition. An early Sonia Rykiel that really sums up her chic French girl style that screams, throw on and go, with a touch of whimsy and charm! This is a very light weight, very fine wool jersey that is amazingly soft. The bodice is tightly fitted but has that wonderful attached caped collar that drapes over it at both the front and back. This really gives it a nice romantic feel. The skirt is attached at the waist with exposed, almost raw seam work - another fabulous, but subtle detail. Lots of fabric was used in the skirt so you get a lot of movement. It is a real stunner and one that is endlessly interesting to style. An amazing Alaia knit dress made of his signature stretch knit that is made to wrap and exaggerate your every curve. It is long and lean and skims the body. The neckline is a wide rounded scoop that shows off a girls cleavage to full, almost scandalous advantage. There is no defined waist - it glides past the bust and down and around the hips. There is an incredible lace panel that is set just above the knees at the front so you get a glimpse of the skin of your thighs. Seriously beautiful little day dress that is bang on in every possible way. The cut is simple and chic - it skims and hugs the body but in the most refined of ways. The silk is superb- very high quality silk twill. Onto that is screened a stunning array of flowers and the colors literally feel as if they are about to jump off the dress they are still so crisp and bright. I love the detail on the shoulder too - its a modified bow but is worked into the seam work of the fabric and constructed as if it is blooming out of the fabric. It is gorgeous and stunning! Mint condition.
Drop dead gorgeous screened print dress by Alix of Miami. The cotton is polished and is a beautifully screened floral print that is still extremely vibrant and true - in fact this dress looks like it has never been worn! The braided piping detail that runs around the waist and adds to the illusion of a nipped in waistline is utterly fantastic. The interior construction is very well done - it has its own built in bra area so no additional underpinning is required there. I love the faux crossover bodice - it really is flattering and the dress is in beautiful condition.

Waist: 15" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: 18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Bodice: approx 14" from top of shoulder to piping at the side of the waist
Skirt: approx 26" from piping on the side of the waist to bottom hem
The dress is fully lined in an off white cotton muslin. The bust has a built in cup area that is similar in construction to a swimsuit of this era. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Note the inside bust sits a bit high as some of these 1950s pieces do - you could remove the interior cup if necessary.

Love this fitted one shoulder dress by Missoni. It is a sleek sheath of fluid, fine poly jersey that is covered with the infamous Missoni print and done in their signature orange and coral hues. Even that fantastic fringe have a color variation built into them! The fringe runs in slanted bands and circle the entire dress so with every movement of yours they move! It weighs ounces and that one shoulder just adds to the sexiness of the piece. The jersey skims and clings over the body but in a forgiving way, helped by the profusion of print and the fringe! Gorgeous and in excellent condition

Love this printed 1970s dress by Maurice, who was a Pucci & Leonard contemporary in the seventies and used the same type of print work in his pieces. The dress has a halter style bodice that is bordered with a contrasting print. It is cut fairly straight though the hips and has a slit up one side to show a flash of leg. It is a great & easy dress to wear† - style it for day with flats or paired with a cropped evening jacket and heels for evening events year-round. I love the simple halter cut from which the skirt flows to the ground. The back is left completely bare and the colors remain crisp and true. Excellent condition!
This is an absolutely stunning Paganne in a soft silk jersey, with an amazing color palette of bright tropical lime greens, mixed with a pretty floral print in pinks all mixed with a crisp white! The bodice is very simple with pretty floral trimmed bands around the neck and the arms. It has a bit of a scooped neck which is very flattering. The skirt is long and the combination of print and color is so striking! One side of that skirt has a sexy 18" slit. It is a beautiful, dramatic piece and in excellent condition
Absolutely stunning pale yellow chiffon full length dress by Mollie Parnis, one of my favorite American designers! The dress is slightly paler then how it has photoed - a very soft and romantic shade of whipped lemon. The outermost layer of chiffon has a pale silk layer under it and an additional layer of organza under that - this really gives the fabric depth an texture and a floating romantic feel. The floral applique is heat set directly onto the chiffon - so each floral was individually cut and set into place and fused with the chiffon - you can actually see the edgings of each - amazing! The belt is done in the darker fabric so it picks up the depth of color at the bottom of the skirt. It is a beautiful, dramatic piece and in excellent condition.
