1960s Pierre Cardin Canvas Logo Coat
Wonderful canvas coat by Pierre Cardin is like a high fashion Macintosh sans trench. This one is A-line and done in a black canvas with a taupe striping of canvas that runs across the chest and forms a giant side set "P" which is of course the Pierre Cardin logo. The hem has a similar striping of fabric and I love how the sides are cut curved and sculptural - his signature touch! The neckline is high and the buttons set to one side. The sleeves are kept simple so that the shape and that wonderful striping take center stage. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with off-set buttons down the front. The fabric has a a touch of patina - though I think this is more just the natural nature of the fabric. Hidden pockets along the side seams.
