I love always finding a great Josefa caftan and have covered the history of the label a couple of times in my Instagram. They are like owning a piece of wearable art. Every single one of them was entirely hand made and detailed. They were made in Mexico in the late sixties to early seventies and were the epitome of Bohemian chic in their day. They are easy to wear pieces that can go from the beach, to exploring far off markets, to being worn as an evening piece depending on how you style them.  This one is a little extra interesting because it seems to have been made specifically for 'Anna x Edmundo Villa' according to a ribbon around the inner hem. Love this little extra bit of history it has.

This is a wonderful example of her work and it is gorgeous too. The cotton is still crisp  and the caftan is a dream on. This is definitely one of her bright and vivid pieces and I love that about it. The cut through the body is full and easy. It falls from the shoulders and opens up even more as it nears the hem.  The panels are set along each side to add volume and I love how the stripe is set the opposite way for a little added detail and contrast. Because the cut is more loose and easy over the body it is incredibly easy to wear. The sleeves are fantastic and each is wide and straight.  This one also has a hood and it is slightly oversized for a really fantastic feel. At the back of the hood it is specifically shaped so that two huge yarn tassels fall separately and over each other. At the front a third over-sized tassel is set on the zipper pull for an OTT finish. These are all done by hand and takes the caftan to new heights of vintage  fabulousness. Excellent condition

The hood is lined in an orange cotton and the rest of the caftan is unlined.  It closes at the front with a zipper. Hand work throughout and hand made tassels. It is even better in person. The loose cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes - it will just be more over-sized caftan feel on a smaller frame

  • We require three equal payments of the layaway total. You will be invoiced for the first amount upon request
  • payment two of the remaining balance will be billed two weeks from the date of the initial deposit.
  • The final payment is due two weeks after the second payment and shipping will be billed on this invoice as well.
  • items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
