• This is one of my favourite Bill Tice prints. Pieces with this particular pattern are tough to find and this little jumpsuit is super special. It is only the second one I have ever seen and the first is one that I sold several years ago in the shop.
• His easy-to-wear and glamorous pieces have been worn by countless celebrities for the red carpet and events. Every girl that has bought one of his pieces through me has absolutely loved them. This jumpsuit is exceptional example of his work.
• This is one of those great little pieces that you will only ever find with vintage.
• The jumpsuit is made out of a light as air scarf weight tissue silk that is printed with an oversized print on a soft pink-peach base. The fabric choice makes it extremely comfortable to wear and it drapes and falls incredibly on the body. It weighs ounces and when you put it on it feel like you are wearing almost nothing.
• The front is a single piece of fabric that is piped around the edges. The piping extends out into ties that you tie behind the neck to hold the halter in place.
• This leaves the entire back and sides completely bare and exposed.
• The waist is detailed with a wide band that has his signature top stitching and a bit of padding inside the layers to give it some support and detail. I love how it buttons with the little silk covered buttons at the back.
• From there it curves over the hips and into long pant legs that are cut wide and full through the legs. The pants are extraordinary. As they reach the bottom hem they are cinched back in and gathered through the seam at the bottom. This creates a balloon / harem effect that is just fantastic. And it has pockets. 
• It is extraordinarily well done and very sexy yet so easy and comfortable to wear.
• The jumpsuit is unlined and buttons to close at the back of the waist with three silk covered buttons. There is one hidden snap in the opening under that. It ties at the back of the neck and is gathered in at the cuffs. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.

I love all of the pieces by Bill Tice that I bring into the shop. Most, including this one, were made in the 1980-1981 time period. His easy-to-wear and glamorous jersey pieces have been worn by countless celebrities for the red carpet and events. Every girl that has bought one of his pieces through me has absolutely loved it. This is the first time I have had one of these long open jackets in this peach the shop and I'm absolutely obsessed with it. And I just out a peach dress from the same label that would match this perfectly. You can see that here.

It is made of a soft peach jersey that is meant to mimic the feel of silk jersey. This is one of those things that is a fail-safe piece that you know is going to work every time you put it on. This fabric has the added bonus of traveling very well. It is the kind of piece you can throw into your suit case and slip on over just about anything upon arrival with either flats or heels and you are instantly ready to walk out the door. It is cut to feel long and slim with pleats running down its full length. It has gold cording that defines the collar, the bodice and back, around the arms and the cuffs. There's also a long stripe of the gold cording that follows the ties that close it at the neck. To wear it you just slip it on and tie it at the neck with those ties. The fabric is very light so when you move this has a ton of movement and will billow out around and behind you. It's fantastic. Excellent condition.

• This dress is from 1978.
• It was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston Frowick.
• I am always on the look out for this style of dress by Halston. It is perhaps the most iconic of all of the Halston silhouettes.
• In 2016 the twin of this dress entered modern day fashion history when Kate Moss wore its twin on the red carpet at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. 
• We have had Martha Hunt wear a white one version that she sourced from us to Cannes. She landed on several Best Dressed lists as a result. These were made in a variety of colours and this one is a gorgeous red coral colour with a slight orange undertone to it. 
• There is a certain sexiness caused by the illusion of having the entire dress suspended by one shoulder. It gives the sense that the entire dress could drop in a puddle around you.
• It is constructed from two attached layers. The inner dress skims over the body in a long sheath. The inner part of the dress has a high slit that travels up the side of the leg opposite to the draped side. So when you walk or sit you get a flash of leg.
• Attached to that inner sheath lies a draped panel of the same fabric that is suspended from the shoulder. This falls from that shoulder and drapes down and over the front and the back of the dress so that the jersey cascades loosely down and over you.
• This is a classic dress by Halston that is perfect for travelling as it is wash and wear and so easy to style. A quick change of shoe takes it day to night in a snap.
• The dress slips on to wear with a hook at the top of one shoulder. It should fit a variety of sizes since it is not cut to be super fitted and the jersey does have some stretch. I have put the comfortable range of stretch of the inner part of the dress below. Part of the hem was sewn by hand and it has been left as found.

• The dress dates to the time period between 1976-1978.
• It was made under the creative direction of Loris Azzaro.
• Azzaro launched his label in 1967 and quickly defined his trademark looks by using ornate fabrics and avant garde ways of defining the body.
• Some of the most beautiful women in the world wore his clothing including Marisa Berenson, Raquel Welch, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren and Tina Turner. 
• By the seventies and eighties he was experimenting with volume and proportions and new fabrics that at the time were all cutting edge.
• This is a stunning example of his work from the mid- to later part of the 1970s. To give you an idea of the way the paper bodice fits I have included a photo of French singer Dalida and one if Raquel Welch both wear dresses similar to the bodice of this one.
• The dress combines glossy black sequins with a netted tulle skirt.
• The dress is strapless and the bodice is cut with a rounded sweetheart neckline. The cups are shaped and the dress curves down and over the waist. From there is continues back out to curve over the hips.
  
• This entire extended upper portion of the dress is completely covered in glossy black sequins that catch the light from every angle. The sequins have been applied to the dress so that they each overlap the one next to it creating a dense application.
• Under that the skirt falls to the floor and widen out as it near the hem. 
• The skirt is made out of of a netted tulle that is set in ruffle layers that curve up and toward the front. The layers of ruffles give the skirt incredible movement when you move. A full underskirt sits under that and is done in a black silk so that it's opaque enough to wear.
• At the back the length of the bodice is extended a bit before the skirt starts. This is a clever way to create curves and length.
• It is a stunning dress and one of the best I have had from him.
• The dress is fully lined in a black silk and closes with a zipper at the back. His signature cupped strapless bra is tacked inside. You could easily remove or replace this as needed for a better fit. There is elastic around the upper seam of the bodice and the fabric has some give. Hand finished throughout.
• There is no size tag present. Please go by the measurements listed below.

• The twin of this dress walked the runway for the Spring 1978 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent.
• We found a reference photo from the runway and it's twin was also used in the ad campaign that season.
• The reference photos show the dress with a sash that is in a solid print. When the dresses were produced and sold in the shops they were sent with matching dotted tie belts.
• I have photoed it here both loose and easy without the tie belt  so you can see how it can be worn as more of a caftan feel and with the belt tied to add shape.
• The dress is made out of a single layer of a black silk chiffon with a multi-colour dot print screened onto the chiffon. It is extremely light-in-weight and moves very beautifully.
• The neckline of the top is set wide across and has an elastic finish so that you can wear it off of the shoulder for a bare expanse of skin to show. I love the little ruffled detail along the edge that the elastic gathering creates.
• Sleeves extend straight out from there and are extremely full and open. They are brought in at the cuff and he repeated the same elastic gathering detail just like on the neckline.
• Under that the dress skims and opens to be very full and easy all the way down to the hem. This gives an incredible movement around you because of the ultra-light weight of the fabric.
• To get a more defined feeling through the middle you just tie the belt and cinch it in as much as you wish. On the runway and in the ad campaign it was styled belted with a solid wider sash. I love that it shows that by changing up the look of the belt it changes up the look of the dress.
  
• It is very full by the hem and I love how the bottom is finished with a very wide band of the same fabric. The front is cut shorter than the back and that extra ruffle around the bottom and the changing length all help to really allow it to move around you.
• This is an absolutely stunning example of his work during this time period and I love that it is so well documented.
• The dress is unlined and it weighs very little. It slips over the head to wear with elastic through the neckline. Each cuff has elastic. The open and loose cut should allow it to fit a wide range of sizes. The belt is original to the dress and is included. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
