1950s Red & Gold Painted Mexican Skirt

A spectacular 1950s hand painted Mexican circle skirt with a Tel-Art label. I love the retro label, don't you? It is on a hand dyed red cotton base and then a fantastic design of graduated shades of black circles the skirt. Near the hem a large, wide panel of design is highlighted with hand painted gold detailing. It is entirely hand painted through out and the colors are still vibrant and true. There is a ton of fabric in there - this is a true full circle skirt. A very unusual piece and highly collectible too - these truly are works of art and I have never seen one like this before. Excellent condition.

Waist: Because it wraps it can go from 24" to about 30"
Hips: open
Total length: 32" from waist seam to bottom hem

The skirt is unlined and wraps and hooks to close with ties at both sides of the waist. Hand sewn hem! Shown over a crinoline that is not included.
