1930/40s Bes Ben Feather & Felt Hat

This late 1930s, early 1940s topper is pure high drama! Bes Ben was a famous Chicago milliner who specialized in hats that were elaborate and unusual. This is an early piece that is quite beautiful. A rounded cap has a neat, small half brim that follows the curve of the hat. To this brilliant plumage is added and secured by a paste rhinestone. large stone. The fathers are very dramatic and add height and width! It is amazing and highly collectible.

The feathers show a teeny bit of wear but it is very minor. Super-size the photos to see. Slight dustiness tot he felt. Overall excellent condition

20" in diameter but is a topper so meant to sit high on the head - more of a cap then a true hat. Each plume is 12" ling and the width of the hat at the widest point is 21". The height is approx 10"
