Well Documented Fall 2014 Dolce & Gabbana Runway Look 17 Woodland Creature Silk Chiffon Dress

• The twin of the dress was Look 17 on the Fall 2014 Dolce and Gabbana runway.
• It was made under the creative direction of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
• This was the dress of the season and it is extremely well documented. It various twins may be one of the most photographed and documented pieces that we have ever had for sale on the site.
• Only a limited amount of these dresses were sent to select D&G shops worldwide.
• This one is still in it's original uncut length as it was sold in the shops at that time.
• The dress is made out of a phenomenal woodland creature printed silk chiffon. The base colour is a deep purple that has a blue undertone to it.
• Onto the silk is a stunning print featuring owls and squirrels mixed with large pink roses that cavort over the entire dress from shoulder to hem.
• The dress is exquisite and I love that you can see just how wonderful it is on the body from the many runway, red carpet and editorial reference photos that we have found.
• There are yards and yards of silk chiffon in the dress but it weighs next to nothing so it floats and moves most beautiful around you when you walk or move.
• The shoulders are soft and each is detailed with three pink crystal rhinestone encrusted metal flowers that are attached along the top of each shoulder. Exquisite little flower has a ring of tiny blue rhinestones and a gold rhinestone centre. I love the little added glitz this adds to the dress. The sleeves extend out from there and fall in a single layer of the silk chiffon to the wrist.
• The silk over the bodice is kept simple and skims over you to a piped band of the same fabric that circles around the waist and is set slightly above the natural waistline.
• I love the shape created around the waist because of the way that the silk is gathered in all the way around and into the waist band.
• The skirt falls to the floor from there. It widens out beautifully as it nears the hem and the soft gathers that are set it around the waist give it beautiful movement as you move. It is exceptionally full with many yards of silk used.
• The skirt is made from two layers of the same printed silk chiffon so you get this soft pattern on pattern effect that is absolutely lovely.
• The back of the skirt is cut longer than the front so you get a stunning sweeping out behind you. You can see how phenomenal this all sits in the reference photos that we have added for you to see.
• I own the twin of this dress and it is a gorgeous piece that is extremely well constructed.
• The dress is unlined through the sleeves and bought us so has a slight transparency. The skirt is constructed from two layers of the same printed silk chiffon. The dress closes with a hidden set back zipper. There is a wide band around the inner waist that hooks to close. I see one blue rhinestone missing off one button on the shoulder and the tiniest catch on the skirt at the bar. Both are extremely minor but mentioned for accuracy. Please see the photos after the label shot. The dress otherwise looks to have been unworn or worn very little.
