• This is a gorgeous Couture dress from 1970s Lanvin.
• It was made under the creative direction of Jules-Francois Crahay
• Jules-Francois headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984. He has been noted as one of fashion’s'great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugely desirable and influential.'His time at the Lanvin label&is one of my personal favourites for the house.
• The dress would have been completely made by hand in the Paris Atelier.
• The fabric is a light weight lace that creates a pretty floral print that covers the dress from head to toe. 
• The bodice of the dress is fantastic. It is cut halter style and you simply slip your head through the opening so that it sits behind the neck. Each halter is cut on a slight curve so even though it is plunged to the band under the bust, it feels very safe when you are wearing it.
• It still has a sexy element though. Each panel is made out of two layers of the lace and the lace is placed to give you coverage so that it can be safely worn.  But you still do see a teeny bit of skin underneath between the more covered lace parts. It is sexy but in a subtle way that is very clever.
• I love that the halter front leaves the entire upper back left bare and exposed.
• A wide 4.5" band wraps around the waist starting just under the bust and at the centre it peaks downwards to be a full 8 inches wide. It is made in the same way as the halter top with two layers of lace so that it also has a slight bit of transparency through the layers.
• The skirt falls to the floor from there widening out as it nears the hem.
  
• Inside everything has been done by hand to Couture standards.
• The panels at the front, as well as the band around the waist, are made of two layers of the lace as described above. The skirt is fully lined in a matching coloured silky rayon. It closes at the back with a hand set zipper. All of the inner seams are done by hand. The skirt was let down at some point and you can see a very faint line on the lining of where it was turned under. The outer layer of lace has a small turned under hem and the edge of the inner lining is raw. It has been left as found for the added length.
• There are no size tags present since it is Couture so please go by the listed measurements below.

• The twin of this dress was a part of the presentation for the Resort 2012 collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alber Elbaz.
• The dress is made of an ivory cotton lace with silk net edging that falls beautifully over the body. 
• The bodice has a soft and romantic feel as it glides over you. The shoulders are wide and curve into a shallow scoop at the front. I love how he chose to edge the neckline and openings for the arms with that little bit of silk for a pretty contrast.
• The lace skims over the bust and is cut more generously around the waist. This helps to keep the silhouette soft and pretty. If you did want a more defined shape you could easily add a belt or silk ribbon around the waist that could be as elaborate as or simple as you wished it to be.
• The lace skims past the waist and then the skirt is set over top of the lace of the bodice in a very deliberate way that makes the seam there a part of the design. The workmanship is exquisite where they meet and I love how the fabric of the skirt has been gathered into little ruffles that curve all the way around you.
• From there it falls over the hips and down to the floor in a beautiful drape of lace. The fabric is light and soft and there is an additional layer of silk chiffon underneath so that it feels amazing against the skin. 
• All of the fabric that was gathered in around the top of the hips is allowed to expand and give you the fullness of the skirt so that you get this pretty sweep of fabric around you when you move.
• It is extremely pretty and romantic in feel.
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk chiffon. It closes with an exposed bronze colour zipper at the side. It is in its original length. It appears to have been worn very little at all.

• This is an absolutely beautiful dress by Lanvin from the 2013 wedding collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Alber Elbaz
• He did several variations of this dress and I've included a few of them because I think that it gives you an idea of how the dress will look like on the body. I have had some of these in the shop before and each is stunning.
• I love that it doesn't necessarily feel like a typical wedding gown. A client, who bought the last I had, wore it for an event that was nothing to do with a wedding.
• The dress is made from a fine silk detailed with ivory coloured silk ribbon.
• The bodice is strapless and the dress skims over the body from there to the hem.
• At the back it is gathered up in that elaborate ruffle and bow detailing. This gathering brings the dress in slightly under the hips and gives it a pretty interesting shape as it falls around you.
• The ruffles are tremendously beautiful. A large bow tops them at the back and then they fall and are set all the way down to trail down past the hips, down the skirt and trail past the hem. They are elaborate and caught up with hand placed stitching to hold them in place.
• One of his signature, larger exposed zippers is the perfect finishing Alber touch.
• The fabric has a slight texture running over it and is just thick enough to hold the shape that you see. It is gorgeous.
• The dress is fully lined in an ivory silk with inner structure though the bodice that is lightly boned. An inner waist stay hooks to close. It closes with the signature exposed Lanvin zipper between the ruffles at the back. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. The colour is slightly richer and creamier  in person.

• This is a gorgeous Demi-Couture dress from 1970s Lanvin.
• Made under the creative direction of Jules-Francois Crahay

• The Lanvin label is numbered and the dress has been made to demi-couture standards.
• This dress is made from a fine blue silk tulle that has a floral pattern embroidered over its surface in the same blue. The lining is done with a deep purple silk and this gives it this very unusual colour that lies somewhere between a deep blue and a deep purple.
• Onto the top silk net there is an exquisite floral design done with a metallic gold thread. That same gold thread also circles around the lower skirt in two horizontal panels done in a open chain link design. More of the floral netting separates those panels.
• The result is even better on person as the gold feel more prominent. I love how the gold catches the light from every angle.
• The bodice skims over you and the sleeves are long. Each sleeve has a bit of puff above the elastic cuff.
• The waist is cut more generously and you could add a ribbon or a belt to cinch it in.
• The skirt skims over the hips to the floor and widens out as it nears the hem. The added panels of gold on the skirt help to give the skirt support and help hold its shape.
• Fully lined in a purple silk chiffon through the top and a purple silk through the skirt. It closes with a back hand set zipper and there is elastic in each cuff. Hand finishes and hand finished inner seams.
• The label is numbered.
• There is no size tag present and the bias cut of the lining and the net give it a little give so I have put the comfortable range of measurements where it will give a bit.

• This beautiful and rare coat is from the Fall 1952 Lanvin Collection.
• It was made under the creative direction of Antonio Castillo.
• True Couture examples from this era are extremely rare and this is a fantastic piece showcasing the Haute Couture work being done by the house of Lanvin during the years that Antonio Castillo headed the atelier.
• Castillo started off his career at the houses of Paquin and Piquet. He also did a stint designing accessories for Chanel. He quickly became known as one of the most promising designers to emerge after WWII and that reputation was part of why he was chosen in 1950 to become the head designer at the House of Lanvin. The press at the time lauded him, along with Balmain, Dior and Balenciaga, as the new generation of the Paris Couture designers. During his time at Lanvin the house was known for the simple and elegant lines.
• We found a reference photo of its near twin that was styled with a belt, dramatic gloves and matching hat added. It is very beautiful and the colour is exceptional.
• The coat would have been completely made by hand in the Paris atelier.
• This coat is beautifully tailored. The double row of buttons at the front and curving cut makes it feel as chic and wearable now as it was when first made.
• It is entirely finished by hand and has its numbered couture tape under the label. 
• It has a deceptively simple cut that hides the precise seams and masterfully tailored cut. It is constructed with the absolute minimal seam work to create the curves of the coat that you see.
• It is more fitted through the upper bodice and then skims over the waist and flares out slightly as it nears the hem.
• The collar is neat with a notched front and each sleeve ends in a turned up cuff.
• A half belt is attached at the back and you could add a belt over it to emphasize the shape even more.
• The fabric is amazing with a soft finish to it. I believe it is an Alpaca or perhaps a type of cashmere and it is extremely luxurious. The fact that it is dyed that amazing blue makes it that much more brilliant. It is even better in person and the fabric has to be seen and felt to truly be appreciated. This fabric choice allowed Castillo to be able to sculpt the exact shape that he desired.
• The front has detailed seaming that becomes part of the actual design and inside that is a double row of blue buttons that run down the front to the waist.
• You can wear this one open or do it up right to the neck like the reference photo.
• I love the sculptural effect the coat has once on and that beautifully full lower skirting. No shortcut was taken in the construction of this lovely coat and it is an outstanding piece of fashion history in every possible way.
• Fully lined in a hand set black silk taffeta and closes with the button down the front. Finished to Haute Couture standards and entirely done by hand. The Haute Couture numbered tape label is present under the main label and is numbered 15.418. 
• There is no size tag present because it is true Couture. Please go by the measurements list listed below.

• This set is from the early to mid-seventies and comes directly from the Client, who got it from Gres atelier
• It was made under the creative direction of Madame Gres.
• Gres' work has had profound effects on Haute Couture and her influence still resonates to this day. Her attention to detail, master draping techniques and respect for the female form is unparalleled.
• She was known for designing and creating garments directly on her models and this became a signature of her work.
• She opened her first atelier, La Maison Alix in 1932. A partnership briefly changed the house's name to Alix Barton and then the label went to simply Alix. In 1942 she married, and the label made its last change to became Madame Gres, which was a partial anagram of Serge, her husband's first name.
• Her work spans over five full decades with the vast majority of it, with the exception of a short-lived RTW line begun in 1980, dedicated solely to creating Haute Couture. She is one of the greatest couturiers of our time and her pieces are very rare and hard to find.
• This is an amazing vintage true Haute Couture set. 
• I love the camel coloured wide legged jersey pants with their wide cut legs. The jersey they are made out of is the soft wool that she used extensively during this time period and it has a soft finish to it that looks and feels heavenly once on.
• The pants are banded at the top with a wide gathered sash of a pale yellow jersey for contrast to the camel colour below. This hooks to the one side and there is built-in boning at the sides to hold its shape around the waist. It is a touch wider on one side then the other to create a pretty curve. The pants fall to the floor and widen out to be 64" around at each hem.
• The top has a metallic finish to it. The silk has actual metal thread woven through it and this gives it a subtle glint from all angles. A design runs through the silk and the metal thread is woven onto that in a floral design.
• The neckline is scooped and it skims over you to the waist. The sleeves are long and simple.
• It ties into place at the back with ties made of the same fabric. These sit on an angle that starts at the neckline, run across to one side and then go straight down to the hem of the top. This leaves a little bare expanse of skin showing between the ties.
• I photoed the top both un-tucked and tucked as it can be worn either way.
• Both pieces have a Haute Couture label in them and the top has an additional handwritten numbered tag inside.
• This is an incredible and rare opportunity to own a beautiful piece of her work and it is that much more versatile with the two pieces since you can mix and match with pieces from your exiting wardrobe.
• Both pieces are unlined and have been completely finished by hand. The pants close with hook and eye at the band and a zipper under that. There is a minor repair to the jersey inside the inner structure of the band and then one of the fold along one side. Both only show internally. The top ties to close at the back.

• This set is from the Fall 1978 YSL Rive Gauche collection
• It was made under the creative direction of Yves Saint Laurent
• We found reference photos of the twin of each of these two pieces. They were not shown on the runway together but coordinating pieces where sold in the shops so they could be mixed and matched.
• I love that it is a set made up of two pieces. It looks like a full dress when worn together but you still have the versatility of being able to mix and match each with things you already have in your wardrobe.
• The top is made out of a black chiffon that has gold thread dots woven through the silk. The body of the skirt is a black velvet and then it has a extensive ruffle all the way around the neck in the same silk and gold chiffon.
• The silk chiffon used on both pieces is amazing. The gold thread that creates the dot pattern throughout really pops off the black.
• Yves was a master at choosing the fabrics that were the perfect compliment to his cuts. These pieces are no exception to that rule. The choice of the silk chiffon keep the top feather light and adding it to the skirt allows it to have that much more movement around you when you move.
• The top is cut to skim over you with a loose and easy feel that is more of a baby doll shape. I have shown the top both tucked and un-tucked so you can get an idea of the shape. 
• The collar is absolutely fantastic. It has a wide ruffle that circles the entire neckline. You can wear it more scooped at the front and closer to the neck or wear it wide and straight across to the very edges of the shoulders.
• I love the slight transparency that the top has with its single layer of silk chiffon.
• The skirt wraps and hooks where it meets. On the side that is open from there down to the hem is a silk chiffon ruffle in the same fabric as the top. This goes all the way to the hem and then around the bottom of the skirt. It adds fantastic movement as you move.
• The top is unlined and the velvet of the skirt is self-backed. The top slips over the head to wear. The skirt closes at the side with a flat hook and eye at the waist and it is open to the hem under that. If you did not want the skirt to be as open you could move the hook at the waist or add hooks along the side.
• Both pieces are tagged a vintage YSL 40

• This would date to the late 1970s.
• It was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston.
• This Halston IV jumpsuit is a special piece simply because these jumpsuits are just simply harder to find. Plus they are fabulous pieces to wear.
• The design is simple but at the same time it has so much impact with its bare and sexy feel combined with the open back and ultra wide legs.
• This one is clearly based on his original 1972 version that walked the runway that season and we have included a reference photo of that here to give you an idea of how fantastic this is on the body.
• It is an incredible piece that you can wear over and over and style it in a zillion ways depending on what you pair with it.
• It is made from a red jersey that drapes over the body like magic. There is a a touch of Studio 54, disco era sexiness thrown in the mix and it just couldn't be better. It is one of those pieces that you just slip on and walk out the door.
• The jersey is easy to care for and will travel well. I love that you can pair this with flats for day or go all out glamour for night.
• The top plunges at the front and the halter triangles that cover the bust extend up and into ties that you tie behind the back of your neck. The plunge is not so deep that you don't feel safe wearing it but deep enough to feel very sexy.
• The back is left completely bare and it scoops down on a beautiful curve.
• There is no horizontal seam at the waist to break the eye. If you wanted more shape you could add a belt to really cinch in the waist.
• The fabric has a touch of stretch so it is very comfortable once on the body.
• It skims over the hips and then the pants fall from there. They are extremely wide by the time they reach the floor with each one being a full 48" all the way around the hem.
• That extra wide width of each pant leg makes it look like you are wearing a dress when you are standing still but gives you the ease of a jumpsuit when you move. I love the movement this creates around your legs when you move.
• It is so sexy, so very easy to wear, and it is the perfect red.
• The jumpsuit is fully lined in the same fabric as the exterior. It ties behind the back of the neck and there is a low set zipper at the back. The fabric has some stretch and I have given the comfortable range of measurements below. It's easy fit should allow it to fit a range of body frames.

• This dress is from the early-mid 1970s.
• It was made under the creative of direction of  Hubert de Givenchy.
• In 1952 Givenchy founded his namesake house on Rue Alfred de Vigny in Paris and quickly rose to fame as one of the grand couturiers. 16 years later for the 1968-69 season, he added a ready-to-wear line of clothing and accessories called 'Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique'. The line was initially sold in the United States exclusively through Bergdorf Goodman stores and was eventually available at other retailers as well.
• The line was still high-end and the clothing very well made. He launched this line to expand his customer base and it was made to appeal specifically to his non-couture clients.
• The fabric is a beautiful light weight black silk chiffon that has two layers of the chiffon for the top and a slightly more opaque layer of silk inside the skirt. I love the slight play on transparency between the top and skirt that this gives. 
• The cut of the dress is incredible and very easy to wear.
• The neckline is a simple scoop and the shoulders are soft. The sleeves are fabulous. Each is cut to be very full so that they balloon out over their zippered cuffs. The sleeves have no lining and I love how the silk has been gathered around both sides of the zipper. 
• The cut of the bodice is meant to feel more loose and easy. It simply skims over you to the band around the waist. 
• Stacked layers of elastic have been run horizontally around the waist to add shape. The elastic there also makes it extremely comfortable and easy to fit. 
• The elastic around the waist allows you to wear it lower down so that you get the full length of the dress or you can pull the elastic as high up under the bust as you want so that the top blouses over the waist and it shortens the length of the dress.
• The skirt falls from under that and opens out slightly as it nears the floor. A shallow slit runs up one side from the hem.
• As an added detailing there are hundreds of multicoloured rhinestones that have been fused directly onto the silk chiffon. They are placed both above and below the elastic that runs around the waist and are set in vertical rows that end at different lengths to create the pattern that you see.
• As good as it looks in the photos I feel like the impact of the rhinestones is even greater in real life. It really adds an extraordinary pop of colour with all the different colours of rhinestones.
• The quality of the fabric is beautiful and the workmanship in this dress is fabulous. It really showcases just what a genius he was that he could create such a simple piece with such a masterful hand. 
• I love the play on transparency the dress has and the dress in person is even prettier than how it photoed here I think.
• The dress is fully lined except for the sleeves which are a single layer of chiffon. It closes with a back zipper and the waist has elastic. Each cuff zippers to close.
