An amazing and fabulous jumpsuit that has a sexy, easy way about it! I love the fabric - it is made of a lightly ribbed cotton feel brocade that has tiny circles self woven into the fabric from top to bottom. The fabric choice gives it a bit of extra structure allowing it to not only move well and wear well, but to hold that amazing, almost sculptural shape. This one piece jumpsuit has extremely wide pant legs, in fact until you move it appears to be a maxi dress! A nude silk chiffon is set in at the waist and acts as a sexy band that gives the illusion from afar of a crop top and wide pants. The bodice crosses and is sleeveless with a plunge front and back. I love the top placed pockets on the front of each leg - for some reason that is the detail that really makes this fabulous for me! Excellent condition!

This 1960s silk chiffon goddess dress is by a high end Toronto designer Ruth Dukas who did custom pieces for the jet set. One of her gowns currently resides as part of the permanent archives of the Royal Ontario Museum. This lovely dress is constructed of layers of bright pink silk chiffon that cascades in ties from the waist to hem. The waist is heavily beaded with a pink and silver floral design and the bodice is kept simple and sleeveless. It has an separate capelet like piece that has attached beaded cuffs that snap into place around the wrists so it forms a floating, light as air topper. The bead work is fantastic and the color is far brighter and truer in person - it is a true bright hot pink. Wonderfully finished - all meticulously by hand and just a joy of details! Excellent condition.
The dress is fully lined in a hot pink silk crepe. It closes with a side painted metal zipper and each cuff on the matching capelet/shrug closes with three hidden snaps. One shoulder opens and closes with hidden hook and eye. Hand finished. All the bead work is present. There is one smudge of a spot on the very bottom tier that does not detract.

A stunning silk kimono with one of the best prints I have seen on a kimono! It is a bright and vibrant combination of corals, tangerines, reds and shots of greens, yellows and blues. Flowers and prints cover the entire piece and it is just absolutely lovely. The silk also has a diamond look texture worked into for a little extra visual interest. The colors are so flattering to a wide variety of skin tones! The inside is lined in a red tissue silk so it feels heavenly on! It snaps to close under the front edgings which will allow you to be able to wear it as a dress or a light evening coat, or you can leave it loose or belt it. It is in excellent condition and so pretty!

I think the girl that grabs this dress is going to be so pleased. The photos really do not fully convey the beauty of the fabric or the richness of that thick band of beading at the collar. Both have an iridescent, quality that does not convey through a mere photo. The body of the dress is made of a iced pink silk, cut on a dramatic and flattering A-line. A silk flat bow sits at the base of the beaded plunge and tops the inverted triangle pleat that forms the front skirting. The neckline is of course the highlight of the dress. A full 4" has been hand beaded with glass silver toned beaded. Clustered tightly together to form one single swath of bead work that extends all the way around and behind the neck and down to the deep plunging front. These give the dress a good weight but because it is balanced perfectly around the neck it is still very comfortable to wear. Most likely a one of a kind custom piece. Excellent, looks to be unworn, condition
Bust: 20" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 17" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 22" flat across from side seam to side seam

Note that the color is a true soft pastel pink with no yellow or taupe undertone or change to the color - that is a lighting issue in the photos.
The dress is fully lined in a matching soft pink silk. It closes with a back painted metal zipper and all the inside hem is finished with pink ribbon piping. Hand finishes throughout with a hand set zipper.

A gorgeous 1960s swing coat in a spring ready wash of pastel flowers and greenery. The fabric has a gorgeous soft pastel floral pattern screened onto it with a secondary texture of florals worked directly into the fabric. This combination gives the coat an extra layer of texture and beauty. I love the rounded shoulder silhouette and the wide just past the elbow sleeves. The body of the coat is cut in an almost complete circle with an amazing 8 foot diameter bottom sweep! Huge matching fabric covered buttons anchor the front and pockets with a the same fabric detailing them sit at the front allowing you to slip your hands in. I am astounded that there is no label on this dress. If I had to guess I would say it was a piece by Geoffrey Beene - it has that same rounded hem shaped skirt and has that feel to it. It is definitely a high end piece so I suspect this is a super bargain! The dress is constructed from a cotton fabric that has a subtle quilting done to it. Over this is a charming screened cluttered apple print in a raspberry pink with black stems. The borders highlighting the edges are all done in a black cotton withe a crossed checked texture worked into the cloth. The bodice is simple with a scooped neck and high cut arm. The skirt is spectacular and extends from the waist in an exaggerated A-line and ends in those phenomenal rounded corners. Excellent condition.

I love the classic cut of this suit with it's box jacket and slim pencil skirt. And I could go on for days about the fabric! This was a custom made piece for a client that traveled to Bombay in the fifties and it is really one of the best example of silk from this period that I have seen! The skirt is a simple slightly A-line cut meant to skim over your curves and feel refined and classy. The jacket that classic fifties box cut and it has the most amazing buttons I have seen. I can only imagine the girl who had this made - how fabulous she must have been! Each button is an elaborate pointed dome, filigreed† and set with a polished turquoise stone! The print is a custom screened and a brilliant array of blues. It is simplicity mixed with extraordinary fabric. Excellent condition
This is an incredible gown that is completely covered in silver sequins, beading and rhinestones. The base of the dress is a cream cashmere knit over which ever square inch has been covered, by hand, with silver sequins, The overall effect is amazing. The knit allows it to move and be completely fluid so there is no restraint when you are wearing it. It follows every curve without being overtly tight ot garish. In addition to the heavy coverage of sequins, large, glass cut square rhinestones and silver beading make for an intricate detailing along the collar. A wider band that incorporates a floral designs circles and gives definition to the slightly empire waist. Structurally sound, there is the added detail of a waist stay that sits just under the bust to give support and to ensure the garment sits properly when worn The garment is very high quality and in excellent condition. It is the best sequin gown from this time period that I have had.

Stunning hand beaded over silk gown in a wonderful combination of lemon and a deep, rich green. The skirt of this gown is made of that perfect silk satin - the type that is astonishingly soft to the touch. The color is deep and rich. It falls to the floor from the nipped in waist with just a touch of fullness. The bodice is sleek and simple and I love the contrasting shade of pale yellow the silk was dyed to. Over this it is entirely hand beaded in silver, gold and copper beads with little pops of yellow and green, around† the front and back and on each strap. A darling flat bow sits at the small of the back for the perfect finish. Refined and elegant it is a beauty! Excellent condition. Item# E420
Everything about this dress is fabulous! I was immediately drawn to that bright, vibrant color and fabulous silk satin fabric - all the other details are just icing on the cake! A custom piece it is made of a hand dyed brilliant lime hued green and the silk satin allows for a depth and richness of color that no other fabric can quite convey. Cut almost starkly it is a A-line sheath that falls to the floor form the shoulder. It is backed in Muslin to give it a little weight but not to feel cumbersome to the wearer - this allows it to hold the almost sculptural shape better. Down the front is an elaborately beaded 3 dimensional Peacock whose feathers are highlighted by sequin work. A huge ascot/multi ended bow sits at the neckline. Insanely fabulous, hand finished and wonderfully constructed. Excellent condition.

Gorgeous early sixties maxi dress by the Royal Hawaiian company. The color is gorgeous - a bright, true blue with a custom print in white screened on to represent tropical flowers. The curve is all bombshell and vixen. Cut to follow an hourglass figure it skims over the bust, nips in at the waist and hugs the hips. A dramatic mermaid type hem flares out at the bottom and the sleeves have a similar ruffle detailing to mirror that finish. So bright and so fabulous! Excellent condition!

This is an amazing example of the work and craft that was being out into evening gowns in the fifties. This gown is a work of art and has the resulting richness and decadence to show for it. A rich, heavy silk satin in a thick cream color has been extensively detailed top to bottom. Silk cord is hand applied and embroidered to the gown. Onto that dense hand applied sequins are done in clusters to give little glints of light. Bead work adds another payer and then faux pink pearls are added here and there for the perfect finish. The neckline scoops and the back has a flattering V cut. The waist nips in and the skirt falls to the floor in a graceful arch of fabric. A paper lining backs to help hold the wonderful shape. The detailing is done top to bottom and it is a substantial piece that feels good and weighty when in the hand and yet sits comfortably when on. A rare and fabulous piece that would be suitable for the most formal occasions including a wedding! Excellent condition.

What a stunner! This is that holy grail type dress for my fifties and sixties vixens! Made by Emma An An exceptional 1950s sun dress in a lovely bright summer yellow. The fabric is very unusual - it seems to be an early synthetic - almost a nylon type fabric that has open cut work eyelets from top to bottom! The skirt is lovely and full with a built in tulle underskirt already in place to add a touch of fullness. The top is darling - I love the simple cut and the inset satin ribbon detailing with its little satin button. It is utterly gorgeous and in fabulous condition - like new! The color is slightly brighter - a truer lemon yellow than how it photoed. You also get a rich extra bit of texture due to that gorgeous eyelet fabric that is not properly conveyed in my photos either - if you love the pictures you will love it more in person! An exceptional vintage dress. Excellent condition. Item# D410
This is an amazing little dress with a micro mini length skirt and matching jacket. It is so rare to find these anymore - they where worn to death and this length was crazy popular but for a blip in time only before longer lengths prevailed once again. Because younger girls took to the micro mini craze many of the dresses were also less expensive and made of synthetics. This little beauty is bright silk and printed with a wildly mod print, The dress is sleeveless and just slightly nipped in at the waist and the skirt has a little side pleat detail with a flat bow that sits just atop it. The jacket is kept simple and sweet and is perfectly made and well constructed. It is gorgeous! Excellent condition and an iconic example of the sixties!
Beautiful pumpkin, taupe's and deep olives art feeling printed scarf weight silk dress is feather light and has that wonderful floating quality that the really well made silk chiffon gowns from this time period have. The type of silk chiffon used for this allows the color saturation to be amazing rich and true. I love the washed almost ombre effect that print has on the silk and the dimensional quality created with the solid silk under-layer. The bodice is kept simple with long sleeves that cuff at the wrist and with a flattering high neckline. The illusion of a band around the waist is actually part of the cleverly screened patter. The skirt cascades to the ground with yards of fabric in a pretty and airy way. Extremely pretty and extremely romantic while the color keeps it from being to saccharine. Excellent condition.

It presents slightly deeper in tone in real life - less of the yellow and more pumpkin and olives - the camera has brightened it. The truest color is what you can see of the fabric above the label shot.
Fully lined in a yellow-orange light silk through the skirt and soft gold colored silk through the bodice and sleeves. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each cuff has three buttons to close - one is missing on the left cuff. It appears someone let out the front seams for more room - it was well done and there is only the faintest of lines indicating the prior seams. Priced accordingly

I love these striped dresses from the late 1930s, early 1940s. They were all the rage then and have fully stood the test of time, looking chic and fresh now. The colors, the care in lining up the stripes, the fabric - all perfection! This on is really unusual as it is a full length proper evening dress. The skirt is a wonderful and dramatic A line shape - it basically cascades out from the waist and the placement of the striped add to the shape. The bodice is cut halter style with gorgeous black faceted dome buttons, each with a rhinestone at the top. The collar is large and high and the waist nips in. I love how the striping all meets at an inverted angle along the seams. The fabric is a silk taffeta with ribbons of silky rayon worked directly into the fabric. The square cut, low back is just fabulous - it is the exact right touch to finish this wonderful piece. Killer forties gown and in excellent condition. Extremely pretty and extremely bright. Excellent condition. Item# E426
Beautiful, original swing silk printed dress screened with a bright and vivid† huge floral design screened onto both sides of the dress. The color is amazingly true and bright - a really stunning piece! It is very easy to wear - it just slips on over the head and falls into place. The fabric is stunning - a high quality silk† with lots of fine seaming and flat pleat detailing. The front has a gently scooped neckline and the skirt is cut fairly lean with a soft, flattering Aline. The silk is very high grade and the contrast with the pop of color is really stunning. It has a couple of small flaws so please read the full description below. Extremely pretty and bright. Item# D416
This is an amazing little dress in a gold hued cream brocade with a matching jacket. The classic late fifties cocktail suit, it is really two outfits in one. The dress is a pretty dramatically cut A-line skirted party dress. The skirt is cut on a wide angle and has horsehair though the hem and built in tulle to give it an almost sculptural quality. The bodice is kept simple and fitted with the prettiest matte satin double straps, that meet on the top of each shoulder. Over this is a classic little jacket that does up with hidden closures so the effect is very lady-like and polished. It has a wide matte satin ribbon detail that runs around the waist - so pretty! The sleeve are short and the neckline simple. It is gorgeous! Excellent condition. Item# E428
This is a fantastic and wearable sized nylon jersey maxi dress with a wonderful screened floral print in an array of blue shades! It is made of an easy to care for fabric and drapes and wears so well! Supermodel length there are miles of fabric in this dress. A simple bodice has a scooped neckline and long skinny sleeves. There is no definition at the waist, it just flows into the long skirt that flares out as it nears its hem. This makes it very flattering as it hides all sins. Very well made. A great dress that can go from beach to market to cocktails with a simple change of shoe! Excellent condition. Item# D419
I think this might be the best forties hostess piece I have ever had. First and foremost on this dress is the spectacular fabric used - it is that wonderful crisp cotton that you only seem to get in older vintage pieces. Very finely woven and light but with a crispness to it that helps keep the shape. This is then screened with a gorgeous geometrical striping set to form little diamonds that cover the dress from top to bottom. The front zips low into the skirt at the front and a tie belt allows you to cinch in the waist as you wish. I love the simple cap sleeves and the fabric detailing at the neck. A bit of flat black ribbon highlights the inset neck that is made of the same fabric set the opposite direction. The skirt is to the floor ans wonderfully wide - there is actually yards and yards of that gorgeous fabric in there. Excellent condition and appears to have been worn little if at all. Item# D420
A gorgeous late 1970s caftan done in a feather light, textured silk-cotton mix, almost chiffon-like fabric, that has gold metallic designs embroidered onto it. The caftan is cut supermodel long and is almost weightless - really floaty and light in feel. I love the dramatic and wide panel of embroidery work on the front and across the upper back. Everywhere else are little bits of the design. The back is very full and trails behind as it is very long at the back. It gives it a romantic, exotic feeling and really makes a dramatic statement. Each sleeve is left unlined and the are cut deep and long so that they billow and drape wonderfully. Excellent condition

This is an amazing 1960s bright printed dress in a wonderful array of pink, green and tangerine with white highlights. The colors alone typify the era and the print with its wonderful bold graphics are just the cream on the top! Made of a thicker cotton, almost with a canvas feel but not as heavy or unyielding as a true canvas would be. It is just enough weight to give it structure and help hold the shape. It buttons along the front and the skirt goes right to the ground. The print around the lower hem is spectacular! The waist nips in and the bodice is scooped. The sleeves mirror the print at the hem and have a wonderful huge poufed and full effect at the full bottom 8 inches of each of them. It is just gorgeous! Excellent condition and appears to have been worn little if at all. Item# D422

This is a fantastic little dress and capelet set. Made from a light weight polished silky rayon screened in shades of dusty pinks with pale blues mixed in to create the feel of a lovely watercolor of flowers. The skirt is not too full nor too slim. The top has a faux wrap neckline and no seams at the shoulder so it sits very prettily. This gown is constructed from a silk taffeta that has a fantastic array of colors woven through the fabric - it is a more sophisticated take on the infamous multi-colored striped pieces of this era. Almost every color in the rainbow is represented in that fantastic fabric. The bodice is fitted strapless with light boning to hold it perfectly in place. I love the tiny row of tightly spaced buttons that run down the back - so much extra work and time would have been spent to add these instead of a zipper! The skirt is fantastic - full and with a built in wire around the hips to give it just a slight bit of lift and volume! A couture touch that really adds to the look of the piece. An amazing late forties, early fifties dress makes a pretty yet dramatic statement. Black silk taffeta is the base upon which a second layer of lace is applied that follows the body of the dress except for the straps and edge of the top and around the hem. All the edges of the lace are cut and left so you really see the beauty of the edges. The waist nips in and the skirt is classically full full full! I love the notched collar and low V back. To make the back even more spectacular the lace straps on either side of a row of silk covered buttons that run all down the center! The final perfect finish is the spray of hand set rhinestones that run across the front collar. It is gorgeous! Excellent condition. Item# D432
An absolutely stunning and wonderful full length silk chiffon dress that I would bet my bottom dollar was a designer piece but sadly has no label. It is so fresh and modern in feel that it could be easily mistaken as a piece from the spring runways! The main body of the dress is bias cut so will drape to confirm and skim over the wearer's shape. It has a silk chiffon exterior layer and the color is absolutely fantastic - the exact exotic blue of the a perfect turquoise stone - even better in person then how it has photoed! The skirt has a gentle A-line and the top is cut high. A 2 inch border of bead work circles the neck and goes around and down the sexily scooped back. Following the scoop of the back is a silk chiffon train that flows down past the hem. Very Grecian goddess and very sexy. It is gorgeous and has that perfect rich, jet set chic feel! The color of this gown is amazing - its not quite a yellow and its not quite a green but its more green then yellow! It is vibrant and amazing and if the color was not enough of an eye popper the amazing hand work done to the fabric just makes it amazing! This is British Crown Colony work and at the time it was the best bead and sequin work being done on the planet! The fabric is completely covered head to toe with rows of little faux pearls and zig zag bands of little silver tube beads. Various sized rhinestones set in metal prongs are scattered amongst all of that for a final bit of light catching flash. It is fitted and fabulous and follows every curve. There is nothing quite as sexy as these fantastic seventies halter dresses that pretty much leave the back bare. Everything on this one works perfectly together. Constructed from a subtly textured bark cloth, the fabric is soft and easy to wear and it allows the color screened onto it to be bright and vibrant. The actual cut of this dress is actually quite simple - the sleeveless, deep V fronted halterneck bodice skims over the bust and then nips in at the waist. The full length skirt flares out into the perfect cut A-line. But turn around and the back has been scooped away almost entirely. The bold palette used to create that wonderful floral inspired design is fantastic. Excellent condition! Item# D437
Fabulous beach to cocktails to dancing dress made in French nylon. Think high end swimsuit fabric! This fabric wears amazingly - you can literally roll it in a ball in your suitcase and wear it as soon as you arrive to where you are going! It can get wet, it won't wrinkle and its sexy as hell. A vivid tropical floral print covers ever inch. A halter style bodice sits above a high empire waistline and the skirt falls to the floor in a widening A-line. It's fabulous and in excellent condition!

This dress is a great example of that tubular, shift shaped 1960s silhouette and it is a little unusual because of the fabric. It still has its original paper tags attached inside that state that 30% of the fabric is real metal! The silver colored metal thread used and woven through it really goes it a beautiful glinting sheen and depth to the design. The colors are fabulous palette of creams, taupes and greys mixed with that silver thread. A classic shift dress sits under a zipped on outer shell. Even though we know it has metal running through it it surprisingly light and the fabric supple but with just a hint of structure to help hold that wonderful shape! Excellent condition

Simple and perfect little black dress from the fifties is the perfect basic over which you can style and change it up to suit any mood. I love the boat neck that gives the shoulders such a flattering line. Simple sleeves end at the elbow and the bodice is fitted and nips in at the waist. The seam there is pointed and the seaming through the bodice angles down into the front yoke to give the illusion of a small waistline and length.† This is mirrored at the back and the it has a sexy V exposure at the back as well. The skirt flares out and is quite full. I have put a crinoline under it so you can see the fullness, or you can wear it without! Its is very pretty and a great little dress. Excellent condition.

Love this early bohemian feel Hungarian embroidered piece that is really fabulous and quite special. You often see blouses but to see an entire dress is a much rarer thing. It is a lovely combination of red and black yarn stitching on light cotton base. The shoulder has extensive stitching so that it has a ruched and gathered feel and the embroidered patterns run in bold panels down each arm and through the dress. A second pattern in a white yarn adds a nice compliment and secondary pattern. The embroidery work looks like it is a combination of hand and machine work. The top can be worn on or off the shoulder and the skirt has three tiers all set atop one another. Its a super, unusual and pretty piece that is in great condition! Item# D440

Made from a stunning early custom screened silk, this dress is just wonderful. It appears to have never been worn, or worn very little and has been stored properly for all these years so the colors are as crisp and vibrant as the day it was made! The design is just stunning. A beautiful abstract print is screened onto the silk and the colors that have been used are really beautiful and bold! The cut is simple yet dramatic. A slim pencil skirt skims over the hips and the waist nips in and can be further cinched by the matching belt. The bodice is simple and cut slightly loose with the most fantastic round cut outs at the neckline. These scooped and rounded cut outs add a subtle sexy touch. It appears to have never

A truly amazing and fabulous early hostess gown that is perhaps one of the best I have ever had. It has the most unique and fabulous sleeves I have ever seen on a dress from this time period. They are complete and perfect circles - two circles on each arm attached around their circumference with blue piping sot that they pouf out when worn. I photoed them flat so you can see how wonderful they are! The rest of the gown is equally as fabulous. It flows to the ground and is constructed of a crisp, early cotton that has a stunning floral print screened onto it. The combination of red, white and blue is as classic as you can ask for. It wraps to close and can be worn done up the collar or open, The accompanying sash is a blue cotton and can be wrapped obi style or as a ling tie belt. It is wonderful! Museum quality, seemingly unworn condition.

Mexican wedding dresses are works of art in my opinion and this is a beauty and a rare find in pristine white! Every inch of the base fabric has been stitched into even perfect little pin tuck pleats and they each line up perfectly with each other at every seam! Can you imagine the care to do that? Separating each row of that are bands of white lace through which you get the faintest glimpse of skin. The front is cut into a low V and the wide bell lace sleeves add grace. This one has attached ties at the waist so you can conch it further if you wish. Everything about this dress is beautiful and it is unremarkable, seemingly unworn condition!

In person this dress literally glows as if lit from within. The effect of the gold thread worked through the kitten soft chenille velvet it breathtaking. This piece is†surprisingly light, far lighter then you would think at first glance because the base is a silk chiffon that allows it stunning drape and airiness. Pinks in various shades of the softest possible glossed chenille are applied onto the silk chiffon and then eyelash gold lame worked in between. This makes the entire dress sparkle and glimmer with every movement of the wearer and the effect if beautiful. The cut† is simple so that the fabric can take center stage.† A high neck and simple bodice are balance by long sleeves and a skirt that cascades to the floor. This is surely a piece by a designer as the quality and attention to detail are all there but since there is no tag it will forever be a mystery! It is a beautiful, dramatic piece and in excellent condition. Item# E439
You can see the transition from the twenties flapper silhouette to the more fitted forties in this lovely dress. It is still cut loose through the waist but the waist seam is there and placed higher then its predecessors. The base is a silk crepe in black and onto this is a amazing swirled design in glossy black sequins. These cover the entire dress, back and front, top to bottom. The skirt is cut lean with a looser waist. The bodice is simple and cut slightly loose with a scooped neck and has been left sleeveless. Excellent condition and gorgeous!

I have had this tucked away forever! It is an amazing piece whose fabric was entirely hand-loomed! This is even more astonishing when you realize that the skirt is pieced together in panels and at each seam the chevron stripes line up perfectly. So this dress had to be meticulously planned out prior to its final construction to make that happen! It is made of a nubby, textured wool with a touch of nylon in the mix so it has some strength and hols its shape. The sleeves are long and lean and it wraps to close allowing the wearer to have as much of a plunge as she wished. The top is a basic black so very flattering. I love the edging that brings the color of the skirt to the top. The skirt is just amazing - there are yards of that hand loomed knit and it is long, long, long! It really is one of my most favorite knit piece I have ever had! A superb little piece and in great condition!

Fantastic silk taffeta party dress straight from the era that defined the cocktail party! This is wonderful and beautifully constructed piece made from a high grade silk taffeta in a deep deep pink with a washed floral screened pattern over it. The neckline is quite beautiful with a square cut whose corners are caught up in pretty silk rosettes made of the same fabric. I love how the shoulders are rounded and they swoop over each shoulder in soft pleats to be caught up in the corners of that neckline - its a delicate, feminine touch! The skirt is quite fitted and is cut long and lean with subtle flat pleats that allow the wearer to be able to move despite its strict seeming cut. The entire piece has the sculptural feel of the Balenciaga pieces of the day! No label but it has the feel of a high end piece. Excellent condition!

Bodice: 15" from shoulder to top of elastic at the waist Skirt: 27" from waist to hem
Unlined and closes at the side with a hidden zipper that looks like a replacement of the original but was extremely well done. The original belt is present and from the front looks perfect but the backing has cracked and shows wear and some parts are missing. This of course does not show when on and is mentioned for accuracy only. There are two small pinholes under one arm that I had a stitch put into to secure and make stable and a tiny bit of wear to the fabric at the top back of the seam at the neck. Priced accordingly. High end construction and surely a custom or designer piece.

This is a great example of the hostess dress from the 1960s and the way small designers where taking fabric and using it for maximum effect. The fabric is a swirl of psychedelic pattern in pinks and purples and grounded by deep blues. Parts of the edges of the pattern are highlighted with different colored beads and also rows of pink sequins. It is very subtle but give the dress a touch of glimmer. The main part of the dress is cut with a loose fitting waist with a long skirt that falls to the floor with just the slightest of A-line as it nears the hem. The front plunges and the fabric is gathered and sewn into place by hand. The back is quite amazing with fabric that swoops down cape-like over the shoulders so when you move you get lots of movement and drama! Excellent condition
Bust: 18-18.5" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 15" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 19" flat across from side seam to side seam of the lining
Bodice: 11" from shoulder to waist
Length: 45" from waist to hem
Fully lined in a pink silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. There are hidden snaps that close the chiffon cape down the center part of the back. There are some parts of the beads here and there that maybe missing but nowhere is jarringly apparent.

Amazing and unusual black silk wool crepe dress that is cut on the bias and fits fantastically when on and has a remarkable fringe detailing on the skirt! The dress itself is cut simply - a long lean skirt with just the slightest of an A-line cut to it. It nips in at the waist and the bodice is simple with a slight V neckline and a faux wrap effect that is caught up along one side. Each shoulder is gathered at the top and it has short cap sleeves. But to this simple dress they have added the most remarkable panels of silk cord fringe in asymmetrical panels so when you move they swing and move with you! The slanted application of these also helps to add length and curves to your figure! Excellent condition.

Bust: 16-18" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 12-13" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 18" flat across from side seam to side seam

Unlined and closes with a side unpainted metal zipper and a second small metal zipper at the back of the neck. The top inside bodice has a partial lining of that is a net fabric. This has some small pinholes here and there but is sound and of course does not show when on. It is original to the dress so has been left as found

What a glorious 1940s swing dress! Made out of a black silk crepe that drapes wonderfully when on. It has that touch of thirties influence still with a slightly wider cut through the bodice and looser drape which makes it very flattering. The skirt is long and lean with a flat pleat detail high on one hip to give the suggestion of a swag and also to add to the illusion of a nipped in wast. Of course the showstopper on this dress is that spectacular flower that runs across the bodice and is done completely with hand applied sequins in greens, pinks ands silvers. The design is spectacular! This dress is everything you want in a 1940s piece and is a real jaw dropper. Excellent condition. Item# D449
