1980s One Shoulder Silk Valentino Gown

Straight from mega bloggers Judy & Jane's closets come this fantastic and rare Valentino gown! Its early eighties and a confection of vivid color and gorgeous fabrics! The dramatic, full length silk taffeta skirt has been done in classic Valentino red. It has tons of fullness but not so much that you get heaviness and pleating when worn - just enough to hold the fullness and yet not be over powering. The bodice is a masterpiece. Screened silk is hand draped into tiny soft pleats so the entire bodice is gathered. Little stitches run in vertical rows to hold it perfectly in place. Over one shoulder a swatch of silk drapes and you can have it sit as shown, or unfold it for more fabric or roll it for less. I love that he put an underskirt whose finish is a panel of fabric that matches the bodice - you only see it when you move or sit and when you do - wow! Its in perfect condition and a real collectible!

Dropped Waist/Hip Seam: 19" flat across from side seam to side seam where bodice attaches to skirt

Bodice: 20" from top of bodice to dropped waist seam
Skirt: 33" from the drop waist seam to bottom hem

The gown is fully lined in semi sheer silk crepe through the bodice and then has a layer of netting through the skirt. The edge of the netting has a panel of fabric with the same print as the bodice.
