This is an absolute stunning silk chiffon dress from Chanel. Truly one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen from Chanel this is a nod to the Grecian Goddess with that fantastic Chanel touch. Made of a customs screened, feather light, fine silk chiffon that is done in flattering purple hues. The fabric is draped and gathered perfectly to create that gorgeous and feminine silhouette. Fully lined to just below the hip the lower skirt flows in a semi-sheer cascade of fabric to it asymmetrical point. This gives just a glimpse of the shape of the leg and is very sexy. A panel draped over on hip and another on the opposite side wraps over the shoulder in soft folds. It gives the wearer a lovely curved, soft effect and is the perfect mix of sexy and elegance. I love the little screened double C's worked into the fabric - just† in case there was any doubt you are wearing Chanel of course! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Beautiful and quite amazing brocade caftan feel hostess gown by Oscar de La Renta in the sixties. The fabric is quite exceptional with a wonderful weave that forms the horizontal lines. The colors each have a touch of metallic to them and it is just heavy enough to hold that sweeping shape as it nears the hem but still feel very light on. Each cuff is ringed with a light mink and is the perfect lush touch. It is super model long and I love how it flows from the bust and widens as it falls to the floor! The high neck is highlighted by a tightly spaced row of fabric covered decorative buttons! Stunning! Excellent condition!

What a gorgeous silk chiffon print dress from Hanae Mori! Beautiful deep blues have her signature floral design printed across it. The blooms are done in lighter hues of blue and are utterly sublime against the deep blue backdrop. It wraps and hooks to close and it still has its original silk chiffon sash to further cinch and define the waist The sleeves are quite full and done deliberately so as each has a fantastic sequin detail! Each sleeve has the fabric placed so that the huge blooms are shown to their best advantage. Onto that are densely placed, hand sewn sequins so that the design is both highlighted and made even more beautiful! It feels easy to wear and extremely decadent at the same time and is a stunning example of her work! Excellent condition.

This is an amazing couture Halston three piece set that is absolutely divine! It is entirely cut on the bias with minimal seaming as was his signature style. The color is a hand dyed, deep forest green that is infinitely flattering on most skin tones and works as a beautiful alternative to black. Halston defined how woman dressed n the 1970s and his cut both flattered the body and was insanely sexy but they also are amazingly comfortable to wear. This set is no exception. It is feather light and you are barely conscious of wearing anything! The inner dress is suspended by two tiny straps of nude chiffon so at first glance it seems that it hangs by magic under the outer layer. The outer layer is fantastic with huge angled sleeves that drape almost to the ground and a angled hem that dips lower on each side. The sash can be worn at the waist or even wrapped turban style or at the neck. If left united it has a more caftan like feel. I styled it with the keyhole to the front but this can also be worn to the back. It is amazing and a fine example of Halston at his best! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition

I love color and the design, the color, the workmanship - everything about this dress is perfect and wonderful! The fabric is a almost sheer finely woven silk gazar that has a hand screened, floral print. It is amazing! Once you get past the sheer brilliance of the color and print you begin to notice the workmanship that has gone into constructing this. A full inner dress is built with the semi sheer overlay over it. I love the bit of dimension this gives to the dress and the way it is entirely covered and yet still has an innocent sexiness to it. The collar is high and the sleeves are quite full. The fabric has just a touch of starchiness to it so holds the full shape seen in the sleeves and the cut off the skirt. Really a work of art and feels very fresh and today when you think of the current runways and what we have seen. Mint condition!

This is a spectacular little jacket that is most likely late fifties and would have been the equivalent of numbered ready to wear at the time - demi couture if you will! Made of a grey silk tweed appearing fabric that has wonderful black braiding detailing. It has a simple box cut and all the extra details you look for in a very very high end piece - the buttons are hidden so when closed it lies perfectly and no visual break. The pockets at the front are small and subtle but each is a true albeit shallow pocket. And along the inside hem are weights so it sits exactly so! A special little jacket and a wonderful piece! Note that it is almost too small for my size 6 Judy - on the proper size girl it will sit perfectly with no buckle to the fabric near the neck as it does now. Excellent condition.

Waist: 17" flat across the back from side seam to side seam

I know I tend to list a of high visual impact pieces but sometimes the subtle pieces are just as fantastic! This Dior dress is form the Marc Bohan era and it is really a fabulous and chic day piece. Constructed of a light weight grey wool is is deceptively simple at first glance - just a simple A-line, high necked day shift. However upon closer inspection you must appreciate the remarkable seaming that creates that funnel like neck and adds an almost smock like feel to the front. I love how the neckline is a made of precise seams all slanted slightly to narrow the fabric to encircle the neck. The addition of the tie belt that is finished in wool yarn pom poms is just the type of couture feeling details one would expect form a house like Dior! Excellent condition!

This is an absolutely incredible couture caftan that was custom made in 1967 and was photographed for Harpers Bazaar. The estate that this came from was said to be from a former model so it may indeed be the exact same caftan! Note that because it was a custom piece it has no label! The workmanship and detail is remarkable. It is very heavy - the interior silk taffeta and velvet exterior combined with that silver metal braiding and huge glass rhinestones all add up in weight. However once on it settles into place and is not unwieldy to wear at all! The crushed velvet adds a remarkable texture and I love the shade of blue - it feels like an exotic Mediterranean sea. The braiding used around the cuffs, front and hem is a metal thread and is set in big angled braided curves - this really gives it a rich and regal feel. Silver cording is hand set and acts as frames to the huge glass crystal rhinestones. The rhinestones on this are incredible and each is prong set into place. They encrust the front, hem and each cuff and cast a glow against the blue backdrop. I love how each arm widens as it nears the cuffs and ends in a slight point. The hem also widens. The effect is rich, regal and is a testament at the level of skill a custom piece from George Halley can have. It is truly unique and fabulous! Excellent condition

Waist: to 24" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 29" flat across from side seam to side seam
Length: 58" from neck to bottom hem
Fully lined in a iridescent blue silk taffeta and closes with a front painted metal zipper and a hook & eye at the bust. There are couple of rhinestone missing on the sleeves that you do not notice are not there at all and one on the front. If you wish I can switch out the front one with another before shipping - just add a note when buying. Slight breaks to the silver thread braid edging that are a natural occurrence for that type of fabric. Faint watermark near bottom and some very faint, small discolorations on one side. All of these are inconsequential to the piece and due to the way the fabric bounces the light and the abundance of the detailing none detract at all when worn. In fact the slight feel of patina add to the piece in my opinion!
Modern Sizing equivalent: XS-SML-MED as long as the shoulders fit the rest is very flexible. Do remember though that because of the detailing at the hem it cannot be shortened.

This is from the special and limited collection from the 2005 produced specifically for the 2005 Zandra Rhodes: A Lifelong Love Affair with Textiles: Retrospective of Zandra Rhodes work that was shown at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London. It is an incredible display of her talents on print and textile and draws back on her greatest designs. A "butterfly" caftan is is almost weightless and done in a vibrant, deep hued pink silk chiffon. Pretty blossoms splay across its surface. I love the deep front and back with its ties in piped matching fabric. The arm and hem are a curved and cut deep scalloped finish giving the piece an extra feel of airiness and floating. Very beautiful, very collectible and rare and it was never worn so is in perfect condition!

This is a dress by Halston that to me sums up perfectly what makes Halston so wonderful and still valued today as one of the most sought after labels on the planet. The couture Halston day dress is the very definition of simplicity however the cut is genius and that dramatic plunge is just sexy as hell! The skirt has a surprising amount of fabric in it but is cut to lie fairly straight and the top is cut simple and loose. Candy colored stripes run across the fabric and when taken against the bright and sunny yellow they are the perfect contrast! One just feel happy when you look at this dress! The belt is a solid striped wide grosgrain ribbon in the same bright and beautiful colored hues! Depending on how it sits on you, you could potentially wear it the other way around or go seventies style and wear a bandeau if you require more modesty! Exceptional and rare. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition!

A museum quality, amazing 1970s silk chiffon iconic and instantly recognizable caftan by Hanae Mori. This is everything you look for in a Hanae piece. It has her spectacular custom designed floral print on feather light silk chiffon. The cut has that draped, goddess, flowing feel to it that collectors crave when they look for the best of Hanae's pieces. This is couture on the highest level with everything about the piece done to work with the rest. The inner sheath is made of layers of silk with the custom screened silk chiffon on the exterior. Over this a floating panel of chiffon sits attached across the shoulders with tiny flat knife pleats - so difficult to execute perfectly with this type of fabric. Huge "sleeves" are cut into the sides and go right to the floor. An amazing, once in a life-time find! Excellent, condition

This 1972 dress is the red version of the one peeking above Halston's shoulder in the picture included in this listing. I doubt many in this particular color were made - this one as a special order - along the seam of the skirt there is a Bergdorf Goodman's tag with the client information. These long silk knit shirt dresses were a Halston staple and were designed for that chic modern woman to wear while entertaining at home or in an intimate setting. The wearer was able to move and be superbly comfortable, never worrying about getting wrinkled or being inappropriate or uncomfortable. But because of their body hugging fabric and buttons set close to the edge of the seam they are insanely sexy and suggest that with a few quick movement the wearer could be standing with her dress puddles at the floor! Really these were his signature piece and every chic woman had to have one. It was meant to be a maxi dress and works wonderfully as that as well but buy knowing you could also use it as a light layering coat as it does unbutton all the way open! The deep garnet color is amazing and flattering to most skin tones. The original finished tie belt is still present and the entire inside is all hand work! Versatile and beautiful, it is an amazing and rare piece of fashion history and in excellent condition.
Unlined and buttons down the front to close and then ties with the matching sash. All original buttons. Each cuff has two buttons to close. Hand finished. There are two dots on the front right side and some very faint marks on the sleeve. Very minor but of course must be mentioned. Priced accordingly and I do not feel that they detract from this rare and killer piece.

This very beautiful, perfectly cut, numbered couture suit from Courreges! Courreges spent 11 years as a cutter for Balenciaga before starting his own label and that high standard of tailoring shows in this garment. The fabric is that classic Courreges - it is a good weight and slightly textured and is one shade off of white. That slight texture and absolutely superb seaming are all that is needed to highlight the cut and signature chunky zippers that are on both the jacket and skirt. The skirt is A-line and has two decorative snap embellished pockets just below the waist. The jacket zips and has fantastic seaming on both the front and the back! Extremely collectible and rare and is entirely hand finished! Both the skirt and the jacket have numbered couture labels. Excellent, museum quality condition.
Both pieces are fully lined in a hand set white silky rayon. Both the skirt and jacket close with a front chunky silver metal zipper at the waist. The jacket also has silver snaps on the waist, each cuff and the neck. This barely fit my mannequin so will sit a bit better on the proper sized girl

From the Pret-A-Porter line this early 1960s dress is a chic sheath of black velvet with a surprising lace detailing! The cut is simple and stark with a high rounded neck line that has been left unadorned. The velvet is cut to fall to just at the ankle and has no horizontal waist seam to break the line - it is a single drape of fabric whose shape ix created by long vertical seaming. A small slit is on one side of the hem. The sleeves are cut straight and long and explode into a full circle cuff. Each of these spectacular cuffs are then fitted with a circle of white lace - I photoed the lace in its full circle so you can see. On a real girl when she is moving the effect caused by the sudden flash of white lace is startling and dramatic! Excellent condition

Fully lined in handset black tissue silk through the body and the sleeves are unlined. It closes with a hidden, hand set back zipper. Each sleeve has a full circle of lace hand set into the cuff. This is an extraordinary find! It is a stunning piece of Valentino that is entirely hand finished and in perfect condition. This is an absolutely amazing and very rare, early piece from Pierre Cardin. Though perhaps not the typical graphic piece one has in mind for Cardin, it is both subtly and strikingly beautiful. The textile itself is just beyond amazing - it is hand woven silk and the high quality and beauty of the design is breathtaking. The palette is a deep mustard with soft pops of color. The shape is wonderful - an inner shift dress with an A-line cut is covered with an outer "tabard" that falls from the shoulders creating an overlay on the front and back. Each side is attached with a small piped cord, one of which ties. It is a beautiful re-interpretation of a 1920s piece that is completely and utterly sixties. A rare find and a sound investment piece! These early label Cardin Creation pieces came straight out of the Cardin Atelier and were bound for the US market. Later versions of this label are licensed pieces and were mass produced. Excellent, seemingly unworn condition.

This amazing gown only gets better as you get nearer and see the many details that have been added to the bodice. It is entirely hand finished and meticulously crafted. The fabric is a panne silk velvet that is insanely smooth to the touch. It also give the gown a sleek finish that catches and bounces the light beautifully and I love the contrast between the light and dark. The bodice is especially wonderful - it is covered in swirls of varying sized pearls set amongst big glass crystals! The sleeves are long and lean and the bodice has a reverse curve under the bust for a bit of definition. The skirt flows towards the floor in a sleek column. It has a delicious regal feel to it and I love the fabric and all the special touches. Excellent condition

Fully lined in handset blue tissue silk through the body and sleeves. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each sleeve has a small painted metal zipper set into the cuff. Note that some areas of the off white print in the velvet has darkened particularly on the one sleeve that is photoed. It is perhaps a shade and a half darker. It is even and because of the sheen of the velvet when it is on it appears to be a trick of the light. It is there and it is sold as such and I have reduced the price dramatically to accommodate for this small imperfection. Hand finished and all the bead and pearl work is hand set.

This is classic Yves and it is so subtle in some way and yet manages to be completely sensual and beautiful at the same time. It is made of the lightest, softest silk jersey - perhaps the finest that i have ever come across from any designer yet! The white backdrop is screened with a lovely deep navy print that manages to feel darker the farther away you are and yet changes the focus to the white the closer you get. It is incredibly simple and all the detailing is achieved through elastic - a full 13" panel through the torso and over the hip is done in an elastic so that the dress hugs your every curve like a second skin. To work on this fine a fabric with that technique is almost impossible! The skirt flows out from under the panel to the floor and the top is cut soft and gypsy like with shoulders that can be worn as shown or slightly off the shoulder. It weighs ounces and as lovely as it appears on the hanger once in a body it transforms! Excellent, appears unworn condition

I recently was given access to an amazing collection of vintage with yet another long time collector and am excited to be able to share some amazing pieces with you! This beauty is a real rarity and not a label you come across every day. Madeleine De Rauch was a Paris couturier from 1932-1973 and was renowned for her fluid evening pieces and sporty, but fabulous day and cocktail wear. This piece is an early 1960s example of her work and is quite stunning. A cream silk brocade has gold thread worked through it to create a subtle puff effect and shimmer. It is cut in the perfect "nod" style of the day and still looks fresh and appealing now. The neckline is high with a darling notched and pointed collar. The waist nips in and the skirt flares out in an almost sculpted feel A-line. I love the double row of big, bold flat gold toned buttons that detail the front skirt. Each sleeve has the same button set French cuff style and each sleeve mimics that perfect A-line shape and widens as it nears its end! A really lovely, rare and wonderful item! Excellent condition!

This is an absolutely amazing and very rare, early hand made piece from Nina Ricci that is strikingly beautiful and a testament to the hand work that was being produced in this time period. Beyond amazing and literally breathtaking. The palette is a nude with soft pops of gold and pale tawny pinks. The shape is wonderful - an inner shift dress with an A-line cut is covered with an outer† fine silk net layer that is unlined through the upper bodice and shoulders giving it a subtle sexiness. The entire over lay is covered in a little deconstructed patches of gold lame with flat gold embellishments, beads and sequins hand sewn to cover every inch. The neckline and upper shoulders are detailed with rows of tightly spaced bead-work. It is a beautiful and rare garment that is completely and utterly museum worthy. A rare find and a sound investment piece! Excellent condition.

You do find these amazing Malcolm Starr skirts once in a while if you are lucky, but it is very rare to find the entire set! In 1971, Malcolm Starr was headed by Egyptian designer Rizkallah. He designed two of the most memorable collections that have become cult favorites - the Circus theme and the Caspian Sea theme. This set is from the Caspian Sea collection! The collection was based around bold paisleys and the "soft, swinging dresses of the European influence". The skirt has an exotic feel and is embellished with gold braid and gold covered plastic strips. Paisley and black velvet are used to make the design and are striking against the off-white backdrop. I love the bold pop of tangerine as well! The top is simple with a high ruffled neck and cuffs. It is a semi-sheer black chiffon and the lightness of the fabric is the perfect contrast to the bold skirt. Very chic and in excellent condition.

The top is unlined and closes with a back painted zipper and hook & eye at the neck. Each cuff snaps to close with a fabric covered hidden snap. The skirt is fully lined in a white silky rayon and closes with a hidden set zipper and three large flat hook & eye at the waist.Very slight wear the gold on the skirt there and there but this is natural patina from age and should not be considered a flaw.

Jacques Tiffeau examples can be found in The Metropolitan Museum archives and this particular dress is as good as those examples (if not better) Jacques only designed for a few years in the 60s under his own label and was a bit of a fashion bad boy. He was a gossip, had torrid love affairs with some of the greatest designers of the time (he was at one point the lover of Monsieur Dior!). His pieces are rare and many of them can be a little dowdy, but when you luck out and find a fabulous little cocktail dress or gown by him - well you have something special. This is just such a piece and is made from a light weight silk organza through which gold metallic thread is worked. This gives the dress a subtle shimmer that I love. The bodice is simple and fitted with w V cut neckline. The skirt has the perfect amount of fullness and it still has its original fabric belt!. Well made and in excellent, seemingly unworn condition.

From the same estate as the cream Norell I have in the shop, this black silk version is the epitome of chic. It was custom made and has a numbered tag inside denoting its status and order information. The finish is incredible and it is very well tailored, beautifully constructed and made from the best possible silk that you could acquire. Every line is a study in thought and detailing. The neck is high with a pointed collar that sits atop a band so the height is even more exaggerated. The bodice blouses over the torso and the sleeves are full and balloon to to a three button cuff. This gives the effect of the waist being nipped in and the wide glossy black belt creates a dramatic statement and give the illusion of the tiniest possible waist. The skirt has an immense amount of fabric and yet it sits perfectly without adding bulk. His signature hand set deep hem is done invisibly on this one but the weight of that deep hem acts as a design element in keeping the skirt in perfect drapes. Really one of the best Norell day pieces I have ever seen. Very chic, very rare and in excellent condition.

Constructed of two layers of the same exterior silk through the bodice and skirt with the sleeves a single layer. It closes with the front fabric covered buttons, hook & eye at the waist and hidden snaps under the waist line. Each cuff closes with three fabric covered buttons. The belt is attached to the dress at each side and stamped Norman Norell on the back. Hand finished and the silk is of extremely high quality and a very luxurious weight.

Incredible and very rare and important 1977 Haute Couture Emanuel Ungaro set. Constructed of a beautiful and very high quality silk that drapes and flows beautifully. This fabric choice allowed Ungaro to use the brightest mist vivid colors, which he did to the extreme. Brilliant primaries are mixed masterfully.
The top is a long tunic style with wide kimono sleeves that are banded in black and red. The front plunges to the waist and is wired inside so that it stays perfectly in place. The tunic wraps and snaps to close under the band at the waist. Its skirt is open full down each side and screened with that brilliant design on both sides. It has its original vivid yellow silk skirt that sits underneath and the side openings of the tunic allow for the flash of color. Unlined but beautifully finished inside as one would expect. Top is labeled and has a numbered tape under it.
As brilliant as the photos are it does not do the set justice!

A chic hostess tunic and cigarette pant set was what the fashionable hostess would wear at night and this is a fabulous example. By Balmain this couture set is constructed from a silk brocade that has a puffed 3D effect. A muted gold catches the light and has interesting texture. The pants are cut flat fronted and low with a tapered cigarette leg. They close with a back hidden zipper and hook & eye at the waist. The tunic is cit quite boxy as was the fashion. it has a bottom at the neck and hidden zippers on each cuff and on the side. Little vents sit on each hip. Lightly padded shoulders and shockingly light weight, unlined fabric means maximum comfort - almost like wearing a pajama set! Incredible and in excellent condition.

From the era when Yves was doing in your face sexuality. This is a definite piece that either you will have to be shockingly brave or find something fabulous to wear under it as the front literally plunges to the waist! It wraps and closes with hidden flat hook & eye, with the wrap effect adding to the overt sexuality of the dress. The upper arms are cut wide as was Yves signature cut in this period. A band emphasizes the waist. No flaws. A version of this dress in red was used for the 1985 ad campaign for Saint Laurent! Excellent condition

A rare and stunning Thea Porter that is a little unusual in it's cut and has a very Victorian feel! I love that it has the feel of her caftans through the body but its topped by that attached cape that drapes so beautifully over the shoulders! Yards of almost weightless, flowing printed Indian cotton were used and deliberately left unlined so you get this easy draping effect that is very sexy despite it fully covering the body. It is cut with a slim upper bodice and then flows to the floor in a full skirted cascade. The neck is high and the sleeves are full above each wrist! Thea was known to hunt antique stores and markets in far off places around the globe and you can see the inspiration of an earlier time in this piece. A very special piece, very rare and very collectible. Thea Porter only did this one 1971 RTW collection in her time as a designer and this is a piece for that single collection! Excellent, museum quality condition

Rare and stunning lemon yellow wrap Halston dress that is featured in the Halston book. Features his signature simplicity , it simply wraps and hooks into place. One of the most elusive of all of the Ossie Clark pieces, this gown shot up the most wanted list and was made even more coveted when Emma Watson wore a version of it on the red carpet a couple of years back. This one is in a solid yellow silk crepe. The front plunges almost indecently and it wraps into place. The skirt has yards and yards of fabric with panels of pleating running along either side. Supermodel length and one of the most beautiful dresses ever created!

Stunning and documented by the original sketch of this showing that it was conceived in 1983! I love that the sketch also shows that in 1983 the embellished version (that is this one) sold for a whopping $975 even then! Made of a striped silk satin chiffon it is cut on the bias and drapes over one shoulder. Each stripe is highlighted with a row of clear sequins giving the dress a subtle gleam. The shoulder has a silver sequin detailing as well!
Lined in nude jersey. Closes with a side painted metal zipper. Perhaps the occasional missing sequin but nothing that detracts.

Whenever I have a piece of true Haute Couture pass through my hands, it is a treat. I find the best couture pieces go one of two ways - completely over the top or so subtly perfect that they are mind boggling when you start to look at each small detail. This is obviously the latter and every line and stitch is impeccable. Hand finishes and properly done inside and out to the last detail. A soft grey wool is shaped to a swinging sixties A-line with rounded shoulders and a high neckline. Stunning and in excellent condition. Bold slant set pockets adorn the front. The back is seamed and has three buttons matched perfectly to the tone of the dress. It is a teeny bit too small on the mannequin so on the proper sized girl will sit across the front perfectly. Amazing and in excellent condition
Lined in cream silk organza. Closes with buttons and a fine metal zipper. I find one pinhole size nick on the back of one sleeve that is stable and does not detract. Ribbon tag under label with hand written couture number.

This is an excellent and rare example of Philippe Venet work. A fine wool is woven into a subtle herringbone pattern in a soft green. I love the princess cut full skirt and how the sleeves each have a slight pouf above the deep cuffs. Front flap pockets and high neck mix in a slight military feel. Retains its original suede belt that is numbered on the back suggesting a custom or special order. Venet worked under both Elsa Schiaparelli and Givenchy and was especially known for his beautiful tailored coats! Stunning and in excellent condition.
Lined in green silk with hand finishes. Closes with buttons and hidden, fabric covered snaps. Proper finished buttonholes. Hidden pockets along front seams. Note that the belt shows some separation from the back leather backing where the glue has let go but presents perfectly from the front.

This is an incredible Nina Ricco Haute Boutique gown that would have been demi-couture, made to order on request. It is a silk organza that has a beautiful dot pattern. Typical of the seventies it is cut with a definitive nod tot he past and has a turn if the century feel mixed with a bit of bohemian glamour. The shoulders puff and have feminine little ties at each ruffled cuff and atop each shoulder. An elastic sits inside the neckline so you can wear it on or off shoulder. Another pretty and delicate bow sits at the neck. The entire bodice is covered with a scattering is stacked sequins topped with a bead. These extend down over the hips. The skirt is full and flows to the floor! Just gorgeous and fantastically made! Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a white silk net. Closes with a back painted zipper and has a waist stay inside that closes with a hook & eye. Light boning at either side of the bodice. The skirt has a second inner layer of silk that has a horsehair ribbon edging at its bottom. The bow at the back is tacked on at one side and snaps into place over the zipper. Its an easy remove if you are not a bow girl!

Stunning 1970s Hanae Mori caftan maxi dress done in a feather light silk chiffon screened with vivid shades of pink in an exaggerated floral design. The gown is cut super model long and is constructed of two layers of almost weightless silk. The dress has a delicate, romantic feeling and is a stunning combination of fabric and color fabric. It has a slit on one leg to break the length of all that silk and each sleeve is left unlined and billows delicately in an almost cape like way. The sleeves each have an immense amount of fabric and are so pretty in person! You can wear this straight and narrow as shown or add a pretty belt to give it more shape. Hanae is the only woman of Japanese descent to have presented on the Paris and New York Runways and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official haute couture house. You can see why in this stunning and romantic example of her work. Excellent condition.

Exceptional and rare Haute Couture day ensemble from the Valentino Atelier is something special indeed! A simple cut silk dress and the matching top stitched jacket have numerous couture details that as you inspect each piece more closely become apparent. The dress has a simple scoop neck and long sleeves. Each sleeve ends in a tight cuff accented by thick hand carved MOP buttons. This allows the sleeve to pouf up above the cuff for a pretty feminine detail. The waist nips in and then the skirt is given volume by panels of silk inset with triangles of solid navy silk. Each panel is individually cut and pieced so for all the simplicity of the front he interior is a masterpiece! The jacket is a solid blue with stark white top stitching - a Valentino signature! I love the rounded collar and then way the belt slips through the design element at the front - this allows the wearer to choose to wear a belt or not and it does not break the design. Two belts are included - the dotted one you see and a solid blue one. This gives the wearer a multitude of options on how to style it. All pieces are marked clearly with the Valentino house model number 150. Excellent condition and an exceptional example of Valentino Couture!!
The jacket is fully lined in handset, very high quality silk, even the top set pockets are lined in this silk! All couture construction and it closes with very thick MOP buttons. The buttons an the cuff are decorative yet the buttonholes are still properly finished and constructed behind them! The dress is lined with silk and silk organza and that skirt is completely piece together by individual panels! Hand set, fine metal zipper at the back and MOP buttons on each cuff. There are two belts - the dotted one and a plain blue one (not pictured. Each belt's buckles shows war on the back but present well front he front. All 4 pieces are marked with the Valentino Haute Couture Model number 150.

I adore this Hanae Mori! Made of feather light silk chiffon that has been custom screened with one of her beautiful prints. Line in silk so it is sensual feeling when on. The mix of purples, pinks and black is pure Hanae and it has her signature large blooms. The neck is high and the sleeves are cut quite wide. Both the neck and sleeves are edged in a fine black lace that is scalloped along its edge. The tie belt cinches the waist and the skirt flows to the floor in a perfect soft flowing column of silk. Excellent condition!

I love this 1970s Chanel Creations maxi dress! the colors are absolutely sublime - it is a delicate and feminine mix of deep pinks, turquoises and azure blues. The fabric chosen is a silk satin so it gives the floral print a bit of a sheen and a stunning overall effect. The bodice is simple and cut with long sleeves and a skimming cut. The waist nips in with the tie belt and then the skirt flows to the floor where it is anchored by a wide swath of black silk satin ribbon that circles the hem. Amazing finishes and the fabric is of the very highest quality! I love it! Excellent condition!

Rocco Barocco is a famous Italian designer that is still designing today under the RoccoBarocco label. That is his second line however, with his first foray into fashion executed under the more simple Barocco label of which this dress is from. This label only existed from 1968 to 1974 and pieces were extremely high end and well made, demi-couture RTW really! This is a stunning day dress that has a hint of what Valentino is doing now. A fine ribbon weave silk has stripes and dots woven into the fabric. The cut is very chic and simple and I love the silk satin shoulder inset. The front pockets are decorative but add a gorgeous little detail. The neck has two long attached silk satin ties that I have styled wrapped around the neck. You can also do a huge bow or just tie once and let them hang. Love the rhinestone topped buttons! Feminine and gorgeous! Excellent, appears to have never been worn condition!
Rhinestone set buttons are decorative - it actually closes with fabric covered hidden snaps down the front and at each cuff. A silk satin tie is attached at the neck. Fully lined in silk except for the sleeves. The construction is to couture level finish.

Carosa di Roma was a made to measure demi-couture atelier in Pazza di Spagna, Rome established in 1947 by Princess Giovanna Caracciolo Ginetti and her friend Barbara Angelini Desalles. The were of noble birth and catered specifically to others in their class. Her pieces are exquisite and made to the standards of couture. Balenciaga and Roman Baroque were her influences and one can see that this particular dress was a definite nod to the Balenciaga Atelier. It is almost sever in its cut and structure. The skirt is very full and the top has wide cut sleeves that narrow to the off-white cuff detailing. I adore the front stripe detail created by stitching. It is very well made and every detail is exquisite to the clever way the collar snaps into place to the wide silk bow that sits at the neck. Really extraordinary! Pieces like this are why woman get addicted to vintage! Chosen by our guest editor for June, uber blogger Anita Clarke of the I Want, I Got blog who loved the lady like elegance combined with the fine workmanship! Excellent, appears unworn condition

Wonderful Jaque Fath label dress that really is a spin on the archives. The Fath label was re-launched in the 1990s and it did a good job of staying true to the archives but with a nineties twist. Fath especially loved pleat work and you can see that influence here with the fabric choice. The dress has a saloon girl sexiness to it and to be honest at first glace it looks like an older Fath piece! Love the deep dipping back and the high neck front. It has a white collar that attaches with hidden snaps - you can style it with or without this piece! White ribbon piping give it length and the ruffle peeking out from under the skirt is divine! Excellent, appears unworn condition!
Fully lined in a deep blue silk. that is hand set There is elastic lining the back so it adjusts to fit against the body. The skirt has an additional attached layer of fine woven silk gauze organza that ends in that lower layer of white ruffles you see peeking out from under the skirt. It closes with hook & eye at the back of the neck and a zipper cleverly hidden under one of the back piped seams. This was made to order so can be considered demi-couture.

Very rare and early 1940s Nettie Rosenstein day dress that is just as gorgeous as can be! Constructed form a light silky rayon is is also very sexy and of pin-up worthy status with its elastic neckline that will allow the wearer to wear it as high up or off the shoulders as you wish! I love the little puff cap sleeves and the nipped in waist. The skirt flows long and lean. It has a very unusual double side zipper set above and below the waistline and zipping toward each other. It weighs very little and feels like a breathe of fresh air on! A rarity and a beauty!
Unlined and made of a silky rayon. It closes with an unusual double side zipper with each closing in towards the waist. Inner waist stay. and the neckline and sleeves have elastic. Hidden pockets along the side. There is the very faintest marks under the arms but because of the cut, print and placement they are not seen when worn and you have to look pretty close when it is lying flat. It is priced a bit lower to offset this but this is such a rare and early piece I feel that this is a more then fair price!

This dress is amazing! The red version of this piece was extremely well documented - it appeared in both Harper's Bazaar and Vogue in 1968! (see pictures!) Personally I love the gold version ore then the red - it acts almost like a neutral and is extremely flattering to a wide variety of skin tones! A huge paisley print is woven through through the woven silk fabric. I love how the edges are all rounded and scalloped at the neck, cuffs and hem! The sleeves are left unlined so you get a glimpse of skin through the open weave parts of the fabric! The front is cut to plunge quite low and the waist is cinched in tightly with the wide original belt! The skirt is full over a more fitted silk underskirt. It's a stunning example of early Bill Blass and a true beauty of a dress! Just amazing, in excellent condition and a piece of fashion history!
Fully lined in a yellow toned silk that is hand set and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The sleeves are left unlined. The belt is original and snaps into place. Note that there are two additional snaps that look to have been added at a later date to make the belt smaller. They are well done and an easy thing to remove if you need the extra room.

An amazing two piece set that is drop dead gorgeous! So girlie and feminine and I love the mod cut! The dress is a cotton linen mix and has a nice crisp feel to it. It is cut flapper style with a dropped pleated skirt and lean bodice. I love how it buttons at the front and then has those dramatic attached ties at the neck. This fresh, crisp fabric is contrasted y the stunning pink checked wool coat. This piece definitely gets the mod touch with high placed tiny top pockets on the breast and lean lines. It cinches in at the waist and is finished absolutely perfectly inside and out! This is really demi-couture and rare examples of Ungaro's work during this time period. The set looks to have never been worn. Note that it is far more of a "Barbie" pink in person then how it photoed!
The dress is unlined and slips on with buttons down the front. The coat is also unlined with beautifully finished inside seams and buttons at the front. The waist cinches with the attached belt. Some of the buttons have small chips on them but it otherwise looks to have never been worn

It is always wonderful to have a true piece of Haute Couture and this Chanel suit is to die! First of all, it is pink and a perfect pastel pink at that! It is the classic Chanel boucle that upon close inspection is actually a mix of a pink wool, a almost silver chenille ribbon and pale lavender all woven and thatched through each other. This gives the fabric structure and stability one way and a slight bias cut effect the other - hence the perfect fit that Chanel suit have - it really sculpts to the wearer and yet retains its shape at the same time. It is masterfully cut and constructed with all the work done by hand. I love the double row of brass buttons and the inner top quilted paneling of the lining - it is so well done you could almost flip the entire suit inside out and wear it! Everything about it is special to the last detail. A rarity and a very special and important piece! Tagged with the Chanel Haute Couture tag with a numbered couture ribbon underneath "33256" that dates it to 1966-67. Excellent condition!
Both pieces are lined in a pink silk that is stitched in long vertical panels. The lining is entirely set and finished by hand. The skirt closes with a hand set painted metal zipper and a flat hook and eye at the waist. The jacket closes with domed brass buttons and MOP buttons inside to secure the jacket perfectly into place. The signature gold chain is hidden inside the fold of the lining and exterior.

This dress is absolutely amazing! It truly looks as if it was never worn and is as fresh and crisp as the day it was made! It has all the hallmarks of a Valentino and I would bet that people will guess that is is from the current season it looks so new! Made of a 100% linen exterior is is masterfully constructed. Pintucks run up the bodice with eyelet lace ruffled detailing on either side. This sane eyelet detail circles each cuff and is in a double layer around the hem! Little pockets sit along each hip. It is cut a touch full through the waist but the original belt can be used to cinch it in for more shape. It is that perfect mix of refined elegance with a sort of school girl innocence that when on seems not so innocent. Really an exceptional piece and a stunning example of Valentino's work. Excellent, appears unworn condition!
Fully lined in black tissue silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each cuff has elastic in it above the ruffle. Has its original belt that is also in excellent condition.
