This dress is absolutely amazing! It truly looks as if it was never worn and is as fresh and crisp as the day it was made! It has all the hallmarks of a Valentino and I would bet that people will guess that is is from the current season it looks so new! Made of a 100% linen exterior is is masterfully constructed. Pintucks run up the bodice with eyelet lace ruffled detailing on either side. This sane eyelet detail circles each cuff and is in a double layer around the hem! Little pockets sit along each hip. It is cut a touch full through the waist but the original belt can be used to cinch it in for more shape. It is that perfect mix of refined elegance with a sort of school girl innocence that when on seems not so innocent. Really an exceptional piece and a stunning example of Valentino's work. Excellent, appears unworn condition!
Fully lined in black tissue silk and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Each cuff has elastic in it above the ruffle. Has its original belt that is also in excellent condition.

This is a very simply cut but very beautifully draped and sexy Lanvin couture gown. Made of a high grade silk in a cream is simply wraps at the waist and secures. The arms are cut very deep so you would either wear something nude under it or risk exposure if you move a certain way! The skirt is equally as potentially dangerous as it folds and wrapped over itself but again with a certain movement will expose a lot of leg! Very Grecian Goddess sexy! I love the way the entire front cascaded and draped into almost a ruffle feel due to the curved cut of the skirt! Excellent condition
Self backed fabric with a second layer built in through the skirt. It wraps to close and closes with hook and eye at the waist. The waist as set is 12.5" flat across - this could be adjusted slightly up or down. There are belt loops on either side. The original owner told me that she wore this with a fine gold belt that she bought separate.

An incredible piece that is from the Mr Blackwell Custom label - which was his made to order, one of division. How I wish I knew who this was made for as she must have been someone quite fabulous! He was renowned for dressing the most extravagant women of his time so who knows? It is constructed from an off white raw silk on the exterior and a killer, high grade bright yellow interior silk. This pop of color is wonderful! The skirt of the piece is entirely ringed with hand placed rows of ostrich feathers! It can be worn as a dress but the skirt technically does not close so it can be worn layered over other pieces. The construction on it is beautiful - all hand finished and meticulously done. An exception piece with huge wow factor! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition
Fully lined in high grade yellow silk that is all hand set. Closes with hidden, fabric covered buttons that are set on the bodice only. The skirt portion does not truly close. It overlays over its self for s good 2.5-3". The feathers are in excellent shape and not shedding.

In 1979 Zandra traveled to China and as inspired by what she found there. One of the fist designs she created form that trip were what she dubbed the "Chinese Water Circle" and the "Chinese Balls" patterns. Both of which are hand painted on red silk chiffon on this amazing dress. In the book The Art of Zandra Rhodes, she says, "To me China had purity and strength...The strongest influences upon my Chinese prints were first, the stone carvings of water and clouds in the palaces from which I drew "Chinese Water Circle" and the "Chinese Balls". Then the trellises came in to make "Chinese Squares""" She used this print in her fist collection after coming back from China, doing a second collection 6 months later for the following season that incorporated more designs that also were China inspired. This dress is clearly from that first collection and those very first prints designed by Rhodes. It is made of a bright orange red silk chiffon with the designs hand painted in orange. The bodice as the Trellis patterns appliqued in rhinestones and the neckline and bodice is edged in pearls and cording., as is each sleeve. The waist is elastic so it is easy to wear and the cut a loose interpretation of Chinese garb. The original bright silk satin orange sash is present. Excellent, appears unworn condition
The dress is lined in a red tissue silk and slips on with a tie at the back neck . All the pearls are present and the dress is hand painted and hand finished. Elastic through the waist
After this sold we found this photo of Zandra wearing what looks to be the same dress on Vogue IT and have added it here. What a great surprise for its new owner!

This is a rare, documented book piece that appears in the book "The Art of Zandra Rhodes" from the collection inspired by her trip to Mexico this piece is entitled "Mexican Fan" I that book she says that the "'Mexican Fan' print was an explosive version of the 'Mexican Sombrero' embroidery developed into two fan shapes across the width of the fabric." This is also the collection where she started dying beads to match the fabrics giving the fabrics an additional dimension. You can see that use of bead work here with the circular detailing at the front with a myriad of shapes and colored paillettes used to highlight the design. It can be layered over other pieces as an evening topper and is a valuable and rare piece that is well documented. Excellent. appears unworn condition.

This is a tremendously fabulous example of Gernreich's work! His trademark check is done in a combination of a raspberry red and an unusual shade of purple. The base dress is completely covered in that smaller check pattern with the illusion of a separate vest worn over the dress, but that top piece is actually attached. This is the check that he was doing in 1971 and variations of this can be found in museums around the world. This particular colorway is more rare and one of my absolute favorites! I love how the skirt is fuller and the poly jersey fabric allows it to hold its shape well. The bodice is more fitted so the contrast between the two is amazing! Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Unlined and closes with a painted back zipper.

I just cant get enough of this fabulous little bright and vivid tangerine orange shift by the great Normal Norell. It is made from that wonderful starched linen fabric that has a nice crisp and clean feel to it. The front buttons with off set buttons that are bold and quite thick. This cuts creates a line that disappears behind the dramatic hip pocket with another pocket on the other side. Sleeveless and with just the hint of shape at the waist its simplicity is part of its appeal allowing the color and the girl wearing it to take center stage. Excellent, appears unworn, condition

This is the most dramatic and sexy gown ever. It is quintessential Versace with a slinky silk jersey fabric that drapes into place perfectly. The front has a dramatic curved cut out between the folds of jersey that covers the bust. This drapes down to the side and is caught up in a strip of jersey that is actually part of the straps. The jersey then wraps around the back and creates another low hip cut out. The back is left completely bare as low as Versace dared to go! The skirt is panels of that insanely fabulous silk jersey and is supermodel length. The front and the back have scandalously high slits that expose the leg right to the upper thigh if you move a certain way. Its screened with a customs print of beautiful flowers that are places to highlight the cut of the gown and add to the length created by the drape. Superb. Excellent, appears not to have been worn condition.
Unlined with an inner mesh body suit that closes with hooks and is in immaculate condition. This helps to hold the dress exactly into place so you have no fear of slips. Hand finishes inside and slips on.

We were very pleased to have come across documentation of the Haute Couture piece that this demi-couture, made for the US market out of the London atelier was inspired from. You can see the same now treatment at teach shoulder and the similar fabric and design. This version is a little sexier and has a more femme fatale feel to it that I love! The other version is part of the Met collection but you can be the lucky girl that grabs this piece of history! Really a stunning Dior that is early and perfect in every way! The silk is a fine grade, almost raw silk feeling silk and it has been customs screened with a beautiful floral design in soft muted raspberries and pinks on a black backdrop. The cut is equally perfect - a fitted nips in at the waist with the skirt set in a series of flat pleats around the waist. It narrows as it nears the hem for that sexy pinup shape that keeps checked by the refinement of all the other elements at play. The straps are wide and I adore the flat bows that sit at the bottom of each. It is absolutely wonderful and a fabulous example of Dior. Excellent, appears unworn condition.
Fully lined in a fine black silk organza and closes with a fine back painted metal zipper and hook & eye above that. All the inner edges are ribbon finished and hand done.

A stunning and unusual design from Chester Weinberg, with one of the best fabrics and combinations of cut that I have yet to see. The lines of it and design remind me of Teal Traina pieces and he did in fact work there for some time so it is interesting to see that evolution. He always started his design based on the fabric and in this case that fabric is spectacular! Comprised of two pieces he exterior is an extraordinary full length gown made of a baby pink and cream silk brocade with the design woven into the fabric. A full and fabulous bell skirt has a simple, bodice that buttons up the front. I adore the silk stain belt that circles the waist and ends in an extravagant bow at the front. This tops an inner jumpsuit that is simplicity itself. Note the color is a true Barbie pink with the outer piece being a shade softer then the inner jumpsuit. It's an amazing original piece that is extremely collectible and infinitely wearable. A real treasure of a find and in excellent condition to the point where it appears to have been worn very little if at all! Museum quality.
The jumpsuit is lined in a white silk crepe and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The gown is lined in a white silk organza and closes at the bodice with fabric covered buttons and at the waist with hook & eye. Inner waist stay and weighted hem. Hand finished,

"In August 1971 Vogue magazine illustrated six designs from Jean Muir's latest collection, including this classic dress. The description ran: 'isn't it romantic? tucked or gathered bodices springing great or greater sleeves'. With its top-stitching, carefully tucked bodice and softly pleated skirt, the fluid dress characterizes the designer's meticulous attention to the dictates of cloth and methods of construction." That is the description given for this gown that resides in the V&A archives!
It is such a fabulous dress and I love the tomato red color! The cut is astounding - it somehow manages to take all those yards and yards of fabric and still transform them into something sexy as soon as the dress actually goes onto a real body. The bottom half flows from a empire waist and because the fabric is so thin and flowing it is deceptive how much fabric is actually there. The top portion is a masterpiece. It features Jean's typical top stitch technique and her love of little flat pleats to bring detail onto an otherwise simple piece. It is completely pleated through the front and back almost creating a modern breastplate/corset effect. The sleeves are huge and billowing and are cut all the way from the shoulder to the empire waist seam. Really fabulous and always great to have an exact date and documentation of a piece of fashion history! Excellent condition
Unlined through the skirt and has in interior side bodice that creates sides inside the dress. If the waist fits and you need ore room through the bust/bodice you could in theory remove these as you would then have no side seams through the bodice. Two extra buttons. There where two tiny heel holes near the bottom hem and I had a stitch put into each to secure. Closes with the front buttons and each cuff has elastic.

This is just amazing! Made of a semi-sheer silk chiffon it has hearts and strewn all over it and these hearts are made of hand painted thatched and dotted designs that are then covered with silver glitter bits. The tie to do this must have been astonishing and the effect it creates is amazing! There is no label but it came from a trusted source and I have seen this pattern on a Thea Porter gown in the past so I am very confident that it is indeed Thea Porter. It is priced as an unlabeled piece so you are getting a smashing bargain! I love the lace ruffled edges and that dipped and tiered peplum at the back is just beautiful! I love it! Excellent condition
