1920s Pale Pink & Silver Beaded Flapper

Exquisite 1920s dress in a remarkable and unusual shade of soft pale pink. It has a cotton base which means it is a tad sturdier then its silk counterparts can be at times. It also still retains it made in France label at the neck. Usually these pieces were made in one of the couture houses at the time so this really could be a treasure! It's a truly stunning dress and I have taken a photo of it flat so you can really get an idea of the expanse of fabric used in the skirting. It's quite full and I love how the bottom edge is scalloped! The bodice's design swoops up in lovely curves and the bead work is remarkable - all silver lined tube glass beads used to really emphasize the cut of the dress. Pretty flowers and vines cover the top, a border circles the dropped waist and then the skirt has vertical bands of beads all through. More flowers adorn each bottom scallop. There are no closures - you just slip it on and go. Strong and wearable with the care and love it deserves to be shown - this is a remarkable twenties textile. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today!

Bust: 16" from side seam to side seam, and continuing to hip seam where skirt attaches
Length: 44" from shoulder to bottom hem at the points

The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. Remarkable condition with minor signs of wear considering that this is almost 100 years old. There are faint fade marks round the arms and collar but when worn they do not detract - please see photos. Slight bead loss- maybe 1-2% overall. Someone has reinforced the shoulders at some point. It is well done and seems to have been done some time ago so is left as found. Priced accordingly with these minor issues taken into account. All inside edges are hand rolled and hand stitched and all the bead work in hand applied. Original made in France tag. Remarkable piece

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.

SIZE GUIDE

Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
